May I please request another continuation to the family reunion ask?
Scenario: Machi, Pakunoda, and Shizuku (separate), and their kid(s). Their s/o forces all of them to go to family therapy.
S/o is basically asking the therapist, "doctor, how can I make my two favorite people in the world love each other again?"
And their kid (Mai, Haruto, Hana) are just looking at s/o, like "wtf dad/mom. I knew you had stockholm syndrome, but I didn't know it was this bad!!!"
Dividers by: johnkayano, and plutism
A/n: I love these requests there are so fun to do!🤍 NOT PROOFREAD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAKUNODA:
They needed to be together again regardless of everything. You loved them both, but refused to choose one of them over the other. Lucky you, you came up with a great idea. Therapy.
You told Pakunoda about it, and she thought it was a great idea. You thought about telling Hana, but in the end you knew she would make up an excuse, or just flat out tell you no. But then again you had another idea. Hana might’ve not liked her mother that much, and she made it obvious to the both of you. Regardless of that Pakunoda didn’t love her any less.
You had to her something different in order for her to agree to go with you two.
You told her that you all would go shopping. Of course Hana would say yes to that. Out of everything Hana loves shopping even if it’s with her messed up mindset mother.
You 3 started to journey to the “mall”. You tried to make conversation between your child, and you wife. Even though it was kinda awkward, and one-sided you made it clear that you wanted everyone to engage in conversation so Pakunods spoke up.
“I think this therapy session will go great!”
The car got awkwardly silent. Pakunoda realized last minute that Hana didn’t know. She observed her change in body language even though she didn’t say anything. It rest of the car ride was mostly quiet.
Upon arriving to the building you took a look around, and walked inside.
You sat down and took a deep breath. Once you understood that everyone was situated you started to express your thoughts.
You were so in the moment you let everything out.
“How do I get my daughter, and they love of my life to love each other as much as I love them?”
Hana gasped loudly. I mean she knew you were a bit out of your mind. This very session showing it, but the remark you just made, made her feel even worse than she did about the situation.
“Are you kidding?” Everyone stopped and looked at each other dumbfounded while you looked pleased with the question. Oh how oblivious you are.
Tumblr media
MACHI:
At first she said no. Almost like she wanted nothing to do with her child, but no it wasn’t that. She was still upset, and wanted Mai to be aware of that. The thing that hurt her most is that she knew Mai didn’t care one bit. She wanted for you all to be a happy family more than anything. It was just you three after all.
You introduced the topic of therapy to her, and she didn’t want anything to do with it. Overtime she started to develop different feelings against your preachings of therapy. She finally agreed when you lied to her and said Mai said she wanted to do it. You even went as far to say that Mai was the one who started the idea and brought it up to you.
Now Machi was a little bit excited. It’s not that she doesn’t care about your opinion she loves you more than anything. She’s made that clear countless of times actually. Now you had to get Mai to go.
It wasn’t as hard as it was with her mother. Upon bringing up to Mai she said she would think about it and get back to you. She was in the middle of training so you thought to come back to her later.
A WEEK. Later Mai came back to say that she’ll go, but she had nothing to say. You took that because in your mind it was better than nothing.
You took the both of the to the session to ask your big question.
“How do I get the to love each other like they used too?”
Mai thought you were obviously out of your fucking mind.
“What the hell. Are just gonna act like-.” Mai cut herself off before continuing her sentence.
Mai stared at you sympathetically her parent was sick in the mind. You in this state makes her even more determined to get the negative energy out of your life.
Tumblr media
SHIZUKU:
Oh she was suffocating your son. You found it adorable how he would run away from her hugs, and kisses. When you craved and adored every single one of them. It wasn’t until Haruto almost attacked Shizuku because of her constant smothering. Haruto means well. And you know that, and so does Shizuku. You had to make up your mind. Let Haruto continue suffering or call a family meeting to have a therapy session. You’re decided. You chose to call a family meeting.
They both decided to go to fix whatever they called a family. Haruto found some type of love in his heart for his mother. Even though he knew she did bad things, and he’ll never forgive her doing such despicable acts. She’ll always be his only mother in this life. Yes he has you, and loves you more than anything, but he also love his mother.
You took them both to the session, and sat them down. The therapist took a look at you and Shizuku and Haruto, and than back at you.
“Alright so here we go. Is there anything you all are open to talk about with me?” The psychologist asked obviously intrigued.
“I love my wife, and I love my son. They just don’t seem to get along.”
Haruto loved you he really did, but your showing him signs that your sick. All the things his mother has done not just to people, but also to you. Why were you like this. He looked disgusted.
Tumblr media
That’s it for today lovelies! Thanks for this request! Have a good day/night, and remember to drink enough water and eat!🫶🏽🤍

I've had a lot of thought about the chapter 236, the way Gojo's death was framed and handled. Now that my hopes for his return dwindle, I am getting around to putting them all in one place with manga panels for reference. I am only going to discuss the chapter in the context of character relationships and narrative wise, a lot of people smarter than me have already analyzed the Buddhist symbolism that hints at Gojo's resurrection.
There will be two parts, both operating under different asuumptions. First one takes the fact of Gojo's death at face value with no hope for his return. In contrast, the second part will be all about how 236 is a perfect set up for Satoru's recurrection. It requires a lot of trust in Gege's writing and planning ahead and as of now I don't have much faith but analysing the possibility of it was fun, so I am including it.
Part One or An Unsatisfaying Attempt At A Satisfying End
Right of the bat we can agree that the chapter is trying to really hard to sell that this is the satisfying ending for Gojo Satoru, him going out in a fight against the one who matches his power, dying without regrets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet the chapter contradicts itself, the more I think of it the more it feels like it's trying to fool not just the readers, but Satoru himself into thinking he has no regrets. Just earlier he thinks about Megumi and not telling him about his dad.
Tumblr media
Perhaps I am reading into this too much, but it feels like he is pushing those thoughts away to maintain the allusions of having no regrets. There is no mention of Sukuna possesing Megumi or anything about his students now having to face Sukuna in his stead. Ultimately he failed, not just in reaching Sukuna as Gojo says so himself but saving Megumi and protecting his students. He doesn't acknowledge it because in doing so he will admit he died with regrets.
This chapter is a pinnacle of focus on Satoru's selfishness, the separation between him and other sorcerers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haibara's words feel harsh (Satoru even looks upset) and while not entirely wrong, they aren't the full truth. Satoru cares and we have many proofes of it. The most obvious is him opening his domain for as little as possible to protect the people in Shibuya, him becoming a teacher and his desire to protect the youth of his students.
All of those examples focus only on Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer. If you see only his strength, it is no wonder you think he only fights for the kick of it, that this death is fitting. It is a worthy end to the strongest sorcerer, finally having met his match.
Now, with the assumption of this chapter being truly the end for Gojo Satoru, there were ways to keep the focus on him not having any regrets while acknowledging his failures. Just have him say "I wish I could be there for them, but ultimately I know they do not need me. They are my students after all." But for now it feels like a cheap attempt to make it a good ending without actually putting in the work for it to be satisfying narratively wise. I would actually prefer an acknowledgement of Satoru's failures and how there was still so much he could do, both as the strongest and as a teacher. Unless....
Part Two or The Fitting End For The Strongest Sorcerer, Complete Ego Death, And Path To Enlightment.
A more hopeful conclusion I've made after hours of overthinking is the possibility of all of it being intentional. Losing to Sukuna is what will help Satoru reevaluate his own beliefs and how he views his relationships with others. Losing to Sukuna is Satoru also losing his title of the strongest and with it the mindset tied to it and the way people perceive it, as shown both by him and the people in the after life
Something I've concluded in the previous part is how the entire chapter is only about one aspect of Gojo's character, focus only on his strength. It is further supported by him being depicted as his teenage self, whose entire identity was built upon the fact that he is the strongest.
Everyone we see in the afterlife can be related back to Gojo's blue spring. Geto Suguru, his closest friend and his equal; Nanami Kento, his friend and ally, the one who followed his selfless ideals to the very end; Haibara Yu, admittedly we don't know much about his and Satoru's interactions, but we could theorize that it was his death that caused Satoru to want to protect the youth of young sorcerers; Yaga Masamichi, his teacher who he cares for. And then the three people who symbolized the shift in that mindset: Kuroi Misato, Amanai Riko and Fushiguro Toji. He failed to protect the former two, showing that he is not yet the strongest, and the fight with latter, that brings him on the verge of death, makes him stronger than before.
All of those people are in some way connected to Satoru but it is interesting that another character isn't there. Fushiguro Tsumiki*. It could be that she is just less important to him but I believe it is because he met her when his goals shifted towards those we see in the series. He already has a dream, to build a new jujutsu society for which he needs strong allies, which is why he takes Megumi in (Gege's words, not mine). That would also explain why Nobara and Megumi aren't there, even if I would like to believe it's because they aren't dead yet (Gege is allergic to confirming their status).
I would prefer a proper resurrection but Satoru returning through seance the way Toji did would not only be a call back to the parallels between them but also allow for him to truly let go of his regrets the way Toji did.
What I am trying to say in so many words is that I want to believe 236 symbolizes true ego death for Gojo Satoru, a change in mindset that will allow him to build authentic connections with the people around him when he comes back, him leaving his past and his regrets behind.
All of this requires for Gege to have any amout of care for the characters and writing skills so I doubt it would happen but it's a nice thing to think about. I am more inclined to believe that Gege messed up in their attempts to make Satoru's end satisfying and will continue believing. Unless Gojo actually comes back.

