Sickness and soup
Advent day 2: “Soup delivery service!”
Paring: Scarlett Johansson x reader
Notes: Day 2!! I didn’t realise how short this as until I moved it over to tumblr 😭
Tumblr media
"Soup delivery service!" You call as you step into the familiar apartment, closing and locking the door behind you before kicking off your shoes and shrugging off your jacket.
It was super cold today, and it felt as though the chill had seeped into your bones. Wiggling your fingers in a futile attempt at getting some warmth into them, you carry the soup you'd brought home with you through to Scarlett's bedroom. Pushing open the door, the first thing you were greeted with was a small lump beneath the covers.
The poor thing was currently sick with a pretty heavy cold, one of the worst she'd had in a long time.
The room was dimly lit, your eyes needing a few moments to adjust before you ventured any further into the room. Knowing your luck, you'd end up walking into something and injuring yourself and that was the last thing either of you needed.
When you get close enough to the bed, you see that Scarlett was still, in fact, asleep. She was facing you, blankets pulled up to her chin and her nose tinged red. Soft snores escape her parted lips as she breaths, not an unusual occurrence when sick, but rare enough that it had your heart melting a little.
Setting the soup down onto her nightstand, you carefully perch yourself on the bed next to her and lean down to press your lips in a tender kiss against her warm forehead.
"What?" She grumbles in confusion, eyes flicking open as she turns onto her back and lets out a muffled cough against the palm of her hand.
You rest a hand on her chest, "It's just me baby. I got you soup." You tell her, and Scarlett lets out a heavy sigh as her eyes flicker over to meet your own. Green irises were dull and tired, but they don't fail to light up at the sight of you staring down at her which had your heart melting all the more.
"Chicken soup?" She rasps out, taking your hand and allowing you to ease her up into a sitting position.
You nod with a smile, making sure the blankets were snug around her waist before picking up said soup and pulling off the top. "Of course chicken soup. It's your favourite is it not?" You question playfully as you grab the spoon, earning yourself a soft raspy chuckle along with an eye roll.
Filling the spoon up, you offer it out to Scarlett on the off change she'd let you feed her. And her mouth parts without hesitation, lips closing around the spoon allowing the contents to fall into her mouth.
"Good?" You question as you refill the spoon, and Scarlett nods with a soft sigh.
"I mean," she starts as she swallows, sniffling and wiping her nose with the back of her hand. You internally cringe at the sight and just about refrain from reaching for a tissue. She'd never been too graceful when sick. "I can't taste shit. But I assume it tastes good." She shrug, and you chuckle slightly as you feed her a second spoonful.
When she sniffles again, you give in to the urge and grab a tissue from the box on the nightstand before handing it over. She takes it without complaint, blowing her nose heavily yet as she pulls it away, it was clear to see that her congestion still remains.
Understanding now, you say nothing more about the issue and simply set the bowl of soup onto her lap.
Scarlett looks at you with furrowed eyebrows and a pout. You gently kiss it away, sickness be damned.
"I'm going to go run you a bath, okay?" You reach out and cup her cheek, thumb grazing across warm skin.
Scarlett's hand comes to gently rest on top of your own, "You too?" She pleads, and you were quick to nod your head as you place a gentle peck to the tip of her red nose.
"Of course, baby."

╚════════ ⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋆✦⋆⋇ ════════╝
Walking down the red carpet was fun. The first few times Scarlett had taken you down you were a nervous wreck, constantly worrying about looking perfect for the critical public eye but the more you attended, the more you relaxed, and you soon began to be able to focus more on the event itself and enjoy your time there.
This was no different. The pair of you had been invited to attend the premiere of Scarlett’s latest movie and not only was the premiere being hosted in a gorgeous Italian city but the carpet itself was stunning. Rows of thick, luxurious flowers lined the panels and beautiful boutiques were displayed throughout the entire event.
Flowers had an important role in the film, so it made sense for them to be the focal point of the carpet. However, you just wished you’d thought a little more deeply about it before heading off to walk down the carpet.
“Ready, my love?” Scarlett had asked, clutching your hand as the two of you stepped onto the silky red floor.
You nodded, readying yourself for the onslaught of cameras and questions, “As I’ll ever be.”
As the pair of you stepped onto the carpet, the flashes of cameras blinded you momentarily. You smiled and waved at the cheering crowd, trying to exude confidence and poise. Scarlett looked stunning as always, gracefully moving alongside you, but you couldn't help but notice a subtle change in her demeanour. Her smile seemed a bit strained, and she was constantly rubbing her nose.
After a few steps, Scarlett sniffled and let out a soft sneeze, trying to stifle it discreetly. You glanced at her with concern, and she managed a weak smile. "Is it obvious...?" she whispered; her voice tinged with embarrassment.
"Bless you... Bless you! Are you okay—bless you again!" The reporters and photographers nearby started to take notice of Scarlett's sneezing fit. They weren't used to seeing her like this on the red carpet, and a flurry of questions followed. "Are these flowers bothering you?" one reporter asked, pointing towards the thick floral arrangements lining the carpet.
You knew Scarlett had never mentioned any allergies before, but it was clear that the beautiful flowers were causing her discomfort. "Yes, I think she might be allergic," you replied, gently patting Scarlett's back as she tried to regain her composure.
"I'm so sorry," the event organiser said, coming over to you both with concern. "We had no idea. We can move you both inside if you'd like."
Scarlett managed another smile, though her eyes were a bit watery. "No, it's okay. We'll just walk through quickly," she said, not wanting to make a scene or disrupt the premiere's arrangements.
You continued walking, with Scarlett trying to maintain her grace while fighting off the sneezes and sniffles. The photographers were still snapping away, capturing every moment of the unexpected drama on the red carpet. Despite the situation, you couldn't help but admire Scarlett's professionalism and her dedication to the event.
Finally reaching the end of the carpet, Scarlett let out a relieved sigh. "I made it," she said with a hint of humour, though her eyes were still a bit teary.
"You did amazing," you assured her, giving her a gentle hug. "But let's find a place with fresh air. I don't want you to suffer through the rest of the event."
Together, you moved away from the flowers and found a more open area with a view of the stunning Italian city. Scarlett's sneezing subsided, and she took a deep breath, appreciating the relief.
"I should have warned them about my allergies," Scarlett said, chuckling softly. "But you know what? It was still worth it. This premiere is special, and I'm so glad you're here with me."
"I wouldn't have missed it for the world," you replied, smiling warmly. "Let's focus on enjoying the rest of the event without any other distractions."
And so, hand in hand, you both ventured into the premiere, leaving behind the flower-filled red carpet. The movie was a masterpiece, and the audience's applause filled the air with enthusiasm and admiration. As you settled into your seats, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the experiences you shared with Scarlett, both the glamorous and the unexpected, knowing that every moment was precious and unforgettable.

I will always protect you
Scarlett Johansson x FemBodyguardReader
Summary: You’ve been Scarlett’s bodyguard for years already but what do you do if you catch more than just feelings for her when you take care of her....
word count: 5138 words
Warnings: Vomiting, sickness (idk if it needs a warning but here you go), some rude as guy, lmk if I need to add something else
A/N: I’m back, hopefully for good now and please just ignore the crappy titel and summary, I couldnt come up with something better for the life of me. This is basically just pure fluff and comfort and some protective R. Just a quick disclaimer, I don’t have anything against Adam Driver, but since I needed a “bad guy” and watched marriage story before it just turned out to be him... I hope you enjoy my longest fic yet and please don't to post it anywhere else or share it as your own.
Tumblr media
It was 5.30 am as your alarm went off and you got up to get ready. Being Scarlett’s bodyguard for over two years already getting ready was well practiced. Throwing on your black tight-fitting suit with a black shirt and black sneakers you quickly grabbed a banana and coffee to go and made your way to Scarletts apartment. You’d need to get some food at some point that day anyway. It was Comic Con and it would be a long day, that was one thing you were sure of already but you loved your job and wouldn’t change it for the world.
As Scarlett opened the door to her apartment you could already tell that something was up. She looked tired and it didn’t seem like she was feeling her best. “Good morning Y/N, come in. I just need to grab a few more things”, she said smiling softly and you went in. Walking in you closed the door behind you and just watched her as she quickly gathered the rest of her stuff around her apartment. “You ready for Comic Con?”, you asked smiling, knowing she loved it to interact with her fans. Scarlett looked up to see you smiling at her. The smile that spread across her face was gorgeous. “Yeah, I hope it’s gonna be good”, she said and threw her phone into her bag. You could hear that her voice was slightly raspier than normal so you walked up to her to take one of her bags as you asked gently “You feeling alright?”.
Scarlett just smiled softly looking up at you before she answered “Yeah I’m okay. Just a bit of a rough night that’s all”. Nodding you took her one bag before walking to the door already. To say you were not convinced would be the least but you also knew Scarlett long enough to know that she would work until she couldn’t anymore. You’d just have to keep an eye on her today. Holding the door open for her you get down to the car and drive to the location. The drive you spend on some small talk while also studying her a bit more up close.
Once you arrived at the convention center you opened the door for her and start to make your way inside. At the entrance the head of security already waits for you. Being ex-military you’d like to be informed of the security on-side, however instead of greeting you he almost immediately turned to you and asked “Who are you?”. “I’m her bodyguard”, you said and he just gave you a judgmental once over. “We have enough security personnel here, you’re not needed here”, he just said thinking the conversation is over but not with you. “Excuse me? You have one of the most famous actors here. Who are you to judge if there is enough security personnel she is comfortable with here?”, you started discussing and before he even could say another word Scarlett said “She goes where I go, so either you let her in or I leave as well. End of discussion”. Giving you another once over he just nodded and let the both of you in. “Unbelievable”, Scarlett said and you couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle. She looked up at that and gave you a small tired smile. She was not in the mood to mess with today.
