#oceandi speaks #po town #shady house #team skull #I was going to try to make this in acnh but I really don't think it's possible #even with partitions.... there's too much stuff #also I had forgotten how totally messed up po town was in my head it's been cleaned to the point of functioning for years #obviously they kept the painted artwork but the shelves and beds and boxes got all organized and they got the power back and groudon just #lives there. in the backyard. so it's not raining constantly but sometimes #no broken glass all the doors and windows fixed but roof access much easier without all the holes in it lol #the bones of the house were fine it just needed to get to the point of functioning again. like when you get depression meds lol #the cracks on the outside were just stucco needing to be patched #oh and they sold all the fancy vases just lying around the house. they weren't worth millions but they helped get things started

four years away, and back again

feels like it’s been forever.

i am so dreadfully terrible at long-form blog posts, but nobody really wants to see posted on tumblr the kind of unhinged stream-of-consciousness type microblogging i do prefer to do on twitter.. but i still would like to talk a little bit about what i’ve been up to in my absence.

i opened a patreon. and then a little later, a patron-only discord server.

i moved back to australia. hopefully for good this time-- only time will tell on this one, but i have all my fingers and toes crossed.

i moved into @mongoose-bite’s living room for six months (thank you, again), then i moved out.

i grew my natural hair out. by which i mean i chopped all the silver off, and didn’t bother to re-touch the fresh growth.

i didn’t catch covid, but i also didn’t manage to catch a job at the height of the pandemic.

i did some commissions to try and keep me afloat for a while at the height of the pandemic. (it didn’t really keep me afloat.)

i streamed on twitch for a while, as well.

i got assessed for ADHD and autism, and came away with medication scripts i still grumble about having to get filled because i have, on more than one occasion already and despite having multiple trackers and alarms for them, forgotten to restock my ritalin until after i had run out.

i got hired as a supermarket cleaner, then a pharmacy assistant, then an administration team lead. i now work in the contact centre of a clinic.

i bought a switch, after much cajoling from some friends, and started playing ACNH. i’m very invested in trying to make my island as aesthetically spooky as possible, and i’m still grumpy that the grass is all so bright and cheerful.

i closed my commissions, and started a waiting list.

i played a lot of dnd. a lot of dnd. at one point it was a “three games in a week” kind of a lot.

i didn’t cut my hair at any point in the last three or so years (save for the undercut portion), so now it’s curly and long and almost halfway down my back. i’m glad i’m allowed to keep it this way for work, but my supervisor also said she would never have recommended me for the role if she knew work would make me cut it-- she really likes my hair.

i still didn’t catch covid, despite it absolutely ripping through supermarket staff at various places for a while last year and having to dodge three or four separate outbreaks at the pharmacy. i haven’t been at the clinic long enough to have to weather any outbreaks there yet.

i paused my patreon. then reopened it. then paused it again. then reopened it. it’s currently still open, but with how social networking sites and social media platforms are going at the moment, i’m hoping to do a bit of a rehaul on how my patreon posts work and tee it up with my ko-fi as well.

i got glasses. six years glasses-free was a good run, and i’m re-learning how to live with them again (and trying not to relearn old bad habits).

i was told my retinas are dangerously thin in some spots, and i run the risk of retinal detachment, which is a little scary. but the optometrist didn’t seem too concerned and just told me to keep an eye on my vision and to get checked up if i notice any new floaters developing.

all in all, life’s pretty okay at the moment. not the most ideal of circumstances, and some days it’s still a huge struggle to exist... but i’m safe, i’m warm, i have a roof over my head and enough money in my bank account to not go hungry, and i’m supported.

i’m loved.

Ooh I can! Which ones are you interested in? Some of the rusty roof / building side designs I have saved from other creators, I’ll see if I can track them down. I made all my sidewalk tiles, crate designs, various shop signs / silly fake advertisements myself. I can try to put something together and post my creator codes!