BPD! Scaramouche pt.4
Agere Scara X Caretaker Reader!!!
Before we go into the fun part. Here’s a little breakdown of BPD and agere for those who may not understand/know.
A common trait of bpd that isn’t on the list of requirements for diagnosis is age regression! It’s a coping skill in which the person regresses back to a younger mindset to escape problems that feel too big for them. This can help with inner child healing, anxiety, depression etc. it’s completely healthy and non sexual.
Now. The regressor can range from ages of a small infant to young kid. It’s all dependent on how comfortable that person feels and where their mind naturally falls when they enter said headspace. For someone with bpd. This can be a great way to handle our emotions. Our emotions switch often, and are way too big for our bodies with how extreme these emotions can feel.
There’s also another aspect. Caretaking. A caretaker is someone who looks after a regressor in which they’ll take on a “mommy” or “daddy” role. Nicknames can range variously depending on what the caretaker and regressor like and agree upon. It can be someone who you’re dating or just friends with.
Notes: pacifier, sippy cups, crying, meltdowns are all going to be included. Along with extra fluffy content and comfort. Now enjoy!!!
You’ve been scaras partner and caretaker for a long time. About 3 years now.
He made sure it was one of the first things he mentioned to you when getting to know each other when you first started testing the waters of your relationship
Ironically you’d been interested in caretaking and had tried it out a few times in the past. But never had someone who was your little.
It took a while for him to open up, but he was the sweetest (and most times brattiest) little you’d ever met.
Very opposite of his normal sarcastic, and domineering attitude, when he regresses he’s the shyest little boy ever.
His age range is 3-4 years old.
He likes plushies, pacis, sensory toys, and soft blankets.
He has a favorite comfort movie he makes you watch with him.
He really likes to be picked up and wrap his legs around your waist. He’ll cling onto you for hours if he can. And you’ll let him.
“Bubba I wan uppies! Pick me up!”
“I want my sippy please!”
Likes to spin around and dance even when there’s no music playing
Loves repeating nursery rhymes and gets excited when you sing with him
Short attention span and cranky attitude when he needs a nap
Can only sleep while holding onto you or your hand
Hates the dark. Has to have a nightlight, LED lights, a tv or something else that radiates light when the overhead lights are turned off
Loves letting you dress him up. You always pick the best outfits and you’re so gentle when helping him change.
He gives the biggest and nicest hugs ever.
Is super cuddly and clingy. And will side eye anyone who tries talking to you or taking your attention away when he’s resting on you.
“Bun. It’s ok, it’s just the adults talking that’s all.” You rub his back trying to soothe his obvious annoyance but to no avail
He glared at the person you’re talking to, clinging onto you tighter and starts angry babbling
“Mine bubba, go away! Bubba mine. Miiiiinnnneeeee.”
“Yes yours, Bun. Now let’s relax ok?” You kiss the top of his head, and it takes a while and having to force the other person leave but he soon melts back into your arms.
He loves it when you hold his face and squish it. Telling him he’s a good boy and how much you love him
His entire face lights up, normally dull violet eyes not filled with an adorable sparkle of happiness and light you wished would last forever.
His euphoric episode crashes were the most often time he’d need to regress. But other times it could be simply when he’s too stressed and need to feel like he’s not all alone.
Splitting can still happen when he’s little. But he tends to come down from a bad split crying out apologies of how he never meant to hurt his bubba.
To him, you’re his entire life saver at times. You help him when he feels so out of control. And you guide him back to it without even realizing. All it can take is a simple “I’m here, bun. It’s ok.” And everything stops hurting so bad after a while. He can feel at peace with you for the first time in his entire life.
He’s lived a long time without having safety be a feeling he could ever have. He lives you and cherishes you for every minute of that he gets with you and tries his best to return that to you always.
Im so tired and haven’t proof read anything. But honestly I rarely ever do so. Yes. Anyways I hope you guys like this I’ve poured out every thought I could into this and please let me know if you want more!!!

