BDBWM Day 9 | Aunts and Uncles from Rogue Gallery
original prompt | complete masterlist
On days Marinette doesn’t feel like donning the fox and cat, she takes the Mouse pendant and escapes into the deep cracks of Gotham. Partly for stress relief, partly to associate with more people.
She transforms and splits into three copies: Multimari, Minimari, and Marimouse.
---
Multimari finds her first target (victim?) in a nearby alley. She drops onto his shoulder and dusts off her suit.
“Eddie, I told you to stop wearing that hideous suit,” she scolds. “I am one second away from designing you a new one!”
“Oh, hello mousey,” The Riddler greets. “I like the patterns in this one.”
“The question marks? Please.”
“But it’s a suit! Doesn’t it look dapper?”
“Horrible. It looks horrible.” Multimari grabs on as he moves around. “What are you up to anyway?”
“Setting up traps for the dear Bats of course,” the villain hums and bustles around. Multimari looks around. There’s an array of random things scattered around.
“Gross, you’re going to see the Bats wearing that?” She tuts.
---
Minimari slides down a leaf inside the botanical gardens. She’s caught by Harley Quinn just in time before she falls completely. Harley gasps in excitement. “Mousey! We’re about to have dinner!”
“Oops!” Minimari giggles. “Thanks for that Harley. And isn’t it midnight right now?”
“Never too late to eat! We’ve got alcohol.” Harley brings her to the table. “Pammy look who came to visit!”
“I heard.” Poison Ivy beams. “Haven’t seen you in a while, mouse.”
“Sorry. Got too busy.” Minimari scratches the back of her neck. “Three plates?”
“Kitty’s joining us. Girl talk and all,” Harley replies.
Minimari nods. She knows Selina is Catwoman, but Catwoman herself hasn’t suspected her identity at all. Harley puts her down on the tabletop and gives her a crumb from one of the muffins to munch on.
Catwoman saunters into the place. “Sorry I’m late. Had to steal something real quick.” She glances down on the table. “Hey mousey.”
Minimari gives a salute, instinctively shuddering at Catwoman’s joking predatory smile.
“Pfft, you mean flirt with your boyfriend.” Harley rolls her eyes.
“More or less.” Catwoman shrugs. “So mousey, how’ve you been lately darling?”
“Same old, same old.” Minimari takes a small chocolate chip for herself. She freezes and blinks rapidly all of a sudden.
“What’s wrong?” Ivy asks.
Minimari makes a face. “One of my copies is in trouble.”
---
Marimouse isn’t in trouble per se, but she’s gotten into a situation. As she’s heading to stalk the Iceberg Lounge, she accidentally falls down the drainage and ends up on the head of Killer Croc.
Killer Croc notices her and begins clawing at his head. She shrieks along with him. “No, wait! I’m not—aaaaah!”
He growls and stomps on the ground when she finally gets off.
“I come in peace!” Marimouse holds her hands up. But she jumps out of the way, when he tries to step on her again.
“Dang it! Mice belong to the sewers, you know!” She scoffs.

Daminette December Day 14- Bind/Toxic
@maribat-calendar-events
It was a strange experience for Marinette, walking around in disguise. Usually when she wore a disguise she swung between buildings and beat up villains. But nowadays, she found herself in the awkward and invasive view of the public eye. Dating a Wayne tended to do that to a person, especially while living in Gotham and especially when that Wayne was Damian. It was kind of embarrassing how often Damian appeared in the news, sometimes it was good news– an appearance at a gala, working out a shelter— usually it was bad. Like setting all of the animals at the circus free, or any outing with the rest of his family.
All of which meant that the press talked about him, and subsequently that meant they talked about who he was dating, aka Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Usually, it wasn’t so bad, most people mind their own business in Gotham, but occasionally she’d been photographed by the occasional tabloid, which led to her habit of wearing hats and sunglasses in public.
That’s what she was wearing when someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her into an alley. She reacted quickly. Dropping slightly, she slid one foot behind the kidnapper, grabbed his legs and pulled up, using the side of her hip as a pivot to drop him to the ground.
“She’s got strength for the tiny bug that she is. Hahahah! I crack myself up.” A bit further down the alleyway, the last person anyone wanted to encounter in Gotham appeared. The iconic purple suit, green hair and white face.
“Putain de merde!” Before Marinette could even try to run, a figure blocked the entrance to the alleyway. It didn’t stop her though, as she rushed towards the henchman and threw a punch to the face. The guy went to block it, obscuring his line of sight, so she kneed him in the abdomen causing the man to bend over in pain. Taking advantage, she sidestepped, elbowed him in the back and attempted to escape. It still wasnt enough though, as there were too many henchmen with the joker and before Marinette could escape, she was grabbed from behind again, this time a needle was stuck in her neck. Soon, her strength abandoned, her vision blurred and then darkness greeted her.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Light burned Marinette’s eyes as she woke up, causing her to squint and causing a headache that pounded her skull with reckless abandon. She really needed to get black out curtains for her room. But something didn’t feel right, there was a weird crimp in her neck, and for some reason, her shoulders were unusually stiff. She tried to move and when she couldn’t, she panicked. Jerking, her last memories came back to her and she struggled even more. All that she discovered was that her hands were tightly bound behind her and that she was alone in the room.
At least, Marinette was alone in the room until a door opened somewhere behind the blinding light, accompanied by maniacal laughter. “Glad to see sleeping beauty awake! Are you ready for your close up, princess?”
“Salopard! Why did you kidnap me?” If it was anyone else, they would have been terrified but Marinette was past caring and wanted to get the pleasantries of kidnapping out of the way.
“Ah, looks like we’re getting right to it. I just wanted to give a big Gotham welcome to our newest visitor and eventual Wayne– got to let you know what you're in for.” He stepped into view, just to the side of the light. “And since you’ve become such a big celebrity I figured it would be best to let your adoring public see the sunshine princess’ big day.”
“Do not call me ‘princess’ you tête de nœud.” Marinette glowered. “Only one person has the right to call me that.”
“You’re boyfriend?” He laughed again. “I don’t really care, princess.” Marinette just shook her head at his stupidity. She wasn’t going to concern herself when Joker got a late night visit from Chat Noir. She bet even the “clown prince” would run away from the black cat’s puns.
“Let’s get started! Lights! Camera!” Joker looked around the room at things Marinette couldn’t make out. “Action!” He walked over to her side and Marinette cringed away in disgust. “Hello Gothamites! Allow me to introduce my special guest here with me today. The one, the only, sunshine of Gotham and the Ice Prince’s girlfriend, Marinette!” He placed a hand on her shoulder and actively fought to push down her anger. “Why don’t you greet the public, Marinette?”
She didn’t bother responding, knowing that the only thing that would come out was a string of swear words. “Oh well, looks like she’s a bit shy. Let’s get on with the show!” Joker pulled out a needle and syringe. “Don’t worry, it only hurts-” the sound of glass shattering cut him off, he sighed. “Well, well, Batsy and the bird, I didn’t invite you here.”
“Let the girl go, Joker.”
“Sure, sure. Just one thing.” And without pause, he plunged the needle into Marinette’s arm. “There we go.” The effects were immediate, as laughter took over Marinette, a big grin overcoming her face. “Much better.”
“Joker!” Robin charged toward the rogue but pulled up short when the clown held a knife up to Marinette.
"Relax," Joker's maniacal laughter echoing in their ears. "I used the non-lethal version just for her. After all, the tourists'll stop coming if we keep killing them." He used the knife to cut away Marinette’s bonds. “Although you might want to get her to a hospital soon before her face sticks that way.” He put the knife against her throat, close enough that he could do some serious damage quickly, far away enough that her perpetual laughter didn’t bite into the blade. “Now, I’ll walk out of here, then you can take the girl.”
They started backing out of the room, Batman and Robin were watching and waiting. When they were a few feet from the door, Marinette took a chance. Grabbing the knife with her left hand, she pulled it away from herself, cutting her palm. Then twisting around to face Joker, she grabbed his wrist with her right hand. Letting go of the knife, she pulled the Joker’s arm forward and, with her free left hand, she rammed it into his elbow, breaking it.
The forced laughter almost made her screw up the next part but she did her best to pull herself together as she hooked her right foot behind his left and yanked it, hurling him to the ground. Batman and Robin wasted no time, running up to the two of them. Batman subdued Joker while Robin checked in on her.
“Are you ok, miss?” Robin grabbed her hand. Still laughing, Marinette nodded. She wasn’t ok, per se, but she was alive and away from the fashion freak known as Joker, so that counted for something. “We’ll get you to a hospital soon. Just follow me to an ambulance.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hours later, Marinette was given an antidote for the Joker venom, had her hand stitched together and had already given her report to the police. The first person she saw after that was Damian who quickly entered her hospital room. “How are you? Are you ok? Did they give you an antidote? Treat your wound? Did they harass you too much?” The questions flowed out one after the other.
Marinette held up her uninjured hand to stop him. “I’m going to need you to slow down a bit Damian.”
He looked away, the slightest bit of contrite adorning his face. “Pardon my abruptness.”
Marinette accepted his apology. “To answer your questions…. Yes, yes, yes… they stitched my hand, and no not really. The hospital is keeping me overnight to monitor any side-effects.” He nodded his head in approval, before an air of reluctance passed over him
“...I suppose this incident means that you…” he paused, not wanting to continue. After taking a moment to gather his courage he finished his thought. “...I suppose you would like to break up now.”
“No!” Her shout startled both of them. “I mean, yeah it was terrifying, but I’m not going to run away just because of this.”
“You could have died, Angel.”
“Ah, but I didn’t. And I have lady luck on my side Damian. Even if I have to face every Gotham rogue just because I’m dating you, I’m staying.” He was conflicted, happy that she still wanted to date him, concerned that he was putting her in danger.
He came up with a solution, “I’ll train you in combat then.”
A small laugh escaped Marinette, and a smile that warmed his heart graced her face. “I’ll take you up on the offer, but I’m not as helpless as you think.”
He gave her a satisfied smirk. “I know. I saw the video of you taking down the Joker. I’d expect nothing less from the woman I fell in love with.” His expression went blank at that, meanwhile Marinette blushed at hearing him say I love you for the first time.
“I love you too, Damian” He looked away, hiding his face with one hand.
“Never speak of this to anyone.”
Marinette looked at the entrance to the room where Dick, Jason, Stephanie, Alya and Adrien were standing. “I think it’s too late for that.”

