Hey tumblr! do you remember-
Seeing any of these fan comics during the past 10 years? Things like...
That One AA Comic
Tumblr media
These Hell Characters from DHMIS2 (which I didn’t design the human versions of but I sort of went crazy drawing them and I’m sorry I’m not sorry)
Tumblr media
This Osomatsu-san comic that took me like a solid year
Tumblr media
Or any of these? All of which you can find and read here btw...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-and many more besides! Well if you do, hi! I made all of these.
I love making fan comics and I even made so many duck comics that I made a whole section on my website for them (all free! no adverts, no profit).
I would love to make more, and right now I’m running a fundraiser for the third book of the original webcomic I make: The Property of Hate! Has a cute kid called Hero and a weird guy with a TV for a head? You might have seen them around maybe.
If you’ve enjoyed any of these comics I beg you to consider supporting this project- we even have a stretch goal to print my first ever prose story! It’s been a blast making all this content, but I can’t keep making it without support. Please consider helping out and signal boosting to help spread the word!

Anime I Watched This Fall
My first semester of college is officially over and the December holidays are upon us! I hoped to make one of these posts sooner, but I have been incredibly busy with schoolwork. Now that things have slowed down, let’s take sometime to reflect on things I’ve watched.
These anime are listed in chronological order and encompass everything I’ve watched from 9/1/2020 - 12/15/2020
Like always, they will be rated on a 1-10 scale; 1 meaning complete garbage, 10 meaning masterpiece. I will offer my thoughts on what I did/didn’t like about each show!
1. The God of High School - 6/10
Tumblr media
Despite the stellar animation from MAPPA and my high expectations, I was really disappointed by how this series was treated. Most of the story’s crucial elements were handled poorly. I finished this series feeling more confused about the plot than when I first began. The power system is really cool, but poorly explained. More time should have been spent on exposition and world building for this series, instead the fights were given the most screen time.
2.  Doukyuusei - 7/10
Tumblr media
I really liked the style of Doukyuusei. Granted, this was another movie I chose to watch primarily because of the hype surrounding it. The dynamic between Kusakabe and Sajou is an interesting one, and I also enjoy how the movies different acts were separated by the seasons. However, there's nothing that really sets Doukyuusei apart from other romance movies, its a little generic. Still, I enjoyed it nonetheless.
3.  Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season - 8/10
Tumblr media
My opinions on Re:Zero’s second season are biased. This was, by far, the sequel I was most hyped for during the summer/fall anime season. I was so happy to see the story’s continuation and I’m looking forward to the season’s second part coming sometime in January. Re:Zero is one of my all time favorite series because of the way it handles it characters and power dynamics. I also really enjoy the show’s psychological aspects. If you haven’t already, give Re:Zero a try!
4. Saint☆Oniisan (Movie + OVA) - 8/10
Tumblr media
This was a wonderful comedy. I wasn’t sure how the subject of Jesus and Buddha living together would be tackled, but it was handled wonderfully. I was laughing for pretty much the entire movie. I love the art style and little references to both Buddhism and Christianity, plus the incorporation of Japanese culture. Saint Oniisan is a bright comedy, with two eccentric main characters. If you like a show that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and need a good laugh, I can’t recommend this more.
5. Clannad: After Story - 10/10
Tumblr media
Never, while watching anime, did I cry as much as I did while watching Clannad: After Story. I didn’t realize how much I related to Okazaki until I saw him grow up in After Story. I was left sobbing, especially after episode 18. I still, to this day, cannot listen to the Dango song without tearing up. The original Clannad is nothing special, but the continuation of its story its something heartfelt, emotional, and down-to-earth. I love Kyoto Animation with all my heart, and Clannad made me appreciate everything the studio has done just a little bit more. Thank you Clannad, for reminding me about the kind of person I strive to be.
6. Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu - 5.5/10
Tumblr media
The art in A Whisker Away was beautiful. The story itself, however, is nothing too enjoyable. I found it difficult to like our protagonist or her love interest. Nothing about this movie is inherently memorable. The emotional climax came far too early which made the second half of the film seem long and drawn out.  All in all, the movie has a wonderful concept, I just believe it could have been so much more emotional than it was. When I watch a move, I like to empathize with the characters. It’s difficult to do when the characters aren’t given the proper exposition to be empathized with.
7.  Shikioriori - 6/10
Tumblr media
This is less of a movie and more of a collection of short stories. Flavors of Youth is something you shouldn’t watch on an empty stomach, all of the food looks incredible. The same cannot beside for the rest of this feature. The stories themselves seems heavily clichéd. Much like A Whisker Away, the initial premise is intriguing, but the execution results in something that comes across as trying too hard and carries no emotional weight with the viewer. If you plan on watching, pay more attention to the artwork and animation than the actual plot. You won’t be missing anything.
8. Vinland Saga - 7/10
Tumblr media
Vinland Saga helped me get out of the rut that Clannad: After Story. Not only does this show have a great story, its action packed with lots of interesting fights. I especially enjoyed all the Nordic history embedded within the show. Its really unlike any of the other historical anime I’ve watched. I will say, it’s gory. But, compared to all the other things I watched this time around, I finished this series the quickest. Its good, its graphic, its fast paced!
9.  Mononoke Hime - 7/10
Tumblr media
It’s ironic considering how much anime I’ve watched that I have yet to watch all of the most classic Studio Ghibli films. Princess Mononoke is grittier than most other Ghibli films I’ve seen, but it’s message is positive and its characters are wonderful. I can’t really speak ill towards classics like these. I guess maybe my one complaint is that this movie could’ve been a faster pace. Other than that... I really enjoyed everything Princess Mononoke offered! I understand why it’s so popular.
10. Howl no Ugoku Shiro - 8.5/10
Tumblr media
Can you believe it took me this long to finally watch Howl’s Moving Castle? Me neither!! This movie is so endearingly beautiful. I loved every second of it, from the characters to the soundtrack. So many iconic things come from just this one movie. I would like to take this time to thank my best friend for reminding me that Studio Ghibli films are wonderful! Thank you for watching this with me, I loved it! All in all, I regret not watching this sooner!
11. Toradora! - 6.5/10
Tumblr media
Toradora took me a while to finish, just because I lost interest about halfway through. But, I powered through it, and ended up really enjoying the show! I’m not the biggest fan of the ending, but that’s just a personal preference. Somehow, this show also made me cry? I’m not entirely sure why because Toradora! is probably the thing farthest from sad. Apart from the show’s dull slice of life moments, it was super cute! A much needed light-hearted romance.
12. New Initial D Movie: Legend 1 - 5/10
Tumblr media
Full disclosure, this is the only thing related to Initial D that I’ve ever watched. My band and I watched this expecting to hear some of that iconic Initial D music, itself all we got was a mildly confusing story about different types of cars. It was cliché and frankly a little boring. Although, I am still considering watching the original Initial D just so I can hear the music in the way it was original intended. I’ve got no other opinions on this movie. It’s best not to watch these movies without the context from the rest of the franchise.
13.  Uchuu Patrol Luluco - 7.5/10
Tumblr media
I didn’t really understand why people enjoy studio Trigger so much until I watched Space Patrol Luluco. I loved all the fun references to other studio Trigger works. I loved the humor, and I loved all the bright colors. The animation was extremely high energy, and the art style fits the show’s premise. Each episode was only 12 minutes long so it was a super quick binge. If you’re looking for something quick, light-hearted and comical, this is the perfect show to watch.
14. Orange - 7/10
Tumblr media
I owe a big thanks to a tumblr mutual for recommending this show to me! This holds the honor of making me cry by episode 3! I honestly did not expect the subject matter of this show to be as dark as it was. Usually when I see the genre ‘shoujo’ I do not associate it with a love story like that of Orange. The heavy subject matter made it a little too close to home for me, but I still really enjoyed this series. It reminds me off all the good times I had with my friends in high school, and of all the regrets I carry with myself to this day.
15. 3-gatsu no Lion - 7.5/10
Tumblr media
March Comes in Like a Lion is another show that was a bit of a slow burn for me. Each episode left me feeling emotionally drained, so I had to take a lot of breaks while I was working on watching this series. Shaft, the studio behind this anime, holds a special place in my heart because I loved their work on the Monogatari Series. March Comes in Like a Lion is a little different. It’s driving force it is characters, and it was cathartic to watch our main character transform through the entire duration of the first season. I know the show’s second season is much better, so I’ll be starting that soon!
16. Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei - 8/10
Tumblr media
I loved how artsy and smart The Tatami Galaxy is, but honestly I couldn’t watch too much at once cause it would hurt my head. I also couldn’t watch this show while I was tired because the speaking rate is much faster than typical anime. The Tatami Galaxy is so unique for its medium. I loved the different time loops and the crazy animation. The characters were fascinating. The dialogue, although very fast, it also fantastic. There’s an element of humor to this unique story telling, and I enjoyed ever minute of it!
Currently Watching:
Hunter x Hunter - 6.5/10 (As of Episode 30)
Tumblr media
I pride myself in having watched a lot of shounen anime, but I was reluctant to start Hunter x Hunter for years because I thought I would find it boring. I was oh so very wrong. Considering great shows like Naruto and Fairy Tail that fall under the same category, I expected Hunter x Hunter to be subpar in comparison. It gets a low score for two reasons. One, the power system was introduced a little too late and now I’m wondering if all the fights post episode 30 will involved nen in some way, shape, or form. Two, its still on hiatus.
Two Cursed Additions For This List
Please to do not let these be representative of my anime taste.
1.  Yarichin☆B*tch-bu - 4/10
Tumblr media
I am a CLOWN for not knowing this was 18+. The only reason I watched this was to see why everyone was talking about the pink-haired boy with the glasses and tongue piecing. I know why now, and I regret it. This was a massive mistake on my part. But hey, at the least the art and ending song kinda slap?
2. Euphoria (Dropped After 1 Episode) - 2/10
Tumblr media
If you know what I’m talking about when I say Euphoria, I am so sorry. And no, I am not talking about the HBO series. Seriously, don’t google this. Don’t watch this. Don’t interact with anything related to this. You’re probably wondering, “Then why did you watch it?” I did not watch this willingly. You see, I have a very bad habit of starting anime and then taking months to finish them. I made an ultimatum with a friend, lost, and then was forced to watch this a punishment. Not a fun experience. I’m very glad there are no GIFs of this on tumblr...

Track 16. Irrational
“Love is Exciting”
⚠️TRIGGER WARNING IN A/N⚠️: MENTIONS OF ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
a/n: I’m not even gonna make an excuse this time, I was supposed to finish writing this 4 - 5 days ago, & I was honestly just putting off writing at every chance I got & I had a bit of a bad week. I had some nasty thoughs & even attempted offing myself. Then I also had some arguments with my dad about some stuff he’s done to hurt me, while also trying to help one of my closest friends stop harming themself. I don’t mean to vent, or to make anyone have sympathy for me, and I really do want to finish this series and continue writing for all of you. Thank you guys so much for not getting upset with the fact that I’m so inactive sometimes & thank you for supporting the series. Let me know what I should write next! Anyway, I know you’ve been waiting, so here’s the long awaited chapter 16. I’m going to try to write chap. 17 withing the next week. Also, slight manga spoilers?
