god idk why but every time i see art like this it makes me wonder how scara would feel if he had a child.

Damian definitely plays Stardew Valley. He gets one of each animal and this is how he names them, going in more or less play through order:

The pet he chooses is definitely a grey cat named Alfred, because it’s the closest to his either of his dog and cat.

His first brown and white chickens are named Todd and Drake, respectively. Damian is never too fussed with Shane but gets to that heart scene just to have a blue chicken named Richard.

His first cow is named Batcow of course.

Duke/ Thomas, depending on how close they are, is his first duck.

He takes Dick’s suggestion to name his goat Gordan, after Babs. Duck finds this funny, Damian doesn’t get the pun at first.

The one, and only, sheep he gets is named Bruce.

His rabbit is Brown.

The first pig is named after human Alfred (because pigs are the best) but since there are already multiple Alfreds, it’s called Pennyworth.

His Dino is Goliath (again because it’s the closest he can get to the actual animal).

His horse is named Titus. He wanted to honor his dog in a special way and having him be the only animal you can take into town is the perfect way to do this.

The void chicken gets named Cass/Cain (again depending on how close they are). And something about (Kate) Kane being an ostrich just feels right.

When Damian eventually gets a golden chicken there is only one obvious name. Since he named almost all the chickens after Robins, and since he is the best Robin, it get named Littlest D.

I really enjoyed Ashley and Adam’s commentary and can’t wait for the Runthrough! I won’t be surprised if they take a week off first after commenting on literally everyone. I will say I thought their praise of CPom was warranted during and post skates, but the narrative that they were pushing (from USFS) about needing a breakout performance after (emphasis added) *so many years* on the Senior Circuit was a little unfair. They definitely made mistakes at nationals two years ago but then came back strong for bronze last year. I won’t pretend to have memorized placements before that but pre 2022 the field was stacked with HD, CB, HB. So really they weren’t going to podium with those three back then. ZK came out swinging last year likely because they felt like they had nothing to lose. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the shakiness that came through on their skates was due to nerves and the pressure to perform or beat last year’s result. Anyways if CPom had any doubters they proved, most importantly, USFS wrong. Here’s to many more years of two insanely good programs!

i liked them as commentators too! and the podcast is light and fun. i agree with you that that's an odd take about CPom - this is their 6th senior season, but with covid, they lost most of one like everyone else. and then there was the bumpiness of their first IAMO season when Anthony was injured

they had 2 seasons before covid, and you're right- H/D, C/B and H/B were the podium at Nats in both those seasons, but CPom were 5th and 4th - not bad for baby seniors in that field. and now this is their 2nd season back after his surgery, and they've medaled both seasons. they're only 23 in a discipline where the top teams's average age is over 30

but commentators like a hook. the way Johnny Weir was talking up Ian Somerville like he’s the most talented ice dancer everrr or the way TSL thought Z/K were going to storm the podium, or the way MIDA was supposed to take over US ice dance - ice dance moves slowly, it's more complicated than these takes. but so happy for CPom - if the narrative is that they've broken through now, if that gets them more support from judges, then great
