Tech how-to article written like a recipe. Is that anything? Fuck it.
Old-Fashioned Setting Up a Password Manager
For this project you will need:
One computer
One full-featured browser
One pre-made email account, not shared and logged-in
2-5 possible passwords
5-10 accounts to get started with storing passwords.
Before you begin pre-load your computer, logging in to your email account. You can save later prep time by having your primary social media accounts, banking information, email account, and online bills ready to hand.
Go to bitwarden.com and select "create account"; be sure to select "free account" - you can jazz it up later but we're learning the basics now.
Create the account using your primary email address as the login name and one long (but not complicated!) password that you are certain you can remember but is not widely shared online. This is a great way to use information about your favorite movies or songs, not a great place for your kid's or pet's names.
Set up your password hint with a good reminder; be sure to note any punctuation you added, for instance a comma to separate lines of a song or an exclamation point between words of a movie title.
Verify your email account with the password manager, then set up a new password for your email. You may need a phone or access to your extant 2FA tools for this step. Create a login in the password manager, add your email address, and generate a new password, then save the entry. Go to your email account, select "security" and "change password" - enter your old password to confirm then paste your new password manager generated password into the provided text boxes, and save. Log out of your email account, then log back in with your new password. You will need to do this on all of your devices, so make sure you're using a password manager that is accessible across platforms - Bitwarden is recommended for a reason, this is a place where you don't want to skimp when making substitutions!
Repeat the process of resetting passwords to taste; you don't need to do everything all at once, but it's best to start with a serving of 5-8 to get used to the process.
Time: 30min to 2hr DOE Expense: Literally Free Value: Priceless i never have to remember a fucking password again and now neither do you.

JUST GO TO SLEEP ALREADY!
characters. neuvillette & wriothesley x gn!reader genre. romantic fluff. an. preparing for my new school term............ thoughts n prayers peace n love | please reblog!! im getting back into writing and reblogs with tags and comments will make me want to write more :D
Tumblr media
neuvillette, who watches you almost work yourself to the brink of tears because of your exams...
he doesn't... exactly know how to react. should he leave you alone? should he ask you to go to bed? was this even normal, in the first place?
after watching the circles under your eyes get more and more defined, he makes up his mind.
"my dear, please, for your own health's sake... go to sleep. i promise that things will be better for you when you wake up refreshed."
but this won't do! your paper needs to be turned in tomorrow night, and you've barely written the first 1000 words. it's not alright.
you want to cry.
neuvillette notices it, though. he sits down next to you, not saying a word.
"i'm stressed, neuvillette." you mumble, looking down at your laptop.
"i know that. but i can assure you that you're not going to get anything done when you're in such a state. i hate to see your sunshine get dulled, my dove – i promise, that when we wake up, i'll work with you." he smiles so sweetly, you want to burst into tears right then and there.
okay, maybe you did burst into tears right then and there.
he gathers you in his arms, wiping your tears away with his thumb. his voice is sweet and compassionate, his words contrasting his being – "i don't know what to say." turns into something that was exactly what you needed.
for a person who doesn't understand the complexity of human emotions and how they work ... neuvillette cares for you in a way that's wonderful.
"alright, alright, i'll go to bed. you promise you'll work with me tomorrow?" you sleepily whine, rubbing the remnants of your tears away from your eyes and closing your laptop.
"i promise, my dear."
Tumblr media
wriothesley, who stares at you staring at your laptop. he's convinced that you haven't moved from that position in... maybe an hour?
were you even alive at this point?
no
"can you please just stop working and get to bed already?" wriothesley sighs.
"but i can't! it's due tomorrow. and i'm literally, like, about halfway through." you rub your eyes.
wriothesley wants to roll his eyes goodnaturedly at you. but he doesn't. he loves you too much for that, especially when you're too exhausted to comprehend anything else.
"alright, fine. but i'll stay here with you. would you like tea?" he runs his fingers through his hair, getting up from his position.
wriothesley doesn't wait for you to say anything – he knows what you want. he breaks out the selection of teas he kept in his office, going through each one to see which had caffeine and which doesn't.
he eventually returns to your working area, a pot of tea in one hand and two cups precariously stacked on top of one another. it's steaming hot, and he sets it down gently.
it's quiet and peaceful. there's nothing but the low hum of wriothesley humming a calming tune, and the sound of you typing away.
the tea doesn't seem to be working, though? your eyes grow heavier and your head seems to find its place on his shoulder. you swear, there's a soft hint of a smile on wriothesley's face.
his smile seems almost like a smirk.
and then it clicks.
"you planned this all along." you pout, rubbing your eyes tiredly. the tea that was chosen wasn't caffeinated, and his sweet humming... it was the perfect mix to lull you to sleep.
"of course i did. go to sleep, (y/n)." he chuckles, saving your essay and closing your laptop for you.
okay, maybe sleep did sound good ... especially if he carried you back to bed later.

aka: AU in which Vlad genuinely hates both Jack and Maddie and has attempted to cut them out of his life completely, but then it turns out the only other halfa is their kid, and Vlad becomes convinced God hates him specifically.
Contrary to canon, in this AU it's only Vlad's moral compass that is askew, his marbles remain mostly accounted for, and as such Vlad directs all his villainous urges to robbing banks and exploiting the working class, but he never gets too invested in elaborate revenge-murder plans. After his "best friends" abandoned him, and left him to rot strapped to a hospital bed, Vlad decides it's best to 1) cut off all contact from those two (and pretend they didn't do it first) and 2) use his new-found powers to show the world how much better off he is without those "wannabe scientists" in his (half)life. Point '2' eventually expands to amassing powers in the Ghost Zone.
Well, since Vlad isn't exactly luck's favorite guy, it turns out Jack and Maddie have found a way to reach out to him after all... One day Vlad is startled by a call from an unknown number to his personal phone, that none but a select few even know of, and when he picks up to yell at whoever is on the other side, he's greeted by the worst sound he's heard in years- Jack's voice. Jack informs Vlad that him and Maddie still have a box of his old things from college, and not so subtly begs him to come over and pick it up, so they have an excuse to meet up and chat for "old time's sake". Vlad only accepts so he can maybe, possibly, have a chance to punch him right in the face in front of his wife and kids.
The visit plan is simple: Show up, get the box, unleash years of repressed anger in one short rant, punch Jack in the face, threaten the Fentons with legal action if they ever even think of contacting him again, take a moment of silence for the horrible parenting those poor kids have to live with, leave and never ever look back again.
But life (especially if you're only living half of it) can never be that simple. Shortly after Vlad leaves to go back to his car, his attention is caught by a bright flash- of none other than Daniel Fenton changing out of his ghost form, after getting the daylights beaten out of him by some ghost in a dark alley. Because of course the only other half-ghost in existence would be the son of the two people Vlad wants nothing to do with And of course he would need Vlad to save him on the exact day he finally got to sever the ties with them for good.
