Week 7 - Practice - Recording single microphone techniques
For all of our group recording sessions, we chose to use Logic Pro as Isabel had experience using the software.
To record our acoustic guitar sections, Daren set up a microphone stand with an AKG C414 XLS. Daren sat down in the corner of the room with the guitar, and the mic was adjusted until it was 10cm away from the 12th fret of the guitar. Once this was set up, Isabel and I plugged in the microphone, and connected a set of headphones into the control room through the first port so Daren would be able to hear us talk through the console.
Before we started recording, I asked Daren to try playing along to a set metronome. Isabel then adjusted this, and we went back and forth until we found an appropriate bpm. We then asked Daren to play a riff which would be easy to repeat, and Isabel adjusted the trim on the input until it was not peaking (see below).
Tumblr media
I then asked Daren to set the mic to cardioid, and we recorded multiple takes of this to ensure we had a good one for the podcast. For each recording, we made sure to label the track as accurately as possible, as this would make it easier to find each one later on.
After each set of takes, Daren changed the pattern on the microphone, and we repeated this for figure of eight and omnidirectional. When recording the omnidirectional take, we had to turn the trim down by 2 notches to prevent clipping, which we left in place for the remainder of the recordings.
We then repeated this process in the centre of the room, again recording cardioid, figure of eight and omnidirectional patterns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The figure of eight patter produced a far brighter sound, with the omnidirectional featuring more bass - the cardioid lies between these.
This was a good start to the session - I'm saving my final thoughts for the next post, as after this we proceeded to record stereo techniques, however this was a great opportunity to improve my confidence with single mic recording.

the best and most comfortable headphones
Bose QC20 vs QC20i More than my own Bose SoundSport in-ears, albeit not as much as some of the other in-ears I've tested. I still like these over the over-ear QC15/25 because of how little they are and the fact that I can sleep with them on an airplane. I have an Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23BK, an AKG K390NC, and a Phiaton 210BTNC. The Bose 20i are unquestionably the best. After that, I bought the Bose and took them with me on a few international vacations. The Bose 20i are exceptional and unquestionably the best and most comfortable headphones on the market. Due to my wife's snoring this morning brought on by a cold or virus, I was able to look into this. You can hear both white noise and loud snoring when the aware option is turned on. blog #2 - eco-friendly headphone brands!
Tumblr media
April 25th, 2021
When it comes to listening music, using a set of headphones or earbuds can be an essential part of the experience. It gives a more personal and intimate experience with the music.
There is a difference between “earphones” and “headphones”.
“Earphones” or as some people call it “earbuds”, are the ones that go into the inside of your ears whereas headphones are the ones that cover your whole entire ear.
Tumblr media
Now, you must be questioning why I’ve titled the blog as “headphones”. Let me tell you my experience on why I think using headphones is for the better. Before getting into the fine details of how the human ear works and the effect of music on our ears, I’ve been an avid user of the famous earphones many people use.
During my music class at the current college I’m attending in, I learned that “earphones are the fastest way to damage your hearing”. The human ear is an organ that protects and filters sounds. It’s like an acoustic organ that balances the stuff we hear. Because the device is inserted straight into your ear, without letting your whole ear be able to “filter” out the sounds it becomes extremely dangerous after long-term exposure. After hearing that statement it really shook my world. Since then, I’ve been starting to use headphones as much as I can instead of earphones. Headphones on the other hand are much safer than earphones/earbuds. Because the sound plays onto your whole ear and not directly, it lessens the impact when listening to music.
Although not everyone is suited to using headphones, I am focusing this post on headphones since I will be taking into the factor of both the regular consumer as well as those involved in music production/industry.
Since I’m a music creator who creates and have been learning to mix and listen to music, I also took into the interests of both the regular consumers as well as consumers who are involved in the music industry and music creating/mixing whereabouts. I began to look into brands that had eco-friendly headphones while trying to search for some myself. With that in mind, I’ve done some research on eco-friendly/ethical brands that sell headphones.
