Went to bed last night thinking about that scene in shippuden where Juugo jumps in front of Sasuke to protect him from the Hokage reincarnations and how it parallels all the times Sasuke jumped in front of his team mates (Team 7) to protect them except this time in reverse. And then I thought about how until Team Taka no one ever jumped in front of Sasuke to protect him, and how surprised Sasuke looks when Juugo does it. . . and anyway if anyone asks why I love Team Taka and think they're the best thing that's ever happened to Sasuke this is one of the reasons why.

Sasuke: Now, I will give an award to the team that has been with me at my lowest part of my life and the one that I would truly call my family.
Sakura, Naruto and Kakashi: begin to stand up
Sasuke: SIT YOUR ASSES DOWN! I was talking to Team Taka!
Sakura, Naruto and Kakashi: sits down
Suigetsu, Karin and Juugo: stand up to get their award

Im always re reading the manga
And this time I realized three things.
The first one it's about Team Taka. When they are fighting against Bee, Sasuke almost died a lot of time and this fight is the moment Kishi showed they bonds getting stronger, because they put theirs life in game for each other, for Sasuke and He realized he could trust his life to them. This was the first time they protect Sasuke in this battle and seeing Sasuke's body reaction, he didn't imagine that Suigetsu and Juugo would come to save him... But then, in Kage summit arc...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He didn't even blink...
Tumblr media
The second one It's about SasuKarin: Maybe Kishi didn't think to do that on purpose, but when Sasuke got revived, when he wake up the first thing/person he saw was Karin 🥺 U can see in the painel when they are sit in the floor, Naruto is looking forward, but Sasuke is looking at his left... He literally came back from dead and the first thing he saw was the face of the woman who got through the world to reach him. That's it.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I can't understand what happened, because all the development in the team's bond is based on the mutual need that each one has in the other as Kishi himself showed.
Tumblr media
And for those who say that Sasuke only used the Taka members... I'll say that he never intended for after the Kage summit arc involve them in his plans... He himself says that his plans weren't just kill the elders, but Kill everyone in Konoha and the only one that know about this was Tobi.
Tumblr media
But at the other hand he said the same thing for team Taka, that he wasn't a pawn of Akatsuki. So at the end of the history his real plan was to destroy Konoha by himself with the amaterasu. Neither Hawk, Neither Akatsuki. So, in any moment at that arc, Sasuke would left them behind, The Akatsuki and the Hawk... Sasuke knew Juugo and Suigetsu could find a way to save themselves, and for Karin, she was in the middle of his revenge... Anyone who got in her place would suffer the same fate, even Naruto.
Tumblr media
Ok, at this point is everything ok... It's all in line with the story and what the characters was facing... The thing is the way Kishi makes Sasuke behave when they meet again...
Like, Sasuke still immersed in darkness, but here he is more lucid, centered on what he must do and not blinded by hatred and revenge... He is there in search of the truth to decide which path he should follow, and again Kishi puts the taka team into his life, and yet, after all, he makes Sasuke treat them as indispensable. It's contradictory.
For real, I love they group dynamic and what they represent for each other... And I love to repeat it:
Sasuke is a kind of light at the end of the tunnel for each of them and also represents a new beginning.
I've always understood Karin's and Juugo's motives, but it wasn't until recently that I understood Suigetsu's one.
Tumblr media
To Juugo Sasuke was peace, for Karin happiness and Suigetsu some sense of freedom and For Sasuke team taka could be all this thing together and I saw them has a opportunity for him to heal and I just love this one here [x] It's a lot about Sasuke and Konoha and shows that Sasuke himself don't belong there.
That's it 💕

Do you like team taka
You mean, if I like comrades that show loyalty and friendship with no limits, that stay by your side at your lowest, that won't give up on you even when you are insane, unfair and even mean to them?
Friends that will trust you and cherish you regardless of the darkness that consumes you, that will go with you to the end of the world, that will not run away from danger to protect you?
Friends that are ready to be your partners in crime, that would go burn the world by your side? Are you really asking me if I like them, Anon?
I love them. With all my being. Team Taka forever.

Have we forgotten this panel too soon? “Remember that it’s Sasuke who defeated Orochimaru and freed us all. When you’re out I want you to spread the word, tell everyone you meet... A man is now among us who will bring stability and peace. You got that?”