So now Vlad has an overly enthusiastic hero-wannabe glued to his side asking him for advice on his ghost powers, and what's even worse- begging him to give Jack and Maddie another chance, because "They may be a little reckless, but they're good people, I swear!!"
Fate is a bitch, and the only reason god let Vlad live after the accident is so he could torment him for a little longer....

tags. rin x gn!reader, 1.9k wc, reader and rin are 21, reader is a uni student and rin is a pro!soccer player, reader wears makeup and a dress, mentions of liquor and food, kissing lol, unestablished relationship, ooc rin mb, happy birthday rin (i am late but better late than never)
Tumblr media
“sir, have you made a booking for tonight?”
in celebration of rin’s twenty-first birthday, you messaged him a couple of days ago that you’d treat him to a dinner at a restaurant which you quoted as “nice”.
considering that you would pay for the meal with your measly college student income you earn from regular shifts at a local clothing retailer, rin expected that this “nice” restaurant would just be the local sushi bar you two usually visit.
except, right now, he’s confused that he found himself at the entrance of a sumptuous restaurant, hearing the clinking of wine glasses in the background.
“my friend did. under [surname]?”
as of now, rin’s doubtful about two things—one, your ability to pay for this meal (rin noticed on the menu that they served foie gras here—that indicates something), and two, if this is the correct location of the restaurant you booked for. as the server is scrolling through the list of reservations on the tablet, rin’s typing up a message to ask if this michelin star restaurant was the “nice” restaurant you referred to in your message.
“yes, i see it,” the server confirmed, smiling politely as she gestured a hand into the restaurant. “please follow me this way, sir.”
rin’s fighting the urge to make a face of astonishment as he followed the server into the restaurant, slipping his phone back into the pocket of his coat. like any other luxury restaurant, there were multiple tables left vacant, and tables that were occupied were seated by couples in lavish cocktail dresses or suits.
there’s fine china exhibited around the restaurant and french art pieces nailed to the walls, and rin’s beginning to worry about the balance left in your bank account after paying for this meal that’s bound to be exorbitantly priced.
the server then motioned her hand again to the table where you were, gently waving with a smile. before he took the seat opposite of you, rin quickly thanked the server with a brief bow.
there was a teasing smile dancing upon your lips. “surprised?”
technically, tonight, rin was the main character—but you certainly stole the show. the silk slip dress you wore delicately hugged your figure whilst complementing your skin tone, and with the light makeup that enhanced your beauty even more, rin was entranced by you.
and he hoped you can’t see how the tips of his ears had a pink tint.
“happy birthday, rin.”
“thank you. you dressed up nicely,” he commented, clearing his throat as he glances at the menu once.
“i tried my best.” a soft sigh fell from your lips as you patted your dress down. “i figured it’d be wrong if i wore ordinary clothes to such a fancy place. i’ve been saving up to treat you to something like this, so you better enjoy yourself tonight.”
“you don't have to.”
“i do.” rin watched you fidget with the charm on your necklace as you spoke. “you’ve always brought me to nice places to eat, and you keep buying me expensive things.”
“only because you deserve them.” a waiter arrived at your table with a bottle of ruinart rosé that rin assumed you ordered as he opened the bottle with a loud “pop”.
after the waiter poured you a glass, rin watched the liquor cascade into his glass, noticing how the delicate foam fizzes as it sits atop the liquid. the waiter lifted the bottle away once it filled two-thirds of rin’s glass, and placed the bottle on the table.
you and rin said your thanks to the waiter, and he bowed again before returning to his duties in the kitchen.
“they said this champagne isn’t too sweet,” you mentioned, taking the glass into your hands. “hopefully you’ll like it.”
rin hesitated as he took a sip of the champagne, humming softly to let you that he approved of your selection of liquor. as an athlete who avoided alcohol for his health, and detested the bitter taste of beer, rin sure enjoyed the subtle notes of lemon and apple as he took another sip.
and as he watched your face light up at your serving of the aromatic champagne, rin’s unaware that the sides of his lips curved upward.
settling the wine glass down, rin waited for you to initiate a conversation. “it’s been a while since we last hung out—how has training been?”
both of you had busy schedules that never aligned, and with you being a third-year college student (you also returned from your month-long overseas trip only a week ago), and rin as a professional soccer player, meeting up has been difficult.
you reckon you’re lucky to be able to catch him for a meal, but rin had purposely declined all other gatherings with his friends just to make sure that he gets to see you today.
“it’s fine. we’re just preparing for the upcoming game. how’s school been?”
“tiring,” you quietly groaned. “school’s always gonna be a little bit of a bitch. the content’s getting a lot harder too, so i’m spending even more time on school work.”
”have you been sleeping enough?” knowing your horrible tendency of pulling all-nighters to get work done, rin hoped that lately you’ve been able to rest well, and perhaps begin fixing that terrible habit of yours.
you nodded your head eagerly. “mm hmm! i slept seven hours last night—are you proud?”
a short laugh slipped past his mouth as his heart clenched at how adorable you were. “yeah, sure.”
seeming to be proud that you’ve made rin laugh, a smile broke from your glossy lips. for a moment, the ceiling lights illuminated your face, and rin realised that recently, he’s forgotten just how beautiful you are.
“i've missed you, rin,” you confessed, voice thickly coated in sincerity. "it’s nice that we’re able to meet up tonight to celebrate your birthday.”
it’s like there were butterflies carouseling in his stomach, performing cartwheels and other aerobic routines when you claimed that you’ve missed him. his heart was violently drumming against his ribcage, and he’s conscious of the heat that’s blossoming in his face, but rin’s terrific at masking his feelings.
“i’ve missed you too.” rin admitted that it was an understatement—hell, his thoughts circled around you every morning as he’s eating breakfast, and every night as he’s winding down for the day. just a week ago, seeing your instagram stories made him glad that you were having fun on in another country, but his heart longed for your return to japan.
“i'm happy that the feeling’s mutual, then.” no. rin’s certain that he’s missed you way more than you’ve missed him—after all, to you, he was probably just a friend from high school and nothing more.
perhaps what rin regretted most now was that he didn’t reciprocate your romantic feelings for him when the two of you were in high school. back then, he was even more aloof, regarding each of his peers with disdain after he and sae found themselves in a dispute that severed their bond. each minute of his day was devoted to soccer, and if something, or someone, did not benefit his improvement in the sport, then it was simply insignificant.
though rin’s thankful that his past self dedicated his entire existence towards soccer, a part of him wondered what the outcome would have been if he’d realised earlier that you embodied his definition of perfection.
but now, as adults who are legally drinking champagne from refined wine glasses and sitting across from each other just as friends, rin’s heart was unfulfilled, to be frank.
shortly after a waiter left your table with your orders placed, rin gets up from his seat. “i’m just gonna ask him where the bathroom is.”
you sent him a nod as rin followed the same waiter, pulling out his wallet from his pocket. “excuse me?”
the waiter turned around. “how may i help you, sir?”
