wymack and kevin hcs post-canon
currently writing a 5+1 of kevin and his dad trying to talk to each other without screaming and crying (mostly on kevin's part). so here are some hcs that i cant fit into it
after Kevin goes pro and Wymack retires and moves in with Abby, there is always obviously room for their foxes, but a small, single room for Kevin. it's unspoken that that is for Wymacks son, Kevin Day. he tells everyone who comes into the house that it's his son's room but they can use it while he's gone. Kevin will always stay there and they never talk about it.
They do eventually talk about Kayleigh. Wymack helps Kevin by telling him stories about his insane girl boss mother and they have a good cry about it.
Wymack Abby and some new foxes are watching a pro game where Kevin is playing and there's a moment where Kevin stands with his hands on his hips and yells at a player and all the foxes are like omg. it's mini wymack and wymack threatens to put them through a marathon
Wymack goes to all of Kevin's games. no matter where it is or when it is, he will be there because he is a proud father first and foremost
There is always a front-row seat kevin keeps for his father
Kevin calls Wymack every week to update him on life and stuff. the new foxes realise that wymack is significantly happier after a 20-minute call in the privacy of his office once a week
Wymack walks Dan down the aisle according to EC but have you considered he does it for Kevin too. because those two are his Kids bro
Wymack loves seeing how close Kevin and Abby are because i said so
Kevin and Abby try very hard to get Wymack to stop smoking and drinking and Abby is nice and patient and Kevin is ofc a bitch about it
anytime its a holiday Kevin Andrew and Neil will always come to see him. the others will come too but those 3 will come first and leave last
when Kevin gets his hall of fame moment he dedicates it to the man who taught him how to love the game and himself aka his dad and lets just say wymack needs a moment
kevin gets more tattoos over the years and also looks more like wymack as he gets older
sometimes when kevins in town wymack lets him run foxes practice and its always fun for the kids to see them standing next to each other, father and son because it just looks so Right until Kevin yells at them to run faster or get off the court
Wymack keeps in touch with all his foxes, but Kevin later learns that he also keeps contact with Jean which makes him. so happy because finally Jean has more good influences in his life
ALSO their first father son heart to heart is after rikos funeral where wymack is like 'so. do you want to get blackout drunk' and kevin obviously agrees
Kevin starts calling wymack Dad or sometimes Father after he graduates . sometimes he refers to him as Coach in interviews or in public but everyone knows who he means
Wymack buys the first racquet for Kevin's daughter (she exists in the EC)
(also i dont like thea. sorry. so smth smth kevin adopts a little baby girl and single-dads so hard that wymack is put to shame)
wymack loves his granddaughter like crazy and spoils the shit out of her
Kevin takes a rough hit during a game and Wymack almost charges into the court to take out the punk who tried to hurt his kid
wymack often gets badgered by media trying to get comments about kevin or the other foxes post-graduating and going pro and if hes in the mood he will give them a line about how proud he is of x kid but in such a cryptic way that only that kid could know what he means
this is especially true for neil and andrew but sometimes kevin calls him the next day like 'did u have to talk about the time i did X when they asked u for a comment on my game' and wymack is like. yes. next question
Wymack and Kevin argue a lot it is their love language
but god forbid you talk shit about David Wymack in front of Kevin or in any public space because not only are you bringing down the wrath of the Foxes on you, Kevin Day is a petty bitch and will ruin your life, your career, and your will to live if you fuck with his dad
and vice versa because who the fuck do you think you are messing with david wymack's kid?
ok im done now i just have a lot of feelings

Thinking about Matt and Neil going on their own country tour together during Matt's last year spring break where Matt has a big signing bonus for his team.
Matt: "Hey Andrew, you know how you and Neil have those cute couple road trips during school breaks?" Andrew: "We're not-"
Matt: "So I'm taking him this time and we're going to have our own cute couple road trip. Bye!"
What follows is Matt and Neil's cross country trip trying out all these fancy food places because Neil's relationship with food is still weird and Matt wants Neil to enjoy nice things.

Aaron getting into medical school and leaving exy behind at Palmetto. He makes some friends, of course, and he doesn’t feel the need to mention to any of them that he’s family friends with multiple professional exy players, including the son of exy himself Kevin Day. He’s moved on from exy and while he’s proud of the Foxes he doesn’t want to be known for it while starting this new adventure.
But obviously he’s not gonna cut ties with the Foxes, so he continues to text them and call them and he’ll be included in some of their social media posts and occasionally he’ll post something with them in it. And his new classmates and friends start to catch on that he’s the Aaron Minyard, former starting backliner for the Palmetto State Foxes NCAA champions, brother of one of the best goalkeepers in the league and close friend of many other professional players.
And Aaron absolutely dreads it when they connect all the dots. Like he refuses to acknowledge that he knows them. People will ask him like “omg do you really know the Kevin Day?” or “is all that stuff about Neil Josten true?” or “are you actually Andrew Minyards twin?” and he’ll just deadpan stare at them and just go “who?” Even worse when someone tries to treat him like a celebrity or ask him about his time as a Fox and he just gives them the most disgusted stare until they eventually walk away.
Yet he’ll keep posting with them he even increases how much he posts with them because he proud of them because he thinks it’s hilarious to watch people get pissed off at him for pretending not to know who they are and then turning around and posting a picture of himself at their games or on their annual vacations.
And when Kevin signs with the team that’s located in the same city that Aaron’s in they start hanging out all the time. They’ll go out to a bar and his classmates are shocked that this kid from their anatomy class is taking shots with Kevin Day. Aaron will just ask them “who” when they confront him and immediately turn back to Kevin to continue their conversation.
Idk just something about Aaron being this random med school kid with 3 of the best professional Exy players trailing him is my favorite thing. Also him being proud of his foxes and showing it in his own asshole way