The Devil Judge Meta: The Bus Scene
Hello and welcome to the chaos.
So, ever since I first saw this drama, I've been OBSESSED with the bus scene for how beautifully it establishes a lot of core traits for both Yo Han and Ga On's personalities. It is, quite simply, a masterpiece. And so, since I've got nothing better to do (*cough, cough*) here's a rambling meta where I scream about it, simply because I can and want to.
Disclaimer: This is by no means a COMPLETE meta of this scene. I will only be focusing on the characters and not, say, the cinematography. And even then I won't include every single detail. I mostly want to gush about how wonderfully this scene takes on the challenge of showing two characters' different personalities through their actions and reactions alone. Don't come at me if I don't talk about everything that makes this scene cool. Also, obviously, these observations are just my opinions and I don't expect everyone to agree. I'm just having fun yelling about characters I like.
Second Disclaimer: I was left unsupervised with Photoshop while having a fever. I take no responsibility for the resulting screenshots.
More under the cut!
And brace yourselves — it's hella long.
Let's just jump right into the action! (mainly because the build-up isn't all that interesting)
The moment the situation becomes clear to Ga On — i.e. that the little girl is in terrible danger — this is his immediate reaction:
Tumblr media
Good boy.
I mean, at this point, it's not even a particularly risky decision. The bus is still pretty far away so he should have enough time to grab the girl and run out of there. No biggie. And, clearly, the soldiers aren't going to be doing anything to help her, so it's understandable that Ga On takes it upon himself to do so. SOMEONE has to.
And this is a very good example of Ga On's problem-solving in action. His main priority is saving the victims and his method of choice — run over and grab the girl himself — may be simple, but also very straightforward and effective. It gives an immediate and tangible result. It's a bit impulsive, sure, since he's potentially putting himself in danger, but it also shows his selflessness and sincerity. He doesn't even HESITATE before he starts running since Ga On's problem-solving is very instinctual.
He's a man of action who doesn't waste time on second guesses, doubts, or plans. He sees a situation and intervenes with the method that occurs to him at the time.
So he's a quick thinker, definitely, but he also doesn't have much of a strategy outside of "save the girl." The scope of his solution is narrow, focusing more on rescuing the one in immediate danger rather than defusing the situation. That doesn't mean he's BAD at solving problems — he's actually very clever and reacts and adapts impressively fast — just that he's got a very specific goal in mind and the solution he chooses is usually decided by that goal.
In a tight spot, Ga On's main focus is pretty much always to rescue the victims (or innocents, if you prefer) rather than neutralising or stopping the threat. He is, first and foremost, a protector and saviour.
Which is very noble and heroic. We love that for him.
And Ga On's day would probably have gone a lot better if life hadn't decided to throw a Yo Han-shaped wrench into his reckless but well-meaning plans. Because, WOW, do their respective problem-solving tactics clash.
Case in point:
Tumblr media
This shot (aside from being very pretty) is a SPECTACULAR glimpse into Yo Han's mindset and POV. The focus is on the bus — the threat — but we can also clearly tell that, should Ga On try to rise, he and the girl might end up getting shot. There are innocents in between Yo Han and his target — innocents who might get hurt should Yo Han proceed with his planned actions.
And Yo Han still fires.
Which is why I totally don't blame Ga On for making this face:
Tumblr media
Like, Ga On later criticises Yo Han for being willing to risk the bus driver's life, but let's not forget that Yo Han was also willing to send a bullet flying over Ga On's head without hesitation. Just as Ga On was about to straighten, no less. That's risky as all hell.
And that brings us to Yo Han's problem-solving.
Unlike Ga On, Yo Han focuses on stopping the bus rather than protecting the victims — he even puts them in MORE danger by firing the gun with them in the crossfire. Which may seem even more reckless than Ga On's method at first glance, if it wasn't for this:
Tumblr media
Yo Han is perfectly calm.
Despite the pressure of the situation, he handles it with a cold, almost detached, precision. A precision that probably comes from the fact that he's already assessed how the situation will unfold and how he has to act in order to change its course. As he points out later, the bus would have kept going forward if it hadn't been stopped and, even if Ga On and the girl had managed to run away, there's a potential for countless more victims — soldiers, bystanders, and other employees at the Supreme Court. In neutralising the threat, he saves more lives.
In a sense, this can also be seen as punishing the instigator, as opposed to Ga On's choice of protecting innocents. As Yo Han later admits, he's willing to sacrifice one life to save many — especially when that someone is a bad person.
While Yo Han's actions are undoubtedly ruthless, he also has a wider scope of the situation than Ga On, to the point where they don't even view it the same. To Ga On, the girl getting run over is the problem that needs to be solved. In contrast, to Yo Han, the problem that should be solved is the speeding bus, which, if not stopped, will result in the girl getting run over.
This is why, instead of allowing Ga On and the girl time to run away, Yo Han doesn't lower the gun.
He's there to solve a problem and the speeding bus is the problem, not Ga On or the girl's possible fate. And with such a different core grasp of the situation, it's no wonder their respective solutions clash.
They're trying to solve two completely different problems.
Complete Sidetrack: I've seen some people criticise the realism of this scene because Ga On doesn't try to take the girl and run despite having many chances to do so, but I would argue that the biggest flaw in the realism is the preschool teacher. You're telling me that woman WOULDN'T turn back and try to save that child herself? Has the writer of this show even MET a preschool teacher? That girl is her responsibility! She wouldn't just leave her!
And sure, the woman has other children to take care of, but they're safely across the road already. She can order them to stay put and then run back. I think the only logical reason why she wouldn't is if someone is physically restraining her.
… or if the creators simply wanted a cool scene (that I admit to loving) and didn't really care if they misrepresented this poor woman. Justice for the preschool teacher!
ANYWAY. I DIGRESS.
I LOVE Ga On's face when he realises what just happened and that Yo Han is far from finished.
Tumblr media
Because Yo Han more or less holds Ga On and the little girl hostage. Which says quite a lot about his ruthlessness AND his confidence. Yo Han is clearly convinced that his method is the right one — that his aim is good enough to take the risk — and doesn't even give Ga On the option to protest. He literally holds Ga On at gunpoint and forces him to abandon his solution of grabbing the girl and running in favour of Yo Han's plan of stopping the bus. Basically, if Ga On wants to come out of this alive, he'll have to bend to Yo Han's will.
Foreshadowing much?
Like, short of trying to ROLL out of the line of fire, there's not much Ga On can do if he wants to avoid getting himself or the girl shot. He has NO idea when Yo Han might pull the trigger again or exactly where he is aiming.
And, well, as we see here, Ga On is clearly making the right choice by staying put. YIKES, Yo Han.
Tumblr media
And this highlights another aspect of Yo Han, which is his arrogance.
We've established that stopping the bus will most likely result in saving more lives, but there was nothing wrong with Ga On's initial response to the situation. Ga On and the girl would have been completely fine if Yo Han hadn't shown up when he did — or had simply chosen to wait a couple of seconds longer before firing the first shot.
Except Yo Han is so certain of his own abilities that he completely ignores what everyone else might be trying to do to solve the situation, to the point where he doesn't even care if he RUINS those efforts. He's already convinced his plan is better. So he essentially steps in and wrenches control away from everyone else — including Ga On — and the consequences could have been catastrophic, especially since he doesn't communicate with the others involved.
And if that isn’t Yo Han in a nutshell, I don't know what is.
Yo Han has no faith in anyone's plans but his own and will pursue them with a single-mindedness that's both alarming and kind of impressive.
If you want something done, do it yourself, I guess?
In some ways, Yo Han even CREATED this situation, with Ga On and the girl remaining in the bus's path. He could easily have let them run off first, but didn’t because he's so convinced he's doing what's best.
Then again, I guess we wouldn't have this shot if he had:
Tumblr media
I appreciate your dedication to being a protector, Ga On, but I don't think that's going to make much of a difference.
And this thing, where Yo Han's arrogance and actions are the direct cause for the complications they face, repeats a couple of times in the drama. Sometimes it's because he's stirred up so much shit that people get desperate and, a couple of times, it's because he's underestimated his opponents. And, sometimes, it even seems like it's just out of sheer curiosity, because he wants to see what will happen.
Like how he gets kidnapped and drugged by Sun Ah because he went off the meet her alone in a goddamn shipyard, or how he underestimated what Cha Kyung Hee would do if he pushed her into a corner, and how Sun Ah would never have tried to have Ga On beaten up in the slums if Yo Han hadn't paraded him around like his lovely little househusband, making it blatantly obvious how much he cares about him (which, I will admit, it another favourite scene of mine).
While Yo Han is definitely a good problem solver, he also CAUSES a lot of problems, both for himself and others. The part that I like about that, however — and what sets him apart from a lot of other characters in media — is that he's AWARE of the risks. He's not foolishly making reckless decisions that put him in danger (unlike someone else we know) but simply deems the risks to be worth the endgame. The risks Yo Han takes are calculated and, for better or worse, he's frighteningly good at maths.
But that only makes him seem more ruthless. Since no one else can see his calculations, it can be difficult to follow his logic, even more so since his values and morals are what they are (that's to say: OPTIONAL).
All of that said, while Yo Han is arrogant and very determined to be the one in control, he doesn't do it to show off or brag. He's used to being if not the smartest person in the room, then at least the most efficient one. He, too, is a man of action who will get things done smoothly and efficiently, no matter the cost.
And I do love this moment right here, just after the bus has only narrowly missed Ga On and the girl:
Tumblr media
They could have made him look smug — or even pleased — but they didn't. He remains calm and focused because, again, it's not about the glory. Just like his revenge plan, it's all about the mission — the result. He does what he has to in order to reach his goal, simple as that.
While Yo Han definitely carries a lot of intense emotions (some that he should probably talk to a therapist about) he is also incredibly goal-oriented, to the point where he doesn't let his emotions sway his decisions very often. More often than not, if Yo Han does something, it's because he has a plan — a goal or something he wants to accomplish. And he will pursue that goal without hesitation.
But that also means he doesn't really care about who he has to step over in order to get there — including victims and innocents.
Meanwhile, Ga On:
Tumblr media
Showing care and concern in a situation like this is pretty natural, I'd say, especially for someone as compassionate as Ga On. OF COURSE he would take the time to make sure the little girl is okay!
Ga On is such a good boy <3
And here's another difference between Yo Han and Ga On, since Yo Han makes no such effort. Which I wouldn't necessarily say means that Yo Han doesn't care, but rather that he doesn't bother to ask for verbal confirmation of something he can clearly see with his own eyes. They weren't hit by the bus so they should be fine. Nevermind possible shock or trauma — that’s definitely not Yo Han’s problem.
The difference IS pretty unsettling, anyway, and we get this shot (which I love):
Tumblr media
It's not even particularly long, but the fact that they lock eyes after such a traumatic event and THAT is the face Yo Han makes is… yeah. Say what you will about Ga On and his habit of jumping to conclusions, but I can't really blame him for wondering if Yo Han is a psychopath.
And that's another beauty of this entire scene, since not only does it tell us, the viewers, about these characters, but it also serves as a moment for Ga On to realise what kind of man his new boss actually is. That's to say, someone who doesn't hesitate to shoot despite innocents being in the way, but also chastises the soldiers for not having the guts to do it themselves.
Also, I know I said I wouldn't focus on cinematography, but I just want to point out how beautiful these two shots are:
Tumblr media
With Ga On and the girl — the victims, for all intents and purposes — framed by the soldier and Yo Han, which soon shifts into this:
Tumblr media
With Yo Han moving to COMPLETELY cover them. It's not only gorgeous from a visual and storytelling perspective, but you can also have a field day analysing what that might mean from a character and symbolic perspective.
But that's another meta, I guess.
Back to the wide-eyed deer Ga On.
Tumblr media
For someone as caring as Ga On, Yo Han's behaviour — and lack of compassion — is clearly quite upsetting. For which I honestly can't blame him. A lot of Yo Han's actions up until this point can be explained away as a superior trying to take action and protect his employees, but Yo Han chastising the soldiers for not firing sooner? Yeah, not so much. That is COLD, especially coming from a man who’s in a position of power over practically everyone else at the scene.
Because that's also something to remember: Yo Han doesn't just have power because he forcibly takes command, he also has a lot of authority due to his position.
A position he doesn't hesitate to abuse at points.
And, if we try to view this from Ga On's perspective, that shit is not only upsetting but downright TERRIFYING. Who wants to work for a cold and heartless dictator?
Anyway, back to Ga On being A Good Boy™.
His protective instincts are once again brought back into focus as he rushes to save the bus driver. Like with the girl, he doesn't hesitate, even if he is, once again, putting himself in danger. Saving people is instinctual to him and it doesn't matter who they are — Ga On values lives equally.
… well, until they hurt someone he cares about — then he's Down To Murder.
But that, too, is another meta entirely.
Anyway, Ga On's protectiveness is clearly one of the cornerstones of his character. Not only is he very heroic (though he'd certainly never use that word), but he's also a good caretaker and a very compassionate human being in general.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abyss over here:
Tumblr media
Yo Han makes no effort to help Ga On, neither personally nor by sending soldiers to aid him. And while that only serves to make Yo Han seem even more cold and unconcerned, it also makes complete sense considering what we established earlier. Because sending the soldiers to help would only put them at risk as well, should the bus explode before everyone can make it clear. Again, Yo Han chooses the option that will cause less damage and put fewer people at risk (hilariously), even if that means he's willing to forsake the lives currently in danger.
It's simple arithmetic, just like with the driver.
And, well, since he DOESN'T move, we also get this glorious shot:
Tumblr media
Everyone else ducks down or gets thrown off their feet, meanwhile, Yo Han just raises a hand to shield his face — as if a wholeass bus exploding is just a mild inconvenience to him.
10/10, Very Impressive. Very Extra.
HOWEVER, after this comes a brief but very fascinating moment, when the fire is roaming and Yo Han's gaze (presumably) lands on Ga On.
Tumblr media
During a couple of seconds, Yo Han seems to zone out, just blankly staring. It's the most unfocused he's been during this entire scene and I don't think it's a coincidence that the moment involves fire and Ga On (i.e. Isaac 2.0 – Sugar Baby Edition).
This is a moment that probably won't stand out all that much during a first watch, but holds a lot more meaning once you know Yo Han's backstory. It's an interesting glimpse into something like humanity — and weakness — from Yo Han. And I'm pretty sure it's intentional that most people are too panicked and/or disoriented to notice. While Ga On learns a lot about Yo Han in this scene, this moment — this particular thread, with Yo Han's trauma — is still too early to pull on. It's not until later that Ga On begins to see Yo Han's humanity.
This moment is for US, the viewers, more so than the other characters.
Anyway, in true Yo Han fashion, he's soon back to his regularly scheduled shenanigans.
Tumblr media
He still makes no effort to help Ga On or the bus driver, instead settling for a little tilt of his head that could be disapproval, could be approval, or just acceptance of how the last couple of minutes played out. They were, after all, minutes during which Yo Han made no attempt to wrestle control from Ga On, letting him attempt to save the bus driver without intervention. I wouldn't call it an outright test, but it's definitely a moment during which Yo Han waited and watched rather keenly.
Because, naturally, Yo Han is learning about Ga On, too, just like Ga On is learning about him. They're two very observant people and each action and reaction helps them start outlining the other's personality. Yo Han, in particular, has a good reason for cataloguing Ga On's behaviour and reactions, since it'll help him gauge if Ga On will be a hindrance or an asset to his revenge scheme.
And while I don't think that Yo Han is particularly impressed by what Ga On did — it was impulsive and reckless, and Yo Han clearly doesn't care much for heroics — it DID give results. And Yo Han is all about the results. If nothing else, he learned that Ga On is both stubborn and compassionate.
The latter isn't very useful to Yo Han, but the former certainly is. And I have no doubt that he's filing that information away for later.
And, hilariously, this is the point where Yo Han does ANOTHER very Yo Han thing:
Tumblr media
Despite being the man with the highest authority at the scene — i.e. the one who should arguably step in, take command, and deal with the aftermath — Yo Han simply turns around and leaves. Once the threat has been handled, he sees no point in staying since his purpose was never to protect or help the people involved — it was to solve a problem.
And since the bus has now been stopped, the problem is solved.
The fact that he also made it explode is clearly not his problem.
He doesn't care about the fallout, even when he's the direct cause. This returns time and time again, where Yo Han is fully prepared to stir shit up, but rarely stays long enough to deal with the consequences. Most notably in the last episode, when he dumps the burn crisp of a judicial system in Ga On's lap and tells him to fix what he broke.
Which is HILARIOUS.
But, honestly, also very reasonable. Say what you will about Yo Han (and I do — very often) but he's a man who knows himself, his strengths, and his abilities incredibly well. And he holds no illusions about being a nurturing person. His strength lies in analysing situations, solving problems, and, for lack of a better term, Fuck Shit Up. He's the wrecking ball — the unstoppable force of nature — not one of the helpers who come after to build it all back up again, better and shinier.
That kind of job is definitely better suited for Ga On, who's kind, compassionate, and driven.
So while it is very irresponsible for the man in charge to just leave in a situation like this, it probably makes sense to Yo Han. Why waste time on something he has no interest in and, in some ways, isn't even particularly good at?
(also, it makes him look WAY cooler if he walks away with that fire burning in the background, I guess, which might also be a factor)
Unsurprisingly, it makes less sense to Ga On who, the moment he starts regaining his bearing, looks up and tries to find Yo Han.
Tumblr media
And while I AM tempted to make a joke about always looking for your crush first after a dangerous situation, we all know it’s way too early for that here. No, Ga On looks up partly to see if anyone else has gotten hurt but, also, to look for guidance. It IS Yo Han's responsibility to handle this situation and Ga On is well within his right to expect that of his boss.
Except Yo Han isn't there.
Boss of the Year, this one.
And not only does that convey to Ga On that Yo Han is unpredictable, but also, to some extent, UNRELIABLE. Someone cold and uncaring — someone not to be trusted to uphold his end of the bargain. Someone who causes a lot of damage, but will leave it to others to mend the wounds.
And, clearly, Ga On is VERY disappointed.
Tumblr media
In short, Yo Han doesn't really make a good first OR second impression on Ga On. Though I would argue that Yo Han couldn't care less about that, which probably only makes Ga On MORE frustrated, since he's clearly more of a traditionalist, who believes in being polite, accommodating, and taking responsibility. And while Yo Han has no trouble taking responsibility in certain regards — like admitting that he was willing to kill the bus driver if he had to — it's not in the considerate, altruistic way that Ga On no doubt would prefer to see in a superior.
Yo Han doesn't give a flying fuck about propriety and politeness, and when he's being a good boss or kind to strangers, it's usually performative.
Which, again, is why I don't blame Ga On for wondering just what kind of person Yo Han is. Even just in this one scene, Yo Han doesn't exactly come across as very sympathetic. Cool, efficient, and ruthless as fuck, sure, but definitely not the kind of guy you want to be working with. Which is only made all the more obvious when it's put next to Ga On's somewhat reckless but ultimately well-meaning and selfless acts of compassion.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're each other's opposites, but this scene goes a long way to show the differences in Ga On and Yo Han's personalities, mindsets, and values. And it doesn't necessarily take sides or try to tell you which is better, just that they're different. Both have pros and cons.
Ga On is kind, caring, and will do whatever it takes to protect innocents, but that also makes him reckless and unpredictable.
Yo Han is calm, efficient, and always has a carefully calculated plan, but that also makes him cold and ruthless.
All of this from one single scene.
They learn so much about each other — and we about them — in this one scene that you don't really need much more to understand just how violently these two opposing forces are going clash as the drama progresses. This scene is MARVELLOUS.
Even more so since they don't speak a WORD to each other.
They talk to side characters, but not each other and still, SOMEHOW, this one scene contains so much information — so much TENSION — that you can cut it with a knife. This, even more so than their first meeting, is where the foundation for their relationship is laid and they manage to do it entirely through actions and reactions.
These two will be the death of me, I swear.
In conclusion: FUCK YES I LOVE THIS DRAMA.
You can pry it from my cold, dead hands.
End of meta.