“i’d like to pay for what we’ve ordered now,” he said, pulling out a credit card from the slit in his leather wallet. “is that alright?”
Tumblr media
after minutes of admonishing rin for paying for his own birthday dinner, you returned to him with his mug of hot tea and a look of disapproval.
“do you know how bad i feel right now? i feel fucking awful that you had to pay for a dinner that was stupidly overpriced—and the fact that it was a dinner to celebrate your birthday makes me feel even more guilty!”
since dinner had ended earlier than you anticipated, you invited rin to your apartment, insisting he stay for a while because you were keen to show him how well you’ve decorated your new place.
but right now, it feels more like a dreary session of your lecturing than a house tour.accepting the tea you’ve poured for him, rin takes it in his hands.
“[name], it’s alright. we can just go out for dinner again.”
you don’t look impressed with his response. “i’m just gonna transfer the money to your account.”
settling the tea down, rin’s fascinated at how adamant you can be. “[name], no.”
as you reached for your phone on the kitchen counter, rin seized both your wrists, holding them above your head as he’s laughing. “h-hey—itoshi rin!”
“i’ll let go if you promise not to pay me back.”
“but it's your birthday! i can't let you do that!”
“because it’s my birthday, i can do whatever i want. so please,” rin said as he lowered your wrists. “let me pay. i know you’ve worked hard for the money you have now.”
“but so have you.”
“i know, but this is different. i don’t have college fees to pay for—you do.”
rin’s grip on your wrists loosened a bit as you let out another sigh. “now i feel indebted to you.”
“you’re not though. there’s no need for you to feel that way.”
you suddenly fell quiet, and it almost seemed like you were mustering up some courage to look into his eyes. “i-i mean, i have one more gift for you.”
“you do?”
“yeah,” you muttered, averting your gaze from him momentarily. “if you don’t like it, you can throw it away. i won’t be hurt.”
rin nodded his head as he looked around the kitchen, searching for an item that perhaps resembled a wrapped gift. “alright. where is it?”
“shut your eyes.”
as rin closed his eyes, he’s thinking of potential gifts that you could have gotten for him. a new pair of soccer boots? or maybe a new coat for the coming winter since you’ve mentioned previously that you liked it most when rin wore bla—
the last thing he could have ever thought of as your gift was a kiss from you; the taste of faux strawberries is what he’s greeted with when you pressed your lips against his.
and when you’re about to pull away, rin only leaned in closer, catching your lips to kiss them once again.
except this time round, you could taste the fervour he’s kept from you all this time.
his hands shyly rested on the sides of your waist, and rin supposed you could already tell he’s been yearning for your affection by how violently each his heart was beating.
rin could still taste the bitter notes of the champagne that lingered from dinner, and while he’s drowning in the dainty sweetness of your perfume, your fingertips seared the skin on his neck.
nothing beyond the walls of your apartment seemed to matter right now—especially not when rin’s savouring every second of your gift with every fibre of his being.

saw this post once (i genuinely have NO idea whose post it was and i wish i could credit it but i can't remember for the life of me) that said that jay is the typa guy to grab your phone from you when you get sent an unsolicited dick pic and send one back, thus completely humiliating the owner of the other picture. just... can't stop thinking about it... help...
Oh…oh, my head is suddenly empty, no thoughts only this,
**
“You’re not paying attention to me.” Jason whines, soft fingers tugging insistently at your sleeve. He rubs his thumb over the back of your hand and theres a quick flare of something fond and affectionate at the action. “I’m your best friend, you’re supposed to lavish me with attention and laugh at my jokes.”
You think he’s sweet when he’s needy and your mouth waters with the taste of sugar when Jason plasters himself to your back, arms thrown over your shoulders to tug you in close.
“If you don’t give me attention, I’m getting you a mug saying ‘worlds worst friend’.” Jason threatens, chin resting on your shoulder. “Are you even listening to me?”
The message notification flashes up on your phone screen whilst you’re in the middle of jabbing your finger on little cross in the top corner of the screen to get rid of a pop up add.
It opens up a picture message from the guy you went on one date with a few days ago and you recoil in shock, the back of your head nearly smashing Jason in the face.
Behind you, Jason goes deathly still, “Is that what I think it is?”
“Yup.” You confirm.
Swooping in with the grace of a seagull scrounging for food, Jason yanks your phone out of your hand and takes off in a sprint through your apartment.
“Jay! What the fuck are you doing?” You exclaim, kicking yourself into a run to try and catch him. You’re not quick enough and Jason launches himself into your bathroom and locks the door. “Please tell me you’re not jerking off to that.”
A shout of horror echoes through the door and you cackle.
“Uh excuse me, my spank bank consists of only the finest photos and videos. None of which, contain whatever the fuck this is.”
Resting your shoulder on the wall beside the door you wait impatiently for him to come out of the bathroom.
“You best not be going through my nudes.” You say, mouth tipped up in a grin. “Those are for a select audience only.”
Jason swears loudly and grumbles out your name, “You really at the worst friend in the world. We’re supposed to share everything and I find out you’re withholding sexy pictures from me? For shame.”
Rolling your eyes Jason unlocks the door after a few minutes and hands your phone back. There’s a soft flush to his cheeks but he gives you a wolffish grin when you unlock your phone and stare, mouth agape at his response to the message.
“Why am I looking at your dick?” You point out, struggling to resist the urge to save the photo to your own spank bank. “Why am i so turned on all of a sudden?”
“Gotta show him what a real dick looks like.” Jason shrugs, like he hasn’t just ruined your entire sex life with one photo. “And what can I say, I’m gifted. Now…you’ve seen a naughty pic of me, how about you show me one of yours?”

how to transfer your old pokemon to pokemon home before it's too late!!!
the wi-fi services for the nintendo 3DS and WiiU are shutting down in early april 2024, and while it specifically lists pokemon bank and poke transporter as being available post-shutdown, there is no guarantee of how long that may be for. there will likely come a time when these services shut down, and it could be in the relatively near future.
it is also pretty much impossible now to transfer pokemon to the switch's Home service with alternative methods such as PKHeX (popular pokemon save editor for the uninformed) due to the implementation of server-side Home IDs tracking pokemon at all times - the details of that aren't super important for this post, but point is, whenever bank shuts down, unless nintendo makes an offline way to transfer to home, it will be impossible to move pokemon from the old gens to the new, even with alternative/hack-y methods.
i write this guide with the intention of making this process easier for people since transferring pokemon has changed so much over the past two decades that it's a bit of a mess, and in a timely manner to give people time to finish the process. i'll be organizing by generation so feel free to skip to any part of the guide you need. (keep in mind that transferring is permanent, your pokemon cannot go back afterwards!!)