Do you understand how much kevin respects neil? And i don't mean when it comes to exy, like sure there's a whole lot of you're not good enough followed by you will make court bluh bluh bluh, i mean fundamentally as a human.
Kevin and Neil's conversation after the truth of Neil's father is revealed drives me absolutely insane because I think it highlights a lot about how Kevin views Neil.
so indulge me for a bit....
I think a lot of people forget, in light of Andrew choking Kevin for not telling him the truth, that Kevin's initial reaction was to tell Neil to run.
Tumblr media
*sorry for the quality - these are all screenshots off my phone
Kevin's instinct is to tell Neil to save himself, despite what that would mean for the team's success and for Kevin himself. This is significant to me for two reasons.
It highlights that Kevin genuinely cares about Neil outside of his exy potential. For most people, this would be a pretty obvious response to finding out your teammate has a guaranteed death sentence if they stick around, so it might not seem all that meaningful, but Kevin was raised in such an environment were you continued to play no matter what - even at the risk of death. Kevin is unflinchingly callous when it comes to exy and his teammates (*see his reaction to Seth's death), but he is frantic in his concern for Neil in contrast to his fairly passive response to basically anyone else's wellbeing outside of exy. Neil's death will have no real impact on Kevin. If Neil dies or goes to the ravens, nothing changes for Kevin. He is not at a greater risk of being hurt by Riko or the Moriyama's nor will his exy career be effected. That's not to say he would tell Neil to stay if he cared about him any less, but there is a desperation that implies a depth beyond just that of a teammate.
The fact that Kevin is frantic and desperate for Neil to leave, gives weight to his decision to keep teaching Neil in the aftermath of the revelation.
Tumblr media
Neil doesn't want to run - he wants to be Neil Josten until the end. He gave Kevin his game and now he's asking him to keep it and Kevin obliges.
Tumblr media
This is essentially Kevin promising that he will keep Neil's secret. He will allow Neil to wear his mask and continue teaching him despite the fact that Neil is essentially a dead man walking. This, to me, is Kevin ultimately respecting Neil and his choice. At any moment, Kevin has the ability to got to Wymack or Andrew and give Neil the chance at surviving, but that would mean betraying Neil.
Some people (certainly the foxes) would view refusing Neil's request as the proper and morally correct thing to do. But I think Kevin's immediate acceptance of Neil's decision is both immensely meaningful to Neil and also a signifier of a shared understanding between to two.
Imagine how impactful it must be for Neil, who has never had autonomy over his own life and has been marked for death basically since he was born, to be told that not only will his decisions and his autonomy be respected, but there is someone who will stand by his side on the court, knowing the whole truth, until the very end.
Kevin doesn't have much to offer Neil at this point. He can not give him a future - he'll be long dead before he can ever make court, and Kevin is a coward - he is not andrew, he can't stand up against the Moriyama's or Riko or Neil's father. Kevin can not protect Neil in a way that matters. All he can do is promise to keep Neil's secret and offer him a few more months of being Neil Josten.
Tumblr media
I'm not including this to disparage Andrew or to suggest that he does not respect Neil, but this highlights that Kevin knows the decision to keep Neil's secret is one only Kevin would make. Andrew without a doubt would immediately try to get Neil to leave or attempt to get him into protection. I'm not passing a judgement of morality on what would've been the right thing to do, but I do think Kevin's reaction is indicative of the fact that Neil and Kevin understand each other in a way that no one else really will.
Neil and Kevin are a parallel's in a number of ways. Kevin lived the life that Neil was supposed to have and they are two parts of one story.
To them exy is not a game, but it's not really about exy either. It's about deciding to stay just to play for a couple more months even though you'll wind up dead because playing means you finally get to live after years of being a ghost. It's about playing to be the best no matter what, even though the consequences are having your hand smashed and the life you know completely demolished. It's about playing even though you're shaking with fear and anxiety because you need proof that your life, whether it be running to survive or living under an abusive hand, was not a waste.
Kevin agrees to keep Neil's secret because if the roles were reversed, Kevin would like to believe that he'd be strong enough to ask Neil for the same thing. This is obviously conjecture and a heavy heavy reading between the lines, but I'd like to think there's some truth there.
Tumblr media
Finishing up with this line because it makes me a little emotional.
Kevin starts the conversation by calling Neil "Nathaniel" and ends it by calling him Neil again. Its right there in the text, "it was a promise". Kevin is offering Neil a life that is fully his - not his father's, not Riko's, but Neil's to do with what he would like, even if its only for a couple more months. If that's not respect, than I don't know what is.

The King's Men - Chapter Seventeen (19)
Day: Friday, April 26th / 27th* Time: 10:04 PM EST
Neil wishes he could smile, but it takes all his strength just to look at Riko. The Raven captain and Exy King is staring at the scoreboard like he expects it to change. The Foxes are running for each other, still screaming their fool heads off, but the Ravens stand still as stone. It is the first loss in Edgar Allan's history, and they'd fallen to the unlikeliest of opponents. Neil sucks in a deep breath that rips him open on its way down. "I'd ask you how it feels, but I guess you've always known what it's like to be second, you worthless piece of shit." Riko finally drags his gaze away from the board. He stares at Neil, blank-faced and stunned, and then revulsion twists his expression into something terrible. His racquet goes up over his head but it takes Neil a moment to realize Riko really intends to take a swing at him. Dan screams his name from halfway across the court, but there is nothing Neil can do except watch Riko's racquet start down. He barely has the strength to breathe. Dodging is out of the question. Riko's racquet gets close enough that Neil hears wind whistling through the strings, and then a second racquet comes out of nowhere, big and bright and orange. Andrew puts everything he has left behind his swing and catches Riko across his forearm. Bones give a sickening crunch as they shatter. Riko's racquet clatters harmlessly off to one side, and then Riko is the only one screaming. He stumbles a few steps away from them before falling to his knees and holding his arm to his gut. Andrew puts his racquet down in front of Neil like a shield and watches Riko's breakdown with a bored stare.
Art used with permission by Rosiethorns88. Thank you so much @rosiethorns88!
*Due to the Leap Year, I have opted to highlight the day rather than the date to keep the events in occurrence to the 2007 year. I will continue to mark both days accordingly.