Taking her other bag as well she just smiled at you thankfully. On the drive you could already tell she was coming down with a cold or something. Especially because of the fact that she barely touched her coffee. So once she was in hair in make up you quickly checked out the location and also made your way down the street to pick up a few things for her. After picking up some tissues, ibuprofen and some tea you walked back to join her.
Walking back into the room her eyes find yours as a small smiled played on her lips. “Where have you been?”, she asked softly and you just walked up to her saying “Checked out the location and got you this”. Handing her the tea she smelled it and smiled realizing it was her favorite. “Thank you”, she said and you smiled at her nodding, giving her shoulder a soft squeeze.
The day starts and you’re always close but never in the way. As she gets up on the stage for the panel you sit down on a chair next to the bodyguards of her colleagues, already knowing a few of them from different sets they all worked on together and kept a close eye on her. “Hey Y/N you wanna come get some food?”, asked Brian and you quickly looked at him before politely declining “No thank you, I’m good here”. He smiled and they went away as you concentrated on Scarlett again. She catches your eyes a few times, always giving you a small smile but you could read her body language like no other. You knew she was starting to get a headache and held back a few coughs.
Once they were done and Scarlett came down from stage, she walked up to you and you both make your way into their break room. All of them could get a few minutes of rest before the meet and greet would start. Grabbing a bottle of water you got the ibuprofen out of your pocket and handed it to her, saying “Here for your headache”. Scarlett looked at you smiling and answered “You always surprise me with how well you can read me”. “That’s part of my job”, you winked and she quickly took an ibuprofen before handing the pack back to you. After thanking you she rejoined the cast and you stayed at the side until it was time to leave.
After a bit of a discussion once again you stayed close to Scarlett during the meet and greet and provided her with tissues and hand sanitizer whenever she got hit with a sneeze. You could see her energy level draining with every minute but she would never let it show in front of her fans.
By the end of the day you were starting to get a bit tired as well but Scarlett was exhausted and the way her cheeks were slightly flushed probably also a bit feverish. As everyone got ready to leave, you made sure to gather everything for her while she sat on the couch with her eyes closed, clearly exhausted. You couldn’t help but smile at that. She looked adorable even though it hurt you that she was sick.
“Come on Scar, let’s get you home”, you said softly as you gently shook her awake. She looked up and smiles softly as she saw both of her bags on your shoulder already. Pulling her up with your free hand you gently placed your hand on the small of her back while you guided her to the car. Once you were both inside the driver started to drive you to Scarlett’s apartment. As she rested against your side you could feel the heat radiating off of her. You were concerned but you didn’t want to disturb the peaceful silence so you just wrapped your arm around her as she shivered slightly. Taking your jacket off you quickly laid it around her to keep her warm. She wanted to say something but you just whispered “Shh I got you”. She smiled and cuddled deeper into you before falling asleep for the rest of the drive.
Once at her apartment you gently shook her awake, guided her up and helped her into her bedroom. You knew where everything was since you brought a drunk Scarlett to bed a few times before already, that only showing how comfortable she was with you. You got her a pair of Pj’s and laid it next to her as she woke up a bit more. “Are you gonna be okay on your own?”, you asked softly and she smiled softly before saying “Yeah, I’m a big girl Y/N”. Smiling you answered “I know, but promise to call me if you need something okay? You know I’m only one call away”. “I know, thank you”, she said blushing softly. “Get some rest and get well”, you said gently and she nodded. After one last smile you made your way to your car and drove back home as well. After all it was an exhausting day for you too.
Thankfully the next few days Scarlett had no appointments so she could rest up and recover from the cold. She send you another message that night, telling you how thankful she was for having you around and thanking you again for helping her. She also kept you updated the next few days how she’s doing and thankfully as you had to fly to LA 4 days later for the SAG awards she was feeling fine again.
There was no one who could jump in for you and you would never leave Scarlett with someone she didn’t know. So you peeled your aching body out of bed and took a shower to feel a bit more human. While you made sure to fix your make up and hair you also mentally prepared to somehow get through this day.
You were feeling fine the whole way to LA including that evening, so you were even more surprised as you woke up in the middle of the night feeling like crap. It started with chills but soon turned into a very upset stomach and you spending most of the night in the bathroom getting rid of what felt like everything you’ve ever eaten. You went to bed again at around 4, knowing that your alarm would go off again in not even two hours. Curling up into a ball you fell back sleep trying to get the last bit of rest before another exhausting day.
You fell asleep pretty quickly thankfully the exhaustion just taking over but you could barely get some rest before your alarm woke you up again. Turning off the alarm you just laid on your back for a second, collecting yourself. You were pretty sure you caught whatever Scarlett had the week before and if she had a similar night to you it also explained why she wouldn’t drink her coffee. Thankfully you weren’t feeling like you were going to be sick again, not that there was anything left anyway, but your stomach still felt a bit off and your head hurt. You were sure the rest of the symptoms she had were following soon but you did not have time to think about that.
Once you were okay with your appearance you had a few sips of water and made your way to Scarlett’s room. Taking a moment to collect yourself one last time you knocked at the door and a smiling Scarlett opened the door for you. She was in a good mood so returning her smile was not hard. “Good morning, someone is in a good mood”, you said smiling as she let you in and she just grinned happily. You were happy that she didn’t seem to catch on that you weren’t feeling great and you would do everything so it stayed that way. “I feel like today is gonna be a good day”, she said and you just smiled. Well not for you…
“We’re driving to the other hotel that is closer to the theater in a few minutes for hair, make up and outfit and when you’re done and we still have some time left an interviewer of Vanity fair will have a quick interview with you. If not they will do that at the awards later”, you explained the plan to her and she nodded smiling. Grabbing her bag you both made your way down to the car and made your way to the other hotel.
You never had a problem with motion sickness but after the night you had, you weren’t a big fan of the drive. You weren’t feeling sick just a bit uneasy so you weren’t as chatty as usual which Scarlett immediately picked up on. “Are you okay? You’re more quiet than usual”, she asked softly and you mentally cursed yourself for letting your strong front slip slightly. Looking into her slightly worried green eyes you smiled and gave her a reassuring look while saying “I’m fine, just needed to get used to the mattress last night”. Scarlett smiled softly and nodded before she said “Yeah me too”.
She wasn’t completely convinced but decided to let it rest for now. For the rest of the way and also as you arrived at the hotel she kept a close eye on you. Trying to read your body language and started to assume that she got you sick with whatever she had the week before. So as soon as her assistant arrived she send her out to pick up some, crackers, ginger ale, ibuprofen and tissues. Just to be prepared if you did catch it.
You were standing at the side of the room busy working through the security concept for that night at the awards and afterparty, trying to blend out how tired you were and how crappy you were feeling. You were so immersed into your phone, that you didn’t notice Scarlett walking up to you. As she was standing in front of you, you looked up and noticed the things in her hands. Rising your eyebrows and looking into her eyes confused she said “I figured you could use some of it”. Your heart melted at how cute and adorable she was right now but you were not gong to give up your strong front.
“I told you I’m fine, just a bit tired that’s all”, you said gently, not wanting to offend her but you couldn’t help the small smile that played on your lips. “I know. Still, sit down a bit, you’re gonna be on your feet for long enough later”, she said in a tone that left no room to argue. You sighed softly but inside you felt flattered that she wanted to take care of you as well.
She placed the things on the nightstand as you reluctantly sat down. After a pointed stare from her you also leaned against the headboard and got a bit more comfortable. She could be very persistent if she wanted something, that was something you learned pretty quickly. While she continued to get ready you took off your shoes and pulled your knees up to your chest as you started to nibble on the crackers. You knew you needed to eat and the ginger ale helped things to settle a bit too.
What you didn’t know was that Scarlett watched you through the mirror softly, happy that she could help a little. After eating a few crackers and drinking half of the bottle you took an ibuprofen in hopes it would ease the headache. Going over the security details once again on your phone you could feel your eyelids getting heavier but tried to ignore it. However after a few minutes you could no longer fight off the exhaustion and fell asleep, your phone falling on the bed.
The smile spreading over Scarlett’s face was soft as she saw you asleep in the mirror. You were way more exhausted than you led on. She knew it would take at least two more hours until you would leave so she said to her make up artist “Hold on one second, I’ll be right back”. She nodded and Scarlett got up making her way to the bed before gently laying you down and covering you with her jacket. Slightly pushing a strand of hair out of your face, she was glad you weren’t running a fever. At least not yet.
Plugging your phone in so it’s fully charged once you had to leave, she sat back down and they finished getting her ready.
As you woke up you realized you were laying on the bed.
Shit did you actually fall asleep?! It did feel pretty good though…
You sit up just as Scarlett walks up to you all ready and looking gorgeous like always. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep”, you said while blinking the sleep out of your eyes. You gotta admit the nap did make you feel slightly better but you still weren’t feeling great. “Don’t worry about it. You needed it and I’m glad you made sure the time you had to wait was well spend”, she answered softly but you could hear the ever so slight worried undertone.
