For the ask game : S A L U T (french for "hi" I amost wrote "cock" btw but it made me laugh so much I got embarrassed)
(for A : you pick! If you have a fun anecdote about one of your fic titles <3)
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
(I answered this one a little bit ago lol so copy + paste)
besides the corn prompts?
Voldemort being a total simp over Harry. Like feral obsessed. So enraptured he would sacrifice a death eater just to be in the same room with him.
Harry being forced to make a horcrux
Harry being remade into a horcrux or getting horcrux pt2
anything that focuses on their connection and codependencies
Parseltounge
A: How did you come up with the title to His Brave Boy?
Me and my beta came up with it. We came up with it first because I said it like.. once? I in the fic, and then went back and said it again and again because it was just so sweet.
One of my favorite things i've ever written but I know its not going to get very popular so I'm just kind of like :/ right now.
L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
Well, I edit over and over AS I write then I usually do a good hard edit once I finish so like... I don't know how to count that.
U : Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Latley?
Evaleon70 - one of those situations where all that creativity was overflowing and when the damn finally broke its kick ass story after kickass story. @i-dream-of-libraries
Ghosty - this is gonna sound crazy but so many good drabbles on twitter that i adore (and im so irritated they don't post them on ao3 because BESTIE you're gonna lose them 😭 ) actually idk their ao3 yet but we are working on something 🌶️ together 👀
Leafiloaf - also writer? No. But who woudn't want to include them in a faves list? Their art is always on point and gives my brain a million different ideas and makes me want to drop current wip against my will to go write them. @leafiloaf
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
I kind of already answered this one again in another one so (copy+Paste)
Im going to answer this softly and not with the Hard corn topics.
Furry stuff freaks me out. Like life your best life, but the fur and animal features and behavior make me feel unwell. But omegaverse stuff where everyone looks human? I can get on that.
I think established relationship is something i can't do simply because i LOVE the build up and chase. I have a really hard time reading it.
Infidelity. Nope I would rather they murder their spouse than cheat.
The humiliation stuff. Like Harry being humiliated in front of death eaters? (especially with the corn/ voyerims stuff) it makes me so uncomfy.

Soo one day im thinking about writing a book (not really a serious idea, but i’d really enjoy it !) and since i particularly enjoyed your way of writing ABM, i wanted to ask for advice… also i dont have a litterature degree (yet..?idk if i’ll get one), so the advice im asking for is very much beginner level
Also the book i’d like to write is sort of utopian/futuristic, but also entails graphic descriptions of a painful past…like i have a whole lore in my head and i have 0 idea how to turn that into a book..
Hello! I'm happy you like how ABM is written! I'm not sure how old you are (and I do think age is relevant to the advice I can give here), so I'm going to hopefully assume you're 18-19.
First, you don't need a literature, english, or creative writing degree to write. They're only really helpful if you want a career in academia, teaching, or you're planning to get an MFA, which I don't recommend unless you want to write literary books. Don't get an MFA if you want to write genre books — fantasy, sci-fi, romance, etc.. This said, I do highly recommend taking a writing class or two and working really hard in them, as opposed to taking a whole bunch. Take criticism and edit, not to make all the critiquers happy but to understand how your work comes off to people.
For general practice in plotting, by the way, I really recommend reading short stories and writing your own. Read books and watch movies and try to understand how narrative beats happen, how tension rises.
For me, when I have a lot of lore and ideas in my head, I try to put that all aside to decide on the protagonist and then summarize the plot into a single pitch sentence. For ex., my story Midnight Invitation is about a young man in early 1900s Mexico who works in a hacienda, struggling to love his father who works there with him, and is putting up with the landowner's sickly son, who is fixated on him sexually, and it's about colonialism, and de-indigenizing; BUT, I've summarized that to just "the son of a gardener visits the son of a landowner."
Another example: Game of Thrones / ASOIAF is an insanely complicated series, but it's central idea is "bloody political power struggle in a fantasy world."
I don't remember who taught me to do this, but this is both good for explaining your story to people and understanding the purpose of your story. You should give your story a purpose beyond "fun to imagine," not because that gives it more "value" or anything, but because it'll guide you in plotting and theme-ing.
You probably want to dump all your ideas/lore in a doc and take from them while you outline a story based off your central pitch/idea. There's some stuff you won't be able to include in the end, but it's okay. Outline and learn consistency. Set word count goals for the week goals and try to meet them. Write until the end. A finished, terrible draft is better than a perfect draft that you will never finish.
Before anything, be patient with yourself and learn to love the process of writing itself, instead of loving your idea of the finished product. This is good for both your book and your mental health. trust me.

