Ngl, would be kinda cool to imagine an idea of lis2 sifu AU(but this game(lis2) is so suck that It won't let It work😒specially on aspect of the villans idk who can be💦),(sigh), okay, lets think, the main characters I not even need to say who will be, do I?, this yang, his our main characters big brother...sooo It all points to sean(but its kinda weird taking in consideration we also have a "sean" in the game, tho sean doesn't look like neither of them, tho "I tired of this shit"(this a dialogue of this sean(sifu)) is a very sean(lis2 sean) thing to say😒, and the older version of this yang doesn't combine with the older version of sean(that could be him from bb I guess?), It doesn't need to be coherent to the original characters, lets pretend sean being this yang so It makes more sense with Daniel, the vengeance, like, Daniel would be avenging who? Because in the logic of the game, the main characters are avenging their father's death, so Daniel would be avenging...Esteban?😒(spongebob hawaiian cocktail playing in background), sorry!! I just don't like esteban(I respect him as sean and daniel's father, but I don't care about him), I mean this one kind makes sense, the problem is that I DON'T LIKE ESTEBAN💦(and the visual gets me too, our main characters father is an old man, I mean esteban is an old man too, but our main characters father looks like a grandpa and Esteban looks like "a daddy😩👌"or dilf(I don't like much this word), tho playing the opening again ngl I found the old man kinda good looking, he's an old man of respect, I prefer the old man than Esteban😒), this fajar, this one is easy, for me super combine to be the gangster/short dude that got fucked up both in bb and lw(cuz I feel this dude have a tension with daniel, the same way our main characters have a tension with this fajar because he is the one that killed them, so they have this fear, but also this hate/rage towards him), actually all the three First bosses could be portrayed by the gang members If you want, the short dude would be this fajar, the big bald dude this sean and the girl could be this kuroki, this one makes sense cuz those are characters I could Cleary see daniel messing with, its just funny cuz they are very random, okay, but if you want some important characters, this fajar for me super combines this dude, this sean unfortunaly idk, this kuroki if you want It could be lyla😒(the problem is that daniel likes this bitch and y'know... our main characters kill them!, so daniel would never😩👌, although daniel in the beggining also liked cassidy and then he almost killed her, so I kinda don't doubt It🙄, one of the things that make lyla combine with this kuroki for me, its that both of them combine with the word "bitch", I feeling kinda bad to associate this kuroki with this word 😅but it kinda combines with her, but ofc way more to lyla, ugh, I don't like this girl), the old lady I mean this jinfeng, tsc, its very obvious who combine to be, lisbeth!, even the way our main characters kill this jinfeng is exactly alike the way Daniel kills lisbeth and I never notice that, I mean I founded similar when I saw it, but its more similar than I thought(i always thought that our main characters killed this jinfeng by hanging her, but playing again and again now I see that they actually break/crack her neck, thats what kills her, which exactly what daniel's do when he kills lisbeth, and both deaths/scenes are kinda creppy, our main characters is a cool creppy, daniel's to me its a bad creppy(I have a trauma with this scene/episode 4 in general💦), but I will accept for the sake of coherence😓(jokes asides, what makes lyla have something in common with this kuroki is that both have some sadness/mental problem(like depression!? idk what this kuroki have, but she has/had something and lisbeth and this jinfeng are both very gredy old ladies)

FOR SURE lmao i made. a diagram. just a warning that i am going to be irritating and long winded because u just hit a topic i really like sorry lmao

so first off i did some traces just to show whats there vs redraws to show my interpretation

ive said this on other asks but again jsyk, tracing isnt bad!! its a tool. theres some stuff with intellectual property and whatnot but using tracing to study shapes and forms is a really valuable practice.

