THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR OCS

If you’re like me and you like to play around with your OCs a lot, here’s some things you can do with them!

ART & CRAFTS

Put your OCs in character scenario memes! Here’s some I found on Deviantart.

Do an art trade where you draw someone’s OC and they draw yours!

Use those "Draw The Squad" templates and draw your OCs.

Crochet/knit/sew/etc. a plushie of your OC.

You can also make a paper doll! You can find tons of tutorials on youtube.

You can also make a figure of them out of something like clay, cardboard, or another material.

You can build them out of Legos!

You can also create a hand or finger puppet of them.

Draw a comic featuring your characters!

Create an animation of your character.

Draw your characters as animals!

Create pixel art of your OC! Maybe even make it look like video game sprites.

Draw your characters as playing card designs.

Draw your characters as tarot card designs (Suggested by @ultragirl-parsley)

Create a coloring book full of your OCs!

Create a large cardboard cutout of your character. There are tons of tutorials online!

Put your OCs as designs on cookies, cakes, etc. (I kinda want to do this one but I know it won't turn out well for me 'cuz I suck at handling food T_T)

Design your OC's home.

Make a board game about your OCs and their story

Make Minecraft skins of your characters

INTERNET

Make your OCs in picrew or other dress-up things!

Create a character playlist on Spotify or other music site!

Create a Pinterest board with inspo for your OCs! Maybe outfits they’d wear, a moodboard, etc.

Reblog those “tag your OC as” blogs! They usually have a prompt and you can reblog it and tag which OC it describes. Here’s a few blogs which do this: Tag Your OC on Tumblr develop your oc on Tumblr Daily Asks for your OC (tumblr.com)

Take quizzes as your OC! You can find some on Quotev or IDRLabs.

Make a roleplay account as your OC.

Create a quiz on Quotev about your OC. Maybe something like, "Would my OC like you," "How similar are you to my OC," etc.

Put your OCs in the incorrect quote generator.

Find OC questionnaires and templates online.

Create a page on your Tumblr just for your OC! You can include things like a character sheet, general facts, your posts about them, etc.

WRITING

Do character exercises for them! You can find a lot of these on the internet, but here’s an example.

Write from your OC's perspective. It'll help you understand them better!

Create a list of media they enjoy. Maybe movies, video games, songs, etc.

Write a song (or just lyrics) about your OC or parts of their story.

Write a random story about their childhood!

Create an in-universe news report from your OC's world.

Write a poem about your OC.

OTHER

Put your OCs in character alignment memes! Here’s some from a search on Pinterest.

Create voice headcanons for your OCs. Here’s an example of Vivziepop’s for Hazbin Hotel..

Play as your character in video games! Like, maybe design your character in Miitopia or Sims.

Do some theatre improv games as if you were your OC.

Edit your OC on to pride flags.

Also, you could maybe make those like, Tiktok edits of your OC? (Y'know the ones I'm talking about?)

Create an AU version of your characters! (I’ll create a list of AU ideas soon! :D)

Have your characters solve the trolley problem and other moral conudruums.

Cosplay as your OC!

Create ship names for your characters!

You can also find baby names that your OC might like or something.

Create a visual novel/dating sim in Google Slides (or if you can code, you can do it like that!)

Create a crossword/word search relating to your characters and story.

Answer "Would you rather?"questions as your character.

Find poems that remind you of your OC.

Make family trees.

I am an OoT Link edgelord and have been since early 2017. So, in September of that year, when an artist by the name of jojo56830 puts out a lineup of nine different Links and the Hero of Time is there – the oldest, no eye, Hero’s Shade armor? Hi! I joined this fandom really recent but i’ve always seen LU stuff on pinterest and elsewhere. Only recently have i actually took the time to understand the fandom and get back into LOZ stuff and i adore the characters and story! ROLEPLAY PARTNER SUMMON

You can call me Kotte. I am twenty at the moment and use any pronouns. I'm from Australia, on the AEST timezone.

I've been role-playing since I was about fourteen. Originally on Quotev, and now mostly on discord! I write fairly descriptive replies varying anywhere from 500 to 1500 words, starters especially tend to be long. I love pulling writing ticks and styles from my favorite authors (Tolkien, George RR Martin, Terry Pratchett.) I'm more then happy to offer up a few examples of my role-play replies when asked!

