[“Watching erotic films—movies that are driven forward by sex scenes—is different from looking at single photos, pictorials, snippets, clips. The medium, the experience of going all the way through an eighty-minute feature, is an entirely different ride than a momentary glimpse, a fast-forward.
To prove it, I started throwing living room movie shows for my friends. I would give away my screener copies and show segments of my favorites. It was like I was offering free rocket tickets to the moon. My neighborhood audience was fascinated—and completely inexperienced. The living room got a little bigger—I created an educational show-and-tell clips lecture called “How to Read a Dirty Movie,” and another one called “All Girl Action: The History of Lesbian Erotic Cinema,” which I started premiering at independent theaters like the Castro and the Roxie. I hit the festival circuit all over the world, including a daring mission by the British Film Institute to get my movies in, despite ironclad UK customs rules against them.
One college-tour memory stands out. In rural Blacksburg, Virginia, a closeted gay student got ahold of student union funds for Friday Night Fun! at Virginia Tech to bring me out there for one of my clips shows. This is a school with a history of devotion to Southern white boys and military service. The students weren’t even allowed to watch R-rated films on campus. I didn’t find out this history until I was moments away from the podium. My young sponsor looked like he’d just detonated a bomb and his face was covered in sweat. “My Dirty Movie” clips show started, which happens to begin with excerpts of two young handsome army cadets making out on a firing range. I thought the roof was going to cave in. Blacksburg boys were running for the doors, making vomiting sounds, screaming. The students who stayed in their seats watched a full spectrum of sexual and human emotion, delivered by porn’s finest auteurs. They got more sex education in one hundred minutes than they’d had in their entire lives.
The stunned president of the Young Republicans, a co-sponsor of Friday Night Fun!, took me out to a fast food dinner afterward. He told me that he found it curious that the scenes of lesbians making love had pleased him, while the scenes of gay men had given him a stomachache. I was impressed that he was calm enough to observe his own reactions.
“I don’t disagree with all of what you do,” he said, “but I think it’s entirely unjust that you receive checks from the government for your homosexuality.”
I stared at him with my mouth full of fries. “Oh, it’s not that bad,” I said, “I only get half as much because I’m bisexual.”]

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has released a preview of the province's education budget in an attempt to get the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation to drop its ongoing job action.
Teachers in the province have been without a contract since August and have been carrying out rotating one-day strikes and withdrawals of services.
The latest job action is slated for Friday, with teachers to withdraw from noon-hour supervision in specific areas of the province, including Saskatoon and Regina.
Moe took to social media on Wednesday, announcing in a video that the province's upcoming budget would "include the largest increase in school operating funding ever in Saskatchewan's history." [...]

Breeding Stud Thunderclash Training AU #1
Inspired by @mychlapci’s breeding stud post which is linked here. The concepts. The concepts. Especially applied to Rodiclash. But a little to the left.
TW: Breeding, Edging, Orgasm Denial, Overstimulation, Dubious Consent Due to Society, Heat/Rut, Consensual Drug/Aphrodisiac Use, Consensual At Least, Mechpreg (Only Implied For Now)
PART I – Setup
The background for this is that even with MTOs to supplement their forces, supplies (and people) were still limited until Autobots found away to increase the fertility rates of heat/rut cycles and artificially stimulate them. This created something called Breeding Duty. It could be voluntary but was somewhat like jury duty only based of an individual’s base fertility rates. If chosen an Autobot was required to serve out through one “Breeding Season” to increase the population. This is how “warborn” mechs like Fortress Maximus were born yet not MTOs.
Breeding Season meant a mech being assessed for fertility both in carrying and siring and then after full checkups and necessary repairs being forced into training and then inducing a constant heat/rut until they were either Sparked or Sparked a required amount of mechs or the set time passed unsuccessful. They would then serve out the rest of the time either moving between carriers and supplying transfluid donations (studs) or carrying to term (Sparked mechs). Once their service time passed, they would return to the front lines. Some though, especially if they were prone to bonding could instead request to continue raising their new Spark until they were old enough to start their education. This was offered to both the stud and the carrier and either could chose or completely surrender custody to the Autobots.
Although given the choice when they were adults to swear to the Cause or become Neutral most were already so loyal due to propaganda they immediately enlisted or signed up for relevant training to benefit the Autobots some other way.
