She might bring the big guns again." Marinette told Chloe who solemnly nodded leaving Felix, Kagami, and Luka confused until Aurore notice this and explain what Marinette mean by 'big guns'.

"Well good they are going to be in big trouble for messing with her little sister!" Chloe exclaimed as huffed annoyanced as some like Jean, Marc, and Mirelle nodded since Aurore is still explaining the trio. Marinette recieved a message from her great-grandmother who's name was Zhao Meixiu she is her mama's grandmother of Yan Cheng. As Marinette smile genuinely which took Chloe for granted to notice it.

"What is it, Maribug?" Chloe questioned her confused as the rest glanced at her. "My zēngzǔmǔ texted me that she is pissed of what she is finding out right now and decided to visit Paris but bringing the entire China to Paris." Marinette said while reading the text message that is in mandarin thanks to Chloe to set up the language setting for her since she didn't know how to do it. Oh now you done it. We're doomed! Mrs. Mendeleiev thought to herself. As the Class here in Mrs. Mendeleiev's their faces drain in white.

And boy she was pissed hearing the statement from her eldest great-granddaughter but more concern about her youngest great-granddaughter Marinette who's name was Cheng Wei Young.

"How dare these imbeciles mistreated my youngest great-granddaughter?! Who has the right mind to negligence and enable this mess!" Meixiu snarled coldly as many of her co-workers gulped.

Zhao Meixiu went to visit her mother in the Palace of China. Her mother who's name is Li Xiuying needs to know about her great-great grandchildren and what's going on as well. Li Xiuying is the Empress of China. Her father who's name is Zhao Weisheng. As soon as she has arrived to the palace. Her status here in China is well she is the gōngzhǔ but has an older brother who is Zhao Mingli who is the Head General of the China Army but she decided to be a rebellion and works in the Embassy instead of being the Empress like her mother.

"What is it daughter?" The Empress asked but notice her daughter expression something happen which is concerning for her then glanced at her husband who seem well preserved but also concerning as well.

"I received a call from my great-great granddaughter Cheng Qiu Yu she told me that her little sister Cheng Wei Young is being mistreated in her school from Paris. Mother. Father." Meixiu stated this made her father absolutely livid including her mother. "Did Xia Bing say anything about this?" Her mother asked in a calm way. "She did but she needed help from us. Apparently the bullies of Cheng Wei Young has been vandalizing her room and not paying for pastries from Xia Bing and her husband or the dresses that Wei Young makes for them." Meixiu stated this really started to anger her mother the most.

"GUARDS! Deliver this message to General Mingli. We are going to Paris to fix this mess! Some of you will have to contact the President of Paris and the Mayor of Paris as well about our arrival!" Empreror Zhao Weisheng ordered as the guards quickly rush out of the palace to deliver a message to General Mingli.

"Someone call Xia Bing for me. I need to speak to her! Quickly!" Empress demanded her maids who nodded immediately and rush out to find the Empress' iphone that was gifted by her daughter when she was at the working station as an Head Ambassador of China.

At the army base, General Mingli is with his fiancee Liu Jiayi she is the third-rank general. His righthand and best friend came in and said this, "General. The Emperor wants to speak to you. Its an urgent message from Xia Bing's children." Wu Renshu stated this was concerning for both of them and agreed to go. Jiayi became worried about Cheng Qiu Yu and Cheng Wei Young.

Back in Paris, the President and the Mayor recieved felt a chills down their spine. I have a bad feeling something is going to happen. The President and Mayor Bourgeois thought at the same time but in different location. Miss Bustier's Class and Damocles made a huge mistake of mistreating Marinette Dupain-Cheng who's given name was Cheng Wei Young.

"Sir we have an incoming phone call from the Embassy of China right now that wish to speak to you with another call from Mayor Bourgeois" Elaine Labelle informed to her boss. Oh no. Adolphe thought to himself. "Put it on air please so I can video call them, Elaine." Adolphe confirmed her as she nodded.

The Head Ambassador of China as in Zhao Meixiu does not look very happy his face drain in white when he spotted the Emperor of China, Empress of China, and the General of the Army. Oh shit. He thought to himself. "I recieved a call from my great-granddaughter who is the Head Governor of the School Board. She told me that my youngest great-granddaughter Marinette Dupain-Cheng as for her given name who is Cheng Wei Young is being mistreated at Collège Françoise Dupont. What is the meaning of this? President Adolphe and Mayor Bourgeois!" Meixiu barked explaining in more details.

Damocles! What have you done! Mayor Bourgeois thought angrily as he continue listening to Head Ambassador of China, Emperor and Empress of China, The Generals of the China Army they do not look very happy and now they are thin ice with them cause of their resources that they send it to them from the beginning.

"As for the resources that we have sent from the beginning.. we decided to cut it down." This made the President and the Mayor to go pale as white. "Our people had decided to visit Paris." General Mingli told them. "Some of you will be spared but others cannot." Fourth-Rank General Jiayi stated to them in a calm way she learn french after taking a university there.

Then they ended the call. The President groaned but told his secretary to set a meeting to the government and a few adults to the meeting while the Mayor at his office panic. "Ms. Blanchet please call the TVi News. I have decided to make announcement to everyone they need to know." Mayor said to his secretary he was pissed at Damocles for this mess if he didn't mistreat Marinette Dupain-Cheng by boycotting Lila Rossi this wouldn't have happen in the first place. His secretary nodded did not want to push his buttons by the looks of it... it does not look good for them either.

During the TVi News they recieved a call from Mayor Bourgeois it seems urgent. They send an alert on the parisians to watch the news. Many people heard their notifiction ping it as they went on their phones or the television to watch the news. The school secretary heard a ping on her phone it says broadcasting news and its urgent. She march to the principal's office and said, "Sir there is an urgent broadcasting that you need to watch it. So I can inform the other staffs!" Secretary said urgently as Damocles nodded and turn on his television to watch the news.

