this is making me sick how can people who were literally kindergarteners when bad blood came out be old enough to know how to read

People will hate on Snape for being mean and sarcastic with children but he was mean and sarcastic with everyone. He was just treating his students with the same respect he gave everyone else, if you think about it.

like i see people say stuff like “rei is a deconstruction of the idea of like the perfect girl in a male gaze-y way” and and i'm ready to agree until they go “it’s because she’s creepy and weird and bad!” like no. rei's a deconstruction of misogynistic ideas of womanhood because they’re ideals forced upon her that damage her, not because she’s in any way “creepy”. like, the fact she’s a fourteen year old girl who was basically used as a substitute wife by her father bc she looked like his own dead wife is not something that is meant to make rei look bad like holy shit.
like both rei and asuka are very obviously like. showing fantasised and misogynistic ideas of an idealised woman don’t work irl yeah. shinji's misogynistic view of them is wrong. but that’s not because rei and asuka are bad people it’s because like. “fourteen year old who's flirty and seductive” and “fourteen year old who's a quiet obedient object” are major signs of abuse and trauma and anyone actually acting in those ways at that age clearly isn’t normal. asuka is desperate for attention in any way she can get it, even unhealthy and dangerous ways. rei is at the very least I has a weird pseudo-incestous enmeshment filled abusive relationship with her father, even if she's not actively being sexually abused. asuka is seeking support, rei is a grooming victim. these are not things that are flaws in their character the entire point of subverting the expectations is to show how those expectations are unhealthy to rei and asuka like. god.

cant believe we are still having debates about whether or not nonbinary people are trans and if we belong in the trans community at all....
listen guys im gonna make this REAL simple
transgender = when you do not identify as the gender you were assigned at birth
cisgender = when you do identify as the gender you were assigned at birth
as far as i know, people generally are not assigned ‘nonbinary’ or ‘genderfluid’ or ‘agender’ or literally anything besides ‘male’ or ‘female’ at birth. therefore all nonbinary identities are by default under the trans umbrella
people need to stop mudding the waters, gatekeepng shit, and complicating stuff that doesnt need to be complicated it by creating all this discourse. pls stop complicating the definitions of transgender and nonbinary by claiming suddenly its *only* binary and/or full transitioning trans people who are the *real* trans people, and everyone else is a poser whom is....trying to get popular and positve attention by....identifying as one of the most misunderstood, marginalized, targeted minority group in the world??? yeah im sure everyone would just love to jump on the trans band wagon for funsies and shits and giggles in a world where people want to fucking KILL US.
not only have concepts of androgyny and gender-noncomformity been around since humans had gender roles to subvert, but modern terms for nonbinary identities (lke genderqueer and genderfluid) are also a lot older than the 2010s. we’ve been here with the lgbt community since the beginning. we aint new. its like asking “do the people with gender fuckery belong in the gender fuckery club????” (spoiler, they do)
remember kids: throwing some of the most vulnerable, mischaracterized, least accepted members of your already marginalized community under the bus may get you brownie points in the short term with the party of leopards eating bad!!! evi!!! groomer!! trans people’ s faces, but once all the so called ‘degenerate’ trans people, gender-nonconforming cis people, and questioning people either have their faces eaten off or have to go so far back the closet just to avoid getting their faces eaten off, the party of leopards eating (actually every single) trans people’s faces will turn and eat your face too.

i feel like gen z need to be sat down and explicitly told it is ABSOLUTELY OK to say the wrong thing and do the wrong thing sometimes. growing up actually means fucking up, and if you spend your whole life paranoid of being ‘problematic’ then you are legitimately going to drive yourself into an anxiety induced meltdown. watching or reading ‘problematic’ media does not make you a bad person, and tbfh sometimes watching or reading said media (provided you keep your analytical brain switched on) is a good thing to do. because just as we learn by seeing what’s right to do, we also learn by seeing what’s not right to do.
and without wishing to sound horrendously horrendously ‘i am in my mid twenties’, you don’t need to let the entire world know what you’re watching and reading. you actually don’t need to let the entire world know a damn thing about you, and i feel like a lot of the anxiety i see from gen-z online is this terror of being called problematic precisely because the boundaries for oversharing are next to non-existent. growing and changing and learning are a fundamental part of being a teenager, and you will say and do ‘problematic’ shit which will make you cringe in your twenties, and that’s absolutely ok because you will have learned from it.