FAQ because fags ask questions.
Tumblr media
Gimmie the basics
I'm Rea, 21, butch bulldyke, I live with and am dating my coauthor @itsabee pronouns ??? She her I guess???? Art account @11largesocks
Wait are you seriously a lesbian?
Yes. I hold no attraction to men fictional or real. I think playing Barbie with them is just really fun.
Where can I find your fics?
Avaliable on Ao3 (linked) or on Quotev (just search the titles you should find us)
Spill Your Guts - proxies x reader - completed
The Hunt Is On - EJ, Jane, Clockwork x reader - completed
You'll Catch Your Death - proxies x reader - completed
House Of 1000 Corpses - various creepypasta x reader - in progress
Uhm? Tag slurs?
Can you give me writing advice?
No🤗
Can I make fanart/fanfic based off your interpretations of the cpp characters?
Yes of course I don't own them at all and I'm happy to inspire others to get creative!! Tag us if you ever do anything like that!!
Check my #writing tag. Anything unanswered free to ask.
How do you write so much?
What do you listen to while writing?
Idk I got autism powers. Also making writing even a little everyday as a goal is a good way to form a long term habit of doing it every day.
What does the average chapter of your fics go through before being published?
A lot more than people think that's for sure! We pre draft our fics general plot and major events before starting. As for chapters: Abby and I write an outline together. Once completed I will write the chapter. After that Abby goes through to fix character interactions, add depth, and fix my awful spelling mistakes. I then go over Abby's edits and completely reread the chapter to make sure it's cohesive. Give it a silly name and add a song that's related to the vibe and then she's live, baby.
Mostly Pup, Rob Zombie, TPOF's soundtrack, Harley Poe. Sets the mood for the type of stuff I write.
What do you call each fic YN?
We named each of our yn's to refer to them more easily. Syg yn is Ryan. Thio yn is Dylan. Ycyd yn is Dianne. Ho1c yn is Joan.
When is the published version of spill your guts coming out?
No idea. It needs to be drafted and redrafted, edited and reedited, and then I gotta query for agents.
Spill your guts is getting a published version??
Yes! However because of bad writing and copyright it is being completely overhauled. The story is mostly the same but better. The characters are different. Goober is even goobier. It will be split into two to three novels due to word count restrictions.
Head cannons?
I'm not a matchup, head cannon, or mini fic blog. I talk about my fics mostly. If you have questions about those fics I'm happy to answer.
Will you be writing more fanfiction?
Yes I am currently writing house of 1000 courses with Abby. It's our take on a various x reader and mansion fic. It will update slowly. We are both busy and trying to focus on the book.
Why haven't you answered my ask?
I've been getting a huge influx of asks recently and it's hard to take the time to answer all of them. Sometimes I just need to think on it, other times I don't know quite how to respond. I appreciate your kindness and curiosity but I am just a regular guy.
Kys
Thank you
Is there anywhere to support you and Abby?

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 🤍
aw 🥺 thanks for sending this to me
Half Past Midnight: My first fic I wrote after a...idk how many years it was hiatus, right at the start of me falling back in love with CSI again and creating things for it; I took such a deep dive into Nick's head and part of what I did in writing this was watching only Nick's parts on a loop, in the dark, with headphones on and I distinctly remember a point where it really got to me and I gasped for air and spooked my dog (don't worry he was okay just startled lol) It was also the first fic I started playing around and including my own headcanons in there
Last Breath: I just...have a lot of good memories from writing this fic. It was probably the most interactive, like I would go so far as to say it was almost even like a collaboration because so many people pitched ideas (the idea for the fic as a whole was straight up handed to me on a silver platter) and made the fic better for it, and I also really got to know my Stokes children OCs in doing this fic--I did do a handful of fics for them before this, but I feel like I really hammered down who they were and it won't be the last fic on this list but I do also have the sequel (First Flight) to use as a chance to cover things I missed in the first one and explore more universe altering headcanons. It was also my first like, longer fic at around 64k word count wise, and right now my longest completed fic lol
Atrophy: I swear this list I'm just going off of fics that I have distinct memories of attachment to; this one I started writing on my way to a wedding and brought back an OC I created back when I was a teenager. After the wedding I had to go to this university for a class paid for by my job and I spent the car rides there and back brainstorming, and even writing in between classes (and if I recall...even during class at some points shh.) Its sequel Agony is uh, giving me some challenges and I regret a lot of things like maybe pushing it out so fast and then losing steam and wishing I did some things different/toned it down, but Atrophy I still feel mostly good about (though man imagine if I went as hard on it as I am with Agony as long and drawn out as it is lol) and the ficverse as a whole is definitely a favorite of mine
For Your Viewing Pleasure: Surprise, another Grave Danger fic. I wrote this during a pretty rough time and just remember being proud of myself for doing it, and wrote it all within a week and the ideas and words just kept...flowing. It felt like I was truly in my element when I wrote it and helped me remember why I love writing so much.
Specimen Stokes: God I know this fic also went off the rails like Agony did where I worry it became like...too much and should have held back a little (no pun intended) but I will never forget the day I ran out of work to go start writing a one shot in response to an anon who I don't even think technically asked for it as a fic, it was like "choose between these scenarios" and as I started to think about it I just...couldn't help myself. Like Atrophy I have sequels in mind and all sorts of things I want to do and I swear I actually have the rest of this fic installment planned out it's just...writing it lol. And taking the plunge into making it sci-fi and twisting the characters in the AU has been a blast and I feel like a great amount of my creativity has shown through in this fic, the edits and stuff I made for it, and the ideas I have coming up.