Quick Update:
Due to coming down with a cold, I've not been able to write much this past week but I'm about 800 words in to the sequel of DitSMAiYG (I've got two sequels prepared, one fluffy (the one currently being written) and one angsty).
SCAB chapter 1 draft 2 is also still in the process of being written, I took a break from it to write the MariTim week prompts, and is currently over 2.5k long and roughly halfway through the chapter outline. So whilst the first draft was about 3.5k fully written, this one's only halfway through, has way better quality and I'm much happier with how it's turning out (although whether it'll be good enough to post once written and edited is another question).
So here's a snippet from both:

Seeing Ghosts
Read Seeing Ghosts on AO3
Masterlist
For Maribat March Day 12 - Second Chance
For as long as she could remember, Marinette could see ghosts. It wasn't always the ghosts of strangers, though. Her ghost encounters started small. When Marinette was four years old, her parents told her that the family cat, Tikki, had left to live in the countryside. Marinette didn't understand, because Tikki still lived with them. Tikki still meowed for pets, still purred when Marinette pet her, still played with her favorite toy, the laser pointer that Marinette got for her last birthday. It wasn't until two weeks later, that Tom and Sabine sat Marinette down and explained to her that Tikki had died, that she needed to stop pretending that she was still there. Marinette was confused until she saw the way Tikki's paws batted right through her toys, the way she never ate the scraps that Marinette dropped on the floor. Marinette knew two things for sure: Tikki was dead and Marinette could still see her ghost.
For years and years, Tikki was the only ghost that Marinette saw. Then Marinette turned fourteen and Marinette could suddenly see.
They haunted the corners of her eyes, lurking in her periphery. They were just shadows, phantoms until Marinette focused her eyes, and then she could see them clear as day. Ghosts were real and Marinette could see them. Ghosts were real and they were everywhere, an inescapable reality for Marinette.
Quickly, the ghosts learned that Marinette could see them. They followed her around, lingering at the edge of her sight. She could hear them too, little whispers about the baker's daughter, the only person who could see them. However, none of the ghosts were bold enough to approach her. That was the status quo, until one day when Marinette came home from school one day to a ghost lurking in her room.
Marinette gasped as she saw the ghost sitting in the chair at her desk, staring at her with knowing blue eyes. He was her age, which made his brutal injuries all the more horrific to look at. His skull was caved in. His chest was mangled. His skin was shredded and burned. He had been beaten to death, tortured in his final moments.
"I've been told that you can see ghosts," the boy remarked, ignoring Marinette's shock entirely. He spoke in English instead of French, luckily Marinette's class had been learning both languages, so she was able to understand.
Marinette nodded, her throat suddenly unable to get a word out.
"You can hear ghosts, too. Can you bring them back to life?"
Marinette shook her head, clearing her throat as she began to speak in English, "I've never tried, but I don't think so."
"Could you try? For me?" pleaded the boy, the desperation in his expression breaking Marinette's heart.
"I don't even know you," said Marinette, trying to find a way to gently let the boy down. Seeing ghosts was one thing; bringing them back to life was another thing entirely.
"I'm Jason Todd." Jason stuck out his hand and Marinette tentatively shook it.
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
It wasn't until Marinette pulled her hand back that she realized that his hand - and now her's - was covered in blood. With a shriek of surprise, Marinette stumbled backward away from Jason. "What did you do?"
"What did I do? What did you do?"
"This has never happened before. Somehow my touch turned you corporeal enough for the blood on your hand to transfer to mine."
Jason glanced down at his hands. "Your fingers left prints in the blood. I've spent hours trying to wash the blood away for months, and you managed to do it by accident."
Marinette stared at her hands, the realization sinking in. Jason Todd was dead and his blood was on her hands. In the blink of an eye, Marinette was running to the bathroom to throw up. She thought she would be able to handle looking at the injuries of the dead, but Jason's wounds suddenly felt personal. Someone beat him to death, beat him until his bones broke and his skull caved him. Marinette heaved into the toilet, unable to cope with the violence of Jason's death.
When Marinette finally lifted her head, she saw Jason lingering at the door, looking guilty. "I'm sorry. I know that this is pretty graphic to look at." Jason gestured towards himself.
Marinette shook her head. "You don't have to apologize." After rinsing her mouth out until the taste of vomit was gone, Marinette turned to Jason. "Come here."
Jason approached her at the sink. With the water still running, Marinette took his hands and held them underneath the water. They both watched as the water turned red, then pink, then ran clear as all of the blood washed off Jason's hands. "Thank you," Jason whispered.
Marinette took a deep breath. "I can't make any promises, but I will do my best to bring you back."
--
Bringing the ghost of a human boy back to life seemed like an impossible task, so Marinette started small: with Tikki the ghost cat. It took two weeks of experimentation before Marinette realized that with enough meditation she could funnel some of her energy into Tikki's ghost. With Jason to help her take notes, Marinette began to figure out the ins-and-outs of resurrection.
The most difficult part was figuring out exactly how much energy Marinette could expend before it took a toll on her physical health. The very first time she gave Tikki energy, Marinette woke up the next morning with bruises littering her body. Tom and Sabine took Marinette to the doctor's where she was diagnosed with anemia and prescribed iron supplements. Jason was so concerned about Marinette's well-being that he refused to let her give any more energy away before she had returned to her full health.
A few weeks after the initial mishap Marinette got back on track. Every morning she would push just a little bit of energy into Tikki. Little by little, Tikki turned from specter to physical being. Then, one morning, as Marinette pushed energy into Tikki, she felt her energy hit a wall. At the same time, Marinette felt Tikki's fur under her hand for the first time in ten years.
"You brought her back!" Jason exclaimed.
Marinette let out a whoop of joy, scaring Tikki, who jumped out of Marinette's lap with a startled meow. Marinette grabbed Tikki back up, able to properly hug her beloved pet for the first time in ten years. "I've got to go show Tikki to my parents. I'm going to tell them that I found her outside."
"You'll need to give her a new name," said Jason. "Might I suggest Alfred."
Tom and Sabine were surprised, which was to be expected. After all, it wasn't every day that their daughter found a doppelgänger of their dead cat in the alley behind the bakery. However, they were quick to rationalize the event, shrugging it off as a strange coincidence. Alfred became a beloved new member of the family.
After her success with Alfred neé Tikki, Marinette turned her attention to Jason. Their very first attempt took place in Marinette's bedroom. Marinette and Jason sat down cross-legged on the floor. Marinette placed her hands on top of Jason's and concentrated. She felt the life force within herself and pressed it forward, through her hands and into his.
"I can feel it," whispered Jason, "I've never felt anything like it before. It's so warm."
The awe in Jason's voice made Marinette feel warm inside as well. "I'm going to start with just a little bit of energy. I don't know how transferring energy to a human will differ from transferring energy to a cat, and I don't want to burn myself out on the very first transfer."
"Do this at whatever pace you need. I don't want you to hurt yourself."
Marinette smiled with his reassurance. She took a deep breath, and let the energy flow out of her. When she finally finished, cutting off the flow, she looked back up at Jason and gasped. Jason's broken finger, which had bothered him for weeks, had straightened out. The cut on his collarbone had closed shut. The bruise on his cheekbone had faded. His wounds were already starting to heal.
--
Quickly, Marinette and Jason fell into a routine. Every day after school they would sit down in the back corner of the bakery and Marinette (under the guise of doing her homework) would push more of her life energy into him. It was a slow process. Though Marinette often wished to give Jason just a little more energy every day, to speed up the process, she was constantly aware of the fact that Jason would fuss over her and stop the transfer of energy entirely if he saw any sign of pain or exhaustion on her.
In the months that Marinette had known Jason, he had grown protective over her. Marinette spent most of her time with Jason. He slept in her room on the little couch in the corner, followed her to school, and wore the clothes that she designed for her. Jason changing his clothes was an incredibly embarrassing affair, as the only way for him to be corporeal enough to touch the clothes was for Marinette to be touching him while he did it, leading to averted eyes and blushing on the part of both Marinette and Jason (but it was worth it for Marinette, to saw Jason's relieved smile when he realized that he never had to see the blood-stained clothes that he died in again).
In total, it took eight months from the day that Marinette met Jason to the day that Marinette brought Jason back to life. It started as an uneventful morning. Marinette woke up to her alarm, grumbling as she got ready about how it was inhumane to make teenagers wake up so early. She made herself a coffee while chatting to Jason. They walked to school together, Marinette dodging through the crowded sidewalk while Jason moved straight through people with ease. Marinette got to her desk at school and took a seat next to Alya. Luckily the seat behind Marinette was empty, so Jason sat there when he followed Marinette to school.
Marinette had asked Jason before if it bothered him that he was unable to participate with the rest of the class since they could neither see nor hear him. Jason claimed that he didn't mind. Despite that, if Jason ever whispered comments or questions about the lesson into Marinette's ear, she always made sure to ask the teacher, even if she already knew the answer.
Sitting in on lessons had the additional benefit of teaching Jason French. Marinette did her best to teach him the basics, but immersion was the best teacher - after eight months of hearing and speaking only French, Jason was fluent in the language. Marinette often praised him for his quick learning, which was how she learned that Jason was prone to blushing when he was complimented. Jason always grumbled when Marinette pointed it out, but Marinette found it adorable.
Once school was over on that fateful day, Marinette and Jason walked home together. Marinette set her backpack down at her usual table, sat down, and got to work. It had become an easy routine: put in her headphones and play some calming music, find a quiet place within her brain, and focus on the feeling of energy welling up inside of her. Then take Jason's hands, concentrate on that energy, and push it through her arms and into him. Controlling the direction of the energy was easy - it was controlling the rate that was the difficult part. It moved slowly at first, then all at once it flowed faster than Marinette can control, and it was a race to slow it down before it could all drain out of her.
That day, however, just as the energy started to speed up, the flow of energy abruptly cut off before Marinette even had the chance to react.
"Why did it stop?" asked Jason, looking confused.
The day had been so long coming that Marinette could hardly believe what had happened. "I have nothing left to give you. You're alive again, Jason."
Jason stared at her, wide-eyed. "Are you sure?"
"I'll go test it." Marinette jumped out of her seat and raced towards the front of the bakery, heading for Tom, who was behind the counter. "Papa, can I get a plate of macaroons for me and my friend?"
Tom glanced over at Jason. "Who is he? I don't think I've ever seen him here before."
"He's a foreign exchange student," Marinette lied easily. "His name is Jason."
"Here's a plate for you and Jason." Tom handed her a plate, piled high with macaroons and other sweets.
"I might take Jason and show him around Paris, once we finish our homework. Is that alright?"
"Sure, sweetheart. Just make sure you're home before dinner."
"Of course," chirped Marinette. She made her way back to her table with a bounce in her step. "My papa could see you. You're real."
In that moment, Jason looked lost. He glanced down at his hands, flesh and blood once more. "What do I do now?"
"You're alive again. You can do whatever you want."
Jason took a deep breath. "I've been gone from this world for so long. I want to go home."
Marinette tried not to let the fact that her heart was breaking show on her face. "I have enough birthday money saved up to buy you a plane ticket. You might have trouble getting on a plane without any identification, but I'm sure we can come up with a solution."
For a moment, Jason looked upset. Then, Marinette saw on his face as a realization dawned on him. "I didn't mean alone. Marinette, I want you to come with me."
--
There was no sugar-coating it: Marinette's parents were going to kill her. The plane was half-way across the Atlantic Ocean and Marinette's phone was turned off. There was no way to check, but she was certain that her parents were already sending her frantic texts. By the time the plane landed in Gotham, Tom and Sabine would surely have already called the police.
Marinette could only hope that her and Jason's fake IDs would hold up against the Gotham Airport security officers. While seventeen-year-old Jason could easily pass for nineteen, the age listed on the fake ID for Jasper Townsend, Marinette was worried that she looked young enough to cause suspicion. The age on Marie Davis's ID needed to be eighteen in order to get Marinette onto the plane, so whether she liked it or not she had to look eighteen. Resigned to her lies, Marinette put on a heavy face of makeup and wore three-inch heels on the international flight. It was a little funny, in an ironic way, that her heels had one inch for each year she needed to make up for.
Marinette was still confused about how Jason managed to get them fake IDs in the first place. Jason just shrugged and said that he knew a guy who owed him a favor. It was a side of Jason that Marinette hadn't ever seen before, a side of him that she was deeply curious about.
They had gotten on the plane just as the sun was setting. Marinette had sent her parents one last text message, telling them that she might be a little late. It was the understatement of the century. Marinette had never lied to her parents like that before. All of her past lies had been little things - lying about the number of macaroons she ate, or how late she stayed up the night before - but never a lie about her personal safety. The guilt was killing Marinette. It made her feel sick to her stomach.
Jason placed his hand (flesh and blood) on Marinette's shoulder. "I'm sorry that I'm making you do this."
"I'm not sorry. I would never make you do it alone."
Marinette could practically feel the nervous energy radiating off of Jason as their plane landed in Gotham. "I'm assuming you know where we're going next. Should we rent a car?" she asked once they cleared security (miraculously, no one looked too closely at Marinette's feeble attempt at a disguise. Marinette was glad to switch out her heels for flats and wash off the makeup in the airport bathroom).
Jason shook his head. "We don't need to rent one. He always keeps a car at the airport just in case someone's flying in."
Marinette wasn't sure who he was supposed to be, but Jason had been reticent to share any information about his past, and Marinette wasn't going to pressure him. Jason had been beaten to death, after all. There was a lot of trauma in his past and Marinette wasn't going to force him to share it with her until he was ready.
Jason led her through to the VIP parking lot to a luxury black sedan. He reached underneath the car, feeling at the underside until he pulled out a key. "Bruce keeps a key taped to the underside."
"That seems... irresponsible." Marinette was delicate with her words. Jason had been tense since the plane landed, like a loaded gun. She didn't want to bring up anything that might set him off.
"He also has a tracker planted in the car," Jason remarked offhandedly.
Marinette rolled her eyes at that remark, unable to keep walking on eggshells around the topic of Jason's family. "Irresponsible and paranoid. That's an interesting combination."
Jason laughed. "Just wait until you meet Bruce in person. I promise you, none of what I could tell you about him would ever live up to the real deal."
They got into the car, Jason in the driver's seat and Marinette in the passenger's. Jason's driving was a little rusty at first (which was understandable, given that he hadn't driven in nearly a year), but by the time he got on the highway, it was like he never left the driver's seat.
"Do you think that your family will believe you when you tell them that I brought you back to life?" asked Marinette, her voice quiet. The closer she and Jason got to Jason's house, the more questions Marinette had. It had taken her weeks to rationalize the fact that she could see ghosts, and she was the one seeing them. She couldn't imagine how Jason's family would react.
"Bruce was the one who found my body. There wasn't any faking that. I think he'll believe you."
"We've never talked about what happened to you. I- Is it safe for you to go home?"
Jason nodded, eyes on the road as he pulled off the highway onto a winding road. "Bruce did everything he could to save me, but he was too late. I was there for the funeral. I watched him mourn. I think... I think the reason I never passed on was because he never got over my death, never stopped feeling guilty. I wanted to pass on. I wanted to tell Bruce that I didn't blame him. I went and found you so that you could pass on the message for me. But then, when you could touch me, when you took the time to wash the blood off of my hands, I realized that I might be able to tell Bruce myself. I realized that I could have a second chance. I realized how badly I wanted a second chance, because a second chance at life meant that I had a chance with you."
Marinette blushed, looking over at Jason. "You know that doesn't matter to me. I wouldn't care if you were dead or alive."
With a snort of amusement, Jason said, "You might want to rephrase that."
Marinette rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean. I liked you before you were corporeal. Human or ghost, you're my friend, Jason, and that's never going to change."
"I know that, but I like being alive better. I like being able to hold your hand for real."
Before Marinette could say anything in reply, the car turned. Marinette was too shocked to speak when she saw the size of the house at the end of the driveway. "Welcome to Wayne Manor, Marinette."
Marinette got out of the car first, smoothing down the fabric of her skirt and running her fingers through her hair. She hoped that she looked presentable, even if no one would be looking at her once they saw the resurrected Jason. "Are you coming?"
Jason nodded, taking a deep, steadying breath. "Yeah. I'm ready." Jason got out of the car and slipped his hand (flesh and blood) into Marinette's, and even though questions and doubts were swirling through Marinette's head in a whirlwind of anxiety, she knew that as long as she could hold Jason's hand, everything would be okay.

