#Literacy Lunacy

since i saw it on a different blog and its funny.
How would each RO react if they got caught by mc pulling on a Push door?
Imre: he watches, amused for several minutes as you keep pulling at a door that clearly says push. He doesn’t help. He just smiles that smile of his until you accidentally get it. “My hero” he says.
Nia: she taps her foot impatiently as she sees you pull on a door that obviously says push. She looks behind her at the line and glares at anyone who might say something. “Oh my god you buffon!” she says and pushes the door.
Lorcan: he doesn’t understand why it won’t open. He pulls with you, both of you equally stupid, unable to see the clear sign by your hands. People line up to watch this spectacular lunacy in action. Tomorrows headlines: “local teens can’t open door, is literacy down for generation X?”

For direct reference of the absolutely insanity that is modern culture’s staunch illiteracy of literal in your face Active Text, not even getting into direct or extrapolated subtext in case you forgot, this is the scene that I was talking about.
This exists, as is, unedited, in a show that people say is “queerbaiting” and “Not representation” because these character’s don’t Kiss at the end. And even more, this entire episode is about probing the purple-haired girls romantic and sexual interests by having the red-haired girl transform into different archetypes of romantic partners, in the end confronting her with this.
Sheer lunacy.
We have a apocalyptic critical literacy problem in society right now.

Stopping in to say that even though I don't necessarily agree with you, I'm just sending this ask to say- hope you're doing well, and that you continue to do well, and not get hate. There is no amount of discourse that should amount to someone getting hate over a five nights at Freddy's/reader fanfic lol
And I do hope any amount of hate you may get does not lessen your opinion on bamsaras uhh fanbase so to say, I would like to presume that the very vast majority of fans of Solar lunacy are very open to critique, and basic media literacy.
Really really, hope you're doing well and that the internet is being kind
thanks a lot. unfortunately, the internet is not being very kind today, and... I don't wanna say your presumption was wrong, but it's not looking good here, chief
jokes aside, I'm glad there are folks who recognise that this shit isn't okay. I'm gonna try to not let the "being accused of being a terf for being an autistic english major" and "being accused by multiple people of being a manipulative liar for Having Remorse" get me down, and I can laugh about it now, but it's actually pretty scary to wake up to hundreds upon hundreds of people calling you a piece of shit for saying a negative thing about a popular fanfiction. motherfucking x reader! that's how low the bar for anon hate is now! motherfucking x reader! kids these days. ugh.

