I was on vacation with two other people who I didn’t get a good look at, and we went to a vast, beautiful library. Inside, there was a big book that was golden and had jewels on the outside (kind of like the book in the intro of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty) that was kept on a pedestal so everyone could look at/in it.

When we opened the book, there were this beautiful curling handwriting, and when the other two passed by it with only a glance, I began quietly reading it to myself. Suddenly, I was rushed off by a group of people in extravagant robes, one of which grabbed the book as they went by.

They explained to me that to regular people, including themselves, the book was completely blank on the inside, and that it had been prophesized that there would be one who could see the writing, and that once every word was spoken, the reader would die and a portal to the Next World would open for the rest of the world to see.

They told me this as they led me across the street, into a giant church, and past the area open to the public. Deep inside, the rooms became small and stuffy, and kind of looked like a tighter layout of a 90s American suburban home, yet the more and more rooms kept appearing.

We stopped in one of them, and they further explained that they brought me here to ensure that those who wished to stop the portal from opening would have trouble reaching us. I was terrified - I didn’t want to die, not really, and I was pretty sure that portal to another world wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

I looked back down at the book, and everything got… hazy. I continued reading without completely understanding what I was doing, even as they lifted me back to my feet and continued going deeper into the church. I began to start feeling like… yeah, dying wasn’t such a bad thing. It would be fine.

After that, the dream steeply changed into something completely different which I can’t completely remember, so I don’t know how it ended

I’ve seen posts about more rogue SecUnits ending up at Preservation and the PresAux humans realizing Murderbot is a bit weird and feral, and it’s a great concept, *but*:

I raise you that more rogue SecUnits end up at Preservation, and the PresAux humans slowly begin to realize that every single SecUnit/construct is weird and feral in its own unique way.

T17 keeps trying to eat human foods, even though it has no digestive system and barely has tastebuds. A47 is a gremlin that spends 70% of its time lurking silently in the ductwork. The Green One will tell everyone about its plants and it Will Not Shut Up under any circumstances. Every few months everyone has to go on a scavenger hunt for Silence and un-alphabetize everything it alphabetized in the interim. It’s just easier to wear a life preserver while doing anything in Dock 27, yes it makes the SecUnit there more comfortable, no you don’t want to experience stealth force-life-jacketing. Things like that.

Ginoza Nobuchika's Birthday.

So today is the birthday of a guy who doesn't really exist but has been the focus of my journey as a queer babey-ace to well... whatever the heck I am today (affectionate).

Ginoza Nobuchika came into my life in the lockdown. His anger, his inability to understand things he couldn't control and his deep abiding loyalty all struck me right in the heart. In my fanfics, I have hc-ed him as ace, autistic and with a bunch of other states of being I live through every day. I don't care if all the stuff I write about him and dream about him is just me projecting my issues on to a fictional character. That is how it was meant to be.

Nobuchika has been with me through a lot of rough times. He has held my hand as I wept into my pillow, he has stayed by my side as I tried to figure out just who I am and he has offered me love when I couldn't understand what was wrong with me. Yes, I know this is all just me doing things for myself. It is me healing myself by becoming a partner to the Ginoza in my head that I wish the Ginoza I am in life had. And when I say partner, I don't just mean romantically. But maladaptive daydreaming has more power than most of know and Nobuchika being a figment of my imagination and Nobuchika being a real whole person who fills my life are both things that can and do co-exist.

I want to thank Fukami Makoto-sensei, Takaha Aya-sensei, Shiotani Naoyoshi-sensei, Urobuchi Gen-sensei and everyone else involved in the manga, anime, films, novels and dramas for creating Nobuchika, giving him words and thoughts and such profound humanity.

I want to thank Amano Akira-sensei for making Nobuchika look the way he does.

But most of all, I want to hug and kiss Nobuchika and wish him the happiest of birthdays. I want to tell him that things do get better. For both of us. That life is a continuous process of being and becoming and that there is love, companionship, joy, honour and comfort in it for both of us.

And since I am already on this rant-y trajectory - which in all likelihood no one will read through - I am going to include a little Psyco-Pass AU description that I never got down to writing.

Ginoza Nobuchika is the Head Caretaker of the Pandas at the Ueno Zoo. And while is he out and about doing his job providing enrichment in the panda enclosure, one Kougami Shinya and another Sugo Teppei - two random people who are in the vicinity for *reasons*, catch him dealing with panda antics and fall in love at first site. The rest of the story involves them wooing Ginoza, who has no idea why two extremely handsome gentlemen are suddenly so interested in panda-care and getting him snacks/coffee. There's obviously some misunderstandings, some perfectly harmless sabotaging of carefully planned dates and a lot of panda cuddles. In the end, the three of them live happily ever after.

Douglas A-4E Skyhawk

The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a single seated subsonic Carrier-capable attack aircraft, developed for the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

It had a wingspan of about

27 ft, 6 in (8.38 m)

It was also

40ft 4in (12.29 m) in length and 15 ft, 10 in (4.57 m) in height.

This badboy is a pretty lightweight aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of 24,500 pounds [11,100 KG for you non Americans] and has a top speed of more than, 670 miles per hour. [1,080 Km/h] This aircraft carries a variety of missles bombs and other munitions. It was capable of carrying a bomb load equivalent to that of a World War II-era Boeing B-17 bomber, and could deliver nuclear weapons using a low altitude bombing system and a “loft” delivery technique.

Skyhawks played key roles in the Vietnam War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Falklands War. Sixty years after the aircraft’s first flight, some of the nearly 3,000 produced remain in service with several air arms around the world, including from the Brazilian Navy’s aircraft carrier, São Paulo.