Last Time
For Maribat March day 5 theme last time
Master List
Another akuma.
Another person she had to save.
Another time she had to face Chat Noir and his god-awful flirting.
Another night of almost no rest.
Another day of lying to her neglectful parents.
She hated it. She hated it all. The akumas, the flirting, the sleepless nights, the punishments from people who barely gave her the time of day. She hated her life. So it was of no surprise to herself when she snapped. However, Chat Noir was surprised and so was Paris.
It was like any other akuma battle. She defeated the akuma while Chat sat back and watched, only stepping in to complain or flirt. Chat tried to come up and force his feelings onto her even though she didn’t feel the same. But something about this was different. It was like something in her snapped.
She sure as hell didn’t want this to be her life, not anymore. But why wasn’t she doing anything? Why wasn’t she standing up for herself? She was Ladybug and the Guardian of the miraculous god dammit! She could do something about her situation.
The decision she made was on impulse but she didn’t regret it. The alley cat was too busy ranting about how made for each other they were that he didn’t notice her until it was too late.
She grabbed his wrist and plucked the ring off him. Several emotions passed through his face, shock, hurt, anger, sadness, but she didn’t care about them. Because of course, the person behind the mask was the one helping her suffering in her civilian life. Adrien fucking Agreste!
She ignored his cries for her to give his miraculous back, or for her to reveal herself to him, it was “only fair”, instead going straight back home. She grabbed the miraculous box, transformed with Kaalki once her ladybug transformation dropped, portaled to a field outside the city, and cried. For a good hour she just cried. Sad tears that it was Adrien under the mask, and happy tears that it was the last time she would have to deal with Chat.
Once her tears had subsided she released all the kwami and asked the question that had been plaguing her mind.
“What do I do now?”
-
When the next akuma attack happened, everyone expected Ladybug and Chat Noir to appear. But that’s not what happened. Instead new heroes appeared beside Ladybug including a new cat. It took 30 minutes for the new team to defeat the akuma. When with Chat Noir it took hours.
The new team disappeared as quickly as they came, but an hour later an interview was posted. The lucky interviewer being Aurore Beaureal, creator of ByeByeButterfly.com.
It was there that the new team was introduced. There were new horse, snake, turtle, bee, fox, and cat holders that were permanent. Midnight, Murder Hornet, Red Illusion, Peridot Protector, Medusa, and Mustang were here to stay. No one could change Ladybug’s mind.
At first, the public was mad. Where were their old heroes? But no one could complain 6 months later when Gabriel Agreste and Natalie Sancour were being arrested for terrorizing Paris as Hawkmoth and Mayura.
People cried. People screamed. For the first time in years the people of Paris safely let their emotions out. It was a happy day for everyone, her team included even though she had to take back their miraculouses, so why wasn’t she happy.
That was the start of her rant accounts. When she needed to rant she chose one of her apps and ranted. Simple as that, especially since it was anonymous. She ranted about everything from school, a blond creep who wouldn't leave her alone, and her neglectful parents.
Turns out there are people on the internet who can be very wise. Especially this one account, Death Can’t Stop Me!, she wondered if it was inspired by Twice. Sure, their relationship started out rocky since the first thing he messaged her was basically offering to beat up Adrien, no that he knew that, up. But once they moved past that he ended up giving her the best advice, which was to get emancipated, change her name, and move schools. He even volunteered his last name.
So at 17 years old Marinette Dupain-Cheng became Margot Todd and now attended Willow Academy. She ended up crashing at Chloe’s until she could find a place for herself which was a small apartment near her school.
Not only that but once she graduated and turned 18 she moved to New York under an internship with the famous Style Queen, Audrey Bourgeois.
Which has led her here, standing in the middle of a park near her apartment waiting for one Jason Todd to show up. What if he was some creepy 50 year old dude and not the nice 21 year old guy she had been talking to. What if it was a group planning to kidnap her behind the account? Out of all her ideas this was the absolute worst.
“Marinette!” Plagg whisper-shouted from inside her coat.
“What is it Plagg?” Marinette questioned, trying to appear casual and not like she was talking to herself.
“Stop trying to look normal, you just end up looking more crazy. Also to your left, I think that’s him.” Marinette immediately turned to her left where she locked eyes with a giant. There was no other way to describe him, he was a giant.
Like what genes did he have to be that massive? And he was coming towards her. Yep, worst idea ever.
“Margot right?” He asked.
“Yeah, Jason right?” She clarified, while on the inside she was screaming at herself.
“Yep, man you are so much smaller in person. Like a little pixie.” He commented.
“Says you sasquatch! What are you, 7ft!”
“Nope, 6’1.”
“Oh my god.”
And thus blossomed the start of a beautiful friendship. Where half the time the little pixie was either beating up or berating the sasquatch.
Bonus -
“Yo Jay!”
“Yeah!”
“We should start a tik tok account!”
“We already have our own though!”
“Yeah but like a shared one!”
“WHY?”
“THINK OF THE CHAOS! LIKE IMAGINE OF YOUR FAMILY FOUND OUT!”
“...Ok I’m sold!”
“YAY!”

This is the prequel/part 2 to yesterday’s prompt, Internet Friends. I try and I try to have an update schedule for this. I tell myself don’t post so late. But life just loves to tell me I can never win. I started writing and then I got lazy, so sorry for the terrible post. I promised you guys I would have something and this is what I produced and I’m so sorry for my laziness. Tomorrow’s post will be better.

