This, and much more, is FORSAKEN, an upcoming 18+ only, Premium Jcink, original dark medieval fantasy role-play featuring supernatural species. Play as humans, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, or fae in an unforgiving world where peril lingers behind every corner.

Canyon River Weyr is Under Construction!

What does this mean? It means the forum is under going an in depth revamping and is under extended hiatus.

What is being changed?

Site Art. All of the on site art is being updated to a new style. Including, but not limited to, new unique bases for dragons, whers, flits, and other various pets, icons, banners, and maps.

Rules. Onsite rules are being rewritten and updated to better reflect our future goals for the site.

Lore. In the same vein as the rule rewrite the on site lore is being expanded to better show the region, flora, fauna, and history in the hopes of creating a better more in depth and colorful world for players to engage in and enjoy.

What does this mean for right now?

The site is still open for people to join! Players can still create characters, engage in roleplay, and interact with each other both on site and in our Discord.

However, until the revamp is fully completed, large events will be very limited.

The existence of the Ascendancy program is a little-known secret, deliberately hidden from most and thought to be a thing of the past by others. In truth, it has come and gone and continues in a form today. Some of its graduates (known as Ascenders) operate across the continent, reporting back to leadership at Eldercraft Academy. Others continue the initiative at Eldercraft, and a rare few have left with the freedom to pursue paths other than those they were trained to travel. . . with watchful eyes on them. The History of The Ascendancy Program Though the methods and leadership have evolved over time, the goal has largely remained the same: Prepare some of Prophka's finest young mages to survive the ever-changing world at any cost, with political prowess and exceptional spell-casting designed to advance the cause of mages above all others. Graduates are carefully trained weapons, skilled at offensive and defensive spells and otherwise educated to understand, manipulate, and potentially neutralize any threat. They are political weapons, answering to the program's leadership above any reigning monarch, local nobility, or other institution. . .

Domhan na Bhfear—the World of Men, as translated from the Old Tongue. It is a world of great opportunities and equal perils, where people stand a chance to become heroes as much as they risk premature death. Wild beasts and dark creatures of all kinds roam the lands, from mighty dragons soaring in the sky to shambling undead haunting sinister graveyards. Despite the dangers, humans have spread to and dominated every corner of the known world. Five illustrious realms control most of the land across two large continents, their glory and power a testament to human resilience and ingenuity.

Among the many humans inhabiting Domhan na Bhefear hide creatures of supernatural origins: the Unnaturals. The glacial vampires, the Nightwalkers; masters of the undead and of manipulation. Rivaling them are creatures whose combat prowess and raw strength are unmatched among the Unnaturals; the fierce werewolves and their packs. The Shapeshifters, also known as Spirit Morphers, are able to transmute their human form into the form of their chosen spiritual animals. And last but not least, the cunning Fae and their courts, who prey on the dreams and nightmares of humans to fuel their magical talents.

No matter the astonishing skills and powers commanded by the Unnaturals, humans vastly outnumber them and remain the true overlords of Domhan na Bhfear. Men and women blessed with magical abilities train at the renowned Arcane Chantry, the powerful guild of mages with a presence in all nations of the world. Similarly, the Order of the Blade, the guild of monster slayers for hire, maintains chapters in every major city of the world. Blade Dancers, as their highly trained warriors are called, possess enhanced physical traits thanks to secret alchemical formulae and a much darker secret they carefully conceal.

Individuals born with command of Eldritch magic drawn from Hell, the infernal plane inhabited by demons, are known as Witches and Warlocks. Unlike mages, who are attuned to the Source (the primordial energy that shaped the world) and require studying and preparation to cast spells, witches and warlocks can work their magic instinctively. Not all of them serve evil forces; many good-natured witches and warlocks are known to act as guardians against the Unnaturals, especially the vampires.

The year is 220 of the Third Era (3E 220) and not even the combined knowledge and abilities of humans and Unnaturals could have predicted the mysterious phenomenon threatening Domhan na Bhfear. An eerie, toxic fog of unknown origins is spreading across the world, leaving no kingdom untouched. The massive veil spanning the land has been named The Shroud by the Arcane Chantry. Numerous scholars and mages have been busy attempting to study the Shroud, believing it to be a magical manifestation. Thus far, nobody has been able to offer a conclusive report and solutions on how to permanently disperse the Shroud. The fog continues to spread, threatening to engulf the entire world. People lost in the mist eventually die due to the poisonous air lingering in the Shroud. Thankfully, the Arcane Chantry has been able to slow down its advance through the use of magical wards.

Despite the danger, it is possible to mount expeditions into the Shroud. Those who command magical abilities can create protective bubbles to shield against the noxious breeze of the fog. But those who have ventured into the Shroud have reported spotting horrifying, never-before-seen creatures that look like large insects with armor-like shells. These monsters have been named Crawlers and have further mystified scholars studying the Shroud. Even more alarming are reports of people coming back from daring excursions into the Shroud in a different state. Some individuals who have spent time in the fog are reported to have become silent and emotionless—as if their personalities and life force were taken away all of a sudden. Studies conducted on these victims have been inconclusive thus far. 

With the Shroud claiming more and more territory, countless citizens in all realms are fleeing from their homes. Refugees have been streaming into all the capital cities, initiating a true state of emergency. A meeting between the sovereigns of each nation will soon take place in Develtos, the capital of the Thiber Imperium. With the Shroud unrelenting in its advance, old rivalries and bad blood between the royal houses must be put aside to ensure the survival of the human race. Many accusations have been leveled at them, but the Unnaturals claim no responsibility for the Shroud and are as affected as the humans, Even the undead vampires, whose unholy blood is said to leak out of their dead bodies the more time they spend in the Shroud. Whether the Unnaturals will attempt to aid the humans or not remains to be seen. So far, the profound hatred of humans for all Unnaturals has deterred any form of contact and collaboration.

One thing is certain: the Shroud must be understood and stopped before it's too late. Domhan na Bhfear needs brave individuals to step up and resolve this crisis, one way or the other. Will you be among them? Or will you profit from the situation? Choices and consequences are yours to be established in the world of FORSAKEN.