a couple weeks ago, i saw a conversation asking if virtual photographers should be called "content creators," and it's a topic that's kind of been rolling around in my brain since i saw it. very raw brain dump under the cut:
the question was framed with the implication that "content creator" is a, idk, like some kind of aspirational, prestigious title, and since it was asked in a vp community, pretty much all the answers were yes. a lot of the reasons for why it should be considered content creation were like it's really hard work (with a fair amount of comments that it's harder work than streaming/making videos (which as someone who has done all of the above, idk if i'd agree with that, but ymmv)), it's an art form, it serves the same function for companies as other "content," etc.
there's a lot to unpack here, and this is just some cursory thoughts so im not gonna touch on all of it, but i just thought it was really interesting how so many people were so adamantly defending the honor of being called a "content creator" because I've long felt like it's a term that devalues creative work.
i'm especially not fond of it fandom spaces because i feel like it puts really weird and harmful expectations on people who make fanworks (either by the community or on themselves) to treat fandom like a side hustle or even a professional venture rather than a hobby. not that there can't be some overlap, especially nowadays, but i'm just very protective of my personal fandom experience being a reprieve from all that nonsense.
and tbh, i feel a little weird when people comment on my stuff and refer to it as "content." it's usually complimentary, which of course i really appreciate (and if you've ever referred to my stuff as "content," it's totally fine, please don't feel bad, especially if you're not a native English speaker--i know the term is ubiquitous in English-speaking social media spaces and these connotations aren't universal even to native English speakers), but i just don't think of anything i make as "content." even when i was a streamer and felt closer to the whole "content creation" mindset, i still always felt kind of disconnected from the term. and the stuff i do for cyberpunk (art, fic, vp, all of it), i would collectively refer to as "fan works," not "content." "fan works" just feels so much warmer and sincere and soulful.
i will say, though, that it's a battle of semantics that i've largely let go, tbh--even I've caught myself on a few occasions using it as a collective term for a creative body of work online--but i just thought it was kind of interesting that my immediate reaction upon seeing that question was "i don't want VPers to be called 'content creators' because i think that cheapens their work" only to see a slew of VPers proudly say YES WE ARE CONTENT CREATORS AND WE DESERVE THAT RECOGNITION.
my perspective, though, is from one as a fan who just wants to make and share stuff for fun and doesn't have any grand professional aspirations with what I'm making. i think the conversation i was reading through was between a lot of people who did have those sorts of aspirations with their virtual photography, which opens up a bunch of other shit that i don't feel like getting into right now bc it's getting late, lmao.

Also I may be alone on this but I think Izu should have been a villain or be with Shig (not shippong talking) like, they could have balanced each other. I say always, it makes 0 sense for Izu think bk is cool.
But why I think they would be a good duo?
1) Shig never called him deku. NEVER
2) Izu is a very smart person and could have helped in Shig's plans. Also...forced the man to have more emotional maturity. I dont think he is a manchild - looking at AFO, what is up with fandom to give he bad traits of character A to character B?- just he could grown that mindset.
3) Their goals could be more sympathetic. The hero commission and how people sit idly as let heroes to break their backs to save one person.
4) also the contrast of how Shimura vs Midoriya can be perceived. Like, in a non war era, imagine people find out he is a Shimura? Would people try to reach and "save" him? Would they offer the same courtesy to Izu?
5) Shig is canonically fine with quirkless stuff. Imagine Izu in such positive enverioment for once. "But Shig is a villain?" Yes. And he would change for the best too. Grant in this au...I dont see necessity of LoV and they would nees to be more morally grey and not "kill is fun" (I can see this working only with Shig)
6) The arcs would make sense. The mc and Shig are facing bigger enemies, we see their struggles and their wins
7) Izu beating up BK. Its not a big challange, he could have done this ages ago...all he needes was someone to tell him YOU CAN DO IT
8) AFO has 2 haters who are about to destroy him.
9) imagine AM reaction to know afo was destroyed by shig and Izu.
I may be off here but like...only Shig seems to react positively to Izu being quirkless or to quirkless stuff. And look, at this point, Izu and Shig should go destroy stuff together.
Hi @mikeellee 👋,
I do like the Villian!Izu trope in fanfics (although its really hard to find one where he is not obsessed with Bkg or the story isn't BkDk 🤮.)
Also I do see Izu and Shig as a good team as well, I have mentioned before how I believe Shig should have been the rival of MHA.
I agree with the points you listed about Izu and Shig and how they could have made a good duo. The LOV would need to be more morally grey to make this work too and both Izu and Shig could easily grow off each other - Shig growing out of the "Destroy everything" motivation and for Izu to stop seeing himself as useless.
Also canonically, bar Toga, the main three villian's being "saved" all have a connection to a hero, Shig to Nana and Dabi to Endeav and Shoto. So would Villian!Izu be offered the opportunity to be saved? A child villain is sympathetic however no one seems to care too much about Mustard so that's an interesting question to think about. I do think in this AU Shig would insist upon Izu being saved with him if a hero tries to save / redeem him.
Izu deserves every opportunity to dunk on both Bakugou and AFO (AFO with Shig's help.) I can see AM being very proud of them (even if they are both villains) wrecking AFO's legacy together.