This turned out to be a fairly safe a peaceful job and some retired to it permanently or were recommended for it if they were stressed or even volunteered.
Rodimus actually volunteered frequently as it soothed something in him to create instead of kill and he enjoyed interface and he was also hyper fertile and basically always successful. He in fact had a reputation as one of the Autobot’s premier studs. He even took paternity leave to raise some of his Sparklings if their carriers gave up custody. In total Rodimus knows he has seven Sparklings, all of whom he kept track of, and three of which he took the time to raise. He was so well known he actually hired himself out to private couples who reproduced as people could fulfill the duty with their partner(s) if they desired and as long as a Sparkling came out of it no one cared how. Some people even made a habit of tracking down or seducing Decepticons as a hobby.
Admittedly, of the three he raised one became a Decepticon, one became an Autobot, and one left to go become a Neutral. He’s proud of all of them.
This is one of the few things Rodimus knows he can hold over Thunderclash. Thunderclash was injured before the initiatives started due to population decline. He’s Spark couldn’t handle the stress required to fulfill either role. So Thunderclash hasn’t interfaced in literally thousands of years due to not wanting to tax his system.
It comes up at Swerve’s because people gossip and Rodimus was laughing because “one of his” was mentioned as being in Starscream’s Biop that Thundercracker was doing, playing him. Rodimus was busy laughing, genuinely delighted by an update about Flamewar, while Megatron had to deal with the new knowledge of Autobot Breeding Programs and more specifically that Rodimus had reproduced multiple times, which of course triggers old gossip and Rodimus preening and smirking about his “powers”, which a few on the Lost Light can personally attest to.
Thunderclash hears and immediately get flustered, but also realizes he could kill two birds with one stone and plans it out and approaches Rodimus privately in his suite. Rodimus is suspicious and hostile, while Thunderclash is flushed, aroused because the idea hasn’t left his mind, and a little timid. He eventually gets out that he is here to request that Rodimus assists with training him to be a stud as he is long behind in fulfilling the duty and knows that there are several onboard who are registered to carry and Thunderclash wants to fulfill his duty.
Rodimus’s first instinct is to reject him but that instinct is immediately beaten by horny thoughts. Specifically of everything that training could entitle and having Thunderclash under his heel to bully as much as he wants. Sexually. He literally freezes as his own arousal shoots immediately through the roof when to try and distract himself he snaps that it would only work if Thunderclash does exactly everything he says no matter how outrageous and opens with telling him to get on his knees, arms behind his back and legs spread. Thunderclash’s engine gives a very loud roar before immediately obeying and looking at Rodimus like he hung the moon and Rodimus is a.) isolated and lonely and repressed sexually currently and b.) riding the high of this.
He grabs Thunderclash’s face and looks at him, noting he is still absolutely placid and actually steaming a little the closer Rodimus gets and the obvious and clear attraction is very, very heady so Rodimus agrees.
He then spends a week working intensely to build a training regime for Thunderclash, getting his medical records from Velocity wit Thunderclash’s approval, diverting the ship to due some shopping, and placing some special requests with Brainstorm while building his “curriculum”. The entire time they are both getting more and more tense and ready to start and Thunderclash has been dreaming about Rodimus using him as his personal stud, while Rodimus has been not sleeping making more and more elaborate sketches of Thunderclash in a variety of positions and harnesses and gear for his requests for Brainstorm who is keeping this secret but placing some bets and absolutely enjoying the drama from his corner.
This all builds up of course to Rodimus sending Thunderclash a start date and reinstating his own paperwork, but, after thinking about, rechecking the box for carrier just in case.

For MCU asks, favorite thing you have learned from your WWII fic research so far?
In terms of "sheer WTF but basically harmless," the fact that the American jewelry industry basically invented (American) men's wedding rings and by extension the double-ring ceremony in weddings during the war. Prior to the 1940s most married men did not wear wedding bands (there was an attempt by the industry to popularize men's wedding rings in the 1920s, but it didn't really take off), but after the end of the Depression and during the war the jewelry industry managed to invent the "tradition" of the double ring ceremony. Advertisements from the 1940s focus on soldier's wedding rings as a way to keep the ring from being too "feminized," as well as being a reminder of home, a symbol of hope that deployed men will return from the war, and a commitment to their brides.