(by the way it would mean a lot to me if you weren't overwhelmingly negative of pokemon in the tags/reblogs. i get that pokemon transferring being an online service sucks but reading that stuff in my notifications constantly is really tiring </3 make ur own post to talk about that)
to walk you through, i'll be transferring this random shiny spinda i hatched in emerald version all the way up to pokemon home. her name is Moss :]

below the cut since this is long as fuck sorry LOL
GEN 1/2 -> 3 (aka RBY/GSC -> RSE/FRLG)
this is impossible! as for the Virtual Console releases of the gen 1/2 games on 3DS, more on that later in the gen 5 -> 6/7 section.
GEN 3 -> 4 (aka RSE/FRLG -> DPPT/HGSS)
what you need:
a copy of RSE or FRLG
a copy of DPPT or HGSS in the same language as the RSE/FRLG copy that has beaten the champion and has access to post-game areas, preferably HGSS because it lets you transfer unlimited times as opposed to DPPT's once-per-24-hours limit (unless you happen to have korean DPPT/HGSS, which is not language locked in terms of transferring)
either an original DS or a DS lite, the old ones with the GBA slot at the bottom
the steps:
#1. you can only transfer 6 pokemon at a time, so get whatever 6 pokemon you want to transfer up together in gen 3. if you're intending to transfer less than 6 pokemon, you'll need to catch some extras since you have to transfer the full 6 every time (i usually just catch a bunch of extra mons on the first route, which is what i've done here with the poochyenas/wurmples)
Tumblr media
#2. put the gen 3 game into the GBA slot of the DS, and the gen 4 game into the DS slot. both games should appear on the home menu after turning on the DS.
#3. load the DS game and spam A past the title screen. before loading your save, scroll down. you should see a "MIGRATE FROM (GAME NAME HERE)" option. if you don't, either the GBA game isn't reading properly, or you have not visited Pal Park in your gen 4 game of choice. in HGSS, the Pal Park is located in Fuchsia City, and in DPPT, the Pal Park is located at the end of Route 221 below Sandgem Town.
Tumblr media
#4. select the aforementioned migration option and pick the pokemon you want to transfer.
#5. navigate to the Pal Park and complete the Catching Show, where you re-catch your transferred pokemon in the wild. this does not overwrite what pokeballs they were originally caught in! you will need to bring a pokemon with Surf if you have any Pokemon that spawn in the water areas. you can check what location the pokemon you transferred will be in on bulbapedia.
Tumblr media
#6. say yes to storing the caught pokemon in your PC boxes and they'll be there!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
important things to note:
pokemon with HM moves will be blocked from transfer, so make sure to use the Move Deleter to remove HM moves from any pokemon you're transferring in gen 3 before trying to transfer. in RSE, the Move Deleter is in Lilycove City, and in FRLG they are in Fuchsia City.
gen 3 -> 4 is the only step in the transfer process where held items transfer up as well, meaning that if you attach a valuable item such as a rare candy, master ball, or TM to a transferred pokemon, you can take it off that pokemon and put it in your bag in the gen 4 game.
an aside about colosseum/XD gale of darkness on gamecube:
you can transfer pokemon from colo/XD as well! unfortunately you'll need to have beaten colo/XD, and then you will also need to beat the gen 3 game... in FRLG, you even have to complete the postgame ruby/sapphire quest on the sevii islands to unlock trading with the gamecube games. once you do all that though, you can navigate to the pokemon center basement in Phenac City to trade with your gen 3 GBA title. to do this, you'll need a gamecube or wii with gamecube compatibility, a GBA (or GBA SP), and a GCN -> GBA link cable to connect the two consoles.
GEN 4 -> 5 (aka DPPT/HGSS -> BW/BW2)
what you need:
a copy of DPPT/HGSS
a copy of BW or BW2 in the same language as DPPT/HGSS copy that has beaten the champion (or N in the original BW) and has access to post-game areas.
two DS consoles of any kind (3DS is also fine!)
the steps:
#1. get the pokemon you want to transfer together in your gen 4 game's PC boxes. you can only transfer 6 pokemon at a time. if you have less than 6, catch some extra pokemon, since you need to transfer the full 6 every time. save it and turn off the DS with the gen 4 game.
#2. turn on your gen 5 game and navigate to the Poke Transfer Lab. personally i just fly to Black City/White Forest and head west.
Tumblr media
#3. talk to the NPC in the lab to start the transfer process. you will be prompted to turn on your other DS again and open DS Download Play with your gen 4 game inserted. do that and download the Poke Transfer app that comes up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
#4. select the 6 Pokemon you want to transfer when prompted.
#5. play the transfer minigame! just drag the... bow? (lol) on the bottom screen to aim your pokeballs. there's technically a time limit, but it's very generous, and your final score doesn't matter.
Tumblr media
#6. say yes to transferring the pokemon once you're done and they'll be placed in your PC boxes!
Tumblr media
important things to note:
pokemon with HM moves will be blocked from transfer, so make sure to use the Move Deleter to remove HM moves from any pokemon you're transferring in gen 4 before trying to transfer. in DPPT they're in Canalave City, and in HGSS they're in Blackthorn City.
the level the pokemon was obtained at and the date it was obtained is changed upon transfer to gen 5 - it will have the met date of your DS clock and the met level of the level it was at the time of transfer. if you'd like to preserve a pokemon's met date, make sure to change the DS clock to the proper date.
GEN 5 -> 6/7 (aka BW/BW2 -> 3DS TITLES/BANK)
what you need:
a copy of BW/BW2
a copy of any 3DS pokemon game (XY/ORAS/SUMO/USUM)
a 3DS (or 2DS, i'll just be referring to them all as 3DSes here) with the poke transporter and pokemon bank apps installed. these were free apps that were once downloadable from the 3DS eShop, but the 3DS eShop is no longer available, so if you don't already have them installed you will need to explore alternate methods, AKA hacking your 3DS and injecting them in. that's outside the scope of this guide but you can find more information here on 3ds.hacks.guide. (do not attempt to follow any 3DS hacking guide not on this website, they could be outdated and harm your 3DS!)
a nintendo network ID that your 3DS is logged into (also outside the scope of this guide but if you don't already have one, it will prompt you during the process to make one)
internet connection
the steps:
#1. poke transporter defaults to trying to transfer every pokemon located in Box 1 of your PC, so go into your gen 5 game and put every pokemon you want to transfer into Box 1, and take anything you don't want to transfer out. if you want to transfer more pokemon than you can fit in one box, you'll have to transfer multiple times.
Tumblr media
#2. open poke transporter with your gen 5 game inserted into the 3DS' cartridge slot. after pressing A through some menus and selecting the gen 5 game when prompted, it should ask if you want to transfer the pokemon in Box 1, with a preview of the pokemon inside. confirm and let it do its thing. after poke transporter is finished, the pokemon you transferred will be in the special Transport Box in bank.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
#3. make sure you either have a 3DS pokemon title downloaded onto your 3DS, or swap out your gen 5 cart for one, it doesn't matter which.
