Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson
Talk about a book that punches you in the face, steals your lunch money, and leaves you gaping like a fish, asking yourself what just happened. This is a fantastic introspection on a modern magical matriarchy that is stunning. Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson follows four witches in the UK who grew up friends, fought in a magical war together, and largely have gone their separate ways in adulthood. Helena is the priestess of HMRC, with a young daughter and a white tory attitude. Elle has given up her life as a healer to become a stay-at-home mother to her two children. Niamh is a countryside vet. Finally, after being fed up with the close-minded practices of the HMRC Leonie has founded her own inclusive Coven, where being black and a lesbian is not a problem. When oracles in the HMRC predict a great danger to come after the discovery of a powerful teen, their lives will drastically reorient. Even in a world where the future is foretold, fates can always change with the smallest choices. The question is, will these four be able to avoid calamity, or will the choices they make domino into disaster? In this version of London, the witches' coven and the warlocks cabal work for the British government in a secret. The world is unaware of the existence of magic, and the magic users who can heal, read minds, predict the future, and call on the elements do their best to keep it that way. These systems are on the precipice of large changes, prompted by the magical institution's moral rigidity. The book challenges rigid notions of gender and explores the consequences of disrespecting others’ bodily autonomy. The place of trans women in the witch’s coven is a primary point of conflict in the book. I cannot imagine it being explored better. The book has compassion for trans women and trans youth and the characters will quite literally move the earth to protect them. Now, the female friendship dynamics in this book are messy and I absolutely love it. Capturing the feeling of growing out of your friendships or growing around your childhood friendships is not an easy thing. Even without communicating telepathically, characters know with a look when something is wrong. They know what to fix, and what to leave alone. More importantly, they show the ways you have blindspots for people you have grown up loving. The fact that they are brilliantly talented witches with complex emotional and personal lives is simply icing on top of the cake. You will know what I mean when I say I will actively die if anyone harms Holly and Theo. I could say more about how I absolutely adore their character arcs, interactions, and overall existence, but I will not because you have to witness it. Considering there is another book in the series that may be just as deadly as this one, I will need all the help I can get. If you are a fan of British workplace fantasy books like Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s Good Omens or Daniel O'Malley’s The Rook but are looking for something a bit queerer and more witchy, this is the book for you. I need to let you know right now there are TERFs in the novel so please take proper care as you read. I would also like to say I think Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson is a wonderful book that will take the world by storm if we let it.
Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson, is on sale today, May 31, 2022. I would like to thank Penguin Random House for providing the ARC of Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson in exchange for my honest review.

I'm excited to announce that I have signed a book deal with Del Rey at Penguin Random House in the US and Michael Joseph in the UK for my debut novel, Alchemised, a standalone dark fantasy set in a war-torn world of necromancy and alchemy, in which a healer with amnesia is taken as a prisoner of war and must fight to protect her lost memories and the secrets hidden among them. It will grapple with themes of trauma and survival, legacy, and the way that love can drive one to extreme darkness, and it is, as you may be able to tell, a reimagined version of Manacled.
I know I’ve been rather quiet about my publishing journey, and a lot of that has been because I didn’t want to spark any concerns or worry that I might be abruptly taking away a story that is such a deep part of myself and that I know has meant so much to so many people. This process has unfolded very slowly and quietly because I have tried to be mindful as I could be in every step of the way.
As most of you know, I have been a reader in fandom long before I ever began to write. Fanfiction is incredibly special to me, and I have tried to do my best not to undermine its legal protection or allow my works to do so either. During the last several years, there has been a growing issue with illegal sales of Manacled, putting both me and the incredible community that shares fanfiction freely in legal jeopardy.
After consulting with the OTW as well as other lawyers, it has grown clear that as a transformative writer I have limited options in protecting my stories from this kind of exploitation, but I wasn’t sure what to do; I didn’t want to just take the story down, in part because I worried that might only exacerbate the issue, but I didn’t know what other options I had. Then I suddenly had this idea of alchemy, which was peculiarly appropriate; an academic world filled with unique transmutational abilities, and a necromantic war against people who had discovered the secrets of immortality, and I could see a path to reimagining the story while still holding on to as much of the original spirit of Manacled as possible.
