#vacation time #the chaos talks #our stay had some ups and downs (mostly due to people being people meaning there's always potential for conflicts) #but all in all it was wonderful to enjoy the peace and quiet and the wonderful countryside and the amazing food #even the car ride was rather peaceful #we listened to some audio books and enjoyed watching the landscape change as we passed through #lots of 'nothing' to look at #also the ocean was very cold (it's the Atlantic - i didn't really expect anything different) but swimming in it was still very nice #the biggest downside was the huge wildfire that happened to be not that far away from my aunt's place where we stayed #that was really scary #all because some idiots thought having a barbecue in the middle of summer when everything is bone-dry would be a good idea #thanks guys you just caused ~7.000 hectares of land to burn down just so you could have your steak. great job. #july 2023 #august 2023

Spent a couple of hours at the beach today and got feels for a moment thinking about Kerry taking Vince to the Philippines for the first time and just asskfrmrdsmd...

Like...... Vince never was on a proper vacation. Once with his family when he was like, 5 or 6, cause his parents worked so much they just never had time (and also rarely both of them at once). Back then they visited his father's side of the family in Japan, it was the first time Vince stood in the ocean, blown away by how huge and far it is.

After he ran away from home he could barely survive on his own for a while, and when he worked for Arasaka he saw a few cool places around the world, but it was always work related.

Kerry comes from a simple background and made it big, like, I bet his first vacation all by himself somewhere that had *nothing* to do with work must've been a huge deal for him as well like... fuck yeah, I made it! I earned this! Time to chill and party after busting my ass for years (as you should).

And omg... the first time they're on vacation together somewhere... Vince is really gonna struggle with sitting still and resting *his* ass for once, while Kerry's like "oh my god, just... enjoy yourself, please!! Relax!!"

After a while though I think he'd be able to wind down xD But his favourite thing would be actually having Kerry show him his favourite spots, some hidden gems and secret locations he's discovered over the years.
