Familiar: A scruffy, fat Hamster with one eye named Shio (after the Ramen).

Go-to Spell: ‘Accio’ as she has the tendency to always lose things in her haste and excitement.

Favourite Professor: Sakumo Hatake- he seems to have a lot of faith in her abilities and is always warm and patient towards her, making her enjoy his given lessons a lot; even though her potions always seem to turn brown or bubble over the brim of her cauldron. She also has a high regard for Mitō Uzumaki, not due to their blood relation but due to all of the witch’s many accomplishments (she was after all Order of Merlin: First Class).

Family Members:

Least Favourite Professor: Danzo Shimūra, that mummy was a super grouch, ya know! And he was always staring at her friends whenever he thought that they weren’t looking.

Both of her parents are deceased. She currently lives with her aunt and cousins (of which she has a few, both direct and twice removed, since her family had a tendency to marry into other prominent, Pure Blood families)

Character Habbits/Characteristics: Kushina has a bottomless pit of energy, always talking and always on the move. It’s not surprising that she is the first one to wake within her dorm every morning. She carries her emotions on her sleeve and has a notable, verbal tic when flustered or excited. She’s headstrong and not easily swayed in her beliefs. She enjoys cooking and always uses her friends as testing dummies whenever she comes up with a new recipe. Since joining the Hogwarts knitting club she’s been drowning all of those willing and unwilling in outrageously colourful knitwear ranging from scarves to wand-warmers. Though mostly Cheerful and level-headed, she is also quick to anger at any injustice show or things she finds off-putting like Peeves, the Baron or Jiraiya’s voyeurisms. Though not academically keen, Kushina possesses unusually fast reactions; a light touch and an easy adaptability between both offensive and defensive magic, marking her as an impeccable duellist.

Friends/Known Acquaintances: With her tomboyish demeanour she really struggled to make friends during her first year at Hogwarts. It took a blonde Flake to see passed her fists and infuriated scowls and the patient encouragement of her professors, before she finally found her niche and started to talk to other people instead of stomping on them. Now she has lots of friends and was even a member of (all of the important) Hogwarts Clubs. Now stomping was left for the Quidditch Pitch, only.

Physical Traits: Her most notable traits are her flowing red hair (there was just so much of it) and her violet eyes. She could also pack a punch more powerful and damaging than her thin wrists and slender fingers would suggest.

Dream for the Future: Her dream is to one day be as well-respected and powerful as Professor Mito (a true idol for all young Witches) and for all of her friends to be happy and healthy.

Thanks so much for the challenge! I have only written five fics so I'll narrow it down to 3. In no particular order:

1) Coming Back to Life- which I really need to finish, simply because it's my first long work and is actually getting a decent response.

2) Beyond the Veil- because it's so much fun working on it with Ashes and it's a lot of fun working on a story so close to canon while differing from it in major ways.

3) Red + Yellow= Orange- because it's got all the feels and I feel like it covers an important emotional gap in canon, that is, regarding Kakashi's relationship to Minato and Kushina and reconciling that with Naruto.

i think naruto is a hufflepuff, even though he doesn't have a lot of patience lol. but he values hard work above anything and he really works his ass off. he is really kind or at least tries to be, and loyalty is his second name.

for hinata, i think most people see her as hufflepuff too and i don't exactly disagree but i also see her as a gryffindor. my girl is brave to the point of recklessness. she was really Ready To Die just to prove a point at the chunnin exams. if this isn't gryffindor behavior...

the kids i find harder because they're still growing (duh) and changing but for now i think boruto would be a gryffindor like his momma, he's really daring and courageous and sometimes pretty reckless too. but he has a heart of gold.

hima screams ravenclaw to me? i find her really smart and creative, she is really perceptive, learns quickly and understands things well. she has the most braincells in that house, i swear.

kushina is also a gryffindor. what can i say??? i don't even know how to explain. she just has the energy.

minato is a slytherin for me. cunning, intelligent, determined and ready to do what it needs to be done.

iruka is a ravenclaw, the way he dealt with naruto and his other students most of the time showed me how much wisdom he has. the way he approached naruto when jiraiya died was not only an act of love and kindness but deep understanding of the grief he was going through.

kurama is a slytherin. i can't elaborate on that

Suoh Mikoto

Suoh Mikoto is a pureblood Gryffindor student at Hogwarts. He is close with Kusanagi Izumo, Yata Misaki, and Kushina Anna. Although he is a pureblood, he doesn’t brag about it like some other pureblood families do. He doesn’t really care about that stuff. A mysterious event including muggle-born Totsuka Tatara (one of his closest friends) happened a couple years ago, known as the Kagutsu Crater Incident, which resulted in Tatara’s death. Mikoto is known to get touchy if anyone mentions it. He is known to be a rival of Reishi Munakata. Mikoto is seen as the “bad boy” type, so not many people approach him. However, he is the cause of many broken hearts and cases of unrequited love. He skips class a lot, irking perfect turned Head Boy Reisi Munakata. Mikoto is often put in detention for arguing with Munakata, sleeping in or skipping class, and talking back to teachers. His grades are surprisingly good, though the same cannot be said for his class participation. He copies off of Kusanagi and Munakata most of the time. Mikoto enjoys pranking Munakata, though most of the time, they don’t work. He never goes home during breaks because he has a rough relationship with his family. They want him to continue their legacy as a pureblood family, but he couldn’t care less about it. Mikoto’s parents dislike his friendship with Yata Misaki because he is a muggleborn. Mikoto oftens sends news to his parents about how a muggleborn, Reisi Munakata, ended up being the Head Boy, to annoy them. He also rejected their idea of an arranged marriage to Seri Awashima, a member of a pureblood family, partially because his friend Kusanagi liked her, but also to spite his parents.