I began redrafting the concept privately around Christmas 2022, and then as if the universe had aligned, just as I was finishing, Caitlin Mahony and Rivka Bergman of WME reached out to me and were delightfully enthusiastic about concepts and ideas for my new alchemical world and the ways I had reimagined the story.
I'm thrilled to be working with Emily Archbold, my visionary editor at Del Rey, along with Rebecca Hilsdon at Michael Joseph in the UK, to polish this novel for publication in Fall 2025. I feel uniquely privileged that both my publishing teams are familiar with Manacled and understand how special it is to so many people, and how important it is that this reimagining captures the same spirit while also having its own wings.
Manacled is not going anywhere at present. It will remain online throughout 2024, at which point it will, if you’ll pardon the pun, alchemise for 2025 and be removed from AO3.
I'm so thankful to all of you who've enjoyed my works, and I hope that I can continue to rely on your support as I take my next steps as an author.

New publishing announcement!
Hi guys!
I know it’s been a long time since there’s been news about The Wicked Powers. I’ve actually been sitting on information for a long time because I was not allowed to talk about it. It was making me pull out all my hair, so I am super glad to be able to share the following announcement with you: The Wicked Powers is scheduled for publication, and will be published by Walker Books in the UK and Random House in the US.
There’s a bunch more about this announcement, including the announcement of a brand-new YA romantasy series I’ll be doing called In Fire Foretold. That will be published by Pan Macmillan in the UK (same people who published Sword Catcher) and by Random House in the US.
I know there will be a lot of questions about what my schedule is, why things are coming out when they are, whether I have anything coming out next year (Yes, The Ragpicker King, the sequel to Sword Catcher, and also for those who participated in the Kickstarter, those four books) and the overall future of everything Shadowhunter-related. So I will be doing followup announcements to address all that stuff, but first, here are both press release from my publishers in the US and then in the UK with all the info!

GLOBALLY BESTSELLING FANTASY PHENOMENON CASSANDRA CLARE TO PUBLISH  FINAL TRILOGY IN THE ‘SHADOWHUNTER CHRONICLES’  AND NEW DUOLOGY WITH ALFRED A. KNOPF BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS  First book in THE WICKED POWERS to release in Spring 2026
(New York, NY, April 5, 2024)—Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, will publish five new books from #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cassandra Clare, whose novels have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, been translated into 43 languages, and published in more than 60 countries. The new publications will begin in Spring 2026 with the first book in THE WICKED POWERS trilogy, the sixth and final series in Clare’s 23-book, young adult fantasy franchise The Shadowhunter Chronicles. Also slated for publication with Knopf is a brand-new YA romantasy duology, IN FIRE FORETOLD. The news was announced today by Melanie Nolan, VP and Publisher, Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, who acquired North American rights from Suzie Townsend and Joanna Volpe of New Leaf Literary & Media in a highly competitive auction. Michelle Frey, Senior Executive Editor, Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, will edit both series.
Cassandra Clare mesmerized readers across the globe with the publication of City of Bones (2007), the first book in the Mortal Instruments series, and was quickly dubbed the “New Queen of Fantasy” by the Wall Street Journal. The Mortal Instruments became the basis for the far-reaching Shadowhunter Chronicles, an intricately drawn world that has seen global success and has been adapted into both a feature film and television show. The books follow the Shadowhunters, a secretive race of humans born with angel blood, whose mission is to eliminate the demons that plague the Earth. Knopf’s first publishing collaboration with Clare, THE WICKED POWERS (Spring 2026), will follow Kit Herondale, Ty Blackthorn, and Drusilla Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices series as they are drawn into the final massive conflict between the demons and the angels.
IN FIRE FORETOLD is a pulse-pounding YA romantasy duology set in a new world with entirely new characters. The story centers a young woman who must learn to control her dangerous magical abilities in order to save her kingdom, all while finding herself torn between two brothers—the kingdom's princes, born to a cursed royal bloodline. The publication date for IN FIRE FORETOLD, as well as news of additional books to come from Cassandra Clare and Knopf, will be announced.