Here are the top 3 brands I’ve found:
LSTN
House of Marley
Thinksound
Let’s start with...
1. LSTN
Tumblr media
Fave factors about LSTN: gives back to the community, use of sustainable materials, great aesthetic and design
Recommended for: those looking for a good cause with their purchase, sustainability, aesthetics, day-to-day consumer willing to invest more money into their headphones
Price: $$$
The first brand I’ve tried was LSTN. It was around 2017~2018 when I first discovered this brand. I’ve tried the LSTN Avalon Bamboo earphones. I really liked it for its minimal and appealing design as well as the story behind the company. A brief overview of the company & its headphones:
LSTN is a company that gives back to the hearing community, providing people with the abillity to hear music and sounds globally with every purchase made. They partner with The Starkey Hearing Foundation to provide hearing aids to those in need. Their line of headphones(excluding the kids section) use sustainable and reclaimed wood, vegan leather and an aluminum banding.
Currently, LSTN only has wireless headphones available in their headphone line.
The Troubadour - $179.99
The Troubadour 2.0 - $179.99
Features: Wireless connection, 40mm drivers, 32 Ω Impedance, 8+ battery life, Backup cable for wired use, Built-in mic/controls, Vegan leather pads, 30' operating range, Lifetime support
I would say LSTN would fit best for the day-to-day consumer. Even though they have a backup cable for wired use included, I wouldn’t say it’d be perfect for mixing since it was not specifically built for that purpose. One downfactor that would be discouraging is the cost of their headphones. However, their motto and use of materials as well as their aesthetic designs makes it very appealing.
SHOP LSTN’s headphones here: https://lstnsound.com/collections/bluetooth-headphones
2. House Of Marley
Tumblr media
Fave factors of House of Marley: Has the most relatively cheaper options, use of carefully sourced and recycled materials, supports global ocean conservation and reforestation efforts
Recommended for: Bass lovers, interest in global ocean conservation and reforestation efforts
Price: $$~$$$
The second brand I’ve encountered and tried out was House of Marley. It was around 2018~2019 when I found out about their brand. I’ve tried their Smile Jamaica Earbuds. Their brand is known for it’s emphasis on the bass sounds. I could really hear a lot of bass when using their earphones.
House of Marley is a brand that focuses on delivering music to its consumers as well as contributing conservation efforts to the planet especially focusing on ocean restoration and global reforestation efforts. Their materials are carefully sourced and sustainable. They’ve created a Project Marley Global Giving initiative in order to support ocean conservation and global reforestation efforts through One Tree Planted and the Surfrider Foundation.
Positive Vibration 2 Headphones - $49.99
Rebel BT Wireless Headphones - $59.99
Positive Vibration 2 Wireless Headphones - $69.99
Positive Vibration XL Wireless Headphones - $99.99
Positive Vibration XL ANC Wireless Headphones - $149.99
Exodus Wireless Headphones - $199.99
Exodus ANC Wireless Headphones - $249.99
House of Marley has more options compared to LSTN’s headphone line-up. It seems that their most expensive headphones have the highest ratings on their website. I would say HOM is best for the regular consumer again especially since their products have an emphasis of their “signature sound” which has a  strong bass sound. I wouldn’t think it’d be ideal for someone mixing music, but I think it would be appealing to a regular consumer who loves that bass-y sound. Concerning price, HOM has a variety of relatively mid-high to high price-ranged options which is a bit more appealing for those on a slight budget. I find their clarity about where their materials as nice as well as their conservation efforts!