ok so like, fanowrimo 2023 reflection thus far, since we're actually p close to the halfway mark which is already a terrifying concept.
total word count, i'm at 9.6k (abt 400 words under target for today but i'm probably not done), so yay! but holy schmokes have i not been consistent in output in the last week lmao. via nanowrimo's stats page, which is honestly excellent:
Tumblr media
(nov 5th and 9th were rest days, and even tho on the 5th it says 0, i did still outline. ofc some of what i've written i've since scrapped--tho i've p much made up the difference while editing--and i've also done abt 600 words of not-tcba writing bc my brain needed a break.)
building habits is so hard...
and that's really what it is? historically speaking, i'm not a very consistent writer, i'm more motivated by whimsy. having a structured approach where i wake up in the morning and write for an hour has been good for me, but it's also really challenging bc i am a creature of indolence. normally i take ages to think about what's coming up next, and when i write i have the internal editor in my brain constantly giving me feedback on word choice and word frequency, on consonance and where to break the sentence with punctuation or how to re-word it so that the tone is right and making sure that i mention x and do the lead-in for y. at the same time, when i take a lot of time to percolate is usually when i'm able to do 1-2k in one go and it doesn't need any editing after except for typos. (measure twice, write once...)
so breaking it into writing only, and editing separately has been great, but it's still kind of a struggle bc it's still energy expenditure, just in a different form. but i think the other part of why i've always taken so long to write is that i don't have a job where i can just daydream abt my stories, or sneakily write. i have my commute and my lunch, but sometimes i want to think abt literally anything else. in general, i have obligations that take up enough of my mental bandwidth that it can be really hard to also be creative, esp when i have v strong meta-cognition going when i do write.
idk thus far w this project i've really been trying to give myself a lot of grace, and mostly succeeding. but yeah, if mariko is my wish-fulfillment in any sense it's that she has the energy to enact her stubbornness into discipline way more consistently than i do.

questions about books!!! the best kind of questions. thanks for the tag @boxboxlewis this was a fun distraction from pretending to write!
An estimate of how many physical books I own: oh jeez. I would say probably about 400 in my flat (it’s a small flat, too) and then maybe another 200 in storage at my mum’s? So yeah probably 600 or so overall. I’ve probably only read maybe two thirds of them, but I have problems with impulsive spending so they keep on piling up 🫠
Favourite author: Can’t pick just one, but JG Ballard, Donna Tartt, William Gibson, Eliza Clark and Bret Easton Ellis (shut up I know he’s problematic let me live) are my top five.
A popular book I've never read and never intend to read: Honestly probably anything else Sally Rooney brings out. I don’t get the big deal.
A popular book I thought was just meh: See above! But also My Year of Rest and Relaxation. Otessa Moshfegh should in theory be right up my street but I just find her writing is trying too hard to gross me out, it’s too edgelord for me. Which, if you’re familiar with some of the authors I’ve listed above, is really saying something.
Longest book I own: Ooh I’m not actually sure. Maybe The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton? I didn’t finish it though. Or the Succession script books are pretty hefty? OH WAIT no it’s probably Ducks, Newburyport by Lucy Ellman but I haven’t even started it lmao.
Longest series I own all the books to: Probably Harry Potter, unfortunately. I don’t really read series books much!
Prettiest book I own: My copy of The Sick Bag Song by Nick Cave is pretty lovely. The Roads Editions paperbacks are all gorgeous, especially my copy of Venus in Furs. And idk if it counts but my first ever boyfriend (who was an asshole in all other respects) bought me a limited copy of Laments by Jenny Holzer for my 18th birthday which I treasure.
A book or series I wish more people knew about: Ooh, tricky one. I’m going to say Heroines by Kate Zambreno which is a really beautiful creative non-fiction essay about mental illness and the literary wives and mistresses of quote-unquote Great Authors (white men).
Book I'm reading now: The Weird and The Eerie by Mark Fisher, and The Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer. Never let it be said I am not wide-ranging in my tastes.
Book that's been on my TBR list for a while but I still haven't got around to it: I mean like I said I have about 200 unread books and more in my TBR list and sometimes I lie awake at night getting stressed about the fact that I will never have time to read all the books I want to read!!! But the one that springs to mind is The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil which I should read for novel research but it’s a BRICK about the likelihood of machine intelligence destroying humanity. I’m fun at parties I swear. (Disclaimer: I am 34 years old I don’t go to parties anymore.)
Do you have any books in a language other than English: I mean, I have some poetry in translation and stuff but I can’t read it :(
Paperback, hardcover, or ebook?: I much much prefer paperbacks! But I read probably 50/50 paperbacks and ebooks these days since I got my nice shiny iPad.
tagging @lost-decade @zeraparker @formulatrash and @saintdevote if any of you want to fill in!