COMMISSION: Gundham Tanaka x Female Reader Part 1
Info: Island Mode, no despair. Takes place on Jabberwock Island. Genre is Fluff, oblivious crush to lovers, SFW, cute flirting. Reader uses she/her. Reader is the Ultimate Cardiologist, focused on medical stuff and knowledge of the heart!
Total fic length is 7K words split into 3 parts.
Part 2 Part 3
Tumblr media
It had been mere hours since they’d all arrived on this island, Y/N and her classmates, that is. They’d been given the run-down by this strange animatronic rabbit named Usami - who claimed to be their teacher - but their heads still pounded with the mystery of it all. At best, the more positive of their crowd were pushing their questions to the back of their minds and trying to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and at worst, the skeptics of their group, like the spiky-headed Hajime Hinata, were investigating ruthlessly and refusing to take the white bunny at her word. Determined to figure out why they were here and how on Earth none of them could remember traveling to this deserted island, Hajime and a few others were making rounds, patrolling the different islands, insistent on not having a lick of fun. Y/N on the other hand, anxious about both the crowd of strangers around her and the scale of the island, tired for no obvious reason, and dazed, merely sat with her other more nervously-inclined peers and listened to Usami explain things, just one more time.
Their new “teacher” Usami (though Y/N could’ve sworn there were no four-legged instructors mentioned on Hope’s Peak’s website) had handed out these curious little golden crystals to each of the students, and urged them to get to know each other, form bonds, make friends, and spread hope throughout the island. When they felt like their relationship with another of the students had reached a new level, when their bond strengthened deep in their hearts, they were to exchange one of these crystals, dubbed Hope Fragments. Usami, knowing how teens would do anything to get a school assignment quickly out of the way, warned that she would be watching always, so mindlessly giving away one’s Hope Fragments to get it over with would not be tolerated.
At first, upon hearing these words, Y/N squirmed in her skin, shook in her boots. She was completely and utterly socially inept, and was positive that her classmates would be able to tell almost immediately. She’d never had any friends to begin with, but this school trip might end with her going into the negatives. On the other hand… she couldn’t deny the tiny seed of excitement that threatened to bloom inside of her. This could be good: social interactions forced by a teacher. They had to get rid of those fragments, right? They couldn’t reject her, it’s an assignment, mandatory hangouts… did thinking like that make her the Ultimate Loser? Maybe. Was this mindset selfish? Forcing her peers to deal with her awkward self - a girl who lacked any social grace - surely they would find a way to get out of being around her…
Now her mind was racing once again. Was this a competition? Is this for a grade? She began to perspirate at the thought.
Free to roam, the cynical members of the class got to work ignoring Usami’s assignment. Rather than make friends, they asked if anyone could remember anything: a boat, a plane, a permission slip, what day it was, their ultimate talents, anything for context. Hajime spat his words at rabbit, asking how this was even educational. Surely a prestigious academy had better coursework and lessons in mind. Y/N, resolved to not be the absolute largest disappointment on the island, moseyed around, scoping out the wide range of personalities and talents she had to compete with.
FREE TIME EVENT 1 - INTRODUCTIONS
Some time had passed, and the sun still shined as brightly as ever. When they first arrived it must have been early morning, if the heat and position of the sun were anything to go by. Now it was around noon, and Y/N had successfully made it around the entire first island, where everyone congregated and agreed to make their home base, what with the resort and amenities. People wandered to the other islands, but always made their way back, so she had the opportunity to (albeit awkwardly and briefly) make almost everyone’s acquaintance. There were but a few names left on her list to check off. Some classmates she pointedly spent more time with, thinking she’d click with them better, but in the end always tore herself away from the conversation first, not wanting to come off as needy or be a bother. A couple of the talented teens were a joy to converse with, and others she made a note to avoid. There was the handsy Teruteru, and the vitriolic Hiyoko, who reminded her too much of her middle school bullies to ever get close to, but then there were, on the other end of the spectrum, absolute rays of sunshine like Sonia Nevermind or Ibuki Mioda. Beautiful and extroverted girls like that were the type she admired. Of course, there were quite a few of the students that she found highly attractive. Akane’s form was stunning, Chiaki was adorable, Hajime had a classic handsomeness, and most of all, she found herself particularly taken with the animal lover, the Ultimate Breeder, Gundham Tanaka. She could sense that he was an introvert, a bit of an outcast, and she always found herself drawn to those types. Not only did she find familiarity in them, but she felt the need to befriend them, so they never had to feel the way she did. Gundham was definitely different, that was obvious, but besides that, he was extremely good looking. Though he often hid hid face in the layers of his purple scarf, she’d gotten a good look at him several times, as he somehow seemed to be in the same place she was all morning. He was striking, pale and uniquely dressed, mysteriously interesting.
At the moment, Y/N was with Mikan, who seemed to cling to her every word and gesture. She was rapidly asking questions, wanting desperately to get to know Y/N more and more. It came as a shock to Y/N, who had never known anyone to latch onto to her like this. She chalked it up to their similar interests and experiences - Mikan being the Ultimate Nurse and Y/N being the Ultimate Cardiologist- but felt uncomfortable all the same. This was a totally new experience for her.
It was after a good while of chatting with Mikan that she noticed Gundham once again, staring from the other end of the super market, over near the snack section. Mikan was very sweet, if a bit skittish, but Y/N needed a bit of a break from all the questions. Since she hadn’t officially introduced herself to the Ultimate Breeder, she politely bowed to Mikan and made a swift exit, shuffling over to where Gundham was. He seemed to see her coming and finally realize he was staring, looking away quickly.
“I don’t believe I’ve gotten your introduction fragment yet,” she smiled timidly, cautiously. She held out hers, spinning it around in her hand before tucking it back into her bag. He snorted a small exhale of acknowledgement through his nostrils, before digging his chin back into the depths of the scarf. “I uh… I think we have to get at least one fragment from everyone today, so uh… do you maybe wanna head to the ranch with me? We can talk on the way there, it’s the only place I haven’t checked out on the main island yet. Also, I heard you like animals, you know with you talent an’ all. So…?” Her words trailed off, waiting for a response apprehensively.
“... Very well,” he seemed to hesitate, huffing before giving a response, “but keep your distance, lest you be infected with the curse that plagues my earthly vessel. Mere mortals such as yourself could not begin to comprehend the danger.” He gestured dramatically before opening the door to the market, allowing her to exit first.
Uh… okay dude… wasn’t planning to get close anyways… she thought, a bit amused inside her own head. She’d heard through the gossip of the others that Gundham was a bit odd and eccentric, but now she would get to see it firsthand and up close. She didn’t mind however, as again, the loners, the misfits, and the weirdos often drew her interest. Already she could tell he would have a particular way of talking, and for some reason, it didn’t bother her a bit, like it clearly bothered the others enough for them to mention it.
The made their way to the ranch in silence, until Y/N could feel that silence a little too much for comfort and spoke up:
“So you’re Gundham Tanaka right? I’m Y/N L/N. It’s nice to meet you officially. I think I’ve gotten to most of the other students.” She hugged the strap of her school bag a bit tighter, as if it would provide some sense of security.
“Ahh, so I see that once again my reputation precedes me! Yes… I am Gundham Tanaka, overlord of ice. You already knew my name, and remember it well, for it is the name that shall one day rule this dark plane of existence. I shall remember your title, and our contract will be sealed for all eternity with this dark catalyst thrust upon us by the un-rabbit!” Little claws reached up from a fold in his scarf, a Hope Fragment clasped between them. Gundham pinched the gem from the little hamster’s grasp, and presented it to her like a cursed artifact.
“Oh my goodness, is that a hamster?!” She gasped at the sight of the furball releasing the gem to its master. Upon picking up the heightening tone of her voice, three more rodents of varying fur patterns and size popped out, taking up their posts on their master’s shoulders or nestled in his coiffed hair. “Four hamsters?!” Gundham jumped back a bit, startled by the sudden raise in her voice, but soon steadied himself.
“These are the Four Dark Devas of Destruction. Hamsters are merely their temporary form while their souls are ensnared on this hell planet. You will address them with respect!” The hamsters, looking prideful, seemed to agree with their owner’s words.
“Oh, y-yes, of course, my bad. May I hold one of them? I love animals, especially tiny ones.” She bent forward to get a better look at the one on his right shoulder, and he took another step back, uneasy. She noticed this, and stood back up with an apologetic look. Maybe she was overstepping, she thought, however Gundham seemed to stop and consider her request, looking away in thought for a moment.
“...It is not my choice who my Devas choose to deem worthy of their touch, however it has come to my attention that the Devas sense no malicious intent in you, so yes, you may for the moment, hold greatness in your grasp.” And like clockwork, a loyal little hamster slid down its master’s coat sleeve and jumped ship from his arm to hers. She gasped, her mouth a bit agape, thoroughly impressed. The little creature crawled upward to her wrist as she raised her hands slowly so she could cup it securely.
“So cute!” She nuzzled the Deva to her cheek as they continued their trek to the ranch. “And so noble, of course!” She decided to play along to appease Gundham as she saw a potential friend, her very first potential friend, in him. Gundham’s cheeks warmed a bit, flustered at both her compliment and the sight of her cuddling Maga-Z to her face.
“Of course,” he cleared his throat, “I see you are an excellent judge of energies.” She smiled at his version of a returned compliment, quickly thinking of a way to keep the conversation going, as was taught to her in all of her self help and socializing books.
“So, all these islands, what is there like five of six of them? It’s a bit overwhelming, huh? I mean, Usami didn’t even mention how long we have to explore or get all these fragments… or when we would get to head back home. Ah, speaking of -” Y/N shifted the Deva to one hand, reaching for her fragment to hand to the boy beside her. “Our intro fragment. Everyone has deemed introductions worthy of the first trade. I have a ton of them, so here’s my first one for you!” He recoiled a bit from her touch, avoiding skin-to-skin contact altogether by switching to his bandaged hand before reaching out again. Even then, he snacthed it from her to evade her touch. Highly empathetic for negative emotions, she was already starting to understand that this whole facade, this whole act was a wall he put up. He chased people off, acted strange so he could confirm and guard against the things people were going to say about him anyway. She wondered what made him that way in the first place. It was clear that he didn’t like people getting close, physically or emotionally, and she could respect that. She’d felt like that often as well.
As he took her fragment, another Deva slid down from its owner’s crown, Gundham’s own fragment in it’s mouth, and dove into her school bag. Transaction complete.
“Hmm… it seems the Devas have taken a liking to you. You should be honored.” He admitted. She nodded back, happily accepting the second Deva now nesting into her hair.
~
Arriving at the ranch, they looked around for awhile before she enquired about his acceptance into Hope’s Peak. How he was scouted, and all that. Gundham of course put on a performance for something that could be described in a few sentences, then it was her turn. She revealed her story to him, about how she was a bit of an accidental discovery. While on a vacation to Tokyo, a famous voice actor who was also on vacation went into sudden cardiac arrest at a cafe where she was eating lunch. She used her medical knowledge to essentially save his life, and as fate would have it, a Hope’s Peak Academy alumni was there to witness the event and notified his contacts back at the academy. Soon enough she was contacted and asked to come aboard after a deep dive into the hard work of her past. She knew all those internships, books, study sessions and online courses would pay off one day.
“So you are a witch of the heart, then.” Gundham commented after she finished. “Not only are you able to cast spells over the hearts of men and hold the power of life and death, but you have mind controlled your way into a most coveted position.” He looked over the animal pens as he spoke, already contemplating how to improve them.
“My field of study is cardiology, if that’s what you mean. Medical progress and study is my entire life. But you’re right, for fate to align so well and all of these things to fall into place perfectly for me to be scouted, I must be some sort of witch…” she grineed sheepishly, hoping her humor wasn’t too bold or cheesy. She wasn’t used to joking around with others. He nodded his agreement back to her.
“Yes…” a hint of suspicion lingered in his voice, “That Mikan is definitely a witch, and you seem to be in a coven with her…”
“Well, don’t worry, animals are safe from my heart spells. I have no power over them.” She now had all four Devas crawling over her, examining her hair between their claws, biting at her sleeves. Gundham took in the sight, more than slightly taken aback by their opinion of her. Was she casting a heart spell on him? No matter, he would never speak those words aloud anyway.
“Hmpf…” he scoffed. “No one has power over the Devas, not even I.”

Thank you for responding to my baby Astarion request I appreciate it sm hehe—
I just wanna comfort him so much and I feel like he’d benefit a lot from getting little time, I totally agree with an earlier hc of yours that he likes being bottlefed. I also feel like he’s very particular about his caregivers in that he chooses one person and that’s it. It definitely has root in his trauma but he just wants his one mama/dada all the time and if he ever has to be left with another cg he’ll always be extra difficult but he’s all smiles when he sees his special person and a lot of burying his face in their chest for the rest of the night.
Oh my goodness it's no problem at all!! I've been rotating bg3 in my head for the past week so it's v nice to babble about xD
Waaa yes sameee, after 200 years of such horrendous treatment, this little vampling deserves some tiny time and caring😭💖
Drinking from creatures, in a sense, is like bottle feeding. But, being craddled, getting to look at his carer while being fed instead of staring at their shoulder/the ground as he sinks his teeth? Ooh he could get use to this☆
He absolutely would need a main/constant in his tiny mindset carer. Astarion needs that consistency and knowledge that he isn't going to be abandoned!
Oh gosh, now I'm thinking about his carer (maybe Tav?) having to go out for the afternoon to do something, definitely not safe for baby vampires. And, Gale is given the task of babysitting baby Astarion
And ooooh boy, is he a fussy baby xD Gale has exhausted all his fun wizard tricks and stories, and he can't just feed Astarion sweets like you do non-vampire babies to calm him!
So, the poor wizard is sitting in his tent, lightly bouncing the teary Astarion on his knee, trying his darndest to soothe the baby elf!
But, the moment Tav returns, Astarion is squirming from Gale's lap, little hands shooting up in the air when he sees his dada/mama peeking into the tent. They scoop Astarion up, chuckling over how quick he was to cling to them /and/ upon seeing Gale's face of relief knowing Tav was back (Tav finds Gale a very nice magic item for this) and rock Astarion as they stand, cooing over him and telling him just how much they missed their baby boy♡