You smiled softly especially as you see that your phone was fully charged since she made sure to plug it in. Knowingly ignoring the part where she said you needed it. Putting on your shoes you grab your jacket and look at her seeing the slightly concerned look in her eyes. Grabbing her hand you give it a gentle squeeze saying “I’m fine Scarlett, come on lets go”. Scarlett just sighed softly and nodded before you both made your way down to the car. The interview would be at the awards.
In the car her eyes were still on you so you caught her eyes and told her smiling softly “You look really beautiful tonight, Scarlett”. You could see the blush creeping across her cheeks as she looked down shyly and thanked you. As you reach the location you help her out of the car and let her walk the red carpet, doing the things she can do best. You’re always close making sure to stay on high alert and notice if she gets overwhelmed. Muffling a few coughs into your elbow when no one was watching, you could feel your throat starting to get a bit scratchy.
During the awards you were standing at the side of the room, glad that Scarlett had a seat at the side so you were there in no time if needed. However you could also just disappear in the shadows if they wanted to film or take pictures. Your other bodyguard colleagues always made fun of you in these situations, saying your military side was coming out. That might be true, you were standing tall, arms behind your back and always on high alert even when chatting with your colleagues. I guess years in the army do that to you. Some things stick even if you feel like crap.
Every once in a while you muffle a cough or sniffle slightly. You were still not feeling great in general, the ever so slight uneasiness in your stomach still there as well.
After the award show everybody slowly started to get ready to leave since the afterparty would start not much later at a different location. However you didn’t move until Scarlett locked eyes with you, your sign to come closer.
Knowing in situations like these Scarlett had a tendency to get pretty anxious you stayed purposely close. Knowing out of experience it calmed her down. On the way to the exit you met Florence Pugh, Scarlett’s co-star from the black widow movie. You were glad they met because during filming they developed a deep friendship. Scarlett felt safe and comfortable with Flo which was your priority.
“Scarlett! Heyy”, she greeted her and they hugged closely. You made sure to not stare at them. Giving them a moment of privacy before you heard Flo say “Y/N it’s nice to see you too”. Normally you never interacted with her friends which they knew but Flo was an exception. Giving her a small smile and a nod you got back to work. You knew you couldn’t get distracted in situations like this. “Yess! She smiled at me. I knew I was special”, Florence said proudly and that caused you to chuckle shortly. Scarlett just laughed out loud at Florence cuteness. After a minute they said a quick good bye, saying they would see each other at the afterparty in a bit.
You guided Scarlett to the exit as you came past Adam Driver, one person you didn’t really like. You knew they were friends but Adam had a tendency to touch Scarlett more than needed, which made her uncomfortable rather quickly and he knew that. Staying closer than necessary to her you made sure to keep an eye on him. After greeting each other with a quick hug he wanted to wrap an arm around her waist but you were quick to swat his hand away before he did so. His eyes flicked to you for a second and you raised an eyebrow shooting him a quick glare. He understood that that was a warning so you kept your eyes on him and stayed aware of your surroundings while they held a quick chat.
The occasional sniffle or clearing of your throat to stop yourself from coughing however didn’t go unnoticed by Scar since you were standing so close. Soon enough you were making your way back to the car and headed towards the afterparty.
You couldn’t describe how happy you were to finally sit for a minute. All that standing was way harder when you were sick but the moving of the car disturbed your moment of peace. Swallowing and breathing deep for a second you focused on Scarlett as she moved. Handing you the bottle of ginger ale you kept in the car. You could tell that she noticed but you were not going to give in. „I know you’re fine“, she just said softly after you eyed her skeptically.
Smiling softly and blushing slightly you took the bottle from her and drank a few sips before also taking another ibuprofen for the headache that only intensified during the award show. Scarlett only watched you silently. She kept purposely quiet to allow you a few moments of rest before you’d be once again stuck keeping her safe for another few hours.
Arriving you got out first and muffled a few coughs into your elbow before helping her out of the car and going in together. Staying at the side once again you kept a close eye on her while she was having fun. Eventhough you were not a fan of being there you were glad to see Scarlett having fun and letting loose. Seeing her happy made you smile, god you would love to kiss those plump lips of hers.
Coming out of your daydream you sipped on your water and tried to focus back on your job. It wasn’t like you to zone out like that but as you pinched the bridge of your nose you could feel the slight fever you were running. That explained it. The exhaustion of your long day was eating at you and you craved nothing more than to just lay down in bed and rest.
Every once in a while Scarlett asked you with her look if you were okay and you always gave her nod. Not willing to show any weakness in front of her. By 1.30 am you were trying your hardest to just keep yourself together. The coughing and sniffling had just gotten worse and with the hard time you had focusing you figured your fever spiked a bit too. You tried your best to keep it from Scarlett but she was keeping an eye on you too.
As Scarlett walked up to you, you focused on her. „Do you wanna leave? Are you okay?“, she asked gently over the music but you just answered stubbornly „I’m fine Scarlett, we can stay as long as you want to“. She could see the exhaustion behind your stubborn eyes and also that you got a bit paler than before. However she also knew that she wouldn’t win this argument right now so she just sighed and went back to Florence.
Coming back to Florence, Flo asked „Everything okay?“. „I think I’m gonna leave early. Y/N is not feeling well and I don’t wanna put her through this any longer even if she is way to stubborn for her own good“, she answered and Flo just smiled softly, she knew that Scar had a crush on you for a while already but was to scared to act on her feelings. „Of course Scarlett, go. Take her home and take care of her. Finally tel her how you feel“, Flo said with a pointed look in her eyes and Scarlett couldn’t help but blush. Hugging her tight as a goodbye she made her way back to you and said „Come on, we’re leaving“.
Confused at her sudden decision, since the night was still young you wanted to say something but Scarlett beat you to it. „Stop it. I know that you’re not feeling well. You probably caught it from me last week and I want you to stop being so stubborn and get home to get some rest“, she said clear but you still weren’t having it. „Scarlett, I’m okay. We don’t need to leave because of me“, you said trying to be as convincing as possible but all the effort was useless as you turned away slightly to harshly cough into your elbow. God you really needed to go home.
Sniffling slightly as you turned back to her she just looked at you with a raised eyebrow. You knew that look. There was no way for you to get out of that now. She was standing her ground. Giving in sighing you just nodded and Scar smiled softly. Texting the driver to come and get you, you already made your way outside.
Outside it was pretty chilly in comparison to earlier which caused Scarlett to shiver in the unexpected cold. Taking off your jacket, having a long sleeve under it you gently draped it over her shoulders. „Y/N no…“, Scarlett started but you interrupted her, looking into her eyes „Scarlett I’m sick already and still wearing something warmer right now than you. There is no use in you getting sick again“. Scarlett gave you a stare but kept it, knowing you had a point there.
While you were waiting for the car you felt your body starting to give up on you. Keeping up the strong front was exhausting. Without you even noticing you started to play with the rings on your fingers. A habit which always showed when you were trying hard to cover up. Scarlett was familiar with that after the years you worked for her already and seeing how excessive you were playing with your rings broke her heart. She could only imagine how bad you were feeling right now. Taking your hand in hers to stop you, you looked up and blushed slightly knowing she caught you.
Sharing some shy smiles and enjoying your hand in hers neither of you wanted to ruin the moment. However you got pulled out of her amazing green eyes as you heard a guy yelling her name. You were immediately on alert and felt Scar tense slightly beside you. As he came closer, insulting her, you stepped protectively in front of her. Walking up to him to keep him from getting closer you said angry „Shut your mouth and stay away!“. „Or what?“, he asked challenging and looking you up and down. Boy, he really didn’t know what to expect from you but that was the wrong answer.
Quickly twisting his arm on his back you kicked him in the knees as he dropped down hissing in pain. „Bitch what the fuck!“, he yelled and you just leaned down to his ear saying „Or this is the least painful its gonna get, are we understood?“. He just started grinning again but you did not have the energy to play his games. Pulling his arm up higher he cried out slightly as you said „I didn’t hear you“. „Yes, yes understood“, he said quickly and nodded, tears building in his eyes. The driver stopped in front of you and you said „Scarlett, get into the car“. She did as she was told and you pushed the guy to the ground before getting into the car as well. „Drive“, you instructed and the Drive pulled back onto the streets.
Looking to Scarlett you could tell that she was afraid and anxious so you quickly opened your arms and said „Come her, you’re safe“. While she cuddled deep into your arms you held her close and helped her calm down. „I’m sorry, I’ll never get used to these situations“, she mumbled into your chest and you just pressed a light kiss to her head before saying „You have nothing to be sorry about, these people are exactly the reason I’m here“. You turned to the side a bit and muffled a cough away from Scarlett before she calmed down and sat back up.
Keeping a hold on your hand she gave it a gently squeeze to thank you. The drive was taking a bit longer so you pulled your one knee up to you chest, free arm wrapped loosely around your middle and leaned your head back against the seat, closing your eyes. Scarlett knew you weren’t feeling great so you didn’t really bother. By stroking over your hand gently she tried to provide you some comfort and that just caused a small smile to play across your lips. Honestly that little gesture brought way more comfort than she’d ever think.
As you sniffled once again she handed you a tissue and said „Blow your nose, your headache will only get worse if you don’t. Believe me“. You couldn’t help but blush slightly. She was so caring. Doing as you were told you sanitized your hands and rested your hand beside you again, hoping she would continue to hold it. Scarlett wasted no time to grab your hand again and caressing it gently. Sighing softly you looked up at her and smiled slightly, not used to show yourself this vulnerable.