SHOP House of Marley’s headphones here: https://www.thehouseofmarley.com/headphones/
3. Thinksound
Tumblr media
Fave factors about Thinksound: Studio-focused headphones, use of relatively natural & recycled materials
Recommended for: both the regular consumer & music industry involved concsumer, those looking into more eco-friendly headphones designed possibly for the studio?, use of natural materials, nice acoustics
Price: ??? / TBA
The last brand I found upon my research was Thinksound. A few months back I found their specific type of headphones called, ‘Thinksound On1′ headphones and came across a review that talked about them being used specifically for the studio. It was one of the first and only eco-friendly brands that I came across that created a headphone built for a studio. Unfortunately, the headphones were discontinued and I was sad to see their site was under construction. However, now that I checked back again today, I saw that they had reopened their site again and added some new products!! (Woohoo!)
Thinksound is a company that started out in 2009 striving to deliver products made to allow music to sound the way musicians and music professionals can be respected for. They strive to also use responsibly sourced materials.
ov21 - $??? / coming soon! (wired)
on21 - $??? / coming soon! (wireless)
I have yet to try this brand out yet I have high hopes for this brand. They’re made and are making products that deliver the music in a way that can be possibly respected by music professionals while also implementing responsibly sourced materials into their products. I am curious and excited to see the new headphones they have coming soon on their website!! (It’s stated on their website that they’ll have pre-order discounts and release info if you sign-up their newsletter on their homepage!) They are making both wired and wireless headphones available soon in the future so, I think their headphones will be both ideal for both the consumer and music studio involved consumer!
SHOP Thinksound’s products here: https://thinksound.com/collections/our-lineup
To wrap up, these are the top 3 brands I’ve found and recommend you all to try. Although most of them have quite an expensive price tag, supporting companies like these who strive to bring ethically and responsibly sourced materials without diminishing the quality of their products is a great way to listen to your music in an eco-friendly way.
And yes, I know. As you can see in the first picture of this blog, I am currently using AKG K240 headphones. I am hoping to try out brands like Thinksound if they continue to make headphones that can be used in the studio. Headphones (other than speakers) are a crucial factor in the whereabouts of mixing and getting a good sound from it is influential in the way the product and quality of the music that is being produced. I still find it difficult to find brands that have both great sound while being sustainable at the same time especially for studio-based headphones in the music industry. I hope there will be a day when more brands like Thinksound begin to implement those qualities while both trying to put in an effort to responsibly source their materials!
Let me know what your thoughts on these brands are if you’ve ever tried out these brands yourself! Thank you for reading. :)

What do you think you need to produce and engineer your own music? SSL Mix Console? Teletronix LA2A? API 500 modules? The answer is none of thee above. Your skill in the craft is far more important than your equipment. While the gear you use does have an impact, if you do not know where and how these tools should be used, it will make no difference to the quality of your music nor the mix and master.
For the bedroom studio musicians, there are only a few elements you NEED to start up your learning process. With digital tools accurately replicating beautiful vintage pieces of outboard hardware you have more than what you need to get started. But the on a dime musician should start with: (And this entails all instruments digital and live)
Obviously you need a computer. Until you reach a specific point in power, most any desktop or laptop with 8GB’s of ram will suffice. You need decent processing power to stay away from latency as well as distortion and glitches within your project which will also translate to requiring latency in order to move past this until further power is required thus demanding more latency to allow your PC to process information from your wav and tools before it delivers the audio to your speakers or headphones.
An audio interface. You can find great budget friendly interfaces made by Focusrite, Berhinger, Avid and many more that offer great digital amps and a small handful of recording parameters most of which including phantom power if need be per microphone. I recommend the Focusrite 2i2 for starters who want to capture that of both XLR microphones as well as 1/4″ DI or analog signals from bass, guitars, vocals, keyboards and really anything that is mono. For stereo there is a bit of routing you need to implement via your Digital Audio Workstation which will allow multiple inputs to be recorded at once. This can come in handy for things like Drum Rooms, Vocals, Drum Overheads and again, anything you see fit for stereo recording.
