La mia tesi di dottorato studiava tutte le relazioni produttive e commerciali di una importante azienda di kiwi presente nel nordovest del Portogallo, provando a verificare quali fossero gli effetti territoriali di tali rapporti lavorativi. Emergeva come uno studio attento e molecolare della geografia del lavoro, uno studio fatto sulle singole attività e sul coacervo dei loro rapporti territoriali, permettesse di iniziare a cogliere gli spazi fisici esistenti, o meglio i luoghi contemporanei, insieme ai loro tensori. Oggi ho letto un articolo bellissimo e rigoroso sulla geografia del lavoro di una azienda che produce fragole nella mia valle. Molte volte mentre mi recavo in ufficio da casa con la macchina, ho rallentato per osservare l’impianto chiedendomi cosa coltivassero di preciso. Avevo già visto in Portogallo una coltivazione di frutti rossi fuori terra e ovviamente coglievo delle analogie tra i due impianti. L’articolo è molto importante perché spazza via le retoriche (alcune ormai fuori dal tempo) città-campagna/urbano-rurale/tecnologico-naturale/sostenibile-insostenibile e prova a farci capire esattamente come funzionasse prima del covid19 uno dei mondi produttivi esistenti (di eccellenza oltre che di successo) e come stia cercando di continuare a vivere durante la pandemia. Se prima non osserviamo e non conosciamo ciò che esiste, e dove esiste ciò che esiste, non sapremo dire nulla di serio (o di scherzoso) su come migliorarlo e rafforzarlo con il progetto
