hello tumblr, I'm sorry I've been a little quiet lately, I'm trying to get out of my 2023 burnout and into a better 2024!
I made these lil "thank you" arts for my bluesky (bsky.app/profile/sephiramy.bsky.social) and thought, why not share them here, also?

The Yuan-ti as a broad concept is full of interesting potential. However, Wizards of the Coast’s approach to the concept is heavily steeped in racism against Indigenous peoples of what is today considered Latin America—especially in particular, the Maya. The goal of this rewrite is to retain the Mayan coding while being more respectful of the real life people inspiration is drawn from.
An important note: While I am an Indigenous person myself, I am not specifically Mayan; I’m Mi’kmaw. As such, if there is any Mayan person reading this who has critique of my work, please feel free to express it, as I would greatly appreciate this.
My source of canon lore is the 5E books, Volo’s Guide to Monsters and Monsters of the Multiverse. I also took a little bit from the fanmade Forgotten Realms wiki, which as far as I’m able to judge, mostly consists of 3E lore.

Yuan-ti Anathema. The 25 ft (7.6 m) many-headed snake that is the pinnacle of Yuan-ti kind. They magically terrify everything around them, turn into a snake, transform people into animals, magically restrain, physically restrain with thier massive body, and manipulate your mind and fears. They've as intelligent, charasmatic, and observant as they are strong. Which is a hell of a thing to say about a creature that could overpower an elephant. They're viewed as fledgling gods and are aggressive/ambitious as they attempt to close the gap to a proper god. If you want to take a risk on demigod snake overlord, shoot your shot!

My players finally came face to face with the big bad of this arc of the D&D campaign - Na'Dir, the Sable Serpent, chosen of the blood god!  Needless to say... I'm thrilled

Alti belongs to @sephiramy
I do not know if their quip here is character-accurate, but it is spiritually true. They have their finger on the pulse of the crew, and know when to pay them an extra $400 hazard pay whenever we fight a godzilla.

you may have seen the prior wardrobe lineup for my yuan-ti college of swords bard Alti floating around, but the party is now level 9!!! and I decided to refine and condense their core outfits, as well as integrating their magical items into their main combat armor, including: cloak of displacement, cloak of the manta ray, a +2 silvered scimitar, a +1 buckler shield, and +1 studded leather armor with adamantine studs!
they also have a pair of homebrew rings for raising dexterity, the rings of unerring accuracy, which they pretty much never remove, haha... our DM has been very generous with equipment, and that is very lucky seeing as our party is pretty regularly in trouble, lol

Yuan-ti Nightmare Speaker! Like the snake version of a centaur! These sadistic half-blood yuanti follow the Nightmare Serpent, reveling in causing terror and tormenting victims. They can change into snakes, manifest illusions of your greatest fears, and use magic to spread fear and darkness (and mage hand). So fun fact, Volo's Guide says they're exclusively female priests, but the MPMM makes no mention of that. That book rewrote a lot of lore, so I guess it's changed? And yeah, snake bottom half. meaning dual cloacal extensions for double-clit or double...you know I've been saying dick, but do you have any idea how many different shapes snake genitals can take? Spiked clubs, masses of semi-stiff fronds, sky's the limit. I'm just saying that all these furry toy shops need to take a look at snake junk for thier designs.