3, 4, 17 for the fic writer asks! <3
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
If you want to play, pick your fic writing question(s) from this list!
I already answered 3 here, but as for the rest:
4. a story idea you haven’t written yet
I guess it depends on what you define "written" as? Like if written means "finished work" then there's the captive/different first meeting AU I was working on before my current WIP that should count. The preliminary work I did on that was the first time I ever thought a longfic was possible, and I want to circle back around to it eventually because I think I've got a fun twist on the captive trope in mind.
Another idea that fits the description above is a fic of a fic, the incredible In Favor With Their Stars. I've got a couple paragraphs of prose and in line with the way the original story is written, some command lines written as well. The idea for it is existentially devastating though so I'm not sure I'll ever be able to write it. I was lucky enough to get to talk to mxmollusca about it and they approved/encouraged me to keep going so idk, someday.
If you mean something I haven't done work on, well, I guess the closest thing I have to that is something I was thinking about when the season 2 teaser first dropped. It was going to be shortish piece in the vein of "let's just get it out of our system" smut where Ed spent the whole time desperately trying to capture it all in his memory, to the point where he wouldn't really be experiencing it at all. The more we learned about the season, the less viable the idea seemed so I eventually scrapped it.
17. talk about your writing and editing process
Well. Talking about the latter is going to be much more concrete than the former, so let's get that out of the way first.
As someone with not one, but two creative writing degrees, I can tell you that actual CWR classes are incredibly hit or miss. My experience was such a mixed bag, including how much better most of the teachers I had in undergrad were than in grad school. It was one of those undergrad teachers who gave me the one piece of writing advice that I've never, ever abandoned: during the revision process (emphasis on "vision"), instead of tweaking an existing document, try rewriting the new draft in a brand new doc.
Maybe it's not something everyone needs to do, but it's something I very much have to do. I do it every time, without fail, and my writing is the better for it. Once I actually start it's hardly a hardship for me, although that probably varies person to person. The quality of every aspect of my writing grew by leaps and bounds once I started doing it. It forces me to truly look at my work in a way I can never really see it otherwise.
As for the writing process itself? That's a lot fuzzier. In some ways, I'm still figuring out what that means for me now that I'm exclusively writing fic. Because my relationship with the experience of writing has fundamentally changed, I guess it makes sense that the way I do it might too.
That's doubly true now that I work from home on a schedule that's not exactly 9-5. I don't have a set time to sit down and do it, nor a daily word quota. Some days I write nothing. Some days I write 50 words. Some days I write 5000. The days I write nothing are usually days I never got around to opening whatever my working document is, because once it's open I'll usually have something to say. I'm sure if I worked more consistently I could work faster, but that would come at the expense of sustainability. In order for writing to be sustainable for me right now, it can't not reward me for it somehow. I have to be enjoying myself or I'll grow to resent it.

Hi! I went through the libaw tag while I was bored and???? It's so good??????
I am in love with Gabriel now. New blorbo acquired. All your snippets are great. And also all your chapter titles are fire.
Idk where you're at with the querying but best of luck on that. I wanna see this published so I can devour it.
Just wanted to say how much I love what I've seen of this story. You're doing great, bestie 👍
(Also, do you have a taglist?)
🥺 You just made my day! This was such a sweet message to receive. I'm glad you enjoy the snippets and titles (my titles are definitely a point of pride for me, haha), and that you find the story intriguing. That's the goal! It's not really the kind of story that tends to get much attention in these spaces, tbh, so I'm pleasantly surprised with the warm response some of my recent snippets have received.
Gabriel would most likely be shocked that someone considers him blorbo-worthy, but I'm sure he would appreciate your affections! I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with him myself, but he's definitely one of my more compelling characters and I'm proud of the way he turned out. As a character, anyway. As a person is more complex, lol. Either way, definitely poured years of blood, sweat, tears and research into that guy, and I suppose if I was trying to produce upstanding fictional specimens of humanity I'd probably be writing something other than crime thrillers.
More under the cut because this got suuuper long (💀):
RE: querying - I've been "getting ready to query" for like a year at this point, lol, but that's mostly because the edits after my last beta cycle became QUITE a bit more extensive than anticipated. It's definitely for the better, though. I'm very, very happy with the way it's turning out. Not only am I successfully addressing a lot of my own nagging issues and recurrent beta reader comments, but the structural edits are also allowing me to trim the word count quite a bit (which... the word count has been a MAJOR hurdle in my journey with this project, because of tradpub word count limits in my genre versus the complexity of the story). I'm about 70% done with edits at this point. There will be things actively happening on the querying front in the near future - I will update on that asap.
Re: taglist - I don't currently have any taglists because I worry about my ability to be consistent with maintaining them. You're not the first person to ask about a taglist for libaw specifically, though, so I might try to see if doing one just for that project is feasible. Stay tuned.
Side note, I saw your tags on my post from last year about libaw's history and while they are very (!!!) sweet I feel I must clarify: I started the project in 2008 (when I was 17, for reference), but I haven't been working on it actively throughout that entire span of time - there was a long period between late 2013 and early 2022 where I did very little writing/work on creative projects in general, so it was shelved for most of that. It took me 2.5 years to draft (2008-2011) - at the time it was two novels totalling ~400K words - and then I spent most of 2012 and 2013 doing large-scale revisions, which included a full rewrite/merging of the novels in 2013. Then I took it back up again for good in early 2022 (two years ago today, coincidentally). So that's definitely still a very long time to work on one novel, but not as long as the entire span of years since I started it.
I've always said this is the book of my heart, and I won't try to release it until I'm happy with it and know I've given it my best shot. I've never regretted that for a second, but it's taken a long time to get there, for both personal and skill-related reasons (namely, there's a social commentary element to the story that's taken me a lot of effort, research, and development as a writer to get right - it's ongoing, but I'm getting close based on recent feedback). To be close to reaching the point where I can genuinely feel "my" (independent, prior to pub-related edits) work is done after well over a decade is very cool for sure.