Her green eyes found yours and she just smiled. She knew that you never ask for help and do everything on your own so she gently rubbed her fingers over your hand and said „Let me help take care of you“. You looked deep into her eyes while you thought about it. You had trouble letting people in but maybe she was worth it. You knew her, she only meant well and if that would mean that you could spend more time with her outside of the job maybe you could bring yourself to accept her help.
She let you take your time making your decision and as you looked back up at her mumbling an okay, she gave you a bright smile. That smile made your decision worth it already.

Taking care of you S.J
Scarlett Johansson x Reader
Summary: Scarlett comes back to find you sick
Scarlett POV I can’t wait to jump into Y/N’s arms after a long day at work. We live together and see each other everyday but I enjoy every single second with her and I miss her bubbly presence so much during work.
It kinda disappoints me today when I didn’t receive any text or calls from her. Maybe she’s busy with work. I know she leaves her phone alone when she works and doesn’t open the message until the end of the day or even until a few days later. She loves procrastinating such things.
I can’t say I wasn’t surprised to see her car parked in the same spot before I left this morning. If she was home already, why didn’t she message me? Did the simple gesture not mean anything to her anymore? What happened to the Y/N who always asks where I was when she gets off from work?
“Y/N, I’m home!” I shouted after stepping into the house. Weirdly, I didn’t receive any reply from her. By now, I should be hearing her footsteps running towards the door. It was eerily quiet. Maybe she went out without her car? No… I saw her set of keys on the countertop when I walked in.
“Babe?” I was still met with silence. Was she showering? No… I’m not hearing any water running.
Did she leave? Why is it so quiet? I was starting to panic and rushed into our bedroom. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw her sleeping in bed but took another deep breath when I saw the crumpled up tissue papers next to her on the nightstand.
I placed my palm on Y/N’s forehead, she was warm but thankfully not as hot as I was expecting. She stirred lightly at my touch. I am guessing she felt it but has no energy to reply. She wrapped herself in the duvet but was covered in a thin layer of sweat. Her nose was red from the constant sneezing.
I quickly changed out of my clothes and came back with a cold towel for her forehead. She hummed as I placed it on her forehead and it fell off as she turned. “I know it’s cold but I need to cool your fever down since you are not in a state to take your medicine.” I was hoping she could hear me in her sleep.
I changed the towel every few hours and Y/N finally opened her eyes and looked at me. “Oh… you’re back.” She said tiredly as she tried to sit up.
“Are you feeling better? Did you eat anything?” I asked as I positioned the pillows behind her back.
“I took the cold medicine as soon as you left.” She said sniffling.
“Why didn’t you tell me during breakfast?” I touched her forehead again to feel her temperature. It has gone back down to normal.
“You need to work. It would mess up the schedule if you’re not there.” She said in her scratchy voice. She would always put others' needs in front of hers.
“Let me make it up to you now, okay? I’m going to make something for you to eat.” She blinked and smiled softly.
The sound of the chair dragging on the floor caught my attention when I was preparing soup for Y/N in the kitchen. I turned around and saw Y/N pulling her knees close to her chest and wrapping herself in the blanket while sitting at the dining table. “Why did you come down? I would have brought it up for you.”
She shrugged her shoulders and continued watching me. “Well, just sit tight. It’ll be done soon.”
I poured the soup into a bowl and let it cool slightly before passing it to her. She let her arm escape through the slit of the blanket and slowly drank the soup, not before blowing each spoonful.
“It’s better if you take off the blanket, you still need to cool down.” I said as I walked closer to her and took off the blanket and tossed it aside.
“Thanks, I feel a lot better after eating.”
I took the seat next to her and felt her forehead and neck to check her temperature again. “It seems your fever has gone. I’ll clean this up, you can go back to bed.”
“I’ll wait. We can go together.”
“Alright.” I washed everything up quickly and we went back to the bedroom.
Y/N stuck her hand out when I tried pulling her close to me. “I’m still slightly sick.”
“I’m sure it’s almost gone and I have always had a better immune system than you.”
“Don’t blame me if you end up sick tomorrow.”
“You know I won’t. Now, go to sleep. I love you.” Finally she did not resist when I pulled her closer to my body, wrapping my arm around her waist and under her neck.
“I love you too.”

Location: #5, Scenarios of Sorts: #2, and Dialogue: #6 with Scarlett? Congratulations on 100 followers!🥳
5. At a press conference. 2. Like the worst cold. 6. “You alright?” Thank you!!
———————————
“H’h.. htsshoo!” Scarlett let out yet another muffled sneeze into her elbow.
“Bless you,” you said for the tenth time since the press conference started thirty minutes ago.
“Thanks.”
Nearly the entire cast of the Avengers was at the long table for Comic Con, and poor Scarlett was dealing with an awful cold.
She sighed beside you, and you reached over to place your hand on her thigh.
“You alright?”
She nodded, sending you a brief smile. You could see how exhausted she was, though. Her poor nose was raw and red, she was sniffling constantly, and the bags underneath her eyes were more pronounced than usual.
“No you’re not,” you argued softly. Scarlett cleared her throat and ran her finger down the bridge of her nose.
“We’ll be done in another half hour,” she shrugged.
“And then you’ll let me take care of you?”
“Yes.. heh.. h’tschioo!”
“Bless you,” you chorused along with the rest of the people in the large room.
“Thank you,” Scarlett said quietly into the microphone. She leaned back in her chair again and looked at you.
“And then I’ll need you to take care of me.”

2019 Fic Review
This year had a lot of ups and downs between my writing and depression and work and everything, but I just wanted to look back at all my Reylo fics and how much I wrote this year.
Caught by Crystals has been my heart and soul this year. 40 chapters and 70,168 words. I’ve had this fic in my heart since 2017, my very first brainstorming notes are dated as far as April 2017, and I mentioned that I wanted to write it back in October 2017, but finally posted the first chapter October 2018, finishing only days before The Rise of Skywalker release in December 2019. It’s the longest finished fic I’ve written, and I’m just so proud that I’ve completed it. Ultimately, it’s a supernatural ghost story centered around Ben being a witch and Rey being a ghost and the development of a found family and setting things right.
Rey Has a Cold was just a little fic that I wrote when I had a bad head and chest cold, but it took off like crazy. It’s a pure comfort sickfic with the softest Ben.
Fall to Your Knees is an angsty little fic that spawned from that gif from Marriage Story where Adam Driver is on his knees and Scarlett Johansson is rubbing his back. It’s all angst. I’m so sorry.
Dismantled is a wip I’m still working on. Pretty much, mpreg. Ben’s pregnant with Rey’s Force baby, because of the bond, of course, and it spurs Ben to change everything. It’s cute, and I’m so excited to keep writing it. Because it’s so cute and tender and precious.
I’m not reading your mind is a silly little fic that boils down to pure wish fulfillment. Ben and Rey can see each other’s daydreams, which isn’t exactly great for their focus in this modern coworker au.
27 Dresses of Senator Benjamin Organa is a Senator Ben/Jedi Bodyguard Rey au vaguely inspired by the movie 27 Dresses, and the fact that the song “Benny and the Jets” came on the radio every single day for like 3 weeks.
You Wanna (Pokemon) Go? Oh I’m so proud of this one! The coffee shop between Ben’s and Rey’s very grown up professional jobs has just become a PokeStop.
But looking back, this year was so good for my fanfic, and I’m so proud of everything I’ve written. But also I’m so proud of seeing these little snippets of my life encapsulated as inspiration for my writing.
And thank you so much all you Reylos for reading and commenting! Happy New Year!!!

Everythings gonna be okay
Pairing: Scarlett x you
Words: 2078
Warnings: none that I know of
Summary: You and Scarlett had recently broken up. When you go to her house to pick up the last of your things, you see that she was nowhere to be found. Despite your better judgment, you decide to go and investigate. The sight that greets you all but breaks your heart.
Tumblr media
You let out a near silent curse when you ring the doorbell for the third time and receive no answer. All you wanted to do was grab the rest of your things. You'd taken most of it the day you'd both decided to end things, but there were a few heavier items -such as your desktop computer- that you were unable to take with you due to the sheer size and weight.
Using your key was a last resort, something you didn't want to have to do unless it was absolutely necessary because, as much as it breaks your heart to admit, you weren't her girlfriend anymore. You couldn't just come and go as you please. That privileges was out the window the second you'd broken up.
But apparently you didn't have a choice, because the longer you stand here, the more evident it becomes that she wasn't going to answer the door. Your key slides into the lock with that same familiar ease, and your eyes take in the familiar sight of her entry way as you tentatively push open the door and step inside.
It looked the exact same, except for the light layer of dust lining each and every surface. Weird. Scarlett was, in the most polite way possible, a clean freak. She liked order and often became grumpy when things were even the slightest bit out of place.
You go to blame it on her just being busy, but the sight in the living room immediately halts you in your tracks. There were tissues everywhere, and there was that slight smell in the air of sweat and just overall sickness. You hate the fact that your stomach sinks in concern, because there was only one rational thing that could explain this.
Scarlett was sick, and had obviously been so for quite some time.
You couldn't help but freeze on the bottom of the staircase in a silent debate on whether or not you should go up. The part of you that was still very much in love with her wanted nothing more than to take care of her. But the ugly part of you, the one who was still so hateful over the ugly breakup wanted nothing more than to get the hell out of here.
She'd been the one to distance herself. She'd been the one to not make time for you, and she'd been the one who'd told you to pack your things and get the hell out of her sight. Why should you repay that with kindness? Because you loved her, that's why. And despite the fact she'd broken your heart, the last thing you wanted was to see her suffer.