She went to the Armand D'Argencourt, Fred Haprèle, Jean-Pierre Monlataing, Olga Mendeleiev, and Caline Bustier to turn on the news now there is an urgent message from the Mayor Bourgeois right at now. They immediately turn it on and told their students to quiet down.

"Don't be amused, it's just the news! I am Nadja Chamack. According in live. We here by the Mayor Bourgeois who has an announcement to make! But also bring out the video call all the way from China!" Nadja exclaimed then glanced at the Mayor who nodded. As Nadja put up a video call it revealed to be Emperor of China, Empress of China, General of China Army, and the Head Ambassador of China they do not look very happy at all. The Head Ambassador of China looked absolutely pissed.

At the Collège Françoise Dupont while Marinette cheered of her family in honor to be viewed but kept quiet so she can hear the news. Many teachers seem wavery by this while Adrien stared at them in pale he recongized them anywhere including Max who is repeatedly muttering about "We are doomed." Nino panic immediately he recognized them thanks to Marinette when they were in élémentaire.

"It has come to our attention that our Head Governor of the School Board as Bridgette Cheng had called their great-grandmother Zhao Meixiu who is the Head Ambassador of China about her little sister Marinette Dupain-Cheng but to some who haven't knew this is that her given name is Cheng Wei Young. They were told that she is being mistreated in Collège Françoise Dupont here in Paris. Due to the fact of the Principal of that school along with her old teacher Caline Bustier for this mess.

Not only that I have spoken to the Emperor of China who goes as Zhao Weisheng along with his wife Li Xuiying the Empress of China they are a family to Sabine Cheng. The Cheng Family came from a Royal Family of China. Our resources has been cut down you can blame this on Denis Damocles, Lila Rossi, Alya Cesaire, and Caline Bustier later on. I recieved a call from the government and we are on lockdown meaning you cannot leave Paris. If you are a friend of the Cheng Family you may leave Paris or come back." The Mayor stated as many gasped in horror while the staffs and students of the school were furious.

Mrs. Rossi was angry at her daughter for this mess. Marlena was so mad at her daughter when her daughter's name was mentioned. While Gabriel went pale as white that he mess with the wrong person along with Nathalie who did not know this would have happen.

Rose glared at Lila, Alya, and Ms. Bustier many also glared at them. "This happen earlier in school by those two. Who had the nerve to struck Marinette when she came to school." Rose said out of the blue. "I can't be friends with someone who wanted war against a royal family. Even I have morals here." Rose stated out loud for them to hear as she dragged Juleka away and sat next to Chloe's seat. Lila went pale as white she didn't know that Maritrash came from the Royal Family. How was she suppose to know this. Well she is in big trouble now.

"If that vile child Lila Rossi thought she get out easily. The emperor and empress had decided to declare war with Paris and Italy for this mess. Many of you will be spared but others cannot be spared. We have the list of families who is being spared thanks to Sabine Cheng this morning." Jiayi stated out of the blue when they are making a conversation to her since she can speak French.

"The one who is being spared are Gretta Rossi, Bourgeois Family, Graham de Vanily Family, Fathom Family, Agreste Family, Lahiffe Family, Beaureal Family, Blanchet Family, Dubois Family, Bellamy Family, Wang Family, Couffaine Family, Jagged Stone, Penny Rolling, Clara Nightingale, Chamack Family..." Many families were relieve but others aren't. They were furious while Gabriel sigh in relief that he is being spared. Lila heard her mother's name it means that her mother is spared not her.

there’s not a lot of mingli fic, but the mingli fic that exists is extremely heavy on huaisang plotting and taking advantage of jiang cheng and wei wuxian’s dislike of jin zixuan, and like. i love it i love them i love my little monsters being like “WELL IF WE’RE ONLY ARRANGING MARRIAGES FOR POLITICAL REASONS, HERE ARE SOME EXTREMELY VALID ONES that make me personally happier than the things our parents arranged”

JC Love Month 2020 Day 20 - Xichengfest 2020 Day 3

Nature - Love Song

Day 20 of JC Love Month and Day 3 of Xichengfest bring some soft Xicheng, who finally got somewhere with their love confessions in my Sing for me series. This follows after Bottle.

Jiang Cheng is just overseen the training of his junior disciples when Zhong Shanyuan comes up to him, a slight smile on his lips.

“What?” Jiang Cheng gruffly asks without taking his eyes from his disciples but it’s not as gruff as it used to be in the past and they both know it.

“Sect Leader Lan is here,” Zhong Shanyuan tells him and Jiang Cheng perks up at that before he gets himself back under control.

It’s still too late. Zhong Shanyuan already saw it, because his smile slides into the teasing territory.

“Do not even start,” Jiang Cheng threatens him, pointing a finger at him for good measure, too, and Zhong Shanyuan gentles his smile.

Jiang Cheng knows what to do with that even less, and so he turns towards his disciples again.

“It’s good to see Sect Leader Lan so often,” Zhong Shanyuan says, stepping into position next to Jiang Cheng, their shoulders brushing slightly. “It’s even better to see you happy,” he then adds and Jiang Cheng huffs, but Zhong Shanyuan’s words warm him.

“Where’s Jin Ling,” he asks, even though they both damn well know where he is but Zhong Shanyuan doesn’t call Jiang Cheng out on his poor diversion tactic.

“He’s with Jiang Mingli,” Zhong Shanyuan says. “I believe they are at the private piers.”

“Can you take over here?” Jiang Cheng asks, though he knows the answer and even if it was different, Jiang Cheng knows himself well enough to realize that he would have called training off, simply so he could go see Lan Xichen.