The Industrial Revolution (Micro Owen)
Despite the significance of his contributions, Charles Babbage was considered by his contemporaries to be eccentric, if not on the verge of lunacy. Despite the work of Owen and Babbage, it was not until the late 1800s that owners and managers began to raise concerns about the problem of material and human inefficiency. Indeed, much of the political unrest in Europe during the 19th century was due to political power struggles between the aristocratic classes and a new emerging class of factory owners struggling to define the role that labor would play in the Industrial Revolution. Frustrated by this opposition to his ideas, Owen left England for the United States and founded a communal township at New Harmony, Indiana, in 1824 which incorporated much of his philosophy. To complicate the management task, many laborers had not had access to education; thus, literacy was low as was the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Foremost among the technological advancements was the discovery of how to derive energy from steam. By this time markets were becoming saturated and competition for greater profits had intensified. Most of those employed as managers had to learn their position based on ad hoc problem solving. Two of the best-known theorists of this period were Robert Owen and Charles Babbage.
The Industrial Revolution led to radical changes in the way people work, socialize, engage in politics, and carry on their daily lives. Moreover, steam power allowed for the development of machinery that could lower production costs, produce larger volumes of goods, and ultimately provide for swifter transportation of those goods to markets.
Many of Owen's ideas about the management of human resources were assimilated into a school of thought, referred to as behavioral theory, that emerged in the 1920s. However, it was the advancement of technology in several key spheres that culminated in the rapid emergence and growth of industrial manufacturing. Managers of factories, however, had to find a different set of principles and techniques in order to be effective. Owen believed that factory workers would be more productive if they were motivated through rewards rather than punishments. Hence, it was both the invention of new forms of energy for the production and transportation of goods and radical social changes that promoted the Industrial Revolution.
Charles Babbage (1792-1871) is considered a genius for his contribution to the development of the modern school of mathematics. His application of mathematical principles to management, and his development of an "analytic engine" whose ideas are represented in the modern computer in the form of program control, micro-programming, multiprocessing, and array processing. However, an additional technological advancement was necessary in order for factories and industries to grow. Babbage also had a strong understanding of the importance of human resources as related to efficiency. Many of his ideas would be incorporated both in classical management theory and in quantitative management theory, which were espoused in the 1900s.
Prior to the Industrial Revolution in Europe and the United States, most human labor was performed in relation to the soil. While these ideas are widely accepted now, they were considered "too radical" by other manufacturers and politicians of that time. A person noted that "he spoke as if he hated mankind in general, Englishmen in particular, and the English government and organ grinders most of all. He came to recognize that human resources were as valuable to the production of goods as were financial and material resources. Yet trained managers were in short supply. Great amounts of managerial time were spent in providing oral instructions and demonstrations of tasks to be performed. While goods could be produced in greater quantities, at lower costs, and in less time, customers had to be available.
Babbage's major contribution to management is his book "On the Economy of Machinery and Manufactures", in which he described in great detail how mathematics could be applied to problems of inefficient use of materials and facilities. He advocated profit-sharing plans and bonus systems as ways to achieve better relations between management and labor. As factories based on the use of this new technology were set up, the need for greater numbers of laborers generated political tension in many European societies.
The obvious solution to this problem was to hire managers to oversee parts of the production process. During this time, several individuals began to address issues of management both in practice and in writings. The steam engine, as perfected by James Watt, provided a mechanism for obtaining cheap and efficient energy. Where a single city may have constituted the total market for the goods produced in a factory, railroads and ships powered by steam could now efficiently transport the goods over a much wider area to be sold to new customers. However, this could not be achieved without a readily available labor force.
As a result, human labor and energy were augmented by machines, and industrial development spread throughout Western civilization. As an individual factory grew in numbers of employees, it became more difficult for one person to oversee the operation. Artisans comprised a small segment of labor which was primarily confined to the cities and concentrated in the production of goods such as cloth, shoes, tools, and weapons. The focus of managers, therefore, was more on directing subordinates than on coordinating and motivating the work force.
Babbage experimented with several motivating techniques and became a strong advocate for improving working conditions through increasing the minimum working age of children to 10 years, providing regular meal breaks for workers, and reducing the workday to 101/2 hours with no night work for children. The rapid growth of factories posed management problems different from those encountered in pre-industrial organizations.
Robert Owen (1771-1858) was the owner of a mill in New Lanark, Scotland. Ultimately, many of the peasants moved to the city to obtain work in the developing factories. The state could operate without competition or having to show a profit; the church could organize and manage its activities because of the devotion of the faithful; and the military could control large numbers of troops through a rigid hierarchy of discipline and authority. With most of the laborers dispersed on farmlands, often working under conditions of virtual servitude to large landowners, attempts to reform society began to occur. Upset by the noise made by organ grinders on the street outside his house, he would counter by blowing a bugle in front of his house, much to the dismay of his neighbors.
Despite the work of Owen and Babbage, it was not until the late 1800s that owners and managers began to raise concerns about the problem of material and human inefficiency. By this time markets were becoming saturated and competition for greater profits had intensified.
Martin Hahn PhD has received his education and degrees in Europe in organizational/industrial sociology. He grew up in South-East Asia and moved to Europe to get his tertiary education and gain experience in the fields of scientific research, radio journalism, and management consulting.

Literacy Lunacy: Eleanor Coerr's Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes
Literacy Lunacy: Eleanor Coerr’s Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes
It’s no secret I adore Japanese culture. Since childhood, I gravitated to shows, books, and art relating to almost anything Japanese. In elementary school, I came across Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes and I immediately knew it was meant for me. While its story is a bit nontraditional for a children’s book, it connects with me even today. It stills sit on my shelf now, waiting for the right…