I found this out after I wrote the wedding ring scene in Home 1, but fortunately by 1945 it was common for married GIs to wear rings, so it's not an anachronism. Occasionally men's wedding rings from MIA soldiers still turn up in Europe and the Pacific, I found a bunch of news articles about that when I started looking; most of the rest of what I found was jeweler and wedding blogs talking about how men's wedding rings took off during WWII because soldiers wanted to show their commitment to their wives. Which, yes -- but only because the jewelry industry WANTED them too, men's rings don't spontaneously generate.
Tumblr media
[advertisement from January 1944 issue of The Jeweler' Circular-Keystone, from J.R. Wood & Sons, Inc, the premier wedding band manufacturer in the U.S. the picture shows a GI looking at his wedding ring, with his rifle slung over his shoulder.
text: MEN IN THE ARMED SERVICES MOST IMPORTANT POST-WAR INFLUENCE: When you make your Post-War Plans, consider the more than 100,000,000 men in the Armed Services. They are the best-dressed, best-fed, best-educated group of men in the country. And, after the War, they will be the most important influence in this country at Peace. A far smaller group of men, in the First World War, came back to revolutionize markets and buying. Cigarettes, quick smoke in the trenches, became the smoking habit of the nation. The wrist-watch, born of war-time practicality, became the peace-time time-piece. In this war, too, influences are daily at work, which will leave their impact on the era to come.
[sidebar: Helpful Hint on Post-War Planning] One trend that is sharply evident today and limited only by the restrictions of war-time manufacture is the service man's interest in the companion wedding ring. The double-ring ceremony has caught on -- and will undoubtedly be one of the generally accepted practices of tomorrow. Plan now to dramatize this trend!
No one can predict exactly what the Post-War World will bring. But the influences which will guide those years ahead are clear to see -- and heed!]

USAF's first female fighter pilot retires
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 09/26/2023 - 08:29 in Military
The career of an Air Force pioneer came to an end this weekend, when Maj. Gen. Jeannie M. Leavitt, the first female fighter pilot of the U.S. Air Force (USAF), retired after 31 years of military career.
Leavitt's retirement ceremony took place at Scott Air Base, Illinois, on September 23. The head of the U.S. Transportation Command, General Jacqueline D. Van Ovost - one of the only three women who have ever led a command of a combat squad - officiated and reminded all those present of the legacy that Leavitt created.
Tumblr media
“[Jeannie] had to deal with a constant demand to be in the spotlight, because of her many premieres, something that does not represent who Jeannie is,” Van Ovost said. "She prefers to stay behind, behind the scenes to guide and educate. Taking care of people and the mission - [this is] the true purpose behind his continuous dedication to service."
Tumblr media
Leavitt's journey in the U.S. Air Force was, in fact, marked by numerous "innovations", challenging preconceived notions about the roles that women could play in the armed forces. She was the first woman to join USAF fighter pilot training in 1993. Later, she made history as the first female fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. She was also the first woman to command a combat fighter wing, the 57ª Wing at Nellis Air Base, Nevada.
Throughout her career, she has accumulated more than 3,000 flight hours, including operational missions such as Southern Watch, Northern Watch, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Most of his experience was on the F-15E Strike Eagle.
Tumblr media
Van Ovost reflected on the obstacles encountered by women in combat functions during the early 1990s, noting that simply changing policies was not enough. Gaining acceptance and recognition were separate struggles, she added, and Leavitt played a key role during a period of significant change, breaking down barriers that had long kept women out of combat pilot roles.
Throughout her career, Leavitt was a strong advocate for women in aviation and encouraged young women to pursue careers in the Air Force and aviation - four of these pilots appeared in a tribute video during the ceremony.
Tumblr media
His commitment to challenging stereotypes went beyond the military, as he collaborated with Disney on the film 'Captain Marvel' to narrate his journey in the U.S. Air Force and share a more accurate portrait of a lifetime dedicated to service. However, Leavitt's aspirations were never just about personal fulfillment, Van Ovost said.
"On behalf of all those who have traveled by your side and behind you, thank you for having the courageous character necessary to open new paths for others to follow," said Van Ovost.
Tumblr media
Leavitt's final mission was as head of the Air Force Security Center, overseeing the entire program and policy of aviation, occupational, weapons, space and accident prevention and nuclear safety system of the Air Force Department.

'Sixty years is but the blink of an eye for a time-traveller like The Doctor. But for a television series, a Diamond Anniversary is an extremely rare and impressive occurrence.