Says Cassandra Clare: "I am delighted to have Knopf and Penguin Random House as my publishers for this last trilogy in the Shadowhunters world. They truly understand what it means—both for the story and for my readers—to wrap up such an epic tale that has been told over so many years. I'm also excited to be launching my next YA series — a kickass portal fantasy that contains a ton of things I love, from a bold and reckless heroine to a magical wasteland filled with terrifying monsters that must be fought, to a love triangle with two very unusual cursed princes. I can't wait for us to bring these stories to the world."
Says Michelle Frey: “Cassandra Clare is a beloved author whose work has a massive following for good reason: she sucks you into a fully imagined world and never lets go until the last, satisfying page. I have long admired Cassie and am thrilled to be working with her on both the delectable final trilogy in the Shadowhunter Chronicles and the heart-stopping new love triangle she has dreamed up with IN FIRE FORETOLD.”
Random House Children’s Books (rhcbooks.com) is the world’s largest English-language children’s trade book publisher. Creating books for toddlers through young adult readers, in all formats from board books to activity books to picture books, novels, and nonfiction, the imprints of Random House Children’s Books bring together award-winning authors and illustrators, world-famous franchise characters, and multimillion-copy series. Random House Children’s Books is a division of Penguin Random House LLC.
UK/AUS/NZ:
Walker Books will publish three new books, the final trilogy in Shadowhunter Chronicles, the first coming in Spring 2026.
Separately, First Ink will publish a brand new YA duology, introducing readers to a fantastical new world of Clare’s creation, filled with enticing new characters and heart-racing action. With sales figures for Cassandra’s novels exceeding 40 million copies worldwide, translated into 43 languages and published in more than 60 countries, these are exciting and major acquisitions for both publishing houses.
Walker will launch THE WICKED POWERS in Spring 2026 with the first book in the trilogy, The Last King of Faerie. THE WICKED POWERS is the final instalment of Clare’s 23-book, young adult fantasy series, Shadowhunter Chronicles.
THE WICKED POWERS (Spring 2026), will follow Kit Herondale, Ty Blackthorn, and Drusilla Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices series as they are drawn into the final massive conflict between the demons and the angels. The novel marks the beginning of the final trilogy in Clare’s globally beloved series.
Cassandra Clare Says about THE WICKED POWERS: "I’m thrilled to be taking this momentous step in the Shadowhunter chronicles with Walker! They published City of Bones in 2007 and now we will be bringing this huge epic to a close together. With their creativity and dedication, I know they’ll do it justice."
Denise Johnstone Burt says: “We at Walker are immensely proud to have been Cassie’s publishers from the very beginning, when City of Bones launched the Shadowhunters into the world. Since then Cassie has become one of the most beloved writers in YA fantasy all over the world, and with very good reason. Her world-building and character portrayal are absolutely second to none and her books never fail to mesmerise her fans. I am delighted that we will be returning to the world of Shadowhunters once again in THE WICKED POWERS, and know Cassie will bring the Chronicles to a conclusion with her trademark brilliance and consummate style.”
First Ink will publish IN FIRE FORETOLD, a pulse-pounding YA romantasy duology set to delight all fans of Cassie Clare. UK and Commonwealth rights were acquired by Samantha Smith, Publisher of First Ink and Macmillan Children’s Books’ Fiction, Non Fiction and Picture Book List, from Danny Baror and Heather Baror-Shapiro at Baror International.  The duology will be a super lead title for First Ink and will launch with a significant multi-channel communications campaign including national media, influencer and fan events [HBS1] and multimedia advertising.
IN FIRE FORETOLD sees the launch of a brand new world and set of entirely new characters for Clare. The story centres on a young woman who must learn to control her dangerous magical abilities in order to save her kingdom, all while finding herself torn between two brothers - the kingdom's princes - born to a cursed royal bloodline.