Maribat promt, MariDamiJon where they new each other beaver the leave and the oder were kinda friends but they were rivals. So they met again when mari moves and goes to Gotham academy. And there like oh your alive cool beans.but inside there like "thank God yeah"because they was a tension(as much tension there can be with 10 year olds.)So now they are both aggressively trying to seduce jon who in the middle of this is trying to figure out who likes who and which one he likes (its both)
Yeah so, this is a bit long. It took me a long time to write this so sorry, anon.
Chapter 1/3
The moment the caped community hears about the new protégé that Wonder Woman took under her wing, everyone holds their breath. The moment Ladybug is introduced, tiny and too serious for her age, money exchanges hands.
And when she meets both Superboy and Robin, the whispers start.
Apparently, the League has some needs for new blood and everyone – and by everyone, she means heroes and villains alike – is calling them the Tiny Trinity.
“Maybe if you aren’t that lacking in height, they wouldn’t have called us that,” she drawls while Robin stalks the hallway of the Watchtower and Superboy is floating along while their mentors are busy with a meeting.
“Silence,” Robin hisses like a ruffled cat, “Everything was fine before you forcefully inserted yourself between us.”
Robin is around her age, right? He is only shorter than her so throwing hands with him is fine.
“You know what you should have done?” she huffs, chin titled up, arms crossed in front of her chest and planting herself against the door, “Go and cry to daddy Bat about how having a chaperone ruins your play dates with Superboy.”
“They aren’t play dates!” and “Who is the chaperone?!” overlap and Ladybug sighs.
-
Ladybug disappears one day. There is almost no trace, nothing to suggest that she ever exists. Nothing aside from the reports.
“She has personal matters to resolve,” is what Wonder Woman tells the League.
And as suddenly as she disappeared, she appears in Paris alongside with a boy in a cat suit. There are whispers of magical jewels and butterflies but no one can make head or tail of it.
And then, the whole caped community is banned from Paris.
-
Gotham is… soothing. Which is a word she never thought she would use to describe this city.
After everything with Hawk Moth, Gotham looks almost like a break. If a break comes with high chances of a) being held hostage at gun point, b) being cornered in an alley or c) kidnapped.
-
The first time she runs into one of Gotham’s vigilantes, Two Face has a gun and a coin and every visitor at Gotham Museum is being held hostage. The big bad boss is making acquaintance with the G.C.P.D and Marinette is busying huddling in a corner while the henchmen stand over their hostages.
“We have to do something,” Tikki hisses into her ear, tucked inside her hoodie and curls up into the back of her neck, “If this holds up any longer, you’d be late to your interview.”
“I doubt there is going to be an interview,” she whispers, keeping a wary eye on the trigger-happy henchmen, “Seeing as, you know, the people doing the interviewing are stuck in this mess too.”
There is supposed to be an exhibition next weekend at this very place and they are posting announcements and looking for volunteers. It is not like it is paid work but there would be a certificate of participation.
You know, just brownie points for college.
“Besides,” she starts, glancing toward Two Face as he starts his own monologue, “Ladybug has no business in this city.”
It is well-known that Gotham is under the Bats and Birds’ jurisdiction. No one in the caped community would stray inside its borders while wearing a mask.
It is a rule that has been kept and maintained for years.
“Let’s just sit tight and wait for rescue,” she says, leaning back against the wall.
And it should have ended there. Everything would have been fine and everyone would continue on their merry ways.
Except, Two Face turns to them with a manic grin.
“And as a little motivation for our friends,” the man leers toward the camera that one of his own henchmen set up a while ago, “One of these hostages will have the honor of being handpicked as the bargain chip.”
And just her luck because he is look at her.
Two henchmen haul her to her feet and she sighs, shagging in their hold as they drag her forward.
There is a black collar. One that she is familiar with from the olden days of listening in on League’s reports while Diana walked her through the mechanics of things.
“This thing here is an inhibitor collar,” Two Face grins, unlatching it with a click, “Of course, these babies are used on metahumans but I, for one, love the addition benefits.”
She has to fight to keep the frown off her face when the collar settles around her neck and clicks shut.
Two Face holds up a switch and there are two buttons and she really does not want to know what they are for. Fortunately, or not, Two Face continues, never mind about anyone’s comfort.
“Every five minute that my demands are not met, I am going to press one of these buttons,” he says, almost conversationally, “What happens is either a little bit of electric or a bomb and this little girl goes boom.”
“So you just go through a hostage every five minutes,” she piques up, glancing back at her fellow hostages, “How long do you think we would last you?”
There are around forty or fifty people gathered in the room, either huddling together or trying to melt into the wall.
“In the worst case, you would only have around four to five hours before you run out of hostages,” she explains, “After that, what will stop the G.C.P.D from storming the place?”
Two Face smirks, all white teeth and something like a threat in the curl of his lips.
“You are quite new here, aren’t you?” the gun settles under her chin, the metal cold against her skin, “Good old Gordon is a bleeding heart and he knows that I am not joking.”
She has to tamper down the urge to scowl when he leans closer with a leer.
“You better pray for good luck, little girl. Heads or tails; either you die or you don’t.”
With that merry words, the countdown starts.
And at the fourth minute since the countdown starts, there is suddenly a smoke bomb. Then, there is a whisper of bullet and a dart stabs into Two Face’s neck.
“You-“ the man sways on his feet, face murderous, the hand with the remote trembling.
She takes that chance and kicks, watching with relief as the remote flies out from his grip. The accompanying groan is just a bonus that she takes pleasure in hearing.
The comfort soon fades when she sways on her feet.
Oh… Smoke bomb… Probably something with paralyzing effects.
The ground rushes toward her and there is suddenly a black and blue blur at the edge of her vision.
-
It is kind of surprising that there is no little bird after her after the museum incident.
That is almost considerate of them, if she had not known better. Well, she does know better so the thought is dismissed with a shake of her head.
After all, the daddy Bat did teach his birds to only ever going in with concrete evidences.
“You did grow up, Marinette,” Tikki says, nestles in the little nest of clothes that she made for her, “They probably did not recognize you.”
-
The second time she runs into one of the birds, it is a coincidence. And the one she runs into does not really consider himself a bird anymore.
She is not looking for trouble. No, sire, no trouble-looking at all.
Except, trouble finds her when a band of thugs corner her in an alley.
“Come on, pretty girl,” one of the fuckers leers, slamming his fist into the wall by her head, “Just a little private time, you, me and the guys.”
She can feel Tikki’s touch through the fabric of the hoodie’s pocket.
“How about you let me through and we pretend this never happens?” she smiles, shoulders relaxing and placing her hands on the wall, “No harm, no foul, right?”
The thugs wilt and by then, she knows that they have seen it” the Red Hood insignia that is pinned into the hoodie, just directly above her heart.
“You aren’t one of his girls,” the one whose fist is still a little bit too close to her head for comfort, and apparently the one who does not possess any gray matter, speaks, “Your accent isn’t Crime Alley’s.”
Well, so maybe he does have a bit of a brain.
Luckily, she does not need to say anything because a gun goes off somewhere just above them. And then, one of the thugs hits the ground, whimpering as he cradles his shattered kneecap.
And Marinette slinks past the trembling thugs as Red Hood lands in the alley.
She kind of want to feel guilty but she cannot find it in her to care.
The fuckers had it coming. Whatever Red Hood does to them is just karma.
-
“You need to be more careful,” Tikki frets, floating in a circle as Marinette collapses on her bed, “It could have ended up worse, Marinette.”
“Yet it didn’t,” she murmurs, “Everything’s fine so let it go, Tikki.”
“Wha-!” Tikki sputters somewhere above her prone form, “Marinette, you can’t just rely on your luck forever!”
She reaches for a pillow and buries her face into it and let Tikki’s words floods over her.
“For the sake of everything good and holy! Marinette, take better care of yourself!”
She really is tired.
-
The first time is happenstance, twice is coincidence and thrice? Well, then there is no coincidence, is there?
After all, there is no such thing as an accident when masked men stormed into the café that she usually visits after work. Yeah, the one just on the edge of Crime Alley.
They have guns. There are other customers crouching under the tables and the staffs are hiding behind the counter.
“We are looking for a friend of ours,” the man who seems to be the leader says, hefting his gun and finger slipping dangerously close to the trigger, “Ms. Dupain-Cheng, would you mind coming out for a chat?’
Yeah no. And it is not like they know how she looks like, is it?
“Tick tock, Ms. Dupain-Cheng,” the man clicks his tongue, “Come out by yourself or I will have my men drag you out. And believe me, you will not like that.”
Ok, now that sounds threatening.
“Tikki,” she whispers, “What should I do?”
“I don’t know,” Tikki murmurs into her ear, hidden in the crook of her neck, out of anyone’s sight, “I really don’t know.”
Except, the choice is suddenly torn away from her grasps when the window shatters and a familiar blur of red, green and yellow rushes in.
Fuck, says her brain as she watches Robin disarms her would-be kidnappers and resolves the situation in less than five minutes.
The Boy Wonder turns to her direction the moment he finishes tying the last of her would-be assailants.
Well, out of the frying pan and into the fire then.
-
Gotham Academy falls into a hush when Damian Wayne shoulders his way through the crowded hallway. And Marinette is in the direction he is heading toward.
“Yeah so,” she grabs her books and slams her locker close, a bit too forceful but who cares anyway when Wayne – no, Robin – is heading her way with murder in his eyes, “I think I should go…”
Maps – sweet, dear and an absolute devil – bounces on the ball of her heels and clings onto her.
“Wait,” the girl squeals excitedly, “You two know each other?!”
Well…
“Come on, introduce us!” Maps whines, eyes already glimmering with whatever schemes she is cooking up, “He’s going to make a fine addition to our team!”
Marinette does not even have the time to get a word in before Wayne is looming over them. And by looming, she means the Boy fukcing Wonder is now taller than her.
This is so unacceptable! She is so going to riot if Jon is taller than her too!
“So this is where you disappeared to,” Wayne says in lieu of a greeting – as rude as ever, then. “I did not think you would have the guts to show your face in front of me, Dupain-Cheng.”

Runaway Assassin AU
Okay so this is just a concept and ANYONE is free to use this, just please credit me and link me so I may enjoy your talent! I’ve seen Maribat fics where Mari leaves Paris of her own volition with the support of family, I’ve seen fics where Damien is stationed in Paris for the Titans or just for Batfam, I’ve seen fics where Mari needs to escape because of a corrupted Chat Noir. But I’ve not yet seen a fic where Damien runs away. I admit, I know more about Dick/Tim due to the animated series from the 90s/00s, than I do about Jason or Damien, but from what I’ve seen of the animated films, Damien has a very hard time being integrated into Bruce’s life and both side attempting at gaining an understanding of the other. This was mostly inspired by this clip, and my heart aches for this pompous little asshole because he’s ten and raised by assassins and he is/can be good but Bruce-and by extension Dick- can’t see it past Damien’s natural shield. And all I can think of is Damien, either 10/11 and just feeling irritated because he’s constantly on edge with his ‘family’. Even if he always proudly claims he’s the heir, the blood son, he can tell from interactions around himself that it holds little weight in his argument. He can see it in the way Dick and Bruce act, how Tim and Bruce act, and even Alfred and Bruce. All are strong, familial bonds between father and son, and yet he cannot sense he forms one with his own father. Well then, what use does he have for remaining there? His mother is gone, his father isn’t exactly warm and welcoming, and his ‘brothers’ know him as hostile and the Demon’s Heir. The only bounds he forms are with animals, so why bother remaining? So he leaves. Possibly with Titus, possibly with Alfred the Cat, but he leaves. He is the grandson of Ra’s Al Ghul, he can survive out in the world. He is not so weak as to require anyone to care for him. Except he does. Who knows what happens, but soon Damien is ragged but stubborn, refusing to be weak and focusing on protecting himself and his dog and or his cat from the dangers around. Perhaps Master Fu finds him, recognizes his potential, and takes him under his wing, unmoved when emotions fly heavy from the child and helping Damien to calm himself. Perhaps Marianne finds him, takes a fiery child that reminds her of a friend she and Fu once had, helping the boy to center his anger through activities, ensuring he grows and becomes more than just those titles people gave him, he doesn’t need to be given titles, he will make and take his own. Or perhaps Tom finds them during a distant delivery, when Damien passes out in the rain in some alley way with only his animal(s) to guard him; of course, the big man helps the poor child off of the street-even going against their policy against of no pets because come on, they guarded their owner!-before taking him back to the bakery. Of course, all three help Damien from his wounds, ignoring his growls and orders to go away, though he’s too weak to truly fight them off, and they soon have him sleeping in a small guest room that was usually the office to calculate their expenses. Maybe Marinette’s Ladybug already, maybe not, but she is 14 so she’s not too much older than him. In any case, I think it would be a unique concept to have Damien be the one to run away from his familial environment and arrive in Paris(or London if we go with Marianne) to find his own version of family.

