Do you maybe know if there's a way to add ghost pets to your household in TS3? Hard to make a StarClan battle or have a specific ancestor visit when I can't control them 😅 (making a place with all the tombstones makes for a worthy place for my medicine cats to visit, at least. There's always 2 or 3 that come out!)

Hmm. This is an interesting question! So far, all I've done is have pet graves on the lot and summon the ghosts via NRaas DebugEnabler.

I actually have no idea if pets can be playable ghosts, and this question makes me want to go test this.

I'm pretty sure you can't do this stuff without mods. I assume if you're following my blog for Pets mods, this is not a problem for you. 😉

All this stuff involves NRaas mods, and I'll include my usual disclaimer: If you don't run with NRaas Overwatch and ErrorTrap, you NEED THESE MODS! They fix EA bugs and lag.

ANYWAY.....

Try Making an actual playable ghost

What I'd try out on a test save is using NRaas MasterController to set the Occult of a living pet to ghost. With MC installed, click the sim in question, then Select NRaas-> MasterController-> Intermediate-> Occult and choose an occult for the pet.

I haven't tried to do this yet, but I'm going to try it out when I load my game next because I am super-curious. I'm pretty sure EA did not expect pets to ever be playable ghosts, so it's quite possible that doing this could bork up something. I wouldn't test it out on a save you care about. It's also possible that the option won't be available in MC because it's just not possible to even try.

2. Bring out the gravestone ghost you want on command

If you just want a specific ghost to visit as an unplayable ghost, you could use NRaas DebugEnabler.

With DebugEnabler installed, click the gravestone and select NRaas-> DebugEnabler-> Options-> Spawn Ghost. This will pop out the ghost that goes with the gravestone.

I have done this a lot, especially to test death conditions in my mods, and it works great.

3. Make a normal sim LOOK LIKE a ghost

If you're looking for something that's more the APPEARANCE of a ghost than an actual ghost, you can also use DebugEnabler. Click the sim and select NRaas-> DebugEnabler-> Options (it might say Options Smartphone)-> Death-> Apply Ghost Shader. Then you can select which of the bajillion death types to use. You're not limited to the GoodPet and BadPet shaders, thank goodness. This will give the sim the glowy appearance of a ghost, but it will otherwise be a normal sim. It won't float or do anything ghostly, and it won't have the visual effects like dripping water for drowned ghosts. You also have to do this every time you load the game AFAIK.

I have also done this a lot with both pet and human sims. I did it with some playable ghost human sims in my legacy game when I wanted to *remove* their ghost shaders, and it's not really that much of a pain if you want to play with a certain look.

Preface - by asking this, I'm not saying that you should/I want you to/anything like that! Now, question - ever thought of writing a Peter/stiles or Jackson/stiles fic? I am OBSESSED with your sterek but you write goodpeter and stackson-brotp so wonderfully that I couldn't help but wonder!

ANON WHY WOULD YOU TEMPT ME LIKE THIS?!

Okay, not gonna lie, there was like, one time where I was thinking about it, because I had an idea that was just flgklfdgj;sdfljg;sdljfb IT WORKED SO WELL WITH PETER! But then I thought about it more and my heart is so torn because no, no. Sterek. Always Sterek. If I wrote a Steter (or a Stackson), Derek would have to not exist in that universe and that seems like a TRAGEDY. Depriving the world of a precious little nugget like Derek. 

So while yes, I have had some “ahaha, this fic won’t work because that doesn’t suit Derek but............................. -side eyes-” I always inevitably just sigh and put it in the discard pile. IT’S NOT LIKE I’M HURTING FOR FIC IDEAS RN so I can afford to toss a few of them away ahahaha |D (I legit have 71 fic ideas and 18 WIPs, send help ._.) 

But on that note, THANK YOU so much anon!!!! I do love writing nice!Peter because he’s like, he’s NICE, but he’s still cunning and malicious and kind of in it for himself except when Stiles is involved because we all know he has a soft spot for Stiles. And Jackson is just such a secret softie. Like, everyone in this show is secretly a softie YOU CANNOT CHANGE MY MIND! Jackson is just more of a dick about it, and he’s fun to write. So yes, I love both of them dearly, and I love them being friends with Stiles, but sadly Derek is always whining in a corner of my mind whenever my brain goes in another direction and that boy has been through ENOUGH without me taking away his Stiles from him, too! lol 

But thank you for asking anon, this was a fun little ramble for me since I am still, as always, sleep-deprived and insane :) <3<3<3<3