“Sarada is the first Uchiha that awoke her MS out of a sense of pure love, unlike the rest of them that were rooted in hatred –she’s the first one to break the “Hatred Cycle” of the clan.”
*sighs* Listen, there’s nothing I’d like more than to leave Boruto and all of its byproducts behind for good, yet over and over again the rabid anti-Sasuke fandom comes back to trash on the original characters of the show for the sole purpose of chanting “old Uchiha bad, new Uchiha good” around a barely lit pit fire.
Allow me to quickly break this notion, as it doesn’t need much more inspection than a faint passing of our eyes through the original series to debunk it.
Tumblr media
After hearing Naruto is sealed away alongside Hinata and everyone blames Boruto, Sarada starts crying and, in desperation, asks her dad to “help Boruto”, awakening her Mangekyou Sharingan.
[Contrary to what I initially believed as I thought she might be asking for help as she couldn’t move, she’s not injured, she appears to be (at most) in shock due to everything that Boruto has to face, so, in case you’re one of those Naruto fans that are used to have pretty plot-relevant, emotional moments after the initial awakening of an Uchiha’s MS, let me tell you: That’s not happening, at all.]
Regardless of the minuscule and for real, for real, not sarcastic at all, very-well thought and constructed attempt to empower a character whose relevance to the main plot lies in the fact that she is the only daughter of Boruto's mentor, many stans of the child saw this opportunity to trash on Sasuke’s power as an Uchiha (you know, the reincarnation of Indra itself), and to justify such an awakening of one of the most powerful forms of the Sharingan under the premise that “it’s a different type of awakening because it’s linked to love, not hatred.”
So, in order to fact-check such affirmation, let’s see how other characters achieved the Mangekyou:
Sasuke:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasuke awakes his MS originally from learning the truth behind his family’s genocide; before this (and I mean, chapters before this, as his MS is dedicated a total of three chapters) Obito explained that the Uchiha were planning a coup and that Itachi, to protect Konoha and his brother, committed the annihilation of his entire kin following the government’s orders. We see him crying before a new resolution is reached: destroy Konoha. His MS awakes due to his pain which turns to complete anger.
However, you wouldn’t believe how Sasuke has conscious access to both Mangekyou:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s right folks, he has conscious access over his right MS by thinking of those he wants to protect, Team Taka and Team 7. So this “hatred” cycle that powers up his Sharingan is fuelled by one thing and one thing only: love.
Furthermore,
Tumblr media
Sasuke got conscious access over his left MS technique when trying to save Karin, as she’s a very dear comrade of his. Something similar happened when he awakened his Sharingan versus when he got conscious access to it when trying to save Naruto.
Tumblr media
[Sasuke awoke the Sharingan when he was eight years old, so the idea that “haha, Sarada awoke her MS when she was younger than him so she’s better!” is stupid as he awoke it when he was at least four years younger when facing the genocide of his people, unlike her that got it from daddy issues. In fact, awakening MS or the Sharingan before or after has nothing to do with the person's capacity as a ninja as it solely depends on the traumatic events that said person experiences. It's safer to say that her emotional threshold is significantly lower than her father's given the "peaceful" times in which she grew up than to claim a "superiority" based upon the age they both experienced traumatically enough events to influence their chakra and develop or evolve their doujutsu.]
Obito:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obito, somewhat similar to Sasuke (and this is due to their feelings, as they’re heartbroken and such pain triggers their raw hate), awakes his MS when he sees the girl he loves get killed by the boy he started to consider a friend when he was twelve/thirteen years old. His feelings are so strongly connected to his Sharingan that they also evolve the doujutsu that Kakashi possesses.
However, there’s a striking difference between how Obito awakened his Sharingan (basic form) and how Sasuke or even Sarada did as he achieved such power when trying to save his comrades.
[Sasuke awoke the Sharingan due to the pain he felt when seeing his parents get killed by his brother, which turned into hatred when Itachi "explained" his reasons. Meanwhile, Sarada got her Sharingans due to the pain she felt when her father didn't recognize her, which turned into fear when he threatened to kill her.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obito’s Sharingan was completely awakened by a sense of protectiveness over those dear to him, in other words, love.
Every single Sharingan or evolution of the same doujutsu is driven by the same emotion. From there, it either derivates to different states (pain, hate, grief, and so on), or it doesn’t, but no Uchiha can access either form without feeling a strong positive connection with someone or something they are trying to protect.
P.S: Unrelated, but look how pretty Kishimoto's art is compared to Ikemoto's (who also sexualizes minors constantly, as this is the cover of the newest volume), Sasuke looks so ugly and Sarada's MS is the most awful thing I've ever seen. No wonder the manga is flopping. Yikes.
Edit to add: It’s devastatingly hilarious how the whole point of Sarada’s Mangekyou wasn’t even about her; nor her power, nor the relevance of her bonds, it was about making a powerful enough moment for Sasuke to believe her and help Boruto! Everything becomes, yet again, about Sasuke.