It wasn't like you. It never had been, and it never would be.
With a defeated sigh, you grasp the hand rail and begin to ascend the long staircase. You make it to the top in no time, and find yourself hesitating for only a short second before making your way down the hall towards the bedroom you'd once called your own.
You stand there like an idiot for what feels like forever before you finally find the courage in you to grasp the handle, and and as you push down, that same smell that had greeted you downstairs, only a little more intensified, was quick to fill your nostrils.
Scrunching up your nose in slight disgust, you enter the room and softly close the door behind you.
The curtains were closed encasing the room in a heavy darkness, but that doesn't stop you from being able to make out Scarlett's small figure laying in the centre of the large bed. You warily make your way over, and the first things you notice were the red tinged nose and quiet snores escaping her slightly parted lips. Her skin was pale, but her cheeks were flushed, signalling she had quite the fever, and you notice her body was trembling almost violently.
Before you could stop yourself, your hand was reaching out and brushing away the sweaty strand hair that had fallen into her face. That action almost immediately rouses her, and you wince slightly as her eyes blearily flicker open.
"Hi," you murmur, tentatively perching yourself on the end of the bed. "You're sick."
Scarlett furrows her eyebrows, almost as though she couldn't quite believe you were here. Her eyes, glassy from the fever induced haze were bloodshot, pupils huge telling you that she hadn't been getting very much sleep.
Her trembling hand reaches out for you, and you only hesitate briefly before taking it, the pad of your thumb instinctively grazing over the almost too warm skin.
Then, without any warning, her eyes fill with tears, her bottom lip trembles, and she was letting out a stifled sob before attempting to sit up. You frown in concern as you scoot yourself a little closer, leaning forward and slipping an arm beneath her body before tugging her to your chest. She lets out wet, gravely sounding cough when her sobs catch in her throat, and you wince at the painful sound as you use your other hand to cup the back of her head.
"It's okay," you murmur into her hair, "you're okay. I'm here. I've got you."
Scarlett let's out a choked sob as she shakes her head, and you let out a soft, defeated sigh as you hold her as close as you could. She smelt less than pleasant, so you knew once of your tasks today would be getting her into the shower.
This was the last thing you'd expected to happen. If you were being completely honest with yourself, you'd expected her to be mad for invading her space. To tell you to go away just as she'd done no more than a week ago. A part of you still expects that to happen, because you knew this whole emotional mess was just her fever talking. She didn't actually want you here, but you couldn't just leave her to cry.
You hold her close for a few silent moments before easing her body back down onto the bed, bringing your hands up to cup her cheeks. "I'm going to get you some medicine, okay?" You gently wipe away the tears with the pads of your thumbs.
Scarlett's trembling hands reach to grasp your wrists, almost as though she was silently pleading to you to not let go.
Her touch sends shivers throughout your whole entire body, and you just about manage to refrain from pulling yourself of her her grasp as you force the corners of your lips into a small smile.
"It's okay," you reassure, "I'll be back."
Thankfully, though she visibly hesitates, Scarlett does let you go, and you try and make your breath of relief as subtle as possible as you make your way through to the bathroom. In here was just as, if not worse than her bedroom, and you make a mental note to give it a thorough clean before you leave as you grab the Tylenol and cough medicine from the cabinet.
When you make your way back through to her bedroom with your arms full, you notice that Scarlett was now sat up against the headboard of her bed. She appears to be staring into space, and your lips quirk up at the corners in slight adoration as you climb in next to her.
"Here," you murmur, pouring the correct dose of cough medicine into the small plastic cup before handing it over. Her trembling hand takes it, and she sniffles wetly as she tilts it back and swallows with only a slight grimace. You ignore the urge you have to praise her as you hand over the Tylenol and water, watching as Scarlett repeats the same steps as before.
This time, however, she must have swallowed wrong, because she begins to cough forcefully into her hands. You watch her, eyebrows furrowed in concern as you reach out to steadily pat her back.
"Take a deep breath, you're okay." You sooth, and Scarlett nods, trying her best to comply despite the fact she seems to be unable to catch her breath. Her chest heaves with each ragged exhale, and her already flushed cheeks taking on an even darker shade of red signalling not enough oxygen was getting into her lungs. You were forced to swallow the tightness in your own throat.
"Scarlett, breath." You instruct as you reach to grab the bottle of the water from the nightstand, your hand still firmly patting her back. Scarlett attempts to let out a hoarse breath, but she does no more than choke further.
By now, panicked tears were streaming down her cheeks, and you could feel your own heart beginning to pound. Hauling her body into your arms, you lay her down on her side and raise her arms above her head. You lay behind her propped up on your elbow, resting your hand against her heaving chest and rubbing firmly.
"You're okay. I'm here. You're okay." You sooth, pressing a tender kiss against the side of her head.
Scarlett let's out another wet cough before somehow managing to catch her breath, and it was only then does let out a soft sob. With tears in your own eyes, you tug her around to face you and pull her against your chest. You hold her as close as you could, your hand grazing soothing circles up and down her back. Your other hand cups the back of her head, fingers combing through her tangled tresses.
"I-I don't.. don't feel w-well." She chokes out as she desperately clutches at your shirt, and you nod as you press your lips against the top of her head.
"I know baby." You murmur, "I know."
She stifles another sob against you at the nickname, and you instinctively tighten your grasp around her. You hadn't meant to say it. It had just slipped out because that was all you ever used to call her. She's your baby. Or well, she was. You feel your throat tighten at the thought, and you swallow heavily to refrain from bursting into tears as you hold Scarlett close.
A comfortable silence soon falls upon you with the exception of her slightly hoarse breathing, and it wasn't long until you feel Scarlett fall limp against you signalling she'd fallen asleep.
*
A few hours later, you find your self sat in the bathroom with your back to the tub. Scarlett was curled up in the water, sniffling softly as the hot water clears her congestion. Not a word had been spoken since earlier, but the silence surrounding you wasn't awkward. It was almost...comforting, which was surprising considering the circumstances.
But the silence doesn't last for long.
"I'm sorry." A quiet murmur.
You turn your head slightly, seeing the bare skin of her back from your peripheral vision, "For what? Getting sick? That's not your fault."
Scarlett sniffles softly, "No, not for that. For...for what happened. A week ago." She explains, her voice trailing off into a soft, trembling murmur.
You let out a soft breath as you twist a loose thread hanging off of your jeans around your finger, "You don't have to apologise. What happened, happened. It's in the past."
Everything was silent again, but the shuddering breath that escapes from Scarlett's lips does not  go amiss. It has you turning to face her, and your heart breaks when you see her crying silently. Tears were streaming down her cheeks, and her bottom lip was trembling as though she was trying to hold back the onslaught of sobs.
"Scarlett..." you trail off, not knowing what to say.
Her lips quirk up into a sad smile as she wipes off her cheeks, "It's okay." She whispers.
With a soft sigh, you shift to your knees and lean forward to press a kiss to the warm skin of her forehead. As you pull away, you raise a hand to cup her cheek, the pad of your thumb grazing softly over her skin. "We'll talk. When you're better. Okay?"
"Okay." Scarlett murmurs, reaching up to cover your hand with her own.

Everything’s gonna be okay (part 2)
Pairing: Scarlett x you
Words: 1429
Warnings: some swearing I think
Summary: after Scarlett’s sickness, you both sit down and talk about your relationship status.
Tumblr media
Three days pass before Scarlett had finally begun to get over her cold. You'd taken care of the entire time, just as you had promised, and other than the sniffles and the occasional itch in the back of her throat, she was somewhat back to her normal self.
You say somewhat, because despite the fact she was feeling better, she still wasn't quite acting like the Scarlett you knew. That reason was pretty self explanatory considering the circumstances, but you couldn't quite find it in yourself to call her out on it because that would be pretty hypocritical of you.
You were treading almost cautious circles around one another, neither one of you wanting to be the one to bring it up first. You knew you'd said you would, but it was easier said than done.
Scarlett was curled up on the couch, bundled up in a thick blanket whilst she watches whatever movie was on the tv. You had taken residence on the opposite side, your phone in your hand as you scroll aimlessly through your social media. It was obvious that neither one of you could find the words you wanted to say, and were using your chosen distractions as a suit of armour.
Your eyes, however, would often flicker over to her, just to be sure she was doing okay. And you would sometimes feel her eyes on you too, telling you your silent implication was reciprocated and that she was feeling the awkwardness too.
It was only as the movie finishes and a commercial begins do you finally find it in you to talk.
"Why'd you do it?" You murmur, locking your phone and setting it down onto your thigh. You hated how meek your voice sounded. It was almost as though you feared her yelling at you all over again.
Scarlett looks over to you, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. It takes only moments for her facial expression to change into one of understanding, and you watch as she hesitates for only a second before sitting herself up and muting the tv, shifting her body around to face you and letting out a quiet sigh.
"I..." she swallows away the tightness in her throat as her hands absentmindedly twist a loose thread of the blanket around her finger. "I was angry." She could barely bring herself to look at you.
You nod, knowing this. You hadn't been able to forget the look of pure hatred on her face as she'd told you to get the fuck out. It was permanently engraved in your brain, and you were sure it would be for the rest of your life.
On that day, Scarlett had been in a bad mood from the second she'd woken up. You didn't know why, and no matter how many times you'd asked, she'd adamantly refused to tell you. It had left you walking on thin ice around her, keeping to yourself and not saying a word in fear you'd say something to make her snap.
