Choosing the right vehicle recovery service is essential to ensure you get the assistance you need when breaking down on the road. Breakdowns can happen when you least expect them to and can derive from a range of reasons such as deflated tires, using the wrong fuel or a faulty clutch.
Having access to a high-quality replacement vehicle is very important after a breakdown. You will likely need to leave your car in a repair shop, therefore, with the appropriate cover you will be able to keep driving. You should also opt for a vehicle recovery service that provides an alternative means of transport.

there's a message in yellowjackets that really resonates, about what it looks like to "overcome" trauma. you live through something indescribable, you're "rescued" from that thing, and you have a grace period. how long? a week? a month? a year? how long before the world stops giving you grace, how long before the world expects you to give them a pretty little story with a happy little ending so they can stop feeling weird when they look at you, for the way what you've been through makes them feel? how long before you have to be a wife and mother to prove you're fine, or a successful politician, or a respectable nurse. or, how long before they want to see you in the psych ward or rehab so they can frown and ooh and ahh at your failure to assimilate back into a world you can no longer see in the same light? they don't want to help you. they want to watch you. they want to make a feel-good story out of you. a quippy headline. and if they can't, they'll make you their cautionary tale. if you can give them neither, you'd better hide yourself away. everybody asks "what really happened out there?" what was it like how did it feel what did you have to do to survive it? and the answer is there is no answer. it is still happening. it is happening every night in your dreams, it is happening every time you look in the mirror, it is happening over and over and over again forever. hitting the "recovery milestones"–the socially acceptable You Did It life markers such as a successful career, a successful family, a successful whatever the fuck–meeting those marks isn't for you. you don't see the merit in those things anymore. and why would you? you know a different way of living now. it's for the audience who wants to be placated by your okayness or entertained by your insanity, and will not rest until you've given them one or the other. the wilderness may have taken indiscriminately, cruelly, violently. but society is worse. that's the difference between hunger and gluttony. you ate your friends to survive. they are eating you to throw you up to eat you again to complain about how unpalatable you are now. and then they still ask for more.

But what I wanted to say is this: After the period of melancholy is over you will be stronger than before, you will recover your health, & you will find the scenery round you so beautiful that you will want nothing but paint.
— Vincent van Gogh, in a letter to his brother Theo van Gogh, in Arles, France, on September 16, 1888.

Bessel van der Kolk is a psychiatrist who wrote the best selling book “The body keeps the score”. There are 5 points to be made after reading his book.
Lesson 1: The Brain-Body Connection Is Real
When we experience a real or perceived threat, our brain's alarm system gets triggered. This alarm system involves a region of the brain called the amygdala, which Dr. Van der Kolk refers to as the brain's smoke detector.
Lesson 2: Trauma Causes Physical Symptoms
Being trapped in a prolonged state of emotional reactivity might change the way our body functions. According to The Body Keeps the Score, when we are chronically angry or scared, constant muscle tension might lead to spasms, back pain, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia (widespread musculoskeletal pain), and other forms of chronic pain.
Lesson 3: The Mind Is Not Tending To The Present Moment
Being traumatized is not simply a problem of being stuck in the past; it is also a problem of not being fully present in the here and now.
Lesson 4: We Have the Power to Regulate Our Physiology
If our brain activity has been impacted by trauma, our brainwaves are likely less coordinated than they should be. However, dysregulated brainwave patterns are not irreparable: they can be rewired and transformed thanks to a process called neuroplasticity.
Lesson 5: Positive Relationships Are Fundamental To Our Well-Being
As Dr. Van der Kolk states in The Body Keeps the Score, our attachment bonds are our greatest protection against threats. Nothing soothes our fear like a soothing voice or a solid hug from a trusted person.

I was stunned: Tom’s loyalty to the dead was keeping him from living his own life, just as his father’s devotion to his friends had kept him from living. Both father’s and son’s experiences on the battlefield had rendered the rest of their lives irrelevant. How had that happened, and what could we do about it? That morning I realized I would probably spend the rest of my professional life trying to unravel the mysteries of trauma. How do horrific experiences cause people to become hopelessly stuck in the past? What happens in people’s minds and brains that keeps them frozen, trapped in a place they desperately wish to escape?
The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma - Bessel van der Kolk

Not to sound pretentious but I don’t think regular people deserve to own Starry Night-themed things without understanding at least a basic history of Vincent Van Gogh. At the very least they should be required to know he painted that piece from memory while in a mental ward, on meds, getting help for his bipolar and depression and actually healing. You should not be allowed to own a single stitch of Van Gogh-themed memorabilia until you thoroughly understand that.

The family went to see the Beyond Van Gogh Exhibit. I loved it. It was wonderful and I recommend it.
I felt like I was in a dream. It was mesmerizing and even made me tearful at some points - stirring emotions.
The only thing that sucked was my pain. I can’t stand in one spot or sit (without a backing) for very long and I was in absolute brutal agony after an hour. (We got through the show in about an hour and 15 minutes.) I should have had a wheelchair. Anyway, live and learn. I’ve been still averaging only about 2-3 mg’s of hydromorphone a day which is hardly anything for someone in my situation. I need to not hesitate to take more if needed.
Anyway, seeing Van Gogh’s art come alive was really cool. It was worth the pain. lol. The accompanying music was perfect. The whole family really enjoyed the experience.

There was a lot to read but it was written in a thoughtful and inspiring manner. There’s a few things I didn’t know about him and his work and am interested to read more. He had quite the life.
After the show, we went for dinner. I had a vegan rice bowl which was surprisingly delicious. I tend to hesitate on ordering vegan dishes because they’re often disappointing gross.
Tomorrow will be a long day. I have a CT scan (with contrast - yuck) and then will be bussing into the city (to another hospital) for some respiratory function testing right after. Aside from maybe walking to the local cafe, I don’t plan to go anywhere for the next 4 or 5 days. I need to recuperate and get back to a routine. My sister and niece will be heading home this weekend.
I have a cup of peppermint tea beside me and am contemplating a movie or a book. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. ☺️