15 questions for 15 mutuals from the lovely @bich-the-moss thank you for the tag, i love these things <3
1. Are you named after anyone?
if you're talking about my legal name, then i'm somehow named after my dad whose name is jason. my legal name is not jason nor any possible variant of jason. idk man
i have to two first chosen names because i wanted my initials to be DK because i love apes :) daniel is just because i liked the name and korvid came to me in a dream in which i was working with gerard way on a comic book adaptation of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. we decided demolition man's name should be korvid so i woke up and stole it like a complete dweeb
2. When was the last time you cried?
last groundhog day i saw a really sad edit of punxsutawney phil and lucy dacus' Night Shift. it was about how he's famous but can never go back to the wild and see his friends and it fucking broke me
3. Do you have kids?
no im 19 and not up to the task of child rearing
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
no not really
5. What sports do you play/have played?

7. What’s your eye color?
dark brown, almost black
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
scary movies! i love a bleak ending but won't turn my nose up to a happy one. i like legally blonde just as much as halloween

i hate cooking but im pretty good at it. i'm very self conscious about my writing but everyone ive shown it too, including professors, give me really positive feedback so i suppose i can count that.
i also excel academically despite refusing to study or complete readings. basically, i'm lucky.
10. Where were you born?

11. What are your hobbies?

8,6,7,5,3, and 9 for whichever f/o you're feeling right now! (for the spicy asks)
i forgot i had that ask game in my queue. screaming crying sobbing. i don't know why this is making me nervous, i'm CONSTANTLY in nsft post tags blabbering on about how i want to give my otter man a brain-melting orgasm to cure him of his Conditions... ;;;
answering these for ren bc he's the one i'm most... in tune with? i COULD answer some spicy asks about some of the others (mars is a good runner-up), but i've never put as much thought into this side of a relationship as i have with ren. SO!!!
whether i ramble on with details nobody needs to know or i just give a-few-words-long answers is up to fate. 🙏🏻 (edit post-writing: ......you wanna guess which option fate went with? 😩 i'm so sorry in advance kjNKJN)
3: Is the sex between you and your f/o usually sensual? Passionate? Animalistic?
more sensual and passionate, if i have to pick among those options.
r!ren's much more passionate from the start, since he isn't forcing himself to play a role and can just be open with his affections. he's the kind of guy to quickly go from a light kiss while we watch something to Full Throttle if he's given the OK kjndfkjn.
doc!ren starts out playful and sensual, and he has more control wrt things like light affection staying light, but as things heat up the mask starts to slip and the passion comes out in him as well.
but, with both rens, we're also very silly. like, he's intentionally being a goof the entire time (see: that one post about an f/o saying "shoot your goo!" when you're about to cum), and if his hands get shaky while he's trying to put on a condom, that isn't gonna ruin the mood... if anything i'd be like, "oh no, he's failing to put the condom on... oooh he's struggling so hard... 💕" and then offer to help with my own shaky hands kjsndkjn. like this is us when something silly happens or we have trouble with something stupid:

5: Do you and your f/o prefer having sex in the dark or with the lights open?
lights on! he wants to be able to see everything... not only in the "i love your body" sense (which is also true), but in the "i want to see every facial reaction so i can figure out what works for you and what doesn't" sense.... whether he's doc!ren or r!ren, he has a mind for study, close examination, and analysis.
and -i- want to see his every reaction bc he's handsome and cute and veeery expressive :3 i wanna see him Fucking Lose It in full hd quality.
6: What was the most embarrassing thing to happen between you and your f/o before, during, and/or after sex?
i can't think of anything in particular that's truly embarrassing tbh. i think there are also things that both of us could feel embarrassed about individually that the other would find endearing, but i don't really count that... :/
idk, it just isn't something i've put much thought into in spite of the fact that something would inevitably happen at some point!
7: Any favourite positions?
nothing too creative! we both enjoy missionary, cowgirl, pretzel dip, and reverse spooning, and he in particular loves giving and receiving oral so face sitting + kneeling at the edge of the bed... really anything that's face-to-face and as close as possible.
and if i'm not up for anything on my end, i'm usually more than happy for us to sit or lie next to each other while i help get him off (often a good chance for some fun power play, teasing, etc) or give him JOI if i'm not up for anything physical at all (ALSO a good chance for power play and teasing lol). he understands that we have VASTLY different "batteries", so even if i'm just sitting next to him while he takes care of things himself, to him that just means we're sitting close and spending time together, yippee~!!
8: Any favourite places (ex. bedroom, kitchen, on a desk, against the wall  etc)?
honestly, if it were up to him, i think he'd be up for just about anywhere, and in my wildest dreams i'd also be up for more creative use of space... but because of my pain and health issues, the best places are the bed and sofa ;;; kissing elsewhere for a bit would be okay, but once things really start to get going we need to get somewhere soft and cushioned lmao.
9: Any kinks and/or fetishes?
OKAYYYY. the Big Question. so. i imagine us, when we start discussing the possibility of sex, sharing our most searched "tags" as a starting point to see what we have in common, figure out if one of us is squicked by one of the other's kinks and need to avoid it, etc. the most relevant kinks are:
femdom (no shit lol, we VERY quickly figure out we're a perfectly matched sub top and dom bottom/service dom)
light bondage (nothing too intense, just a "hands tied to the bedposts, blindfold over the eyes" every now and again kind of deal)
edging (gotta make my boy sooooo desperate~)
body worship (self explanatory)
scent (i can't decide if ren's like... a scent guy or a MY PERSON'S SCENT guy... but he loves to bury his head in my hair and neck, especially if we're doing our ro's-battery-is-empty sessions and he just wants to lean into me.)
sound (to complement his scent Thing i guess ksjdkjn voices are a huge things for me, and i think moaning is super cute, and uh. welp...!! he's good at it!!)
i'm not gonna lie, i think it'd be hot as fuck to fuck doc!ren in gloves and his labcoat KJNJLJNKSJM i have a thing for hands and labcoats so the double whammy would knock me out cold.
aaand i simply enjoy seeing my lovely boyfriend blissed the fuck out ^^ my cocktail of being ace, what i can feel, how often i feel it, etc. is a little fucked, but even when everything is at its lowest possible levels, i'd still get some indescribable Thing out of helping push ren to his limits, watching him completely lose it, and enjoying as he comes down from the high. it'd make me feel good to see him feel good, even if the source of that good feeling is different for both of us. 💕

Count to THREE is at 975 hits on AO3…and honestly, Imma freak out once it reaches the 1,000 hit mark!! I'm so thankful for everyone who's stopped by to check it out; it's my first fanfiction on the site and the only story I've written in about ten years! Super excited!!
I figure with the hits approaching 1,000, I'd show a super small sneak peek of where the next chapter (…seven…) is currently and some of my creative processes! (no one asked for this)
❤️ Firstly, I start with a notes/timeline page where I hit the beginning/middle/and end of the chapter. Most flashbacks and hard plot points are already on a separate notes page, so they are copied and pasted into their designated chapter. Then everything in between those main three points of the chapter is fleshed out and winged with little planning….idk at this stage if the chapter will be 4,000 words or 15,000…
❤️ THEN, I create artwork for the beginning and the end of the chapter based on one of the three main talking points dished out in the timeline! If the chapter ends up being way too long, like this past week's update, then each of the spilt-up chapters will only get either a beginning OR the end artwork…..because I'm too lazy to make new art after writing it all out.
❤️ NEXT, I just go crazy with the writing! I let my mind wander without thinking about spelling, grammar, or anything that can get in the way!
❤️ After I have a good feel for the chapter, I copy and paste 1,000 - 2,000 words at a time into a separate document to do the editing. This way, I don't feel overwhelmed, and I can focus on small parts of the writing, flesh it out with small details, and find as many mistakes as possible in smaller chunks.
❤️ Once I've copied everything from the original document and edited everything, I copy the BETA'd work into AO3 and do a once-over-read/editing/reformatting on the site. Idk if there is a better way to do this, but for the chapter artwork, I upload them into DeviantArt (which you can find if you look up my username, but it's only the chapter artwork, and that's it) and use the links generated from DA to upload into AO3.
❤️And that's it!!❤️

I’ve told you a million times I am a huge fan of your work, and I am always curious about your process. You have such original ideas. I am excited that you are participating in this!
For the Fanfiction Q&A-Writers Edition game, I have two questions to ask (if that is alright, you can pick one to answer if you prefer).
14. and 18.
Thank you. 😊
Question 14: What aspects of your creative process do you enjoy most? Which are the most challenging?
Question 18: Are there any themes or tropes that you enjoy writing? Any themes or tropes you hate writing?
14. Oh, my favorite part of my process is definitely the 'iron out the kinks' part. It's where my sister and I problem solve all the things in a fic that bothers me or doesn't feel believable. We usually go out on walks and wheeze-laugh our way through different scenarios. It might be as simple as 'what if he says x, I feel like he'd say x, make him say x' and other times it's 'oh that is awful and evil and mean, do it." On the flip side, the worst, absolute worst part, is writing the scenes before the ones I'm excited about. I'm right there right now with MSR. I want to be three chapters into the future. I already have scenes written out but alas, they have the audacity to have to be released in order to make sense! lol
18. Oh it varies based on the fandom. In red dead, the trope i fell into the most was werewolf au. Does that count as a trope? idk. I probably should go look up trope - well google didn't help at all. In TMNT, I'm still so new to the fandom, but I really like silent love trope, or affection that doesn't need to be acknowledged. In rogue one, it was everyone lives/no body dies lol. As far as things I hate writing, I simply don't write anything I don't like. If I feel like I've seen the same things out and about in the fandom, I'll simply put a new twist on how I tackle the prompt.

