But I'm not complaining. I would watch Diego Luna do anything. Literally. He could sit there and read the phone book and I would be in raptures.

Yes, Diego Luna is gorgeous and charming and funny. But he is profoundly talented, creative, and courageous in his work, and I feel like he is one of the best actors of our time. I became convinced of this when I began watching Narcos in between Andor releases. Cassian and Miguel are completely different men, though one could argue there's a modicum of crossover in the way they become disillusioned. I suppose you could even say that Casssian and Miguel start in similar places but develop in opposite directions. To watch one actor play both journeys is nothing short of amazing.

One of the many things I love about Diego Luna is that he will not be boxed in to a "type" or a specific genre. He participates in unexpectedly light and enjoyable projects, like much of his voice work in animation. Or he appears in unpredictable places, like a Katy Perry music video 😀

When you sent me this ask, you probably didn't expect me to go off the rails gushing about Diego Luna...but as you can see, very little pressure is needed to send me into a full-on tornado of Diego Luna love!

You know, I feel like purgatory would have been a perfect setting for Hazbin Hotel because it's a place people go to before final judgement or death.

YES!! Every time I look into the lore and setting of H4zbin/H3lluva, I wonder why this wasn’t something that was utilized. It would’ve added not only a lot of nuance to Charlie and her motivations, whether or not it took place directly in purgatory or not. If they had remained in hell, purgatory could’ve been an interesting wrinkle in her plan, or something that would’ve explained why all of the angels, not just the exterminators, are so uncaring towards sinners (the idea of “if you deserved a chance you would’ve gotten it).

Or, if Charlie had started the hotel in purgatory, then there could’ve been questions about why a princess of hell wanted to help them. Maybe purgatory is as corrupt as Heaven or Hell, and Charlie’s work is meant to be a criticism of the way institutions meant to help may not actually provide any real support. But the show side steps even mentioning working with these ideas that could’ve given much needed depth to the first ring of Hell.

And To clarify my thought from my last post, I think H4zbin would’ve been better served with a setting akin to magical realism, while maybe borrowing some biblical elements to explain where characters got their powers or legacies from. This would’ve removed a lot of the baggage these biblically based characters come with, making so the characters could’ve just been the characters without us questioning why certain elements aren’t addressed (i.e. Adam, Lucifer, Lilith, etc.).

hey so thats rlly funny u ask that bcuz the next chapter will give u more insight! im gonna try have it up by the end of the week!! it will be in harry’s pov right after james’ attempt, and will give more of an insight as to why harry is distant with james. a lot of it is due to how guilty he feels. to him, james’ experiences and mental degradation feel like a testament to his shitty parenting, and harry fluctuates between ignoring the issue and drowning in the guilt of it. so he tends to latch onto people he feels he hasn’t fucked up, and can get away with projecting a shinier version of himself (eg. lily and teddy and NOT ginny, james or albus, who make him feel the worst parts of himself whether intentionally or unintentionally). so even if james is not directly picking fights with him like albus or ginny, the shame still lingers because james has been through so much.

Allow me, if you will, a moment to go absolutely rabid over your blog and everything that goes on here. I’ve always loved history but the USA hardly likes teaching anything that isn’t American History. I’ve forgotten how much I love WORLD history, specifically the rise and fall of empires.

I’ve been smothering myself in your posts and I love it ALL. JC, Pompey, Crassus, Sulla, Octavian, Antony, Cassius, and Brutus. Wow what a mood. You don’t miss on your references or your modern AU’s and I’m over here like- I’m trying to buy whatever web comic you put out, book you write, etc.

Also, if you’d be so kind to list some material with like themes to start breaking into these topics. Preferably materials in English or translated materials.

if you really want to start on the ground floor for breaking into something, I'd recommend my personal favorite approach which is picking the figure that's most interesting to you, reading through plutarch's biography on them (free! online! in english!) and then putting their name through a jstor search and reading whatever sounds fun.

Facts about Luna under the cut <3<3

When growing up, she'd frequently visit her grandparents and she'd bake with her grandma before going to help her grandpa on the farm. As an adult, she still uses the tips her grandpa taught her about farming along other general tips he gave her, occasionally she’ll bake the recipes her grandma taught her, and she’ll share it with the villagers. Evelyn, who was close with her grandma, jokes about how it’s even better than how Luna’s grandma used to make it. (Grandma’s spirit is not pleased)

She doodles a lot in her notebooks, her drawings usually consist of whoever her partner in that timeline is and also of her cat. The doodles aren't the best and she will get very embarrassed if anyone sees them and comments on them-

When Luna gets stronger as she works on the farm she starts picking up her friends (after asking if she can) as a way to show off how strong she got. For example, she can fully carry Sebastian, and she can lift Alex a few inches off the ground. She always gets excited whenever she can pick someone as she’s never really had the strength to do so beforehand-

Luna has a small trend when it comes to naming her animals, it started when she got her first two chickens and she named them after desserts (specifically; Custard and Tart) it may or may not have been because she was thinking about making said desserts and was hungry at the time of naming, but since then she's stuck to it and continued the trend of naming all future animals after desserts as well.