aftg show bloopers like
the scene where Neil throws the glass at Aaron (it's not glass glass, it's that softish, breakable material used in filmmaking that looks like glass) and Aaron's actor ducks too late so it hits him straight in the face. nobody moves for a second (they're still rolling) until Neil's actor moves toward him going "oh my god I'm so sorry" and everyone starts laughing and Aaron's actor is like I'm fine dw
Allison's actress tripping in her heels during what's supposed to be a badass entrance and she drags herself out to redo the take, cursing the shoes
so many bits of the cast just pretending to club each other over the head with their racquets
Coach's actor accidentally switches up a whole bunch of words while shooting one of his inspirational speeches. but he just keeps talking as though he didn't just passionately tell the kids to "get out on that floor and- court- show them how real a Fox floors- plays...after tonight they will- they will not ever discriminate- underestimate you again" and you can hear the Foxes' actors quietly break character one by one in the background
Andrew's actor pulling out a knife to threaten someone but then dropping it and jumping back from it
just. the monsters all piled in the car for a scene and they're all in the zone, waiting for "Action" to be called when something happens and they all crack up in sync
Andrew and Neil's actors on an actual roof, trying to shoot an Andreil Moment but an airplane flies over and they have to wait for it to pass because audio. so in the blooper these two guys are just standing very close to each other, Andrew's hand fisted in Neil's hoodie, staring up at the airplane urging it to get out of the way
in one scene Dan's actress kisses Matt on the cheek as a goodbye before she leaves the room, and right after she does Neil's actor jumps up to kiss his cheek too
they're shooting a night practice scene and Kevin's actor keeps missing the mark and it's just a bunch of two second clips of him on set of the court, groaning and swearing and oof-ing. after he misses the action for like the tenth time he just turns to make direct eye contact with the camera, his face comically blank
(in the background you can hear Neil's actor go "thank goodness for editing and all that magic, eh?")
Andrew's actor forgets his line during the scene where the Foxes meet the Ravens at the banquet. he gets to the "Jean. Jean Valjean" line and then completely blanks, going "Jean Valjean. hello Jean Valjean. I'm supposed to say something to you now Jean Valjean. i do not remember what"
the actors for Aaron, Kevin, Andrew and Nicky all being crammed onto that couch in the lounge the way the monsters actually do and falling asleep on each other in between takes
Neil's actor is British who speaks in an American accent but one time accidentally lets the accent slip during a scene where he uses the phrase "strongest goalkeeper". he cuts himself off and it's silent for a beat and then he softly repeats "goalkeeper" to himself in an exaggeratedly British accent and cracks everyone up. Kevin's actor, who himself naturally has an Irish accent, goes "this is South Carolina, love"
it's a night shoot and it's cold and Aaron's actor steals Andrew's actor's (his brother) scarf going "how come you get a scarf and i don't. Aaron is getting the scarf for this scene"
Kevin and Neil's actors doing a scene where they get all up in each other's faces. and then start leaning in too much and make as though they're going to start kissing
just a solid two minutes of Neil and Andrew's actors fighting bugs away from their faces throughout various rooftop scenes
Nicky's actor being the mf king of improvised one-liners (in true Nicky fashion) and just constantly causing EVERYONE to break cause his quips are so random
not really a blooper but they're behind the camera, waiting for something to be set up, and Renee's actress has an acoustic guitar and she and some of the others make up really bad jingles for all the characters
Dan's actress is most likely to fumble her lines or trip over her tongue and she always does like a weird dance to shake herself out
Aaron's actor looking straight into the camera with a shiner blooming over half his face due to a badly executed "fight" scene: let it be known. here on the set of All for the Game, i do my own stunts
(his brother in the background: you DORK. Aaron's actor: shut up or I'm telling Mom you punched me in the face)
Kevin's actor doing a scene (perhaps that one on the bus in tfc) where he's downing alcohol and he's expecting the director to call cut at a certain point or tell him when he can stop drinking but that doesn't happen so he just kind of confusedly chugs the whole bottle and then the director goes "you didn't need to do all that but we got it thanks" and Kevin's like ?? but Neil's actor, who's in the scene, is stood there with his eyebrows raised, very impressed, going "oh my god that was amazing"
Dan's actress slipping on a line and then banging her head against the chest of Matt's actor in frustration and he just rubs her back, grinning
not a blooper but Neil's actor recites the Riko roast flawlessly and as soon as they call "Cut" on it he gets a little sitting ovation from everyone. even Riko's actor is like yeah okay shutting the fuck up and leaving you alone now
Neil's actor actually struggling to get the seal off the ice cream container in that one scene. he fake-struggles with it for a few moments and then starts actually struggling and looks over to the production people and goes "the bloody thing is actually not coming off"
so many bloopers of various cast members having too much fun hitting others upside the head like they do in the books
Andrew's actor accidentally spilling the tray of drinks at Eden's
Allison's actress being the one who can make others break character without getting caught herself
Matt's actor being the one who makes everyone, including himself, break character but doesn't get in trouble because literally everyone is cracking up
however. when they get into Moods, especially during night shoots, and they have scenes together, Matt and Neil's actors are IMPOSSIBLE. to work together. they just cannot control themselves. everyone hates them
see also: Kevin and Matt's actors. Nicky and Allison's. terrible pairings for long days.
there's a scene with coach and the monsters and after like the fifth time they restart coach turns to look at the camera and pours himself a drink using the prop alcohol while going "parenting....is tough"
anyway. call this an au of an au

angsty thoughts about aftg I’ll probably never write about:
aaron going through withdrawals when andrew forced him to sober up; crying, begging and threatening andrew in one breath and andrew sitting on the other side of the door and wondering if that’s what family is - promises made and broken, bitter words and heartache (bonus angst points: aaron being terrified of the perspective of losing drugs since they were the thing that linked him and tilda together. and now tilda is gone and the drugs will be gone too and what will that leave of aaron? what is aaron if not what his mother shaped him to be?)
neil being sexually assaulted at the nest and blocking it out of memory. years later he starts getting dreams that feel just a bit too real thus dissociation and derealisation, neil feeling like he’s not a real person since he can’t even remember what happened to him and what didn’t. eventually he calls jean and asks him to say what exactly happened to neil at the nest. guilty jean explaining in detail what was done to neil (he thought neil knew). neil struggling with telling this to andrew and then struggling with intimacy, feeling like all progress he did was suddenly erased
aaron having kids (twins) and andrew having many feelings about it. wondering if twins are the only hereditary thing with them or if abandonment, violence and abuse is also twisted in the minyard dna
also, andrew being extremely uneasy around children. whenever he has to take care of one he can’t help but focus on how small they are, how easy it would be to hurt them, how easy would it be to manipulate them. and then he feels nauseous and disgusted bc he feels those thoughts are abnormal and it’s not like he actually wants to do any of those things, but he can’t get it out of his head. it’s like his brain remembers the abuse he fell victim to and transforms it into a step by step plan on how to recreate it
neil always leaving things exactly how he found them, to the point that the foxes can never see any trace of him even in the dorms. he does it absolutely unconsciously, but andrew always sees it and it takes a very long time for this habit to die. even when andreil have their own house neil keeps doing it - putting shoes away in the exact same way they were when he took them, closing the window and making sure the handle is at the exact degree that it was before it was opened etc

One of the things that pisses me off so much about AFTG relationships is whatever the fuck Nora decided to do with Kevin and Thea. For one, let’s start with the big elephant in the room shall we: Kevin was fourteen and Thea was eighteen when they met each other. Kevin was literally a child and Thea was not. When they slept together for the first time Kevin is - presumably - eighteen (Nora only said it was his first year at EAU) and Thea was twenty two/three and it was in front of everyone. We know the Raven’s mindset is fucked up at best but seriously… in front of the entire team? They never talked about themselves in a normal-relationship way when they were at Evermore. According to Nora, “Thea’s last words to Kevin–until she showed up at Fox Tower in TKM–were to get some more practice in with the girls so he’d be ready for her when he graduated.” Be for real… this isn’t normal. But let’s pretend we can put all of this under the “they are Ravens and Ravens knows no boundaries and never had any normal human interaction in their lives” belt.
Let’s do a time skip. Riko breaks Kevin’s hand and Kevin leaves EAU. He spends a year at PSU not playing and not once he reached Thea. Understandable because he was still afraid. Then he starts playing again, still doesn’t reach her. She found out about all of this - broken hand, leaving the Ravens, playing again - through the media. Then, she shows up at PSU out of nowhere and almost doesn’t give a chance for Kevin to explain himself. Except Kevin explain - at best he can, considering he couldn’t put her in danger at the moment - but still she saw how Jean was and she knew what Riko was capable off, right? WRONG. Because Nora goes on to say the worst thing possible about their future:
Tumblr media
Be fucking for real. You telling me you saw your teammate an inch from death, saw that the supposed love of your life had his career almost destroyed - and Thea and Kevin got married, so she is aware of the amount of trauma Kevin carry from being raised with Riko at EAU - and still the hate edges off because “after all, Kevin’s playing again, so no harm no foul, right?” ???? Are we seeing this? As a fandom, are we collectively seeing this?
“But Kevin needs someone who can keep up with him and with his obsession with Exy”. Ok, but I’m pretty sure there are other women besides Thea playing Exy that would be able to keep up with Kevin and still have an ounce of sensitivity in their bodies.
Now my only logical explanation to this, which is where I always go back to is that Thea and Kevin weren’t supposed to happen if Nora had planned AFTG like a normal writer should. We know she wrote a thousand versions of AFTG - even versions where Kevin dies or where Kevin/Andrew/Neil were together - before publishing as a book and we know she had so many versions inside her head she made the books a fucking mess but there is no way someone didn’t warned her about this absolutely fuckery of a relationship. I can’t believe we as a fandom bought into this and still reinforce it as a hc.
Also, do we really think Thea helped Kevin navigate his trauma after TKM? During their lives? This is so incredibly unfair because Kevin deserved someone who could help him heal himself and understand life outside of Exy but no, Nora really had to give us/him this mess.
I needed to vent a little, anyway…