I hope he teaches them separately. Idk if it makes sense but I think it would be very in character for sam to, in a way, be jealous of dean, I guess. I know it sounds absurd but it's not I mean it in a very specific way, like in cannon. Like hes not jealous of cas like dean would be if sam found someone cuz hes Well AdjustedTM, but I think he has extremely polarizing feelings about cas. In no way does he resent dean obviously, in fact hes vry protective of him, he just, wants to get along with him, ig. And in a worse (to him) way, wants that affection from him. Hes a kiddo!! Ofcourse he wants affection, but he thinks cas only has it for dean, which hes both glad for & weary of, but I think he doesnt realize that cas will eventually come to be protective of him, too. That's his kid!! That's their kid brother!! So you know, this montage of cas personally teaching him about the plants, as opposed to dean passing on the knowledge like he thought would happen. And before giving dean the book like he planned, he asks Sam if he would tell him what it says, & is suitably impressed by Sam's literacy (which makes sam happier than he'll admit) & he feels respected & safe & important & it's the start of their relationship which will devolve into The Chaos Duo that nerds out about eucalyptus & cas carries sam around on his shoulders & sam hangs off them upside down & steals dean's cookies off the counter & dean hates them so much
Alternatively it would also be wonderful to see the impact that sam would have on cas. I think the way we know these characters in canon, dean is the one that tries to teach cas what fun is, & how you're supposed to have it. Yet it is sam who ends up sort of successfully teaching him Fun. Probably because he never intends to teach him he sorta just encourages him to have it & discover it on his own. & as a happy coincidence, it turns out their definitions of it are actually compatible. Dean teaches cas a lot about humanity, & dean definitely finds in cas a person he can genuinely have fun with, something he can't do Completely with sam because their sibling dynamic is haunted by their parent-child dynamic
But for cas it's the exact opposite, I think. With dean hes busy worshipping, observing, consuming, lost. Hes happy & content because hes deriving joy from dean being happy & content. But with sam he can actually, fuck around, essentially, is what I'm trying to say. ShenanigansTM, general teenage lunacy, etc etc. Just even geeking out about ridiculously niche stuff
So in wander home, sam might bring out a part of cas that dean hasn't gotten to see yet. Just as cas will bring out a part of dean sam hasnt seen yet. & sam, well Sam's parts are rather known to dean. Except what he actively hides so that's ok.
Thank you.
Yesss I so agree with everything u just said!!!! Like Dean is so earnest and all but its sam who would be like come on cas :) lets have fun :) pick me up so i can scale this tree branch :) oh u dont want me to get lost in the woods? i guess you will have to chase me then bc im running into them!!! and cas would be all AHHHHHH bc he’s so stressed and has so much on his shoulders but then eventually he would end up having fun :)) !!! but yes at first sam is like I Dont Trust You. I feel like cas teaching sam alone would go a long way to developing that trust,  but i also feel like for at least a while sam would be like really scared to be that far from dean while alone with cas. like he’d get all defensive and hissy but really he’d be terrified ;~; but thats only at first. later he’d still be wary of cas but cas teaching him would be like Bonding. Honestly rn im leaning towards writing both scenes? where cas teaches sam and dean together when sam is still very new and sam is all hissy, then maybe a cute one with just him and dean bc bringing sam Didnt Work, and dean and cas get all blushy and cute and hold hands like they wouldn’t if sam were there, and then after that one where cas teaches sam alone after sam trusts him a liiiitle more :))

People do seem to claim being an empath a lot more these days. It’s honestly just made things harder for people who are sensitive to emotions. Be that by instinctively understanding body language, picking up differences in voices, or something else. It is kind of hurtful to be accused of “doing it for attention” or “bullshitting” though. My grandmother, my Mom, and I (and various other relatives) have all been very in tune with the emotions of those around us. Now that could easily be because we all experienced constant trauma during our childhoods and unconsciously picked up the skills to read body language. Or it could be something we were born with. I understand your frustration, I get frustrated too and I’d never try to shame you! This is your page and your opinion! Just, we’re not all bad ❤️ it’s not mystical or special, it’s just something some of us do
This is actually!!!! Such a good example of what being highly empathetic actually is!!!! And actually a good example of the reason why I hate this "I'm an empath" train, because this = high empathy, not what this trend is talking about. Some people have a very high degree of social literacy + intelligence, usually the result of a secure attachment style and neurotypical brain, allowing them to exhibit highly empathetic behaviors. Other people, like myself, have conditioned themselves because of trauma to be hyper aware of changes in mood, expression, and tone, and that hypervigilance can present as high empathy. Still other people have mental illness that heightens their response to perceived emotional change, this is very common in BPD and ADHD, it's part of rejection sensitive dysphoria. But this whole "I'm an empath" shit is fucking stupid because it's making this weird "I'm three states away and I got a SENSE that you were feeling something so now I'm reaching out to confirm my assumption, manipulate your emotional response for selfish reasons, in order to feel good about myself and brag about it!" Which is lunacy at worst, and at best, it's a great example of how the human brain is literally MADE to recognise patterns in behavior, so if your friend posts an update that feels off (because your brain subconsciously recognises a deviation from an established pattern) and you call them to confirm somethings up, you're not an ~Empath™~ you are a functioning human with a brain. Being able to recognise and name emotions doesn't make someone an ~Empath™~ and it's so annoying to me that there's this weird trend. Empathy is a combination of social intelligence, paired with (in good cases) secure attachment style or (in bad cases) anxious/avoidant attachment style. That's all. Seeing the science of how our brains work diluted into some bizarre spiritualist cult witchtok bullshit is annoying as hell to me. The actual way our brains learn and perform empathy is way cooler!!!