The Junimos like to spend time on her farm as it has lots of lush nature (she left some parts untouched and just left for nature to reclaim because she noticed the wildlife liked to stay there to make nests and the likes) But occasionally a Junimo will get curious about Luna and will start trailing behind her as she does her work, so she always carries extra berries on her at all times to hand out to the Junimos if any are following her for a long period of time (she assumes they get tired from floating after her all the time)

hii ari !! abt the second timeline where adriana was the protagonist .. i remember ur carrd saying that she was in a relationship w luna in that timeline too — would u imagine it being different in any way , compared to the third timeline ? would there be a case where one of them may remember parts of their relationship from the second, or have a 'gut feeling' / 'intuition' that was rly memories from the timeline before ? i hope this all makes sense LOL

Hmm.. I think that it would be at least a little bit different, by virtue of the fact that in the second timeline, Adriana fully took the role of the player as seen in-game, with no-one else surviving Grandview Station. So, as a result, while I do think that she and Luna would fall in love in the same way - Luna’s feelings appearing quite suddenly after Adri saves Gardevoir and later herself from the sanctum, which was midway through Adri’s own attraction rising slowly over time since meeting her - I also think that Adriana wouldn’t have been able to spend quite as much time with Luna as she had wanted, because she had more responsibilities as the spearhead of the movement to take down Team Meteor. As a result, it’s plausible to say that while we were definitely still close, it was not to as much of an extent (or at least had not developed to that extent yet).

Conversely, in the third/current timeline, Adri doesn’t have to be there for every single event, because there is now someone else travelling the region (in the form of the player), whom she is now mirroring by continuing to collect badges but doesn’t have to constantly be glued to. So, for example, she can spend more time with Luna after returning to Reborn City by not having to go through the Devon Corp raid. By the time the player has done that + defeated Adrienn + explored potentially the entirety of Tourmaline Desert (which is massive) + gone all the way through Titania’s gym, all that Adriana has to do in the same timeframe is just defeat Adrienn, fly from Beryl Ward to the top of Mirage Tower (to pick up Corybantia), then continue north to Never After - because she catches up with the player right before they battle Titania, at least if they’re on Reshiram Route. This (and other examples throughout the story, which I’ll admit I haven’t fully come up with yet) gives her much more downtime compared to the player.

What I haven’t considered as much as I could have is the last part of what you were saying, about feelings and memories of the previous timeline poking through. And I think that is a VERY fun concept to play with - the game sort of touches on it right at the end, but not really to much of an extent. In fact, something that I was considering was saying that Adriana’s experience - so, the second timeline - was closer to Episode 18 than it was to Episode 19, because the game itself was still only on Episode 18 when I myself first played it. This allows for some fun moments in terms of things like Adriana being surprised to hear the name Borealis so early, or being apprehensive to enter Agate until Cain and the player arrive, or suddenly feeling a lot less sure of things after defeating Hardy (because E18 only went up to his Gym battle even though Adri herself did actually get all the way to the end of maingame), or - to bring it back to an F/O-focused perspective - being even more shocked than everyone else that Elias tries to shave off Luna’s hair.

I think that Adriana would be the only one to really have these moments of.. I suppose you could call them anamnesis, but she isn’t necessarily remembering the previous timeline, just getting vague intuitions of things. This is because she’s the only one to have more explicitly been brought back in from the previous timeline - and brought back from her fate in that timeline - because of Anna’s feelings of guilt causing her to intervene more. If she hadn’t intervened beyond the point of a simple reset, it wouldn’t have been guaranteed that Adri still travelled out to Reborn (because she wasn’t the chosen hero for this timeline), defeating the main point of bringing her back - which was to make sure enough people would be present to power Anna’s wish if the new chosen hero, the player, had to be saved like that as she was. I do think there is potential for her to eventually become more anamnestic, certainly moreso than Fern, but that may not actually occur until.. maybe the Giratina quest. Which is late into postgame.

..I think it’s safe to say that I could ramble on about this for ages considering how much I’ve already written here in one go. So, thank you very much for such a question, friend - I am very grateful to have been asked it and it’s given me a LOT to think about!!
