Things are getting licensed fast enough that keeping a list like this up-to-date is basically impossible, but I saw someone asking in the tags so I figured I'd try. All titles are danmei unless otherwise noted (very little baihe is licensed so far). I've included Chinese titles and linked novelupdates for each title when I was able to find them, but sometimes publishers change the original titles so much that I can't track them down, apologies.

Basically: this is everything I know of as of April 12, 2024. There might be more. I tried.

There are a handful of titles I know of that are official translations of C Novels, where the C Novels aren't danmei or baihe but are often treated as adjacent within fandom (as in: I've seen people shipping characters from them, lol). I've included two above under the entry for titles from Aloha Comics (Link Click and Nirvana in Fire) and here are a couple others I currently know of:

Note that to the best of my knowledge both of these are considered very substandard translations. I've personally read the official DMBJ translations and... yeah... and I've heard the LOCH translation is also mediocre.

Please don't come at me for including a couple classics. The characters shippable, what can I do? I've written fic for Romance of the Three Kingdoms...

A handful of other licenses are mentioned on the Carrd I linked at the beginning of this post; I have no idea the status of those titles and wasn't able to find information on them while putting together this post other than what was listed on that Carrd, so I've omitted them.

As a final note, I've personally purchased from every printer on this list EXCEPT Monogatari Novels (I'm holding off because of the controversy and will see how things play out) and Chaleuria (which I vaguely knew existed but nothing beyond that).

Seven Seas translation varies but the editing is general strong and the editions are sturdy and nice. Extras that have come with final volumes are lovely. I am buying literally everything they publish except for You've Got Mail, due to information about the author that was shared with me that the author is a transphobe. Note that Kinnporsche by Daemi is not danmei as it's Thai (and I've heard unsavory things about the author - I don't have a link for that as the information was shared with me on Discord, and I encourage you to do your own research rather than taking my word for it). No judgement if you make a different choice than me, to be clear, I'm just sharing the information I have and why I personally am not buying the books). Note that Seven Seas isn't without controversy, especially for treating their contractors poorly resulting in them unionizing. Some people have also been unhappy with the fidelity of their translations compared to the original Chinese (I've been satisfied personally but ymmv).

Peach Flower House has inconsistent inconsistent editing quality, but the books are very readable, and I'm excited that they're working with translators such as E. Danglars. I haven't bought any of their special editions so can't speak to their extras, but I've bought all their print translations and will continue to do so going forward.

I just got my first title from Via Lactea last week and finished reading it on Sunday, and the translation read very well and there were minimal errors. It also came with a bundle of cute extras, which I wasn't expecting and pleased, and writing this post has caused me to cave and spend $150 to buy the rest of their books. Thank you, tax refund. (Should I spend this money? No. Did I anyway? ...)

No Rosmei titles have actually shipped yet, so I can't speak to their quality, though the previews they've shared on social media (as outlined here, for example) read decently and I'm optimistic. The cover art is also lovely, and they've been communicative and responsive, for example they've already issued a statement related to a recent controversy over perceived poor marketing for At the World's Mercy.

Tl:dr, the above is absolutely everything I personally know about mlm and wlw Chinese novels and manhua that have been licensed for English publication. I hope it helps someone.

What are your most and least powerful OCs?

man- This is hard for absolutely no reason, I suppose it depends??

Aeonian (embodiment of death at sea) is probably the gentlest character out of everyone, very unthreatening when they pose as humanoid, but their natural form is also a monolithic eldritch horror so that’s a bit of a 50/50 chance there. Monad (embodiment of life at sea) is really the wrathful one, and ve has some control over sea life (see vague connections to Dionysus) (THE LORE WITH THAT IS SO MUCH DEEPER THAN I CAN GET INTO RIGHT NOW BUT ILL PROBABLY UPDATE IT LATER) (it gets WILD) but she is also considerably smaller than Aeonian and it’s surprisingly difficult to strangle someone with seaweed when you’re leagues away from any sort of body of water.