A Path Forward - Pro-life Ideology on the Left
Tumblr media
Alabama has recently passed the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the United States, with the clear intention to force the courts to revisit the landmark Roe v. Wade decision. Under the passed law, Doctors who perform abortions any time after six weeks into a pregnancy could be charged with up to 99 years in prison. While women are not punished for seeking out abortions, the severe limitations and punishments given out by the law would all but dry up options for women who do seek to do so. While it is unlikely that this law will ever take effect, this is a regressive attempt to return to a time before the 1974 court decision to legalize abortion for women, and would represent an enormous step back in Women's rights if found viable by The Supreme Court. Listening to the responses from Pro-life advocates, politicians, and lawmakers - it is clear that they are dead-set on preventing access to abortion at all costs - even going so far as to challenge long standing conservative positions on states rights and constitutional support.
Hearing all of this, it makes one wonder if there isn't a better way forward, one that can continue to support the values of those who are pro-life, also supporting the rights of women, and work to bring the rate of abortion to effectively zero. I can imagine such an ideology - a Pro-Life argument for the left, one that retains the understanding of the pro-choice population who feel that losing the option to abort would be a permanent infringement of their rights,  while also encouraging and proving with data and intention to reduce the rate of actual abortions performed to zero. After all, the goal has always been to not abort - for both sides. One side, the left, simply recognizes the choice as a necessary one for many in the country who are unable and/or unwilling, either economically, medically, or morally to bear a child into the world. That does not mean, however, that the Pro Life people on the right don't also have a point. If you believe that life starts at the moment of conception, or at the moment of a fetal heartbeat, than it's not difficult to imagine why abortion is murder from your point of view. Not wanting to murder unborn children does not make you evil. I don't believe anyone wants there to be a necessity for abortion outside of medically or legally necessary circumstances.  However, to again deny that the necessity exists is bordering on lunacy.
Both sides have a reasonable argument and stake in the outcome of this problem, which is why the issue is so contentious. So what is the path forward? I believe that with a Pro-Life argument on the left, we can find a way to politically resolve the issue of abortion without violating anyone's rights, while also greatly reducing the rate of abortion over the next twenty years. The answer lies in statistics. According to NPR and the Guttmacher Institute, Abortion is at it's lowest rate since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1974. The progress is largely due to Americans increased access to contraception, sex education, as well as increased economic opportunity for women across the country. How do we know this is where the progress lies? It's simple: Look at the states with more access to contraception, abortion, and sex education and compare their birth rates to states with less access to those things.
The results are clear. Sex education works. Contraception works. Contraception is not abortion. Despite some religions strict interpretation of the role of contraception in family planning, Christian ideas about contraception come from church teachings rather than scripture, as the Bible has little to say about the subject. Furthermore, allowing non-religious, non-Christians access to contraception is not a violation of church teachings - If you are a practicing theist, you must follow the rules of your faith, but preventing lay people from having access is not really within your control, and is frowned upon within christian teaching. So what message should a potential Pro-Life Democrat share with their constituency? Empathy. Empathy for the victims of rape and incest, for single mothers in a terrible situation, for families who are experiencing the toughest decisions they have ever faced. And yes, empathy for the faithful who feel that the law is not on their side in this issue.
The second thing a Pro-Life democrat needs is a plan. They need a focused platform around the reduction of abortion rates in their states, using a variety of methods. The great thing about sex education and contraception is that results are nearly immediate as they are delivered at the exact moment they are needed - during the vulnerable teen years. However, they shouldn't stop with just contraception and education. There should be state-sponsored events for the faithful, helping to deliver messages and teachings about family planning geared towards the denominations practiced in the community. Christian and religious voices against abortion should be brought to the table for discussions and planning around reducing abortion. Faith leaders should be kept in the loop about the progress being made. Again, the goal is to make abortion unnecessary, NOT illegal.  This means tackling other issues that will help combat the problem if resolved. The wealth gap, the education gap, racial bias. All of these things contribute to the rate of abortion and all of them will help lower it if resolved. Remember, it was found time and time again that the rate of pregnancy in developing countries decreased as female literacy and education increased. That doesn't just apply to the developing world. We have the ability to solve this issue, to greatly reduce the rate of abortion, and to appease both pro-life and pro-choice citizens if approached properly.