This one is a good one as i know most certainly you want the best recording at the source. You can only fix so much in the mix and there is nothing that beats the genuine quality of a great recording as well as one that mails the take rather than editing to compensate. Good microphones ranging from $100-$300 includes the Shure SM58, Rode NT1A, Aston Origin and the famous AKG Pr Audio C214. All of these microphones deliver a brilliant high end as well as capture very natural elements of the performance in detail. The Shure as well as the Rode are very quiet in ways that they eliminate outside noise thanks to the full grill surrounding the unit in case of live recording with other instruments like a full band or group of vocalists in a choir.
This one is optional, but you can never go wrong. You will want a acoustic treatment shield to surround your microphone to help eliminate any reverberation that might make its way back to your microphone. I have an Auralex shield that i swear by in my studio as the whole thing i solid wood leaving lots of room for unwanted reverberation and frequency bleed which can stunt the quality of your performance. There are lots of great products that offer the same kind of shield, but i highly recommend Auralex. (Not noted but obviously you will need a microphone stand to equip your gear upon.)
This one is also quite obvious, but you will need a method of playback and monitoring. I love the process between headphones to monitors as i will detail my mix on headphones for lows and mids and focus the high end to the monitors as well as see how it all translates on a separate pair. Budget monitors are kind of tough, which i why i DO recommend headphones. Sennehsier 589SE or any Sennheiser headphone with a closed back will deliver very honest referencing, but depending on your purchase point you might end up with a pair that emphasize areas of your mix you want heard more truthfully. It is important to remember to reference your mix in your car. This is where most music is enjoyed and will provide a great ground for your further mixing or mastering decisions as subconsciously we all know what pro productions sound like in our car from years of listening. For budget monitors, i highly recommend Yamaha’s HS8’s or HS5’s. These are very transparent speakers that have adjustable parameters for your room as well as low end boosting, mid boost and high end boosting which can all be reduced to best suit your mixing and referencing needs per your room or just flat out what you are comfortable with audibly. I also recommend KRK Rokits. These speakers define your mix in a clean and precise way that is honest for the price point. Standing at around $300 for the five inch monitor set you can not beat this price. I had been referencing on a set of Fostex RM900 eight inch monitors for about a year and added the KRK set to my system and was blown away by how well the high end worked in comparison. To define it by ‘you get what you pay for’ the Fostex monitors were over one thousand dollars as the KRK’s i found used for $175 for both making a set.
Finally, you will need an audio workstation of some sort. Unless you plan on recording to tape, a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) will inherently make your work flow more ergonomic. With the ability to punch in, edit, sample, use amp sims to develop tone and recovers mixes and so much more without tape you save  yourself an enormous amount of time in these processes. Depending on your styling of music there is a DAW for you! Sadly, not all of them are on a budget… For beat producers you can grab something like FL Studios from anywhere between $100 to $1000 dollars depending on the package you would like. Ableton is a great DAW as well, but does cost you a pretty penny of i believe a fat $800 for the full version. You can get a lite version which does not include some tools here and there for $100. You can find these tools among other companies to implement in your DAW of any kind to compensate as well but in some cases, you can not replicate the original tool. What i started with was Audacity because it was totally free. As i advanced in my needs, i found that Reaper was the best deal on the market as you can trial the FULL version for as long as you would like until you choose to purchase a license AND when you do purchase, it is only sixty dollars! You can download tools from various other aforementioned DAW’s and load them into Reaper to use as if though you were in the DAW of your choice. You get community based updates every thirty days or so which all do nothing but improve the quality and work flow for the people who pay into the company. But at the end of the day, there is no RIGHT DAW. Try the free versions of each one until you find something that pleases you in any way shape or form and really dive into it. I was told to get Logic but did not like how it felt for the price i had to pay. If you can afford it, i do recommend something that is industry standard along with the previously mentioned pieces of gear, but this is about a budget and the artist that is on a dime.
Edit: DO NOT FORGET YOUR CABLES.