BBC’s Doctor Who recently celebrated such a milestone with three one-hour specials which, for the first time, streamed globally on Disney+.
Russell T Davies, fresh from his success on ’80s AIDS miniseries It’s A Sin, returned to the show he brought back so successfully in 2005 to the BBC. Bolstering his team are returning producers Julie Gardner and Phil Collinson, and Jane Tranter, the woman who was instrumental in bringing back Doctor Who in 2005. Bad Wolf, the company founded by Tranter and Gardner in 2015, currently produces the show with BBC Studios.
Another big returning name return was David Tennant, who played the 10th Doctor from 2005-2010 and who also returned for the show’s 50th Anniversary in 2013. Beloved by fans and audiences alike, Tennant’s Doctor was a big ratings draw.
Though, it’s not all returning past glories for Doctor Who. There is a new actor portraying the Time Lord, Ncuti Gatwa, who is taking over the titular role with the the forthcoming season 14, and who made his debut with the specials. The Rwandan-Scottish actor made a name for himself as gay teenager Eric Effiong in the Netflix comedy series Sex Education and recently starred as “Artist Ken” in Barbie. His first full season debut in the TARDIS will come in spring 2024, with a premiere date yet to be set.
Not only that, powerhouse streamer Disney+ is now on board to broadcast these new episodes across the world (with the exception of the U.K. and Ireland, where it still airs on BBC)...
What Happened in the 60th Anniversary Specials?
Showrunner Davies brought Tennant back with a cosmic bang and a galactic-sized nod to fan service with an adaptation of a Doctor Who Weekly comic strip first published in 1980.
The first of the three specials, “The Star Beast,” was a 60-minute romp that wonderfully evoked the Tenth Doctor-era, complete with cutesy alien The Meep (think The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda, but bigger and hairier) and the return of much-loved companion, Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate, The Office).
Last seen in the Tenth Doctor’s finale in 2010, Donna’s return posed a fatal conundrum for the Doctor: If she remembered her past with the Doctor, she would die. Thankfully, writer Davies had a workaround, meaning that the 60th anniversary celebrations did not result in the death of a companion but, in fact, allowed Donna to live unharmed and enjoy some further adventures in time and space with her best friend.
The main question, though, was just why the Fourteenth Doctor, played by Tennant, had the same face and body of the Tenth Doctor, also played by Tennant. This was an unprecedented move in the history, or Whostory, of the show. Special number two, “Wild Blue Yonder,” traveled to the end of the universe and delved into the uncanny, but still posed the query as to why that particular face returned. (It’s a good face, we weren’t complaining).
Fans would have to wait until the third and final special, “The Giggle,” before the mystery was finally revealed. And it was all down to Donna. She surmised that he changed his face and then found her to “come home.” The Doctor commented, “I’ve never been so happy in my life,” as he sat with the Noble family, not fighting aliens and enjoying a spot of lunch.
The Final Special Had More Up Its Intergalactic Sleeve
Aside from the return of fan favorite Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) and ’80s-era companion Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford), there was an even bigger returnee waiting in the wings.
Making an all-singing, all-dancing return to Doctor Who was the formidable villain, The Toymaker. Played by Neil Patrick Harris (best known for portraying Barney Stinson on the CBS series, How I Met Your Mother), the Toymaker made his debut opposite the First Doctor (William Hartnell) in the 1966 four-part serial, “The Celestial Toymaker.”
The character was originally played by English actor Michael Gough, who would go on to play Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred in the four Batman films directed by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher. Though, it’s hard to picture Gough pulling off NPH’s manic routine to The Spice Girls’ 1997 hit, “Spice Up Your Life”.
And then there was the first appearance of the new Doctor, Gatwa. But this was no simple regeneration, as seen in Doctor Who so many times previously. Just as the return of a previous actor to play a new regeneration of the Doctor was unprecedented, Davies debuted another new element in the show’s mythology: “bigeneration.” This left fans shocked as the Fourteenth Doctor, seemingly regenerating as per usual, actually split into two, revealing Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor and Tennant’s Fourteenth Doctor standing, looking at one another just as surprised as the millions of Whovians watching across the globe.
What is Bigeneration and What Does it Mean for the Future?
As is explained in the behind-the-scenes show Doctor Who Unleashed, “instead of a new body taking over from the old body, the new body separates from the old body, and both are left alive.”