Let’s Play “Moments: Millionaire Makeover” Part 1
This story starts off by warning that there is adult content. *cracks knuckles* Sign me up for this!
For something different, I've picked the name Hebe for the MC.
We start off with Hebe in a car with somebody named Bennett. He's some big-wig at such-and-such company, and Hebe works for him. They're coming home from a party, and he offered to drive her home, which makes Hebe more than a little anxious.
Tumblr media
As they're driving along, Bennett has to suddenly break for some idiot who just jumped in front of their oncoming car. Hebe probably would have whacked her head against the dash had Bennett not put an arm in front of her to protect her. And it was just for saving her, which Hebe understands... but he still kind of put his arm over her boob, and... wow. That's not awkward at all. They were silent until he dropped her off at her house, when he said “see you later”.
Hebe then remarks that it wasn't until the next day when she fell in love with him. But her chances for having a one-on-one conversation following that were slim to none... they just didn't even work in the same worlds, despite working at the same place.
Some time later, the obligatory BFF, Morgan, invites Hebe out on Friday. To a bachelor's auction. Go on. She has to elaborate on what a “bachelor auction” is, and for those who don't know, it's where they parade young men on a stage and then ladies bid on him. The bachelor then takes the person who bought him on a date. The money usually goes for some cause, like starving children or to help the church get a new roof or whatever.
Hebe isn't overly impressed with the idea, and would rather stay home and do nothing. Morgan, however, says that Hebe needs to get out once in a while. She then brings up Bennett... because of course she did. Hebe is stunned about the chance to finally have another conversation with Bennett. Morgan tells her to buy an evening gown and some fancy shoes, and hangs up.
Friday comes along, and Hebe goes to the auction. But she feels awkward and out of place; she works in a cubical, and seems to be some sort of programmer... the other people here are the kind who rub elbows for a living.
Tumblr media
That's Morgan.
Tumblr media
Oh, and this is Hebe.
Morgan has to remind Hebe of why she's doing this, and decides to get Hebe drunk off of champagne. Hebe also kind of slips on the marble floors in her brand-new high heels. Hebe makes some morbid joke about hiring a date, but Morgan has to remind her that there's a difference between hiring an escort and buying a bachelor. Sort of, I guess? Anyway, Morgan seems to think that this is somehow better than just getting her friend a subscription to one of the nicer dating sites. But Hebe also seems to agree with Morgan, that she should find a boyfriend. Even if it does “reek of impulsiveness and lunacy”.
She thinks about the car accident that made her fall for Bennett. Her brother apparently died in another car accident years earlier, and it kind of put her into an emotional stupor... one that she didn't wake up from until her near-miss with Bennett.
She asks Morgan about how much money that people will be bidding. She only has three thousand, which is her vacation money, and the only thing that she's willing to part with. And even then, the thought of dropping three grand on a singular damned date doesn't exactly sit well with her. But Morgan says that she'll “treat” Hebe to this, since it was her idea in the first place. (Damn straight you pay to get me laid, you lunatic!)
They go sit down, and Morgan reminds her to get out of her comfort zone once in a while. Hebe agrees that she doesn't want to be that “nerd” anymore... and girl. Don't change yourself because of some guy. I promise you that his dick game not nearly good enough for that bullshit. You don't even have to fuck him, and I can tell you that already! But then Morgan goes on to say that things that men like in a woman is the knowledge that she's desired by other men. Which... tread carefully, Morgan. This is starting to sound like sexist claptrap to me.
Morgan then grabs a bidding paddle (82, if this is important?). The Emcee comes out and says that the money will go to a literacy foundation, so there. The first bachelor comes out, and starts the bidding at $5k! FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. JFC WHY. Also, probably a good thing that Morgan is paying, because that's 2k more than Hebe said she had to spend. Morgan lifts her paddle at 7k, and Hebe's like WTF Morgan?! That bachelor goes for 14k, and not to our MC. Hebe also thinks about how she only had 3k, and the starting bid didn't even start at her limit.
Some time passes, and finally the last bachelor is announced.
Tumblr media
Oh gee, I wonder who the actual love interest is going to be? Could it be bachelor number one? Bachelor number two? Or the only bachelor with an actual avatar?
Hebe remarks about how handsome he is, and Morgan is surprised by Hebe's almost unconscious utterance. This embarrassed Hebe to no end. Morgan asks if Hebe is having sexual fantasies about the mystery guy, but Hebe says that she doesn't even have sexual fantasies about Bennett. But this leads her down a weird rabbit hole of thinking about Bennett naked and wondering if Bennett was affected by his having accidentally touched her breast during their little accident. But she puts a stop on those thoughts before they can go too far.
The emcee gives the description for the bachelor, which makes Hebe think that he wouldn't be interested in her. Even though like... people lie about those things. Even self-lying, but it's even worse when people are told to make something up. This is for charity after all, and some weirdo who lounges in bed past noon and whose hobbies include watching repeats of The Office... doesn't exactly bring in money for charity! The emcee goes on to say that the winner of this man will spend two days and a night in New York City, have romantic dinners at five-star restaurants, see a Broadway play, a concert, and various museums. Well, no ice sculptures then... lame. /Groundhog Day references
Morgan gets into a bidding war to win this guy for Hebe. It makes Hebe uncomfortable, but Morgan is fucking determined to get her friend laid, no matter the cost, apparently. Also, exactly what does Morgan do that she's got like 13k lying around to throw at something like this? As the price keeps going up, Hebe thinks “I could buy a brand new car for that amount of money.” She also thinks about Bennett actually seeing her as a woman worth being in a relationship with.
Morgan finally bids 20k, which the emcee says is the highest bid of the evening. Nobody is willing to top that, so Morgan wins the bid. Morgan offers Hebe a self-satisfied look. As the bachelors are paraded out onto the stage one last time, Hebe looks at the bachelor Morgan won for her, and she starts thinking really dirty thoughts. She wants to know what his face looks like.
The emcee then has the bachelors take off their masks, but there's only one that Hebe can focus on, obviously. When he takes his mask off, Hebe has to fight off fainting. She knows this man. From three years earlier. In Dublin. And it wasn't exactly a good time.