I heavily prefer oc x canon and doubling up and honestly learning about other people's ocs is one of my favorite parts of role-playing! I adore headcanoning, exchanging aesthetics and playlists. I also like to draw others ocs!

I have a habit of using male x male for my ocs, just thought I would include this as I know some people are against roleplaying those pairings. I'm totally fine with any gender pairing! I'm happy to include nsfw topics and would prefer if the people I roleplay with are 18+.

At the moment I am most interested in a roleplay of The Hobbit !

However, I also am always open for Game of Thrones , Lord of the Rings , House of the Dragon , and Skyrim.

♢  —     BEST EXPERIENCE: Oh that’s really hard. A lot really would just be the friends I’ve made. Some fandoms are super welcoming and I did really enjoy that. Genshin has been very welcoming to me too which i was pleasantly surprised and thankful for.

♢  —     RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS:    Uhh. I guess trying to make my muse soft/force them out of character? I write a lot of villains and I stay very true to their nature as best i can. Or forcing headcanons onto my muse without asking/discussing it with me. Other than that I really can’t think of any? 

♢  —     FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT:   I love angst, although Dottore isn’t very easily a muse for that, or any of these three really. For him its a lot more dark themes. But! In regards, I do love angst. Fluff can be nice but i don’t feel I’m very good at it except for a very, very rare occasion. And smut can be fun to write honestly, because there can be a lot more than just the physical acts, there can be a lot of room to explore thoughts and characters understanding & exploring of each other/themselves in a way.

♢  —     PLOTS OR MEMES:  Honestly I tend to be more memes, especially to first establish some writing, but I do enjoy plotting as well! So long as its not like every single tiny detail of the thread, but overal dynamics or thread ideas & exploration im down for!!

♢  —     LONG OR SHORT REPLIES:   I do both honestly. It just depends a little bit. Short ones are nice for when i have less energy but I also really enjoy long ones! Especially because Dottore rambles when science comes up. So both, both are good. 

♢  —     BEST TIME TO WRITE:   Whenever honestly. I am :) unfortunately still trying to find a job so other than errands and chores, I tend to have a lot of free time usually.

♢  —     ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): UH. Maybe on SOME things? I was a biology major and often was the person to toss scientific ideas to my teachers that would stump them (and one had a doctorate so im rather proud of that- ironically it did have to do with cell regeneration) ended up switching my bachelor degree but I am contemplating going back for a Masters in Biology (Ecology and Evolution specifically). BUT I HAVE MORALS UNLIKE DOTTORE. Uhh. I do tend to lean more logical than emotional most of the time, do end to stay in certain roooms/spots. And i love questioning/exploring/learning new things. But not to his degree. There’s probably a few more things but so some things yes but others drastically no.

For context- this whole polycule thing started because a friend and I had a creepypasta roleplay that went super out of control so a lot of the character's dynamics are based on headcanons + backstory that would take a long time to explain (that's why there's things like, u know, Jane and Zalgo have a child. That storyline was wild). Also some dynamics are missing simply because the chart was becoming to difficult to manage (for example Jeff and Ben had a very interesting frenemies relationship but I couldn't fit those arrows so I gave up).

ALSO the Slenderman taking the kids thing is a joke. The TL;DR is that Zalgo has a bunch of children with different women/creatures for demon purposes™ that he doesn't take care of and many of them end up in the creepypasta mansion, and Slender is the one who gets stuck looking after them.

oh my god you were NOT kidding with the rarepair polycule and i'm very glad you weren't i spent so long zooming in and scrolling through the different branches of this when u first sent it (and again as i'm typing this) i used to roleplay a Lot so the fact that this was borne from a very far Escalated roleplay makes total sense to me. when i roleplayed on quotev typically people would base their account around a character (their "muse") and would rp as that muse so new rarepairs were just Created whenever a roleplay turned romantic .. lots of eyeless jack x every creepypasta man in existence in my case bc that was always my account's muse LOL

the slenderman having to take in zalgo's children thing is so funny to me i'm just imagining slender opening the door to a sopping wet demon child in a box on the front steps and being like "god damn it not another one"

think my favorite in this whole chart is the queerplatonic toby/nina that is SO real and true. my toby and nina do not know each other in my universe (why i Desperately need to make a slendermansion/co-habiting au) but they would absolutely be the best of qpps

i have been roleplaying for the best part of ten years and am very descriptive, i have no real limit on line amounts and have done over 200 per character before. i am heavily into plotting and headcanoning and would prefer my partner to be too.