Things weren't exactly picture perfect before this day though. For a month prior, her busy schedule had left you little to no time with each other. You went days without seeing her face, kissing her, touching her, and you guess that was the cherry on the cake that made you reach your breaking point.
"Why?" You ask, unsure eyes flickering up to meet her own. "Why'd you get so...mad at me?" You try to keep your voice as unaccusing as possible.
Scarlett bites her bottom lip softly as she lets out a heavy breath through her nose. "I wasn't mad at you," she shakes her head. It was almost as though she was trying to convince herself her as much as she was trying to convince you.
“I was never mad at you. I was mad at everything else. My job. My lack of schedule and personal life. I was mad at the world and I just needed someone to blame. You were just...there, in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was a shitty thing to do and I regretted it the second it happened. I'm so, so sorry."
You stare at her for a second before letting out a quiet sigh, your eyes flickering down to your lap. You didn't know what to say. You weren’t mad at her, at least not anymore. You’d forgiven her almost the second it had happened because deep down you knew she hadn’t meant it. She’d just been stressed and overwhelmed and you’d been the closest target.
"I went out in the rain, after you," she continues unsurely when you don't say anything. The trembling voice, however, does not go amiss, and you feel the tears swimming in your own eyes.  "I looked for you, for over an hour, but you were gone. I called too, but..."
"...but I didn't answer." You finish for her, and Scarlett lets out a quiet breath as she nods her head.
"Yeah." She murmurs hoarsely as she sniffles and clears her throat. "I'm so, so, sorry Y/n."
You knowingly nod your head. It takes you a few seconds for you to find your words.
"What we had together in those last few weeks was not at all healthy,” you start, trying your best to ignore the way you see Scarlett's bottom lip beginning to quiver in your peripheral vision. You hated seeing her upset, especially when it was you who had caused it.
"You took all of your frustrations out on me, even when it wasn't my fault and I tolerated that for a while because I knew you were upset and I didn't want to add to that. But what you should have done is talk to me, or ask me to give you space. I would gladly have done so without hesitation. We were partners, Scarlett, but you didn’t treat me like one.”
A single tear streams down her cheek, and as she wipes it away, more fall in its place, "I know. I'm sorry."
"I don't want you to cry," you murmur, scooting closer and cupping her cheek with your hand. You tenderly wipe away the tears with the pad of your thumb, "and I don't want you to be sorry. You've apologised before, and I forgave you. I just wanted to know why."
Scarlett nods as another tear steams down her cheeks. You press a soft kiss to her hairline before wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her close. Her body was warm against your own, and you hear yer let out a soft sniffle as her head comes to rest on your chest just beneath your chin. You cup the back your your head, the pad of your thumb grazing over the shell of her ear as her own hand tightly clutches the material or your shirt.
"In the future," you start as you lay your cheek against the top of her head, "in the future, you need to communicate with me. You need to tell me what's going on when you’re upset because I can't read your mind."
"Does that mean..." she tightens her arms around your midsection, and you nod as you press your lips against the top of her head. Before the break up, your relationship had pretty much been picture perfect. You rarely argued, communication was healthy and though you didn't get a lot of time together, it meant the time you did get was both cherished and special.
It was only in the last few weeks did that change, so you didn't see why you couldn't try again. You didn't want to waste the two amazing years together over an argument that could very much have been prevented.
That would be a stupid move on your part.
Scarlett buries her face into your neck, the tip of her nose cold against your skin. You instinctively tighten your grasp around her body, hand slipping beneath her shirt to rest against the bare skin of her back.
"I love you," you hear her murmur, and you smile tenderly. You didn't think you'd ever hear those words again.
"I love you."

Clingy snuggles
Pairings: Scarlett x you
Words: 836
Warnings: none
Summary: You’re sick and clingy, and it’s up to your girlfriend, Scarlett, to look after you.
Notes: thank you to the sweet anon who requested this
Tumblr media
When you succumb to consciousness on a random Wednesday morning mid July, you immediately felt off. Your throat felt itchy; your nose was blocked and your first assumption was allergies. It was allergy season after all, and you typically suffered with a bit of congestion if not a little bit of a cough.
That soon changes when you attempt to sit up and the throbbing in your head all but brings tears to your eyes. The lump in the bed next to you stirs at the unstifled whimper that somehow manages to escape your lips, and you purse your lips as you bring the blankets over your head in a futile attempt at hiding.
"Baby?" You hear her raspy voice call out in confusion, the mattress beneath you shifting suggesting she'd sat herself up. You feel her hand come to rest on your blanket clad back just moments later, and you feel yourself relaxing beneath her touch despite the fact you didn't want her to know you were here.
"Honey, why are you hiding?" She laughs softly, reaching out to tug the blankets off of your face. You allow this to happen, and despite how crappy you felt, you couldn't help but relish in just how beautiful your girlfriend was. Her blonde hair was down and a little mused from sleep. Cheeks flushed and lips quirked up into an amused smile.
The gentle smile was replaced with a small frown when she takes sight of your own flushed cheeks. Her hand was immediately reaching out to rest against your forehead, and despite your best efforts, your bottom lip begins to quiver at the gentle touch.
"You're sick," she murmurs, eyes flickering up to your own. Her eyes widen in alarm when she catches sight of the single tear that had somehow managed to make its way down your cheek. "baby, no, why are you crying?" She laughs softly as she grabs you by the underarms and hauls you up into her arms.
Your head comes to settle just beneath her chin, settled on the bare skin of her chest just above her tank top. You sniffle softly as her hand begins to gently graze over your back, arms tight around her waist.
"You're okay," she murmurs into the top of your head, "We'll get you some medicine then you'll be right as rain." She presses her lips against your warm forehead, and though you nod, you don't quite manage to release her when she attempts to pull you out of her arms.
"Baby, you need to let me go." She laughs as she runs her hand down your back before patting your behind a few times. "Come on. I can't get you any medicine if you won't let go."
Your bottom lip quivers again as she attempts to pry you off of her. Despite the fact you knew you were acting like a child, you couldn't help it. It wasn't often you got sick, but when you did, it always hit you harder than most. You wanted comfort and reassurance and became increasingly clingy with whoever was taking care of you.
Growing up, it was always your mom. But now that you were grown up a living your life, it came down to Scarlett, your girlfriend of three years. She'd seen you sick just two times during your relationship, so the embarrassment was lessened by the fact you knew she was aware of just how needy you could get.
"Come on honey, let me go." She attempts to coax again, and you sniffle softly as you allow her to pry your arms off of her. "I'll be back baby." She soothes as she cups your cheeks and presses a kiss to the bridge of your nose.
It soothes the burn of rejection just slightly, and you watch as she disappears into the bathroom with only a small pout on your lips. She was back before you could really miss her, holding two kinds of medicine along with the thermometer. Perching her ass down onto the bed next you, she cups your cheek and runs the thermometer over your forehead.
"102.3. Mhh. Quite the fever my love." She murmurs, and you sniffle softly as you manoeuvre yourself to lay your head against her bare thigh.
Scarlett stares down at you with a soft smile as she runs a hand through your hair. "You're so clingy." She teases playfully, and your lips quirk up into what could be seen as a smile as you allow her to place a Tylenol on your tongue before allowing her to help you swallow it down with some water.
Seeing no need for the cough medicine just yet, Scarlett places it back on the night stand and hauls you up so you were more or less on her lap. You adjust yourself slightly so your legs were either side of her hips, circling your arms around her neck.
"So clingy." She muses, pressing her lips against your shoulder as she settles her arms around your waist.

“Come on baby,” Scarlett’s sleepy voice mumbled suddenly from the space in the bed beside you, “you’ve been tossing and turning all night, what’s wrong sweetheart?”
You only grumbled something in return. Truth be told, you definitely weren’t feeling well. Your limbs were aching and your sinuses felt like they were about to explode as pressure continued to build within them.
You groaned, the sound muffled by your stuffed nose, and turned to face Scarlett. Her concerned eyes met yours, and she reached out to gently brush a strand of hair away from your forehead.
"I think I'm coming down with something.” You finally managed to rasp out, shocking yourself a little at the state of your own voice.
She sighed, her features shifting into a sympathetic expression, “Oh sweetheart, why didn’t you say anything earlier?” Her soft palm came to rest on your forehead, “Baby you’re burning up, have you been feeling gross all day?”
You suddenly felt a familiar tickle in your nose, and before you could even react, a forceful sneeze erupted from your congested sinuses. The sound echoed in the quiet room, and you winced at the sharp pain it caused in your head.
“Bless you," Scarlett cooed, her voice full of concern as she grabbed a tissue from the bedside table and handed it to you, making sure you had something to catch any further sneezes.
"Thanks," you croaked, accepting the tissue gratefully. You blew your nose gently, trying to alleviate the pressure and clear your sinuses a bit. The relief was only temporary, as the congestion quickly returned.
Scarlett moved closer, wrapping her arm around your shoulders, her touch warm and comforting. "You're definitely not feeling well, hm?” She sighed this time a little as you settled back down, "You don't have to pretend to be strong all the time. It's okay to ask for help sometimes.”
You nodded; you knew was she was right. Maybe if you’d said something sooner you could’ve spent the day resting instead of running around deep cleaning the whole house.
Scarlett pressed a gentle kiss to your temple, her lips warm against your skin. "I know you like to take care of everything, but right now, let me take care of you," she murmured, her voice filled with tenderness.
You leaned into her embrace, finding solace in her presence. "I just hate feeling so helpless," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper, “I’ll tell you next time though.”