#4. close out of poke transporter and navigate to pokemon bank. at the time of writing this guide, bank is still online and is free for everyone without a subscription - the main menu has an infinite "free trial" period number.
#5. select "use pokemon bank" and pick a 3DS game to connect with when prompted. it doesn't matter which one, but if you're looking to see your pokemon in a gen 6/7 game right now, pick the one you want to move it into. viewing a pokemon in a gen 6/7 game isn't required to move to home later, though!
#6. the Transport Box is located one box to the left of Box 1 - navigate to it and drag your pokemon out into a normal bank box. now you can move them to any gen 6/7 pokemon game you want, or home later!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
important things to note:
even though bank connects with both gen 6 and gen 7 games, once you place a pokemon into a gen 7 game (SUMO/USUM), you cannot transfer that pokemon back to a gen 6 game (XY/ORAS), so be careful!
an aside about the VC releases of RBY/GSC:
poke transporter can also be used to transfer pokemon out of the VC releases of RBY/GSC. these pokemon are changed pretty heavily, converting all their old gen data into pokemon's modern data structure. you can find more information about all the changes/conversions made on bulbapedia. these pokemon are considered gen 7 pokemon afterwards, and cannot be moved into XY/ORAS. pokemon with held items also cannot be transferred from VC titles and will fail to transfer.
if you want to transfer pokemon from cartridge RBY/GSC and have a save dumping device, it is possible to inject the cartridge's save file into the VC versions with Checkpoint on a hacked 3DS and then transfer that way. for GSC specifically, you'll need to edit your save slightly to make it compatible with VC GSC's save format. i personally made a converter for that here that you're free to use in-browser.
GEN 6/7 -> GEN 8+ (aka BANK -> HOME)
what you need:
a 3DS (or 2DS, i'll just be referring to them all as 3DSes here) with the pokemon bank app installed. this was a free app that was once downloadable from the 3DS eShop, but the 3DS eShop is no longer available, so if you don't already have it installed you will need to explore alternate methods, AKA hacking your 3DS and injecting it in. that's outside the scope of this guide but you can find more information here on 3ds.hacks.guide. (do not attempt to follow any 3DS hacking guide not on this website, they could be outdated and harm your 3DS!)
a nintendo network ID that your 3DS is logged into (also outside the scope of this guide but if you don't already have one, it will prompt you during the process to make one)
a switch with Pokemon Home installed, which can be downloaded for free from the switch's eShop. a nintendo switch online subscription is not required.
unfortunately, you WILL need a subscription to home's premium plan to do bank -> home transfers.
internet connection
the steps:
#1. open pokemon bank and make sure all the pokemon you want to transfer are in their own boxes, and any you don't want to transfer are not in the same boxes as the to-be-transferred pokemon.
Tumblr media
#2. go back to the bank home menu and select the "move pokemon to pokemon home" option. when you get the notice about the transfer being one-way, you'll need to scroll down to hit "Begin".
Tumblr media
#3. you will be prompted to select what boxes of pokemon you'd like to transfer, so pick all the applicable ones.
Tumblr media
#4. you will then be prompted to put in the moving key from home, so turn on your switch, open pokemon home, and select the icon that looks like a 3DS on the main menu. when prompted, choose "Ready!" to get the moving key.
#5. input the moving key on the 3DS, submit it, and wait for both apps to do their thing. once bank goes back to its title screen, you can turn off the 3DS.
Tumblr media
#6. home will go back to its title screen as well, and depending on how many pokemon you moved, you may have to wait a few minutes to get back into the app. once it's done, the next time you open home, it'll prompt you to choose how to organize your transferred pokemon into home. pick whatever you see fit.
#7. congratulations, your pokemon are safe in home!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
important things to note:
unlike all pokemon games before the switch, pokemon can actually go backwards in generation on switch, so don't worry about transferring a pokemon into scarlet/violet locking you out of moving it to sword/shield, for example. (the exception to this is LGPE - nothing can be moved into LGPE and once a pokemon is moved out of LGPE, it can't go back.)
pokemon home actually has decent hack checks, so be careful when transferring hacked/glitched/otherwise illegitimate pokemon around.
pokemon from a gen 3/4 game will have their met location set to "Poke Shifter" - this is an alternative translation of the japanese name for the Poke Transporter.
pokemon on switch can only transfer into games that contain that pokemon in its dex, so not everything transferred can go into scarlet/violet, for example.
and that's it!!
there's a lot of other quirks to the pokemon transferring process at pretty much all steps, so if you run into an unusual issue or have specific questions about how pokemon data is changed in minute ways across the franchise, i would encourage you to do your own research, all of this stuff is pretty heavily documented by the fanbase. this is just meant to be a guide for casual users, and a quick reference.
this guide of course does not cover options for transferring in alternative ways, but it's worth mentioning that if you have a hacked 3DS and the ability to back up save files at any point from gens 3 -> 5, you can use PKHeX to transfer pokemon into the 3DS titles, then move them to bank and transfer to home normally from there. that's outside the scope of this guide and i'd also encourage you to do your own research for that.
happy transferring!

Coin
They say when you travel to take a bag of coins. When you have to wade through a river, they say, you should toss a coin into the rushing waters to pay toll to the river spirit, bringing good luck and calming the waters enough to allow you to cross safely.
Of course, a bag of coins can only go so far, but the spirits are forgiving. Show them an empty bag that once contained coins, and they understand you have crossed many rivers, and to them, that earns you favor. They will be happy to help you negotiate a different form of payment, should you find yourself unable to pay the toll.
They’re good at mimicking humans, practically indistinguishable save for never-dry, strangely incorporeal androgynous bodies with blue-toned skin and deep sea-blue eyes that sparkle with inhuman power. You could almost be fooled into thinking they were just another human. Almost.
It’s always strange the first time, watching them pull themselves from the water, leaving damp footprints behind them in the mud, and shape the water that composes them into a cock or a hole that seems to perfectly mold with your own. They know you better than any human ever could, pushing you down on your back in the grass with the gentle but persistent force of flowing water, making sure you’re comfortable before showing you why explorers practically never have enough coins by their own count.
Your satisfaction is enough payment for them. Knowing they’ve satisfied you in a way a human never could and never will is more than enough.
Of course, there are those who are arrogant and don’t feel the need to pay tolls. They soon find that their tolls will be paid one way or another, and learn first-hand that nature spirits are not to be trifled with.
They don’t just mimic humans, as an unfortunate explorer quickly learns when they’re confronted with a serpent-like creature with glowing eyes and a toothy mouth, longer than a rope and thicker than a tree.
The lucky ones are simply pulled within the mouths, held within a fluid body as the spirit dives back into its river, dashing its victim against rocks and tree roots before releasing it, injured and with a valuable lesson.
Less lucky explorers may be grappled, the massive watery body coiling around the tiny human as the spirit noses at their skin, teasing a selected hole with a gargantuan prehensile cock before working it deep into them, filling them with pure essence of spirit and a primal, inhuman need to go to the nearest river.