It’s most definitely a problem, but Jiang Cheng doesn’t care to think about it too hard. His disciples certainly wouldn’t mind, that Jiang Cheng is sure of.

“Of course,” Zhong Shanyuan says and immediately snaps out a new order, which the disciples follow beautifully.

Jiang Cheng stays a few moments longer, simply to roam his eyes over every last disciple, and then he turns and walks away.

It’s really impolite to leave another Sect Leader waiting after all.

Jiang Cheng doesn’t find Lan Xichen at the main entrance and he frowns for a brief second, before he figures that Lan Xichen possibly went to see Jin Ling.

Jiang Cheng did tell him that he was always welcome at Lotus Pier, that he didn’t need to wait for Jiang Cheng to lead him anywhere else, and Lan Xichen is certainly free to roam the private piers.

He spent a lot of time there already, after all, and most of it with Jiang Cheng asleep on him in one form or the other.

The thought still makes Jiang Cheng go hot in the face, so he shakes his head in an attempt to get rid of those thoughts and then he marches off to the private pier where he can already hear Jin Ling laugh from a distance.

The sound still warms Jiang Cheng’s heart, and it’s the only argument that makes him believe he’s not completely fucking Jin Ling’s life up, and he quickens his steps.

When the pier finally comes into view, Jiang Cheng comes to an abrupt stop at the sight in front of him.

Jiang Mingli is nowhere to be seen, so he must have handed Jin Ling over to Lan Xichen before he went his merry way and Lan Xichen is throwing Jin Ling high up in the air and always securely catching him again.

Jin Ling is shrieking with laughter, clearly not afraid at all, and whenever Lan Xichen isn’t quick enough to throw him again, he pats Lan Xichen’s face before he points up at the sky.

Lan Xichen always obliges him, throwing Jin Ling with a huge smile on his face, and if Jiang Cheng were still oblivious to his feelings for the other man, his complete and utter lack of fear at seeing Lan Xichen handle Jin Ling like that would clue him right in.

“Juu,” Jin Ling suddenly screams, twisting in the air as he catches sight of Jiang Cheng, and now Jiang Cheng’s heart does miss a beat, until Jin Ling is safely back in Lan Xichen’s arms, who seems a little more shocked as well.

Jin Lin kicks his little feet until Lan Xichen catches the hint and finally puts him down and then Jin Ling is off, sprinting towards Jiang Cheng as fast as his short legs carry him.

Jiang Cheng meets him halfway and swings Jin Ling up in his arms as soon as he can.

“Did you have fun with Xichen?” Jiang Cheng asks and Jin Ling nods enthusiastically before he settles into Jiang Cheng’s arms.

Jiang Cheng’s heart feels very full when Jin Ling snuggles into him like that and it only grows a size when Lan Xichen steps up to them with a soft smile on his face.

“I didn’t know he talked yet,” Lan Xichen says and gently shakes Jin Ling’s foot in his hand making Jin Ling squirm and laugh and Jiang Cheng shakes his head.

“It’s just that for now,” he admits, aware that it can barely be classified as talking, but he still remembers the first time Jin Ling has said it.

He might have taken a moment or five to shed a tear, before he could face Jin Ling again.

“I see,” Lan Xichen hums. “Only his most favourite person gets a name.”

“So far,” Jiang Cheng says. “I’m guessing he’ll be a blabber mouth once he really starts to speak.”

“As if you would mind,” Lan Xichen says and then points his head towards the pavilion at the end of the pier. “Sit with me?” he asks, and Jiang Cheng would be affronted if it was anyone else, because this is his home and no one should take these liberties, but he finds that it’s okay if it’s Lan Xichen.

“Sure,” he says and carries Jin Ling over, who seems to doze off in his arms, clearly exhausted from all his playing with Lan Xichen and no doubt before that with Jiang Mingli.

“Have you heard from Nie Mingjue?” Jiang Cheng asks him once they are settled down and someone brought them some tea and Lan Xichen hums.

“He’s reluctant to meet with you,” Lan Xichen says but he goes on before Jiang Cheng can go on the defence or feel offended. “He says if you drop by it’s hard to explain to Nie Huaisang what you’re doing there, and he doesn’t want to give him hope since we don’t know if it will work.”

Jiang Cheng thinks that over for a while; it seems impractical to wait for Nie Huaisang to leave the Unclean Realm, because Jiang Cheng isn’t sure if he ever really does leave.

“Can’t he come to Lotus Pier? Or Gusu, if that’s easier to explain?” Jiang Cheng asks and Lan Xichen nods.

“I proposed the same, since I figured you wouldn’t exactly mind if he comes by, but he says he needs time to think. I think his last qi deviation really shook him.”

Jiang Cheng can understand that, seeing how long it lasted and maybe it’s not only Nie Huaisang who doesn’t want to be given some false hope.

“I can send him an invitation, if you think it will help,” Jiang Cheng offers, seeing just how worried Lan Xichen still is for his friend, and he shrugs.

“It might. It won’t hurt, though,” he admits and Jiang Cheng nods.

“Consider it done, then.”

“Wanyin, thank you,” Lan Xichen seriously says and turns towards Jiang Cheng. “Really, thank you. I appreciate it so much that you’re willing to try.”

“Of course,” Jiang Cheng courtly says and busies himself with Jin Ling in his arms, simply so he doesn’t have to see the gratitude on Lan Xichen’s face.

It’s not in Jiang Cheng’s nature to deal well with these kind of feelings and Lan Xichen seems to realize that, because he brushes their shoulders together and then looks back out over the lake.