are u an Aaron Stan? If so, would u mind sharing ur Aaron hcs?
I don’t have many but what I do have is:
- Once Aaron actually starts trying in his sessions with Betsy, a few months or maybe a year in, he says something that really shakes Andrew to his core. Maybe something about how it made him feel to walk into that room in Nicky’s house and see what he saw, how for just a moment it felt like he was looking at it happening to himself. They talk about that one right up until the end of the session, but when they get back to the dorms, it doesn’t feel right to split off and go their separate ways and pretend like nothing was said. I like to think at one point, maybe then, Andrew takes him up to the roof and listens to him talk. And Aaron does, because he’s kept it inside for so long, not even talking to Katelyn about it, because it didn’t feel like his business to share. It felt like something he couldn’t say because it did happen to Andrew, not him, and it feels selfish to say there was that tiny part of him that can’t get over seeing it because of how identical they look. Andrew gets it, because the twin thing alongside the drake thing is a touchy subject. Maybe Andrew shares a little bit back, and that’s when they actually talk to each other for the first time about ~stuff~ outside of their sessions with Betsy.
- He also cries when he hears Andrew talk about his past with Drake on the stand at his trial. Andrew doesn’t look at him, not even once, but it absolutely destroys Aaron to hear what he went through. Andrew is outside having a cigarette by the time he’s leaving, and Andrew accepts the comforting hand that squeezes his shoulder, because as much as Aaron feels like he should hug him, that’s the best he can offer.
- I’ve shared it before, but Aaron loves German music. He’s into techno music/house music, and loves a good rave.
- Aaron is a normal or angry drunk on most alcohols/spirits, but on wine he’s a bubbling baby. Two glasses of white wine and he’s crying. He doesn’t drink wine.
- Once he gets qualified and graduates med school, most of the foxes text him about their medical questions. Andrew would just text him a picture of a cut that could be infected, or a digit that could be broken, and he’ll just respond “go to the ER” or “get a cream, ur good”. He’s passionate about his job, and secretly loves that his friends and family trust him enough with their medical problems to ask him for advice. Unless it’s Nicky, because he’s a hypochondriac, so he’ll happily tell him that a simple bruise on his foot that will that will heal in a week will need to be amputated. It’s like preparation for being a Dad and having to say the same thing to his kids.
- It wasn’t a hard decision to make, but when he gets married, it’s really really difficult for him to call Andrew and asks him to be his Best Man. Katelyn is on his ass for MONTHS to just say it to Andrew, but every time he tries to pick up the phone and ask, he thinks of an excuse not to. They’re together for Christmas or Thanksgiving a couple of months before the wedding, and when Neil and Katelyn are tidying away dishes, he asks Andrew out onto the porch for a cigarette. Andrew doesn’t say much, and winds him up about it because he can tell how anxious he is to ask, but he agrees of course. It’s a huge weight off Aaron’s shoulders, but Andrew just calls him stupid when Aaron tells him he was afraid he would say no.
- He has half of a fake tooth because one got chipped during an Exy match. He is really self conscious about it even though it’s barely noticeable at all. It’s the one regret he has about having played Exy in college.
- someone made a post recently about him being allergic to some type of fruit and honestly. He seems like the type to be allergic to kiwis.
- He’s a paediatric doctor once he gets certified. He’s really good with kids, and keeps stickers in his lab coat.
- He shaves his head at one point after Andrew goes pro, mostly because people keep coming up to him on the street and asking for pictures, thinking he’s Andrew.
- He goes to the Olympics the first time Andrew plays, and he can’t help but feel hugely proud watching his brother play. It’s the time that it really sinks in for him how much his life has changed since they first met, and how much purpose Neil has given him.

concept: exy all star matches with all the former foxes/trojans playing scrimmages that are broadcast live when they’re all on separate pro teams and they have to fly in for it and it’s like a mini reunion and it’s the most watched exy event in history
matt and dan come down for it too, and there are shots of matt putting little league gear on his kids and dan’s playing (matt isn’t) and the kids have painted banners for her
kevin, andrew and neil are only allowed on the same team for one match. it’s the biggest shutdown anyone’s ever seen. then neil switches teams to play with jean and jeremy and it becomes a shit fest
the matches with kevin against jean are serious and exciting and high paced and intense. with neil against jean it’s neil doing dramatic fakes and jean almost getting carded for fake-swiping neil’s legs from under him and they keep shouting at each other in french and kevin’s on the bench crying into his hands
neil, jumping from left to right, making faces and using his entire ten steps to wiggle around and tease jean: oh, which way am i going to go? left? no, right? oop- gotcha!
jean, in french: you fucking little shit I’m going to finish what riko started
kevin actually collapses with laughter to the point the nurse is brought on to court to see if he’s okay. riko jokes are actually like ultimate healing for him
neil: meh fair play
before an INSANE shot at the goal that wins the game