Just Another Class Trip :) Part 4
Marinette has a nice peaceful night, besides from having to outrun Batman, but come on thats just normal field trip stuff, and after that absolutely nothing remarkable happens.
First< Previous >Next
-------------
“It wasn't just me right?” Marinette asks her Kwamis, “Aunt Selina was acting really strange,”
“She dragged you through secret tunnels in one of the most prevalent companies in the world,” Kaalki deadpans, as she hangs something up in the wardrobe, “Everything was strange,”
“Yeah, I’m not really one to judge,” Marinette says, to the god that can fit in her pocket, “Done,”
She straightens out the portable house she had made for Tikki and Kaalki. It was made out of fabric with just a few pieces of cardboard for better support. It had bedrooms, living rooms, even a little kitchen. It was quite like the ‘doll house’ she has for them back home. She had made a replica of that one for Tikki to bring into the miracle box as a gift for the other Kwamis.
“Oh the others would love this!” Tikki squeaks, flying around inside, Marinette can see her through the little cut out windows.
“Well I can’t hold all of you,” Marinette laughs, falling back on her bed, “I guess I should get some sleep,”
“You aren’t going out for patrol?”
“I thought that was a one time thing?”
“But you had so much fun,” Tikki looks at her with thos big round eyes, “You should go again Marinette,”
“You know Tikki I was actually about to make a responsible decision and go to bed early,” Marinette sighs, getting back up, “But you ruined it,”
“It’s midnight and we both know that you would just keep designing dresses,” Kaalki pushes away one of the many wads of paper littering her bed and room.
“Touche,” Marinette pulls over her mask, “What about the miracle box?”
“It’s your choice Marinette,” Tikki assures, her smile telling Marinette there would be no hard feelings either way.
“Well it was safe last night, Hawk Moth isn't around to try and steal it,” She puts on her cape, “And it would be pretty bad if it got damaged during a fight,”
“So you’ve made your choice?”
“Yeah,”
Starling finishes zip tying the crooks hands when she feels eyes fall to her. She doesn't directly look around, instead stretching and yawning to survey her surroundings. Above. A flash of color, yellow, Robin.
Instead of going back up to the roof as planned she turns and walks out the alley into the street. The victim of the mugging is there waiting and she smiles brightly, letting them relax. When the police arrive she slips away, having no illusions of Robin, or whoever else is watching, actually losing sight of her.
Obviously they wanted her alone for whatever reason. That just means she has to stick to populated areas. Luckily she is in a seedier part of town but not enough that people are too cautious of roaming the streets. There's a few drunk people around, she’d have to find denser crowds if she wants to give them the slip.
She sees an older woman struggling with her bags, full of fresh produce.
“Hello,” She steps out of the shadows, “Would you-whoa!”
She backs up from the gun that is pointed right at her head.
“Tell your boss to fuck off,” The woman scowls
“Sorry, but I don’t have a boss, Milady,” She smiles kindly, “But I can leave if you want, just thought I’d offer to help with the bags,”
“You a bat?” She raises and eyebrow looking over Starling.
“No Milady,” She can dodge a bullet right?
“Good guy?” The gun inches closer.
“Good enough to not get shot, I hope,” Starling smiles a crooked grin.
“Eh, you would have tried to disarm me if you were a threat,” She puts the gun into her cardigan pocket decorated with embroidered cats.
“Try?” Starling picks up the dropped bags.
“And fail,” She nods, taking the bags from her.
“I’m starting to think I need your help more than you need mine,” Starling chuckles, rubbing her neck.
“Well you can still carry all of this,” She passes the bags back.
“Is there a market at this hour or something?” Starling asks, following after her leaving enough distance.
“Well you see dear late at night is actually when it’s safest,”
“Oh I see,” Starling nods along, scanning the rooftops, “Bats,”
“And you can sell nasty looking fruit in bad lighting,” The older woman cracks a grin, Starling mirroring her.
“I guess that's true,”
“Plus also works as a front for drugs,” Starling chokes out a laugh.
“And you would know,”
“Of course, your now an accessory to crime my dear,” There's a sparkle in her eye and Starling can’t help but laugh.
“I never seem to be able to stay out of trouble,” Starling sighs dramatically, sagging to the side.
“That's because you wander Gotham's streets in a costume my dear,” She says kindly, then turns a shrewd eye to her, “Just who are you?”
“Starling, nice to meet your acquaintance,” Starling bows, easily managing even with the bags.
“You’re not from around here are you dear?” The lady raises her brow.
“Am I that obvious,” Starling chuckles, a skip in her step.
“Cheerfulness is a dead give away,” Starling nods along to the advice? “You’re either from out of town or crazy,”
“I’ll pick out of town then,” Starling tilts her head to the side, “Tho I can’t guarantee the second one,”
“Batman is not hospitable to rouges my dear,” She ignores Starlings hopefully-a-joke.
“No kidding,” Starling mutters, glancing back up to the rooftops, she was definitely still being watched.
“... Well if you wanted to help more old ladies with their groceries tonight just head back the way we came go straight and take the first right,” She stops in front of a door holding her hand out to take the bags back.
“Thank you,” Starling smiles, giving another bow, “I think I will,”
“Stay out of trouble my dear,” The woman calls as Starling heads down the street.
“Sorry!” Starling calls over her shoulder, “I’m a really bad listener! Have a good night!”
She sees the older lady shake her head before disappearing into the building. Taking her advice Starling walks towards the markets. Those watching don’t approach her on the way to the market. Either they don’t know she’s aware of them or are confident enough that they can keep track of her. She’ll have to check for bugs regardless.
She reaches the market, weaving in between people. She waits for the perfect moment where she's sure she’ll be in a blind spot. The people milling around watch her curiously and cautiously, a high chance she's a villain a higher chance she's a vigilante. This unfortunately means people give her some personal space, not ideal for hiding.
It’s when a group of tall built men walk past her she sees her opportunity. She darts behind them, none backing off from her, a brief glance or two then just ignore her, part of some gang or rather. In a fluid motion Marinette pulls off her cape and scarf with one hand, flipping the skirt inside out to hide the distinct patterning. With her other hand she brings her bun down into a ponytail, being able to just pull it out.
She must of lost them for a second so she quickly but discreetly leaves the spot, not letting them connect her build to Starling. Now that she's out of costume she is able to hide in crowds. She dips behind some people pulling on her skirt quickly and zipping it up, she then unzips the hood to make it look like a pattern against her skirt. With the scarf in place around her neck turned to the pink side and a pair of glasses, she is sure she looks to the world like a different person.
The next hurtle are the bugs. They probably can’t track her in the market if she stays close to others. There's one on her skirt, shoe, elbow, and belt. She drops them off in any crates that are full of white powder that is certainly not flower. Might as well send them after something useful.
When she’s sure that she’s untraceable she heads back to the hotel a spring in her step. She does indeed run into someone on her way home that needs help with some groceries. If Marinette does indeed notice something suspicious in their bag no one needs to see her slip in the number of some people that can help out.
“Tikki! That was so great!” “My costume worked perfectly! They didn’t even see it coming!”
“Great job Marinette!” Tikki cheers, flying out of her pockets as they enter her room.
“I wonder what they wanted,” Kaalki asks, as she settles on the bed.
“They were probably going to be like,” Marinette brings her fingers up to make 'bat ears', “Get out of the city Starling' or 'don't stand on that gargoyle its my brooding gargoyle,”
“Probably shouldn’t have wrote ‘Starling was here’ on it,” Tikki sighs, more of a piece of advice than a lecture.
“Well I wanted to write ‘dibs’ on it, sooo,” Marinette falls back on her bed, lowering her voice so Adrien sleeping next door wont wake up.
“At least you’re having fun,” Tikki giggles.
“I did, but I need a sleep in,”  Marinette snuggles further into the bed.
Tikki flys off over the edge of the bed. Probably to get her little sleeping bag or something.
“Marinette!”
"What?!" She darts to Tikki's side, to see an empty backpack. An empty backpack where the Miracle box should be.
“Where's the Miracle box!”
Fuck

Secret Santa Piece
Merry Christmas Nieri! @myblacknightworld I was your ss for @maribat-secret-santa-2020
Hope you enjoy this! (Also I had more planned out so I’m thinking of making a part 2, lmk if you’d like me to Nieri)
All monsters were evil and terrible creatures that needed to be brought down. That’s what Damian was taught since birth. He learned how to trap monsters and kill them with his mother, but killing was quickly replaced with simply capturing once he went to live with his father.
Track, trap, capture, repeat. The same old song and dance every time. Thankless work really, especially because his identity as a Junior Hunter was a secret, but he was helping the human race by locking up these monsters. That was enough for him at the moment.
Damian had hoped to graduate from his ‘junior’ title sooner rather than later though. It was so agitating to be lumped in with amateurs, sheep, who did nothing but follow him blindly.
He should’ve been just a Hunter from the moment he came to live with his father, but according to his siblings, everyone had to go through this ‘junior’ nonsense.
He had been a Junior hunter for six years though. Something had to change. He was good enough, he knew he was. So why wasn’t he getting the title he deserved?
Father never listened to him, always telling him to “be patient” or “ask your brothers and sisters, they had to do the same.”
There was something his father had to be hiding. A secret way to become a Hunter and ditch his junior rank.
He knew that in order to move himself up he’d have to do something mind-blowing, something that was unquestionably beyond the level of a novice to perform.
Luckily, he had the perfect plan.
Capture the elusive Ladybug Witch.

As per the usual, Marinette was running late. She had stayed up late last night trying to concoct the perfect brew for Rose, who had gotten a cold just before a Kitty Section concert. It wasn’t easy, Marinette usually based her potions off of currently existing medicine, but there were very few medicines effective against the common cold. She spent hours paging through her spell book, consulting her old master’s spell book and even bothering her familiar in the middle of the night (though Adrien claimed he was happy to help).
After an exhausting, sleepless night, she managed to do it. It took a lot out of her, but when she finally trudged herself to school she smiled. The look on Rose’s face was worth it.
Rose had been so excited she almost transformed into her siren form, which could’ve been disastrous. Rose’s songs in her mythical form were just as loud as her usual voice. Humans would probably be attracted to the school and that wouldn’t do at all.
Their school, strictly for mythical creatures to have a safe and happy education, was barely known to the outside world. Most mythics lived in Paris or somewhere near, it was a safe haven free from hunters. But of course, nobody could stop humans from living in Paris, and in order to keep Paris the safe haven it boasted to be; mythic-only places had to be secret.
Marinette knew that her reputation as a witch spread across the globe, people calling her the “Lucky Witch,” “Ladybug Witch,” or some other variation. She had her identity sealed off by powerful magic; one would have to be extremely talented or well-connected to get past it. Still, if even one person found out: game over. Marinette lived to help people, ever since she was a child all she wanted was to help others, but she couldn’t do that if the self-proclaimed “monster hunters” killed or captured her.
She genuinely wanted to believe that everyone had a good side, but she refused to risk the fates of others on gut feelings.
Sighing, Marinette felt herself enter into a tired daze. She hadn’t even realized that she fell asleep until she felt Alya poke her on the head.
“You okay, girl?”
Opening her eyes slowly, Marinette nodded. She straightened herself out, “Yeah, I’m fine—hey where did everyone go?”
Alya giggled, “School is over, Marinette. You slept through everything!”
“WHAT?!” Marinette shot herself up, glancing up at the clock in the class that did in fact say: classes were over. Marinette slumped back down into her seat and banged her head on the desk. She let out a long groan.
“C’mon,” Alya said, helping Marinette up, “You better get home, and maybe go to bed early tonight! Or else this will just happen again…”
“I will, I will.” Marinette huffed, “Believe it not—I’m still tired.” As if on cue, she yawned.
“Get home safe, okay?” Alya said, patting her friend’s head, “Call me if you need anything.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Marinette said, slowly trudging out of class as Alya walked away.
Marinette found herself walking down her street in just the blink of an eye. She yawned slightly and began to stretch. She saw a flash of white in her vision. She stopped mid-stretch. “Huh?”
A small white cat waltzed up to her, limping. Marinette noticed it’s broken leg right away. “You okay there little guy?”
She reached down to pet it and soothed it, “It’s okay.” The cat purred. Marinette dropped to her knees. She quickly surveyed the area making sure no one was around.
The street seemed deserted save for herself and the cat. She pulled her backpack off and unzipped it. Inside was a large book, her spell book. She slowly lifted it out, trying not to make any sudden movements and scare the cat.
Flipping open to the page she needed, she placed a palm on the cat’s bad leg. She muttered a short incantation. The leg was soon swarmed by a pink glow and little ladybugs.
The cat mewled with happiness, giving Marinette a nudge of gratitude before scampering off.
Marinette picked herself off, about to go home when she suddenly heard a yowling followed by a human hiss.
She tilted her head to the side and slowly crept out to see the commotion.
The cat she had just saved had scratched a boy. A boy who was staring at her like a deer caught in headlights.