“Why are you here today?” Jiang Cheng asks before he winces and rushes to correct himself. “I mean, you don’t need a reason, I told you before, it’s okay if you just drop by.”

Jiang Cheng only stops his rambling when Lan Xichen puts a hand to his arm.

“I know,” he easily says, clearly not offended at all. “There is a reason actually,” he then admits and Jiang Cheng sits up straighter, even with Jin Ling in his arms, ready to move if Lan Xichen has a problem Jiang Cheng can fix.

“What can I do?” he asks and is not at all prepared for the look that passes Lan Xichen’s face.

Jiang Cheng doesn’t know how to deal with those feelings any more than he knows how to deal with all the others.

“Nothing,” Lan Xichen shakes his head and then scoots back a bit. “Well, you could lay down and put your head right here,” Lan Xichen says and pats his thigh with a hopeful smile.

“What for?” Jiang Cheng wants to know, because he is sleeping well these days and Jin Ling is already fast asleep in Jiang Cheng’s arms.

“It’s a surprise, Wanyin,” Lan Xichen tells him and Jiang Cheng’s heart might stumble a bit at that.

Lan Xichen’s eyes are dragged to the bell on Jiang Cheng’s belt and Jiang Cheng flushes when he remembers that Lan Xichen can hear it and also knows what it means.

And most importantly, that Lan Xichen isn’t shying away from Jiang Cheng, even though he knows what the bell means now.

Quite the opposite really, as he leans in and brushes a kiss over Jiang Cheng’s cheek.

“Please, Wanyin?” he whispers against his skin and a shudder runs down Jiang Cheng’s back.

How could he ever say no to that.

“Fine,” Jiang Cheng grumbles, mostly for show, and he shifts until he can lay down, Jin Ling cradled on his chest and his head in Lan Xichen’s lap.

It’s a familiar place by now and Jiang Cheng blushes when he realizes that.

“Close your eyes,” Lan Xichen whispers, putting a hand to Jiang Cheng’s head and he only starts to softly card his fingers through Jiang Cheng’s hair when Jiang Cheng complies with his wishes.

“There you go,” Lan Xichen whispers and Jiang Cheng sighs before he relaxes fully.

It is a very comfortable place to be in, after all.

There’s a brief silence, and to Jiang Cheng it feels distinctly like Lan Xichen is bracing himself for something, or maybe preparing himself for something and it’s almost enough to get Jiang Cheng to open his eyes again because Lan Xichen shouldn’t feel like that.

But before Jiang Cheng can move even a single muscle, Lan Xichen starts to hum under his breath, before he gradually picks up volume.

Jiang Cheng can’t quite understand the words, isn’t even sure there are any words to this song, but it feels like he’s been hit with a buck load of feelings anyway. It’s enough to bring tears to his eyes but he intently listens on, because it’s the most beautiful song Jiang Cheng has ever heard and he doesn’t want to miss a second.

The feelings that are conveyed with the song make him go hot all over and after a while he has to turn his head so that he can hide his face in Lan Xichen’s stomach.

The movement doesn’t disturb Lan Xichen at all it seems, because he continues to sing and it feels simultaneously like an eternity and like a blink before he falls silent again.

“That’s not a lullaby,” Jiang Cheng finally croaks out and Lan Xichen huffs out a laugh.

“No, it’s not,” he easily admits and Jiang Cheng presses into the hand still on his head. “You gave me the sound of your bell, I figured it’s only fair that I give you something in return. That I give voice to my feelings as well.”

Jiang Cheng suspected that that was what the song was about but to hear it stated so clearly by Lan Xichen still makes Jiang Cheng squirm enough that he sits up.

“You wrote me a love song,” he says, once he can look Lan Xichen in the face and it’s incredibly reassuring to see a faint blush on his cheeks as well.

“Yes,” Lan Xichen still confesses and cups Jiang Cheng’s cheek in his hand. “I hope I didn’t overstep.”

“Xichen, you can hear my bell,” Jiang Cheng says with a sigh. “There is no overstepping for you,” he then whispers and is not prepared for the blinding smile that breaks out on Lan Xichen’s face.

“I hoped so,” he gives back and then he guides Jiang Cheng closer, still mindful of the peacefully slumbering Jin Ling in Jiang Cheng’s arms.

“I’m in love with you,” Lan Xichen whispers, and Jiang Cheng almost feels the words against his lips, most definitely feels them down to his bones, and when he can’t find his words he simply leans in and brings their lips together.

He knows it’s not nearly sufficient as an answer, but it has to do until he can compose himself better.

The kiss is soft but by no means fleeting and when they part Jiang Cheng feels like he could burst with happiness when he sees the same dazed look on Lan Xichen’s face he suspects is on his own as well.

“I’m in love with you, too,” Jiang Cheng says, finally finding his voice and Lan Xichen strokes a finger over the bell.

“I can hear it,” he says with a smile and he looks so content that Jiang Cheng simply has to lean in again.

“Sing it for me again?” Jiang Cheng then asks eagerly, because how unfair that Lan Xichen can always hear his bell, while Jiang Cheng has to wait for Lan Xichen to sing for him.

“Always,” Lan Xichen gives back and this time, Jiang Cheng moves so that he fits against Lan Xichen’s side, whose arm readily comes up around him.

Lan Xichen presses a kiss to Jiang Cheng’s forehead and then strokes a finger down Jin Ling’s soft cheek before he starts to sing the song again.

Wei Wuxian nodded. “Yeah, she’s amazing at it.”

“Well, that’s something they have in common, then,” Nie Huaisang said, and saw Wei Wuxian’s look of surprise. “I know, you wouldn’t think it to look at him. He used to help his mother in the kitchen when he was little and I think it reminds him of her. What else do they have in common?”