If it weren’t for the fact that he and Riko had stumbled across a truly traumatizing video of his birth that they had watched secretly in Tetsuji’s office when he was away on a business trip one weekend Kevin would believe that he was born with an Exy racquet in his hand. But the image that is seared into his retinas to this day has proven that he came into this world empty handed.
That doesn’t change the fact that Kevin has spent the majority of his life utterly and completely submersed in Exy. He was trained as a Raven, he was court, he was a champion as both a Raven as a Fox and if he had his way he’d leave college with more Championships under the orange and white than the black and red.
Exy was everything in the world to him.
He could overlook many personality defects if someone brought something to the Court.
Apathetic five foot nothing who was more likely to stab him than shake his hand? Well, he’s the best goalie that Kevin had ever seen in his entire life (and that was saying something).
Tight ass who has anger management issues and will not shut the fuck up about his girlfriend now that he’s not even allowed to have? Well, he is a very solid backliner who has excellent ball handling skills (even if Aaron keeps telling him to stop saying it like that or why he keeps yelling that he’s straight).
Overly touchy, too emotional, will not shut the fuck up about his fiancé in Germany? Well, he is a very solid backliner who is great at rebounds (Kevin doesn’t get why Nicky gets mad when he says that or why he brings up Erik).
Guy who actively dislikes him and is dying for any chance to punch him and also being overly attached to his friends? He’s a great enforcer on the court and had the stamina to play far longer than the other two backliners (Why Dan always said “yeah he does” whenever Kevin commented on Matt’s stamina he will never understand, and he also doesn’t want to.)
Suspicious kid from Millport with a mouth that could strip paint and a past so shrouded in mystery that it even had Andrew perking up in interest? Well, he’s the fastest Striker in the game and the only person that has ever kept up with Kevin’s obsession with the sport. (There was the minor downside that he was the son of the Butcher and almost died before the championships, but Neil pulled through.)
He tolerated all of them and now they’re his best friends.
There are some who he does find personally objectionable but so long as Jack and Sheena manage to continue to be good on the court he doesn’t care about the many many faults in their personalities. They’re his teammates, they aren’t his friends.
He accepted that he might not like any of the others that came onto the team. For the most part he had never given a shit about before the Foxes, content with his brotherhood with Riko even if it wasn’t…perfect. Then he became friends with FF and FF had done him a truly large favor and Kevin wanted to pay that back the best way he knew how. Through his truly infallible health advice and through perfectly crafted smoothies.
Then Daniel appeared with the truth that FF truly met all requirements to be a Fox and Kevin tasted his own smoothie for the first time.
He considered both revelations to be equally upsetting.
Still…
FF was one of the best dealers Kevin had ever had the pleasure to be on Court with. The man knew his position well and interrupted offensives with an enviable ease that made Kevin wish to possibly strap some sort of device onto him and figure out how he did certain things.
It wasn’t that far off to believe that a man raised in the same environment as FF could possibly have similar talents and since Lisa fucked off back to some small town cult they really did need a good sub. Sheena was a good offensive dealer but they had games coming up where defense would be imperative and FF did not have the stamina for a full game and likely would not for quite some time considering he’d be recovering from being stabbed.
So, he’d defended Daniel’s right to try out.
At first, he had felt vindicated. Daniel kept up quite well during the initial warm-ups. Kept pace with Jack, Sheena, Aaron, Andrew, and Nicky. Kevin had been bringing up the rear mostly to make sure that Andrew didn’t stab the guy during warm-ups.
Then it was time for the first precision drill.
The other thing about how Kevin was raised is that he was raised surrounded only by the best of the best. The Ravens were at the top of the Collegiate hierarchy. The National Court used their stadium for practice.
The worst Exy that Kevin had ever seen in his entire life up until the moment that Daniel took hold of an Exy racquet was still only the worst team in Collegiate Division 1 Exy.
Then Kevin watched the ball go so wide that the entire court went silent.
All of the drills that followed were as bad, if not worse.
Kevin felt himself start to vibrate with anger the longer it went on. He started to shout corrections at Daniel but the younger man merely rolled his eyes, “I think I know what I’m doing.” He would say before pointedly proving that he did not.
Kevin only realized nearly an hour in that he had wasted his entire practice shouting himself hoarse at the actual waste of human life that was Daniel Stanton.
Kevin could accept being bad at Exy and having an inoffensive personality. Kevin could accept being good at Exy and having a bad personality.
Kevin could not accept being bad at Exy and having a bad personality.
Coach Wymack called the practice to an end and Kevin thought that he’d manage to keep his anger mostly inside (he is ignoring the near hour of practice he spent screaming directions) when Daniel decided to deliver the Coup de Grace.
Sweat soaking his bangs, panting, and without a single thing done correctly (even the way he was currently holding his borrowed Exy racquet set Kevin’s teeth on edge) the man had the gall, the gumption, and the absolute AUDACITY to come up to the coach.
“So, where do I sign?” he asks.
Kevin sees red and unleashes hell.
***
This was the most fun Andrew has had at a practice since he started having to come to them.
The look of embarrassment on Daniel’s face as Kevin accurately tore into everything he did wrong on the Court and every personal failing that Kevin could home in on. His attention shifted away to FF sitting in the stands near the University official who was shaking her head at the obvious poor showing. The University may have wanted Daniel around to spruce up the Fox’s marketability but even they couldn’t let someone so obviously awful onto one of their few Division 1 teams.
FF was sat sipping one of Kevin’s god awful smoothies looking completely unshocked by Daniel’s showing.
Kevin turned his attention to FF, “You said he was good!” Kevin points at the freshman as he continues to sip the drink.
Andrew interrupts, “He never said he was good.” He remembers the conversation so exactly and there are few things he loves more than having the opportunity to rub it in Kevin’s face when the man is wrong, “He said ‘Daniel has always been athletic’ never anything about him being good.” Andrew reminds.
Kevin whips back around to Daniel, “Have you ever even played Exy?” Kevin demands.
“I didn’t think it’d be hard to pick up.” Daniel argues crossing his arms defensively.
It sets Kevin off on another furious rant.
Andrew had thought that FF didn’t have a mean bone in his body and he’s quite pleased to have been proven wrong. The thought that FF had let Daniel get all the way into embarrassing himself in such a way?
Andrew had to give him props.
“How does it feel getting to watch this idiot crash and burn?” he asks coming to the glass.
“Really thought he could manage it if I could.” FF says with a shrug that has Aaron bark out a laugh.
“You really figured?” Aaron asks coming to stand next to Andrew.
FF just shrugs again, “I mean I also started not knowing how to play and now I’m on a pretty good team.” He says as if FF starting as a child not knowing how to play is the same as someone walking in demanding a spot on a college team.
Nicky lets out a laugh.
“Oh, Smithy I could kiss you.” Nicky laughs and makes his way towards the Court entrance to likely do exactly that moving past a Daniel who was so red in the face with embarrassment and anger that he looked as if he was about to turn purple.
Andrew tuned in.
“…small pond. The only reason you ever felt like you were worth anything is that Smiths was too nice to put you in your place before now!” Kevin was probably talking about medium-sized fish in a small pond but Andrew didn’t really care to know.
“Are you going to let him talk to me like this?!” Daniel finally turned to Wymack.
“Kevin, you shouldn’t talk to the public like that.” Wymack says without a hint of chastisement in his voice.
Kevin still straightened at the reminder, “You’re right. Sorry coach.” Kevin sneered at Daniel, “Get off the court before you taint it.” He hisses.
“You’re really not going to sign me?!” Daniel demands.
“Why would I?” Wymack asks with a raised brow.
“You took a chance on John!” Daniel points towards FF.
Andrew watches as Wymack’s face does something he’d rarely seen it do, it goes utterly and completely cold. “I don’t take chances with my kids.” He spat, “I give my kids a second chance. Get the hell off of my court.” He hisses.
Daniel’s face purples further before he stomped off of the Court.
“Don’t you dare walk off with that racquet! It’s worth more than you!” Kevin shouts after him and Andrew in that moment realizes that Daniel is going to do something stupid.
And FF is on the other side of the Plexiglass with only Nicky at his side.
It’s like watching a train crash.
Daniel might say something, but Andrew doesn’t know. He sees Neil rushing as well, his sense of danger always well-honed but Neil had been in Captain mode in the moments before walking some of the sophomore and freshmen through what they had done wrong.
Neither of them will make it in time.
Daniel throws his racquet, and he throws it right at FF barely 5 feet away in the stands.
The Racquet blows past FF’s head and Andrew lets out a breath.
Then before it could crash into the seats behind him and break FF’s hand wrapped around the shaft of the stick and stopped it’s trajectory.
“Your aim really isn’t getting any better by not listening to Kevin’s advice.” Smith says as he twirls the racquet in his hand so that the net was on the ground. “Also, don’t break the equipment, like Kevin said it’s pretty expensive.” He says.
Daniel let out a primal scream but where Andrew had stalled out to watch the miraculous catch Matt Boyd had not. Daniel was tackled to the ground by the backliner, “Absolutely not.” Matt said with a scowl.
“Smithy are you okay?” Andrew hears Nicky ask.
“Yeah, why?” FF asks as if he hadn’t just been attacked but considering everything that Andrew had seen it wouldn’t shock him if Daniel’s attacks were just par for the course back home for FF. “The racquet looks okay too.” He adds.
“Coach Wymack,” The University representative made their way down looking flustered at the outburst of violence.
Obviously not someone who regularly watched Exy or paid attention to their team.
“This is why I wanted absolute control over who does and who doesn’t get a shot here.” Wymack hisses pointing at Daniel as he struggled under Matt.
“You have our sincere apologies for this.” She says looking at Daniel, “He didn’t… we thought he’d be good for the team’s culture but it seems like we may have misjudged-“
“That guy just tried to take Smithy out!” Nicky interrupts.
“I told you he was dangerous.” Neil adds.
“Can someone call campus security?” Matt asks from the ground, “This jackass keeps aiming for kidney punches and I would like to not be pissing blood during winter break.” Matt requests.
“O-of course!” the University representative says fumbling for her cell phone.
Andrew looked at Matt and figured that the backliner had a handle on that particular mess at the moment.
He made his way over to FF and Nicky who was checking over the freshman.
“Nice catch.” He says.
FF shrugs, “It’s my racquet he was borrowing.” He says, “I didn’t want to get a new one.” He adds.
***
FF watches as campus security took custody of Daniel as he continued to spit and scream. There are talks about pressing charges, but FF just wants Daniel off of the campus and away from him. It’s Jack of all people who says that getting a restraining order is a great way to make sure Daniel stays the hell away from him and FF nods consideringly.
Honestly, he’s still mostly in shock he managed to catch his racquet the way he had. His reflexes weren’t quite up to snuff since he’d been trying to catch the netting, but his hand only closed around the shaft.
Embarrassing.
He really hopes no one teases him about his slower reflexes.
“He needs to be charged for assault at least.” Kevin hisses as they watch the security officers take Daniel away.
“It’d be attempted assault.” Aaron corrects.
“He assaulted my eyes with his Exy.” Kevin insists.
“If that counted as assault, don’t you think I would have pressed charges for all the times I have had to see you dance at Eden’s?” Neil asks. “Also, you’re the one that insisted he try-out.” He reminds.
“Smiths told me he was good!” Kevin screeches.
“No, we’ve been over this Day. Smithy said he was athletic.” Nicky reminds. “Are you going to do what Jack suggested?” he asks turning to FF.
“I’d like to see significantly less of Daniel.” FF admits.
“You know he did actually commit assault, if I pee blood I’m making Kevin go buy me pads.” Matt says.
“Whatever.” Kevin says as they continued to make their way back to the dorm to get ready for the day.