also just taking some time to learn facial structures and anatomy is super useful, reading what bones and muscles are where and how they interact with one another. taking this info and staring in the mirror and moving your face around and thinking about it. just really furthers understanding of how the face works. trying to sound normal about this but i love anatomy and motion and physics and whatever

anyways im going to go through all the numbered points so there's no confusion. 1. forehead lines - self explanatory. more prominent when brows are raised 2. crows feet - at the outer corners of the eyes, more prominent when smiling or squinting 3. nasolabial folds - the folds that go from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. more prominent when the mouth is wide, like smiling 4. brow furrow - self explanatory, most prominent when brows are furrowed. mccoy tends to have two right next to his eyebrows, kirk has one in the middle. everyones face works different lmao 5. chin crease - caused by how the chin and lower lip interact. 6. nasojugal groove - start from the inner corners of the eye and can extent over the cheeks. everyone has these and idk why people dont like them i think theyre really cool!!!! but Society. i guess. :/ 7. eye bags - caused by the skin sagging beneath the eyes. mccoy isnt even that old in tos i think hes meant to be mid 40s by the end of the 5 year mission, hes just got really prominent eye bags lmao 8. idk what the name is for these, but when the mouth is wide and pushes the skin to the sides, these folds sometimes form outside of the nasolabial folds 9. philtrum - the groove above the upper lip. i dont usually draw this but mccoy's struck me as prominent enough that i usually draw it on him 10. masseter - the muscle that moves the jaw up and down. its a pretty rugged muscle and while i wouldnt say mccoy's is especially prominent, it kind of extends that nasojugal groove from certain angles/positions 11. orbicularis oris - mouth muscle, usually easier to see when lips are pursed or frowns are pulled. mccoy's is pretty prominent from 3/4ths or side, his mouth tends to protrude in profile 12. this isnt a muscle but more of a line defining the planes of the face, but since i drew it i felt i should explain lmao

a few points:

im an animator i tend to exaggerate and emphasize certain things so i usually make him more square.

i like to combine eyebags and crows feet for brevity/flow, same with nasojugal grooves, eyebags, and masseter lines. my approach is always subject to change based on pose, expression, reference image, etc.

i take out details that i deem redundant or cluttering and keep what details i need to make things feel Right

all this info is applicable to any character of any age, its just in how you apply it and facial proportions that willl change how old a character is perceived to be

there's a lot more with drawing a Character rather than an Actor, just because the features are there doesnt necessarily mean things will feel correct? its very much in the mannerisms and poses and expressions

i only went over my approach to his likeness but not really body type or posing or anything idk if u want that i could always try to answer that later haha

also! the part about the lineart not being colored and no rendering ended up being a deliberate stylistic choice for this one bc i had like more freedom to do just shadows with inks without it looking too out of place.

thank you, and i'll try my best to answer this but !! i dont think i'll be much help in trying to explain either of those 😭

for colors i actually pick them manually (insanity); though i draw fanart most of the time and have refs in hand, i pick out colors close to the originals, then simply match them to a tone i want for the picture (if this makes sense; i often use color palettes too to see how i can match them. if there is an odd color that wouldnt match, what i do is i also simply pick a brush on half or lower opacity and place the general color of reference over; for ex below: asuka's hair was a bit too bright and unfitting, so i picked the pure violet shade the lineart had as well and applied it over on 30?40?50% opacity)

for picking colors, theres tons of color palettes online to pick from, but there's also tons of artists with colorful styles like these i like to look for for examples (my best picks are rourow (one of muse dash's artists), onono imouko* (dohna dohna's lead artist; @ _himehajime on twitter), mochizuki kei (@ key999 on twitter), ohisashiburi* (some of the more colorful works of theirs at least. the colors in majority of theirs even if more dark in tone are still super pretty and you can work around with them too; needy girl overdose's lead artist, @ imlllsn on twitter)

*beware nsfw content. onono has no nsfw in his own media tab but rts it; dd is an eroge ; ohisashiburi may have art with sensitive topics, and nsfw or thinly veiled nsfw in both media tab and rts.