And with that i bid thee happy mixing and creating. This small studio setup which should obviously include your instruments of choice (not mentioned for obvious reasons) will run you anywhere between $800-$1500 depending on your products of choice as well as what kind of computer you get with what kind of power. There is nothing cheap about audio and production but this is a killer setup that i spent years on to develop the skills needed to accurately apply those Teletronix LA2A Compressors, API 550’s and various other pieces of boutique gear we all seek. Once you learn the way your tools work you can present your talents among any genre as you will know what needs attention when and where. Do NOT let people tell you genre matters. As it does help to find a niche within your passion for listening, these skills work quite universally unless it is the physical beat, lyric or performance you are delivering. For mixing and engineering yes this applies about 15% from 100%. Stay strong with your setup and remember that practice makes perfect. If you can master your digital tools then you can master your outboard ones with an extra analog touch given by the actual electronics and tubes powering them.
I hope this helps you find the motivation to start recording and engineers your own music as i know hearing this helped the spark for me. For awesome digital tools check out VST4FREE as well as the product companies Waves and Fabfilter which all produce high quality tools for you mixing and writing. If you seek more song writing information or thoughts on music production follow my space and read back on my previous posts!

Known as the recording industry's pickup standard - AKG C414
AKG is a world-famous manufacturer of professional microphones and earphones. Since its establishment in 1947, AKG has been committed to the development and production of microphones and earphones. It has a large number of patented technologies and has made outstanding contributions to the development of microphones and headphones.
As early as 1953, AKG Love Technology produced the first large diaphragm microphone, and its unique vibration mode created a unique effect. The late C12V and C414 microphones became the standard of the recording industry and won numerous awards. The Great Diaphragm is popular because of its unique volume that is extremely thin. With the seamless integration of other components and technical parameters, the "warm" and "clear" sound quality required by each recording engineer is achieved. This is the technical crystallization of the AKG microphone.
Tumblr media
Today, take everyone to recognize the necessary microphone in the studio - AKG C414.
history
In 1953, Austria's AKG showed the legendary CK12 microphone head and became the giant of commercial condenser microphones. This microphone head lays the foundation for AKG's best-selling C12 and the C414 we will introduce to you today.
In the revolution in transistor technology, AKG designed the transistor version of the C 412. Soon, it was upgraded to four "Comb" versions of the C 414. After five years, AKG redesigned to create the first modern 414-C 414 EB (1976). But shortly after the microphone was released, AKG accidentally changed the microphone head. The new microphone head is darker, named 2072 Z, the only 414 version before 1993.
During the period of popular digital recording, AKG released the 414 EB-P48 version (1980). In 1986, the C 414 B-ULS was released. This "Ultra Linear Series" is the highest-selling model of AKG. The sound of B-ULS is warm and stable, but "not bright enough." At this time, AKG found that many people like the original 414, love the CK12 microphone head's light response and soft air. To this end, AKG designed the new C 414 TL-II (1993), the golden mesh is its biggest feature.
Features
C414 provides more polar pointing types. There are 5 gear positions on the front of the microphone, which are selected by a digital LED button. From left to right, they are omnidirectional, wide-hearted (which is not available in the previous C414), heart-shaped pointing, narrow-hearted pointing, and splayed pointing. With the button, we can choose these five pointing types and the mixed pointing of the adjacent pointing types. The comprehensive polarity pointing switch function makes the C414 a well-deserved all-round condenser microphone.
application
The sound of the AKG 414 XLS is very retro, warm and delicate. In contrast, the XL II is more modern, with better tolerance for sound and more sensitive high-frequency response. The difference between the two microphones is not large, but the features are outstanding. We used it to do some vocal tests, no surprises, and the performance was amazing. Compared to the tough image of the Neumann microphone, AKG's C414 is more convergent and the sound is full. In terms of vocals, the XLII captures enough detail and the XLS can portray a warm texture. To this end, we can make choices based on the characteristics of the source.