I feel like anyone who knows me knows what a big Bangel fan I am-- like I make so many posts about them these days, and sometimes I feel like I'm even unintentionally taking up way too much of the tag for them and sort of feel embarrassed about that. And I'm so sorry if that's true. ^_^'
So, yeah... clearly a big Bangel fan here. And obviously, most of that comes from the shows.
But now that I've started reading the tie-in books, there's a part of me that feels like they handled them better.
It's just that they have so many nice moments in them. And, I mean, obviously the shows aren't without their nice Bangel moments: I wouldn't be here if they didn't have them. But I guess I feel like the novels have room to breathe more? And that makes sense, because they're sort of missing moments.
Well, that's not entirely true. And that sort of takes away from them. That makes it sound like they're just slice of life fanfictions or something. They're more like missing episodes. But I guess since a lot of them weren't beholden to the overall season arc, maybe that's why it feels like they had more room to add in some nice romantic moments. Also, more page count to do so.
I also feel like Joss Whedon and team eventually got too caught up in the whole "Buffy and Angel are Romeo and Juliet and can never be happy, or else the audience will lose interest in them" thing: so much so, that they forgot they also needed to give them good moments with each other, in order to make the audience care at all. And I feel like a lot of writers of TV shows in this era had the same problem. It was the whole, "The obvious intended canon pairing can never get together, because the audience will stop watching, so we must throw in all this useless angst and crazy road blocks!" thing. Looking at you, eight seasons of Clana Smallville pain, even though I do ship Clana. (As an aside, I hate this idea and trope so much. It's almost a sign of a lack of creativity and lazy writing to me, because I feel like if you were a good writer, of course you could keep your audience around once the canon couple becomes, well, canon, by giving them other things in your show to be interested in! I feel like if all an audience cares about with your show is a ship, then you have writing problems. But that's a rant for another time.)
And don't get me wrong, these book authors definitely try to stay true to canon and do a wonderful job doing so--and there's definitely angst here--I just feel like they're not dripping in angst, like I feel the show (and especially the S8-12 comics and Angel & Faith!) later were, if you feel me.
And I just think the tie-in novels had the time to show some of the stuff that we knew were going on in the show, and that were definitely hinted at there (and that we saw a few times), but to give it to us a lot more: like Angel being the one person that Buffy opened up to and was her comfort through the storm, so to speak.
Like, when you watch the show, you kind of feel like there was probably a lot of stuff going on with Buffy and Angel that we didn't get to see, that helped to explain why they loved each other (especially in season three, that really seemed to jump around a bit). And the tie-in novels really seems to fill that in for me. IDK.
If someone who wasn't a Bangel fan read the tie-in novels, they might change their mind about them. Or at least see why we like them. That's kind of what I'm getting at here. And that's one of the reasons I think the writing is pretty exceptional.
Edit: You also have to appreciate that the tie-in novels allowed for more crossover moments with Buffy and Angel, after they had their separate shows, that eventually we didn't get with the actual TV shows, because of dumb legal reasons: which I think was the original intention/dream, for them to have more moments like that, even after they'd separated.