Energy in my heart is of chemical foam. A street of taxies, worn tires, blood and flesh. Behold all that is liberty is a parody of Utopia. A shining boulevard of buyers and giga-movies. Minor depression is nonsense, La vie en rose is on sale. They say you should know you are happier than you realize. Dying literacy is systematically auto-killed. The formaldehyde street of buyers and hanging wires. Moisturize that dry synergy with artificial sweetener. Raining money into the high-rise mega-temples. You can not write the word "ignorance". The future is on sale. Push aside and laugh at the karmic tale saying it's superstition. Now it is coming to you, giving off a stench and devouring your shadow. The parade of terror is coming, and it is in your name. The roaring MC becomes a lethal dose for the public. On the street of cripples, selling diamonds and battered Tao. Behold all that is liberty is a parody of Utopia. Rely on SSRI and say 'hi-ho' in the coffee shop. Minor theory is flimflam, hedonism is on sale. It is non-repayable, it has reached the point of no return. Now it is coming to you giving off a stench, devouring your shadow. The parade of terror is coming, and it is in your name. Now your shadow procreates as if the ground is being smothered. The parade of lunacy is coming, and it is in your name.

They don't check if votes are cast on a candidate's merits, which is Donald Trump's millionth undeserved break. The inspirational leader is against whoever loathes him, which is a kind of principle. Those receiving his crabby ire love sinking to his level.
Some people have personalities so strong that they're defined by who hates them. The incumbent's greatest strength takes the form of contempt from liberals, who are eager to draw attention from how often they agree politically with their archenemy. They all love tariffs if you take off the names. Having unpleasant enemies is sufficient to impress some voters.
Trump getting support because of who loathes him is an overreaction like a high schooler befriending a juvenile delinquent to stick it to caring parents. Rebellion is fun until the family's silverware is pawned to buy glue to huff.
The president's smartest opponents keep helping him. Inadvertent assistance is provided constantly by pompous dunces who not only mistakenly think they’re elite but believe that’s good. Thank you for being better than the rest of us. Will you kindly provide guidance to the rabble from your blessed perch? Setting out to get Trump no matter what confirms his deepest paranoia, which is really just what we all needed.
So little support for Trump occurs because of what he actually does. It might be fitting to someone embodying a hollow persona, but it's still not healthy. Only the head zombies like Trump on his own terms, which are not very good in case anyone hasn't noticed despite what his sons' tweets claim.
Professional Trump foes commit his same mistake, namely overreacting to the point of letting it define oneself. Some people are so alike that they can't stand each other.
Calmly pragmatic liberals have decided the best way to respond to Trump is with Year Zero lunacy. They're making voters choose between a boorish oaf and someone who thinks the wrong side won the Cold War. The alternative to Trump involves sticking it to the oppressive decadent Western bourgeoisie. I miss elections between factions who disagreed about whether the successful should be punished a bit more.
Telling you how to live is a popular hobby amongst politicians. I'd call it a passion. The party doesn't matter even though each member would emphasize it's the only thing that matters. Politicians have to check lapel pins to remember which side they're on.
