When Samira was first released, it didn't take long for people to compare her to Miss Fortune. Both are bounty hunters with a Devil-May-Cry aesthetic, gunslingers that scream "I'm going to shoot you and look sexy doing it". Samira in many ways felt like a modernized MF, a run-and-gun crit ADC with insane wombo-combo potential, yet decked out with the tools necessary to survive a decade's worth of power creep.

It took all of 5 seconds for people to ship them together.

On paper, the ship just *works*. Sarah's perpetually flirtatious nature is an invitation to dance that the thrill-seeking Samira simply can't resist. Sarah/Samira works for the same reason as MF/Katarina - one of the game's oldest ships, which I will insist be referred to as "Red-Head-Redemption". Fortune's intense personal charisma - her "Miss Fortune" persona, which she uses to mask her unresolved trauma and grief - pairs perfectly with the Noxian assassins' culturally-cultivated need to prove themselves by murdering as many people as possible. She is the spark to their tinder, igniting them both in a self-destructive blaze that will see them girl-boss their way to world domination or die trying.

I think the ship works in theory, but I have a hard time seeing either of them involved in a traditional relationship. Sarah has too much on her hands, struggling to find a balance between resorting to Gangplank's tyranny and letting Bilgewater tear itself apart, while also constantly having to deal with the threat of the Ruination everytime Viego decides to make his bitchlessness everyone else's problem. Samira meanwhile is an adrenaline-junkie who canonically values her thrill-seeking ways over settling down into a steady relationship - a fact which ended her last romance, as alluded to in one of her voice lines. I think what is more likely is that they develop an intense flirtatious-rivalry - competing to see who can pull off the most impressive trick-shots, trying to one-up each other by bringing in the most dangerous bounties, or maybe even hunting bounties on each other. Nothing says "being pursued by your love interest" like them actually chasing you down. I can't see them actually developing a long-term relationship, but the homoerotic tension would be off the chart.

The drunken-sex would be mind-blowing. And then Samira would go back to Noxus in search of her next bounty, and Sarah would clean up the mess they made in her manor and put the alcohol back on the shelf, and cry because she *still* hurts. Still hasn't healed from the scars Gangplank left on her. Not even this - this *thing* they have - can fill the void her parents left inside her.

Unless, of course, Samira can help her start the healing process by developing healthier coping mechanisms? Samira, who also lost everything as a child and had to start over as an immigrant in Noxus?

Anyway, as someone who has officially spent Too Much Time™️ thinking about the Pirate Queen, I felt obligated to share my thoughts on the matter.

Also, in case you're internally screaming "bUt WhO sAiD tHeY'rE gAy!?" - Riot has made it pretty clear through Legends of Runeterra - their card game which often serves as an info-dump for the world-building and character exploration they can't flesh out in the main game - that Sarah has at least a preference for women; see her interactions with Vi and Prowling Cutthroat, as well as her all-female crew in her level 1 card art - a noteworthy detail, as Bilgewater's pirate population is depicted as being predominantly male. Samira, meanwhile, is one of the most fruity-inclusive characters Riot has ever produced - she specifically refers to her previous lover as "they", leaving the gender up to the fanfic writers, and specifically addresses "guys, gals, and other pals" when she respawns.

SFW headcanons

First things first, Sarah Fortune has a lot of scars. I know that’s not actually said anywhere or shown, but the wounds gangplank caused where very serious and with the life she lives, of course she has a ton of scars on her body

That being said, she will only let someone she trusts a lot touch them. Even during sex, she makes it clear she does not want hands lingering for too long on the particularly big marks on her back

Now when it comes to you, Miss Fortune would relish in your touches even if she tries to keep it cool. She had to keep up a pose for so long that it takes her a lot to actually show how she feels

(The flirty remarks and smirks are not a lie but definitely another layer of protection)

Also, she’d demand you call her Sarah. She wouldn’t like to her the tittle of Miss Fortune coming from your mouth. Even in front of her crew or to-be allies, to you she’s Sarah and Sarah only

And she loves to have other people knowing that you too are close. She’s flirty to mostly everyone but there’s always the special smirk and longing looks directed to you, and no one dares to say anything for their own good

Miss Fortune’s love language is probably touch and words of affirmation (though she might be secretly ashamed of the last one ‘cause it makes her feel weak to need to be told she’ll do fine. She knows she will)

so she will hug you as soon as you’re alone. She will demand cuddles and she’ll whisper nice things to you and expect even nicer in return