for faces i still struggle with them actually ! 😭 not that i cannot draw faces, moreso sometimes struggle to draw them as i want. for piece above i feel like i got it exactly as i'd want to always do them (i.e for years on end i've always wanted to draw eyes larger than i usually tend to do); but most of the time especially on eyes i try to match the face closer to reference even if it goes a bit overboard with the style, and then try to make it match more either by line weight or etc. (i also tend to exaggerate expressions at times because i personally think it either better shows them off or it looks cute) (probably best example below because its a redraw of a figure)

I like the idea of transbian bingqiu, but I'm uncomfortable that Shen Yuan's chest is referred to as "flatties" in a context where she is both trans and had a double mastectomy, since these women are often mocked for their flat chests. It feels like her body is the butt of a joke about her being "extra flat" or that it's funny Binghe would be attracted to her chest, and she only is because she's weird and horny for Shen Yuan. I know it probably wasn't your intention, and it's a joke, but the emphasis and word choice is sort of hurtful.

I completely understand your discomfort and deeply regret the implications behind those posts; I should have made it more clear that the meme redraw and subsequent au drabbles were not intended to be connected to each other and really do want to apologize for that. It was my error and I take full responsibility-- regardless of my intentions, I didn't make my thoughts clear enough and I understand and sympathize with anyone who felt harmed by them.

For what it's worth, the original "I wanna lick her flatties" drawing was really just a one off meme redraw that didn't have any deep thinking behind it, I just thought it would be funny to draw as bingqiu so I did. Because it was just a direct trace of a meme about 2 cis women I thought I'd just leave it open ended whether or not they're trans, though my friends in general are transfem sqq enthusiasts so there was probably some unconscious headcanon bias sprinkled in there. I'm flat myself so when I saw the meme I was sort of just like oh lol that's a funny alternative to fat titties

I drew sqq older mainly as an homage to one of my friend's modern sqq designs, but from then got to thinking about what an older cast would look like and do because it's so rare to see aus set during a time when the characters would be middle aged. I thought if sqq was about 40 or so in the picture then sqh would have to be 60, so I drew 60 yr old sqh and had a lot of fun thinking about all the things she could have experienced and all the stages of life she would have gone through in 60 years, so I wanted to expand on that and also think about the human conditions that aren't usually shown in fandom art/aus. The next day, I read a cumplane fic with chronically ill sy that I liked so I was thinking about different recurrent/chronic illnesses that older women experience which have little representation in media.

In this way, it sort of spiraled out from a thoughtless meme redraw into a whole separate thing that only really happened because I was thinking about middle aged sqq, but that's not an excuse and I'm sorry for hurting you anon.

OHH I LOVE THIS, IT MAKES ME GIGGLE AND PLAY WITH MY HAIR :33 i was experimenting here, at the time i thought about making 40 year old radar a BUFF man, but now he is just a 30 year old guy with developed and fit muscles.

if you have noticed, the lapis dress has some colors like the radar yellow sweater or jesse's aqua green shirt.

although here she looks more energetic and her design is more cartoonish, now i make her more tender and with more "realistic" eyes although i don't know what to call her eyes, just look at my recent drawings of her.

anyway, i have a lot of lapis ideas, i should organize them separately. one of them is a story of her dreaming about all the MCSM villains in the form of stuffed animals in chronological mode just as jesse fought them. i mean, she doesn't know ANYTHING about jesse's story other than that she is a hero and that's it, she totally doesn't know these villains, the real backstory that jesse suffered.

anyway, i like the concept of lapis dreaming about those cute stuffed animal versions of the MCSM villains so that with her childish mind she creates them in cute stuffed animals that she is overprotective of and jesse and radar are quite confused and especially jesse because of how she wants to avoid AT ALL COST that lapis knows about her past at such a young age.

HERE'S YOUR LAPIS BOT, be gentle with her, and believe me, she loves talking about her parents so gently tell her about them and their secrets, idk

Daily Dragon #35 - Ghouldrogon

When the knights finally played the dragon tormenting the village... Something went horribly wrong. It didn't decay right. It lingers in the mountain. And it's corrupted soul haunts the lair forever. They have creepy undead magic, spewing foul smelling paranormal green flames. If you somehow successfully steal something from their horde, it's gonna be horribly cursed.