One side's particularly committed lunacy is the easiest way for voters to distinguish. The alleged party of science is ardent about the ability to switch gender with one's mind. Disregarding genitalia extends to including what pronouns you're permitted to use. Opposing Trump means a man who thinks he's a woman gets to call you sexist for noting the conflict with biology.
Nothing depresses like counting how many times humans have to suffer through socialism to retain the lesson that forced sharing leads to quite a corpse count. Survivors envy the dead, as they're surprised at how efficient governments can be when it comes to confiscating what little goods remain. Stealing dignity in the collective's name is an even worst offense than taking stuff. Socialism teaches us to avoid being materialistic. It's not a crime when the government does it.
Noting one side punches orphans doesn't make the other option appealing. Republicans are so ticked by the way they see a boorish overcompensating oaf being persecuted that they feel compelled to back him. Having slimy enemies doesn’t change the fact he’s a bad entrepreneur, president, and person. He still boasts to compensate for ineptitude even if he's opposed by America's Shining Path.
Supporting someone whose obnoxiousness only begins with personality should feel slimy. A president who truly deserves your vote should understand what a trade deficit is. For all his assurances that he's the last warrior defending against neo-commies, the best businessman ever sure is eager to not touch unconscionable spending or the horrid entitlements which bankrupt the nation like they're his companies.
True conservatism is found in noting every option sucks. Anyone who wants to hold office is arrogant enough to rob you and expect gratitude for the privilege. The reality of everyone with the slightest access to power craving authority over humanity is especially true now when both factions think adding debt is a race.
An ideology should involve believing in something for a reason other than it ticking off people who are fun with whom to disagree. Backing Trump because it enrages Democrats feel like Boomers who liked the Beatles because the simple pop tunes irked parents. Someday, there'll be a presidency decent people can like on its own terms.
A red hat may as well display a middle finger to those who loathe the president responsible for making such tacky apparel into a political statement. A gesture would be easier than reading. Since when does a cap come with a literacy test?
Fighting authority now takes the form of voting to reelect a president. There's nothing punk about endorsing the person who wants to boss you around. True enlightenment comes in hating people for who they are.

Literacy Lunacy: Cherie Bennett's Searching for David's Heart
Literacy Lunacy: Cherie Bennett’s Searching for David’s Heart
This book… THIS BOOK! Where do I even begin? I’ve had this novel for years I don’t even know how it came into my possession. It was eventually made into a film in 2004, which aired on Freeform (used to be ABC Family and Fox Family before that.) It starred Raviv Ullman and Danielle Panabaker. Sadly, I missed what appeared to be the ONLY televised airing and couldn’t find it ever again. Of course,…

Literacy Lunacy: Sarah Blakley-Cartwright’s Red Riding Hood
Literacy Lunacy: Sarah Blakley-Cartwright’s Red Riding Hood
This was going to be a movie. I’m positive it’s why I purchased it. As it turns out, the book I was actually written for the movie. It’s a tie-in novel. Kind of like one of those junior novels for Disney films. Except Sarah Blakley-Cartwright’s Red Riding Hood is a young adult novel in the classic fairy tale. Valerie’s sister was beautiful, kind, and sweet. Now she is dead. Henri, the handsome…