It angers me to think about this.
Team 7 was apparently a team for barley 6 months. Sasuke spend barley 6 months with them. Then comes minus 1 month for the preparation for the chuunin exam (training with kakashi) and Sasukes 1 month hospital stay (after his beloved saint brother tortured him mentally and physically for hours).
So after the chuunin exam Team 7 had no mission together and after our saints visit Sasuke was not in the picture anymore for a long time till they brought that gambler into the village.
So you want to tell me, that Naruto, that blond fascist brat... chased after Sasuke for years.. he chased after someone he barely knew for 4!! damn months??
And he talks about commaradeship, friendship and brotherhood bullshit to someone he tied up at the beginning of the manga because he was fucking jealous? In the beginning in the manga it was said that Naruto is not a hard worker, he barely doesn't do anything. He doesn't train, doesn't study, doesn't work on himself but was mad and jealous over Sasuke cuz he was perfect at everything because he was not only a prodigy but because he worked hard, studied hard, worked on himself. A sharingan alone did not make him great. Hell even if the sharingan was taken away from him, he would still be the best because he's a hardworking guy. But take away Kurama from Naruto and he's nothing. A mere loser.
So after what kind of "friendship" is that blond shit after? Sasuke doesn't liked Naruto at all. Yes he helped his ass and that pink garbage ass out and that's it. And no, he doesn't had "special feelings" to pink shit. Sasuke helps everyone because he is not a shithead who helps people only to gain something in return. He does not abuse people or take advantage of them. He's a good guy that's why he helped and protected them. But on a personal level he didn't liked them. I wouldn't even say he hated them because to hate someone you need to acknowledge them first. He was indifferent to them because he saw no value in wasting his time hating them.
And Naruto chased after whom again? For years? And forced himself on him with his fascist mindset? And manipulated him?
Sasuke knows Orochimaru, Kabuto, Karin and to some extent Suigetsu (because sui was in that water tank so I suppose he didn't talked that much with him but they definitely interacted because Suigetsu was shocked when sasuke came after him and he talked in that bossy manner, which tells me that sasuke was very kind to him and also to karin because she also didn't understand why he talks in that bossy manner) more compared to that shitty team 7.... .. uhh I'll stop. I'm annoyed...again

this was so fucking RAW like sasuke being lauded as a revolutionary force instead of villainous scum...more pls! it fucking sucks that in the end the other members of taka had to end up all being orochimaru's "followers" again like .... kishi always knows how to acutely ruin an excellent thing. but anyways. WE LOVE SUIGETSU! AND SASUKE!

If you hate Karin Uzumaki, or think she's a "slut" you're not welcome on this blog either.
She's a trauma victim who doesn't know how to express her feelings after years of sexual assault by various men and women of varying ages.
She had the purest intentions for Sasuke, proven in her infinite tsukuyomi state.