Once they arrive at their destination, frenzied with instinct, they are simply coiled again as a second spirit draws the essence from them before depositing them weak and unconscious upon the river bank to pay toll when they wake, the river beginning to fork as a new spirit is created from the process…

10 ways to look good on a budget 💸
before we begin. I just wanna thank y’all for 650 followers 🤍🤍 love y’all so much
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shop at thrift stores and yard sales: Thrift stores offer a wide range of clothes, accessories and even furniture at reduced prices. While you may not always find brand-new items, there is typically a good selection of high-quality items at great prices. Many thrift stores also offer regular discounts or sale days, so it pays to check back frequently for new items and deals. Yard sales are another great place to find bargain items. While they're typically seasonal and require more effort in digging through piles of items, yard sales often offer the most affordable prices.
Wear what you have: The majority of our wardrobes are full of items we rarely wear or have only worn once or twice. Instead of buying new, look through your closet and see what you already have that you may not have worn in a while. Consider creating new outfits with the items you already have, mixing and matching to create a new style. This not only saves money, it reduces waste and helps you make the most of what you already have.
Buy timeless staples: Building a wardrobe of high-quality, versatile items can help you look good on a budget. Look for classic, simple pieces like a white t-shirt, a well-cut pair of jeans, or a classic black dress. Investing in quality items that will last will save you money in the long run, as you'll be wearing them for years to come.
Take care of your clothes: How you treat your clothes can determine how long they last. Always follow the care instructions on the label, and don't be afraid to hand-wash items if necessary. You can help reduce any damage by investing in a good de-piller, and avoiding the dryer whenever possible.
Accessorize: Accessories can elevate any outfit, transforming what was once a simple look into a stylish one. Look for pieces you can mix and match, like a neutral handbag or a set of simple gold studs. Accessories are a great way to add interest to an outfit without breaking the bank.
Shop sales and clearance racks: The end of season sales can be a great way to find bargain items. Look for items that are on sale or marked down, especially at the end of a season when stores are trying to make room for new merchandise. Look in the bargain bins as well. You never know what gem you may find hiding in plain sight.
Join loyalty programs or use coupons: Loyalty programs are a great way to get discounts and earn rewards for your purchases. Look for loyalty programs in your favorite stores, and take advantage of any special offers. Many stores also offer mobile apps with digital coupons, which can save you money on specific items.
Shop for beauty products in drugstores: Drugstores often carry popular beauty brands at more affordable prices compared to department stores or high-end makeup counters. Look for affordable skincare and hair products that cater to your specific needs, and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations from the staff.
Be confident: The most important thing is to always have confidence in yourself. Standing tall, taking care of your appearance, and being proud of who you are can enhance your beauty and make you look your best, even if you're wearing budget-friendly clothes. Take pride in who you are, and don't let others' expectations bring you down.
Have fun with fashion: Fashion should be fun, not stress-inducing. Mix and match your clothes to create your own unique style, and don't be afraid to experiment with new outfits. Experimenting with different styles can help you find what works best for you, and make fashion more enjoyable as well.
Remember, looking good on a budget can be challenging, but it's all about being creative and making the most of what you already have. With these tips and a positive attitude, you'll be sure to look your best without breaking the bank.

Summary: Dean has been working as a getaway driver for Crowley for the last fourteen years, and has survived by developing a few simple rules: always pick the right music, keep an eye on the time, never give out his real name, and most importantly, make no personal connections with anyone on the job.  Making no personal connections with anyone new is easy when he has difficulty talking in his own words.  Enter Cas, who, in order to pay for his nephew Jack’s life-saving medical treatment, decides to break bad by joining Crowley’s operations. Unlike most of his brothers, he’s new to the world of crime, but Gabriel’s list of survival tips, and their driver’s skills and quiet demeanor have a way of reassuring him.  Throughout the course of several months, their rules fall to the wayside as they fall for each other, each unable to say the words ‘I love you’ for differing reasons.  Cas’ past family life complicates things when Lucifer comes around, wanting to know how Cas is getting the money to pay for Jack’s treatment. Everything comes to a head, and they realize just how connected their world is when Dean is kidnapped.  A Baby Driver-inspired AU.
Excerpt: With little over four minutes counted on his internal clock, a trilling alarm pierced the air as three figures ran out, each with stuffed bags in tow.  Right on time.  While the other two piled in the back, one of the masked figures frantically pounded on the passenger side window with the butt of his shotgun. “Open the door!” he yelled, voice muffled.  Dean rolled his eyes, popping the handle, showing that it was already unlocked. Dean pressed play, not waiting for him to finish closing the door behind him before tearing off.   His tires burned rubber on the pavement.  One street, two streets, three streets whizzed by as Dean narrowly avoided red lights, ignoring honks and angry yells from other drivers, racing to get onto the next access road.  “Get your motor runnin’, head out on the highway!” Dean weaved between the beats of the music and the cars around him, riding the gas a little harder to try to put as much distance between their car and the bank as he could.  The goon in the backseat and Bela, who had played fake hostage, looked behind them and swore. Dean glanced up at the rearview mirror to see that civilian cars had started to part like the Red Sea for a squealing squadron. The sirens chased them down, joining in and almost drowning out the lyrics– “Yeah, darlin’, gonna make it happen”– so Dean cranked it up in response, lowering the rear windows so that they could put their firepower to use.  Whether it was intentional or coincidence, if it was set to some kismet choreography by the Powers That Be, or if it happened because Dean had a preternatural sense about timing things like this, Bela and Backseat shot their guns in sync to “Fire all of your guns at once,” popping the tires of two of the closest police cars. The cars skidded sideways and to a halt, causing a pile-up behind them.  Dean smoothly ducked under an overpass only to be greeted by a row of road spikes being laid up ahead when he emerged. With a glance to the side, he noticed that some construction workers had graciously left behind a gift for him, and decided to take advantage. Dean made a sharp turn, avoiding the teeth of the spikes.  The tempo of the drums picked up pace as Dean picked up speed. Bela put her seatbelt on and held on tight to the grab handle above her, while the guys in the backseat and next to him started begging when they realized what he was doing. “No, no, wait–!”  “What are you–?” “We can climb so high, I never wanna die…” Dean went hard on the throttle up the construction ramp, gathering enough momentum so they could soar over a concrete divider. In the few seconds that they were up off the ground, the bags in the backseat lifted off the laps of his accomplices, suspended for a moment — “Born to be wi-ild…”

hey! fics where blaine has a high place in society plz ? thank u!
You could try the wealthy!Blaine tag, or royal!Klaine. There's quite a few there. ~ Jen
Some newer fics:
Seven by @scatter-the-stars
How far would you go for someone you love? For Kurt, that means doing the unimaginable. But if it means saving his dad, he's willing to take that risk. A risk that has him leaving his home to go states away to spend a week with the last person he ever expected to meet. Over the course of the next seven days, things don't go as planned, or thought.