The AKG 414's multi-directional performance is well used in a variety of recording environments to pick up the sound of different instruments. In the manual, AKG provides a recommendation index for different sound sources for your reference:
It is highly recommended to use the C414 XLS sound source: Harmony/Chorus, Acoustic Guitar, Double Bass, Violin, Zipper, Grand Piano (Classic), Piano (Rock & Jazz), Organ, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Large, saxophone, flute, clarinet, kick drum.
It is highly recommended to use the C414 XLII sound source: master sound / solo vocals, voice, acoustic guitar, zither, piano (rock & jazz), trumpet, horn, saxophone, flute, clarinet, harmonica.
to sum up
The C414 is a full-featured large diaphragm condenser microphone with 9 points for maximum flexibility. The new transformerless design provides great dynamics and an extremely low noise floor. Pre-attenuation and low-cutting make it easy to handle a wide range of loud sound environments. The C414 can find the right way to match the recording needs you can think of.
C414 is the "universal" microphone in the eyes of many people. Its sound is impeccable and offers two versions of choice. It can be said that whether you like modern sound or warm vintage texture, there will always be a C414 for you.

Common Audio Mastering Mistakes
Common Audio Mastering Mistakes
Muddy Low End or Boomy Low End
A boomy low end is the most frequent mistake I hear all the time when I’m reviewing mixes from beginner mixers and amateur producers. Not properly representing the low frequency of your song is a vital mistake that could ruin your chances of making a good first impression with a potential client, fan, and A&R.
This problem can be easily avoided by proper use of:
Frequency Analyzer
Having a moderately tuned room
A pair of headphones with accurate LF response
Using Frequency Analyzer
I habitually use an analyzer to check my octaves in the lower range frequency. This ensures there is enough information in each necessary octaves.
Having a Tuned Room
Not having an acoustically tuned room is the most common downfall in a project and home studio environment. Knowing your room is key. Comprehending how your room responds to low-frequency range from 30Hz - 200Hz is absolutely crucial to achieving an appropriate low end. If you can’t hear it right, you can’t mix it right. Hire a professional acoustics designer to help fix your issue.
Using a pair of headphones
Utilizing headphones is a cost-effective way of fixing your problematic room acoustics. I repeatedly use headphones to check the lower octaves. There are several headphones that I have used in my career and they come highly recommended by top mixing engineers in the business. My top 3 are Sennheiser HD650,  AKG K701,  Audio Technica ATH-M50x

AKG K701 Review
You need to know whether the AKG K701 Survey earphones merit the cash or not, correct? Here is our fair audit of these entirely agreeable earphones. In case you're irritated that ear torment and perspiring are restricting the quality time you will go through with your music, you must check the AKG K701 earphones out. Chapter by chapter list Akg K701 Survey Details Plan Solace Commotion Dropping These Are Indoor Earphones Sound Quality Cost End Akg K701 Survey The simple truth that they have been underway for well longer than 10 years is a demonstration of their quality and prevalence. The sound quality is first class, similarly as you'd anticipate from earphones that are darling by proficient artists and recording studio specialists all throughout the planet, yet what really separates them from the opposition is the remarkable degree of solace they give. Details Name AKG K701 Type Over-ear earphones Connection Wired Dimensions 4.4 x 7.8 x 8.3 inches (11.3 x 19.9 x 21.2 cm) Weight 0.51 pounds (0.235 kg) Driver size 45 mm Recurrence range 10 Hz – 39800 Hz Impedance 63 Ohms Open/Closed Open Plan Outwardly talking, the AKG k701 headphones have an exceptionally curious plan. The huge ear-cups, combined with the cowhide headband, give it all things considered a retro energy. Additionally, notwithstanding the metallic look of the ear-cups, they're made altogether of plastic. This might be debilitating from the start; plastic surely doesn't emanate with that top notch quality shine of most different materials, however stop and think for a minute: Heavier doesn't really mean better. Many imitation producers make their earphones pointlessly weighty on the grounds that this spells 'quality form' according to the clueless customers. What we're attempting to say is don't be too rushed to even think