I understand the theory that Sydney will revive Eli to track down Victor in theory but like. Idk I don't entirely buy it
It was mentioned that Sydney has an invisible string that is attached to everything she revives so if she Really wanted to track down Victor she could probably do it a lot safer that way
And also the fact that Eli is immortal. That time in Haverty's lab was their One Shot to make sure he was gone for good. Reviving him runs the risk of literally never having that opportunity again. Sydney might be desperate, but I still think she'd understand that the risks vastly outweigh the benefits in that case.
I've seen a couple different interpretations/theories on this which I'll speak on now
I saw one fic where Sydney did revive Eli, but she deliberately botched it in a way that screwed with his powers. This is an interesting idea. It would be cool to explore. I think it's the only scenario in which Sydney would agree to revive Eli.
I saw another where the serum just wore off over time and once it left his system his body slowly repaired itself and he came back to life on his own, which sounds kind of boring but I still think there are interesting things that can be done with it. It definitely seems plausible. Eli's dead, sure, but we've seen him regrow hearts and presumably brains, so being dead isn't exactly a guaranteed thing. We don't know if there's a limit to how long he can be "dead" before his regeneration stops working. We still don't even know if Victor's illness will ever permanently kill him. It's pretty likely it will, but he exceeded the amount of time needed for brain function to completely shut down and still lived, so we don't know for sure, and if brain function was a prerequisite to Eli's powers working then all they'd have to do is shoot him in the head to kill him. There's definitely problems with this theory, and I don't entirely buy it either, but it's an interesting thought.
But yeah in conclusion I don't think Sydney would run the risk of reviving Eli without at least Some kind of failsafe, if at all. If I end up being wrong you can tell me to eat my words lol

I said it around this time last season and I’ll say it again this season: Arsenal can win the league. Will they? Hard to say, I still think they need more goals in the team but let’s see where they are after the winter window. They definitely need to strengthen defensively and offensively. A solid left back and an impactful winger are my moves. Personally, I think they should’ve made a play for someone like Osimhen in the summer. But to get across the line, they definitely need a winger that’ll produce. 🧐

You know something that would be really cool if it happened in Victorious?
Victor going back to the Vale estate.
Think about it; maybe he needs a place to lay low for a bit while hiding from EON or whatever antagonist will show up- somewhere he won’t be expected. The estate’s empty most of the time anyway and he’s familiar enough with it to sneak in easily. Maybe he even checks to see if his parents are on tour first. It could lead to some cool flashback chapters (still got my fingers crossed for those, it’s Vic’s turn for some pre-college scenes), some fun gloomy brooding, and perhaps even a confrontation if the manor turns out to be less empty then he thought...

just fyi that big peter post doesn’t cover every little detail, just the big stuff. peter’s a character, not even a canonical one yet, so i’m probably gonna be talking about him for a while. that’s like trying to summarize every little detail about one of the party members in one post lmao

That response to my “Vecna being The First Flayed” theory has me thinking now. At first I thought that The Mind Flayer represented Asmodeus, as he and Vecna in canon are allied and Vecna is permitted to use his minions.
Tumblr media
Then you brought up the psychological leak and I thought a bit more, which led me to the conclusion that The Mind Flayer could represent The Shadow Queen. He and his “minions” are the only beings I can think of that can cross over to our world with little effort.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I’m thinking it’s a mix of both. Vecna may be trying to gain a servant/pact in Max so he can hold more power than The Mind Flayer and then maybe betray it from there? If that’s possible, anyway. Right now my theory here isn’t really fleshed out, but I think it’s a strong possibility with his roots in DND. What do you think?
First of all, thanks for the ask. This is some really interesting stuff that would definitely fit into the show's lore. The thing that stood out most to me was just how similar the queen sounds to the mind flayer. Jealous of the ability to tap into the flow of souls and to harvest knowledge? This definitely sounds like a euphemism for flaying. Especially with the fact the minions can cross worlds like we saw Will and Billy do.
Whilst this may not fit in with the show's D&D lore, the game has always been used more as a stimulus for the monsters in the show and less of a strict guide, so I absolutely believe this could be possible.
You mentioned in your ask that you believe Vecna could have been using Max to get more power than the mind flayer in order to betray him. However, I don't necessarily think this has to be the case. I think he is using her for power, but I think he will already be more powerful than the mind flayer. We saw the mind flayer die at the end of S3 and I think that maybe after that, Vecna was able to take over the Upside Down entirely, taking control of the creatures like the Demobats. Or maybe, Vecna tapped into the mind flayer somehow (or just got flayed) and leeched off of its powers until he himself had enough powers to take over the Upside Down. I think by the start of this season, Vecna will already be more powerful than the mind flayer. I mean, he has been stewing in the Upside Down for 20 odd years so he's definitely ready.
I think he'll be leaking into our world as an attempt to take over our dimension just like the mind flayer but using psychological powers in our world and then attacking in his red dream dimension where he is all powerful. I believe that he cannot physically come into our world and I also believe that he is susceptible to attack in the Upside Down, which would explain why he has lots of demobats guarding him. In terms of him possessing Max, I don't think he necessarily intends on killing her as like you said, he could be using her for power. If he can't enter our world, he could be using her as a vessel to do chaos like Creel before her.
Overall, Vecna's rise could definitely be linked to the mind flayer's downfall. This would be really interesting as it would be a direct consequence of the character's actions, which Vecna could and should use against them. Thanks again for the ask, it was a super interesting theory that I've tried to expand on. Hope this answer helped!
