Journey into the Sonic Multiverse
The Most Popular Timeline in the Sonic the Hedgehog Multiverse is no doubt, SEGA's games and some of their media. It's often called the Main Canon. Sometimes the Only Canon. But this Canon has been going through a Soft ReBoot as of late. I like to call this reboot, NEO 2020. Due to it mainly dealing with Sonic's Games This Decade, along with affecting the past. Mainly, Sonic Origins, Sonic Colors Ultimate, and Sonic Fronteirs.
This Soft Reboot Conclusion came to me mainly due to these
Sonic Origins Slightly Altered Versions of the Sonic 1, CD, 2, & 3's Stories are confirmed to replace the original Manuals in our Current Timeline. As confirmed by Origins Writer & Fronteirs Scene/Dialouge Writer, Ian Flynn on his Bumbleking Podcast.
He Also confirmed that Spinball is now canon (minus the 16 Emeralds and New Tornado Model) an effort to try and one day get the Freedom Fighters in the games. Whether or not that goal comes to fruition is to be seen
Ian noted that SegaSonic the Hedgehog now takes place After Sonic 3 and Before Mania on his Bumbleking Podcast
Finally, Sonic Channel (The Official Japanese Website for Sonic the Hedgehog) removed ALL THE CHARACTER AGES from their Bios. Removing ages from this timeline. Making 2 games SEGA is adamant about being canon despite not making sense (Sonic 06 & Sonic Gemerations) alot less confusing. Due to some things to think about being removed.
If I was to guess what the Timeline looks like NOW, Based on this info and my previous knowledge about this Blue Boi, I'd say it looks like this
My Idea of this new soft reboot's Timeline based on recent information,
• Sonic Origins (Story Mode)
• SegaSonic the Hedgehog (Ian Flynn switched SEGASONIC to take place after Sonic 3)
• Sonic Mania Plus (Both Modes, you know the order)
• Sonic Forces
• Sonic Mania Adventures
• Sonic Drift (Hasn't been retconned out of this yet)
• SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter (Hasn't been retconned out of this yet)
• Chaotix
• Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island
• Sonic the Fighters (Ian retconned the Different Tornado Model and 16 Emeralds from Spinball without retconning the game, so I'm sure he'd love to retcon the 8th Emerald seen in this game. Or just make it the Master Emerald)
• Sonic R (Hasn't been retconned out of this yet. Likely will cause many Don't like it)
• Sonic Adventure DX
• Sonic Shuffle (Hasn't been retconned out of this yet)
• Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
• Sonic Advance
• Sonic Advance 2
• Sonic Pinball Party (Hasn't been retconned out of this yet)
• Sonic Heroes
• Shadow the Hedgehog (You already know what's canon and what's not)
• Sonic Battle
• Sonic Advance 3
• Sonic Jump [J2ME] (Hasn't been retconned out of this yet)
• Sonic 06 (it makes no fucking sense but they're sticking with it. I guess they wanna pretend the ending erased their minds and saved the world instead of erasing all the events of the game. With ages no longer being a thing, The Chaos Emerald thing atleast almost makes sense. Time isn't real in NEW 2020 SONIC)
• Sonic Rush
• Sonic Riders
• Sonic and the Secret Rings
• Sonic Rush Adventure
• Sonic Unleashed
• Sonic and the Black Knight
• Sonic Colors Ultimate (IDK where Rise of the Wisps goes here. I refuse to watch it)
• Sonic Generations (somehow)
• Sonic Lost World. • Sonic Comic (The 2016 Sonic Manga Released by SEGA Online about casual stuff)
• Sonic Forces
• Sonic Fronteirs
And Chao in Space is somewhere in there
I just wonder if IDW is canon to this, or is it it's own thing like Fleetway, Archie, and the Manga. IDW's Comic is forced to be accurate to SEGA's current timeline (like how Evan Stanley wasn't able to use a location from Sonic Rivals cause it's not considered canon) and Tangle & Whisper got in the Mobile Games, Merchandise, Not to mention, IDW is the only Sonic Comic to be Localized into Japanese for Japan. NGL, I think it's ALMOST Canon

I know the new Saw movie is probably going to ignore the horribly convoluted nonsense plot and just take place somewhere vaguely “before John died”, but in my heart of hearts I want to believe they’re gonna find a definitive spot in the continuity to cram it into, and keep doing the bullshit they were doing in like Saw 4-6 where all the movies are happening on top of each other and you get to watch new versions of old scenes from the perspective of side characters like it’s “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”

Do you have access to a copy of the epithet art book yet? Lorelai's section in particular has a lot of interesting context about the character designs of the Blyndeff family that could be useful for the Blyndeffswap AU. For example, each Blyndeff is represented by a color, in Molly's hair. This is why pink is the least prominent of the colors in the designs of the other family members. I think it would be interesting if, in Blyndeffswap, they had more pink and less yellow.
Currently I don't have the art book (this ask was actually the first place I'd heard it was even out) but it would be fun to have in the future! As for the color thing, I actually had a hunch that it might be the case and designed the Blyndeffswap versions to always wear some amount of their designated color (Lorelai always wears at least some purple, Molly always green, and Calliope always pink or fuschia).
This is also as good an excuse as any to share the concept art I've made for the Blyndeffswap "soft reboot" (don't know what else to call it).
(These images were drawn over a few weeks, hence the difference in style between them. Calliope's was more a proof of concept than anything else)
It wasn't very intentional, but Lorelai is the only one here to wear any substantial amount of yellow, albeit as an accent color. Maybe that could also work in one way, with Lorelai being Martin's "successor" in a sense?
