I had this great realisation that Sneasel sounds mad close to ‚weasel‘ and whoops I went deep into the Japanese folklore of the Kamaitachi, which are lightning fast blade wielding weasels who cut your legs in cold climates.
There‘s a great 16 min youtube podcast that explains the folklore far better. Go show them some love!
Fierce little cat-sized mustelids (members of the weasel family) who rest in trees during the day and hunt small mammals at dusk and nighttime. They are great climbers and usually make dens in tree cavities for raising their kits, but have also been known to use squirrel dreys and birds’ nests. If they fall from a tree they can twist in midair like a cat to land on their feet!

Hey so I don't know much about the situation, I just wanted to share the news, but saveafox is now posting about a baby stoat they rehabbed. I have no experience in animal rehab so I can't say whether they managed the situation appropriately (I think she had a video in the past where she showed off her rehab animals and they were living in her house and getting human contact??) but if anyone has any insight please do share