As an acespec person who is likely some kind of arospec too, Alastor ships give me mixed feelings.
Like, I'm extremely uncomfortable with people really sexualizing Alastor, especially in art. It feels...gross. At the same time, I see people staunchly against people shipping Alastor in any way that's not platonic, which...makes me frustrated.
Look, he is canonically ace, but 1. asexuality has levels, 2. Alastor has no idea what ace means, and 3. words are stupid.
I had no idea I was nonbinary or ace as a kid. I knew how I felt, but I thought it was within the range of "normal". I thought I was "just a person" and "a romantic". I thought I was "picky", and that's why everyone was having crushes while I was chill by myself or with friends. I thought maybe I was scared at the idea of being that vulnerable with someone as someone with anxiety, trust issues, and who grew up falling asleep to Law and Order SVU. And I'm a Zillenial.
Alastor is from a whole other century, in a much more repressive society. If I today needed the internet to figure out that my experience is abnormal and there's a word for it, back when the internet wasn't a thing and queer circles were trying to hide from sight, how the fuck is he gonna know? Especially when he loathes seemingly anything that's past his time, which the concept isn't but the term is as is the way he might find out about it. Fuck, we know he doesn't know what ace means.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He also has no reason to seek out an answer. I wasn't looking when I found my answers. I stumbled upon people who shared experiences who had words that clicked with me. Hell, it'd be easier to think it's normal with how much "waiting until marriage" has been historically pushed. He doesn't know there's even something to look for.
In all likelihood, he thought the "right person" might come along someday, but he also had other priorities and didn't care if he found them or not. Why would I go searching for a love I may never find when I can spend my time focusing on my career, dancing with friends, and plotting various murders? That sounds like a lot more fun and a more effective use of time, wouldn't you agree?
And look, in general "finding the right person" isn't a "cure" for asexuality anyway. Except it can look like that on the surface if someone is anything other than 100% sex-repulsed asexual. And (allos writing aces don't seem to know this) sex-repulsion can also be very spectrum-y too, and actively fluctuate.
I'm demisexual, and would actually consider myself sex-repulsed. I have never liked viewing sexual images or videos, it makes me borderline nauseous. I absolutely will not read pure smut. The concept of engaging in sexual activity myself makes me cringe. To me, sex generally brings to mind too much physical contact and gross bodily fluids. I'm disgusted by even getting other peoples' sweat on me. I'm okay listening to friends talk about their interactions only to a limited extent--I need to be able to have distance and not be given extreme detail.
But if I think about someone I actually like, or if I'm reading a story that has had a buildup in the relationship, it's...nice. It's a very different experience. It seems less like too much touch and gross bodily fluids and more like intimacy. It's...I'd almost call it pleasant? It's hard to describe, but it's a complete shift in mindset depending on circumstances. Most of my inherent reflexive disgust just goes away.
There's a chance Alastor could be like that. He is, quite clearly, some kind of sex-repulsed (thank you Angel Dust) but that doesn't completely block him out of sexual interest. But Angel is...excessive about that side of his personality. And that could be part of why the repulsion seems so strong with him. There are levels of tolerance. I can watch Hazbin Hotel and Angel Dust, but I can't comfortably watch Helluva Boss because the first episode Stolas is...very explicit. It's just too uncomfortable for me to sit through. (this also isn't a judgement of whether it's a good show or not, it's just not for me)
And even if Alastor doesn't experience attraction, he could still have sexual engagement with someone for other reasons. I don't think we have solid confirmation that he's aro, but even then that is again a spectrum and Alastor has no inkling on the concept.
He could involve himself in sex because he has romantic feelings for someone and that outweighs his disgust. Or perhaps even intense platonic feelings, disconnecting the act of sex from romance entirely. QPPs can do anything they want and honestly I feel like those labels are super blurry anyways, because what denotes an action as romantic or sexual or platonic besides intent and perception? Like, friends can cuddle, happy lovers can sleep in separate beds, people joke about kissing the homies good night. Words are messy and nothing matters.
He could also use it as a manipulation tactic. Because if there's one thing we know about Alastor, it's that he's a manipulative little shit. And while the reward would need to be extremely high, I could see Alastor using someone's attraction to him against them in that way. Why would he not use every tool at his disposal?
And from personal experience, a lot of writing in the fandom is through the lens of Alastor being non-sex-repulsed asexual, or otherwise demi- or greysexual. And while I could definitely use more fluidity in the sex-repulsion category (cuz unfortunately a lot of people write it as either completely repulsed or not repulsed whatsoever), at least a good number of people are trying to be respectful. Just because they ship Alastor with someone doesn't mean they are being disrespectful or casting aside his orientation by default.
And while Alastor being enthusiastic about it is extremely ooc and I hate that with my very soul, people are allowed to play with fictional characters how they want to. They aren't real. Neither are the Barbies whose faces you smashed together as a kid. They aren't actively hurting real people, and don't necessarily think differently of real ace people.
I'm aware that I may be projecting my sexuality onto Alastor given that he has shown sex-repulsion that I relate to. Maybe I think the idea of him being romantically involved with someone is cute. Maybe I don't mind the idea of him doing sexual things for love or other personal gain like power or control. But who the fuck am I hurting by doing that? Who is anyone hurting by doing that?
And dude, you're watching a show about redeeming sinners, showing that some of the worst people can change and puritanical people are irrationally judgemental asshats. Someone portraying an ace character as not 100% sex-repulsed is a weird line to draw there.
If you're a 100% sex repulsed asexual who's uncomfortable with people shipping Alastor, that's perfectly fine. But not every asexual completely shares your experience, and life itself is uncomfortable. And for better or worse that isn't going to change. I suggest you simply avoid engaging as much as you can for your own peace of mind if nothing else. Blocking tags and accounts is actually great for that. Someone doesn't have to be a dick for you to block them, and you won't have to see their content anymore. Tumblr Savior is a helpful tool too.
Tumblr media
This is my very longwinded way of saying just because Alastor is aroace doesn't mean he can't be in a romantic-coded relationship, a qpp that isn't specifically stated to be such, or engage in sexual acts. And writing him ooc is icky but also completely fine and people can do what they want.

Headcanons on being Billy Loomis's girlfriend and becoming a killer with him?
This was a greatly appreciated challenge, okay? I literally jumped at this one. Having said this, I preface with a strong word of caution.. I took a darker and more realistic approach. I hope that's alright. I thank you for the ask because this... it helped me step outside of my lil comfort zone of smut, angst and romance only and I've been trying to work up the nerve for some time now.
Fun fact... as I wrote the last bit of this headcanon list out, Runnin Up That Hill came on Spotify and I feel like it fit with reader's mindset all things considered.
Tag List ; @schizoauthoress - be warned.. this is dark. do not read if you feel like you're not up to it, bb. This goes for anyone, tagged or stumbled upon by chance.. Read all the warnings. Please. I don't wanna do any sort of harm or anything. the above person is the only one present on my horror movie tags, btw. If you'd like to be added, the link is below.
Other Stuff ; tag list doc || my rules - fandoms and some of the characters I write for || requests open, any and all fandoms / characters listed are fair game just not pro wrestling at the moment.
I do not consent to having my work reposted elsewhere. Or having it reworded and reposted here.

Minors, dni. Absofuckinlutely not. This one is not sexual in nature but.. It's a dead dove / don't eat type thing. The actions detailed vaguely within this are not suitable for you and I do not endorse or agree with them.. If you've a strong aversion to blood mentions, kissing,  violence and murder mentions, death of a character , killing sprees, an attempt at writing realistic reprecussions for violent crimes by someone who is not in the field of law enforcement, psychiatry or anything of that nature so yeah.. might be a shade inaccurate and for that i'm also sorry. I tried... It's just a good idea all around to skip this is the darkness and anything other than a happy ending by normal terms is less than appealing, alright? Because there are consequences for actions and those are heavily implied here.
Tumblr media
✯ It happened by accident. You didn’t set out to kill the person you had to kill and you damn sure didn’t plan to have Billy Loomis somehow stumble upon the entire thing as it unfolded, either… You had your back against a wall literally. The only way out of the situation was outcrazy the other person. The last person you expected to help you was Billy Loomis. But he did. And the help you got in ridding yourself of a long running problem in your life came with the small price of having Billy bound to you. Billy Loomis holding something over your head other than the crush he knew you had on him and taunted you with the very night he helped you burn the body after sneaking into the crematorium in town. But he promised that the person he’d helped you get rid of wouldn’t ever hurt you again and he meant it, sealing it with a kiss and a blood pact. His word was his bond.
✯ You thought you’d feel remorse. You did at first, but then the euphoria took over. The sheer relief at having finally handled a long running problem in your life awakened something dark inside you. The way it felt to know someone absolutely fucking vile took their last breath at your hand. A horrible person was gone and couldn’t hurt anybody anymore because of you. Billy killed for the hell of it. For you, it’s more of a ridding society of it’s disgusting blights. You tend to go after the people who hurt others, who do unspeakable things and yet somehow continue to dodge proper punishment. And this makes Billy so goddamn hot. There’s just something about your righteous indignation and the way you handle it that makes him fall and he falls hard.
✯ It doesn’t take long for you to get antsy. There’s so much more to be done. The desire to do something, to right abhorrent wrongs.. And Billy just wants another kill and he’ll take it any way he can get it. You’re his girl now and you have been for a while by this point so.., if you want something, he’ll move mountains to give it to you. If this means the waters run red with somebody’s blood or walls are painted with it, so be it. The two of you think you’re in the clear and the search begins for another target, somebody, anybody to sate your combined bloodlust but just as you’re closing in on one, law enforcement closes in on him. They believe you’re just a hostage, collateral damage from the murder of the person you actually murdered. Not Billy, you.
✯ You discuss it and you agree that somewhere south of the border. Or somewhere far outside of the US with very lengthy extradition laws and a lot of red tape is your best bet and on your way to escape, a cross country killing spree begins. It’s tricky at first because you have to change your MO completely and this is when Billy, a heat of the moment, stone cold crazy blitz killer truly shines. And you’re there, by his side, helping him dispose of the aftermath every step of the way.
✯ The end is bloody. Violent. And you’re ripped apart from him with such brutal finality. Watching him die in front of your eyes shatters you. You pick up the gun he dropped and you unload it. Round after round and your mind just goes black. When you come around a little later, you find yourself in a cell. With a straight jacket your only company. But you know there’s one surefire way to reunite so maybe that’s why when the public defender shows up to appeal to you to take an insanity plea on the grounds of Stockholm Syndrome, you adamantly refuse. You go even further and you do the one thing you can do for the man you loved in clearing his name of at least one wrong he’d been accused of. You give a confession, in full. The insanity plea you were offered disappears and now it’s down to the choice between life in prison or the death sentence. And maybe, to an extent, they’re right, you are insane. But as soon as you pick the death sentence and seal your own fate, you can hear him. “Atta girl. Come home to daddy, sweetheart.” and you smile the entire long walk down to the execution chamber. You take your last breath knowing that Billy’s waiting for you. Probably impatient, probably bitching because it took too long and the plan was never for the truth to come out in the first place, but… He’s waiting. And soon you’ll be reunited.

