When you meet your soulmate you both feel it, you know down to your bones that this person was meant to be with you for life, if you’re unable to find them before you pass on, your ghosts will be unable to locate each other in the afterlife. The Fentons tried to make a way to locate your soulmate using ectoplasm, unfortunately for Danny he’s the only one in the family yet to find his. Jazz actually found hers when she started school in Gotham, some guy named Jason, if Danny remembered correctly. They try some experiments with Danny and something works just not as intended as with every piece of Fenton tech. Danny wakes up in an unfamiliar room and in an unfamiliar body. Looking around, it appears his soulmate is rich, he’s got to call his soulmate and explain the situation. He’s not looking forward to explaining his powers to them but if they’re going to be in his body best to let them know what to expect from Danny’s weird biology.

Damian woke up to an unfamiliar ringtone in an unfamiliar room. Assessing the situation he noticed the number from the phone was actually his own. Might as well answer it to see if he could get some answers.

Dp x Dc writing idea

So I’ve seen a few that revolve around body swaps so angst idea…

Danny has been held captive in GIW compound for a while and is kinda losing hope a bit. He comes back after a brutal experiment and is just laying in his cell talking to the other ghosts in the cells around him to keep his mind off the blood slowly leaving his body. Starts talking about his life before the Fentons, his Mother and brother and the League. He makes the off handed comment of “you know I really miss my twin, I wish I could see him one last time” and of course Desiree a few cells down hears this wish and thinks, well this is a great way to get out of here if I spin this right. She snaps her fingers and Danny blinks.

Next thing he knows he’s sitting at a dining table with a nice half-eaten meal in front of him. The fork clatters on the table as he drops it. The rest of the table looks at him.

“What?” He tries to process what is happening.

“Damian?”

Holy shit, is that Father? Wait- Did he just say Damian? Danny lunges toward the closest reflective surface he sees, a serving plate, and tosses food across the table as he lifts it to see his reflection. Yep, that’s Damian’s face last time he remembered.

“What is your problem, Demon Brat?” A guy a little older shouts.

“Fuck.” The whole table freezes and stares at him with wide eyes. He doesn’t even care as the panic sets in. “Fuck, shit, fuck, motherfucking, oh my- FUCK!”

The server makes an awful sound as it drops back to the table.

“No. No no no no- fuck! This wasn’t supposed to happen. This isn’t what I wanted.”

“…What’s happened?” Father asks slowly, obviously noticing that he isn’t Damian.

Danny zeroes in on him, eyes wide with panic. His hand shoots out to grab Bruce Wayne’s shirt in urgency. The rest of the table react in defense until Bruce raises a hand to stop them.

“Father, we need to save Damian. Desiree fucked with my wish and switched our bodies. We have to go.”

The man stares back with confusion and contemplation.

“Who is Desiree?”

“She’s a genie. She was captured, same as me. She has to grant any wish she hears, but Damian doesn’t know that. We need to go rescue him and make Desiree change us back.”

“Who are you?”

Danny huffs because they were wasting time with all these questions. Damian is surely hurting in Danny’s body.

“Danny. Formally Danyal Al Ghul. Damian’s twin brother. And he’s probably in a lot of pain right now so if we could go that would be great.”

There is a stunned silent until Danny starts pulling on Father’s arm to stand and get moving.

“Like now.”

Tim gets deaged which usually wouldn't be too much of a problem considering he still has his adult mind in tact. No. The problem is that there was a child who was the same age as deaged Tim and who looks suspiciously just like him.

Oh. And they somehow got swapped.

Now Tim is stuck trying to figure out who and what Phantom is and what dimension his "lair" is in so he can escape. Tim briefly considered just talking to Phantom and explaining things (with some omissions obviously) but after seeing his eyes flash an eerily familiar green he had frozen. It didn't help that Phantom was doting and scarily overprotective of his children. Some robotic rogue with a flaming green mohawk had threatened to harm them while they were out in the stroller and Phantom took off his head with ruthless cruelty. Tim wasn't taking his chances with a bad reaction so he has more or less resigned himself to living life as a one year old along side his "twin" until he can escape.