・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
“Y/N, baby, our brunch reservation is scheduled for 10:30. Could you please get out of bed now?” Yamagucci’s sweet tone was muffled by your door and the pillow over your head.
It had been two days since everyone went out all at once and right after, everyone’s schedule went back to normal. Everyone except for Akaashi. You had asked him if he wanted to go out yesterday, but he told you that he was going to be busy with work for the next few days, leaving you all by your lonesome. So, as mature as you held yourself to be, your childishness got the best of you and you flat out refused to go anywhere.
“Y/N, if you don’t get up, I’ll break your door down again. You have an twenty-five minutes to shower and you need to, because you smell like manure.”
“Tsukki! That’s so mean!”
“It’s true.”
“KAGEYAMA!”
The silence from your room broke Tsukishima’s calm demeanor once again and the one thing that finally got you up was the sound of wood & metal hitting your carpet. Scrambling out of your taco blanket, you rolled out onto the floor, landing next to your broken door.
“Dude... that was literally just fixed like... a month ago.” You dragged out a groan as Hinata began pulling you out of your room towards the bathroom.
“Y/N, sometimes you remind me of Bōkutō, you know that?” With his look of smug innocence, Hinata left you on the floor with one thought, and one thought only.
“HEY, WHAT’S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!”
・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
“And they live.” A snarky remark left Kei’s mouth as soon as he found you dressed and ready outside of your room.
“Oh please, Kei. You can take your healthy, official relationship and go elsewhere.” You slumped into the couch, huffing and puffing while he stared at you in amusement.
“For someone who’s so built on independence and maturity, you sure do get all hung up over this boy. Not to mention it’s only because he has a life that you aren’t necessarily a part of yet.” Throwing his arm around your shoulder and sitting next to you, Tsukishima poked fun at your little act.
He knew you weren’t one to act this way and that you were purposely being dramatic, so he wasn’t upset or annoyed at it the way he used to be. Now he just finds it funny and wonders why you kept this melodramatic habit of yours.
“Let’s go, you parasite. We’re gonna be late if we don’t catch a taxi in the next five to ten minutes.” He tugged you up by your arm, while all five of you linked arms and somehow made it out the door. Lucky for all of you, a taxi was just down the street. Getting in, you all squished in the car and you sat on Kageyama’s lap, so you’d all fit in easier.
・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
Once you guys got into the breakfast place, it felt like you forgot everything else in your life except for the food in front of you & the friends you had surrounding you. Out of habit, you snapped a picture of you food, posted it on Twitter, and got lost in the messages between you and Akaashi.
Tumblr media
After Tsukishima pulled you away from your mindless scrolling, you guys conversed about your upcoming work schedule. Though the mood took a darastic turn when the topic of moving rolled around. It took your thoughts a while to catch up to the conversation, but when they finally did, the words came out of your mouth faster than you expected them to.
“Wait- Tadashi, you’re planning to move?!”
“Well...before we tried waking you up, we all agreed that it feels like the apartment is getting too small to have all of us living there. Tsukki and I were  talking about moving and it just so happened that Hinata & Kags had the same idea. Plus, Tsukki, Hinata, and Kags are volleyball pros; so now that the scheduals are back up, they’re all going to start playing oversea games again, so no matter what, you’d still be mostly on your own.” He smiled at you sheepishly, averting his eyes and avoiding your gaze.
You glanced around the table, and it seemed like all of them had the same solem look on their faces. You always knew that you couldn’t all stay in the same apartment, moving on with your lives was something you had to do, but you didn’t expect to happen only after two years.
“I know you would have wanted to be in on the conversation, but it was just an ‘in the moment’ thing.” You knew Shōyō trying to make you feel better, but the comment only made you feel worse.
The table was silent and your stomach started to hurt. You couldn’t quite grasp why it was affecting you so harshly, it wasn’t like it wasn’t that big a deal. You guys weren’t losing contact, you weren’t going to stop being friends, you weren’t fighting, there was really nothing wrong, but it just hurt you.
“It’s okay...you don’t need to try to make me feel better. The feelings will pass before you know it. We can all browse the home catalogs together, and when the time comes, we can all pack together.” You gave them a smile from your happy facade, and though they knew it was fake, they all took it as it was, not wanting to push any further.
・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
Three hours past faster than any of you expected it to, though the last thirty-minutes felt like eons. The drive home was as quiet as the table had been earlier. All of you held hands while walking the rest of the ten minutes home. it felt like someone had just died, but it felt silly to you, knowing that not much was really changing. They weren’t even leaving until next year. They would still be here until Christmas. They would still be here for New Years. They would still be here for Valentines day. They would be here at least until spring, so why did it feel like your world just ended?
You couldn’t shake your negative thoughts, even when you all entered your shared apartment. You kept scanning the room for each one of them, feeling like they would disappear if you took your eyes off them for too long. You knew you were attached to the point where it was unhealthy, but you didn’t know how not to be. Even if you had met all of them is highschool, it felt like you had known these people your whole life, and they were a part of your family. Family had been around for so long.
“Y/N...” Tadashi’s voice broke through the silence that filled your home. “Why don’t you and I watch a movie together or something? I want to spend time with you until you feel better, and if anyone else wants to join, they can.”
You tried to give him a happy espression, but your gloom flooded through your smile. So you lost your smile and just nodded instead. He nodded back and went off to the kitchen to make some popcorn and other snacks, leaving you to pick a movie on the app or site of your choosing.
・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
Everyone ended up gathering on the couch to watch the movie, having nothing better to do, but you ended up falling asleep in Tsukishima’s lap halfway through the movie, allowing everyone to check the group chat without any suspicion.

Home Front, Mission 15: Phil & Zoe’s Cinderella Story
Once Upon a Workout
~
PHIL CHEESEMAN: Hello, ci-ti-zens, and welcome back to Radio Lock-In. I know last time it was Radio Phil, but since Zoe’s contributing via ROFFLEnet from the kennel where she's riding out the zombie horde, this felt a bit more apt. Also less likely to end in my having to fend off an attack by a pack of trained murder cats. Not that that's something I worry about late at night or anything. [laughs]
Anyway, it's time to start your warm-ups. Running on the spot, bit of stretching, whatever floats your boat. Oh, um, and uh, grab a yoga mat or um, large towel. You're going to be needing them. Because today, Radio Lock-In has a special treat: your very own Phil and Zoe-style fairy tale, with music breaks, ministry workouts, and a few minor updates to one of Ye Olde classic tales.
Uh, why fairy tales, you may ask? Well, obviously Zoe's a fan, what with all the talking cartoon animals in the Disney versions. But um, I just find them comforting. Have done since I was a kid. They're simple. Good wins, evil is vanquished, love is eternal, and magic is real. Well, I don't know about you, but all that sounds really good right now.
So without further ado, drum roll please! [taps hands rapidly on knees and makes a cymbal crash sound with his mouth] Cinderella! Or as Zoe calls it, the one with the posh outfits and the horse mice and in need of a rewrite from someone who has a better sense of women's shoe sizes.
But before we get to that, we'll start our story the way Cinderella starts hers: cleaning while wishing she was at a ball. Grab the nearest household item you can find and dance away while I play an appropriately jaunty tune. Ready? Dance!
~
PHIL CHEESEMAN: Wonderful! Now to catch you up, as our tale opens, everyone's looking forward to a lavish royal ball in the kingdom of... whatever it's called. But Cinderella can't go. Instead of dancing, her stepmother forces her to constantly tidy up.
I'll be honest, this sounds a lot like what I did as an excuse to get out of school discos. Well, at least until I learned a few slick dance moves from Daniel “Snake Leg” Simons. And uh, no, Zoe, I will not be showing you the patented Simons kick and slither. Luckily, Cinderella has her own snake legs: a fairy godmother who will whisk her away to the ball with some special fairy dust magic.
We'll be helping the fairy godmother out by distributing magic dust of our own with a few uppercuts! Get into a magic stance. Boxing stance, really, but we're in a story here. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, your knees slightly bent, fists up as if you're holding tight to a handful of fairy dust. Now you're ready for your magic uppercut. Rotate your body towards the arm in front and punch upwards with your back fist. Magic! Now rotate back to your starting position and you're ready for your next uppercut of magic.
I'd say it'll take about one minute to get Cinderella ready for the ball, so get to uppercutting. Start now. 15 seconds in. The dirty rags have transformed into a dress. Halfway there. The old pumpkin has become a magic carriage. Switch legs so that your other one is in front and keep the magic coming. Only 15 seconds left to go. The mice are horses now! All she needs are magic shoes! Let's turn those everyday shoes into glass slippers.
All done! Time to admire your handiwork. Feel free to keep doing magic uppercuts during this song or just twirl around as you do your own imaginary transformation.
~
PHIL CHEESEMAN: Now fully transformed, Cinderella heads to the ball, which I'd call a glamorous spectacle of light and gold and at least four different types of hors-doeuvres, but Zoe considers to be probably pretty boring, what with all the ball gowns and lack of a proper DJ.
Yeah, I'm fairly sure our Zoe always spent a lot of her youth in roller discos and is probably holding our imaginary ball to unreasonably high standards. But in honor of her anti-ball sentiments, we'll do some wall sits, just like the bored ball-goers.
For this, you'll need a wall that you can stand in front of. Stand with your back to the wall and lean back until your back is pressed against it, but you're still standing upright. Adjust your feet so that they’re shoulder-width apart and about a step in front of the wall, then slide your back down the wall until your thighs and calves make 90 degree angles with your back, head, and backside still against the wall.
We're gonna stay like that for 60 seconds, if we can, starting now. 15 seconds in. Why Zolinda, so lovely to see you here this evening. Halfway done. I know, such a boring ball. I'm too tired to even eat these delicious cheese canapes. Just 15 seconds to go. At least the prince is looking well. Maybe he'll meet his bride tonight, who decides to turn to a parliamentary system of rule! And done.
Stand back up and shake out those legs. A mysterious stranger has just entered the ballroom. Spoiler, it's Cinderella. All right, Cinderellas, I'll play an entrance song and you can do your best glass slippered red carpet walk, or another round of wall sits if you'd like. I'm gonna have some of those imaginary canapes. They imaginary sound imaginary delicious.
~
PHIL CHEESEMAN: And we're back. Just in time. Cinderella is now in the middle of an exciting tango with the prince, who wants to know more about her. Uh, naturally, per Zoe, they take the opportunity to have an in-depth conversation about ruling a kingdom in a way that allows for the voice of the people to be heard, gender equality, and whether avocado is a fruit, all while dipping and sashaying.