Okay. Finished Bambi. The movie really only encompasses a little more than half the book. It ends showing Bambi running off with faline into adulthood, happy. The book however continues and shows Bambi growing older and wiser in the ways of the forest and ultimately becoming the new prince of the forest. He is alone all the time, has no companions, has lost interest in faline and not seen her in some time. The book ends with him encountering some frightened fawns calling for their mothers and chastising them for not being able to take care of themselves. Ultimately this is a book written in 1929 about the life cycle of a wild prey animal that is like, directly pushing the narrative that hunting is bad and hunters are evil.
Which... I don't really agree with. There are no predators in this book, not of deer. The only thing the deer have to worry about is humans. They're not afraid of wolves or lions or any other large carnivores. Which means... Yeah, letting them run unchecked probably isn't actually great for the environment. Especially when we see how devastating winter already is. Now, maybe it's just that the meat industry was not as evil yet in 1929 as it is today? But I am of the distinct opinion that meat from a wild deer is more ethically sourced than meat from a factory farm cow. The conditions those animals are put through are so beyond inhumane it's indescribable. That deer had a life, a natural life, and fell victim to a predator. Its life was better than that cows ever was. Now, sport hunting is different- sort of, plenty of people who sport hunt do still use all the meat and pelts they harvest, and what harm is there in enjoying the work you are already doing?
I don't think anyone will disagree with me that killing animals for fun with no purpose isn't really... Good. If you're shooting deer and just taking antlers and letting them rot and it's not got some other purpose like culling the herd or preventing the spread of disease... Don't do that? Not that animals don't sometimes kill for fun but. We don't need to cause more suffering in the world than we have to.
It's hard for me to really get into the mindset of what the author might have really been trying to convey with this. I don't know what it's like to live in Germany in 1929 so I can't really imagine what kind of world he was living in, the world of humans and his morals or the world of ethical hunting and animal welfare. It is certainly presented that the best way to survive, to be proud and noble and regal, is to have no relations with anyone, to speak to no one, to have no friends or curiosity, to trust nothing and no one and to rely only upon oneself. Also to just get up and leave your wife one day and never go back.
On one hand, on a completely literal level, this is probably a very accurate depiction of a deers life cycle and how a deer survives long enough to become an elder. Only the lonely survive. On a message level I'm really not sure what it's trying to tell me. It does feel a bit like it's making a broader statement than just a brutal accurate depiction of wild animal life. It also hit me with a steel chair out of left field by dropping what I think the thesis statement of the book may be and it's that god is to us as we are to all other animals. Arbiter of life and death. Incomprehensible. Beyond understanding. Something greater than man is out there.
That shit was wild I wasn't expecting this to suddenly reveal Oh Fuck It's About God. So like. It's saying something. It's definitely saying something. I'm really not sure I have the context to fully understand what and I'm not sure I'd agree with it even if I did.

I agree with your stance on AI art and that the worry and fear-mongering is over-reacting and that it will eventually become obsolete in one way or another, but what's your take on how AI takes up other artists works? I believe an AI can't be it's own thing, so it takes from others, so it's all just a big mess of everyone in a way.
i don't mind answering, since this question is a good one that i'd like to give my opinion on. my personal baseline for what kind of work transformative (ethically speaking, the law here is not a good basis to argue upon) is quite broad. to me, the only kind of art theft that really concerns me is directly taking someone's work, making no changes, adding no new ideas, and passing it off as ones own. i won't deny that it's possible for this to happen with an image generator or gpt, it's called overfilling, but machine learning developers and users agree that this is a major flaw to be overcome, and it is a top priority of the developers prevent overfilling (if it's not "generative" enough it's considered pretty bad, only acceptable for beginner hobbyists).
even still, i think it is a very case by case kind of thing, and i believe that with few exceptions most examples of "art theft" are studios and companies exploiting gig workers, not a comparable scenario. i don't believe a non-overfilling transformer is meaningfully more thieving than an ordinary person taking inspiration from a broad range of art and media they see, it may feel more corporate and calculated, but the issue of corporate art directors taking ideas from the little guys has a storied, and unfortunately in this eceonomic system, inevitable history. i think machine learning programs can certainly be used to do "art theft" directly (for example, those bots that sell t shirts under twitter posts) but it is certainly not an imageGAN issue. now personally while in theory i wouldn't mind my artwork being fed into a training set (it definitely already has been) i DO have many privacy concerns for how my data is being used, particularly to track me and serve me ads. this is a larger issue of corporate and state surveillance that goes far beyond machine learning and certainly beyond gpt type programs tho.
also i think there is too much of an individualism and a lack of perspective when it comes to "art theft" and who "owns" what in the art world because people have not fully unpacked the mindset inherited from a the capitalist ideas of copyright and intellectual property. to me, photos are meant to be collages, music is made to be covered and remixed, techniques are meant to be copied and most relevant to my medium, i don't have an issue with tracing at all. to me it's only bad if the execution is bad, or there is not enough meaning, like all unsuccessful art, which is of course contextual, and depends on how you personally feel about it, not an objective moral or legal statement on whether it is wrong or right (what a run on sentence!)
P. S. if you want to trace my work go ahead, just make it good and make it meaningful or i'm going to make fun of you

It's almost 2am and I can't sleep so maybe I'll write about my WoL.
Ryune (named M'rune at the time) grew up in the Fringes as part of the M Tribe not too far from the Peering Stones. She had three siblings, all older, and both parents were in her life. She was very young when Garlemald came. She lost her two older sisters when they went off to fight. Her first home was gone.
Most who survived ended up congregating at the Peering Stones for safety, but when her brother didn't come back from foraging, her mother went out to find him. They were later both found dead with a large amount of dead Garlean Soldier around. Fearing for their safety and completely devastated by it all, her father took her away, hoping to find solace deeper within Eorzea. Her second home was fled.
They had a rough time traveling through Shroud, but ended up being directed to Little Ala Mhigo once being rather unceremoniously ousted by a Serpent patrol. They were welcomed warmly enough at the time and were selected to make themselves useful. Ryune picked up leatherworking and helped on local patrols since the Brass Blades certainly weren't there to help them. Late into her teens, full of angst and hats towards Garlemald and what they had done to her family and people, then ended up I'm a lot of trouble. A local Ul'dahn youth had made a makeshift armor set to look garlean and was making fun of the refugees in the middle of the settlement as some cruel joke. Ryune snapped, and the boy was dead moments later. She fled South to the desert to evade the Blades, leaving her father and her second home behind.
She was found, exhausted, dirty, and dehydrated in the sands by an U Tribe hunting party and brought to their settlement. She told them what had transpired, expecting them to take her back or cast her out, but instead, she found them opening their home to her. Only a few days later, she spotted her father in the desert searching for her and brought him back. She told him she intended to stay and was going by the name U'ryen, at least for now. He agreed it would be for the best and that he was overjoyed that she was okay. He told her that he would now go to Limsa to lay low and make coin, but after he left, the only news she got was that he and the ship he had served on had been subsumed by the sea. Now 20 and finding herself quite restless, she packed her things and said her goodbyes, changing her hair and clothing and name to Ryune to better blend in as a common adventurer, and hopped on a trading cart for Ul'dah, unsure of what she might find, thus leaving her 4th home behind.
She made her home at the Shifting Snads for a while until the betrayal of the monetarists, forcing her from her 5th home. By the time she got settled in Coerthas with Alhpinaud and Tataru, she was fairly determined to not be cast out of her 6th home.
The Dragonsong War concluded. Ryune was called to the East where she would meet M'naago, a girl she had befriended as a child, and they would end up forming a relationship. This ended with her calling Gyr Abania her 7th home, and when it ended up in ruins by the hand of Zenos it was all anyone could do to stop her from getting herself killed by throwing herself at him.
At this point the concept of home had become more of a burden than a place ot rest, and so she sold her things she had in Courthas and stopped having a room at the Shifting Sands to go to. Knowing what it was like to lose her own, though. Made her that much more determined to get it back for others.
Being yanked into the First did not help this mindset. She never felt at rest here until the end of that story, and even then, she was wary of becoming too comfortable. Around this time, though, she began feeling something else, that perhaps her home was not a place but rather the people she trusted. She ended up spending a lot more time in the reconstructed Gyr Abania and with M'naago during this time as well as a company of amicable individuals she could call upon.
When the towers appeared, she was actually fearful. They, and the end of days, were a threat to her peace and to the people she cared about on an existential level, meaning the new concept of home she had was pretty much directly under attack. It pushed her to new heights but also gave her a new understanding. Knowing the truth about the Garleans, she now no longer hated them and instead saw them as victims. This was especially true upon seeing the devastation that had taken place in Garlemald, taking her back to her memories of her own small village in the Fringes in smoldering ruin.
At the conclusion of the events of Endwalker, she has her hands in every reconstruction effort she could get herself into. Her personal experiences in losing her home make her determined to help set things right, though she knows she can't truly replace what was lost. This was very fulfilling work and let her spend a lot of time with M'naago due to her experience in such endeavors and also having the time to enjoy her company in general.
But, natually, adventure always calls, and Ryune finds herself traveling all over the world, helping those in need.
Maybe I'll sleep now, that was nice to write about. I should go more in-depth with some of it sometime.