This means that there are two distinct Doctors roaming the universe at the same time. While it might take some time for Tennant’s Fourteenth Doctor to pick up the keys to his TARDIS and start planet-hopping, as he seems quite happy to kick back in England for a while, it’s possible — nay, highly likely — that the Gatwa and Tennant Doctors will meet again.
For the time being, though, Davies has stated that there are “no plans” for a Fourteenth Doctor return, adding that he’s “parked” on Earth with Donna Noble for a “happy life.”
Interestingly, Davies has also suggested that this has even bigger implications for Doctor Who. This bigeneration has created a new timeline where all previous incarnations have been affected, with every Doctor continuing to exist after their own regeneration. Davies may be joking when he refers to this as a “Doctorverse,” but he has established “The Whoniverse” (bringing in previous spinoffs such as Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures) so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that audiences could witness various team-ups featuring Gatwa with previous Doctors at any moment. Or, perhaps more spinoff series could be on the way featuring the past Doctors on their own...'

Quebec's school service centres will have to ensure bathrooms and changing rooms newly built or renovated are gender specific rather than gender neutral, according to a new government directive published Wednesday in the province's Official Gazette.
"I believe that our boys and girls in schools have the right to have a private space," Education Minister Bernard Drainville said Wednesday.
The controversy dates back to last year when a petition was launched against a plan to make gendered bathrooms gender neutral at D'Iberville high school in Rouyn-Noranda, Que.
Drainville said at the time that the school should "correct the course," particularly to avoid discomfort and harassment of young girls.
Premier François Legault tasked Family Minister Suzanne Roy with setting up an advisory committee to study the matter. The committee's recommendations are expected next winter. [...]

For disability awareness month I'm gonna give y'all a run down of Cummings v Premier Rehab Keller
""The high court ruled {April 28, 2022} 6-3 against Jane Cummings, who is deaf and legally blind, determining that emotional distress from discrimination is insufficient harm to warrant a lawsuit under four federal civil rights laws.
Cummings sued after Premier Rehab Keller in Texas declined to provide her a sign language interpreter at her physical therapy appointments. The therapy provider said that Cummings could use notes, lip reading and gestures to communicate instead.
Cummings argued that Premier Rehab Keller discriminated against her on the basis of disability, violating the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Affordable Care Act, which apply to facilities that receive federal funds like the therapy provider does."
In addition to the Rehabilitation Act and the Affordable Care Act, the ruling applies to the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
In dissent, Justice Stephen G. Breyer noted that discrimination often harms in ways that are purely emotional.
However, a federal judge determined that Cummings’ only injuries were “humiliation, frustration and emotional distress” and indicated that the laws in question did not allow for the recovery of damages in such cases. A federal appeals court affirmed the ruling and a majority of the Supreme Court agreed."
source
What are the rights affected, exactly?
Rehabilitation Act of 1973:
requires affirmative action in employment by the federal government and by government contractors and prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in programs conducted by federal agencies, in programs receiving federal financial assistance, in federal employment, and in the employment practices of federal contractors
The Affordable Care Act:
To provide essential health benefits as ambulatory patient services; emergency services; hospitalization; maternity and newborn care; mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment; prescription drugs; rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices; laboratory services; preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management; and pediatric services, including oral and vision care
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972:
requires that no person be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination on the basis of sex under “any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964:
prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives Federal funds or other Federal financial assistance.
What does that mean?
Lack to provide equal accessibility is no longer ableism under federal law and
Intentional inaccessibility discrimination is okay so long as there is no material or physical affect

Predictions for the next episode of Murder Drones
Tumblr media
Last year, I made a post of headcanon and theories on what would happen in Murder Drones after watching the pilot. And then, I made a post about speculations of other types of drones produced by JC Jenson. And after watching the second episode, third episode, and fourth episode over time, I believe that I have to recollect my thoughts on what would really happen in the show. But for now, I'd like to make a prediction list on what's going to happen in the next episode, which would probably premiere around June. I thought I should make this quick before the teaser premieres sometime this month or in May.
I think the next episode will be about movie night. Considering that N found the Zombie Drones video tape in the cabin Uzi was exploring, he might go watch it to find something important there, much to his fear. I believe that he's going to watch it alone at first, until Thad would show up and decide to hang out with him watching the video tape. I think that Thad would also invite some of his friends over to movie night (including Chad, the drone riddled with toxic masculinity), as well as Uzi, V, and Lizzy. Obviously, this would make N twice as nervous.