Can seven days change everything?
~~~~~
King of My heart by soprano-squad
New York high society– fraught with gossip, lies, and a rigid social hierarchy. A hierarchy that some would do anything to climb the ranks of…
Essentially: Kurt is filthy rich. Blaine is even richer. Blaine is blackmailed into an arranged marriage with Kurt, who doesn’t know the truth behind their engagement. Banter, pining, smut, and spending obscene amounts of money ensues.
~~~~~
Indigo dreams by @gleefulpoppet
Blaine Anderson is rich, revered in his profession, and a powerful man in New York. After years of what has become nothing more than a weekly routine, he takes selected clients and models to the trendy, upscale nightclub—Indigo Dreams—to wine, dine and entertain them. What happens when a new dancer takes center stage and captures Blaine’s soul with those beautiful color-changing eyes?
~~~~~
For Richer, For Poorer by @bananacabana
For Blaine, dating has never been easy. Time after time, he ends up with sleazy guys who are only interested in one thing: his impressive bank account. When he meets Kurt, however, Blaine decides to ‘play it poor’, with the hopes that someone might actually like him rather than how much money he earns.
~~~~~
Or the cracky:
Everybody’s Naked & There’s a Country to Run  by @coffeegleek
A take on the "prince/king!Blaine and prince/king!Kurt are getting married and have to do it while naked in front of their loyal subjects" trope. It’s pure crack taken seriously. I’m blaming the heat. The fic started as this wisp of an idea and a single funny Kurt line. It was supposed to all be fast paced and instead sometimes dissolves into a bit of world building, exposition, and Kurt feelings. I do try my best and hope that at least some of the jokes and humor land. It also developed a full blown plot that has a beginning and an end.

So you wanna sell your art on Redbubble but you don't know how?
(Or, I meant to write this months ago but better late than never lol)
OKAY okay. I have a bunch of friends as well as mutuals who have lovely lovely art and have considered selling it online (specifically on Redbubble lol that's what's being covered today anyways) but don't really have any clue how RB works, if it's right for them, or what to expect. SO I'M HERE TO GUIDE Y'ALL THROUGH ALL THE BASICS and hopefully, if I've done my job right, this tutorial will help you set up your RB shop and start selling your art online (or help you decide that RB isn't for you lol).
Table of Contents:
What the heck is RedBubble and should I use it?
How to make your account and set up payment
How to add a new work
Pricing? Markup?
Extra: Checking sales and payment history
Extra: Taxes and copyright, in case that scares you.
Extra: The Partner Program (or how to make "officially licensed" fanart)
What the heck is RedBubble and should I use it?
>> RedBubble is a site that allows you to upload your artwork and sell it on quite a variety of different products.
>> The main benefit of using RedBubble, aside from reach and visibility, is that RB handles *everything* when it comes to the manufacturing and shipment of your product. You are literally not responsible for anything other than making the art, uploading it, and deciding how you want it to look on different products. If there is any kind of problem with material quality or delivery (though in my experience they're pretty good with both of those things), it's not your responsibility to correct!
>> RedBubble does not charge you to sell on their site, but they do set a base price for all products to cover manufacturing and to ensure that they make some level of profit for each sale. We'll look into the specifics of this in a later section when discussing pricing and markup, but it would be considered pretty standard, for example, for an item to cost $20 and you to make $4-$5 upon making a sale.
>> At the end of the day, whether or not RB is right for you largely depends on whether or not you feel their pricing and payment is fair, and whether their available products correspond to what you wish to sell.
Okay, so how do I get started?
Well first you're gonna need an account!
>> Head over to the RedBubble main page and click "Sign Up"
Tumblr media
>> Select "Artist Signup"
Tumblr media
>> Fill in your email, shop name (this is your username also), and password
>> Click "Sign Up"
>> You will be brought to this dashboard page:
Tumblr media
>> We will discuss creating products in the next section. Everything under "Set Up Shop" is optional and I'll let you explore that on your own so we can focus on the essentials. That just leaves... Getting paid!
>> First, check the email you used to confirm your email address. If you didn't receive an email to confirm your email address, don't worry, we can resend the form- keep going with the steps for now.
>> Then, under "Get Paid", click "Add your name & address". Note that all of the options in the "Get Paid" section actually lead to the same form, but selecting this option starts us near the top.
>> Fill out all the fields on this page. If you didn't receive the email to confirm your email address, click on this button:
Tumblr media
Then check your email again.
>> Note when choosing your payment method: if you are from Canada, like me, then paypal is your only option. Same for parts of Europe that aren't in the UK. Otherwise, you also have bank transfer options:
Tumblr media
>> Once you've finished filling in everything on this page, click "Save Changes" at the bottom and... That's it! Now you can get paid :)
**Note: I believe RB still requires you to make a minimum amount of money before they do a transfer (for me in Canada I believe it's $20 CAD?), so do keep that in mind!
>> Payments are made to your account monthly, generally on the same day every month (assuming you've made profits!).
How to add a new work
So you've made your account, fantastic. Now you're ready to actually add your works to RB and make them available for purchase to the wider public! To demonstrate the process, we're gonna use our pal Nicky here (who was a gift from my lovely friend @llumimoon) and pretend that we want to upload him:
Tumblr media
Ain't he a doll? Anyways, let's begin.
>> Hover your mouse over your pfp in the top right corner to make this drop down menu appear:
Tumblr media
>> Click on "Add New Work"
**On a new account with nothing uploaded, this will look a bit different. instead choose "Sell Your Art" from this dropdown menu, then "Add New Work" from the top right corner of the same dashboard page from earlier.
>> Click on "Upload New Work" (and note the file type and resolution requirements at the bottom. I always stick with PNGs, but in theory JPEG or GIF works as well.)
Tumblr media
>> Select the file of the image you want to upload. In our case, that's Nicky.
>> Now write a title for your work, tags, and a description if you want. The tagging system is how people will actually find your work, it works a lot like Tumblr's! Try to choose things that are relevant to whatever your piece is. If you're uploading fandom-related art and aren't sure what tags are used for your fandom on RB, try looking some up and seeing what generates the most relevant results!
Tumblr media
>> You may have noticed the "background color" section right below Nicky. This sets the default background color for your piece on different products. We're gonna keep this as the default white here, and I'll show you how to adjust this for individual products very soon.
>> Scroll down. This is where we decide what products we want this design to be available on and how we want Nicky to look on each thing we've enabled.
For example, if I were actually selling Nicky here (if that wasn't clear obviously I'm not actually selling my friend's art lol don't do that ofc) I would definitely want people to be able to buy him as a little sticker :]
Tumblr media
>> In this case, "Stickers & Magnets" have been enabled by default. If you wanted to disable them, you would simply click that little "Enabled" button. Similarly, if we want to enable a product type that is disabled, just click that same button (which will be grey rather than green and say "disabled").