I love your taka content so much. I love these babies so much. All 4 are perfect. I love all. SasuKarin, SasuJugo, SasuSui, SuiJugoo, maybe even probably JuugoKarin? But i rather stick with SasuKarin for her. (expect SuiKa for obvious reasons because ss tards try to force them on us and they really don't make any sense. SuiKa is gross) but I love everything you write about taka is just ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and I love how Jugoo cares for Sasuke. He's such a good guy
Thanks for dropping by to send this <3 Team Taka is my full time obsession and I'm so glad someone is benefitting from my random ideas! haha you know I used to low key (and I really do mean low key) ship Karin and Suigetsu but that was a while ago and my mind has changed a lot and honestly I agree with you that it's just not a good fit. I think I like their dynamic better as frenemies. I'm sure you know from my stuff that JuuSasu is THE ship for me but one of the things I love about Team Taka is that pretty much all of them have some sort of chemistry with each other. Whether that's BFFs, frenemies, lovers, etc. etc. I really enjoy the potential for deep connections with each other. And that's one of my favorite things to explore. And yes. I'm with you 100% . Juugo is such a good guy and the amount of care he has for Sasuke just makes my heart explode.

Me towards 99% of characters in Naruto: I hate all of you. You all terrible characters that is shocking that you even have fans in the first place.
Me towards Sasuke, Fugaku, Mikoto, Madara, Obito, Neji, Killer B, Rock Lee, Might Guy and Team Taka: Except you guys. You all are bby and deserved to be loved. Here, a lolipop.

I was thinking about an AU where Sasuke leaves Konoha and alongside team Taka (without Orochimaru) build up they own village...
Yep, just like Orochi. I didn't like him, but Naruto and Sakura followed the footsteps of their masters, at least something positive should have for Sasuke from the time he stayed with Orochimaru.

So he followed the noise to find Suigetsu tied up.
And then he took out his camera before Karin immediately poses with a tiredly cherubic façade.