Cassandra Clare says about IN FIRE FORETOLD: “I’m so excited to be publishing IN FIRE FORETOLD with First Ink. This story contains so many things I love- it’s a portal fantasy that swings between worlds, where the gritty LA streets exist alongside a dangerous magical world filled with deadly monsters - and a uniquely tough heroine who’s ready to do battle on all sides. Not to mention some gorgeous princes with shady pasts. I know how much Pan Macmillan loves fantasy and how well they publish it so I’m thrilled for this partnership."
Samantha Smith, Publisher at First Ink, says: “Cassandra Clare is a phenomenon author who has delighted and surprised her millions of readers across the world for decades now. As a huge fan of both her YA Mortal Instruments series and latest adult fantasy Sword Catcher, I cannot wait for her to turn her formidable pen to a new, heart-stopping series in In the Fire Foretold and could not be more excited to welcome her onto the First Ink list”
Belinda Ioni Rasmussen, Managing Director at Macmillan Children’s Books, says: “ Welcoming Cassandra Clare to First Ink with a brand new fantasy world is very exciting - both for us and her fans.  Her storytelling is second to none and her new duology on our list is the perfect partner series to her brilliant publishing that sits on our Tor list at Pan Macmillan.”

Congratulations on your author debut, I'm so excited for your book!! 😇💕
Would you consider talking about the whole process of becoming a book illustrator /children's book author?
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! And I'd be happy to share the process!
It all started for me with my 3dTotal artbook. 3dTotal is a small publisher in the UK, and they mainly focus on collections of artists' work. They use Kickstarter to fund each book, and my agent (the amazing Seth Fishman at Gernert) discovered me through the Kickstarter for my artbook Windows to Worlds!
He asked if I had any interest in working on graphic novels or picture books, and I had already been thinking about picture books! He found me my first picture book project with Penguin Workshop, Mother of Sharks, written by the awesome Melissa Cristina Márquez, which came out last year!
While I was working on Mother of Sharks, I was also talking with him about developing The Bakery Dragon, based of course on this painting, which was (and is) one of my proudest artistic moments.
For a little background on the painting, I painted it right after a really challenging couple of months medically - I was dealing with medical complications from my chronic illness for about 6 months, and I wasn't able to finish a single painting the whole time, I was just too exhausted from hospital visits and being in pain. That painting was the first piece I was able to actually complete (both emotionally and literally) in about half a year. So it always held a really special place in my heart, and I really wanted to keep living in that little world. I think there's something in it that is very special to me, about being outside in the cold, seeing warmth and love through a glass barrier, and wanting desperately to reach it.
With Seth's guidance, over a couple months, I developed a pitch for it. The script developed slowly alongside the designs for characters, locations, etc.
Tumblr media
(Early version of Ember above! He has changed a bit!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I thought I had already read a lot of picture books, I've always loved them, but I read hundreds and hundreds during this process. There is something uniquely fun and challenging about telling a complete narrative in 48 pages (which is already a long picture book, many are 32!) My book also pulls some elements from comics, such as speech bubbles, which I found to be incredible assets for humor and character development.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My pitch included designs, some early example spreads, and a rough script with story beats and jokes! My agent took it out into the world, and the publisher we ended up going forward with was Knopf, an imprint of Penguin Random House! I absolutely love the Knopf team and the beautiful books they put out! My editor, Katherine Harrison, really understood what I wanted to accomplish and has been so incredibly helpful in her guidance!
And from there... through rewrites, dialog adjustments, and lots and lots of drawings, it became a book! I'm happy to answer questions about the process! I'll leave you guys with a little preview from the interior of the book! (And of course you can pre-order it here, gotta learn the author skill of always including that link haha!)

Valentine Low's latest,
https://archive.vn/aREov
The Duke of Sussex wanted to cancel the publication of his memoir during his visit to Britain last summer, a US publishing source has claimed.
The team working on Spare, the duke’s memoir, were believed to have been told: “He’s pulled it. He doesn’t want to do it.”