Her strong facade always breaks a little bit around you, and in the beginning she would hate it so much to the point of actually getting angry towards you. She spent years and years going by fine, without help, and now she’s so vulnerable around someone else

It’s fairly scary

Which also means Sarah would be very protective, but not in a controlling way. She doesn’t ask much if you don’t want to talk, doesn’t interfere with you personal business because she wouldn’t want to interefere with hers, but she will kill at the mere idea of a threat to you

She has already lost too much, too many people that are important to her. She can’t afford to lose you too, and she makes that very clear. Anyone who wants to harm you will have to kill her first

Oh and Sarah loves to do your hair, doesn’t matter if it’s long or short she’ll find ways to style it, ask to wash it for you, and if you want to help her to do hers just ask, she won’t say no

It’s hard for her to come to terms with loving someone (because it means trusting them and being vulnerable), but once she does, it’s all about reciprocity and trust.

Sarah is serious in public but shows a lot of love and vulnerability in private, you just have to be patient and help her overcome her personal issues and trauma

NSFW headcanons

Call her Captain in bed, I dare you. She’ll fuck you like you’re a ragdoll lol

Actually Sarah might even feel a little bad that she finds it so hot when you call her Captain, because everyone calls her that it she should be level headed about it... but grab her coat, pull her in and whisper “Yes captain?” against her mouth and she breaks

I have a lot of thoughts about Irelia

simply based on irelia’s caption on twitter being “dainty by design”, i’m assuming it was an intentional design decision to make her appear more delicate, especially since it’s the porcelain skinline

even though toughness and ruggedness are more emphasized in darius’s and graves’s descriptions and “delicate” and “dainty” are one of the last words I would ever use to describe irelia

regardless, i do find her proportions a bit weird and her face and some featured are much sharper than normal

i actually really like her shorter hair and i believe they compensated for that shape with the sort-of slitted cape thing she wears, though i personally think her bangs on the model look a bit goofy

i think the ram horns are very cute

the original point i wanted to make is that i associated rams a bit more with aggressiveness compared to sheep (i just found out rams are male sheep), so i think giving irelia those curved horns—regardless of it having that softer shape language—to me, presents her as more assertive and more like default irelia

her upper half especially is so thin and i think that’s what really makes her look like a genshin character

my partner said she looks like “drx anime princess ashe”

anyways fluffy kindred good 👍

i think it’s interesting to see how they adapt the new prestige concept to non-human champions

i remember warwick’s being very well received and i do think kindred’s falls a bit short of that

"Because," Caitlyn replied, voice gentle yet firm, "the primary suspect on the Robinson case has been tied to a smuggling operation in Bilgewater. The department needs to send a representative to be a part of the investigation, and you're the only officer available."

"But if I go, *she'll* be there!" Vi whined.

Caitlyn ran her fingers through Vi's spiky pink hair comfortingly. "Now now, it can't be that bad."

Vi looked up suddenly. "It *is* that bad! She'll try to flirt with me the entire time."

Caitlyn raised an eyebrow. "And will that be a problem?"

Vi hesitated. "N-no, of course not! I mean, she's pretty, but she's got nothing on you, Cupcake."

Caitlyn nodded appreciatively, never having doubted for a moment her partner's loyalty. "So what's the problem?"

"It's just ... I dunno, it feels really unprofessional and distracting! You know how she is."

"Mmh." Caitlyn nodded, remembering her own previous interactions with the Queen of Bilgewater. "Well, maybe what you need to do is turn the tables on her. Catch *her* off guard.

Vi frowned. "And how would I do that?"

Caitlyn grinned wickedly, pulling her partner into an embrace. "I've got just the thing. I was having lunch with Mel the other day, and I heard the juiciest rumor coming out of Noxus..."

*the next day*

"Well, hey there, hot stuff!" Sarah Fortune exclaimed as Vi walked into the room. "Came back to see me after our last little adventure?"

Vi didn't even bother to respond, instead tossing something at the scarlet-haired woman. Sarah caught it, raising an eyebrow at the pair of fuzzy cuffs that had landed in her hands.

"Well, well, skipping the foreplay this time I see? Very well, are you going to put these on me or shall I?"

Vi paused, looking at her straight in the eye, before adopting the most cocky, shit-eating grin Sarah has ever seen.

"They're not for me. Next time you see Katarina, give them to her, and tell her that Piltover's Finest sends House du Couteau their regards."

Sarah stared at the cuffs for a long moment. Finally, in a completely neutral, deadpan tone of voice, she said, "We'll want to start by looking at the shipping manifests. If you'll follow me to my office..."