This is a redesign of a 2012 skeleton! Was looking for an old dragon to redraw and settled on this dude! But it's REALLY been changed up I guess. It's barely the same thing anymore lol but I think the new one's way cooler!

Daily Dragon #36 - Floofizard

These more rodent-like dragons are typically found near park trails and in cities with trees to hide in. They love to collect nuts and fruits, but aren't afraid to get close to humans and snatch scraps when the chance comes up. They're fast runners too, so good luck catching them if they snatch a snack out of your bag. You don't commonly see them as pets, but some people love them because of how soft and fluffy they are!

Daily Dragon #37 - Orbodon

Not exactly "man's best friend" as they can be very mischievous! Causing small problems like stealing food, knocking things over, and other trouble, then rolling away before they can be caught and get a little water spritzed in their face.

Had a plan for a big dragon today but ended up feeling a little tired when I sat down to draw tonight so I went with something simple. My brain kept telling me "do a circle one... just make it a circle" and I gave in and now we have the second dog dragon of the challenge lol

Daily Dragon #38 - Dragostein

Dragons slain across the land suddenly go missing, remains of the beast go unaccounted for... Suddenly, a new dragon appears in a long abandoned laboratory. It can't move well, but it doesn't feel pain, is physically power, and has electric powers!

This is the dragon I wanted to draw yesterday! Based on "Dragonstien" that I got from the infinite craft game. For some reason I thought it was so funny, I just had to draw it

Daily Dragon #39 - Rammosaur

A highly aggressive dragon that loves hitting and smashing things with its horns! They can even use those huge horns to shovel dirt and rocks out of their path and territories high up on the mountains! Very versatile creatures!

This creature is a redraw of this weird fella from roughly 2019 I think? Was looking for some random dragons I did in the past and found this thing. It was called the "Rammasaur" but it doesn't really look like a dino? So I wanted to redo it lol

Daily Dragon #40 - Arachnosaur

A strange hybrid of reptile and arachnid! 8 limbs, 7 eyes, Scorpion tail, powerful jaws, and lethal venom make this dragon a feared beast inside most caves. It can also spit webs from its mouth!

And of course, this is today's dragon! I actually wanted to draw a nice and simple dragon, but hated how they all came out. So of course the obvious solution was to swap to something complicated!

Recently had some drinks with my housemate and went through my old Deviantart account together. It was very funny (especially discovering that my last journal entry ever was 14-year-old me during a hurricane joking that if I never updated again, it was because I'd died.)

I got inspired to redraw some old work once again. This girl has been redrawn a few times over the years, but she's apparently supposed to be Poe-themed, so I decided to use this as an excuse to look at 1830s/40s portraits lean more period with it.

I wish I still had the same confidence with color that I did as a tween.

Pls say sike. No way iron might took priority over rei when he could’ve been in extra content for vol 40… I don’t get the hype it’s like star and stripe for me. Waited so long for rei like this vol has her moment as a mom/hero and nothing?

Well, at least she got her first own color art and it's on a cover - that's a big win in my book. (The real loser is poor Iida, who unlike Jirou, Tokoyami, Mina, etc. didn't get anything for his highlight moment)

Though, we still have no full Todo-family art... (which btw makes me hope we are getting back to them still in the endgame). The whole Todoroki family lined up like that, looking at Enji makes me feel that the ball is in his court. And that the story-beat I want to see from him may still come.

But yeah, the extras are a bit weird - they do look like Hori didn't have much time for them, so he just threw in whatever little drafts were lying around. (Which is understandable, because they made him work on the WSJ cover / color page the same time he was working on the volume).

I'm personally happy with the cover / title page / character intro. And my main priority would be anyways to see if there are any redraws / extra pages added to the Todo-chapters. Also it wouldn't be the first time the leakers forgot some of the extras, so let's wait two more days.