“Meddlesome little brothers?” another voice interjected, and Nie Huaisang realized with horror that Lan Xichen was standing a dozen feet away, smiling benignly.

in The Untamed fandom, this is definitely searching for tomorrow, my Wen Qing centric post-Nightless-City-massacre fic. It didn't have any pairings so I think it didn't get a lot of attention but it was really good imo!!!! I loved the long game cat-and-mouse relationship Wen Qing and Jin Guangyao had and also her relationship with Jiang Cheng in this - it's probably the version of Jiang Cheng I'm most satisfied with (I find him kind of difficult to write in general)

for Teen Wolf, it's That was Then, This is Now - I'm not sure if it's because people don't like reverse trope, or because Petopher was the main pairing, but it didn't get a lot of attention and I genuinely think it's one of my best TW fics - the stuff between Chris and Peter after Peter's family is killed and then Chris thinks Peter was killed is so poignant and it's something I feel good about

A sleepy smile spreads across her face. No, she corrects herself, Nie Mingjue wasn’t just any different man. She’d once thought of him as big and intimidating, and rough, but he’d shown her the gentleness flying just underneath that exterior, and she’d accepted him gladly.

A sudden thump outside of her room pulls the smile right off of her face and she turns around as the door opens. Before her eyes focus, she thinks it might be one of her brothers, or both of them, but the figure is too tall, his shoulders too wide as he leaves the door open behind him.

Jiang Yanli is crossing the room in a second, but Nie Mingjue meets her halfway, setting his hands on her waist and brushing a kiss onto her forehead. “What are you doing here? A-Cheng and A-Xian said you wouldn’t be here until tomorrow afternoon.” Jiang Yanli’s laughter is hushed as she leans up on her toes to kiss his jaw. It wouldn’t be the first or last time they’ve snuck around, even in Lotus Pier, but she’d never thought Nie Mingjue would cut it so close.

“I’m here to kidnap you.” Nie Mingjue grins in the darkness, and Jiang Yanli’s mouth falls open right before she’s lifted up and set over his shoulder as if she weighed no more than a sack of flour.

“Mingjue, let me go.” Jiang Yanli laughs, pushing her hands against his back even as her own room moves further and further away from her, “Let. Me. Go. My brothers have already hidden my shoe, they’ll be crushed if they wake up in the morning and find out that you’ve already run off with me.” She’s arguing, but she puts up no real fight, even as she realizes that Nie Mingjue is already halfway to the dock with her, walking out as brazenly as he dares.

It’s only when Nie Mingjue comes to stand in front of a boat does he even think about setting her down, wrapping his cloak around her as if he worried she might catch a chill. “It’s Qinghe tradition to kidnap your bride the night before the wedding, usually while your brother is getting her family good and drunk so they don’t notice a thing.” Jiang Yanli doesn’t deny him his kiss when he leans down for it, pulling his cloak tighter around herself. “The bride usually makes it back to her bedchamber by sunrise.”

They’re both grinning as they pull out of the kiss, a laugh passing between them as he steps into the boat first and helps her in second, though he doesn’t let go of her hand until she’s settled in.

“A-Cheng won’t wake up until after eight if he’s hung over,” Jiang Yanli points out, feeling giddy as she watches Nie Mingjue set the oars into the water, “A-Xian never wakes until nine.”

For just a moment, Nie Mingjue freezes in his movements, chuckling and shaking his as Jiang Yanli smiles sweetly up at him, looking entirely too innocent for what she was suggesting.

“My bride is going to make it difficult to return her to her bedchamber by then.” Nie Mingjue teases, and Jiang Yanli laughs, unable to take her eyes off of him as he rows them further and further out, away from the dock and away from any chance of getting caught.

No, Nie Mingjue wasn’t just any different man.

He was hers.

Curious to hear your views on NMJ and JYL as a rare pair? I read a MingLi (or JueLi??) fic recently and was surprised by how much i was vibing with it!

I can see it working! Actually I even think they could be quite the powercouple. I think they’re actually very similar in many ways. Both put their family first always and are very nurturing and loving. When they love someone they love hard and fierce. Don’t mess with their family because they will destroy you.

Both of them are so used to caring for others, I think it would be really lovely for them both to have someone to take care of them as well.

Next to that I think they also would balance each other well. jyl could be the voice of reason nmj needs sometimes to make a good decision he won’t feel horrible about afterwards. nmj really needs some proper and unconditional support and jyl can give him that. I think being with the fierce and direct nmj could allow jyl to speak up more often as well, if anyone is secure enough in his masculinity to have a fierce woman by his side it’s nmj and god i need jyl to speak up and destroy people’s entire lives with words more often. I’m sure nmj would enjoy seeing her trample over annoying old sect leaders as well, he might even encourage it.

I would honestly also support this just because it means support for jiang cheng as sect leader and the boy needs that.

4. Thank God for fic finders! Hopefully you can help me find this one bc I've been dying to reread it.

This fic is a sci-fi Au, with Ship Commander LWJ and Inventor?/Engineer? WWX It opens up with WWX escaping captivity from the Jins, who kept him prisoner for 13 years, making him invent for them, and forcing him/torturing him with android? body modifications.

Specifically, he was also kept close to JGY, which gave him an opportunity to escape at some sort of large Space Federation Meeting that LWJ and his ship were attending. WWX is caught by LWJ during his attempted escape and is brought back into LWJs ship, where they are then chased by the jins the rest of the story. I can't remember much about the rest of the story besides the general WWX whump, wangxian being sand and horny for each other, and their ship being hunted down by the jins. The other sect leaders are in the background in their own ships

I hope it's still out there and didn't get deleted, I haven't had any luck finding it in ao3s science fiction tags

LZ is called to play inquiry for him by JY and JC. They find out that he's been hanging around as a ghost/river god and they're afraid he's turning resentful. Later they find out that the new bead disciple has been doing all the stuff they had suspected wwx of doing when the head disciple kills his own brother. Wwx ends up taking over the body of the brother and coming back to life to bring him justice and he gets to keep the body! Over time he starts to look more and more like himself without the wounds he died with.