Go-to Spell: The 'Disillusionment Charm' was the first thing Jiraiya perfected as it enabled him to better blend into the girl’s lavatory. He has yet to find a way to best the staircase leading to the Gryffindor Girl’s Dorm, however-but it is a work in progress.

Least Favourite Professor: Tobirama Senju, the man had no sense of humour.

Subjects: Potions, Charms (Favoured ⭐), Transfiguration, Astronomy, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures (Favoured ⭐), Defence Against the Dark Arts, Flying (Favoured ⭐), Muggle-Studies (Favoured ⭐), Divination.

Clubs: If Detention was a club- he would be in it; Duel Club--does not have much time for anything else in between his voyeurisms, punishments and mapping out possible book ideas.

Likes: The Prefect’s Bathroom on the 5th floor, Hogsmeade Weekends, adventure books, quidditch practice, working on ideas for his own novels, trickle tarts, the occasional sneaky sip of Fire Whiskey (he knows someone who is someone at the Hogshead) , Kabuki poses, toads, he also has a few muggle magazines stashed in his trunk (mostly of a questionable nature) since he knows it will annoy Tsunade and Kushina. Riling up people is definitely his second favourite pastime. He’s on a ‘best buddies for life’ standing with Peeves the Poltergeist. No one knows how this came about.

Friends/Known Acquaintances: With his boisterous, friendly personality Jiraiya is friends with most of the students within his year, as well as a few of the younger students. The students in the years above him (more so the female students) tend to avoid him as much as possible, since he has a habit of spying on them under the pretext of gathering intel for his soon to be published novels or essays.

Physical Traits: Tall, bulky, with spikey white hair. His uniform is also in various stages of disarray. Tucking in his shirt or fastening his tie is a foreign concept.

Character Habbits/Characteristics: Generally light hearted and gregarious; Jiraiya is known to make numerous jokes at his own expense, though never at others. He’s fiercely loyal to his House and feels immense guilt over the fact that he’s constantly costing Gryffindor House Points. He has a knack for holding up his classes since he loves making dramatic, winded introductions and entrances. He makes a point of always disappearing on his friends as soon as the tab arrives during Hogsmeade Weekends, resulting in them having to pay for his drinks and overly priced snacks. He’s horrible at the theoretical aspect of studying, finding it exceptionally difficult to memorise course work, but he excels at the physical aspect of magic, especially Charms.

Dream for the Future: He would like to travel the world, both magical and muggle and go on various adventures worth remembering -living by no one’s rules but his own.

But Gryffindor Hinata, Hufflepuff Choji, Ravenclaw Orochimaru and Slytherin Neji are all valid and beautiful and correct decisions.

(I’m doing this as a separate post rather than a reblog as the other post was getting so long.)

First off let me say that I love Suna-as-Durmstrang as a concept, since we’ve got the whole “You thought Konoha/Hogwarts was fucky but BOY HOWDY wait til you see the Nazi fuckery they’ve been grappling with in Suna/Durmstrang” thing.

But if we are in Hogwarts, I see Kankurou at eleven as having a certain amount of middle child syndrome, exacerbated/twisted by coming from an exceptionally messed up situation. There’s a large amount of headcanon here, granted, but I subscribe to the school of thought that the puppet jutsu was internally considered as lesser compared to ability to manipulate wind jutsu and sand/gold dust/iron. Kankurou was older than Gaara (who wasn’t even born) yet he was passed over as a jinchuuriki, why? Some kind of unsuitability/inferiority? I tend to operate on a headcanon that Temari was otherwise suitable but female (and Suna was extremely sexist, as stated explicitly by Chiyo) and Kankurou was male but unsuitable, and that’s why Rasa was pushing Karura to get pregnant again right away (the three siblings are right on top of each other in age, bare minimum for having sex after childbirth, which is Not Good for the mother’s health, and it makes sense about Gaara’s pregnancy issues).

So Kankurou’s got the paradoxical combination of resentment yet also the freedom of being regarded as semi-expendable/unimportant. And I can see that coming out in choosing to get sorted against the family tradition of Slytherin. And for an artistic boy Ravenclaw is very natural.

Temari at that age wouldn’t do that--she was very (very very VERY) responsible (and desperate for validation of her worth).

Minato and Kushina are genderswapped Hinata and Naruto, change my mind; so they’re both idealistic Gryffs as well. Minato is the perfect Prince Charming type. A little lacking in actual ideas and their implementation. He needed some Ravenclaws, Slytherins, and Hufflepuffs to ground him (which Naruto has/should have in Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Iruka). I don’t believe Kushina actually wanted to be Hokage--she just wanted to say FUCK YOU, I’LL RUN YOU FUCKERS SOME DAY as her self-introduction to her peers in a foreign land, iconic Gryffindor.

Hiruzen I see as Ravenclaw for two reasons, 1. he likes to think of himself as an intellectual and I think that went all the way back and 2. he wanted to be like Tobirama who was probably, like, Ravenclaw god.
