Todays tea: Tiger Sniffs the Rose 2022

This is an aged white tea that I brewed at 185 degrees and steeps for 45 seconds adding 5 seconds for each subsequent steep.

The rinsed leaves are super floral, biscuity, and fruity.

The tea has a light earthiness but also a raspberry pie kind of sweetness and finishes with a slight and pleasant tartness. There is some minerality but I suspect that it’s the water I’m using. There is a bit of astringency in the mouthfeel but not in taste of the tea.

Went to the Vermont Tea House for Jon's mother's birthday.

Had a really nice time.

Today we have a green tea from Dryad Tea! I got a sample pack from them and have really enjoyed the teas I have tried so far! This one is a fragrant, fruity green tea with floral notes!

It resteeps well, I’ve gotten three cups so far. It’s bold and tart, and I would highly recommend it!

Trying the other bagged green I was regifted.

Again, disregarded the package instructions. I brewed at 80°C until color looked right. It immediately clouded the water, unsure why.

It’s a bit more yellow than the Yuzu… and also not as good. Oh well. Still drinkable. I’ll do at least another two brews on this and probably leave the bags for my western brew only tea friend. 😝