Madam Yu gets frozen as punishment for all her bull.

LZ and WWX end up getting married and on their wedding night they go to the jin sect and check on JZ who they find out has been getting poisoned by MY who was setting up MZ.

They also find the wen remnants at a labor camp and save them.

I will try to summarise as best I can..The fic is based in a modern world, but the rivalry in cultivation sects still exist. It starts with Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian as college roommates, where LWJ is very introverted and one day he gets hurt/beaten up by the Wen clan and WWX takes care of him, then he slowly starts warming up and spending time with WWX's friends - NHS, MianMian and JC. Few years later, he surfaces again with a whole new identity (I think as MXY?) as a pretend fiance of a long-lost Wen descendant to try and overthrow the tyranny of WRH. He looks exactly like WWX but they manage to convince everyone he is not and just has an uncanny resemblance to him. LWJ is convinced it is actually WWX but WWX keeps his distance to keep LWJ safe. Eventually the truth comes out when the whole friend group decides to go out on a holiday and play a game of drunken truth and dare. Here WWX confesses his first love and how they got together in college which gives him away; he stops trying to pretend he isn't WWX. There is a very sweet reunion scene with LWJ and WWX but it ends up with them arguing. At this holiday, they get attacked by goons sent by the Wens and WWX get out to defend them - this point is where I lost the fic :'( @wingedangelthing

And he ends up swearing not to use cultivation of any variety and becomes the prisoner of the Nie, but JGY threatens Jin Ling and Jiang Yanli if he shares any secrets he shouldn't and also arranges for his letters to be stolen.

There's also a scene where WWX comes clean to LXC about no longer having a golden core because LXC was trying to get him to play cleansing for NMJ and won't take no for an answer until WWX tells him that he *can't*

Wei Ying is starting a new (music, I think) school and ends up in a fancy, soundproofed suite with lan zhan as a room mate. At first he thinks LZ is ignoring him, but eventually figures out that LZ is deaf and just wears the headphones to keep most people from approaching him because he doesn't want people to know. Wei Ying begins learning sign language and adjusts his interactions with Lan Zhan to account for his inability to hear without letting on that he knows.

Later in the fic, they end up playing music together, they get together, there's a dinner or something with Lan Quiren, and Wei Ying finds out that Lan Zhan had specifically chosen WY out of the prospective options to be his room mate, but I can't remember the exact reason. The students hold out against the invading Wens with creativity (WWX), cunning (NHS) and sheer body mindedness (everyone else LOL). The scene I recall most is that WWX has a plan involving resentful energy and is voted down. Eventually the defenders get driven into the caves, with LQR being tortured outside and he refused to give them up. LZ turns to WWX and says what was that plan again? Eventually, the Nies show up to help drive out the Wens. I'm searching a fanfic that i read sometime ago, it was from Cloud Recesses Days where WWX teased LWJ soo much that LWJ had to put silencing spell on WWX which he didn't knew was too strong, that result WWX's lips get sealed (poor wwx) and LWJ couldn't undo it. Untitled Fantasy Tale Dump