But uh, just as Cinderella is coming up with the excellent idea to test avocados’ fruitiness by putting it on toast, the clock begins to strike midnight. [a bell chimes twice] Once it hits 12 AM, all of that fairy magic will disappear, so Cinderella has to make a run for it.
That means it's time for high knees. Run in place, bringing your knees up with each step as if you're running back to your carriage before the clock strikes midnight. Let's go, starting now. 15 seconds in. You've made it out the front door of the palace, expertly dodging the guards. Halfway there. Uh, you're at the top of the longest flight of stairs ever. Head to the bottom. Only 15 seconds left to go. You've made it down the stairs, leaving a glass slipper behind in the process. That's okay, your carriage is just ahead. Made it! Now it's time to head home and pretend you've been cleaning all night. Practice looking casual yet hard-working during this next song.
~
PHIL CHEESEMAN: We're almost to the end of our tale. It's the next day and no one suspects that Cinderella was the previous evening's it girl, the talk of the town, the belle of the, well, ball. The prince, who Zoe notes foolishly left his glasses off while dancing and therefore couldn't see the face of the woman he fell for, is searching for her by trying to fit the glass slipper on everyone he sees. Uh, according to Zoe, that is only the fifth worst way to pick a potential mate, but she says she will not reveal one through four except to say that one of them involves lime jelly and exactly 16 eels.
And with that somewhat discomforting thought, let's help our prince out with some knee folds. They're just like lifting your foot for a shoe fitting. More or less, anyway. Start by lying down on your back. Grab your yoga mat or towel to put underneath you so you've got something comfortable to lie on. Now bring your knees up so that they’re bent and the soles of your feet are flat on the floor and your toes are pointing straight forward. Your arms should be by your sides, your shoulders relaxed and chest open. [sighs] Relaxing right?
Now as you inhale, use your abdominal muscles to lift your right leg off the floor while keeping your hips against the ground. Keep your knees bent and lift your leg until your thigh is at a 90 degrees angle from your body and your lower leg is parallel with the floor. They call this table position because, well, it looks like your lower legs are the top of a table. Now exhale as you lower your leg back down to the floor. Now do the same with your left leg, and continue alternating for the next minute.
Go! These aren't meant to be fast kicks. Keep the movement slow and controlled. Imagine someone trying endless shoes on your feet. 15 seconds in, but all the feet that the glass slipper has been tried on are too wide! Keep going. Halfway through, and now the feet are too narrow! 15 seconds of feet left to try. You're almost there. Done. That's it, that's the one. You've found Cinderella! And now you deserve a break. Shoe fitting and storytelling are both hard work. I'll put on a nice cooldown song so you can stretch out your muscles from all that fairy taling.
~
PHIL CHEESEMAN: And that's the story of a very active Cinderella. Fun! I almost forgot we were exercising. And Zoe says it went off more or less without a hitch, even if I did leave off a detailed epilogue about Cinderella teaming up with the fairy godmother to create a magical haute couture fashion line. Uh, she says half the fun of fairy tales is that they're so simple that you get to add your own spin to it, make the story your own. Works for me, as long as we still get to throw in a happily ever after. I miss those.
Anyway, let us know on ROFFLEnet if you like fairy tales as much as we do and we'll put our heads together to come up with another. Maybe... Rapunzel. [laughs] I definitely feel like I can relate to someone who spends half her life trapped in a tower and is rapidly growing a very distressing amount of hair. Whatever we do pick and however we remix it, I have to say, there's still something comforting about retelling a classic. These stories have lasted hundreds of years, through war and disease and love and zombies, and if they can keep going, so can we.

“You mean to tell me your mother took them… She planned all of this, just to get to you” Alex seethed, glaring at Lena, she was furious, you were like a sibling to her and if anything happened to you… She didn’t want to think about it “Yes… I didn’t know she would go this far, I’m so sorry” Lena said, looking at Alex and Kara, Kara currently pacing as she thought of what they could do “Do you know where she could’ve taken them?” Kara asked, looking at Lena and watching as she thought “I don’t… But I have some places that we could narrow it down to” Lena said, going over to her computer and pulling up what properties her mother owned that they could use to single one out.
You stared at Lillian with wide eyes “Let me go” you said, wincing when she tightened her grip on your jaw “Oh honey, you’ll be lucky to get out of here alive” she said, grinning a sadistic looking grin before she released you “What do you want from me?” You asked, not sure why you were here since you and Lena had broken up so there should be no reason for this “Lena will come as soon as she finds you missing, you’re leverage… She decides whether you live or die” Lillian said simply, going over to the door “Don’t get too comfy, you’re in for a long night” she said, giving you a smirk before she left the room.
“We need to call the cops” Alex said, looking over the images on the computer and pulling her phone out “Wait” Lena said, looking at Alex and grabbing her arm lightly “Not yet… Knowing my mother-“ She said until her phone started ringing “-will call me” she finished before grabbing her phone “Hello?” “Lena… You want your precious little thing back?” Lillian asked, the smirk evident in her tone “Don’t hurt them!” Lena said, gripping the back of her desk chair and trying to keep herself calm “Oh we won’t, but you have to come here… Alone” Lillian said, the sound of her heels clicking on the concrete evident “Where?” Lena said after a moment of silence, nodding as Lillian gave her the address “I’ll be there, just please… Don’t hurt them” she begged, fighting back tears when Lillian just laughed before hanging up “Where are they?” Kara asked, going over to Lena and touching her shoulder “I know where they are, but she wants me to come alone” Lena said, going to grab her things “You can’t-“ Alex said, trying to stop her “I can and I will, if anyone else comes Y/N dies… I can’t live with that if that happens” Lena said, staring them down before leaving her office.
When you woke up again once more, everything hurt and your vision was blurry, you took some deep breaths before trying to force yourself to sit up, only succeeding in making yourself feel more pain, crying out slightly before you dropped back to the floor; memories flooding back as you recalled what happened over the past few hours, beatings and torture devices, it was no wonder you were in pain and bleeding on the floor, flinching back when the door opened and closing your eyes “Baby” you heard Lena breathe out, feeling her touch your face and carefully lift it so she could see you “Lena?” You whispered, coughing some and watching her expression turn even more worried “She wasn’t supposed to hurt you” Lena whispered, gently running her thumb along your cheek and looking over your body which was already broken and bruised “She won’t touch you again, I promise” Lena said, looking at you before gently releasing your face and leaving the room.
“Alex, we aren’t supposed to be here!” Kara whispered, her and Alex having discretely followed Lena to the location “I don’t care” Alex whispered back, the two of them peeking through a window when they got to the building and seeing a few of Lillians goons there “We need to find where either Lena or Y/N is” Alex said, looking at Kara and crouch walking along the side of the building so they wouldn’t get caught “And what will we do if we find them? Alex, we can’t do anything without risking them or ourselves!” Kara hissed, although she followed Alex anyway since she didn’t want her doing something stupid “That’s why the cops are on the way” Alex said, rolling her eyes before quietly making her way along the building.
Lena walked to where her mother was as fast as possible, slamming the door open and glaring at her “You weren’t supposed to hurt them!” She shouted, slamming her hands down on the table in front of her mother “Now, I made no such promise, I said they wouldn’t be dead” Lillian said, not fazed by Lena’s outburst “Tell me why you felt it necessary that I be here that you kidnapped Y/N” Lena said, looking at Lillian and watching as she smirked at her “It was the only way I could guarantee that you take over the company, I wanted you to take it over with Mon El, but you know what happened to him” she said, giving a small shrug as she messed with the pen in her hands “What did you do to him?” Lena asked, having not really cared for him but she didn’t want him dead “He refused to listen, so I disposed of him, just like I did with James when he failed to kill your lover there” Lillian said, looking at Lena and watching as Lena seemed to link everything “James was the one who started the fire” Lena said, looking at her and watching her mother give her a twisted smile “Now you’re catching on”.
Sometime after Lena left, you had managed to get yourself to sit up with a groan, taking a moment to get your bearings before you looked around, spotting something shiny not far from your feet Lena you thought, shifting as best as you could to get whatever it was with your foot and pulling it towards yourself after about the third attempt, grabbing it with your hand and seeing it was one of her hair pins “Shit” you muttered, knowing this would take a while since you had almost no clue how to do this but you went to work anyways, keeping an eye out for the door opening.
Alex peeked through another window and smirked slightly “Coast is clear” she said, pushing the window up which was surprisingly unlocked “They must really think no one will find them” Alex said, carefully climbing in before turning and helping Kara in, the two of them getting to around the corner before Kara quickly pulled Alex back “It’s Winn!” Kara whispered, gesturing to the figure walking down the hall and muttering to himself as he did, only stopping when Alex grabbed him and pulled him to where her and Kara were “Where are they?” Alex hissed, glaring at Winn who seemed to freeze for a moment “You aren’t supposed to be here! You’re going to get them killed!” Winn said, glancing around anxiously before focusing on them again “Look, I didn’t want to do it” he said, pulling them into an empty room “But, I can help you”.
Lena stared at Lillian in pure shock “You killed everyone that went after us? Are you planning to kill Winn too?” She asked, her having liked Winn as her student and she didn’t want to see him killed, even though he helped get you kidnapped “If he doesn’t cooperate, yes” Lillian said simply, looking at her before sighing “Now, do you want your lover to live or not? Join me and we’ll let them go, but if you don’t… Lets just say that the room they’re in is loaded so much with dynamite it could destroy a village” Lillian said, watching as Lena’s eyes widened before she nodded “I’ll go with you, but you have to release them first… I want to see them being let go” Lena demanded, looking at Lillian who rolled her eyes but nodded “Fine, come along” she said, leading Lena out of the room.
“Yes!” You whispered when you got the last chain off, dropping the clip before forcing yourself up even though every movement was painful and going over to the door, quickly hiding behind the door when it opened “Mrs. Luthor… They’re gone” the goon said, seeming to be speaking into a com of some sort and you waiting until they stepped in far enough before you slipped out and slammed the door shut behind you, locking it before making your way down a random hallway.
“They’re in a room not too far from here, but it’s guarded so it won’t be easy to get in” Winn said, looking at Alex and Kara, peeking out the door to make sure no one was around before gesturing for them to follow, them making it about halfway when Winn stopped and listened to his com “They got out… We have to find them before Lillian does” he said, looking at Alex and Kara, them running down a hall until they rounded a corner and Kara slammed into you “Y/N” Kara said, quickly getting up before helping you up and looking you over “What did they do to you?” Alex asked, looking at you and helping Kara get you standing “No time, we have to find Lena” you said, batting their hands away.