Damian hadn’t meant to lose sight of the mission so quickly. He was looking for the Ladybug Witch in Paris, or, Marinette Dupain-Chang. It wasn’t that hard to figure out her identity. He was able to break her silly seal on her identity by contacting his exorcist acquaintance: Jon Kent.
Jon gave him some kind of anti-magic charm which Damian used to break the seal. All kinds of magic nonsense that Damian didn’t care to understand.
But even dealing with magic and Jon had been worth it when the name “Marinette” became clear. Damian rushed over to Paris right when he found out; totally not stealing his father’s jet (oh well—his father wouldn’t care when he brought him the Ladybug Witch).
He had stationed himself right next to the witch’s school, just far enough away to be inconspicuous, but still spot her.
Damian watched as several abominations left the school, he could tell they were monsters immediately: just having that evil aura about them.
But they weren’t the mission. Giving his father intel about a whole school for monsters would surely help him move ranks, but it wouldn’t grant him the instantaneous promotion he so desired.
He waited for the witch, seeing no one who looked like her exit the school. Soon, only one person was trickling out of the school: not his target.
Damian huffed, putting down his binoculars. Suddenly he heard a rustling towards him: it wasn’t the evil witch rather the opposite.
A good cat.
Damian hid a smile, slowly extending his hand to pet it. The cat shrieked and ran away, though, with a limp.
Damian slowly began to follow it, an injured cat wouldn’t do on his watch. If he could just get a little bit closer…
He didn’t want to scare the cat, but he didn’t want it to scamper off before he could help it.
Damian let out a low sigh, deciding to stop near an alley he saw it walk past. He figured maybe if he laid low and hid for a second, the cat might circle back.
He sat still in the greenery, waiting for the cat to come. After a while he heard some faint voice say something intelligible. He peeked through a corner to see the cat, and some girl. Some girl performing magic…
Damian resisted the urge to gasp: it was the Ladybug Witch. He observed the situation, feeling direly like he should go in and stop what was happening. The witch seemed to be chanting a spell on the poor cat, who knows what it could do…
Before he let himself jump in though, he saw a swarm of ladybugs surround the cat, and just like that: it walked off.
No broken leg.
So the witch had healed the cat? How odd...Were her boons only again humans? Why would she save an animal?
Lost in his thoughts, he barely noticed that the cat had come to him and scratched him, not till his body let out a hiss.
He froze. He heard footsteps moving towards him.
He wasn’t ready to capture her! He needed more intel first! His mind went haywire as the witch approached closer. Suddenly, she was facing him directly.
Damian lept backwards, “Stay back, Witch.”
The girl’s eyes flashed with panic for a minute before focusing on him, “You’re hurt.”
Damian nodded, “Don't think this makes me an easy target. I am here to capture you: Ladybug Witch, and I will accomplish my goal.”
The witch looked at him sympathetically, “I’m not going to hurt you, just—here…”
She whispered something underneath her breath. Ladybugs swooped around him, seemingly attacking his stretched arm. He tried to swat them away to no avail, but no luck.
They disappeared on their own just after. And just as they had disappeared, so had his scar, and all the pain…
Damian marveled in wonder at the new feeling. He let out a yelp of surprise, “What did you do?!”
“Please be calm,” she stated, “I only healed you.”
She gave him a warm smile, “I’m Marinette, and you?”
“Not interested, did you not hear me say I’m here to capture you? I’m a hunter.”
The witch sighed, “I know, I just thought…”
“That you could brainwash me with your magic?!” Damian yelled.
Marinette stared at him quizzically before bursting out with laughter. Damian felt his cheeks go hot, he folded his arms.
“Is that what you humans really think of us?”
“Witches are monsters and evil so forgive me for being cautious.” Damian said sarcastically.
She looked sad at that, “Evil?” She asked out loud.
“Yes,” Damian stated, “your kind has tortured ours for generations.”
The witch looked angry at that, “That’s not true! Was it not so long ago that so-called monsters and humans lived in harmony?! We have never taunted your kind, you taunted ours. Why do you think I kept my identity a secret?”
“So no one knows of your misdoings.”
Hurt flooded her bluebell eyes, “I only want to help people.”
“So do I!” Damian shouted.
“So...we’re after the same thing?”
“We are certainly not!” Damian exclaimed, “Monsters are evil and hunters are good. You want to help no one but yourself.”
“Then why would I help you?!”
“To give me a false sense of security!”
“You are absolutely...impossible!” The witch said, tugging at her hair. She sighed, “Come on.”
“Huh?” Damian asked, feeling her take him gently by the arm, “Where are you taking me? Unhand me!”
“Let me show you that monsters aren’t bad, please. If you still think they are once I am done, I will let you capture me.”
“Fine, I suppose…” He glared at her, “But if you try anything I won’t hesitate to—“
Rolling her eyes, the Ladybug Witch scoffed and waved her hand, “Yes, yes, I know.”
Slowly, they began to walk through the city. More and more people seemed to pass by as they walked for what felt like hours until they reached their destination. A small, deserted alleyway.
Damian would be lying if he said the locale didn’t make him skeptical.
“Marinette!” Someone shouted, a blaze of black dashing towards them before leaping into said woman’s arms. Damian was more than shocked to see a purring boy with cat ears and a tail snuggled into Marinette’s arms.
The cat boy suddenly darted his piercing green eyes back at Damian. He opened his mouth, showing his fangs, and hissed. Marinette bapped him on the head, “He’s a friend. Stand down, Kitty.”
“Well I wouldn’t say I’m a friend but—“ Damian ceased his murmur when cut off with a glare from both Marinette and the boy in her arms.
“Uhm hunter, this is Adrien. He’s my familiar.”
“Hunter? That’s a weird name,” Adrien mused to himself. Marinette sucked in a breath. He shrugged, “Nice to meet you Hunter.”
Damian rolled his eyes, “My name isn’t Hunter, that’s just my title. I am Damian Wayne, monster hunter.”
Adrien stared back at Marinette in disbelief, “A hunter?! What were you thinking bringing a hunter here?!”
Marinette sighed, “Damian thinks that monsters are all horrible creatures—“
“That’s not true!” Adrien yelled, “Mythics are just peaceful creatures! Hunters are the ones destroying that peace.”
Marinette went on, “So I wanted to show him that not all monsters are bad.”
Adrien perked up, “Oh, well that’s easy! Glad you’re having an open mind, Damian!” He lept to Damian, hugging him.
Looking disgusted, Damian pushed Adrien off, “Great, now can we get on with this?”
Marinette nodded, “Yes, I brought you here because this is where Adrien and I start our patrol. I want you to watch us work, then you can see we save mythics and humans alike, and these so-called monsters in Paris are really just kind creatures.”
“Fine, but our deal still stands, if I see even one suspicious thing from a monster…”
“Deal? What’s he talking about Mari?” Adrien asked, looking up at his counterpart.
Marinette rubbed her temples, and muttered, “I said that if he didn’t believe me I’d let him capture me.”
“YOU WHAT?!”
“Calm down Adrien,” Marinette smiled, “We only have to do what we always do. We’ll be fine.” She squeezed his paw lightly. “Ready to fully transform?”
“I guess,” Adrien said, “But I don’t like this.”
Adrien then shifted into a fully black cat. He jumped onto Marinette’s shoulder. Marinette reached for a ladder in the alleyway, “Ready Damian?”
“Yes…” Damian said, puzzled, “But do you not have a broomstick to ride on.”
Marinette giggled, “No! That’s a misconception. Witches can perform levitation spells, but I much prefer to survey from rooftops rather than the sky. It’s scary way up there.”
She shuddered, then began to climb the ladder, Adrien tucked into her arm. Damian eyed the pair then slowly followed after them.
They quickly arrived on a tall roof, overlooking a good portion of the city. Breathing in the fresh air, Marinette placed Adrien down, giving him room to switch back. She looked into the horizon and clutched her spellbook to her chest
“Now what?” Damian asked impatiently.
“I’m going to cast a spell that lets me have the ability to hear things all over the city so I can listen for those who need help.” Marinette said paging through her book. She whispered a short phrase in a foreign tongue and cupped her eyes.
After a brief pause Damian tsked, “Doesn’t seem to be working.”
Adrien smirked, “It is, just let her work her magic.”
With a gasp Marinette uncupped her ears, “A mugging in an alley south of the Louvre.”
“Got it!” Adrien exclaimed, turning into cat form and leaping into the distance.
“Hold on to me,” Marinette said, extending her hand.
Damian looked at it skeptically, “Why?”
“I’m going to teleport us there, I have Adrien scout everything out beforehand. Since we’re connected he can speak to me telepathically and let me know the best time to get the drop on the bad guy.”
Still eyeing her suspiciously, Damian gingerly took her hand.
“It’s time,” she breathed, “Hold tight.”
In a flash they appeared behind a buff middle aged man attacking a younger boy. Marinette sprung into action, casting a quick spell to tie the attacker up. Adrien appeared at her side quickly and shifted, carrying the would-be mugger out into the open.
“T-thank you,” the boy stuttered, “But...how did you? Are you magical or something?”
Marinette gave him a soft smile and took both Adrien and Damian’s hands, teleporting away.
Damian gaped at her when they arrived back to the familiar rooftop, “You saved a human.”
Marinette nodded, “I save anyone in need, no matter what species. Everyone deserves help; ‘all that’s necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.’ I was telling the truth when I said mythics weren’t evil.”
Damian huffed, “What exactly am I supposed to think? My whole life I’ve been told monsters are evil, what makes you think one act would convince me otherwise?”
“Because I believe in you.” Marinette took his hand in her own, “I know you want to believe it, you’re a good person at heart: I can see it. Just trust me, please.”
Damian hesitated before scowling and giving her a slight nod.
Marinette smiled brightly. Damian looked up at her, it was surely not the smile of evil.

