we sent a message to a finnish acappella group we didn't know still existed (we ran across them by accident on bandcamp) saying how much we love them, and we got the sweetest reply back from them
Oh, thank you for your message!
I forwarded your it to other band members.
All the best,
anyway it's MeNaiset, who existed long before the current women's magazine with the same name (it means "us girls")
(link za pjesmu) Tuga. Bol. Strah. Patnja.
I suspect that relatively few of my followers would count themselves as Country Music Fans, but I suspect this video would appeal to many here, anyway, on account of the fact that it’s LARPing Dungeons and Dragons, and expressing general nerdy silliness.
And I’ve been posting some pretty heavy subjects, lately. So here’s a mood shift.
Auto-generated captions. So here are the lyrics:
Brother (Written by Bear and Bo Rinehart)
Ramblers in the wilderness
And we can't find what we need
We get a little restless from the searching
Get a little worn down in between
Like a bull chasing the matador
Is a man left to his own schemes
Everybody needs someone beside 'em
Shining like a lighthouse from the sea
[Chorus]
Oh brother, let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call when you're low
Oh brother, let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way, bring you home
Face down in the desert now
There's a cage locked around my heart
I found a way to drop the keys where my failures were
Now my hands can't reach that far
I ain't made for a rivalry
I could never take the world alone
I know that in my weakness I am strong
But it's your love that brings me home
[Chorus]
Oh brother, let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call when you're low
Oh brother, let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way, bring you home
[Bridge]
And when you call and need me near
Sayin' where'd you go?
Brother, I'm right here (I'm right here)
And on those days when the sky begins to fall
You're the blood of my blood (blood of my blood)
We can get through it all
Brother, brother
We can get through, get through it all
[Chorus]
Brother, let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
Let me be the one you call when you're feeling low
Oh brother, let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way, bring you home
Oh brother, let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call when you're low
Oh brother, let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way, bring you home
Be the one to light the way, bring you home
The vocal skeleton of the track "Alright". I guess it's time to finally finish this one and release it in 2023. Recording the harmonies and background vocals is my favorite part of the process. 🎙️🗣️🎶🎼🎧🎚️ #inthelab #makingthealbum #earlharvillemuzic #singer #songwriter #vocalarranger #vocalathlete #iloveharmonies #acappella #ilovebackgroundvocals #letbaritonesbegreat #bassbaritone #realmensingmezzo #countertenor #earlsgayagenda #blackmusicians #gaymusicians #blackandgay https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm8Lks1MQsX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

i went off a bit ago about music directing for acappella. anyway long story short, someone else decided they wanted to run too, and we finally had the election today, like three weeks later. i didn't think i was going to win, but i did. i'm happy, but kind of confused, because honestly the other person was more qualified. but we talked and it was nice, and we decided that either way we were really happy for eachother, and she's going to run next year. i'm excited to work with her eventually. i just feel. really weird. idk. my sibling tells me that this is the anxiety speaking, that i should be proud and that i deserve it, but tbh rn i just feel like somehow i conned the whole group into voting me in, when it should have been the other person. i'm scared that i got excited and oversold myself, and everybody's going to realize as soon as i actually start directing. i don't know. it was also such a long discussion that the group had before final vote, and it was a hard decision apparently. which just makes me think, what were they talking about? like, i know how discussions about musical auditions go- we talk about tone and range and pitch accuracy. but how do you spend so long talking about a role like music director. like i thought it would be a quick confirmation of experience and qualifications, and then the other person would be picked immediately. like, what about us took literally a half an hour to talk about and decide on? it's just a weird thing to think about i guess.