Lillian led Lena into a wide-open room in the building before contacting the goon guarding you “What do you mean they’re gone?! Find them!” She shouted into her walkie talkie, glaring at Lena who seemed a little smug “What did you do?” She asked, pulling something out of the pocket of the inside of her coat, it being a small handgun and pointing it at Lena “Don’t try anything, I’m not the only one with a weapon aimed at you” she said, making Lena look around and seeing at least three other guards with weapons aimed at her “What could I do?” Lean asked, looking at Lillian and holding her hands up.
You and the others ran down a hall, pain shooting through your body as you did so but you ignored it, you had to help Lena “Kara, Alex, follow me up these stairs, there’s going to be guards with guns… We’ll take them out and Y/N will distract” Winn said, stopping the three of you outside the room that they were going to bring you “How do we know we can trust you?” Alex asked, looking at Winn and Kara smacked Alex’s arm “He wouldn’t of helped us this far” she said, looking at Alex who rolled her eyes but nodded “Be careful” Alex said, lightly grabbing your arm before pulling you into a hug, Kara doing the same “You guys too” you said, watching them head up the stairs before you took a deep breath and stepped into the room.
Lillian stepped around to stand behind Lena when she heard the doors open, you holding your hands up and walking towards them slowly with a slight limp “Easy, I’m here to talk” you said, stopping a few feet in front of them and slowly lowering your hands “You don’t get to be the lead of this” Lillian said, grabbing Lena and pressing the gun to her head “I’m going to tell you what you’re going to do” she said, looking at you and you nodded “Okay, I’ll listen” you said, glancing at Lena who looked like she was in tears with how helpless she was in this situation “Good, I want you to stay right there while I slowly back away and take Lena with me, you try anything you’re both dead” she said, keeping her eyes on you while you glanced up at the walkway “I wouldn’t be so sure of that” you said, looking back at her to see her looking, not seeing her goons but Kara, Alex, and Winn staring her down from where her goons were “No” Lillian said, glancing around some before shoving Lena forward and turning to run only for the cops to be pulling in in front of where she was going to run, you catching Lena before she fell and watching as Lillian seemed to panic, looking around some before she grabbed you, watching as the cops made their way towards the building “Let me go” you said, gritting your teeth and struggling in her grip “No, if I get arrested, you die” Lillian said, glaring at you and about to say more when something forced her down and the gun to slide away, Lena having tackled her and the gun sliding in front of you, you watching as Lillian got the upper hand and started to choke Lena, you springing into action and grabbing the gun, not even thinking about it when you pulled the trigger, hitting Lillian in the back and watching as she cried out before she collapsed, Lena getting out from under her and coughing, rushing over to you when she saw you frozen in fear, still aiming the gun “Hey hey hey, it’s okay” she soothed, having you drop the gun before she pulled you close to her just as the cops came in.
A few days after the event, you were getting ready for your release from the hospital, Kara and Alex were helping you get everything ready when there was a knock on the door “Hey… Can I come in?” Lena asked, looking at the three of you and you nodding “Sure” you said, glancing at Kara and Alex who nodded “We’ll give you two a moment” Kara said, heading out of the room with Alex and closing the door on their way out “I’m so-“ the two of you said, laughing some before you spoke up “You go first” you said, looking at her and watching her nod before going over to you to sit on the edge of your bed “I’m so sorry you were dragged into all this, it was never my intention to hurt you or get you hurt” Lena said, looking at you with an apologetic expression “It’s okay, I’m not mad at you… I’m sorry for prying so much” you said, looking at her and watching her shake her head “No no no, you have nothing to be sorry for, I wanted to tell you, but I couldn’t risk you… But it looks like it didn’t matter” Lena said, reaching over and resting her hand on top of yours “Can we start over?” She asked, looking at you and biting her lip “Of course… I didn’t want to break up to begin with” you said, giving her a small smile and laughing when she tackled you in a hug, only pulling back when you heard Kara ‘awwwww’, causing you to blush as you quickly pulled back.
You were back at your dorm for the first time in a while and sighed as you started packing your things “Got any big plans for Christmas?” Kara asked teasingly, watching as you rolled your eyes and threw a pillow at her “You know exactly what I’m doing” you chuckled, zipping up your bag and looking at your phone when it vibrated “I’ll see you for Christmas Eve, right?” You asked, looking at Kara who grinned and nodded before tackling you in a hug “Of course, be safe okay? And rest! You’re still healing” Kara said sternly, you rolling your eyes but nodding “I will, take care of our dog, okay?” You said, scratching Saiska/Kryptos head as you passed “Of course, love you!” Kara called as you headed out the door “Love you too!” You said before you shut the door, readjusting your grip on your bags before you took the elevator down, looking around the parking lot and smiling when you saw who you were looking for “Waiting for someone?” You asked, smiling some and watching as the person turned “You” Lena said, smiling at you and helping you put your bags in the trunk of her car “Ready?” She asked, smiling at you “Always”.

Beside Thranduil you stood as he gave a few words in Elvish to his people to note the occasion before calling for the celebration to begin with a toast of wine. The instant that sip of raspberry wine hit your lips you knew it would be a rough morning for you if you lost count of your sips. But between your tasting on a supply of treats specially made for your enjoyment you had emptied your first glass. And where your father had been a lightweight your darkest nights of downing fire whiskey to burn away what you had seen and felt to become a Death Eater left you a clear rival for even Thranduil on his worst nights by a few of the on looking Elves’ guesses. Through your giggling conversation with the Weasley Twins over the pair of blondes eyeing you adoringly from afar in their conversation with the Men from Rohan and Gondor asking more about your people your conversation lulled at the start of a slow clear tune.
A turn of your head later you released your glass freeing it to float back to your seat aweing the Men it passed while Thranduil led you by hand to the dance floor. Alone you stood and curtsied through his deep bow with hold of your hand that soon shifted in your rise to take your first steps as he purred lowly, “We agreed fully at least on that I receive your first dance.”
You let out a giggle as you passed through a turn with him signaling more couples to join you on the floor, “Oh really? So am I to be passed back and forth all night?”
He chuckled and smiled at you replying, “We have agreed on a few dances and thought you might prefer to share them with us in pairs between rests for food and mingling with your guests. I did notice they brought gifts as well.”
You giggled again, “No doubt far from impressive when you both gave me jewels. I do hope you won’t be too displeased when you see my gifts for you on holidays. I’ve never been one to be too lavish in mine.”
With a stolen peck on your cheek before a lift he purred, “I will love your gifts, we both will. No matter what you decide to gift us. I swear it.”
“I’ll need that in writing.” Making him send you a challenging grin, “In case you forget.”
He chuckled as you giggled through another spin, “Not likely.”
In a glance at the Gondorians still by Thengel you asked, “I didn’t ruin things too badly with what I said to Denethor, did I?”
Thranduil shook his head, “Not at all. He should have known not to threaten a child in my realm, had you not defended Estel I would have.” He paused then asked, “You can change to appear as anyone? Or is it just for those who threaten you in defense?”
You grinned up at him curiously at his muddled expressions in his gaze, “I can take any form I wish whenever I wish to. Though if it bothers you-,”
He shook his head, “Not at all.”
“If it helps I try not to fully shift into others unless forced to. Usually my hair is out of habit really.”
“Whatever you feel necessary. Though I do admit it was quite devious of me to tell Denethor that you change at your own will and even we have trouble distinguishing you from time to time.” You giggled softly as he purred near your ear, “I do love unsettling him Dearest, and now he shall be amply inclined to behave better.”
Locking your eyes with his you said, “Dew Drop, you are far too inclined to mischief to have me believe you were born to a throne.”
He shook his head, “I was a merchant’s son.”
“Do you miss it?”
He sighed, “Not really. I am still serving my people. Though it is tiring from time to time.” His eyes turned to the Feanoreans dancing around you all stealing glances at you both, “I am curious to know how their opinions of you have changed so quickly. Perhaps Elros has been sharing what you shared with him to prove your identity.”
You shook your head, “Remember when I met Celeborn’s wife?” He gave a slight nod, “Ginny showed them a bit more of my life, and my deaths.” His face dropped in shock and you shrugged, “Bit hard to hate someone you’ve seen die twice.” Over the frantic beating of his heart the dance ended and his eyes closed at your rise to kiss his cheek and whisper into his mind, “Please don’t worry. I don’t plan on it happening again. War is the last thing we want.”
In your step back he broke out of his shock and grinned at you nodding as he guided you through the first hold of the next dance, “I do hope in time we might grant you so much happiness that you find it impossible to see the pain you have endured.”
You grinned up at him, “You and my father both.”
The dance ended and Glorfindel grinned sliding in to steal you away making you giggle and the King chuckle after his stolen kiss on your cheek, “Hello My Darling. Enjoying your celebration so far?”
You nodded, “You?”
“Of course. I was assisting Ginny in coercing Haldir to ask her to dance.”
You giggled again, “Sounds like she just might have to pin him down and plant one on him to calm him down.”
Glorfindel couldn’t help but grin widely then lowly say, “If you mean if she were to kiss him I imagine it would only aid in complicating matters. It would trigger the full courtship.”
“How is that a bad thing?”
He chuckled and wet his lips, “I merely mean it would involve Haldir’s moving into Ginny’s home for their romance to be properly supervised, she has been wed before, but still he must be held accountable for not pressing farther than she is willing.”
With a grin you asked, “We’ve kissed, how is it you aren’t complicating things as much as Haldir is?”
As he guided you through a spin and set of turns he leaned in to purr, “We have very different wished paths for our courtships. You initiated ours where he is courting the younger sister of a Queen. There are very different expectations.”
In a quick dart out your tongue wet your lips drawing his eyes straight to them, “Would it help if I told him he didn’t need to be so tense?”
He chuckled shaking his head, “I am afraid not. Though a few teas or lunches together might calm him if he learned he had your friendship and trust.”
You raised a brow making sure to say it when Ginny and Haldir passed by, “Of course, we should have Haldir for a lunch.” In your passing glance you could see his growing grin overhearing your invitation as you flashed Ginny a wink spreading her grin. Halfway across the floor now you continued, “I dare say he grinned, openly.”
Glorfindel chuckled, “Yes he did.” Stealing a glance of his own at Thranduil, who had been sharing his dances without you with his mother who held an equally as large grin at what he was telling her.
Two dances later you were back at the table giggling as you caught Thorin locked in a discussion with Dis about what he was to expect in being a Dam, yet again. Tipping back your glass to wash down your brownie you finished your second glass of wine that shifted the next two switches of partners. In the blur you caught the yawn of your boys and joined Taule in guiding them up to their room. Safely they were tucked into bed after changing out of their grass and dirt stained clothes, all beaming at their night of fun you had allowed them to. After a short story and a set of kisses from you their eyes closed and they drifted off to sleep to be guarded by the guards outside their door.