Meanwhile Danny is getting more and more concerned that the personality of one of his kids has changed. He had been a happy and bubbly baby until he suddenly became quiet and withdrawn. Had his kid been traumatized somehow? He watches them sleep together in thier crib and wonders...

Meanwhile the bats are cooing over baby "Tim" and doing all sorts of baby activities appropriate for a one year old. The sheer amount of baby clothes everyone buys is ludicrous and I greater theres at least three Nightwing themed outfits in the pile. At least.

Damian becomes jealous of all the time people are spending with "Tim" (especially grayson) and bullys the baby for it all the while causing the baby to cry and Damian to be scolded, which only fuels his ire.

After a week of this the bats confront the person who made the device that deaged RR and found out that Tims mind should not have reverted back to a child, only his body. Damian feels victorious and claims his brother must have been faking the entire time and confront "Tim" about it...but "Tim" doesn't change his behavior. He still acts like a normal baby.

After a while of this they decide to run a dna test just to be sure. The DNA test comes back positive...on half. This shocks everyone. They run the test several more times and have to come to terms with the fact that not only is Tim out there somewhere in the body of a defenseless 1 year old baby, but they somehow got his (future?) son with them instead.

Damian has to come to terms with the fact his been bullying a litteral infant this entire time and the shame that comes with that. (It wasn't any better when you thought it was a baby Tim and Jason points that out) Damian does some self reflection and tries to make amends.

Ectoplasm=Lazarus Waters, but they only function as the respective things in their native universe. So Ra's becomes extremely Liminal in DP universe and is literally one car crash away from going Halfa. And cue Jack running him over to trigger things

Meanwhile Danny (and other ghosts) can't fire ghost rays in DC, but can waterbend ectoplasm which resurrects the dead and harms the living because it's Lazarus Waters on that side of the portal. Also, they just revive from fatal injuries because they self generate Lazarus Waters

Ra's: Talia! I won't need my emergency body swap plan anymore. Damian, you're no longer heir unless I'm completely destroyed

Oh so like a ghost's base powers change based on what universe they're in? That's pretty cool! I can imagine Frostbite taking this newfound knowledge and expanding his healing repertoire. Oo! Maybe he even becomes the Justice League's go to medic. That would be fun. And we can throw in apprentice Danny for good measure. Just this giant Yeti and his skinny little assistant spawning into battles against the Legion of Doom or Darkseid's parademons and casually phasing through enemies as they tend to the wounded with some comically toxic looking liquid.

Meanwhile on Ra's side, I really really want him to jump the gun on this one. He sees Frostbite and Danny doing all this cool stuff. He talks to them, learns a bit about ghosts from them and at the end of it they're like, "Yeah you're actually pretty ecto contaminated yourself! 😃". Now what this really means is "Hey! Did you know you're super liminal?" But Ra's takes this as "You're just like us and can use ghost powers!" So he's quick to abandon the league and all else to fully immerse himself in all things Ghost Zone related and finally achieve true immortality.

He gets to the Infinite Realms only to find out he is in fact not liminal enough to unlock any of the nifty ghost powers he so desperately craves yet at the same time, Ra's is too prideful to go home with his tail tucked between his legs (cue Ra's intentionally trying to make himself that last bit ghost adjacent to become either a halfa or a full on ghost? Plus extra hijinks if he keeps surviving instead). IDK I just think it would be hilarious if this man thinks he now has all this power at his fingertips only to fall short by a literal fraction. Make him work for his goals a little while more and all that

Lots of weird alien-sounding names & words going on here.), expanding their lore, getting some gods involved, etc. even got a whole [WorldAnvil] dedicated to it.

Meanwhile, in DPxDC land, I've submitted a bunch of writing prompts to user StealingYourBones and elaborated on a handful of them, as well as made continuations to various other prompts.