>> If a product is disabled and you are being prevented from enabling it, that's because the dimensions of your image are too small for the product in question! You'll wanna resize your image (preferably in a manner that retains its resolution of course) and come back.
>> Hm. Let's use the hats here as an example of how we might make edits to the layout of a specific product.
Tumblr media
He's kind of cut off, as you can see actually that's pretty in-character, and I think I want this hat to be pink rather than this default beige-looking color.
>> Click on "Edit"
Tumblr media
So, the first thing I'm gonna do here is use that "Scale Image" slider to scale him down a bit. I'm also gonna click the image and drag him up a bit to re-center him.
Tumblr media
Next, I'm gonna pick from one of the default colors and choose the pink one.
Tumblr media
>> Notice the two arrows beside the words "Bucket Hat"? This lets me go through the different types of hats available and change the background/base color for each of those, like the dad hat:
Tumblr media
>> Before we apply our changes, click that little gear icon right under the pencil icon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
>> This lets us adjust the markup price for each individual hat. It is 20% by default. Changing the markup percentage affects how much you will make off of a sale, as well as how much your product will cost. More on that in the next section!
>> Click "Apply Changes"
Tumblr media
The "dad hat" was the last hat I had selected (when setting its color), so the display has changed to show that one in the preview. Here's our bucket hat from before:
Tumblr media
Nice!
>> The specifics of how you can adjust your design will vary depending on the product. With pillows & totes, for example, the editing menu looks like this:
Tumblr media
Using the "Choose pattern" option, I can make the Nicky image repeat as a pattern like so:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note that I also scaled the image down a bit here too).
>> One last thing. See that "Replace Image" button near the top?
Tumblr media
You can use this when you want to use a different version of your image altogether for a specific product.
>> That's the gist! Play around with the settings for each item as you see fit. You can always edit them again later.
>> Scroll down. Select up to 2 relevant media types.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure this affects search results when users choose specific filters, but tbh otherwise I don't think it's all too important.
>> Let's look at what remains.
Tumblr media
>> I have the "Who can view this work?" section set to "Only You"- THIS IS SO I CAN FINISH THE STEPS HERE AND SAVE THE WORK WITHOUT ACTUALLY MAKING IT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. In practice, you'd only use this option if you wanted to buy your own work on something but didn't want other people to be able to see or buy it. Otherwise, you're always gonna choose "Anybody (public)".
>> Collections can be created to organize the pieces in your shop (for example, by fandom), but we won't cover the specifics of how to do that here.
>> Set whether or not your work contains "mature content".
>> If you want, you can set which product shows up in the preview for your work when people view your shop. If you think your piece looks especially nice on a mug, for example, you can make sure that's what people see first.
Tumblr media
>> Finally, agree to RedBubble's User Agreement (read that little blurble, since that's basically all you generally need to care about when it comes to what you can and can't sell on RB, but more on that later).
Tumblr media
>> Click "Save Work" and voila! Your piece is now available in your shop, and can be found in the search results of whatever tags you left on it (this may take a few minutes to take effect).
>> If you want to check out your design in your shop, navigate to your pfp and click "View shop"
Tumblr media
>> Don't fret if the design doesn't appear in your shop right away! Again, this can take several minutes.
>> To edit your design again (and to view/purchase privately uploaded designs like Nicky here), click the "Manage Portfolio" option instead:
Tumblr media
>> Here is Nicky as he appears in my portfolio (again, your portfolio and your shop are different things- Nicky will not appear in my shop at all because he is set to "private")
Tumblr media
>> You can click that little gear icon to do a variety of things, like return to the editing menu from earlier. The three icons below Nicky refer to the amount of comments, sales, and likes your design has received in total.
>> Click on your design either from your shop page or your portfolio page. Wow! Your cool art is now available on all the products you enabled. Be sure to look through them and make sure that everything is to your liking!
Pricing? Markup? What's that about?
Well good tumblr user, RB handles everything regarding the production (and shipping) of your product, which means that they set a base (minimum) price for every kind of product to account for materials and production, and of course make some amount of profit themselves. The *markup* is a percentage that you the artist set (see the previous section on how to do so), and will determine how much you actually make off of a sale. Note that increasing the markup price means that your product will increase in price as well!
>> An Example (using hypothetical but more or less realistic numbers):
Let's say that the base price (0% markup, i.e. no profit for you) of a phone case on RB is $15. You set the markup to 30%. 30% of 15 is 4.5, so the public price is increased to $19.5, and if anyone purchases this phone case with your design on it, you will make $4.5.
And that's really the gist! Ultimately the markup price is up to you and what you feel is reasonable, though RB sets it to 20% by default.
Extra: Checking sales and payment history
Eheh, unfortunately I've reached the image limit for this post but:
To check your sales:
>> Click on your pfp
>> Click "Account Settings"
>> Under "Artist Tools" (on the left side), click "Sales History"
To check your payment history:
>> From the same "Artist Tools" menu (see above), click "Payment History"
Extra: Taxes and copyright, in case that scares you.
>> Do I need to report the income I make on RB when I do my taxes?
Yup! But dw, it isn't anything special. I mean, I'm not here to do your taxes for you, but money you make on Redbubble counts as "Self-Employment Income", same as if you sold your art just about anywhere else really!
>> So what am I actually allowed to sell on Redbubble? Is fanart okay?
Generally speaking... Yes! Obviously work should be your own, and it should not contain any company logos or names that you don't have the right to, nor photos of actual people unless you have their explicit permission.
>> Hm, okay, but what if I *do* accidentally sell something that isn't allowed?
In most cases, it'll just get taken down 👍. And no, you won't be asked to pay back any profits you made off the work in the meantime.
**A more extreme case: Story time. So, years ago a friend of mine uploaded some official Rick and Morty art that he forgot to set to "private". Overnight he made... Let's just say he made quite a bit of money. RB responded by taking down the work and banning his IP address, effectively preventing him from ever selling on the site again. But they still let him keep the money he made, and he didn't get into any actual trouble outside of that. What I'm saying is, even if you really fuck up, it'll be alright. And again, this was a pretty extreme scenario.
***Note: if your work falls under one of the brands in Redbubble's "Partner Program" (see the next section), it will be temporarily removed from the search results and your shop while it undergoes review. So don't panic if you see your fanart suddenly disappear from your shop!
Extra: The Partner Program (or how to make "officially licensed" fanart)
Very briefly, Redbubble has their partner program, which I won't explain in full detail here, but basically it means that if you upload a work and tag it as one of these brands, it will be inspected for review and, upon passing that brand's guidelines, will be considered "officially licensed" merch for that brand. Just felt worth mentioning!
So that's really the gist folks! There's certainly much more to play around with when it comes to RB, but that's all you need to know to get started! Hopefully this was useful? Hopefully lol. In any case, good luck out there!