Scarlett smiled softly, her fingers tracing soothing circles on your back. "That's my brave sweetheart," she whispered. "Now, let's get you some rest. I'll take care of everything."

Unfiltered Beauty
Tumblr media
〚 Notes - So! I totally forgot that I wrote this ngl, oops. Anyway it hasn’t been edited so excuse the errors :) 〛
〚 Pairing - Scarlett Johansson x Reader 〛
〚 Summary - Scarlett’s sick but powers through her livestream, leaving it up to you to take care of her afterwards. 〛
〚 Wordcount - 880 〛
〘 Check Out My Masterlist! 〙
╚════════ ⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋆✦⋆⋇ ════════╝
“Are you sure you’re up to this baby?” You asked again as the blonde next to you blew her nose loudly, trying to rid the congestion from her voice, “Nobody will mind if we have to cancel.”
Scarlett sniffled, “It’ll be fine, do you know how to set this gizmo up?”
You nodded and positioned your camera up on the tripod on the table infront of you whilst Scarlett rearranged her products, ready for her to show them off.
Checked everything over, you made sure things looked good before nudging your wife’s shoulders and handing her the tissue box to keep beside her out of view of the camera.
Scarlett gave you a weak smile and dabbed at her runny nose with a tissue. "Thanks, baby.” She murmured, her voice still tinged with congestion. She took a deep breath, trying to gather her energy and enthusiasm for the upcoming live stream.
“Is everything ready?” The camera blinked in anticipation as you made sure to check everything over a final time and with an approving nod, you pressed start.
"Hello, everyone!" Scarlett greeted her awaiting online audience, her voice slightly hoarse as she spoke. “I hope you're all doing well. Please excuse my voice today, I’m not feeling so well but everything’ll be fine. Anyway! Today, I have some amazing products to share with you." She picked up a jar of a skincare cream and began explaining its benefits, her passion for beauty evident even in her current state.
As Scarlett continued her product demonstration, her enthusiasm and knowledge shone through despite her stuffy nose. However, as she reached for another jar, a sudden tickle overwhelmed her sinuses. Her eyes widened, and she desperately tried to stifle the sneeze that was building up within her.
She quickly glanced at you, panic evident in her expression. Without missing a beat, you reached for the tissue box and passed it to her discreetly, just in time. Scarlett cupped her hand over her nose, her face contorting as she let out a loud, muffled sneeze into the tissue.
Sitting behind the camera, you gave her a sympathetic smile and mouthed a silent “Bless you” and judging by the grateful look in her eyes, you knew she was thankful.
"Excuse me!" she exclaimed, her voice slightly muffled from her hand covering her mouth. She turned back to the camera, cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Sorry about that, folks. It seems my cold has a mind of its own today."
Just as she was about to resume her presentation, another tickle assaulted her nose, signaling another imminent sneeze. Her eyes widened, and she looked at you with a mix of desperation and resignation. You swiftly reached for another tissue from the box and held it out to her, your expression filled with understanding.
Scarlett grabbed the tissue just in time, but this time the sneeze was even stronger than before. She released a series of rapid sneezes that she tried to muffle as best she could. The force of the sneezes made her shoulders shake, and she closed her eyes tightly, hoping to relieve the tickle in her nose.
Once the fit subsided, your wife let out a sigh of relief and turned back to the camera, her cheeks now even more flushed. She chuckled nervously apologised, “Sorry guys, this is so embarrassing.”
As the live stream went on, Scarlett's energy and passion gradually overshadowed her initial embarrassment. Her genuine love for the products and her dedication to sharing her knowledge with her audience were evident in every word she spoke, even as she occasionally had to pause to sneeze or blow her nose.
Meanwhile, the online audience responded with warmth and understanding. They flooded the chat with messages of support, telling Scarlett not to worry and that they appreciated her authenticity.
Eventually though, you could see the exhaustion getting too her and came into frame as you sat down beside her, “Well I’d like to thank everyone who tuned in to see everything but I’m afraid this lovely lady here needs to go lay down”
Scarlett leaned against you, her tired eyes reflecting both disappointment and gratitude. "Thank you all so much for your understanding. I promise to make it up to you when I'm feeling better." She mustered a weak smile, her voice barely above a whisper.
You reached out to turn off the camera, ending the live stream. As the screen went black, you gently guided Scarlett to stand up, supporting her weight as she swayed slightly from exhaustion.
Together, you made your way to the bedroom, where Scarlett settled herself under the covers. She snuggled into the pillows, finding comfort in the warmth and softness that enveloped her.
You sat by her side, running a gentle hand through her hair. "Rest now, my love," you whispered soothingly. "You just get comfy, alright?"
Scarlett nodded weakly, her eyelids heavy with fatigue. "Thanks baby" she murmured, her voice filled with both love and fatigue.
You smiled tenderly at her, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. "You're welcome, my love. I'll take care of you." With that, you dimmed the lights and ensured she had everything she needed within reach before quietly leaving the room, allowing her to rest undisturbed.

Premiere anxiety
Parings: Scarlett x you
Words: 891
Warnings: none that I know of
Summary: you take care of Scarlett at her most recent movie premiere
Tumblr media
You watch Scarlett from your peripheral vision as you stand side by side on the red carpet of the endgame movie premiere. You had your hand gently resting on the curve of her waist, and she was leaning against your side with her hand against your chest. Flashes from cameras all but blind you, yells of the people behind them making you want to yell right back.
You've been together for nearly three years, and the amount of red carpets you've attended was easily double that number. Despite that, your girlfriends nerves would act up each and every time. Her social anxiety was normally pretty easy for her to handle, but with people constantly yelling at you with nowhere to turn, it did tend to get the best of her.
You bend your head down, "Let's move on." You murmur in her ear, and she nods slightly as she pulls herself out of your arms and begins walking forward. You trail your eyes down her body as stops to take some solo pictures, noticing the way her hand trembles as it comes to rest on her hip. It immediately has you wanting to rescue her, and without hesitation that's what you do.
You'd learned early on that leaving Scarlett alone with her anxiety was probably one of the worst things you could do. She was an over thinker with a fragile ego, and that outwardly showed no matter how hard she tries to hide it.
You walk over to her and press a kiss to the side of her head, "Wanna hold my hand?" You offer as your hand comes to rest on the small of her back. You graze the pad of your thumb over the material or her dress in what you hoped was a soothing motion.
Scarlett looks up at you with a relieved grin as she just barely nods her head, and you immediately slide your hand into her own and give it a small squeeze.
As she heads over to her first interview of the night, you take your place stood slightly behind her as her silent support system. Your thumb trails soft circles over the back of her hand, and each time she visibly grew nervous, you'd her hand three soft squeezes.
I. Love. You.
It was returned almost instantly, and you smile softly as you look down at your intertwined hands. Hers were a little smaller than your own, adorned with two pretty rings you knew cost more to than your mortgage. You trail the pad of your thumb over the top of the one sat on her fourth finger, hoping one day it would be replaced by something more meaningful.
Soon, you were moving on to interview number two, and the same process follows. Throughout the entirety of the night, Scarletts hand doesn't once leave your own. Not during the interviews. The movie. The paparazzi pictures.
By the time you make it back to the car, it was nearing midnight, and you could tell she was exhausted. Premieres always seemed to take it out of her more than anything else did.
You knew when you got home it would be straight to bed. Well, as soon as you'd both showered anyway. You were also exhausted.
"You did good my love." you murmur as she rests her head against your shoulder, your hand resting on her bare thigh and giving it a soft squeeze.
In response, Scarlett hums quietly against the material of your dress before bringing your hand to her lips and kissing the skin tenderly, keeping it entwined with her own after pulling away.
"Thanks, baby." She murmurs sleepily, and the corners of your lips quirk up into a fond smile as you crane your neck to press a kiss to her forehead. As she leans more into you, you find yourself wrapping your arm around her body and pulling her as close as she could safely get.
Conversation was quiet and limited on the journey home, and the clock had struck nearly one in the morning when Scarlett's driver finally pulls the car into her driveway.
You don't think you've ever known such a slow driver. But then again, you couldn’t bring yourself to mind so much when he only had Scarlett’s safety in mind.
After thanking him and coaxing a half asleep Scarlett out of the car, you use the keypad to enter her home and immediately pull her through to the bathroom.
The silence was comforting as you help her out of her dress, soon finding yourself stood in the middle of the large shower with her in your arms.
Her bare frame was flush against your own, arms around your waist and fingers idly trailing over the skin at the small of your back. You had your arms over her shoulders, a single hand cupping the back of her head that had come to rest beneath your chin.
"I'm proud of you." You murmur over the sound of the shower water hitting the tiled floor, your hand beginning to comb through her wet hair in an attempt to rid of it it's tangles.
You feel Scarlett squeeze you closer to her as a silent acknowledgment of your words, and as her lips press against your collar bone in soothing kiss, you knew you had never loved anyone more.

As the cameras rolled, the set was buzzing with energy. The crew was rushing around, trying to make sure everything was perfect for the next scene. The other actors were getting into character, preparing themselves for the performance. Then there was you, playing the lead role in the newest hit rom-com that was predicted to break box-office records, and were you excited for the day ahead? Nope. You definitely were not – not with those aching sinuses and the constant need to sneeze looming at the back of your nose.
Atleast you had Scarlett with you though. Your girlfriend had been hired as one of the leading producers for the film so the two of you were able to spend a lot of your time together. As you readied yourself for your scene, she took her place, giving you an eager thumbs up before ‘action’ was called.