about comparing weight with quality. AKG Acoustics are prestigious veterans in this field and the way that they selected to utilize plastic works totally to the K701's benefit. At just 235 grams, they're certainly one of the lightest studio earphones we've seen. What's more, this goes far to guarantee solace. Solace Solace truly is the situation with the K701 and the lightweight plastic form is just the start. Also, these earphones highlight a self-changing cowhide headband with exceptionally light opposition. The ear-cups are cushioned with 3D froth for the most ergonomic fit and enclosed by a layer of fine velour. What's more, the measure of strain that the ear-cups apply is somewhat negligible, barely enough for the earphones to remain on your head without sneaking off. Add these elements up and you're left with earphones that you can use for quite a long time with practically no aggravation or perspiring. In any case, captivating as this might be for, say, gamers, these earphones have a very specialty crowd in that they're not even reasonable for all audiophiles. Every one of this stems from one critical component of the K701: the open-back ear-cups. Commotion Dropping It might appear glaringly evident, yet we should just put it on the record no doubt: at whatever point you select open-back earphones, you can toss commotion offsetting capacities the window. Not exclusively will this make the earphones unsuitable for use in any climate loaded with outside commotions since you'll hear everything stronger than a murmur, yet in addition since every other person will hear whatever it is you're tuning in. These Are Indoor Earphones This reality renders them basically unusable in office conditions, during drives, and so on You could utilize them for gaming on the off chance that you have a tranquil gaming nook only for yourself. The way that they're wired isn't an issue. They're certainly futile during exercises, on the grounds that the link's an issue, yet in addition since they'll fall directly off. The low clasping power is extraordinary for solace yet it requests a fairly static methodology. Furthermore, just to commute home the point that these are as a matter of first importance studio earphones, they don't have any extra fastens or helpful in-line volume controls, giving you very little motivation to associate them to your cell phone. Sound Quality Obviously, these additional elements truly aren't normal in studio earphones – sound quality is the place where the cash is truly at. Obviously, the K701 doesn't disillusion. Truth be told, the term 'greetings fi' should have been begat to depict these earphones. They gloat a full recurrence range with fair bass, an incredible mid and an off the charts high pitch. The completely clear highs and smooth lows make the akg k701 headphones fit for an entire scope of types, from traditional to metal. Notwithstanding, it may not be the most ideal decision for present day, bass-substantial types; particularly seeing as they have a 300 hour break on schedule. Yet, kid, is the lucidity unparalleled after that! The scientific capacities of the earphones are absolutely surprising. Each note is unmistakable and you'll hear even the smallest recording blunder. In case this is the sort of execution you require, the K701 will not leave you needing. Particularly when we think about cost! Cost The AKG K701 sits at a fairly powerful sticker price of $450 on AGK's site. Honestly, this isn't absurd for a fine illustration of mid-range studio-grade earphones, albeit the way that they're plastic makes the dread of unintentionally breaking them genuine. Yet! Seeing as you ought to experience no difficulty discovering the K701 earphones for a large portion of the cost on different affiliate locales, they truly are a take. Now and again, they even spring up for under $200. End With everything taken into account, the AKG K701 earphones are out and out amazing, inasmuch as you fit their objective segment. In case you're searching for agreeable open-back earphones for long stationary meetings, even similarly as a basic audiophile, then, at that point, you will not track down a superior item. In any case, 'stationary' truly is key here. They're not appropriate for use in some other way, nor do we recommend going out with them, particularly seeing as they don't accompany a conveying case. Also, obviously, while the bass is entirely functional for most classifications, don't anticipate that it should shake you. By the by, regardless of whether we don't think about the unparalleled degrees of solace, the astonishing sound quality alone legitimizes the cost.