what do u like about allison? not attacking u or anything she's just always fell flat to me and im open to enlightenment
shes funny to me :) i like that she's catty and entitled and insufferable, but that there are moments where it slips (namely grieving seth, but also offering herself up to be a confidante to neil, crumpling into renee after andrew hurts her) and we get to see that she's terrified of herself And others and that money could not buy her a sense of self nor a reasonable emotional framework. there are also small things about her that i just find endearing, like the few times where her and matt act like siblings (when the foxes get rained on and matt takes a picture of her looking soaked, much to her horror, and when jeremy shows the foxes his game plan for the semi finals and allison tugs incessantly at matts sleeve to let her see it) and her horrible betting problem, the way she knew neil caused seth's death but also knew she couldn't live her whole life with that grudge, her gossip habits, the way she desperately wants to fix everything with money (taking the foxes out to the cabins after neil got kidnapped always seemed like such an obvious attempt to soothe the team to me, but allison was not raised on affection and the only way she can conceive it is through what she can offer them in monetary terms + i'm reminded of the bit in the ec that allison keeps a trustfund for the foxes' children and that she pays for renee's child's medical bills) etc!
i do mean it when i say that allison and kevin are not all that different, and they have a very similar understanding (or lack thereof) of the way relationships work, but allison can be such a steorotype sometimes it's hard to allow ourselves to see her as anything but a tall hot glass of skank, whereas we naturally give kevin more nuance and space for humanity because we are taught to believe men are more capable of complexity than women. one of my favorite allison is kevin in a wig moments is the fact that allison's goal with seth ('to make a real man out of him', to give him something to live for, to make him want to achieve it) is exactly the same as kevin's goal with andrew