Harry is understood to have had second thoughts about going ahead with the book, for which he was paid a multimillion-pound advance, when he was in the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
Insiders at Penguin Random House speculated that the royal family told him that if the book were published while Queen Elizabeth was alive there would be “no way back”.
The source, who was involved in the publication of Spare, said: “The book was all ready to go but visiting his grandmother he had second thoughts.
“That was such a dark day. Everyone had been working so hard on this project in utmost secrecy — and with the expectation this would turn out to be one of the biggest and most historic books we would ever get to publish.
lol
I worked for years with the publishing industry and believe in supporting it but can't deny I'm laughing at Penguin Random House getting Markled like this by Spanish Epiphany. Historic? Harry's frostbitten penis? A broken dog dish? Unhappily shared lip gloss? It's Meghan and Harry's slam book.
Also,
The source also described how the book had to be translated from American English into the British tongue.
“It was extraordinary. A member of the royal family describing everything as ‘awesome’ and using phraseology like: ‘We had gotten ourselves into a difficult situation’ — we had to go through the whole manuscript to make it sound like he was actually English.”
Probably the best and most salient part of the story,
During one Zoom call the young children of a senior publishing executive accidentally walked past his computer screen and a furious Harry demanded that he be removed from the project. “Prince Harry’s whole thing is about control,” the insider said. “He feels he’s never had it — but boy did he demand it with this book.”

"I wonder if their card said, behind a large yellow candle"
Their card states:
To: Harold and M, Duke and Duchess of Chunga-Changa
What: KCIII Coronation. You can see The Prince of Wales' Coronet, The Princess of Wales will wear an elegant dress that will match her Tiara and other crown jewels that will be loaned to her, and the Wales' kids looking so regal, specially Princess Charlotte with a nice dress that actually fits. This is a soft show of the future of the monarchy just to remind you what and who matters.
Where: United Kingdom. We do not have any branch in North America, we are not planning on bringing the coronation to you.
When: May 6, 2023. We know it's your son's birthday. We intentionally chose this day to give you a reason not to come. You no longer need to think of any excuse since we know you are not good at thinking.
Why: We actually don't want you here. The tax payers don't want you too. Nobody bloody wants you but we are still sending for the sake of sending.
How to get there: Since you think that you are more important than you really are, and act like you're Earth's most victimized victim of all victims eversince victimization exist. We decided that it is best to send a platoon of well trained penguins from North Pole who will handle your security. The penguins will come at your castle at Chunga-Changa. They will excort you to your borrowed private jet. Those penguins will fly you first to Australia since you claim to be famous there. The Aussies will have a tea throwing party at you. Immediately after that, they will fly you to Vancouver Island where the penguins will take a pap photo of you so you can publish a pap photobook at Penguin Random House. After Canada, the penguins will bring you to Africa and tell all the citizens to ask you if you are Ok. Only then you can go to UK.
To protect you from the racjst UK. We have commisioned life size yellow cancles that will surround you while in UK. It'll be there while you are walking, seating, standing even when you are riding a car. No paps or British media can take a photo/video of any your body part since the candle will handle the cover. Also to protect Harold from the Willy, PoW, we decided to place your seat at the very back of the venue. The PoW and his family will seat in front being the heir. The spare like most stock of spare parts are in the tool box in the back. So you stay at the very back. Also since The Wife is mad that the Princess of Wales got first dibs of the designer brands and she needs to follow the queue after her, we are delightful to inform you that you no longer need to follow that queue. The British brands decided to remove you from the queue. You are no longer need to have to choose from their selection since it will not be offered to you.

Society of Authors calls use of bad reviews for book blurbs ‘morally questionable’
After several critics complained of being quoted out of context on the covers of Jordan Peterson’s new book, the industry body has spoken out against the practice
Tumblr media
by Ella Creamer
The Society of Authors (SoA) has spoken out against publishers misrepresenting negative reviews on book covers and the UK publisher Bonnier Books is producing a “best practice” document for blurbs, after controversy over the use of reviews on the cover of the Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson’s book Beyond Order.