I have dozens of Ocs that never make it to tumblr! I can’t help myself from making more every time I get an idea in my head. 

I’m a big fan of Chinese and Korean historical dramas! I just adore how much work gets put into the scenery, the stories, and just.. the atmosphere of them really gets my heart racing! I’d love to visit the set of a Korean or Chinese drama. 

Music and dancing has always been a big part of my life. From a young age, I dabbled in a little dance but mainly did chorus, and when I have free time I mostly just listen to music and daydream about the stories I want to write.

I’ve been roleplaying since I first began middle school and I started out on Quotev before migrating to tumblr. My first official muse was Paintra, a boss from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and after the Kirby RPC kind of fizzled out, I went on to do SCP, League, and DBD muses, mostly as my own OCs. I consider myself good, or at least, passable at rp, but the icons and pretty graphics are something I have no experience in. I’d love to learn how to make those, though!

Although I started out with a canon character, I quickly moved on to making my own characters in lieu of canon muses. Really, I liked the fact that I could do basically whatever I wanted with an OC, develop them in ways I want as well, and there’s less pressure to be accurate to the character... but playing as ocs can be a little nerve wracking just because the standards for them are really high. I love writing them, though, and I often have to stop myself from making TOO many ocs for a series I like. I have many ocs that aren’t public!

———  FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡    

FLUFF:  I love love love fluff,,, I usually make my muses suffer, just in backstory alone, and fluff makes me happy for them and just warms my heart :) 

ANGST: Angst is BIG for me, I adore angst a little more than I do fluff just because I LOVE drama and big character arcs and whatnot

SMUT: Honestly? I’ve read a lot of smut in my day, and enjoy thinking about spicy possibilities and headcanons, but my confidence in actually writing it is.... rocky, at best. I usually only feel comfortable chatting about shipping and smut related things with my ship partner rather than rping it out! Being ‘horny on main’ is WAAAY to anxiety inducing, lol

PLOT / MEMES: Both! I get a little anxious to send in memes, but I’ve been pushing myself to be more confident and reach out more. I like to plot just so I know what I’m doing and what I’m writing about, but memes can be fun just because of the spontaneity!

UHHH i wrote a lot of characters short - term on quotev , since back in the day ( 2011 ) the norm on that site was that you make your own character , and then you also write your rp partners characters "crush" , so you'd be having two rps at the same time really . i had some rp accounts on instagram for elsa and anna ... but my first long term muse was probably vanellope von schweetz ! i wrote her for a very long time , on instagram and tumblr , and it's a shame the fandom was a hotspot for weirdos . i'd love to pick her up again one day because she's still one of my favourite characters ever .

🦄 the best thing that's happened to me in roleplay this year

His Dark Materials AU

First, their daemons

Silver’s settles as a wolf, obviously. It symbolises sharp intelligence, a deep connection with instincts, an appetite for freedom, loyalty, courage and strength. His name is Astrophel, which means star-lover. 

Sans’s is an owl. This may be surprising for this specific character, but Owls represent death, intelligence (which Sans has loads of), endurance,  good judgment and knowledge, They also associated with the night and the moon, and, because he ends up with Silver, I thought it was fitting. Her name is Astraea, which means justice.

Frisk’s is a panda, which symbolises determination, peace, good luck and the value of patience. His name is Kazuya, which means peace and harmony.

His most "embarrassing" secret? He wants to see snow.

He was born and raised in California so he's never seen snow in real life and he desperately wants to. Straight up dreams of it

It'd be like one of those viral husky videos where he's sitting in the middle of a blizzard, caked in ice and when you ask if he wants to come inside he'd just be like "nah"

He'd never admit it though. He thinks it sounds childish.

He obviously talks a big game and acts tough but if there's one thing that'll make him scream like a little girl it's gonna be rats

oh, yeah! i think it’s happened a few times with my different close friends. we have those moments were it’s like! holy shit, i was thinking the exact same thing!

a friend i met through quotev roleplaying (she doesn’t follow me on tumblr but i love u jordyn) is the one i always share like. character stuff with. we gush about scenarios and headcanons between our ocs. it’s wonderful.