Locke (Android) (resident antique) is on the verge of physically falling apart constantly, but they are also powered by and contain the collective fear of an entire human race and physically cannot go against xis main directive of protecting this fear, so there are no hold-backsies for them. There’s also the telekinesis thing, which makes it considerably worse

Deimos (physical embodiment of human fear. Huge mouthful, my bad) can’t directly harm anyone per se, but he can scare the shit out of them as basically existing mostly as energy and theoretically could trap one in an enclosure of their own cruel hallucinations - that’s not really his vibe though so you’re probably fine

Logistically, Pi, Eta, Zeta and Epsilon could be defined as the weakest as the only mentioned humans of the lot, but they’re also the main creators of Locke, so what they could have done with their combined efforts if given the time would have been pretty bonkers.

I think it just defines on what your definition of powerful is?? Or maybe I need to branch out more-

he's so INTENSELY fucking gay, he's effete, he swishes, he's One Of The Girls, he puts on every gay trope I've ever seen

he's also the strongest character in my party and hits like a fucking truck, is an incredible support tank-y character, and I think he might've been a Legit Knight once before running away to be a circus performer

and his entire intro mission is him Queer Eyeing some spoiled prince asshole into being a worthwhile man

he can charm everyone regardless of gender and i think he's given a few NPCs their gay awakening

and everyone loves him and calls him Sylv or Sylvie and most importantly I love him

A bit later than intended, but here's the last of the Babbit Analysis (okay, at this just point it's more a recap) of Liu Chang's role in I'm So Pretty.

A quick shot of these two glorious goofs before the cut. Warning, spoilers below

So after all the photography and beauty pageant stuff goes down, Lin Xi wins by the skin of her teeth. (One vote and it apparently came from Song Shiyao's love interest!)

Post win, Lin Xi's father invites all her school friends (all two of them) and Song Qinghe and Shen Haochen to dinner to celebrate.

The woman behind the candles is Lin Xi's elder sister and (as far as I can tell) a card carrying green tea bitch. She's one of the ones who voted for Song Shiyao, claiming Lin Xi wasn't up to the challenge.

As might be expected, Song Shiyao is depressed over her loss and showing it. Lin Xi notices her state of mind, basing her interpretation off of Song Shiyao's makeup, but Song Shiyao pretends not to be bothered.

Song Qinghe, who's been practicing social cues, really, thanks Lin Xi for taking care of his sister.

Lin Xi, who has no problem with stating her opinions without glossing them over, tells him she didn't help Song Shiyao, but that Song Shiyao is pretty much her only friend. This leads into an argument with Lin Xi's elder sister, who uses the chance to stab at her little sister for not being up to snuff.

This, combined with the boyfriend's falling over drunk, leads to a mass exodus from the dining table, leaving Shen Haochen and the other girlfriend to continue eating.

Song Qinghe and Lin Xi end up outside, talking about Lin Xi's sister. He suggests maybe Lin Xi's sister does care about her, after all she vetted him thoroughly before hiring him. Except she points out that her sister did so as a power move, not out of concern for her.

Song Qinghe doesn't get it, but he also doesn't argue. Likely because he just doesn't know or understand any of what's going on here.

This scene is pretty much the last we see of Song Qinghe and Shen Haochen. The rest of the series is a huge contest at the school between various rival camps and involving all sorts of weirdness that I didn't bother watching because these two weren't there.

I figure they sailed off in their ship and are currently testing out excavator equipment of some sort.

Final comment: I feel like this series suffered from too many options, not enough tying things together into a cohesive whole. There was the attempt to be a wild fantastic romp in a surreal almost Utena-like atmosphere, and an attempt to address a serious story of love and betrayal and different families.

It would have been possible to achieve both. I mean, Utena did. But the surreal part seems to have been thrown in as filler and used to complete the story because they didn't have enough primary plot, just lots of subplots that had to be hurriedly tied together.

In the end, I would have enjoyed a story that (1) involved Liu Chang and Wa'er's characters more and (2) focused more on Lin Xi and Song Shiyao's rivalry and friendship. Still, the parts I've covered were fun and I did get something out of it, since Cloneverse Liu Can did end up a model in much the same way Song Qinghe does.

There's a world full of unknown creatures all around us. Diamond Ridge University is a private college right outside of Transylvania, Romania. It was one of the richest private schools in the world. Diamond Ridge University was also a college for the supernatural beings like Witches, werewolves, vampires and all the others. When humans started going to the college they had to hide their true selves. The witches and wizards made potions that would turn them into humans masking their real appearances. There are about a total of 20 sororities and fraternities combined. There are 6 big Sororities which include The Rho Delta Nu, The Alpha Nu Zeta, The Alpha Delta Xi, The Psi Kappa Chi, The Rho Pi Phi, and The Sigma Eta Gamma Sorority.