You tried your best to ignore the tickle in your nose and the pressure building in your head as you delivered your lines with enthusiasm. But then, in the middle of your monologue, you felt a sneeze coming on. You tried to suppress it, but it was no use – your body took over, and you sneezed loudly, causing the other actors to pause their lines and the crew to stare at you in surprise.
“Bless you!” You heard her voice call out, causing you to look over in her direction offering a small scrunch of your nose as you mouthed a ‘thank you’
You tried your best to focus on your lines and immerse yourself in your character, but your body had other ideas. You’d only managed to get some take done before your nose grew annoyed once more. You could feel the tickle in your nose growing stronger with every passing moment, and you knew it was only a matter of time before the inevitable sneeze came.
Sure enough, a few minutes into the next scene, you let out a loud, explosive sneeze that echoed throughout the set. You froze instantly, looking around to see if anyone had noticed. Scarlett shot you a concerned look from behind the camera, but you ignored it, determined to push through. But your sneezing didn't stop there. You sneezed again, and again, and again, each time feeling more and more drained. Finally, after what felt like hours but was probably only a few minutes, the scene was over, and you collapsed onto a nearby chair, coughing into your elbow whilst trying to ignore the worried looks of your colleagues.
Suddenly there was a hand rubbing against your back. “You ok, my sweetheart?” You felt Scarlett’s warm hand against your back as she rubbed it affectionately, “Something bothering that nose of yours?”
You tried to give her a reassuring smile, but it came out more like a grimace as you cleared your throat - though it did little to hide your obviously raspy voice, “It’s nothing, I don’t know why that keeps happening.”
“You getting sick maybe? There has been something going round.” Scarlett worried, that worry only increasing when you turned away to cough into your elbow, exhaustion plain on your face.
"I don't get colds," you replied defensively, trying to mask the stuffiness in your voice.
Scarlett raised an eyebrow. " Well, you're definitely sneezing a lot for someone who doesn't get colds. Why don't you take a break and rest for a bit? I can handle things here."
"No, it’s fine. I really don't get colds," you repeated stubbornly, trying to shrug off her touch when she brought her palm up to your forehead, "It's probably just allergies or something."
Scarlett gave you a skeptical look, but she didn't push it further. Instead, she went to talk to the director, explaining that you were feeling unwell and needed to take a break. Luckily your director was a kind soul and was more than understanding. Infact, he ended up telling Scarlett to just take you back the trailer – it was better than you accidently infecting anyone else with the cold you totally didn’t have.
As soon as she was given the go ahead, Scarlett quickly ushered you to a quiet corner of the studio, where she sat you down away from the looming eyes of you colleagues and brought over a glass of water along with some tissues. "You're not fooling anyone, you know," she said gently as she sat beside you, handing you the tissues. "You're clearly sick, and I know you don’t get sick often, I know but you are right now, so you need to starting taking care of yourself more baby. This isn’t good for you sweetie.”
You went to respond, ready to brush off her concerns but instead your nose spoke for you, “iishiew! Hih’tshoo!”
"Bless you. Look, I know you're trying to tough it out, but I'm worried about you. You need to rest," Scarlett said as her palm touched against your forehead once more, her thumb brushing against your eyebrows this time as she used her hand to shield your eyes from the harsh lights, "You're really burning up."
You groaned, feeling defeated. Scarlett was right - you were feeling worse than you wanted to admit. Maybe it was time to stop being so stubborn and take a break. "Okay, maybe you're right. You leaned further into her touch, feeling the coolness of her hand against your clammy forehead. "Okay, fine," you said, your voice a little hoarse now, "Maybe I do need to take a break."
Scarlett smiled, looking relieved. "Good. Let's get you back to the trailer and make you some soup or something. Whatever we do we’ll get you tucked up in bed and have you feeling better in no time I promise sweetheart."
As Scarlett led you away, you couldn't help but feel grateful for her support and concern. Even though you were stubbornly trying to ignore your illness, she was there to remind you that it was okay to take a break and take care of yourself. Maybe you weren't as invincible as you thought, but with Scarlett by your side, you knew you could get through anything.

Let's Go Home

〘 Check Out My Masterlist! 〙
╚════════ ⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋆✦⋆⋇ ════════╝
“I think you caught my cold sweetie.” You whispered softly as Scarlett turned away from the crowd of cameras to muffle yet another sneeze.
Now it wasn’t obvious yet, but her eyes were a little watery, and the skin beneath her reddish nose quivered a little as she sniffled and dabbed at it with a crumpled tissue, “There’s not exactly much that we can do about it though,” She whispered, clearing her throat a little, “We need to be here.”
Well, that was true. The pair of you were currently walking down the red carpet for the premiere of your latest movie which you’d both played in. Unfortunately, you’d had a cold yourself a few days ago and Scarlett had insisted on taking care of you the whole time, but her kindness seemed to have been paid back in a less than pleasant way.
Her head, already congested with cold-related fluids felt like it was spinning and swooning at 100 mph, and you couldn’t help but rub her back as she rested her chin on your shoulder, whining quietly at a volume only you could hear. In response to her low whimper, you turned away from all the prying cameras and offered her a soft, sympathetic look whilst kissing her warm cheek gently.
She wasn’t usually the type to suffer in silence, but right now, she had little choice especially with all the bright ever-watching cameras flashing in her eyes. The constant brightness only serving to make her dizzy. The light-headedness was making her feel like she was going to topple over. Like she had no energy left to face the onslaught of watching eyes. All you wanted to do was to whisk her away and tuck her up into bed where she could just relax without having to worry about a thing.
Unfortunately relaxing definitely wasn’t in the list of the things she had to do tonight. Not only did you have to get through the screening, but she’d also been booked for an exclusive interview with a major broadcaster meaning she had no way of getting out of it without causing a hassle, not to mention the multiple afterparty invites that she needed to politely decline.
The two of you were briefly parted as you both were drawn aside by different interviewers with their burning questions. You did try your best to answer yours in the best way possible, but it was especially hard when you could see Scarlett wearily rubbing her temples out of your peripheral vision as she talked to her interviewer. The poor thing looked exhausted, and your sympathy only increased when you heard Scarlett’s breath catch in her throat mid-answer, you turned just in time to see her raise a hand to the interviewer pausing him in place as she buried her nose into her thoroughly abused tissue, “Hh’tsxnt! Hhi’tschiew! Hhii’tshiew! Ugh, s’cuse me, this stupid cold won’t give me a break.”
There was a loud mumble of ‘bless you’s’ from the crowd and interviewer himself which led Scarlett to a little blush from embarrassment, and you quickly wrapped up your own before making your way back to her, coming behind her to wrap your arms around her front – an action which she instantly melted into. You continued to hold her as she sniffled her way through the rest of her interview. Once she was finished you told her to stay put as you quickly ran behind the main panels to where members of the backstage crew were waiting. It didn’t take you long to track down a box of tissues and you quickly shoved multiple handfuls into one of your pockets before thanking the team and quickly making your way back out to your waiting wife.
“Where did you go?” Scarlett asked once you’d retaken her hand back on the carpet, the rasp in her voice becoming a little more obvious now.
“I went to get you some more tissues, they’re in my pocket if you need any.” The grateful look that flashed across her face was unmissable and you ran your hand down her back in response.
A shiver crept down Scarlett's spine at your touch, her skin prickling as she felt you rub her back. It's an intimate moment, especially in front of all those people. You smiled and squeezed her hand a little as the pair of you continued down the carpet.
“Hh…hih..Hh’iishoo!” But Scarlett had to quickly whip around to face away from the cameras as she sneezed down into her hands, her face blushing an even darker shade of red once again.
“Bless you, my love.” You whispered, resting your hand on her shoulder and  she gingerly slid her hand down the side of your leg as she reached down into your pocket to retrieve one of the tissues, “You’re okay baby, take as many as you need, I can always go get you some more.” You assured her gently.
You stood infront of her as she blew her nose, you knew she was shy about these things, and once she was done, she let her head fall on the front of your chest, wrapping her arms around your waist, “I really don't feel well baby, everything’s all fuzzy.” She mumbled down against you with a little pout.
“Poor love,” You sighed before softly pressing your lips to her forehead, leaving them there for a second, “I think you're running a touch of a fever though sweetheart, you feel a little warm.”
She groaned a little realising you were probably right; it would explain how crappy she felt. She pressed her cheek against yours, the heat behind it seemed obvious now and you gave her another small kiss. To be honest you weren’t entirely confident that Scarlett would even make it 30 minutes into the screening before falling asleep – she seemed so tired already - you placed a tender hand to her cheek prompting her to look over at you as you offered, “Do you want to go home my love? I know that tonight’s really important, but your health takes priority and sweetie you really don’t look well, being here is only making things worst and I doubt anyone here wants to catch this either.”
“But- what about-” She tried to object but was stopped by a thick set of coughing which made her lungs feel like they were cracking so with a sigh she gave in, “Y/N, I want to go home,” Scarlett said through thick sniffles. It’s impossible for her to suppress another chilly shudder as your touch draws a whimper from her.
“Let’s go home then, sweetheart,” You said, kissing her forehead again, “I’ll sort everything out once we get you back in the car, our managers will be able to handle things.” It was then that the two of you stopped caring about the press and walked straight down the rest of the carpet towards the exit, ignoring the calls of your names whilst the watching crowd followed your every move with hungry eyes. But neither of you cared anymore. The press could think what they liked, taking care of your wife took priority and nothing would ever change that.