On 15 August, prominent writers criticised the way their reviews had been quoted on the back cover of the paperback edition of Peterson’s book, published by Penguin Random House. The Times columnist James Marriott tweeted an image of the cover featuring a quote from his review that appears to endorse the work. In the now deleted tweet, he wrote: “Incredible work from Jordan Peterson’s publisher. My review of this mad book was probably the most negative thing I have ever written.”
The quote attributed to Marriott read: “A philosophy of the meaning of life … the most lucid and touching prose Peterson has ever written.” The actual phrase from Marriott’s review is: “one of the most sensitive and lucid passages of prose he has written”, a description specifically about one chapter in an otherwise almost entirely negative review.
In a similar vein, Johanna Thomas-Corr, literary editor of the Sunday Times, tweeted that her quote featured on the book (“Genuinely enlightening and often poignant … Here is a father figure who takes his audience seriously. And here is a grander narrative about truth, being, order and chaos that stretches back to the dawn of human consciousness”) was a “gross misrepresentation” of her review, calling for it to be removed. In a Sunday Times comment piece on 20 August, she wrote: “Beyond Order is an awful, mad book – you shouldn’t buy it.”

Harry is understood to have had second thoughts about going ahead with the book, for which he was paid a multimillion-pound advance, when he was in the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

“And then, just after Harry’s last trip to London, the boss walked in and said: ‘He’s pulled it. He doesn’t want to do it.’ I can’t tell you — it is an enormous and expensive operation getting a book like this ready and everyone involved was devastated.”
…..
The decision not to publish was taken two weeks after the duke and his wife had visited London to attend the jubilee celebrations. Although no definitive reason has ever been given, there were rumours within his publishers at the time that Harry had been given an ultimatum by the palace.
During one Zoom call the young children of a senior publishing executive accidentally walked past his computer screen and a furious Harry demanded that he be removed from the project. “Prince Harry’s whole thing is about control,” the insider said. “He feels he’s never had it — but boy did he demand it with this book.”
The source said that contrary to speculation there were no significant revisions made after the Queen’s death.
“Be in no doubt though, there will be some who read Spare and think he’d better continue cultivating that American accent. For Brits especially, they may feel there is no way back.”

Malibu Rising
Tumblr media
Author:
Taylor Jenkins Reid
Publisher:
Penguin Random House UK
Content (Blurb):
August 1983. It is the day of Nina Riva’s annual end-of-summer party. Everyone who is anyone wants to be around the Rivas: surfer and supermodel Nina, brothers Jay and Hud, and their baby sister Kit. Together, the siblings are a source of fascination in Malibu and the world over – especially as the children of the legendary singer Mick Riva.
By midnight, the party will be completely out of control.
By morning, the Riva mansion will have gone up in flames.
But before that, the alcohol will flow, the music will play and secrets will come bubbling to the surface.
My Review:
Malibu Rising is the first book I've read by Taylor Jenkins Read. I didn't have any great expectations of the book and didn't quite know what I would encounter. Malibu Rising really surprised me in a positive way and will probably stay in my head for a long time. This story is carried by its characters and the unique atmosphere that TJR creates with her writing style.
At first glance, there is nothing unique about this story. It is a story about a functional and dysfunctional relationship and family. However, TJR manages to give the story something unique. Her writing style, the feelings she authentically portrays, the characters with their worries, doubts, hopes, with their good and bad sides, give the book a very special atmosphere that really captivated me from beginning to end.
Fundamental to the book is the search for love and belonging, for acceptance and self-determination. In particular, the pressure that comes with taking care of a family and putting your own needs on the back burner is portrayed by TJR in this book. She describes in a really heartbreaking way what it means to love someone who isn't always there when you need them, who betrays you and doesn't love you back in equal measure. All these feelings really got to me and are authentically portrayed by the characters.
Another special thing about this book is that TJR doesn't necessarily make the reader sympathize with the characters, but she manages to make the reader feel with them. This is really something special about her books and I really enjoyed it.  The Riva siblings, their fate and their lives feel real and authentic. You feel like you are following the lives of real people, empathizing with them, understanding them and becoming familiar with them.