Fic recs!
Fics where Sasuke isn’t a bootlicker for Konoha
A Theory of Justice by onepieceofharry
Summary:
Sasuke was already six years old, two years older than Itachi had been when Fugaku had taken him out to see the realities of war. It was past due he had this moment with his second son.
Unfortunately for Fugaku Sasuke does not let the reality of violence and death settle in his mind, steering him towards becoming an honourable shinobi. No, Sasuke sort of thinks it's bullshit and he's going to work to prove it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Justice by bojackandcrying (one-shot)
Summary:
All he needs, all he’s ever wanted. It was never to kill Itachi; no, it was for something else entirely. He was only foolish enough to believe that killing his brother would help him achieve what he had been yearning for – a word he hadn’t named, so fixated on a notion of retaliation.
But all he needs; all he’s ever wanted – never revenge or vengeance.
Justice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beloved by ismellitblue
Summary:
The members of Sasuke’s team make their way to his little hideout(It turns out a lot of shinobi need funeral services).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dead Man's Tale by ismellitblue (one-shot)
Summary:
Shinobi leave hidden villages in two ways. Through death or by defecting. Sasuke has already done the latter, so he chooses the former as a last resort.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Justice ≠ Peace by Aaonnah (one-shot)
Summary:
Sasuke sees two options. The first is to take it upon himself to be the final villain in this moronic, ill-thought-out war. The second is to run as far as he can, as fast as he can.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My truth by Taariesu (one-shot)
Summary:
Those who seek justice are bound to lose themselves in the merciless world of ninja. Sasuke is far beyond caring though.
This is about Sasuke's motives:
What's going through his mind after killing Danzou and laughing in Kakashi's face? Brooding in the dark, Sasuke waits for his new eyes to heal, thinking about his vengeance and the people that upset him most, each in their own way: Naruto, Kakashi, Konoha, and his own brother.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kunai, ( Treason ), and Plot by CutToTheEndOfTheShow (one-shot)
Summary:
In which it isn't Naruto who meets Sasuke at the Valley at the End, but Neji.
Or Rather:
What if Sasuke convinced his fellow Doujutsu user to run away from the village that slighted them?
Also Known As:
In which Sasuke and Neji recruit followers, change the world, and destroy the system
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A garden at the end of the world by swiperlupi (series)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assonance by Ovoriel
Summary:
There had been no word of Sasuke since the death of Uchiha Itachi. He hasn't come back to Konoha, hadn't made contact with anyone, and there hadn't been even the flimsiest rumor about the last descendant of the Uchiha clan after the day his vengeance finally found fulfillment.
It has been three years.
At first, when it became clear he wasn't just going to show up at his old village's gates like a lost stray, it was believed he had gone to Akatsuki. After all, one of their members had interfered in his retrieval, reaching him first. When Konoha's hunters arrived, both victor and casualty were already gone. It came as quite the shock to learn he hadn't. Even more that he had, in fact, refused. Just like everyone else, Akatsuki had no news of him. At all.
Now, everyone believed him dead.
Everyone but Naruto.
Or: The one where, when faced with two choices, Sasuke picks the third.
(this one can be put in the Taka tag too)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oaks May Fall by Cleothare
Summary:
A look into Sasuke's mind about leaving the village. Sasuke contemplates what drove him to leave Konoha, what set him on his path.
Set during time skip. Essentially a monologue.
(Can be put in the feelings tag)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
looking for forgiveness (i ran into your madness) by lesbiansasuke
Summary:
Nothing is ever what it seems. Sasuke Uchiha learns this the moment his small feet stumble into the Uchiha compound and he finds the bloody corpse of his parents. As his eyes lock with his brother’s, he’s trapped in a brutal genjutsu where he watches his clan die thousands and thousands of times. The scar sits heavy on his chest, throbs and aches as the years pass.
Stuck in a village rife with conspiracies and sinister plotting, he’ll soon realise that untangling himself from the thorns isn’t that hard—but doesn’t make it hurt any less. His goal of restoring justice to his clan becomes infinitely more complicated. Beyond the obscured horizon lies enemies far more dangerous than Itachi Uchiha and right in the midst of it all, a broken, irreparable system he’s forced to eventually question.
(tbh idk where to put this one but it’s a combination of both feelings and this)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team Taka!
uproot by Anonymous
Summary:
Orochimaru had always called him mercurial. Sasuke grimaces in mild disgust at the thought of the snake sannin. He shakes off the memory of cold hands on his skin to focus on the human floating in the tank before him.
Well, he could screw off with his thinly veiled insults. He wasn't alive, he didn't count.
OR: From four disjointed teenagers to the hunter team Hebi to the famous - or infamous - Taka, they've always had their ups and downs. But no one can say they regret it, in the end.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dandelions in the wind by Anonymous
Summary:
If you're aligned with Taka, you wear dandelions.
Uchiha Sasuke wears them threaded into his hair, splotches of yellow among black. Uzumaki Karin has them around her hands like bracelets.
Hoozuki Suigetsu wraps them around the hilt of his sword.
Sakaguchi Juugo keeps them woven into the neck of his cloak, distinctive flashes of gold.
To Taka, it's just flowers. It's just something cute they decided to do one day and stuck with out of habit. To everyone else it's a sign of resilience, of the hope they bring like rays of sunlight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
backburn by Anonymous
Summary:
"You have someone in mind?" Nagato asks, voice raspy, over the incessant droning of the radio. Konan nods.
"Sasori found this."
It's a feather emblem, clearly meant to be pinned somewhere, painted black and stitched from leather. Nagato doesn't speak but wheels forwards, eyes lighting up in interest. The feather can only mean one thing.
"Taka."
(Years after the death of Yahiko, former leader of the Akatsuki, daybreak arrives once more. This time, they won't be failing.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
where the lines blur by ncfan (one-shot)
Summary:
Suigetsu decides he cares too much.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
exactly none of the usual spiteful joy by suitablyskippy
Summary:
“I think it’s real,” Juugo says, once Sasuke shuts the door behind them. “I mean, if it isn’t, they must be… playing a joke on us, or something. And they’d have had to… talk to each other, for that. And agree with each other. And—”
Inside Karin and Suigetsu’s room, there’s the sound of something very heavy colliding with the wall. A moment later, there’s an explosion of screaming so loud that Juugo can’t imagine either of them actually understands a word the other’s saying.
“So I don’t think it’s a joke,” Juugo concludes, once the racket has died down a little.
(Karin's teeth didn't used to be this sharp. Her body didn't used to be this watery. This probably isn’t going to be resolved by the power of friendship.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team Taka Fucks It Up by selenophenol (one-shot)
Summary:
Team Taka gets lost, tries to find their leader, causes an international diplomatic incident, and joins Akatsuki. You know, the usual.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hold Up Your Head and Run by TakaGang
Summary:
Sasuke didn't think he'd survive his battle with Itachi, but he did. He didn't think he would survive his final battle with Naruto, but he did. Now he has to live---but not in Konoha.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fics that discuss feelings
Crows flying from empty trees by RiotStyle
Underneath it all, Sasuke is just a boy. He wants to be strong but it is hard to cut out your own heart.
Even when it’s gone, love leaves a scar.
AKA canon gave us all these beautiful complex characters and then forgot about their traumatic pasts as soon as they became powerful. Canon divergence with a focus on giving each individual the emotions and depth they deserve.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So that each March I may gleam into the leaf by Xarybde (series)
Summary:
In which Sasuke breaks a little sideways, and the world shifts accordingly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, Father Tell Me, Do We Get What We Deserve? by Vinauer
Summary:
Naruto only allowed himself a moment to take in the destruction and instead focused on the six figures a few dozen yards away. The dude with the mask and the freaky aloe guy were standing next to two people he didn’t know. They were in black cloaks but they didn’t have red clouds on them, so they weren’t Akatsuki. A little further away was another one of the black cloak guys and the man he recognized as Itachi’s partner.
He let out a breath of relief at seeing them. If they were still here, then maybe he wasn’t too late. For once, maybe he could get to Sasuke in time.
Or, team Hebi reacts faster when Sasuke and Itachi finish their fight. The Akatsuki don't get to take Sasuke right away; instead the leaf ninja get there and take him back to the village with Hebi in tow. This doesn't magically fix everything, but it does change a lot.
(this one can also be put in the Hebi/Taka category but as of now, we’re dealing with feelings)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can nobody hear me? (I’ve got a lot that’s on my mind) by mutemelody (one-shot)
Summary:
It isn’t like any of them actually care about him. If they did maybe they would have asked him once since that night if he was okay, rather than cleaned up the bodies and wiped away the blood and pretend like they didn’t leave him alone with the ghosts of the Uchiha and the memories of never being enough.
(Why does Naruto pretend to care so much?)
A look inside Sasuke's mind from before the Uchiha Massacre to the final fight at the Valley of the End.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
beyond grating bones by sieges (sns)
Summary:
Sasuke doesn't emerge from his fight with Itachi unscathed, or even alive. Revived as an Edo Tensei, he finds the second chance he never wanted, the answers he never got, and the peace he didn't know he needed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
aphelion by uchiwan
Summary:
you are a traumatized boy with a vague recollection of life before the annihilation, of a time when you could step out of your bedroom without seeing the ghosts of your family, their sightless faces turned towards you, accusing you, cursing you. You are : a boy stalked by death and hatred; hatred is the flame that burns in your veins, a hatred for your brother that threatens to consume you ( hate me, detest me, curse me and survive in an unsightly way. Run, run and cling to your pitiful life ).
You are Uchiha Sasuke and all you can see is a yawning abyss.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just One More Time by Whitespringswrites (one-shot)
Summary:
The day that broke Sasuke's entire life comes back to haunt him once again. As the grief threatens to swallow him whole once more, he wonders whether he ever has a chance to love once more.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
discendo docemus by llamallamaduck
Summary:
There are some things a seven-year-old psyche is not ready to endure. An S-ranked torture technique preformed by a traumatized thirteen-year-old is one of those things. Sasuke doesn’t enjoy hallucinating memories of his murdered family day in and day out, but he’s learned to be philosophical about such things. It’s everything else that’s the problem, really.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In The Name Of by QuoteMyFoot  (one-shot)
Summary:
Sasuke's whole world shatters when he is eight and a half years old, and he does not know how to fix it again.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An Ode to the Boy who Lives Among the Stars by starchilding (one-shot)
Summary:
Contrary to popular belief, Sasuke never held a grudge against Itachi.