HELLO!! I’m so sorry that it’s been a minute since I last interacted but like life has me in a chokehold at the moment and not in the fun kinky way unfortunately. Okay so *clears throat* first of all I love the new theme!!! Mind if I ask why the change? And SECOND your pfp adhkhfygdgkk. I was waiting for you to change it to Oliver at some point soon considering how much you love him. I myself am this 🤏🏼 (THIS) close to changing my pfp to either Bachira or Takemitchy. Big life choices obv 😌. ALSO!! CONGRATULATIONS ON 1K FOLLOWERS!!!! 🥳🎉🎂 That number is insane and I’m so proud of you 😤🥰. Also like speaking of Tokyo Revengers. The last chapter is next week. I’m quietly suffering. I am not ready for it to end. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH MY LIFE NOW HUH?!??!! I wanna cry (I have already multiple times actually but that’s besides the point). Anyways. Hows your day going? I hope that all the creative juices are flowing and that you get your favorite coffee as quickly as possible and that your pillow is nice and cool at night!!! *sends many aggressive virtual hugs because I missed you*
- ✨ anon
✨ anon! HI !! Pls don’t apologize for taking time out; you come first and the blog will always be here ‘Kay? (o^^o)
Me too bb my muscles are aching and not from any... "fun" activities but cause I went too hard at the gym; so I've been sore (but its totally worth it )
ʕ ﹷ ᴥ ﹷʔ
Oh yea new theme!! What I had in mind was along the theme of the dingy halls of beauty and the beast (yk i od'ed over disney movies this week) but then that backfired and it looked depressing so I decided to go with the light theme ; yk when the castle transforms to white marble and the old and cracked one that the beast was living in disappears? Istg when the prince came; such a disappointment cause I really liked the beast ʕノᴥヾʔ
The artwork i used is of awanqi's; and they're one of my fav artists; my phone's wallpaper was set to that and one of my fav pieces was of eros and pyshce (cupid and psyche) and the colors were just- ah. *speechless*
I might change the theme again though (i was thinking of setting it to haikyuu or csm or something? idk i'll have to see how it pans out)
*bangs on the table* this man has managed to make an appearance all over my pinterest feed and I couldn't be happier. I could change the name of my blog to something based on Aiku as well but since I am a multifandom writer and I have a new husband each week, I feel guilty ʕ´• ᴥ•̥`ʔ but yea i'm very much in love with this man and we're married but he doesn't know it yet
You're changing your pfp to Bachira or our crybaby hero ??
Do it ( ⓛ ω ⓛ ) [Istg they are big life choices - I'm curious to see what you pick tho! ૮⸝⸝> ̫ <⸝⸝ ა]
YES !! WE MADE IT TO 1K and next milestone is 1.5k and keep growing from there ig? [on the flip side none of my fics made it to that count at the same time? idc cause likes for my fics don't matter to me anyway its all about me creating my own content that i'm satisfied with ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ ]
Oh it's happening ?? TR IS COMING TO AN END ?! Thats... that's big news but at the same time that kind of a good thing ngl cause personally I'm not a fan when the story line stretches out and gets complicated yk?
I just stared at Oliver's pictures this morning and decided to get out bed after my roommate threw a sock at my head and now? classes + work. And i'm also typing out the first edition comfort cause ik what i wanna write now (hoping that this won't backfire either)
The pillow with two cold sides hit right on the spot (T.T) I want more sleep and the day has just begun
I hope you've been doing well? <3 *sending hugs back cause you have been missed (≧∇≦)*

good luck on writing your novel opening! i am sending you lots of positive writing and plot vibes!!! but also i would like to know the answers to 5, 11, 12, 24, 35, 43, 54, 72, and 77! That's a lot of questions so feel free to pick and choose but i am genuinely curious about all of them -hazel
thank you for the positive vibes and good luck wishes!! they have been received and i edited and reworked the first 4.5k of the assignment! (most of it had already been edited previously, so don't be too impressed lol)
5. how many wips do you have? how many fandoms/pairings are they for? depending on what you count as a "wip", i'd say somewhere btwn 30-40ish? all 5sos pairings have more than one wip, and i've got a couple hp wips (and one doctor who drabble, but that's finished so it doesn't count)
11. do you write scenes in order or do you jump around? i usually start from what i think is the beginning at the time and then start jumping around when i either run into a wall or am inspired by something that will happen later!
12. do you outline your fics? if yes, how detailed are your outlines? how far do you stray from them? it depends! most fics i start have a general idea of how they'll go, but they rarely get an outline (unless you count one sentence in a notes app as an outline, but i don't) as for proper outlines, i have three aus (my big superhero au, we gotta make a decision's parent au, and my crazy scifi au) that have "proper" outlines, which range from extremely vague to very specific. i have yet to stray too far from any of them, but i'm also not super far along so we'll see! (my 4th of july au and my baby blue au also have docs that are vaguely outline shaped, but i'm not counting them for multiple reasons, chief among them being that they may never be written)
24. how do you choose which pov to write from? answered here!
35. what's your favorite fic you've posted? ohhh gosh. i really do love what if i'm weak (and i need you tonight?) i think it's one of my strongest writing-wise, i love the characters, it's my 2nd most popular fic,,, yeah idk i just think it's nice :))
43. is there a trope or idea you'd really like to write but haven't yet? lots! there are so many that are in wip-land, but one that hasn't even gotten a doc yet is a longer fic that's both a quarantine au and a slowburn and a fic that centers around the character's ace-ness. i've been thinking about it for a while now and i think it's something i need to sit on for a few months/years before i start it, but hopefully someday it'll be written :))
54. what's the fandom/pairing distribution of your posted fics? it's very sad :(( i've got 3 malum, 2 lashton, 1 mashton, 1 cake, 1 malum friendship fic, and no muke or cashton :(((( i can't wait to release more stuff with other pairings i don't like how unbalanced it is :((
72. what's your favorite writing compliment you've gotten? today in my creative writing class i got a very nice compliment from a classmate that made me very soft(tm). he said something like "we've talked about how great your ideas and concepts are in your story and that's true, but the real strength is the characters, who are so real and strong that they help me believe everything about this world you're building". and i just. :') i mean any compliment on my writing makes me melt but i think characters are the most important part of a story and for him to say that??? i did not propose but it was a close thing ksdjflkdsjfljsd
77. why do you enjoy writing fanfic? i like the freedom it gives me! i like that i can write characters and not have to worry about telling people what they look like or their general vibe bc they already know! (i hate describing how characters look lol it's the bane of my existence) i like the community feeling! i love how people can just comment on what they liked best and know that i'll read it! i like that so many different kinds of writing can fit under this one umbrella! i just love it!!
writer’s ask time!