Y/N's Pov:

After I had graduated from Oakland Highschool I decided to wait and take some time to myself before I went to college. I had gotten a scholarship to Diamond Ridge University but I had called the University to see if I was able to apply the following year and they said it was alright. I had traveled around the world learning about all the different cultures before I headed back to my hometown Transylvania, Romania.

I was finally standing in front of Diamond Ridge University and might I say it was such a beautiful place. I felt eyes on me so I looked around to see everyone looking at me. I gulped as I started walking towards the front entrance. I looked around the courtyard and saw a group talking not too far from where I was standing. "Excuse me" I said as I approached them. The red head had turned around and I was starstruck at how gorgeous she was. She had emerald green eyes and blood red hair that went down just past her shoulders with the tips of it blonde. "Can we help you" she said in an annoyed tone and I was about to say something when I was pulled away. "Sorry Natasha she's new here" I heard a boy say and I just frowned in confusion. She looked at me smirking before she turned around and left with the group. I turned around to see a boy with brown hair standing there. "What the hell was that for" I said and he waved his hands. "You should thank me I just saved your life the red head was the leader of one of the top 6 Sororities in this college" he said and I just rolled my eyes. "She can't be that bad" I said and he frowned as he stayed quiet. "Oh" I said and he held his hand out. "I'm Peter Parker by the way and you must be Y/N Y/L/N am I correct" he asked and I nodded before shaking his hand.

"Well it's nice to meet you, do you need help finding the Headmaster's office" he asked and I nodded my head. "Alright come on then" he said and started walking away so I followed him. We walked into school and I was immediately pulled aside. "Let's be friends" I heard a girl say and I looked up to see a blonde haired girl with blue eyes standing right next to me. "Oh uh I- uh" I just shut my mouth when I heard footsteps. "Alice let her go you're scaring her" I heard Peter say and I just kept quiet as the girl let go of me. "Didn't mean to scare ya" she said and I just smiled softly. "It's alright you didn't scare me it was just a surprise is all" I said and she smiled back.

"So where are you going" she said and Peter told her the Headmaster's office. "Oh so you're the new girl Y/N right" she said and I nodded. "Well then I'll tag along" she said before smiling while rocking back on her heels.

They showed me to the Headmaster's office and I was about to knock when the door flew open. I looked up to see a blonde woman with chestnut skin and emerald green eyes. She was wearing a tank top so I could see her defined and toned muscles which made me gulp.

"Aren't you going to move out of the way" I heard her say and I immediately stepped aside. As she walked past us I had gotten a whiff of wood and rain. "You must be the new student correct" I heard a man say and I looked back over and into the office to see a black haired man leaning against the Headmaster's desk. I walked in after nodding and he smiled softly. "It's nice to finally meet you I'm Bruce Wayne the Headmaster of this college" he said holding his hand out. I shook his hand before he asked me to sit down.

After we talked for a while he stood up before handing me my schedule and dorm key. "Your dorm room is number 50 on the 5th floor alright" he said and I nodded before saying thank you. I left his office and didn't see Peter or Alice anywhere so I'm assuming they went to class.

I walked out of the main building and started heading towards the dorm building. I Walked into the building and went to the elevator. Tomorrow I started classes so it was going to be a long day.

Just FYI, I am literally dreading starting today’s eps of Heroes and procrastinating because I just know Su Meng Zhen will die today and I can’t bear it!

He’s my favorite drama character of 2022 and I just can’t!

ETA: at least Heroes gave me perfect casting for in my head adaptation of Yuwu - because I cannot imagine anyone more perfect for Mo Xi than Liu Yuning, with that combo of upper class elegance, nervy intensity, killer edge, and height. And in my casting, Baron Chen can be Gu Mang - the height difference is perfect and age difference is on point (I mean it’s a greater irl difference but Baron looks way younger than his actual age so the visual age difference is on point) and the whole combo of fragility and laid back manner and perfect looks that can turn terrifying on a dime - perfect for the Beast of the Altar. Plus, few suffer as gorgeously. And they have excellent chemistry in both hero worship and resentment parts (hero worship turning to love turning to heartbreak to resentment while still not being able to stop loving to repentance and love and just - they would be perfect since some of that totally happened in Heroes.)
