I'm trying to get into Sailor Moon, and am currently watching Sailor Moon Crystal to skip all the non filler. I watched all the non filler of the original 90s series up to the end of the chibi rose/dark lady arc, and I just wanna know, being two episodes into crystal -

Does Tuxedo Mask only own a single tuxedo and that's his one outfit? He could not not afford anything else? Or does he only own tuxedos? Does he ever get another outfit.

Considering the way that she got her new outfit in Vita Ayala's New Mutants is kind of a Sailor Moon/Magi(k)cal (hah) girl send up, I could totally imagine Illyana getting super into Sailor Moon as a young girl. Seeing girls around her age with similar magical powers without the associated trauma could give her a way to ignore her problems for a little while, and imagine herself in the role of Usagi, fighting evil with her friends (Kitty and the New Mutants) and a cute animal sidekick (Lockheed) without any of the pesky Limbo stuff. And even into her twenties she watches every reboot and does an annual rewatch of the original, which would influence how she manifested her new uniform.

It's also very cute to imagine her buying merch and trying to hide that she likes the traditionally 'girly' show from her friends and family, but she has the whole manga print run on a bookshelf somewhere.

Back in the day, Akuroku was THE Kingdom Hearts ship. I remember on FF.net (this was before Ao3 was created), they were the top pairing at some point. That's right. Even more than Soriku. The Deviantart front page was always full of Akuroku fanart. YouTube had a plethora of Akuroku cosplay skits.

So imagine how odd it is for me, after living through that period, to have my dash full of content where Axel/Lea is married to Isa and Roxas is his son. 😂

How tf is sailor moon smarter than Rey when it comes to weird creepy men hitting on them

Sailor Moon/Usagi is sometimes known for being a bit ditzy, but at least when Demande was creeping on her, she said no and tried to fight back. Let's just say there are...moments in the manga that Reylos would have a field day with by applying them to that godawful ship. 😬 (like screenshot redraws with Rey as Usagi and Kylo as Demande). And Usagi also cares more about the dude who shows her respect and genuinely loves her. Not bad for a 'dumb' girl.

Some distressing news - It's come to light that prominent seiyuu, Toru Furuya, the voice of some iconic anime characters over the years (such as Amuro in Mobile Suit Gundam, Yamcha in Dragon Ball, Kyosuke in Kimagure Orange Road, and Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon) has publicly confessed to not only having an affair with a 37-year-old fan of his, but also for being physically abusive and forcing her to get an abortion. From a post on his Twitter account he apologized to the woman for "hurting her mentally and physically, and apologized to his fans for disappointing them, betraying their trust, and sullying the characters that he voiced." He ended his message stating that he "intends to spend the rest of his remaining life atoning for his mistakes, and is prepared to accept any punishment."