The One Where Marinette Kicks Butt #7
Part 1   Part 2   Part 3   Part 4   Part 5   Part 6   Part 8
It was a normal day at work, Marinette helped Ivy tend to the plants. Said flowers complained about everything and no matter what, could never decide what music they wanted to listen to to help them grow! After the whole you are not safe without the kwami’s protection, Marinette had to stop Plagg from eating flowers he deemed were cheese. Tikki kept eyeing the aphids and would snack on them when no one was looking. Sass kept coiling his tail too tight around the stems. Nooroo wouldn’t stop drinking the nectars. Pollen was pollinating. Then lastly, Orikko was plucking the daisies petals off one by one. To sum it all up, it was a pretty normal day.
Closing was easy since they didn’t have any last minute orders for the next day. Once the doors were locked, Ivy waved her off and they went in different directions.
They always closed at six-thirty and were out by seven o’clock. Gotham was beginning to change towards fall in late September, however, so the sun would start setting at seven instead of the usual eight to eight-thirty. Marinette lived fifteen minutes away and was a relatively small stature girl. She also had on her school uniform which meant everyone who saw her knew she was just a teenager. Do you see the problem yet? Can you guess what was bound to happen? Let’s set the scene, shall we!
Marinette had noticed them when she was walking by and one of the two men brushed her with his shoulder. Even though he was the one to run into her Marinette swiftly apologised and went on her way. She was eight minutes from her apartment and turning a corner when she noticed that they were not far behind her.
The problem was that they had been going the opposite way beforehand. So she tried to do what a normal person without pocket gods would do in this situation. She didn’t want to lead them home so she stuck with the few crowds there, trying to lose them. But night was approaching, slowly fewer and fewer people were out.
Marinette considered going into a coffee shop that was open but what good would that do if they just waited for her to exit. It’s not like she could afford to have a phone and even then she only knew a few people in Gotham. She was just deciding on how to locate a police or fire station when she was yanked backwards by her arm. Into a gosh darn alleyway.
Seriously, if they have the highest crime rates, and most of them happened in alleys, why do they have so many alleyways! Especially dark and dead end ones like where Marinette was standing. A normal person would be terrified but Marinette wasn’t a normal girl, but she couldn’t let them know that. For all they knew, they just cornered   a helpless girl that was scared of the two men twice her size. When really they were the ones who fell into the trap of a powerful god wielding girl with no escape.
“Look who we finally caught, can’t run now.”, the blonde one taughted.
“She almost looks like a Wayne. If we could convince the boss, she’ll be worth a lot more than those other girls.”, the brunette one suggested.
Who was even a Wayne and why did she look like them? Was it the blue hair, she’d never seen others that had a natural blue like her besides her mom and Kagami. It must be her eyes, but lots of people could have blue eyes, especially in America. The blonde pulled a needle out of his pocket.
“Now just make this easy and stay still so we don’t have to hurt that pretty little face of yours!”, he sneered.
Kwami, what were these awful attempts of being intimidating? She’s seen chihuahuas do much better. Plagg’s destructive energy was pulsing through her backpack, along with everyone else but he was the strongest. Why did cats have to be so territorial, she would have to put an end to this before the magic got out of hand. None of them wanted another Pompeii, Atlantis, or Black Death on their hands. She allowed them to inch closer towards her as she started rambling nonsense in French. Better if they thought she didn’t know what was going on, they’re more likely to make arrogant mistakes. The blonde could tell she was overwhelmed and about to bolt so he quickly lunged at her, but she was faster. Next thing he knew, the needle meant for her neck was in his own as he fell unconscious.
Turning towards the brunette, he had pulled out a simple pocket knife. It wouldn’t do anything more than a flesh wound unless he hit a major artery or organ. She didn’t really want to fight the two just, you know, stop them from hurting her.
Taking off her backpack, she swung it by the strap and knocked the weapon out his hands. Tackling him was the next step and she used all of her body weight to keep him down long enough to slam the bag on his head. The egg shaped Kwami box felt like a load of brick. She should know, Marinette had dropped it on her toes multiple times! Just two hits and both her attackers were out cold.
Setting her bag back onto her bag, she stood up and straightened out her skirt. Good thing she didn’t tear any of her clothes or the two would have definitely woken up with black eyes. Marinette heard two feet gently land behind her at the entrance of the alley. Wouldn’t you know it, the blue-bird that Selina had told her about and decided to drop in. Of course, right after she finished dealing with the two herself!
“Je suis désolé de ce que je leur ai fait. Ils essayaient de me prendre mais je n'allais pas laisser ça arriver. Je dois y aller maintenant monsieur!”, she said, still playing the foreign card.
( I'm sorry about what I did to them. They were trying to take me but I wasn't going to let that happen. I must be going now sir! )
“C'est bien petite dame! Êtes-vous d'accord, vous ont-ils fait du mal?”, he answered. Marinette certainly didn’t expect him to know what she had said.
( It's alright little lady! Are you okay, did they hurt you? )
“Je vais bien. Je suis pressé, je dois y aller!”, she announced and rushed past him.
( I'm fine. I'm in a hurry, I have to go! )
Nightwing looked at what the tiny French left behind. Foreigners sure knew how to get the job done. What was even in that backpack of hers. The dude would surely have a concussion, but in the end he deserved it for trying to kidnap the girl. Gothamites could surely learn a thing or two from people like her. Now the question was what to do with the criminals. He could turn them into the police or inform Red Hood about them. One had mentioned other girls, so Red Hood would be the better option. He could investigate and find the chain and most likely rescue those who weren’t so lucky and already caught. Plus, the man had a soft-spot for any and all kids.
Nightwing thought back to the French girl. She really did look like a Wayne! Dark hair, blue eyes, seemed to have gotten herself in and out of trouble before. All she had to do was be an orphan and she’d fit the memo. The girl had a Gotham Academy uniform, maybe Damian knew her? Second thought, Damian probably didn’t talk to anybody in that darn school unless he had to, so that was out of the question. Something just wasn’t sitting right with him. He had seen her before but where? No, not her, those eyes. Nightwing had seen those eyes before.
He didn’t know how long he stood thinking in the alley but the realization hit him like a truck.
She was the freaking ghost that stole his favorite blanket!