I believe that Uzi would tell to her dad about what happened in Camp 98.7, including what she found at the cabin so far, the tiny cockroach robot, and her crazed murder spree. She'll also show her dad her Solver form, surprising him, yet making him more worried for Uzi's safety and well-being.
I think that, during the intro, Doll will investigate the cabin, continuing off where Uzi left off, as we briefly saw her watching Uzi before she disappeared last episode. She would be looking for something vital to the cure of the Absolute Solver program, like some documents of sorts. I also think that she'll spot Tessa and J at the campsite and overhear their plans. I think that the duo would discuss about what to do with the remaining drones in Copper 9, and especially the rogue drones (Uzi, N, and possibly V). I also think that they'll discuss about what to do with the bodies scattered throughout the colony, both the drone bodies and human bodies.
I assume that Doll would reluctantly team up with the Murder Drone trio, ensuring that she will cure Uzi of her condition. As such, the trio and Khan will be suspicious of her, especially Uzi and V. I also think that Doll will teach Uzi how to hunt without remorse, as well as how to use her telekinetic abilities. I believe that Doll initially doesn't know about Uzi's shapeshifting abilities and organic replicating abilities, since I hold a headcanon that Doll's abilities are largely mechanical. Maybe Uzi and Doll would bond over their situation, as both of them had lost someone from disassembly drones and are infected with a virus-like program that is affecting not only their bodies, but also their sanity.
I think that, in the meantime, V would hang out with Lizzy. Considering that her relationship with N is faltering fast and how she saw that he is spending more time with Uzi, she would try to move on from him. I believe that she and Lizzy would share their experiences with each other, like V's past life as a worker drone (or service drone) with N and J, or how Lizzy became friends with Doll. I have a headcanon that Lizzy caught Doll killing her classmate, and as Doll try to kill her with her telekinetic powers, she couldn't somehow, just like how she wasn't able to kill Uzi with her powers during prom night. So, Doll threatened Lizzy to be friends with her, or that she'll rip her head right off, thus awakening something in Lizzy: her fetish for murderous, eldritch beings.
I could imagine what kind of training video it would be, most likely an analog-style video. I'm actually surprised that humans would use video tapes in the 31st century PHYSICAL MEDIA IS FOREVER. I think that the video would start out as a fun, goofy, yet educational training program with 80s/90s horror elements. But then, it would gradually become creepier and more mind-boggling, with various disturbing jumpscares and morbid B-rolls between cuts, almost as if it was tampered with. And then, there would be more disturbing cuts directed at N, like a long cut of a drone in a maid dress in the far distance, with filtered audio saying, "Thanks for being there with me, [insert N's true name]." And then at the end, the video goes back to its spooky, campy tone, almost as if it was never altered with.
I believe that when N watches the video tape, he'll undergo a huge panic attack, as well as some of his repressed memories being restored back. After that, I think that Thad will transform into an eldritch form and assimilate his classmates, revealing himself as the Absolute Solver. I believe that the real Thad had been long assimilated by the malware after it had captured him and implanted a copy of itself into his CPU. A huge fight between the Solver and the Murder Drone squad would ensue, with N and Uzi struggling the worst (N being traumatized as shit and couldn't take a moment to breathe right now, and Uzi being incredibly distraught and enraged that her crush is now long dead). I think that the Solver will torment them the most, especially Uzi due to its connection with her mother, Nori.
After the Solver's second defeat, and possibly not the last, N would immediately run away from the scene, prompting Uzi and V to chase after him. After that, I think that N will undergo a horrific, trauma-induced transformation as he morphs into his eldritch form (similar to how the Solver did with J's body) and goes on a rampage, thus ending the episode on a cliffhanger. I'm unsure if N could transform into an eldritch being under stress, but from what I've read from this post, Uzi transformed into her Solver form from a horrific combination of emotional stress and a huge craving for oil. Plus, N, V, and J are installed with the AS program in case their bodies get wrecked in a state of disrepair. It wouldn't feel out-of-place for N to invoke the AS program and transform into a rampaging mechanical abomination.
So, that's all the predictions I have for the next episode. I'm gonna have to make a few more posts about other topics like Thad's current status or Tessa's true goal. I'm gonna have to resume drawing again and finish my picture of disassembly drone!Uzi soon enough. Let me know what you guys think about these predictions, as well as some errors I made.