Off in the eastern gardens Halmar spotted the same distracted Elleth he had spotted earlier with shimmering copper hair. Wetting his lips he strolled past her side to fetch a glass of punch then moved to head back again only to halt beside her stating flatly, “It is a lovely night tonight. In Rohan we were expecting rain.”
Aimlessly she nodded then replied, “It is.”
Stealing another glance at her after seeing the discreet head nods from his friends he said, “The light makes your eyes glow.” That made her head turn as she snapped out of her thoughts, “And your coat shimmer.” His expression dropped before he wet his lips and stammered out, “Hair, I meant hair! Not coat.”
Softly she asked, “Why-,”
He let out an exasperated sigh and began to ramble, “This was foolish, I was foolish. I truly apologize for wasting your time. I will simply stick to speaking with my horses..”
He readied to turn away only to have her hand fix on his wrist freezing him in place at her curious grin, “Why would speaking to me be foolish?”
Shifting his body to face her he answered, “Clearly you did not wish to carry on a conversation with someone of my standing.”
Keeping hold of his wrist she replied, “I was merely distracted. I do apologize for giving you that impression. My mare is pregnant, due any day, my thoughts were with her.”
He nodded, “If you wished I could escort you to the stables. You could see the Mare and ponies we gifted the Queen and her sons.”
The light in her eyes grew and she eased her hand up around his elbow stirring a grin on his lips, “I would like that very much.” He nodded then turned to guide her through the party out to the stables while his friends stifled their excited giggles.
Somewhere between your third glass and a stolen grip of both hands of your intendeds you somehow managed to go unseen up to Thranduil’s room, by how much you three had drank it was a miracle you were all still upright. But you wouldn’t be for long. Your gown was now under their outer robes and boots that laid out under your discarded heels. The crown on your head somehow was safely placed back into its box. With a painful throb behind your eyes you awoke between the tangled Elves each trying to claim as much of you as they could to hold in their sleep. In the first glimpse of the light and a shifting of a nose along your jaw you realized you were naked and clearly so were they.
At once your jumbled memories snapped back, the tangled lip locks where each inch of you was either stroked or kissed between their turns claiming your lips and tongue as theirs. Then the lips and hands shifted as your corset and their shirts and pants were cast aside as their moans broke free at your own wandering hands to pleasure them. It was after this you were divided in half, one having full reign over your lips to freely moan at your actions on them while the other sank to grip your hips to draw as many moans from you in return. The last image you had was their lips planting to yours firmly, not out of lust but as a clear sealing of a formerly spoken vow to you assured by adding a joined set of silver bands, one with a large square mystic fire quartz surrounded by glowing white stones on interwoven bands with two bands around it. One with two squared opals and the other with four opals circling it slid onto your index finger.
Tumblr media
The knock on the outer door to the apartment stirred the King behind you from sleep to groggily peer at the bedroom door hearing the trays of food being left on the table outside urging him at their departure to kiss your cheek and whisper, “I’ll bring in breakfast Darling.”
In front of you Glorfindel stirred then claimed a kiss of his own on your lips, “I will help bring it in my Love.” The pair of them groaned rubbing their heads while you brushed back the covers and scooted to the edge. By the size of them alone you were certain you would feel it if you had gone any farther than you had remembered, and when you finally managed to get onto your feet adding Thranduil’s silver shirt over you on your path through your summoned door into the Chamber of Secrets main office they reached the food. Curiously as they returned and set the trays down on the bed they found their pants and eagerly tugged them on to follow you through the door.
Wetting their lips they eyed your fingers trailing along a set of vials after you peered into a small cauldron in the center of a counter Glorfindel peered into beside Thranduil as he asked, “Is that, fur?”
You nodded, “Yes, a lovely shade of puce, should be done in a couple hours now.”
Thranduil, “This is Thorin’s potion?”
You nodded and claimed a vial Glorfindel pointed to asking, “What is that for?”
“Hangover.”
He nodded and Thranduil asked, “What is it?” They both followed you through to the King’s room again and onto the bed watching as you added three drops to the pitcher then made it return to its home again as the door vanished as your finger twirled stirring the mixture inside to blend fully.
“A rare snake venom.” Their eyes turned to you in shock and you replied, “Completely non toxic, worst it will do if you are bitten by it is make you crave cheese for a week.” You glanced between them offering them glasses then claimed your own you clinked with theirs, “If there’s anything I know, it’s snakes.” Downing the mixture your pain eased fully, a realization the men shared after their first sip soon urging them to down the rest as well before joining you on eating their breakfast as you did. Wetting your lips you caught the identical woven bands on their index fingers, both in black metal with four diagonal settings for opals around a mystic fire quartz circular stone in the center.
Tumblr media
Catching your gaze Glorfindel stated with a wide grin, “We do love our rings you created for us.”
Peering between them you caught Thranduil’s agreeing nod, “Yes Darling, we do. A perfect choice for our wedding bands.”
Raising your hand you eyed your ring again and Glorfindel leaned in to kiss your cheek then point out the details on it, “Woven bands for the pair of us obviously. The center stone as proof of your station and our devotion to you.”
Thranduil, “The band with two opals count for us, and the four on the other are for our little ones. Should we have more in the future more bands will be fashioned around the rings.”
“You made this?”
They both nodded and claimed a tender kiss before Glorfindel stated, “It is tradition to show our affections for our One while proving our skills in forging gifts for you.”
Thranduil, “And we truly treasure you revealed your gift and skill in forging gems and metals from earth to create ours. Normally Elleths rarely learn to forge and browse the shops for a suitable ring to their tastes.”
Glorfindel cupped your cheek and kissed you again, “No doubt we will be the envy of all with your gifts.”
Next Thranduil’s fingers eased under your chin turning it to face him for his own tender kiss, “You should eat. After all, we did not allow you much time to eat last night.”
Unable to help it you grinned and eased the tray closer to you and began to eat as they did the same, leaving the discussion of their version of a wedding that you had performed somehow. Yet as your trays were cleared and you floated them back to the table in the other room you laid back between the pair and watched as they settled around you. “I have to ask.” Their heads shifted as their hands smoothed over yours resting on your stomach, your finger pointed to Thranduil, “You’re King, which would make me Queen,” your head turned to face Glorfindel asking, “What does that make you?”
He grinned as Thranduil stated, “The Queen’s Consort.”
“Sort of sounds like a mistress a bit.”
Glorfindel chuckled, “To Men it normally does, but to our kin and the Dwarves it is a station attached to a marriage of high rank. So it marks me not only as, I wouldn’t say third highest, but fairly close behind the ruling pair as well as husband to the Queen.”
“Ok.”
Thranduil grinned leaning in to kiss your cheek, “Trust me Glorfindel will not be left out in matters of state if he wishes. Though controlling the armies belong to the pair of us rule in our palaces also rests with him.”
“You don’t want me controlling the armies.”
Thranduil chuckled as Glorfindel stated, “You would be a master at leading armies.”
“Ok, I punched the King’s cousin in my first visit to Rohan, first time I met the Steward’s son from Gondor I threatened to destroy their kingdom.” You glanced at Thranduil, “I essentially broke into your kingdom and, well,” You glanced at Glorfindel, “I showed off one of my deadly creatures when I first saw you.”
Glorfindel chuckled as Thranduil turned your chin to kiss you again then purr, “My Love, there are only two Queens in our world. The wife of Thengel and you, and trust me when I say, she is far more brash than you are.”
You let out a disbelieving giggle and Glorfindel stated, “Were she not so close to labor you would have seen it for yourself. Soon we will be returning the favor by gifting them something fabulous for their next heir.”
You nodded again and Thranduil kissed your cheek, reminding you, “We have four sons between us, there is no rush for little ones.”
Glorfindel nodded, “We love our little Princes so very much.”
A nip at your lip later you glanced at Thranduil as he grinned asking warmly while stroking your cheek, “What are you thinking?”
“Would it be too early to check on our horses?”
He chuckled claiming a kiss as Glorfindel stated, “Not at all, Love.” Then claimed a kiss of his own wrapping his arm around your middle to help you to the edge of the bed as you giggled against his lips.
Thranduil, “First we dress, the boys should be eating now with Naneth.”
He moved to enter his closet as you passed through your doorway into your closet as Glorfindel passed through to his room to do the same. Wetting your lips you waved a finger calling your clothes and shoes from the night before back to your closet as you hopped into a new pair of panties and a matching bra. Leaving Thranduil’s shirt aside you pulled on a pair of socks then wiggled into your jeans and converse before adding a tank top. On your way back you pocketed your wand sheath then passed back through after removing your hair clip to pull your hair back into a tall ponytail after brushing your teeth and washing your face.
Through the door again you giggled as Thranduil scooped you up into a tight hug claiming another kiss, “You look incredible.” After a momentary pause he asked, “You are pleased now that we are wed?” Your head tilted and he stated, “I understand it was sudden but Elven unions usually are, private between the couples. I understand there are quite lavish ceremonies for your kin-,”
“I never really wanted a large ceremony. Never really imagined being able to get married. Though Dad has always had dreams of his role of giving me away.”
Thranduil raised a brow, “You are not property.”
You giggled rolling your eyes, “It’s more of a sign of his blessing nowadays, though how it would work for two husbands, I’m not sure.”
He grinned as Glorfindel wrapped around your back kissing your cheek, “We will figure it out, my Love.” Turning you in his arm Thranduil passed you to Glorfindel for his own tight hug and kiss while Thranduil’s hand eased around your hips and ass stealing a gentle squeeze only to grin at you in your playful smirk at him. Easing you down Glorfindel stole a stroke over your back and hip before cupping your ass for a moment on your path to the door. Across the hall you grinned finding the boys in the dining room with Taule.
Her grin grew watching the boys race to you wishing you good morning before you asked, “How would you like to go check on your ponies?”
They nodded and hurried to go pull on their boots making you giggle only to spot Legolas enter the room then freeze with a creeping grin at your stolen hug, “Morning Leggy.”
Legolas, “Good morning Naneth.” He looked you over as well as his father’s less flashy shorted robe for when he went riding and trained, “Out for a run?”
Thranduil nodded, “Jaqi was wishing to check on her mare.”
Through the doorway you eyed the trio of boys hopping and tugging their boots on making you cross the room to them to crouch down and help them secure the boots as Glorfindel asked, “Have you thought of names yet?”
You turned eying the trio as Elured called out, “Lightning!”
Elurin, “Stormy!”
Estel wet his lips as his brows furrowed and he said, “Thunder?”
With a grin you kissed their cheeks, “Lovely choices.” You peered up at Thranduil when you stood asking, “I thought they came with names, or, do horses, not name their young?”
Thranduil chuckled, “They do, however usually for their riders they prefer to be gifted another name to honor that bond.”
You nodded and Glorfindel asked, “Any ideas?”
