Here’s my entry for this year’s AFTG Reverse Big Bang! @aftgreverse

Neil knew how to read every one of Andrew’s minuscule expressions. The way the slightest twitch in his brow denotated amusement, the tiny flare of his nostrils when he got angry, how he blinked ever faster when he was surprised. He’d seen Andrew’s manic, drug-induced smile and his single cold grin when Kevin had come back with his new tattoo, but Neil had never seen Andrew smile out of sheer happiness.

Neil wasn’t sure if most people would classify Andrew’s current expression as a smile. It wasn’t wide or toothy or overtly noticeable, but Andrew’s lips were turned ever-so-slightly up, his eyes crinkled, and Neil knew what this was. Neil’s heart stuttered, and he wished he had Andrew’s eidetic memory so that he could burn this image into his mind forever, write it across the folds of his brain with permanent ink, tattoo it on the back of his eyelids so that he could see it every time he closed his eyes. He drank it all in, trying to commit every tiny detail of Andrew’s face to memory.

I like Ichiro. Not much has been written about him in the books, but the fandom has done the job. He is commanding and elegant. He is intelligent and calculating. He was taught to be unwavering and ruthless. He could have just killed Neil. But he not only listened to him and gave him a chance at life, he treated him as an equal. Ichiro fixed a problem that Kengo had turned a blind eye to for years. Yes, the mafia is bad and they are bad people. But Ichiro deserves to be the new lord.

Time to pick up @/kedreeva 's game again this week!

Did I finish last week's yet? No. Have I barely gotten to last week's asks? Yes. Do I still crave more excuses to write? Of course.

Anyway, rules:

It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.

Here’s how it works:

In a reblog of this post (so people can find you in the notes) or new thread (w/ rules attached) if you want to play on your own, post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.

Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to play!

After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event or gift fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.

Jean was truly grateful that Seth had kept up his training after high school. Without all that weight lifting, he wouldn't have been strong enough to hold Jean back. Certainly not while Riko had still been in their waiting area, and definitely not long enough for Riko to slip through the door.

Jean struggled one last time when Riko gave them a sly wave before making his way across the street, then let Seth push him back into another client chair.

"I'd like you to tell me what the fuck you think you're doing," Seth said, leaning over Jean in a way that kept the window out of Jean's sight.

"I was taking care of a potential client."

"We don't slap clients, Jean. I know you can be pretty thickheaded sometimes, but you're not that stupid. That kind of shit can get you fired, and that's not something you can afford."

Jean stared Seth in the eye, knowing that every word Seth said was true. And yet, he couldn't find it in him to regret his actions.