Daminette/Maribat Fairy Tail Au Part 1
Marinette grew up in a world filled with magic
Although Marinette's own parents weren't wizards, but bakers, she inherited her Gramdfather Fu's magic, celestial magic
She was able to summon spirits to help her with the help of silver and gold gate keys
The silver gate keys are pretty common, as far as gate keys go
The gold keys were a lot more rare as there was only 12 of them
Marinette already had 3, Tikki spiritof creation, Plagg spirit of destruction and Wayzz spirit of protection
They were her Grandfather's keys and he passed them down to her when he retired.
She also had a magic yoyo gifted to her by Tikki after her Grandfather had given her Tikki's key when he started training her
So when Marinette turned 16 she decided to follow in her Grandfather's footsteps and join a boarding guild
She ended up joining the Miraculous Moth guild, a guild that had a large amount of members, but nothing like Justice League, who had almost half the amount of members, but was about 10x more powerful
Their guild stamp was a pointy looking moth
Marinette had decides to get hers on her left shoulder in red
The guild master was Gabriel Agreste
Nobody was really sure what type of magic he had, but there were always a new rumor floating around that said something different.
Some said he had transformation magic
Others said he had solid script magic
Few thought he had absolutely no magic at all
And het there was some who whispered that he was a celestial wizard
Marinette didn't give the rumors much thought
She was too busy getting to know her new guild mates
She made some great friends and even made up a team with Adrien (Gabriel's son), Alya, and Nino
They were a pretty good team
Adrien was an equip mage
He can summon different weapons and armor
Alya was a solid script mage
She can create create materials by writing words out in the air
And finally Nino was a sonic mage
He can produce and control sound waves and use it against enimies
They were called Team Adrien
Marinette joined their team a week after joining the guild
The three had already been a team before hand for a couple of years
So because of this Marinette felt like a stranger looking in sometimes
Either way they made a good team
Though they were a little destructive
Luckily for them Tikki can fix everything with her miraculous ladybug spell
They had a pretty good team for about a year than somebody new joined the guild
Her name was Lila Rossi and she was an illusionist mage
She claimed to be a great independent wizard and even was offered a spot at Justice League
She told stories about saving villages and people from evil wizards and monsters
Everybody was so amazed by her, but Marinette has her doubts
She couldn't explain it, but it was just a gut feeling, but Marinette tried to do her best to push that aside a welcome her with open arms
She even joined Team Adrien
And that's when stuff really went down hill for Marinette
Lila started to make sly remarks about Marinette and celestial wizards in general
Stuff like how she didn't really contribute to fights and instead just let her spirits do all the work
Even though Marinette fights whenever she can using her yoyo
Or how Marinette is the weakest on the team
Even though Marinette could now summon 2 spirits at once something most celestial spirits can't even dream of doing especially with golden keys
She tried to ignore it, but as time went on it hurt more and more
And when her friends started to join in she tried to change that
She started to try and cast star dress
Which would allow her to share her powers with her spirits
And gave her a cute outfit with that
Her team mates didn't seem to understand or appreciate her attempts to gain more strength
They started to leave her behind for missions
They cut her part of the rewards down claiming because she didn't do as much work as the rest if them so she doesn't deserves an equal amount of the reward
Sometimes they were just abandon her to finish a job by herself then demand their part of the reward even though Marinette did all the work
The final straw came after a very dangerous mission
They were going up against a dark wizard who was kidnapping young women and selling them them into the slave trade
They took the job because the reward money was ridiculous and a golden gate key
So the team decided to use Marinette as live bait
Because she would get such a great prize for the mission
Which she was okay with
And she was successful in luring him out and was going to fight him until she realized her yoyo was gone
She then checked her keys and they were gone too
Marinette panicked and tried to hold the dark wizard back the best she can while yelling for her teammates
They didn't show up
In a last ditch effort Marinette tried to use star dress magic
Marinette: STAR DRESS LADYBUG!
Marinette felt a rush of magic fall over her
It had work
She was now wearing a read flowie dress that fell a couple of inches above her knees with a black ribbon tied around her waist and black fingerless gloves
Her hair was now down with a red headband and black flats on her feet with a new red and black pock a dot yoyo
She used her new yoyo to tie the creep up and her team finally showed up
Marinette: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS AND WHO HAS MY KEYS?!?!
Alya: Chill girl Lila pointed out that the wizard wouldn't go after somebody with magic items on them so we just grabbed them before you left
Alya held out Marinette's keys and yoyo and Marinette snatched them out of her hands checking everything over
Marinette: THAT IS SOO STUPID!!! YOU GUYS ALMOST GOT ME KILLED OR WORST
Adrien: Calm down Marinette
Marinette: DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!
Lila *tearing up*: Come on Marinette we weren't that far away
Marinette: I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! I'M SO DONE WITH ALL OF YOU RIGHT NOW!
Alya: Stop being such bitch Marinette you're fine and look you finally did that stupid star dress thing you were trying to do
Nino: Yeah dudette if you're going to be like that maybe Lila should get that gate key instead of you.
Marinette just glared at the group and used Plagg to help her drag the wizard to the Grand Council gourds that were posted in the town
She dropped him off got the reward money and the gate key
It was the Key of Illusion Trixx
When her teammates asked where their shares were Marinette just glared at them again
The whole trip back was her team criticizing her about keeping the money for herself
Marinette remained silent during the whole ride back
When they got back to the guild Lila cried to anybody who would listen about how mean and selfish Marinette was for keeping the money
Marinette ignored her and walked up to Gabriel
Marinette: Sure I would like to resign from this guild
Gabriel: Are you sure Ms. Dupen-Cheng?
Marinette: Yes after today I don't feel welcomed her any more
Gabriel: Well it'll be a shame to lose a wizard with such assets. Are you sure about this?
Grabiel looked down at the keys rested on Marinette's hip before looking back at Marinette's eyes
Marinette: Yes I'm sure
Grabiel snapped his fingers and Natalie, his second in command, removes her guild mark
Marinette walked out of the guild receiving sneers and nasty remarks from her ex-guildmates
She walked out and never looked back
She went to her home town to live with her parents and help out with the backery
She needed a break from guilds and other wizards
So she and sometimes her spirits would help her parents out
Well Tikki, Wayzz and Trixx did Plagg mostly just ate all the cheese pastries
Marinette kept training though she even made it so she can do Dtar dress with Plagg and Wayzz
Her bound with Trixx wasn't strong enough to complete star dress with him yet
After a couple of months Marinette was walking through town when she bumped into 2 boys
Both boys had black hair and looked around the same age
But one had blue eyes and was paler than his partner whi had green eyes
Damian: Sorry miss but you'll have to come with use there's no time to lose
Damian grabbed Marinette's hands and continue running with his partner Jon
Marinette: What's going on?
Jon: We're wizards on a mission to stop a dark guild who's top members are currently chasing us, so we're trying to lead them away from the populated area to avoid casualties
Marinette: Okay there's a short cut to outside of town, This way!
Marinette pulled Damian down an alley with Jon following the 2
Marinette could hear the sounds of crashing at the entrance of the alley assuming it was the dark guild members
They burst out of the alley into the open field next to the town
They made it to the end of the field before they had to face the evil wizards
Marinette looked over the group of eight wizards
Each one looking tougher than the last
Damian: Get out of here miss we can take
Marinette: No way there are way to many people for the just the 2 of you
Jon: what can you do to help?
Hearing that lit a fire in Marinette
Marinette: This! Open gate of creation, Tikki!
Damian and Jon watch with surprise as Tikki appeared in front of them
Tikki: I'm here to help
Marinette: Tikki we're going against a team of dark wizards be ready for anything!
Damian: You're a cestial wizard?
Marinette: Yep and that's not all I can do. Star Dress Black Cat!
Marinette was surrounded by a bright light
When it faded she was wearing black combat boots with neon green thigh high socks
Black shorts with a neon green belt
And a black tank top with a hood attach that had cat ears on it, with the inside of the hood being neon green
Her hair was still in pigtails but now were resting in front of her shoulders
In her hands laid a bo staff
Damian in wonder and Jon a little scared: Wow
With Marinette's celestial magic, Jon's fire God-slaying magic, and Damian shadow dragon slaying magic they were able to take down the wizards with ease and soon all the dark wizards were capture
The group of teens handed over the wizards to the guards before they finally have a proper introduction
Marinette: I'm Marinette by the way, Marinette Dupen-Cheng.
Jon: Nice to meet you Marinette, I'm Jon Kent and this is my partner Damian Wayne
Damian grabbing Marinette's hand and kissing the back of it: It's a honor to meet such a powerful and kind wizard
Marinette blushing: O-oh I don't know about that, I'm not that powerful and anybody would have jumped in
Damian: I'm not so sure about that
Marinette ended up inviting the two back to the backery for a free lunch
They continue to talk just getting to know eachother
And a good amount of flirting went on between Marinette and Damian
They were laughing and joking around and Marinette felt like she gained something she lost when she left her team
They continue their conversation as they make it to the backery
Marinette introduces them to her maman and papa before taking them upstairs to make lunch for all of them
They continue to laugh and joke around and Damian insisted on helping Marinette cook
Jon: But you're an awful cook, you go around eating people's shadows before you cook.
Marinette: Eating shadows?
Damian *blushing*: Yes I'm a shadow dragon slayer, so when I get hungry I can eat shadows or darkness
Marinette: I thought all the dragon slayers were in the Justice League guild
Jon: Yeah that's our guild
Jon pulled down his shirt to show his blue guild mark which looked like a J and L put together with a star in the middle
Damian rolled up his sleeve to show his green guild mark on his left forearm
Marinette: You guys are a part of Justice League?!?! Oh no I must be holding you guys up! I'm so sorry!
Damian: Oh no, not at all! We're really not that busy! Right Jon
Damian gave Jon a pointed look as if it say not to upset the cestial mage
Jon: Right! We have plenty of time especially with the help you gave us today. We thought we would have to be here another week at least, thanks to you we can leave tomorrow
Marinette turning around to continue cooking: Well I'll be sorry to see you go
Damian grabbing Marinette and turning her around holding her by her shoulders: Then why don't you come with us? You said yourself you don't have a guild and you're way too talented just to stay here all your life
Marinette: I don't know I don't think I'm powerful enough to join Justice League
Damian: Are you crazy? You're more than powerful enough!
Jon jumping up: Yeah! And you can be apart of our team! If we stick together nothing can stand on our way!
Marinette still wasn't too sure until she felt her keys warm with encouragement from her spirits
Marinette: Okay I'll join you!
Damian and Jon smiled and Jon raised his hand for a high five, which Damian didn't reciprocate but Marinette did
Marinette turned back to continue cooking as Damian continue to pester her to help
Marinette finally relented and told him to chop the veggies
After lunch the two boys left for their hotel telling Marinette to meet them at the train station tomorrow at 11
That night Marinette told her parents her plans and they were over joyed for her
To them Marinette started to look like a cage bird staying in the bakery longing to spread her wings but start in a small cage
The next day Marinette packed up all her things and met the boys at the train station
The trip was long it felt even longer because poor Damian had motion sickness like all dragon slayers
At one point he ended up resting his head on Marinette's lap which seemed to help him a bit so Marinette's just let him stay there
As soon as the train stopped Damian perked up
They made it to the city of Gotham just in time for dinner
Jon dragged Damian and Marinette down the streets of Gotham determined to get her to join as soon as possible
Damian: Calm down Kent I want her to join just as badly as you do, but I don't think pulling her arm out of her socket will make her move any faster
Jon: I'm just so excited! Just wait until you meet everyone Marinette they'll love you! One of the guild master's mother was a celestial wizard like you, even owned Tikki before
Marinette: Guild Masters?
Damian: Yeah our guild instead of having only 1 master has 5. Because we have so many powerful members they felt it wouldn't be right for 1 person to have so much power, so instead we have 5
Marinette nodded her head in understanding
The rest of the walk to the guild was filled with Jon's babbling about Justice League and what Marinette could expect
When they made it to the front of the guild hall Marinette froze
All the bad memories from her old guild came flooding back
And with that all her worries about being accept came back with
Marinette was spiralling until she felt another hand engulf her smaller one
Marinette looked up to see Damian with a soft look on his face
Damian: Don't worry Angel you'll be great, and no matter what you'll have me and Jon right by your side
Marinette blushed at Damian's nickname for her looking over at Jon when she feels him take her other hand
Jon: He's right Mari you have us, no matter what
Marinette smiled squeezing the boys' hands before letting go of Jon's, but keeping a hold on Damian's hand
Not that he minded or planned on letting her hand go either
They opened the doors to the guild and found utter choas
There seemed to be some sort of brawl going on among the younger members
The guild hall was two stories and as Marinette looked up on the second floor she can see the older members of the guild calmly eating and chatting ignoring the antics of the younger members
Marinette stared as Damian and Jon maneuvered her around the guild pulling her down to avoid the bodies being thrown and Damian lifted her up to avoid one of the guild members who were sent skidding along the floor
They finally made it the bar area were Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, and Diana Prince stood watching the choas
Damian: Hello Father I have brought a new wizard to join the guild
Dick from across the guild: WHAT?!?!
Tim from another part of the guild: DAMIAN BROUGHT A GIRL HOME!
The members cheered and Marinette and Damian stuttered saying it wasn't like that
But it was too late Damian got pulled into the chaos by his brother loudly protesting and somehow joining in the brawl
Bruce sighed: So you wish to join Justice League Ms...
Marinette: Marinette, Marinette Dupen-Cheng
Jon talking to Clark: And she's really powerful dad, she helped us take down that dark guild we were sent to stop
Diana: And what magic do you wield little one?
Marinette: I'm a celestial wizard and I can also preform star dress with some of my spirits
Diana impressed: And what keys to you have?
Marinette: I have a few silver one, the clock and the cross, and I have 4 golden keys, Tikki, Plagg, Wayzz, and Trixx. I can do star dress with all of the gold ones except Trixx out bond isn't strong enough yet.
Diana: That's very impressive. You know my mother used to hold Tikki's key before she retired and gave it to her dear friend Fu Cheng
Marinette smiling: He's my grandfather, sadly he passed a couple of years back.
Diana: I'm sorry to here about your lost, but if Fu entrusted you with Tikki and his other spirits you must be a powerful wizard. I vote we let her join
Marinette: Thank you
Clark: If my son says she's worthy that's all I need, I say yes to
The two guild masters looked over to Bruce waiting for his answer
Bruce: I can sense a large amount of magic and magic potential in you. It's a yes from me to, and since that makes a majority we are pleased to welcome you into Justice League. As soon as Damian escapes his brothers he can help give you a guild mark
Marinette looked around scanning for Damian giggling when she finds him in a tousle with 3 other boys who she assumes are his brothers
Dick was holding Damian in a headlock as Damian clung to Tim's back pulling his hair as Tim tried to pin Jason to the floor as Jason tried to pull Dick down with him
Jon laughing with her: Yeah those are our dragon slayers. You of course know Damian. Dick is the one putting him in the headlock, he's a light dragon slayer and a great acrobat. Damian probably gets along the best with him out of all his brothers. The boy who's getting his haired pulled out by Damian is Tim he's a lighting dragon slayer, but can also do solid script magic and barely sleeps. I swear one time I saw him eat straight coffee beans. Finally the boy with white streak in his hair trying to pull Dick down with him is Jason. He's a metal dragon slayer who prefers to use his magic to make weapons. He's the only one of the brothers who isn't on a specific team. He usually just tags along with whatever team he feels like or goes on solo missions.
Damian sensing Marinette staring at him looks towards her blushing
He shakes his brothers off him trying to make his way over to Marinette only to be stop by Jason
Jason grabbing Damian's waist: wait a moment Demon Spawn we're not done with you yet!
Damian thrashing around: Release me Todd!
Tim messing with Damian's hair: Aww are we embarrassing you in front of you girlfriend?
Damian: stop it Drake!
Dick stepping in: All right guys that's enough we don't want to ruin Hatchlings (a/n: Get it because they're dragon slayers) chances with his girlfriend
Damian finally breaks away from his brothers rushing over to Marinette and Jon
Damian: Sorry about that my brothers are idiots. How did it go?
Marinette: They said I could join, Mr. Wayne said you could help me with my guild mark
Damian: Of course come with me
Damian grabbed Marinette's hand pulling her towards a side room as Jon went to go talk to his brother Connor
Marinette decided to get a pink guild mark on the top of her right hand
Marinette seemed to fit right in with the rest of the guild
There was no adjustment period like with her old guild she seemed to be able to join in right away
She learned when a brawl was about to start up and how to avoid flung guildmates
Though Damian still insisted on lifting her over skidding bodies
She and Diana formed a close bound that started with Diana telling her stories about her mother and Tikki and it evolved in a mentor/mentee relationship
Marinette also joined Damian Nd Jon's team helping keep them focus on missions and stop the few fights that broke out between them
Sometimes Damian's brothers would "kidnap" Marinette to go on missions with them which usually lead to Damian running after them and Jon following Damian
Marinette became close friends with Dick's girlfriend Kori, Barabra, and Stephanie
They would sometimes go on girl only missions together
When they return they would often find Dick, Tim, and Damian sulking that they were left behind
That's the end of part 1, I hate to do this to you guys, but I learned there is a limited to dots and it's 250. I'll do a part 2 soon because there is still more to tell. Part 2

Sing Me the Song of My Soul (SMtSoMS), Lukanette, Soulmate/Soul Song/Fake to Real Dating Au, Oneshot.

Street Cat—Alley Bat (SCAB), Maribat, Villain/Kwami Swap Au, Multichap.
———
Au Summaries:
-
Cry a Tear of Luck (CaToL). - Kidnapped as a child by an organisation hellbent on collecting all the Miraculous for world domination, Marinette wants nothing more than to escape their hold and bring their plans crashing to the ground. But with no support network, she's stuck. However when Hawkmoth, a liar of a new recruit, public school, and being forced to be a villain and fight the heroes gets thrown into the mix, Marinette quickly finds that she's not as stuck as she thought she was. Instead her plans to escape just got a whole lot more complicated.
-
Sing Me the Song of My Soul (SMtSoMS). - In a culture where soulmates are everything, Marinette struggles to deal with her lack of a soulmate. However upon meeting Luka and realising he was also lacking in the soulmates department, the two agree to pretend to be soulmates to escape the stigma and pity associated with not having a soulmate.
-
Bleed a Drop of Luck (BaDoL). - With her parents assassinated and their Patisserie burnt down, Marinette is kidnapped by the assassins responsible. Manipulated and trained into becoming an assassin alongside friend and fellow kidnapped orphan, Kagami; the two barely remember a life without bloodshed. Secretly they wish to be heroes, and perhaps with some help from some friendly bats, birds, and miraculous animal themed heroes, their dream could be achieved.
-
May This Spirit Protect You (MTSPY). - Everyone receives a Soul Familiar twenty four hours after being born. The familiar belongs one's soulmate and is a reflection of their soul, hence the name. As a child, Marinette quickly becomes fed up with her Soul Familiar's constant aggression, mischief, and territorial nature. As a child, Damian refuses to let anyone know he has a weaknesses as big as a soulmate. And so both children renounce their Soul Familiars, leading irritating side affects and consequences. When they inevitably meet, will they be able to put aside their differences and become friends (maybe more), or will they hate eachother too deeply to even tolerate the other.
-
Ink That Glows and the Hearts it Froze (ITGatHiF). - Marinette had originally crossed paths with her soulmate at a gala that her parents were catering for. Despite having crossed paths, she didn't found out who it was and so resigned herself to the fact that it was unlikely she would ever find her soulmate again. But fate has a funny way of making things happen, such as a month long school trip to Gotham where the first two weeks would be spent as a class tourism trip, and the second two would be spent as exchange students staying with host families.
-
Street Cat—Alley Bat (SCAB). - After disaster strikes, Marinette is forced to flee Paris with a handful of stolen Miraculous. Scared and alone, she winds up in the unfamiliar territory of Gotham city. But luckily for Marinette, she catches the eye of someone who's willing to take her under their wing—or paw in this case.