Forehead touch nation, come get your fic!
Under the cut, 1,400 words of Andreil, who I have apparently not written in over a year. Nonetheless, I actually like how this turned out, so, enjoy!
--
As usual, Neil was the last to leave the locker room after practice, shaking his wet hair out. It had grown a little longer than he usually kept it, but being captain kept him busy, and he wasn't known for keeping up with his appearance at the best of times.
The lounge was empty when he emerged, besides one other figure lounging across the couch, who glanced over at the sound of Neil's footsteps.
"Always the last one out," Andrew droned, sitting up at his approach. "Perhaps an issue of object permanence? The stadium does not disappear once you leave."
Neil grinned slightly and stopped a few steps in front of him. "If object permanence was my problem, then I don't think a long distance relationship would have worked as well for us as it has."
Andrew stood then, bringing a hand to a lock of hair hanging in front of Neil's face. He wound it around his finger. "Then a memory issue. Six months to forget scissors exist." He tugged the lock gently before pulling his hand away.
"Not long enough to forget that you like it that way."
Andrew did not choose to confirm that, instead hooking his fingers around two of Neil's to lead them out of the locker room. Neil locked up quickly before letting Andrew lead him to his car.
Christmas break was upon him, Neil's last before graduation, and he and Andrew were headed to Andrew's apartment in Chicago in the morning. But Neil needed to finish some things up before the break, so their first night of the next two weeks together was spent alone in his dorm, the same dorm they had shared until June.
They had done this exact journey hundreds of times before, every night practice, every half asleep stumble back to the dorms, back to the room and bed that was theirs, existing in a space where the world suspended for them, for once yielding to the gravitational pull between them.
Of course, the past six months since Andrew's graduation had taken the night from them, leaving the roof and the car and all of the places that had grown roots in Neil upended.
But he had it back for tonight, and had Andrew for the next two weeks, flesh and blood and here instead of a voice craggy on the other end of a phone call.
He peeled himself away from the window when they pulled up to Fox Tower, abandoned for break except for the two of them and maybe a dozen other athletes still there. Andrew tapped his wrist twice with his fingers as Neil looked up at the few lights still on, blending with the stars.
"Still here?" he asked.
Neil nodded, not yet free enough from the spell of the car ride to conjure an answer. Luckily, Andrew wouldn't expect one to such a mundane question.
Once they entered his room, Neil threw his things down before climbing easily into the loft. It was as easy as breathing still to leave space by the wall for Andrew to climb in.
"Not too much?" he asked, aware that Andrew might need to adjust to touch after half a year living alone.
"Not too much," he said, pulling Neil's hand closer, inspecting each scar and line and divot on it.
"I don't think my hand has changed," Neil commented with a small smile.
Andrew didn't answer, but it didn't require one, and Neil liked that he knew Andrew had every speck memorized, that this inventory was against a catalog of Neil that he couldn't forget if he tried.
"You'll understand if I wanted to check for myself," Andrew said cooly at last, settling with their hands together.
Neil laid with his chin propped in his free hand. "There haven't been any life threatening incidents since freshman year."
Andrew huffed. "One might say your luck is running down."
"One might also say you've been worried about me."
The words hovered in the air between them. It wasn't that Neil expected Andrew to answer- at least not right away. But he couldn't help but give the game away a little. Had Andrew missed him?
"Kevin says you're going to Denver next year."
Neil snorted. "Kevin knows I haven't accepted."
"Yet," Andrew finished for him.
"Yet."
Andrew busied himself by stroking the knuckle of Neil's hand with his thumb. "If you're waiting for a call from Chicago, we're not recruiting for a striker right now."
Neil swallowed. "That's what Coach said. But maybe something closer-"
"Do not make your life choices based on proximity to me."
Anger flared bright and hot in Neil's chest. "I'm making decisions based on what I want and what's important to me. Your self-deprecation isn't a reason to take my choice away."
When Andrew remained quiet, Neil's anger deflated somewhat into the embarrassment and hurt it stemmed from. "Do you not want me there?"
Andrew's eyes snapped up to his. He took Neil's fingers and pressed two of them to his neck, where his pulse jackrabbited against them. All at once it was an airport, a rooftop and a thousand moments since.
"You're afraid," he said simply.
"Exy is the most important part of your life. It has to be because it is your life. If Denver is the best team, that's where you have to go."
Neil moved his fingers back, hovering by Andrew's head. "Yes or no?" It was usually Andrew’s thing, but Neil had to be sure.
"Yes," Andrew said, eyes closing when Neil's hand guided his head to meet their foreheads together.
"I want you. I want this. And don't tell me there is no this when that lie ran out years ago. I told you I was done running away. I'm running towards you. And maybe I'm in Denver and maybe I'm in Chicago, but it's still you. I just need to know that it's me back for you."
Andrew brushed their cheeks together, the barest touch that lit Neil's bones up from inside. "Don't ask things you know the answer to."
"Do I know the answer?"
Andrew brought Neil's fingers down to his wrists, a reminder of the price he'd paid the last time he'd wanted to keep something.
"Andrew, I'm not going anywhere," Neil whispered into his hair. "What more do I have to do?"
Andrew hummed, the reverberation spreading through Neil's face. His lips moved to ghost over his temple. "I want you. Saying it does not change things."
"Humor me?" Neil said. "If it could, what would you want? I told you what I wanted. You and Exy. Is it so strange to want them at the same time again? I said once to borrow from me until you found something. Have you?"
"This."
Neil scrunched his face. "Us fighting in a dorm bed?"
"You. Safe where I can see you. A stretch of road tomorrow." He paused. "A night where I know where you'll be the next morning."
Neil smiled. "It seems both of our expectations are rock bottom."
"I'd say that four years ago my expectations were in hell. It is not my fault they have farther to rise than most."
Neil huffed a laugh. "Tomorrow morning, I'll be here. And the next two weeks. And next year, I'll be with you. You just have to let me."
"I've been letting you get away with things for five years," Andrew relented at last. "One day I'll fix that."
"I'll believe it when I see it," Neil answered. After a moment, he said. "I'll consider Denver. But plane tickets aren't too bad. I can be with you every night one of us isn’t playing. I'm not saying it will be perfect. But it's ours and I want to fight for it."
Andrew pulled him closer by his t-shirt and Neil could feel the world between them, everything of the past five years mingling together in the tiny space where Andrew hadn’t closed the gap.
“Yes or no?”
“Andrew, you already know-”
“Humor me,” he echoed Neil.
“Yes. Always, come on.”
Andrew pulled him closer and his kiss was fierce and quiet, a solid weight that anchored Neil to the moment they’re in.
For once, he had time. The future lay stretched before them, like the open road that awaited them tomorrow. Andrew was here, now. And neither of them were going anywhere.

Note
We can have Andrew and Ashley (separately) dating reader who is a singer/guitarist in a Punk rock band, who has a somewhat cynical, indifferent personality but is quite kind when you get to know her.
But there is a problem, she is possessed by a demon and needs to kill or drink human blood to survive (just like that movie Jennifer Body feat. Megan Fox)
Possession from Within
Pairing(s): Andrew Graves x Reader, Ashley Graves x Reader
Note: I didn’t exactly know where to go with this, but I hope this is what you wanted. I also didn’t go into as much detail or story with Ashley’s part, and I decided to take a different route with her. Sorry if this isn't what you meant. NOT PROOFREAD
Tumblr media
Andrew
If the saying one person fell first but the other fell harder is true, then that would definitely apply to Andrew Graves.
He first saw you when he escaped the apartment with his sister Ashley. You were playing down the street with the rest of your band.
As you seemingly looked through the crowd on stage, your eyes met his. You could call it love at first sight, for him at least.
While Ashley was dozing off on the bus, he snuck his way out to see you again. You were backstage, along with the rest of the band, just finished with your performance when you saw him.
He introduced himself and complimented your performance. He then asked if you would like to go out to a cafe together before you headed home. You looked at him up and down, almost in a judging way, but nonetheless you agreed.
That was about a month ago, now you and Andrew were a couple. At first you came off as a very cynical person, but as days passed he got to see you under a new light. He fell first, you fell harder.
You guys spent countless days and nights together, for you invited him along with his sister to come and live with you. While Andrew was excited, Ashley wasn’t too thrilled.
She didn’t like you. Not just because you were taking all her brother's attention and time away, but it was something more. There was something off about you.
And she was right. From a young age, you had been possessed by a demon. It’s the reason why you're living on your own, away from your parents. The demon hasn’t fully taken over, at least not yet. But it certainly had its moments where it did.
Ever since that day, it changed your life. You were no longer able to eat regular food without throwing up. That’s why in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep, you snuck out only to kill and drink the blood of other humans.
That all changed when you met Andrew, sort of. While he didn’t know of the possession, he did always calm down the demonic side. However, you could tell that the demon wasn’t going to give up so easily. In fact it seemed to thrive more when you were around Andrew. Almost like it could tell what he has done in the past, not that you knew any of it. And he intended to keep it that way. You both intended to keep your pasts a secret.
Thai was not so easy. As the days turned to weeks Ashley became all the more suspicious. And since her brother was too blinded by love to see that something was wrong, she decided to take measures into her own hands. One night she pretended to be asleep, and after you left, she woke up her brother.
“Andy! Come on, there’s something you got to witness.”
While Andrew wasn’t too thrilled to be awake at such an ungodly hour, if it was about you, then he didn’t mind.
Shortly after he and Ashley found you in an alleyway. You were hunched over a dead body, and the second they took a step closer, you noticed their presence.
He took a moment to look at you, your pupils were dilated into slits and were really small, almost invisible to the naked eye, leaving your eyes white.
It was then he realized that you were possessed. Without thinking he rushed over to you, pulling you into a hug, ignoring the way you thrashed around in his hold. He spoke, his voice gentle as he looked over at his sister.
Ashley, seemingly knowing what to do, pulled out the trinket that she got back in the apartment.
“Mr. Demon! I am offering you something. This time take this demon away from my brother’s girlfriend!”
It was then that the whole area was black and red. The demon appeared just as quickly as it disappeared.
It worked.
When you awoke, Andrew simply pulled you into a tight embrace you started to tear up.
“Everything is alright,” he spoke and you knew that it would be.
Ashley
When she met you it had also been recently after they escaped from the apartment. When she saw you she thought you were beautiful, even with the punk looking appearance.
She demanded to her brother that they go and see you.
After having gotten the chance to speak with you, she was surprised by the attitude you gave her. But nonetheless she kept trying to speak to you.
After some time, she was finally able to break down the facade that you put up.
Underneath that tough exterior lied a kind and thoughtful person. Maybe that’s why she asked you to be a couple.
While she thought she had figured you out, you threw in a twist.
You see, you had been possessed by the very demon that she had been offering souls too.
It was no wonder why whenever she called out to the demon, she would only be met with silence.
But this demon possession took its toll on you. It forced you to go out “hunting” every night, killing and eating human flesh and drinking human blood.
You didn’t know what to do. So, you went to your girlfriend Ashley.
By the look on her face, you could tell that she was surprised and seemed extremely pissed off that you were targeted by the demon that she originally summoned. Luckily she had the grimoire still tucked away with her. She found exactly the ritual she was looking for, and with the help of her brother, she set it up.
However, right as she started the ritual, the demon started to take over. You were thrashing around, with your head banging against the floorboards. While worried for your sake, she could only continue the ritual, eyes however tearing up at the sight of your pain.
When the ritual was over, you became silent.
She rushed over to you, and started rambling about how she was so worried for you and how she was sorry that you had to go through all that.
You put your finger to her lips, successfully silencing her.
“Don’t worry, I’m okay now.” you softly spoke, “I’m okay.”