Resume:
With Malibu Rising, Taylor Jenkins Reads has created a book that immediately captivated me with its real characters, destinies and emotions. The search for love, acceptance and self-determination, as well as the sacrifices for family and love itself, really touched me.

A 12-MONTH RECONCILLIATION & OTHER SUBJECTS
When Harry and Meghan decided to "step back" as "senior working royals" in January 2020, it was agreed by HM Queen Elizabeth II and the then Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Charles and HRH Prince William that a 12 month review of this decision would take place in January 2021. The fact Our Lady of Perpetual Victimhood is letting it be known in the press and popular media that the Sussex family is willing to reconcile with the rest of the family following the death of Her Majesty, but giving it a time scale of 12 months is testament to her pettiness. Not for her a press release saying "times like this make you realise how important family is..."
Her shallow, peevish, point-scoring, one-upmanship, mentality practically screams out for satisfaction, for revenge. This is why the Montecito Moanarchy has put a 12 month timescale on the reconciliation.
Harry, his memoir and Netflix. Poor old Harry, hey. What's a poor, misunderstood, downtrodden, hounded Princeling to do? Fed up with life in the goldfish bowl/Truman Show world that is the British Royal Family, he ups sticks with his wife and baby son, and, with the blessings of his family flees to that well known bastion of privacy and solitude, California.
Yes, after a decade spent playing call of duty doing his duty as a serving soldier in HM's army, followed by a stint as the 3rd wheel to the Prince and Princess of Wales, Saint Henry of the Wounded Ego, fed up to the back teeth of the constant hounding of the press and paparazzi of himself and his beleaguered girlfriend/wife made the very wise and impossibly grown-up decision to do what she tells him and they returned to her home state. They wanted to get away from all the intrusions and as Meghan said, they don't have tabloids where she comes from!
So, Harry wanted his privacy, as did Meghan. On their terms. This is the story of their lives. Everything has to be on their terms. Meghan has no problem giving interviews to Oprah, Ellen and now it seems every cut-rate gossip mag masquerading as serious journalism. Harry is willing to invade his own privacy as long as the price is right. Worse, if the price is better than he was expecting, he is quite happy to invade the privacy of the family he left behind in the UK.
His paymasters at Netflix and Penguin Random House have shelled out multi-million $$$ for the inside stories of the "Standing Out With the Sussexes" and "Harry Windsor - How I went From Spare to Hero to Handbag" and they want their pound of flesh. As we've seen, Harry is learning self-promotion well, people are already talking about the book, it's being insinuated that a chapter here and there is being either heavily edited/rewritten or even taken out and allusions are being made to the affair that never was between William and Rose Hanbury. Simply by doing that, he's garnered interest for the book and conversely for the series.
Another year, another paid for "humanitarian" award? Meghan's jealousy really does know no bounds does it?
On the anniversary of the moon landing, 20 July 2022, Boston was announced as the host city for this year's Earthshot Awards. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy's "moonshot" challenge, it seems fitting to have the second award here in his home city. Working with The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and the city of Boston, the awards will be broadcast to a global audience. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy (JFK's daughter) said, " “There is no more important Moonshot today than repairing the planet and no better place to harness the Moonshot spirit than the City of Boston.”
Which brings us back to Meghan because of course it does. It always does. Suddenly a few days ago, along with President Zelensky of Ukraine, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were late announcements for the Robert F. Kennedy "Ripple of Hope" awards 2022. See? William is parterning with the Kennedys, America's answer to the royal family? Well, gosh, darn it! Meghan and Harry are going to do something with the Kennedy's too. So there!
Now, I'm not saying they paid for this award. I'm not 100% certain they could afford to pay for a table looking at the prices if the rumours of their financial situation is to be believed but, I'm also not not saying they paid for this award. They have a track record so, make of it what you will. Click on the photos of the other recipients and you get a short bio of who they are and the work they do (why they're getting the award). Click on the photo of the duplicitous duo and you get the photo credit. And yet, according to Kerry Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, the pair were made aware they had been awarded the prize back in March. To me, that speaks volumes.