“We're going to send someone back,” Naruto said with confidence, his voice holding strong at their incredulous looks. “Far enough back that we can change things.”
“Send someone back?” Kakashi asked, bewildered.
“Time travel?” Sasuke asked, just as shocked. Surely that hadn't been what Naruto meant?
Naruto nodded enthusiastically, a blinding grin gracing his face, making it into a once more familiar sight. “Time travel!”

The affirmation that "Team Taka isn't as good as Team 7 because it lacked bonding moments" misses both canonical support (Sasuke literally awoke one of his MS to save Karin) and critical skills.
We are speaking here about military states that, since chapter three, admit to designing teams with specific members in order to exploit at maximum the shinobi's capacities, guaranteeing a good enough success rate during missions. Whether these groups form some sort of friendship outside their training and/or duties isn't even remotely important because, well, why would it be? These are disposable people who are taught the importance of the "greater good", which means making difficult decisions -if a member of a cell isn't ready to die or sacrifice someone's life in order to accomplish a victory it gets ostracized (Sakumo).
The notion of friendship often presented in the manga (politically) differs entirely from the Western conception of the term, as the friendship that Hiruzen speaks about is about preserving the balance between the villages at the risk of people’s lives.
The "friendship" inside a military state that has no issue in sacrificing people's lives in order to grow politically and economically can't be about caring for others more than anything as it contradicts and threatens Konoha's nationalistic mindset where the village's prosperity and safety have to come first. The Uchiha cared more for those dear to them than the village itself (and this is to be discussed in a deeper manner as the Uchiha were against Konoha's discrimination, not against the Shinobi system in itself), which is why it's surprising how many people that claim to care for others are so fervently haters of a clan that did exactly what they say to want on a character/team.
Furthermore, Sasuke's "bonding moments" with Team 7 are unimportant, as he cares not for a single member inside that cell (at least on the level this people claim he does) but Naruto (and that just after the Kage Summit Arc), so why is that friendship highlighted to unrealistic proportions whilst Sasuke specifically choosing Team Taka as support to perform his most important wish (kill Itachi first, bring the shinobi system down later) is brushed aside? Is it because this fandom can't fathom Naruto the great being insignificant in Sasuke's development? Is it because Sakura's relevance inside Sasuke's thoughts and/or actions is nill? I admit that the scale is utterly inclined in his favor as his presence is pretty much the entire reason for the main characters to both exist and develop; which is why it's understandable the need for that portion of the fandom to create ways in which both Sakura and Naruto actually matter -but pretending that such self-fabricated relevance is canonical and Team 7 blurs Team Taka's actual canonical impact on Sasuke's behavior is embarrassing.
Edit to add: Besides the aforementioned reasons, think for a moment everything in common this group possess in order to understand how each member is able to relate to one another. Karin, Suigetsu and Juugo are the last members of each of their clan as is their leader (Karin is the last pure blooded Uzumaki and Sasuke is the last Uchiha as he's to kill Itachi and doesn't know about Madara and Obito, who die later on regardless), the four of them were/are persecuted due to their biological gifts (an aspect of their nature they have no control of), and them four were, also, experimented on by Orochimaru.
I don't think anyone else could even start to comprehend Sasuke in the same manner as they do, and it's incredible how most of the fandom highlight Naruto's capacity to understand Sasuke's loneliness yet disregard Team Taka when they not only can envision it on a similar degree but also are able to grasp the idea of their entire kin being massacred.
And, to add one more thing, Sasuke considering Team Taka members "disposable" as some people point out (when he wounded Karin in order ro kill Danzo), is just another layer on his tremendous commitment to reach his goal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He stated plenty of times how sacrificing his life was something he was willing to do should that help him achieve his wish, and the lives of those close to him are no different (he wounded Karin because it helped him reach Danzo, he tried to kill Sakura about five times because she was trying to interfere, how is him attacking Sakura not on the same level of disinterest for her as him attacking Karin?).
They try to build a case for their arguments by stating over and over how Naruto and Sakura have Sasuke's best interest at heart, despite them constantly ignoring Sasuke's requests (whilst Team Taka respected and followed his command) and forcing what they consider is the best for a teammate they knew for barely a year.
Naruto's sole purpose is to bring Sasuke back to Konoha in order to get back his rival and win his acknowledgement, while Sakura's reason is to have her crush close to her as to feel validated as a woman and a kunoichi and to gain sexual favors of him.
They're both so incredibly selfish in this regard it's outstanding that the fandom, who's so adamant about pointing out toxic relationships (platonic or romantical), isn't able to see this when the one being attacked is a man they personally dislike. If, for some reason, they're willing to see some of these flaws in the aforementioned characters, then they shift the blame to Kishimoto, yet they don't do the same for Sasuke nor any Taka Member, who they judge as living individuals just as suddenly as they're willing to claim Sakura and Naruto as fictional products.