Private Sector Good, Public Sector Bad? (2)
This is the second part of a look at former public services and utilities in Britain that have been privatised in the name of neoliberal economics and the mistaken belief that private enterprise is ALWAYS more efficient than publicly  run bodies.
Prisons
The first privately run prison in the UK was opened in 1992 under a Conservative government and private sector involvement in Britain’s penal system has grown steadily ever since. The UK is now second only to the USA in the number of privately run prisons.
Premier Custodial Group was formed in 1992 and in 2005 was the largest private company running UK prisons. It was a joint venture between the American private prison operator Wackenhut Corrections Corporation and the British firm Serco PLC. From a turnover of £7.52 million in 1994 it had increased its revenues to £127.4m, with pre-tax profits of nearly £10m, paying out a £2m dividend to shareholders. In 2002 Wackenhut was taken over by Group 4 Falck.
In 2003 Serco gained control of Premier, estimating that Premier's
“income over the life of its existing contracts for five prisons, one secure training centre, two immigration facilities and court escort custody and electronic monitoring services was £2bn” (Cited in Prison Reform Trust: Private Punishment :Who Profits; January 2005)
Group 4 Securicor (G4S) was a company created in 2004 when Group 4 acquired Securicor. Since these takeovers these companies have gone from strength to strength, with Serco, G4S, and GEO Group branching into immigration and other services.
In 2018, the Guardian reported that the Home Office paid these companies:
“hundreds of millions of pounds to run the UK’s immigration removal centres, but no one knows for certain just how profitable the industry is…Commercial confidentiality agreements mean the Home Office and outsourcing companies are not obliged to publish detailed financial information about immigration detention centres in the UK.” (Guardian: 10/10/22)
In 2022, one of these companies, Sodexo was awarded a £264 million UK prison contract over a ten year period. On receiving the contract, Paul Anstey, CEO, Government, Sodexo UK & Ireland stated:
“Our vision is to provide a secure and safe environment which reduces re-offending through education, builds new skills and offers respect, equality and inclusion.” (Facilities Management Magazine: 16/08/22)
If only that were true! As long ago as 2013 Sodexo Justice Services  was facing charges of prisoner torture and degradation.
'Cruel, inhumane and degrading': Female prisoner kept segregated in 'squalid' cell for five years.”  (Independent: 21/08/2013)
In 2016 a video of naked Prisoners pretending to be dogs led to an investigation into violence and humiliation of prisoners by Sodexo. In September 2017, a female prisoner died under Sodexo care. An inquest into her death concluded:
“serious failures at Sodexo run HMP Peterborough contributed to death of Annabella Landsberg”  (Inquest: 04/04/2019)
Another prison run by Sodexo was accused of residing over a “spice” epidemic, which led to the death of a male prisoner. (Manchester Evening News) In 2018 Sodexo was again accused of neglect and systematic failures resulting in the death of yet another inmate. In 2019, a different prison run by Sodexo was accused of “systemic breaches of inmate human rights”.
In February of this year 20 prison staff resigned from the Sodexo run HMP Lowdham Grange, which was deemed so unsafe the government was forced to take it over.
The appalling levels of service cited above are not restricted to Sodexo alone. In her book “Profiting from their misery: Britain’s private prisons”, Hatty Nestor reveals that:
“outsourcing companies like G4S encourage prisoners to work 40-hour weeks, all they are paid (is)  as little as £2 an hour. Such practices amount to slave labour. Companies are profiting from prison labour, paying fewer well-trained, low staff wages. In private prisons, staff are paid 23% less than public prisons, and they also outsource security, healthcare and cheap food. Private prisons aim for a profit margin of 8-10%, which is met by cutting costs and the increased exploitation of staff and inmates.”
Given that privately run prisons pay their staff less, are more overcrowded, and employ fewer prison officers you would think they would at least be more cost effective yet this isn’t the case. The governments own figures for 2022/23 reveal that it cost £32,762 per prisoner, per year in publicly run prisons, while the cost for privately run prisons was £33,628 per prisoner. (Ministry of Justice: “Costs per place and cost per prisoner by individual prison.", 21/0324)
What is more, the government gives 23% of its allocated budget to private companies despite the fact their prisons only house 15% of the total prison population. It seems that whichever way you measure private prison success (apart form profits for its shareholders) private prisons do far worse than those still in the public sector.