DPXDC Prompt #98

Danny had a pretty shit life. He was adopted at age 8 after Ra’s slit his throat and his mother threw him into the lazurus pit at the last second. His adopted mom Maddie liked ghosts way more than his adopted dad Jack thought she did. So when Vlad revealed he was half ghost she left Jack for him. Jack in his grief of losing his wife swears all ghosts to be evil especially Vlad. Danny does his best to hide everything from his dad but Jack has started to notice that Danny has some odd behavior from time to time.

Jack decides it’s time for him and his son to leave Amity Park for a while and head to the only other city that they were considering moving too because of the ambient ectoplasm. An invention goes wrong shortly after they move into their apartment and Danny finds himself switching bodies with his twin.

Waking up in Wayne manor was a shock for Danny he didn’t know his brother got adopted by Bruce Wayne, he’s got to sneak out of here and make it back to the apartment as soon as he can so he can switch them back he just hopes his twin won’t assume the worst with his dad.

Waking up in his supposed long dead twins body was a shock for Damian, but apparently he wasn’t at least that’s how he felt when he first woke up but their were several things going on here that didn’t make sense about his twins body. For one his body temperature was way lower than it should be, Damian didn’t need to breathe as much, and it seemed his twin somehow despite not carrying the meta gene developed powers that he very much had difficulty controlling. He’s got to get to his twin he assumes is probably also very confused at the moment.

In a fight with Desiree Tucker accidentally makes a wish. They had been talking about the newest DC game that takes place in Gotham City. Then Danny’s ghost sense goes off right as Tucker wishes they could see Gotham through the eyes of the characters in the game and they all black out.

At first Danny felt some anger that was clearly not his own and then he notices he’s in a younger body. The body of Damian Wayne or Robin. Tucker was geeking out as he was in the body of Tim Drake. The two search the manor but Sam is strangely missing. She winds up in Poison Ivys body and she is loving it. The 3 meet up and try to figure out a way home.

I head of Danny is damian fic but wasn't able to find any so I do the next best thing. Ask someone what to give what it would be like. Imagine how that would happen. Like he was always put in the pit to heal and the chaos chard that brought him back. Like say when he was brought back there was a price he was put in another place his look was affected and he doesn't have a memory the that happen but they don't find him until later you can also have him being the ghost king. Another is that he was reincarnated in the past when he was brought back to life and everything happen the same. Whatever he remembers everything or little or not is up to you.

Ok! Here's some more Daniel and Damian are the same person aus i made up here and now just for yall!

1. Danny is the reincarnation of Damian from a different dimension and doesn't remember anything. The batfamily find thier way to Amity Park after thier attempts at reviving Damian failed and they discovered it was because he had been reborn into a different world.

The batfam keep trying to convince Danny to come home with them and ghost boy is so weirded out. (This is probably going to be angsty)

2. Danny and Damian are fused together after the batfam have a run in with Desiree and Tim said to Damian, "I wish you were nicer!" And she granted the wish by making Danny and Damian fuse.

Damian is a lot nicer now, but then again its not really his brother anymore is it?

3. Body swap au where Danny-In Damians body- doesn't even try to fake it and just runs away in the middle of the night. This is made easier by him still having his invisibility and intangibility powers. Sadly the entire batclan is out to capture and interrogate the teen they believe is thier youngest sibling

Damian is having a different problem. Hes been sworn to secrecy after Tucker, Sam and Clockwork all ganged up on him to explain how important it is that no one can know about the portal or the Infinity Realms and convinced him to sit tight and wait for Danny to get here in Damians body. Valerie takes the initiative and takes Phantoms place as main ghost hunter for a while and learns to appreciate everything Phantoms done for this city (she's exhausted)

Damian is actually impressed to learn Danny escaped the batfam so quickly and is continuing to evade them.

4. Danny is reincarnated as Damian and after being thrown into the Lazarus Pit and drowning in it, he's saved by Nightwing giving him CPR and when he wakes up he remembers everything and regains his powers.

5. Soulmate au where you and your destined one can be bodyswapped at any time once every three months. Your only saving grace is that you get a distinct feeling of warning three minutes before the swap occurs.

Needless to say, shenanigans ensue.