The relationship between Daemon and Nettles has always been portrayed as lovers in pre-asoiaf/pre-GOT and pre-Fire and Blood lore.
Sorry, I had a bug on my phone so I couldn't finish writing my message. (so sorry if you took that as an assault) This, above, is just something I see repeated very often. I'm not familiar with books in general, and I'd like to know / understand what people hear when they say that to support that the relationship has always been presented as sexual and or loving, so it's an undeniable truth . From what I understand, however, it is always through the biased accounts of maesters who did not attend the events that we were entitled to this information. Isn't the only maester who supported a different relationship the only one who actually saw Nettles and Daemon interact?
The only maester who actually interacted with Daemon while Daemon was with Nettles was Maester Norren the Lord of the Maidenpool’s household maester.
You can look at what both I and the-king-andthe-lionheart say HERE, HERE, and HERE. And if you care to see how I saw Nettles’ characterization, you can click HERE.
Or you can look through my blog (the long way) and search under the tag “daemon and nettles” to look at everything I and others write about this “ship”.
Below is me answering you about the unreliability of Fire and Blood and HotD/ASoIaF fandom’s use/twisting of this phenomenon.
Okay, so when we’re talking about unreliable narrators, people assume that because the narrator is heavily biased or lacking in possible info, that everything they say is false or 100% meant to deceive Or if they are like the HotD writers, they say this and then go on to have long, many ridiculous, interpretations as if their interpretations are the absolute facts while your (general “your”) opposing or contradictory ones are wrong, unfair, or “obviously” coming from book purists.
When there is an unreliable narrator(s), our job as readers/viewers (and the fun) is to pay very close attention to how the author/speaker uses words, know what those words would mean in the writers’ background/culture/position to understand their mindsets and how they see the world.
We need to have a good understanding of the culture/lore of the series to really even begin to get at the mysteries of the Dance, which btw is the one account of the Targ dynasty where gyldaysn expressly states the sources are the least reliable and where there is less information about the intimate events between the Targ family in Viserys I’ reign:
And here we must digress to say a word about our sources, for much of what happened in the years that followed happened behind closed doors, in the privacy of stairwells, council rooms, and the bedchambers, and the full truth of it will likely never be known. We have of course, the chronicles laid down by Grand Maester Runciter…and many a court document as well, all the royal decrees and proclamations, but these tell only a small part of the story. For the rest, we must look to accounts written decades later by the children and grandchildren of those caught up in the events of these times…; third-hand recollections of aged serving men relating scandals of their youth. While these are undoubtedly of use, so much time has passed between the event and the recording that many confusions and contradictions have inevitably crept in. nor do those remembrances always agree.
Unfortunately, this is also true of the two accounts by firsthand observers that have come down to us.
[...]
Septon Eustace and Mushroom do not always agree upon particulars, and at times their accounts are considerably at variance with one another, and with the court records and the chroniclers of Grand Maester Runciter and his successors. Yet their tales do explain much and more that might otherwise seem puzzling, and later accounts confirm enough of their stories to suggest that they contain at least some portion of truth. The question of what to believe and what to doubt remains for each student to decide.
[...]
Septon Eustace, who served in the royal sept in the Red Keep during much of this time, and later rose to the ranks of the Most Devout, set down the most detailed history of this period. As a confidant and confessor to King Viserys and his queens, Eustace was well-placed to know much and more of what went on. Nor was he reticent about recording even the most shocking and salacious rumors and accusations, though the bulk of The Reign of King Viserys, First of his Name, and the Dance of the Dragons that came after remains a sober and sometimes ponderous history.
[...]
To balance Eustace, we have The Testimony of Mushroom, based upon the verbal account of the court fool (set down by a scribe who failed to append his name) who at various times capered for the amusement of King Viserys, Princess Rhaenyra, and both Aegons, the Second and Third. A three-foot-tall dwarf possessed of an enormous head (and, he avers, and even more enormous member), Mushroom was thought feeble-minded, so kings and lords and princes did not scruple to hide their secrets from him. Whereas Septon Eustace records the secrets of bedchamber and brothel in hushed, condemnatory tones, Mushroom delights in the same, and his Testimony consists of little but ribald tales and gosip, piling stabbing, poisonings, betrayals, seductions, and debaucheries one atop the other. How much of this can be believed is a question the honest historian cannot hope to answer, but it is worth noting that King Baelor the Blessed decreed that every copy of Mushroom’s chronicle should be burned. Fortunately for us, a few escaped his fires.
[...]
The council convened in the queen’s apartments within Maegor’s Holdfast. Many accounts have come down to us of what was said and done that night. By far the most detailed and authoritative of them is Grand Maester Munkun’s The Dance of the Dragons, A True Telling. Though Munkun’s exhaustive history was not written until a generation later, and drew on many different sorts of materials, including maesters’ chronicles, memoirs, stewards’ records, and interviews with one hundred forty-seven surviving witnesses to the great events of these times, his account of the inner workings of the court relies upon the confessions of Grand Maester Orwyle, as set down before his execution. Unlike Mushroom and Septon Eustace, whose versions derive from rumors, hearsay, and family legend, the Grand Maester was present at the meeting and took part in the council’s deliberations and decisions…though it must be recognized that at the time he wrote, Orwyle was most anxious to show himself in a favorable light and absolve himself of any blame for what was to follow. Munkun’s True Telling therefore paints his predecessor in perhaps too favorable a light.
Gathering in the queen’s chambers as the body of her lord husband grew cold above were Queen Alicent herself; her father, Ser Otto Hightower, Hand of the King; Ser Criston Cole, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard; Grand Maester Orwyle; Lord Lyman Beesbury, master of coin, a man of eighty; Ser Tyland Lannister, master of ships, brother to the Lord of Casterly Rock; Larys Strong, called Larys Clubfoot, Lord of Harrenhal, master of whisperers; and Lord Jasper Wylde, called Ironrod, master of laws. Grand Maester Munkun dubs this gathering “the green council” in his True Telling.
And Munkun is used as a source from then on. But this  “extremely unreliable narrators” applies most to the account of the Dance rather than the enitre volume. It’s not to say that the entire volume isn’t still written by gyldayn (unreliable), but the Dance is the least reliable-ly told part of Targ history.
So all of the Dance’s historical tellings’s sources come from these main persons:
Mushroom the court fool
Septon Eustace
Grand Maester Munkun (but much later on, after Viserys I dies and coming from GM Orwyle plus various persons of differing generations telling the tales)
GM Runicter and the GMs after him/official royal declarations and recordings
This is what poorshadowspaintedqueens writes about writers specifically like Gyldayn, who is the in-universe writer of Fire and Blood:
There are hints throughout Fire & Blood that women were doing more behind the scenes and that the narrator (Gyldayn) just doesn’t care, unless they were also having scandalous sex. I, for one, think there was a lot more to Rhaenyra Targaryen, for instance, than those creepy, gross “lessons” Mushroom claimed she took from Daemon when she was 13, or having illegitimate kids with Harwin Strong and being “punished” by gaining weight (which is fatphobic as well as creepy). But a lot of that requires reading into the text and between the lines, rather than taking it at face value.
And, before people dive down my throat about it, it’s a completely legitimate way to read a text like this. Gyldayn himself admits that he’s building on biased sources throughout Fire & Blood. Sometimes he names them, sometimes he doesn’t. This is similar to what Western European historians of the 16th century and onward were doing. Earlier historians were differently dodgy, so I’m not going to go into those weeds here.
For example, the Anglica Historia of Polydore Vergil, which dates from the first half of the 16th century, purports to cover the history of England from its mythological founding to the reign of Henry VIII. Vergil was actually quite meticulous about his sources and made decent efforts to incorporate a lot of different material, but especially as he gets closer to his own lifetime, his biases really begin to show. He includes a scandalous story about King Richard III lusting after his teenaged niece Elizabeth of York and poisoning his wife in order to marry her. Elizabeth, according to him, was disgusted by this prospect and swore she would kill herself before allowing him to dishonour her. But Vergil also includes the detail that Elizabeth’s own mother sent her daughters to court because “so mutable is that sexe” that she fell prey to Richard’s flattery.

Fun fact:
When M&M and Gyro do the thing
They both have this mindset of “getting this out of their system”
They both just wanted it to be a one time thing.
It was hardly a secret that Gyro sort of liked her. Considering his possessiveness over her when it came to guys like Tim.
Part of him really did like her (she was so sweet and beautiful)
But he knew he couldn’t really make her happy in a relationship, nor could he manage a long term relationship with her.
He could do that with Johnny, but he could see that with her.
So he just thought he’d… indulge in her this one time. Get this out of his system so he can stop lo key lusting over her
M&M alternatively, had had a crush on this guy for quite a while,
But she also just knew that they couldn’t work in a relationship
She knew he liked Johnny more too.
So… for just, this one time she wanted to pretend that they’re together, so she can satisfy her fantasies and stop wishing for something that’s not gonna happen.
She just gets it out of her system.
But she accidentally gets something else in her system O.0 Lol (ya gotta love Reesey Piecey)
Ok, so here's the thought inside my head that's kinda based upon this one scene of the play Waitress I watched a while ago:
One night, M&M can't sleep, so she goes over to Gyro's sleeping bag and finds out that he's awake too. While Johnny sleeps somewhere not too far away and the fire dies down, M&M and Gyro have a nice little chat then she tries to go back to sleep.
But she can't. And it's not just her insomnia telling her that. It's her body, and more specifically--it's between her legs and her heart.
She couldn't stop thinking about Gyro, and if she wasn't going to do anything about it now, nothing would ever be done. And maybe,,, maybe he felt the same? She can't pretend that she didn't catch the way he looked her over, like he wanted her too for one selfish night.
So she sat back down next to him and kissed him on the lips. After that was like water rushing through a collapsing dam. It was all he needed to push forward because, hell, he wanted this too if it meant he could clear his head.
And Johnny was asleep. He wouldn't know.
M&M pulled back from the kiss, embarrassed at herself for even doing such a thing, but he told her it was alright. That he wanted it too. So they both agreed to have it out quickly and be done with it. And ofc, little did either of them know that something was actually going to come of it.
I imagine that M&M didn't actually know that she was pregnant with Reese until after the SBR race ended and Rina moved in to live with her. So that means, when she saw Johnny and Gyro off at the train station before they left for Wyoming, she didn't know that she was pregnant then. She wasn't showing very much, and the only real change she perceived then was sore breasts. And neither did the men notice, although Gyro did take notice of the way she hugged lightly and flinched if someone touched her chest. She was sore there, but he chalked it up to her recovery from their latest vicious stand battle.
He didn't know anything about Reese and M&M's pregnancy for damn near 20 years, and she never told him.
Imagine his surprise when he finds out that he has a son who is a young man. There must be so many emotions flooding over him at the time.
And in another scenario, imagine the heartbreak M&M could feel if Gyro passed on the Zeppeli torch to Reese and taught him the ways of the spin. It's heartbreaking here because Gyro also teaches Reese to suppress sentimentality, and M&M can see her lovely boy change into someone she doesn't recognize.
On another note, I thought it would be kinda endearing to have Reese, a 20 year old or so, meet Gyro for the first time and keep calling him "Sir," even when M&M eventually explains that Gyro is his dad lol.
Johnny was rightfully furious at Gyro over this revelation for both himself and for M&M. How could he knock up their best friend and leave her like that? And Gyro wished that he would have known because he would have visited and helped take care of them, or at least sent money to them.
He missed watching another one of his children grow up, and he realized another one of his biggest mistakes had burdened the lives of others. He wants to turn over a new leaf, now that he's an older and wiser middle-aged man, and get to know his child.