okay what is with the people accusing/believing mob voters of rigging the vote ._.
did yall not notice how donnie was winning by a smaller and smaller margin for the first three hours and then the mob fandom came online, noticed this happening, and began fighting for a victory…? discussing the poll on twitter, circulating the poll on their blogs, making loving art and writing long essays about why mob deserved to win?
the main argument seems to be that because papyrus vs shadow has much fewer votes, bots are being used, when like… its easy to see that that showdown has less votes (AND NOTES) because people are less interested in the outcome and/or the respective fandoms arent active enough to vote on it…
this is a no-consequence poll thats supposed to be all in good fun guys……

hella idk what to send to you for aftg im either bored or annoyed and I don't wanna just say bad things about it 😭 like that's just rude and yall obviously like it I DONT WANNA BE SOME DEBBY DOWNER MDMWKEM
I looked at the anti aftg tag too to see if I could intermingle there and last I checked it was a mix of fans obsessed with the series and haters being just a tad harsh imo, so i couldn't even do that RIP. I'm so lonesome in what is maybe a whole group of people gaslighting me 😔👊
honestly ive said this before and i always have to tread a very fine line with it because this isn't me saying it's OKAY or like. promotable. but i do think to an extent that aftg's problematicness is actually an aspect of what draws people in a lot. like the characters and their reactions to things feel real for who they are, what they've been through and the environments they were raised in if that makes sense? and then you go in the anti-aftg tag and it's just again and again 'they said THIS thing and acted THIS way in response to THIS scenario and it was PROBLEMATIC' and like. yeah. outside of the internet bubble you're in people do actually do that. like that behaviour exists. it IS problematic, well done. you pointed at a wall and called it a wall. but like? in real life people - PARTICULARLY deprived, traumatised people that typically don't ever get therapy or community or someone telling them why something is bad - DO act this way. ive said half of my love for andrew is literally just because he took an awful backstory and let it make him a complete cunt and ive NEVER seen a character do it as shamelessly as him before. and yeah there's the argument for how it's never resolved in the book where nora ties it with a bow and points at the bad behaviour so the readers can go 'see, this is wrong' and we all clap, but idk it just for me feels that when people point at the aftg characters and go problematic! problematic! problematic! it's like they're missing the point a bit.
the point being? that we need to be putting WAY more heat on the author. i really dislike her and a lot of her writing choices and her insistance of using slurs that aren't hers to reclaim and just because it happened to make the characters feel just that bit more authentic i can still acknowledge that she CLEARLY wrote it without characterisation in mind and just added all that problematic shit anyway. like i never get why there's so little focus on nora's writing decisions and thousands of posts just fucking CRUCIFYING the characters themselves and 'let's explain in detail why this behaviour is Morally Reprehensible and they should be Locked Up Forever'. like if u want to focus on the characters so bad and pretend they're the sole reason why aftg is Problematic and Bad then why is it so hard to acknowledge that someone raised the way they were might have some misinformed, ignorant beliefs. idk lol

to the church, and to my parents:
Please stop forcing me to love out of pure terror that my soul will be in eternal agony. I truly don't think humans are that evil and terrible that a person had to die for us to even get a chance to not rot in the fires of hell. If we are to be judged because of something an ancestor did thousands of years ago, then what is life, except trying to atone for the sin of an ancestor that made one wrong decision? Isn't god's love towards us toxic, because only if we worship him will he accept us into his realm?
Religion has always been about power and oppression, and it simply isn't applicable to the modern world. You can't just take the same standards set for people thousands of years ago and force it upon people today. Yes, the bible preached kindness and love to all, but it also provided the foundation for a deeply sexist society that people today still suffer from. Not all the sexism and racism and xenophobia are directly due to religion, but large aspects can be attributed to it.
I love church, i truly do. I love the discussions, the songs, the prayers we did for each other, but I'm starting to realize how messed up everything is. To be saved means to pray everyday, to go to church and sing about how terrible humans are and how kind god was to kill his son so we could live and how lucky we are for this chance for salvation. I'm tired of thinking that I'm worthless if I don't do all this, and I'm tired of believing that it's only if I love god that I can have peace. Isn't this what we all deserve? Even if christianity was real and proven, I would rather live believing we all deserved peace and joy and love without having to worship a god that deemed us worthless if we didn't worship him everyday. I want to believe that all of us are deserving of love.

cis ppl get so mad at t4t relationships bc they couldn't fathom wanting to date a clocky trans person. they want someone who fits neatly into Woman or Man and that's the end of it. but that isn't what being trans is about for a lot of us. it's about the fuzzy edges and not existing within either and also both categories. it's about learning to love that ambiguity and embracing it and finding other trans people who embrace it within themselves and you rather than try and smooth out all the wrinkles and edges.

the way that some people in fandom talk abt newer fandom terms vs older fandom terms feels so "old man screams at cloud"
sorry that terminology changes and evolves over time. just bc that's what it was called when you were 16 doesn't mean that's the end all be all term that should be used forever