A sheepish grin eased onto your face widening their smiles, “I’ve always sort of liked Felienne.” They blinked, “I know it sort of sounds and is spelled close to feline, but in Ancient Runes it means Wind Chaser.”
Taule, “It is a lovely name.”
Legolas, “I am certain she will try to be worthy of it by testing her speed.”
You shook your head, “It’s more about heart, and a willingness to race off into the unknown. It’s, there’s a whole story about it, this breed of Noble horses unmatched by any and Felienne wants to run with them, but when they run the earth trembles and breaks as storms race and frighten others away as they race off into the enchanted mist.”
Taule shifted her head saying, “We have a tale like that, the horse is actually lost, tumbles off a cliff and Manwe gifts her wings.”
You nodded and giggled, “The birth of the Pegasus breed. Must be a common tale for magical races.”
Taule chuckled, “We should compare more tales from these Ancient Runes of yours.”
You nodded, “I would love to. Besides, the boys might love hearing more about unicorns.”
Legolas raised a brow, “You, you really have unicorns?”
Glorfindel, “We saw your Pegasus in Rivendell, you have both?”
You nodded and giggled, “I’ll see if I can lure one out when we are at the stables.”
Thranduil, “Thengel and his Men would love that. They spent nearly an hour asking Lindir about your Pegasus.”
“They aren’t going to try and take them?”
Thranduil shook his head, “Of course not. They would ogle them mercilessly though and relish being in the presence of such awe inspiring creatures.”
You nodded and giggled again offering your hands to the boys, “Let’s go see your ponies.” They cheered and joined you on the walk to the stables.
Along the way you caught the Men from Rohan easing into your path with grins hoping you had wished to check on your gifts this morning. Passing through the final doorway you asked Thengel, “So I hear you were asking about our Pegasus?”
He nodded eagerly with a light in his eyes that rippled through his Mens’, “Yes.”
You nodded and the boys hurried to the pen their ponies were in as you popped away making the Men turn inspecting where you had gone to only to see you return a few moments later asking with a grin as you swallowed your brownie from the plate in your hands coated with fruit and another brownie, “The party is still going?”
Thranduil nodded with a grin, “Of course. Most of our parties do last well into the second day.”
You nodded, “Good to know.” You set the plate on the fence post then popped away again making the Men look to your husbands. A few minutes after Legolas guided the boys in brushing their ponies your doorway appeared and through it a curious Pegasus passed through eyeing the Men all gasping at its arrival. Though that only led to their stunned silence at the Unicorn following after it shimmering in the early sunlight. Moving to the fence you claimed the plate again offering a slice of fruit to the Unicorn first only for it to circle around you shyly at the attention from the strangers eyeing her.
Tumblr media
Haughtily the Pegasus shook its head then bobbed it towards you demanding a slice of apple you floated towards it saying, “You do have to be careful with them, they like to bite.” Their mouths opened only to snap shut at the fangs revealed as it chomped down on the fruit, “Fangless breeds rarely tolerate people. Live up in the cliffs out of reach.”
With a grin you turned to offer more peaches to the Unicorn peering over your shoulder, “And Unicorns, rarely come out at all, but Tibby here was found as a filly and raised by a friend of mine at Hogwarts. Still shy but for small bursts she’ll let the students inspect her for lessons.”
At the sight of the mythical beasts the boys hurried over only to pause peering up at them only to giggle at being allowed to stroke their snouts until Denethor’s arrival sent Tibby back through the doorway at reaching her limit on people staring after she finished off the peach you offered her. Behind her the Pegasus followed whacking Thengel in the arm with his tail making him chuckle then turn to the pen asking softly, “Where is the mare?”
Passing through the stables he went to find her as you watched the boys hurry back to their ponies as Glorfindel and Thranduil commented on how shy Tibby was compared to the arrogant Pegasus. Finally your mare finished off her extra helping of breakfast as you finished your second brownie you smiled at the timid speckled mare entering the pen eyeing you wondering why you were so small compared to the men. Thengel stroked her neck then eyed one of his Men passing you a bridle and let out a chuckle at your puzzled expression. Reaching out he helped hold it up right side up and guided her into it showing you how to gently secure it.
Next a saddle was brought out and you giggled seeing the heavy leather creation resting so easily in his palms making you mumble, “I am living in a world of giants…” Making him chuckle again easing the saddle over her back while Thranduil went to saddle Tuo and Glorfindel accepted his saddled horse from Legolas as he led his out.
Gently you stroked her side as he straightened the straps feeling her eyes on you while you watched him guide you in how tightly to secure them. Thankfully she was a bit shorter than Tuo allowing you to jest barely be able to reach the stirrup while Glorfindel gripped your hips making you giggle as he whispered, “Think tall thoughts.” Your hand rested above your head on the knot and you nipped at your lip as he raised you up and kept you steady in the shifting stirrup while you swung your leg over. Settling onto it you eased your other foot into the other stirrup then glanced down at the boys already on their ponies grinning at their first trotting steps towards the path as Thengel opened the pen.
At your side on Tuo Thranduil reached over adjusting the reigns in your palms while Tuo spoke to your mare explaining why you were so nervous on her back easing her own nerves in response. With a chuckle Thengel stated “Enjoy your ride.” You nodded and watched him walk back to the party for more food as you were slowly following the eager ponies following Legolas and Glorfindel.
The ride lasted for the circular path until you got back to the stables freeing the steeds back to grazing, though softly after you freed your mare from her saddle and bridle you thanked her and made sure you weren’t tugging her reigns too hard. A question softening her worries about what she had heard of how her grandparents were treated by the Easterlings, something far from you clearly caring for her well being and security as you learned to trust one another. She walked off to find her next supply of food she heard Thranduil order for both her and Tuo in your place swinging her tail contently at who she had been placed in the care of.

A pulsing crystal appeared in front of you as you and the boys were snacking on more of the left over desserts before you mumbled, “Mmm, Thorin.”
Glorfindel chuckled as Taule stated, “You go, I will watch the Princes.”
You nodded and crouched down kissing their stuffed cheeks then rose and turned to lead your husbands through your doorway after sending the crystal to Thorin. Around you the Chamber of Secrets grew and you led the pair back to your office where you collected a small stack of books and levitated the cauldron with the bright pink fur over the top waving as the mixture gurgled underneath. Along the way to the now changed doorway you collected a pack of tools from the desk and made for the door that closed and opened revealing the rushing Durins flooding into Thorin’s apartment.
Smiles grew on their faces as they all peered into the odd mixture in the cauldron in your path into Thorin’s bedroom. Anxiously Thorin was rubbing his palms together then met your eyes as you said, “You’ll want to remove your belt and boots if possible.”
He nodded and followed your suggestion as Fred and George popped up helping to unroll the set of tools while you set the books on the table beside Thorin’s bed. Dis eyed the books asking, “You require manuals for this”
You shook your head, “No. These are for Thorin.” Your eyes locked with his, “One for basic anatomy, tips on proper hygiene and the final one is mainly for reproduction and sexual responses.”
Thorin timidly repeated, “Sexual, responses?”
You grinned at him claiming the first tool, a hook with a slotted spoon in your other hand. You peeled the top layer of fur back Fred eased with another hook into a jar then capped it before it started giving off a pink gas leaving the fur melting into a layer of shimmering slime as you raised an avocado looking ball and swapped the hook for a scalpel George handed you to slice around the middle of it. “Our anatomies are vastly different. I am not certain if you have manuals on sexual responses in your culture or if yours match ours, but if they do then that book would help you get better acquainted with your new body and its responses.” He wet his lips, “You being intimate with Bilbo in this body will be vastly different as a Dam, the way we feel things the way or bodies respond are different. Even when you’re alone, self pleasure is a bit different than your current grip and tug situation.”
A blush grew on his cheeks and Dis opened the final manual, “Thank you. It was getting a bit difficult to explain that subject to them.”
“Oh, I will warn you, they are Wizard books, so the illustrations might move.” As you said that Dis gasped at one of them and closed the book tilting it out of Fili and Kili’s sight. “I assure you it is all scientific, not lewd.” Her eyes moved to the cup George slid the top half of the kiwi appearing assumed fruit giving off a scent of pears into a small bowl as you took a small spoon to scoop out the apparent skinless grape then offered it to Thorin, “This will taste bitter, try to chew it ten times then swallow.”
He nodded following the order only to pucker almost instantly at the taste, chewing painfully slowly he got to ten then swallowed watching as you held out the lower half to add to the bowl from George that shifted to a liquid as well you offered to him, “Swish it around in your mouth then swallow.” He nodded and drew in a deep breath and raised the bowl to his lips and clamped his eyes shut emptying the bowl to begrudgingly swish the mixture around then swallow it in as large gulps as he could manage.
Wetting your lips you set the bowl in George’s palm then led Thorin to bed where you sat down and acted as his pillow folding your arms across his chest saying softly, “Just remember, deep breaths as often as you can manage and squeeze my hands and arms as hard as you need to.”
Around you Fred and George summoned the chairs from the other room to set on either side of the bed simply stating, “You’ll need them.” Everyone settled into them as Bilbo sat beside the bed in the closest ones while Thorin mumbled, “My skin is tingling.”
You nodded, “That’s the first sign it’s working properly.”
He nodded and closed his eyes for a deep breath as he felt his chest tightening only to have his eyes shoot open with a groan at the loud crack of his breastbone cracking that made Bilbo flinch while the others couldn’t help but glance away. Instantly his hands gripped your forearms tightly as the cracks spread over his shoulders visibly contorting them under his shirt as you mentally whispered, “Muffliato,” silencing his pained sounds from the group with only the Twins, Thranduil and Glorfindel looking on still bearing pained expressions.
Each bone seemed to be breaking while his muscles tore then melded back together into their new shapes as Fred eyed Dain at his asking, “Does she feel that much pain when she shifts?”
Fred shook his head, “No. Morpher’s bones, well they shift to a near jelly and then harden into their new shapes.”
George, “For the rest of us there are a few options, all temporary but no less painful. The bones have to be broken, muscles reformed into the new shapes.” His hand settled on Bilbo’s shoulder to crouch down beside him peering up at you softly whispering to Thorin, “It only lasts a couple minutes. Well worth it.”
Bilbo’s teary eyes fell on his, “I, can’t-..”
George grinned at him patting his hands wringing on his lap, “Honestly first time Fred and I made a polyjuice potion we took it in turns. I nearly passed out seeing him shift and he threw up seeing me change. But we got used to it after the fifth time or so.” Bilbo sniffled as he smiled saying, “It hurts watching our loved ones in pain. Even more so when it could easily have been avoided.”
Fred joined him adding his hand to theirs, “You are going to have a baby. Possibly dozens. Trust me, this pain will fade the moment it’s confirmed he’s expecting.”
They turned again to see Thorin breathing steadily in your arms far more relaxed as the shift ended, and you whispered, “Another deep breath.” He inhaled, “Through the worst of it now.”
