There’s something special about the way Liar Satsuki Can See Death, and Walk to Death treat death.
Of course, death is an incredibly common topic in stories and ever present in our daily lives, but even amongst that - or maybe because of that? - these stand out.
It’s certainly something I’ll need to spend time reflecting on, but these two have felt meaningful to me in a way few others can match.
The best way I can phrase it would be that they have a sort of “empathy towards death”, which I think is not only fascinating, but also really effective (at least for me).
I just think they’re both really special and wanted to gush about them!

I think it’s a wonderful art, describing a piece of media using two to three others, which shouldn’t be too related, and the ones combined should be older than the one they combine into. Say Chainsaw Man is Devilman plus Evangelion. Radiant is Dr. Slump plus One Piece. And Hanako-kun is Princess Tutu plus Higurashi. Bonus points for not choosing the biggest of works as components, but then they wouldn’t work as well as examples.
I’m trying to perfect one of these for Undead Unluck, knowing one of the parts should be Walk to Death. But what is the spunky shōnen manga to balance out that experience? Hunter X Hunter?

i cannot explain how much kristen needs to change her marketing tactic
she keeps going around and saying that cassandra is the goddess of mystery and doubt and the night, but thats not quite true. cassandra is the goddess of finding safety in the unknown. of not being afraid of doubt.
she is the belief that even if you don't know where you are or what to do, if you are lost and alone in a dark forest, there will be something on the other side, and all you have to do is get there. Cassandra is the goddess of staring into the cold, uncaring void and feeling a warm hand clasp your own, of a whisper in your ear saying youre going to be okay. you aren't alone. it is going to be scary and hard and uncertain, but you will never be on your own because i am here with you. you will never be lost because i know where you are