In the land of Chi, humans are constantly at odds with creatures called GuǐYù (鬼蜮), and rely on masked guardians to guard the border between the two domains; these special forces are known as the Miànjù Guard. At the beginning of the story, a girl named Han Jian becomes a member of the Miànjù Guard after her village of Shihua is attacked by a GuǐYù which her father, Wuhan, sacrifices himself to destroy. Years later, Jian is sent out along with her friend, Fan Yimu, to investigate suspicious GuǐYù activity in the nearby forest. There, the two manage to rescue an unconscious pajama-clad boy, a runaway from the mansion of Xin Fu, from the GuǐYù, discovering that he has golden blood. When they return to base with the boy, he is taken into custody by a team of alchemists led by Dr. Zhuan Yan, who intends to experiment on the boy’s blood. Haunted by the fate the boy will suffer, Jian and Yimu formulate a plan to rescue him. They break into the laboratory and free him from confinement, but the lab's alarms are triggered, forcing them to make a quick escape in a motorized cart. While hiding in a mountain cave, Jian has a dream in which she is approached by a female GuǐYù named Dǎo, who takes the form of an elfin girl. Dǎo informs Jian that unless humanity stops fighting the GuǐYù, great calamity will occur, and that the boy, Mingli, is the perfect hybrid of human and GuǐYù, and thus Chi’s last hope for survival. Meanwhile, Xin Fu informs Jin Shuren, the head of the Miànjù Guard, of Mingli’s disappearance; Shuren sends out the fast-talking Meng Delan, a tracker, after Jian and Yimu. Skeptical of Delan’s success, Xin Fu sends his right-hand man, Gong He, as well. Jian and Yimu are accosted by the owners of the cave, a group of GuǐYù that try to keep Mingli for themselves. However, Mingli awakens, causing a burst of light that distracts the GuǐYù long enough for the two girls to escape with him. The flash also attracts the attention of Delan and He, who interrogate the GuǐYù and learn which direction the three are headed. Jian, Yimu and Mingli make their way to the town of Qihou, where they disguise themselves. When Delan and He arrive, demanding that their targets be surrendered in exchange for a huge sum of money, the trio are betrayed by the shopkeeper who helped disguise them and are forced to flee. They escape with the help of a flying GuǐYù whom Mingli earlier befriended, and whom he names Fēi. Shuren and Xin Fu, upon hearing of Delan and He’s failure, hire an assassin, Shi Zhenya, to assist the two in tracking down the “fugitives”. Flying on Fēi, Jian, Yimu and Mingli search for Mingli’s parents. They are spotted by Delan, He and Zhenya, who shoot them down, injuring Fēi. Guided by a GuǐYù sent by Dǎo, they arrive at a cottage owned by a Luo Cheng, who recognizes Mingli as his son, whom Xin Fu had told him was dead. He invites them to dinner while Fēi recuperates, but before he can reveal the identity of Mingli’s mother, Delan, He and Zhenya ambush the cottage. In the ensuing fight, Cheng is mortally wounded by Zhenya. In his grief, Mingli fully transforms into a GuǐYù and attacks Zhenya, but is captured by Delan and He, who tell Jian and Yimu that they are no longer members of the Miànjù Guard. Dǎo appears and reveals that Mingli is her son, and that his capture will spark a revolution against the humans by the GuǐYù. After burying Cheng’s body, Jian and Yimu race back to Shihua on a fully healed Fēi to find the GuǐYù invading the town, with the Miànjù Guard on the losing end of the battle. They make their way to the facility where Mingli is being held, where Yan, in an argument with Xin Fu, realizes that Xin Fu plans to use Mingli for a sinister purpose. Xin Fu has He force Yan to use Mingli’s blood in a potion that will allow whoever drinks it to become a powerful being capable of controlling GuǐYù. Jian and Yimu interrupt and a battle between the two girls and Zhenya and He ensues, ending with the two men’s defeat. However, Xin Fu drinks the potion, which transforms him into an enormous dragon-like GuǐYù who takes Mingli hostage and terrifies the GuǐYù into ceasing their attack on the humans. Jian and Yimu battle Xin Fu and, with the help of Fēi, trick him into climbing the Tiāntáng Spire. When he gets to the top, the tower starts to become unstable and causes the top of the tower to fall, with Xin Fu falling to his death. As the townspeople and GuǐYù gather around Xin Fu’s massive corpse, Jian finds Mingli, in his human form, who appears dead as well until he is awoken by her tears. He then tells the GuǐYù not to attack the humans anymore. Chi becomes a peaceful place, with the humans and GuǐYù coexisting peacefully, and the Miànjù Guard becomes a regular police force. Jian and Yimu are made members once again, and Jian and Mingli begin a relationship.

The story takes place in the Hieronymus Bosch-esque fantasy land of Alhem. Ever since her parents were lost at sea, Sophie Wiegman has been under the guardianship and mentorship of the witch Veerle Dakhorst, whose no-nonsense attitude frustrates the girl. One night, a gang of notorious marauders, the Fangs, raid Veerle’s house. In the last moments before her capture, Veerle sends Sophie away with a mysterious parchment as the house is destroyed. Walking alone the next morning, Sophie meets conman Honest Bart, and rescues the birdlike creature Bo from him. In return for rescuing her, and offering her friendship, Bo insists on tagging along to show Sophie the way to the capital city of Emmond, which Sophie agrees to, due to her being lost. The two arrive in Emmond, where they meet young palaeographer Chiel Reitema, who reveals the parchment to be a map to the fabled Elixir of Miracles, which is what the Fangs are after. Sophie realizes that she can use the Elixir’s properties to find the lost Princess Mariet of Alhem, who vanished as an infant during a failed assassination of King Kobus Goldenbelt, and the three resolve to find it. Meanwhile, the leader of the Fangs, Vincent Moman, interrogates the captive Veerle, learning that Sophie has the map. He and his men set out after the girl, meeting Honest Bart along the way and gaining his help. Seeking an audience with Kobus, the trio promise to return Mariet, and he gives his consent. They thus set out to find a means of reaching the legendary island of Tilmere, where the Elixir is hidden, meeting pilot Walter Lammers, who owns a dirigible, in a tavern. Walter refuses to help until the Fangs storm the tavern, and the group escape to the dirigible and take off. On their journey to find Tilmere, they are attacked by sky pirates, who almost kidnap Bo and inadvertently lead them to a floating shrine, kept by the oracle Lore, who reveals that Bo is under a spell. In return for his advice on how to reach Tilmere, the group drive out a pair of troublesome batlike demons, whereupon Lore tells them to fly through the Gauntlet Pass. Arriving there, they are endangered by the various obstacles within, but are led to safety by an inhabitant of Tilmere named Ymir, though their dirigible crashes on the shores of the island. While Walter stays with the dirigible to repair it, the others follow Ymir to his home city of Tildaal, where its good-hearted king, Rolin Lux, agrees to let them stay. However, the Fangs, having followed them in their own dirigible, arrive on Tilmere, capturing Walter and destroying his dirigible. They then follow the group’s trail to Tildaal, where they warn Rolin of the group’s quest for the island’s sacred Elixir of Miracles. Reluctantly, Rolin has the unwary group imprisoned, but Ymir frees them from the dungeon, while Walter and Veerle manage to escape, overpower their guards and reunite with the others. The group chase the Fangs to the chamber where a large cauldron of the Elixir is kept, but are too late to stop Moman from drinking some of it. The Elixir, revealing his true wickedness, transforms him into a four-armed monster. Embracing his new form, he betrays his men before turning on Sophie, who is forced to do battle with the transformed marauder while the others use the Elixir to create a “crystallizing spear” from a discarded javelin. As Bo attacks Moman to distract him, Chiel tosses the spear to Sophie, who throws it, but only grazes him. However, this is enough to crystallize Moman, and he falls to the floor and is killed, his body shattering. Bo falls into the cauldron, and emerges in her true form: the princess Mariet, much to everyone’s surprise. Veerle reveals that her mother, in order to protect the infant princess from Kobus’ would-be usurper, transformed her into a half-bird creature, but lost her shortly after. At first, Mariet is shocked to learn this, but her friends help her to accept her destiny, though she requests that she be referred to as “Bo” as a nickname. After Tilmere celebrates the heroes, they return to Emmond in the Fangs’ dirigible, along with Ymir, and Mariet reunites with her parents. Overjoyed, the land breaks out in celebration, and Veerle praises Sophie for her heroism. Watching the friends in a vision created by the Elixir, Rolin comments that he might summon them if ever Tilmere needs them again. As Ymir and Mariet become a couple, so do Sophie and Chiel.

