Just saw one of those weight loss accounts on Instagram post a pizza alternative with aubergine instead of a base and it was tagged #glutenfreepizza and I just... *sigh* Calling that thing a pizza is already taking the piss but why've they always gotta bring gluten free into it?!?!

These people promoting their healthy food as gluten free is the reason why people don't take those of us who actually need to eat gluten free for medical reasons (and who also want to enjoy simple pleasures in life such as actual pizza) seriously!

If you wanna have fun with it, you could say ‘stemgroup dinosaurs’ which is technically true, but definitely not the intended use of that term.

But it will neatly encapsulate the group you’re trying to describe.

(Broadstrokes definition: Stemgroup means members of a group which are extinct, crown group means all surviving members of the group)

I’d absolutely love to see your paleo art posted here, I first found you because of Zim but I can’t be the only follower who loves both IZ and paleo. It’d be awesome to have it shared here where one can reblog it.

I very much appreciate the sentiment and I kinda wish I could post my art here, however I have learned from the past. Last time I was focused on running an Au for GF and I got into an IZ kick, started making art and uploading it here and it kinda exploded a bit, and with that encouragement I kept going and going until I ended up shelving the GF Au I was working on. I don't want the same to happen to my PT Dib, and I'm afraid if I start posting all of the dino art I'm making I'm gonna start attracting a new audience and driving away the IZ crowd. I'm ok with posting one or two dino pics a month, but until I can finish my Au I do not want to pivot this blog to anything else.

So I remember back when gluten free became a huge fad and lots of people were really annoyed like “why would you go gluten free if you aren’t celiac! It’s just a fad and won’t help you!” Or getting mad at vegans for thinking they’re healthy by not eating meat (not what I’m here to argue). But I just want to shout out to all my vegans, gluten free, paleo etc people who have gotten really creative with recipes. When baking and cooking for people with food sensitivities, it’s usually the vegan/gf crowd that pulls through. They’ve already done the work figuring out how to substitute, and I don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time I want to make something yummy.

Not to mention the gluten free trend has made it so much easier for people who do have gluten sensitivities to buy things. And, it’s usually vegan baking hacks like chickpea water as egg replacement that helps me save money and avoid food waste. So really, I don’t care if your diet is because you think it’s healthy or because you have allergies, I’m just super grateful for all the people on the internet with alternative diets that make cooking easier for me and my family.