His hands released your arms now bearing red patches freeing you to ease them over his shoulders in testing squeezes down his arms while Thorin inspected his hands seeming a bit thinner. Lowering your cone of silence you shifted out from behind him freeing Bilbo to sit behind him to cuddle with and kiss him and you to move between Thorin’s legs you raised up one at a time inspecting each of his joints. In a peek under the neck of his shirt he grinned then peered up at you as you felt the realignment of his hips bringing his attention to the shift below his waist, “Hmm.”
You giggled grinning up at him, “It’ll feel different for a while.” He nodded, “I think we’ll give you a week to relax to it before we start on the fertility potions, if you still want them.”
He nodded, “Yes.”
You wet your lips accepting his hands to test his movement in those as well, “Oh, I wanted to tell you. Those potions with our people do tend to drastically cut pregnancies down.”
His brow rose, “I don’t understand.”
“We normally carry nine months but with the potions the longest we’ve had was five months.”
Thorin let out a stunned breath as Bilbo said, “Well Dwarves are pregnant for up to four years, so if it cuts it in half then we’ll still have two years to prep.”
“I just wanted you to know. We aren’t certain with our own people so we prep quickly, and with the differences in our races it would be best to do the same possibly.”
Thorin nodded then grinned again claiming your hand, “I can never thank you enough. We, never can. First our home, now this.” Wetting his lips he shifted his legs to the end of the bed where Dis, Diaa and Niro grinned nearing him claiming hugs stealing a feel of his hidden figure.
Diaa, “Now, we have to get you into better fitting clothes to show off the shift.” Thorin nodded then turned to claim a kiss from Bilbo then turned to redress with the females of his line in his closet as Thranduil chuckled offering Bilbo a wrapped packet matching the one Glorfindel handed him, bringing a curious grin to his face accepting and opening it.
Thranduil, “It is tradition with our people to give seeds in hopes of a fruitful union.”
Bilbo’s grin grew and he nodded his head eyeing the paintings of the flowers on each of the inner packets holding rare flowers, “Thank you. Our kin share that tradition.”
A few moments later as you sent your cauldron back to your office then turned to see Thorin proudly exiting his closet. Fully crowned in better fitting pants and a deep blue golden edged shirt under a hugging vest with a sash around his waist accentuating his pronounced bust and wider hips then added his boots again offering his hand to Bilbo. “My Love, now we show off the results.”
Bilbo couldn’t help but grin at the seeming glistening dark hair and beard on his Love’s face that seemed a bit more slender but not that much changed. He hopped up accepting help into his fur vest from Frerin then folded his hand in Thorin’s as you eased off their bed to Thranduil and Glorfindel’s sides where they eyed the bruises starting to form on your arms in your walk after the Durins.
Atop an overlooking balcony you watched the Durins pass through the crowding Dwarves with an easy smile at the excited compliments on his successful change between eager glances up at you from couples wishing for the same aid. Blindly Fred opened the cylinder he pulled from his pocket he held in front of you, with two fingers you claimed a swipe and smoothed it over the bruises before he pocketed it again then joined George in popping off to check in on Dudley on his first shift with Ginny. Glorfindel leaned down to kiss your cheek sweetly then purred, “You are incredible, my Love.”
With a sigh you brushed your hair from your face you folded between the men wrapping around you as Thranduil stole a peck on your forehead, “Do you think there’s any of those fruit stacks left?”
Thranduil grinned, “If there is not I will have them make you more.”
You nodded, “Good, some of those and a nap I think sounds good.”
Glorfindel chuckled then purred, “Feeding you in bed. Perfection.”
You rolled your eyes and Thranduil added, “I had some wine tucked away as well since you enjoyed it as much as I do.” With a giggle you led them back through your doorway to Thranduil’s bedroom where you climbed onto bed as they darted off to fetch what you wanted making you giggle again.

Side Note: Please don’t ever consider suicide. Please, please get help. There are people who truly care about you, even if you don’t think so.
~
Horrible. That’s how everything was turning out. Horrible. I lost everything. I had no one at this point. I lost them. My friends, my band members. After the group disbanded, they all left to their hometowns. My family, they never wanted me to become an idol. They told me I never was cut out for it. At first, I’d ignore them and think they’re wrong. But, turns out they were right. They’re right about everything. Even my friends agreed with them, and I completely pushed them to the side. They wanted nothing to do with me, and I didn’t blame them. This was my own fault.
I couldn’t stop the tears as they slid down my cheeks. I was on my way home from yet another boring day at work. I lived in a small apartment, by myself. That’s how it’s always been. I’ve always been by myself. I thought, being in the group would be different, and it was. I had come out of my shell a bit, but I quickly returned to it when we disbanded. I should be used to this by now. But it felt so wrong. I didn’t understand how I could deal with being by myself all the time. How I could deal being alone, and not having someone?
I passed the bridge on my way home, glancing out the window to look over at the water. The rail blocked my vision. Sighing, I looked back at the road. If I climbed onto the rail I’d be able to see the water. You can also jump. I swallowed hard as the thought flashed through my mind. No one would care if something happened to me. It’d be like I never existed. People would go on with their daily lives. No one was around the bridge at 10pm. It’d be a perfect time.
I parked my car in the parking lot and got out, making my way into the apartment complex. I entered my apartment. The room was pretty much empty except for my small bed and my unpacked suitcases. I needed to unpack them, but there was no point now. I shrugged off my jacket and tossed it onto my bed. I chewed on my lip as I looked at the time. 8pm. Two hours before the bridge would be clear. I sat down on my bed, slowly.
For the next two hours, I stared at the wall, reminding myself that everything would be over soon.

I made my way to the bridge. The rain was pouring down hard, but I didn’t care. The rain had come around at about 9. It didn’t matter. None of it did. He didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. Everything was going to be over. Maybe then, I will be happy.
I walked onto the bridge. I made it about halfway before I stopped. I climbed onto the railing and sat down, letting my legs dangle. Nervousness flooded through me as I looked at how high the bridge actually was. I tried to shake the thought. It doesn’t matter.
I stared down at the water. I thought of it as, I was going for a swim, only, I wouldn’t be swimming. Jump, just do it. Get it over with.
I started to brace my hands on the rail. “Hello,” I flinched, eyes going wide as a girl’s voice rang out. I snapped my head to the stranger. She was young, younger than me at least. 16 maybe? She stared up at me, curiosity shone in her eyes. “Life’s not going good either?” I swallowed hard, not knowing what to say. She softly sighed before leaning against the railing, staring out at the water. I watched her. “Things aren’t good for me either,” the rain was soaking her hair and clothes. I couldn’t make out what she was wearing in the darkness. “My mother has cancer, my dad gets drunk every night. I have no one to be quite honest. I’ve come here a couple times. But each time, someone has come and stopped me,” why is she telling me this? “Why are you here? What's life like for you?”
I was silent for a minute. But something compelled me to speak. “My band disbanded. My friends all left me. My family wants nothing to do with me. I have no one. I have no reason to live at this point. All my life, I’ve always been by myself. No one ever believed in me. I was bullied as a kid. Nothing good ever happened...” the words started to pour out. “The group I was in, we were like a family. I had people who actually cared about me. They thought I had potential. But after we disbanded, they left and I had no one again. I can’t even call my parents because they truly do not want anything from me. They don’t care. They never did. No one would care if I just jumped at this point,” The girl was silent.
“I care,” my brows furrowed.
“You don’t know me-”
“It doesn’t matter,” she looked over at me. “I still care. I understand what you’re going through. I was bullied in school too. I don’t have many friends. My dad doesn’t care about me. I have no one too. We’re similar. We think no one cares but in reality, people do. I care about you,” I was appalled. She looked...sincere, genuine?
“I...care about you too,” I mumbled,
“Come down from the railing. I want to actually see your face,” she softly laughed. I hesitated, glancing at the water once again. A part of me still wanted to jump but, something was compelling me not to. I swallowed hard before looking away from the water. I swung my legs over the edge and hopped down onto the concrete. I stood in front of the girl. She gave me a bright smile. Slowly, I felt myself return the smile. “You’re cute,” my face grew warm. “I’m Darcy,” she stuck out a hand. I gently grasped her hand. Her skin was smooth, but her hand was smaller compared to mine.
“Dongwon,” I softly said. The rain had started to lighten up a bit.
“Why don’t we go get a coffee? Get to know each other,” I smiled and nodded. She grinned and started leading me to the coffee shop, her hand still holding mine.
It was on this day, that I actually found purpose in life again And it was because of this girl named Darcy.

Sleepover
My slumber was interrupted by the harsh ring of my phone. I slowly opened my eyes to the dark bedroom, slivers of light made their way through the window blinds to the walls. I felt my bedside table for the noise maker and shielded my eyes to the bright light once I picked it up.
“Clearing,” I said in a tired voice.
“Danny, we’ve got a kidnapping. Need you in right now.” Cragen said in a serious tone.
“On my way.” I replied, somehow instantly out of bed. I pulled on some wrinkled black slacks and buttoned up a blue blouse. I was out of my building in ten minutes and on my way to the precinct.
There was an energy the second I walked into the building. The elevator ride was heavy with anxiety. The doors opened to a busy hallway with people running back and forth to something. The squad room was even busier. The squad had definitely been this busy at four AM before, but this time was different. There weren’t people being booked, or people crying, or strangers yelling. There was one life source focused on one issue.
“Four year old Jeannie Parker was taken from her bed earlier this morning. Parents heard noise around one and went to her bedroom to find the window open and the girl missing. No sign of a struggle.” Benson said as I got to my desk.
“Any suspects so far?” I asked
“The parents can’t think of anyone that would want to take her, and we’ve got no evidence to suggest anyone in particular.” She answered. “We’ve got an Amber Alert out and patrol is canvasing the neighborhood.”
“Patrol found something,” Cragen shouted to the room. Everyone turned their attention to him. “A stuffed animal belonging to the girl was found on the same block as her house in Queens. We don’t think she’s been taken very far away.” The room was buzzing once again when he finished up. “Clearing, Carisi, I need you guys to meet CSU at the crime scene. Benson and Amaro, you go too. Fin and Rollins, I want you guys getting in touch with every bus station, train station, and airport.” Cragen ordered. “I’ll let Barba know what’s going on.” He added.
The Parkers were crying on their couch while a uniformed officer asked them questions.
“Hey, we’ll take it from here.” Benson said to the officer. “I’m Detective Benson and this is Detective Amaro. Do you mind if we ask you a few questions?” Benson asked. The couple nodded, their faces defeated.
“Carisi and I will look at the girl’s room.” I said as we started up the stairs.
The room was pink with flowery drapes and bedding that was still somewhat neat. CSU was dusting for prints on the window frame and around the room. The floor was clean of clutter and all of the surfaces were decorated with toys and knick knacks. Nothing seemed out of place besides the open window and the team investigating.