The King's Men - Chapter Fourteen
Day: Saturday, March 9th / 10th* Time: 3:42 PM EST
Andrew's expression is deceptively calm, but there is iron in his grip when he seizes Nathaniel's chin. Nathaniel lets him look his fill because it gives him time to study the bruises lining Andrew's face. The worst of the lot is a dark, narrow streak running down over his cheekbone from the corner of his right eye. The force of impact left half of Andrew's eye red with blood. An elbow, Nathaniel thinks, that had come way too close. "They could have blinded you," Nathaniel says. "All that time fighting and you never learned how to duck?" A stony stare is his only answer. Andrew lets go of him so he can tug Nathaniel's hood out of the way. He drags a finger along the lines of tape keeping the myriad of bandages in place as if looking for the best place to start. He tears the gauze off Nathaniel's right cheek first, exposing the stripe lines left by Lola's knife. He favors the stitches with a cursory glance before moving on. The tape on Nathaniel's other cheek hurts like hell coming off, since it pulls the skin around his burns, and Andrew freezes with his hand a few scant inches from Nathaniel's face. Andrew's expression doesn't change, but there is a new tension in his shoulders that doesn't bode well for anyone in the room. Andrew had dropped the first bandages as useless, but these ones he slowly sets on the floor by his knee without taking his stare off Nathaniel's face. Since Nathaniel is kneeling with his back to the room, Wymack is the only other person who can see the mess Lola made of his face. Nathaniel doesn't dare look up at him, but Wymack's fierce, "Christ, Neil," says the burns look as bad as they feel. A bed creaks as one of the Foxes get up. Wymack jerks his free hand in an emphatic order to stay put and says, "Don't." "One at a time," Browning reminds them. Andrew presses two fingers to the underside of Nathaniel's chin to turn his head. Nathaniel lets himself be guided and says nothing while Andrew looks his fill. When Andrew drops his hand and clenches it in Nathaniel's hoodie, Nathaniel risks looking back at him. There is violence in Andrew's eyes, but at least he hasn't shoved Nathaniel away yet. That has to count for something. "I'm sorry," Nathaniel says. Andrew's fist goes back, but he doesn't take the swing. Nathaniel knows it isn't because that is the hand cuffed to Wymack; Andrew's arm actually shakes with the effort it takes to not knock Nathaniel's head off his neck. Nathaniel says nothing to tip the balance either way. At length Andrew uncurls his fingers and lets his hand hang limp from the cuff. "Say it again and I will kill you," he says. "This is the last time I'm going to say it to you," Kurt says, coming up beside Wymack with a dark look on his face. "If you can't stow that attitude and behave—" Nathaniel shoots a warning look at him and cuts in with, "You'll what, asshole?" "The same goes for you, Nathaniel," Browning says. "That's your second strike. A third misstep and this," he twirls his finger to indicate the Foxes, "is over. Remember you are only here because we are allowing it."

I feel like Nicky is the one Wymack is most nervous to mic up, but trusts Matt & Dan enough to be sure they'll get something good from that. Allison, he knows what he's signing up for, so no one is surprised when she's as aggressive as Aaron. But I think it's Renee who surprises everyone (except Andrew).
When Renee gets mic'd up, everyone is expecting serenity. Peace. "Oh, that was a good pass" about the other team. "Come on, Foxes!" quietly chanted from goal. Maybe some prayers.
Instead, they get a constant stream, in a similar style to Andrew. They get screams loud enough the mic crackles. They get "YOU LITTLE BITCH" screamed at full volume multiple times. They get "Aw, the big baby got upset that the lil midget hit him? What are you gonna do, big guy? Cry and crawl back inside your mama?" when Aaron takes a swing at a guy twice his size. They get gamer-girl-playing-with-a-group-of-boys-who-don't-go-easy-on-her level trash talk. They get hopes and wishes for players to drop dead or go to Hell and burn for eternity. They get angry shouts. They get swearing with 0 filter. They get death threats. They get detailed fantasies about gutting people like fish or of where she'd like to break their bodies.
Wymack is shocked. The audience & fans are eating it up because Renee walks off court with a serene smile and is sweet as sugar. When the other Foxes watch it back, they're all speechless because.... is that THEIR Renee?????? Are we sure???? Because it's easy for them to forget she grew up in a gang & testified against her former found-family. Andrew is the only one who isn't surprised because that's the version of Renee he spars with.
Wymack decides Nicky and Allison can get mic'd up as much as they want. All of the cousins can get mic'd up again. But Renee is banned from doing it again.
Neil gifts her a bar of soap to clean her mouth out with.
THIS !!!!
This was an absolute joy to read and you’re so correct, I have no notes
I can also imagine her being like “thoughts and prayers” in the most passive agressive way possible. The Foxes win and she’s like “I’ll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers tonight, I know that was a tough one for you” and she has the most menacing smile ever that actually shakes the other team to their core.
Also Renee knowing like 101 ways to seriously maim someone and when one of the Foxes gets hurt she just shouts a number at them. She’s been doing it for a long time and none of the Foxes knew why. When they’re listening back to her recording they hear her shout a number and then mumble to herself what that maiming technique is. And they all are just like OH. So it’s a lot more intimidating and meaningful when they hear her shouting numbers on the court from then on.
Andrew very quickly memorizes the list as well and offers her his opinion on which one he would’ve used when she gets off the court.
“22 was a better option”
“Yes but 54 is more creative” And just smiles at him.
The other Foxes also start to remember some of what each number means. They feel especially honored when she wips out certain numbers in defense of them.
Renee shouting from across the court “34”
The Foxes “Oooo, you’re fucked dude. Good luck!”