Mia Valenzuela is an imaginative and expressive girl, but this causes trouble at her school. After an incident with her book assignment, her parents consider sending her to a juvenile detention summer camp to straighten out her wild personality. That night, Mia wakes up in a dream-like state and leaves her house to find the musician Iago. As he tries to perform for Mia, a shadow-like demon encroaches on the area, and Iago helps to quickly direct her to safety through the use of magical origami birds. Mia learns they are in the city of Curio, which is under threat of being plunged into war against the realm of Dormire. Soon Mia is mistaken for a spy, and she and Iago are taken to Prime Minister Cicero FitzEdgar, who explains that a thief from Dormire stole a protective amulet from Curio, leaving Queen Dion in a state of unnatural slumber and Curio vulnerable to attack. Mia notes the resemblance of Dion to her mother, and offers to help recover the amulet along with Iago. They are unaware their actions are being watched by Menelaus Brutus, tyrant king of Dormire. Mia and Iago attempt to stay ahead of Brutus’ forces as they follow clues to the amulet, learning that it is called the "Philosopher’s Key". Mia discovers that by looking through the windows of the buildings, she can see into her house in the real world through mirrors. She discovers that a doppelgänger of herself is living there and behaving differently from her. Iago betrays Mia to Brutus in exchange for a large reward of treasure, and Brutus, knowing that Mia is from the real world, reveals that he is also seeking the Philosopher’s Key, which he had sent the thief to steal to conquer Curio, only for the thief to betray him. He tries to make Mia swallow a drug in order to remove her memories and warp her mind. Iago has a change of heart and rallies the widely varied citizens of Curio to help him rescue Mia. He gives away his gold and jewels, and the townsfolk build him a plane, which he flies to Brutus’ palace, while Mia manages to escape. She realizes that her doppelganger in the real world is the thief and confronts her. The thief, Silvia, confesses to have been a slave who ran away from Brutus and decided to live Mia's life as her parents were so kind to her. Repentant, she returns to Dormire to help Mia, giving her the Philosopher’s Key. After they rejoin Iago, Brutus pursues them to Iago’s flying castle, but falls to his death, impaled on a crooked spire. Curio celebrates the demise of Brutus, Queen Dion finally awakens and the two lands are restored to their natural balance. Silvia becomes queen of Dormire, and she and Iago use the Philosopher’s Key to send Mia to the real world. Sometime later, Mia becomes fascinated by a boy named Bret, who strongly resembles Iago.

A grandmother reads a storybook to her grandchildren, who initially dismiss the story.

The huge kingdom of Koura is ruled by King Cadwallon Blautilla. He is a heartless ruler, hated by his people as much as he hates them. The protagonist, teenage thief Max Coins, is hired by the twins Taylor and Tyler Kostock to infiltrate Blautilla’s castle and retrieve his mysterious prized possession. He makes his way to the king’s apartment, only to find that the “treasure” is a slave girl named Celia, a “living philosopher's stone”, with the power to create gold from ordinary metal with a touch. To reach her, Max confronts Blautilla’s scheming vizier, Jasos Matuku, in a battle of wits. His attempt to trick Matuku into drinking a transformation potion is foiled when a honeybee from Blautilla’s garden, B-2109, consumes it and becomes a human girl, forcing Max to resort to rendering the former unconscious. He then forces Matuku’s assistant, Papilio, to lead him to Celia. Blautilla, alerted to Max’s presence, orders the guards to attack the thief as he kidnaps Papilio and escapes with Celia and B-2109, who takes the name Bibi. Matuku, having regained consciousness, takes this opportunity to depose Blautilla and order the capture of the escapees. When the guards catch up with the group, Papilio, frustrated at being ignored, inadvertently saves Max’s life. In gratitude, Max allows Papilio to accompany the group as they make their way through Koura. After being discovered by the kingdom’s Chief of Security, the group lose their pursuers and flee to the bridge leading to land. Meanwhile, Matuku summons a mecha originally built for Blautilla, ambushing the group and betraying Papilio. As Celia is recaptured, the others end up falling off the bridge and into catacombs leading to the lower city, where the inhabitants have never seen the sun. As they make their way back to the upper levels, they pass through an insectarium, where Bibi, who has regained her bee wings, convinces the resident bugs to help save Celia. The group reunites with the twins, who reveal that Celia is their abducted sister whom they have been trying to rescue. As the others stop Matuku before he can extract Celia’s powers through a fatal process, Bibi, the insectarium inhabitants and the other bees from her hive take control of the mecha and start destroying the castle. Once the castle is in rubble, the furiously deranged Matuku seriously injures Papilio and attacks Max and Celia, but Papilio uses the last of his strength to hurl a stone block onto him, sending the tyrant falling into the crocodile-infested moat to be eaten. Everyone escapes to safety in a boat while Bibi returns to her bee form and the recovering Papilio, unsure what to do with his life now, is offered by Max to become his partner. The story ends with the newly-wed Max and Celia, along with Papilio, the various bugs and others participating in a group photo.

The children eagerly ask their grandmother to read them the story again the next day, to which she agrees.