“No signs of a struggle,” Carisi said, looking at the path from the bed to the window.
“Yeah,” I continued. “It looks like she just left. I bet she knew the kidnapper. She probably went willingly.”
Carisi went to the closet. “One pair of shoes is missing,” He said, gesturing to the empty spot on the shoe rack. “Either she grabbed them herself before she left or the kidnapper got them for her. He wanted her to be comfortable.” He said.
“Does this one feel odd to you?” I asked. “Normally right now I would be thinking it was a parent in a custody battle because she’s taken care of but the parents are still together. Could it be another family member?”
“It does feel odd to me.” Carisis said.
“There is no family,” Amaro said, walking through the door with Benson behind him. “The dad has a brother in Arizona but that’s it. Both sets of grandparents have passed and the mother is an only child.” He explained.
“Is the brother worth looking at?” I asked.
“I don’t think so,” Benson said. “The dad doesn’t talk to him much, but they’re on good terms.”
“The girl has to know this perp,” Carisi said. “Nothing else makes sense. Is there anyone that the girl is close to?”
“She has a babysitter in the neighborhood.” Benson started. “Just a 16 year old girl that watches her on the weekends sometimes, but that’s really it. With no family and her not starting school yet, we really don’t have anyone else to look at.”
Carisi and I went to the sitter’s house two blocks over. It was 9 AM by this time. The sun was out and birds were chirping. It made the day seem even worse, like the universe didn’t know there was a girl missing.
Carisi knocked on the door. A middle aged man answered. “How can I help you?” he asked.
We both showed our badges. “I’m detective Clearing and this is Detective Carisi. Is Sarah here?”
“Yes, what is this about?” He asked.
“We understand that Sarah watches a girl named Jeannie in the neighborhood.” Carisi began. “She was kidnapped this morning and we were hoping that Sarah might be able to help us out.”
“Oh my god, that’s awful.” The man said. “Of course you can talk to her, let me get her from her room.” He walked halfway down the hallway. “Sarah, I need you to come out here please.”
A girl with shoulder length brown hair came into the room. “Hello,” she said, a little confused.
“Hi Sarah,” I said. “We are detectives. We were hoping you could answer some questions about Jeannie Parker.”
“Sure,”  she replied. “Is something wrong?” She asked.
“She was kidnapped this morning.” I explained.
He face went pale. “Oh no, is she okay?”
“We aren’t sure. We were hoping that you could tell us about her.”
“Yes, I’ll help in any way I can.” She answered.
“When was the last time you saw Jeannie?” Carisi started. He was sat leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees.
“Last Saturday,” she answered. “I watched her while the Parkers went out for their anniversary. They made a whole afternoon of it.” She said.
“What did you guys do that day?” I asked.
“We made cupcakes when I first got there. Then we went to the park for a couple hours, then had a movie night. She was in bed by nine.” Sarah said. Her brows were furrowed and her eyes were worried.
“Is there anyone she was close with or anyone that you guys spoke to?” I asked
“There isn’t really anyone in particular. There are a few kids she sees at the park somewhat regularly, but she isn’t really close to any of them.” She said. “I don’t know any of their names, or even their parents’ names.” She added.
“That’s okay.” Carisi said. “Is there anyone else you can think of?” He asked.
“We talk to the manager at the grocery store across the street,” She said. “He always gives Jeannie a balloon.” She explained. “And there’s Damian at the ice cream parlor.” She added. “He’s always very nice.”
“What ice cream parlor?” I asked.
“It’s called Howdy’s.” She answered. “They employ people with disabilities or with mental challenges.” She explained.
“Do you have any reason to think that either of those people would want to hurt Jeannie?” Carisi asked. “Were they ever inappropriate with Jeannie?”
“No, never.” She said. “They were only ever kind to her. Mark, the store manager, gave her balloons but he gives them to all of the children. I think it was to occupy them so they wouldn’t make a mess of the store. And Damian is a lower mental age, so he got along with children better than adults. He functions well, he’s just a little slower.”
“Thank you for your help, Sarah.” I said, standing. I held out my card. “If you think of anything else, please give us a call.”
“Yes, of course.” She took the card. “Please find her.” She said.
Once back at the precinct, the squad gathered around a screen with photos and Jeannie and text. “Have we got anything on the second canvas?” Cragen asked the group.
“Not yet. We got a bit of info from the babysitter that we’re looking into, but I’m not holding out hope.” Rollins answered.
“Where are we on the market manager?” He asked.
“Mark Dixon. 42, married, no record, and has an alibi for the night. Store security footage shows him locking up shop after a late night inventory after Jeannie was already taken.” She explained.
“And the ice cream parlor guy?” He asked.
“Damien Reese, 19, no record.” She answered. “Carisi and Clearing are going to talk to him once his shift at the parlor starts.” She added.
“Okay, you guys go talk to him. I need Fin and Rollins to go to the lab. CSU has something.” Cragen ordered. The group scattered to their tasks, and I walked to the elevator with Carisi.
The doors opened to reveal the Assistant District Attorney. “Hello detectives.” He said. He was wearing a tan overcoat over his dark grey suit. He had a coffee in one can and a briefcase in the other.
“Hey, Barba.” I said. “How’s it going?” I asked.
“I’m just going to get caught up from Cragen on the case.” We switched places with him in the elevator. “Where are you guys headed?” He asked, looking at us from the hallway.
“Talking to a suspect. He works at an ice cream parlor.” Carisi answered.
“Oh bring me back a strawberry cone.” He winked. I gave a small giggle as the doors closed. Carisi and I rode down to the ground floor with small conversation.
“Barba is funnier with you.” Carisi said.
“What?” I asked, definitely confused.
“Barba is funny but he’s funnier around you. I think that he feels that he has to compete with how funny you are, so he really steps up his game.” He explained.
“What made you think of that because what he said wasn’t even funny?” I said.
“I thought it was funny,” Carisi laughed.
The doors opened to the main floor and Carisi and I made our way to the car. I drove.
“Welcome to Howdy’s, how can I help you?” A tall boy with a name tag on his blue apron reading ‘Matt’ asked from behind the counter. He spoke with slight hesitation but had a large smile.
“Hello, is Damien here?” I asked, both Carisi and I showed our badges.
“Whoa,” he said, looking at the badges. “Are those real?” He asked.
“Yes, they are.” I answered.
“That’s so cool.” He said with a smile. “I’ll get Damien for you. He’s in the back.” He said, running quickly to the backroom. He soon walked out with a shorter boy with long curly hair.
“Am I in trouble?” he asked, not looking up. “Matt said the police were here for me.” He still didn’t look up.
“You’re not in trouble Damien,” Carisi said. “We just want to ask you some questions.” He said.
“What about?” He asked, softly.
“Jeannie Parker. Do you know her?” I asked.
He looked up at us finally. “Yes, Jeannie is my friend. I like Jeannie.” He smiled. “Jeannie comes in with Sarah. Jeannie always gets vanilla with sprinkles.” He added.
“Something happened to her this morning.” I started.
“Oh no, is she okay?” He asked.
“We don’t know,” I said. “She was taken from her bedroom by someone.”
He looked back down. “I don’t know anything about that. I don’t know anything.” He said quickly. My phone rang, interrupting us. I gave Carisi a look that said I’d be right back.
“Hello,” I said.
“Clearing, we got something from the crime scene.” Fin said. “CSU found some blue polyester threads. Mostly used for uniforms and aprons.” He said.
“Was there anything else?” I asked.
“Yes, there was a footprint, size 12, with some kind of frosting that was on the bottom of the shoe. Looks like a crushed dessert sprinkle.” He said.
“I think we have our guy.” I said, hanging up.
I returned to the conversation and gave Carisi another look. “ Damien, you said that you and Jeannie are friends. When was the last time you saw her?” I asked.
“Uhhhh, I uh saw her yesterday.” He answered.
“What time did you see her yesterday?” I asked.
“It was when I was walking home from work. I saw her playing through the window. She’s very nice.” He smiled at his shoes. Pretty big. Maybe a size 12.
“Do you know where she is right now?” I asked.
He hesitated. “No I don’t know where she is.” He said unconvincingly.
“Excuse me for one minute, please. I need to make a phone call.” I said, backing away.
“Barba.” The ADA answered.
“Counselor, it’s Clearing. I’m going to need a search warrant for Damien Reese’s home. I think he’s our guy. Get with Benson on  the CSU details, but his apron and shoe size match those found at the crime scene and there were sprinkles which is what Jeannie always got in her ice cream from the store. And he lives on the same block as Jeannie.”
“I’m on it. You’ll have the warrant by the time you get there.” He said. “Best of luck detective.”
I walked back up to Carisi and Damien. “Damien, is Jeannie at your house right now?” I asked.
“She’s not allowed to have sleepovers. She can only play during the day.” He said.
“Did she have a sleepover last night?” I asked him.
“I knew we weren’t supposed to, but we were having fun.”
“Is she at your house right now Damien?” I asked again.
“Yes. She was going to sleep over again tonight.” He said.
Carisi got behind him and handcuffed him. “Damien Reese, you’re under arrest for the kidnapping of Jeannie Parker.” He finished reading Miranda as we got in the car and sped to Damien’s house.
Barba was there with Benson and Amaro with a warrant in hand. “I say there’s probably cause, but here’s a warrant just in case.” He said, handing me the document.
“Let’s go.” I said.
We knocked on the door, but there was no answer. The door was locked, so Carisi gave it a swift kick, breaking it open. We stormed the house, shouting for Jeannie.
“I’ll check the basement.” I said, starting down the stairs. “Jeannie, are you down here? Can you make some noise, sweet heart?” I shouted.
The room was well lit. Wood panelling lined the walls and the floor was covered in green shag carpet. The click of the door to my right startled me.
“Jeannie?” I spoke softly. The girl poked her head out from behind the door. “Oh my god,” I said running to her. “Are you okay?” I asked, picking her up.
“I’m okay,” she said. “Where is Damien? We were going to play dolls.” She said.
Jeannie had been reunited with her parents and Damien had been taken to the station by Carisi. I stood in front of the house with Benson and Barba. “I don;t think the kid knew what he was doing.” I said to Barba.
“He knew that having a sleepover was wrong, but I don’t think he knew that he kidnapped her.” Benson said.
“I’m going to plead him out, I think.” Barba said. “We’ll talk to him more, but I think it’s wrongful imprisonment.” He explained.
“Good work guys,” Benson said. “I’m heading home.”
We both said goodbye to Detective Benson. “You did well on this one, Danny.” Barba turned to me. “It’s always nice when they get home and were never hurt in the first place.” He added.
“Absolutely. Thanks Barba.”
He gave me a pat on the shoulder. “Go get some rest.”
