I have a question about the Askin and Yoruichi fight. So what kind of words did yoruichi use that make him really mad ? And also what is your thought about yoruichi sun tattoo in her thigh?(thank u)

That's an interesting question. I didn't actually remember what scene you meant at first and had to go back to poke around their fight. I assume you mean the bit where she first sneaks up on him as he's trying to finish off Ichigo & co. And as it happens there is a little bit of word play (I think?) going on here that gets lost in translation.

This whole back and forth starts with her saying,

"This guy says a lot of weird things... If the other person can't move, why wouldn't you just strangle them?" And he says, "A long time ago, Bambi said that same thing..." and then this line that I have no idea how to translate,

当時もヒイたし今聞いても改めてヒイてるわ

touji mo HII tashi imaki itemo oratamete HII teru wa

and I don't know what HII[ヒイ] means here... Is it just kana in place of a regular Japanese word? Is it supposed to be a loan word? English? German?? Is it a sound, like the sound of frustration(like REEE?), and not a real word at all???

Viz translated this as "cringe" and the shitty old mangastream scanlations called it "pissed off" but the point is, he feels the same about it now as he did then, and it's not a positive feeling. It's not especially relevant to the wordplay anyhow... he goes on to say,

全くデリカシーが無いったら…… 無えよッ!

mattaku DELICACY naittara…… neeyo~!

really, you have no DELICACY…... None!

as in "to be delicate/to have tact/sensitivity/consideration" But Yoruichi says,

何じゃ "でりかしー" とは相手を嘗めてかかる事か?

nanja "delicacy" to wa aite o namete kakaru koto ka?

What is "delicacy" to look down on the other person?

And I think(?) this was a pun in Japanese, because the phrase nametekakaro[嘗めてかかる] means "to look down on (someone)/to make fun of/to put down/to treat with contempt/to underestimate" but the text is broken up sort of weirdly so that we read [嘗めて] before we read [かかる].

(On the one hand that makes sense given the size and space of the bubble, but I feel like you don't normally split a phrase in half between lines like that?)

But the [嘗めて] by itself is a less common way of writing [舐めて]: "lick/taste/lap up" which seems to play into the way Askin has to ingest the things he alters lethality of? And sort of tangential to this, the use of the English "Delicacy" here could be a matter of confusion where Askin is talking about a delicate touch, but Yoruichi is taking it to mean some sort of rare food.

Incidentally there is also the following argument about "Style" where Askin insists,

Basically just saying that maybe Bambietta, with her messy indiscriminate Explode style, or Yoruichi as someone very physical and bawdy, might be the types to strangle someone to death, but not him. He prefers the precise and delicate style of his Deathdealing.

And Yoruichi kinda jokingly comes back with, "I don't know this Bambi you're talking about, but what you're trying to say is 'The Way of a Beautiful Woman' right?" And Askin has this final line as he whips out his wacky compact bow thing,

おんなもバンビも確かに美人だが…… 女の価値は顔じゃねェよ…… オシャレかどうかだ!!!

onna mo BAMBI mo tashika ni bijin daga…… onna no kachi wa kao janeEyo…… OSHARE ka doukada!!!

(You)Woman and BAMBI also, definitely beautiful, but…… A woman's value isn't (her) face…… (it's whether she's) Stylish or not!!

the all kana OSHARE there being, oshare[お洒落]: "fashionable/dressed up/stylish." So, it comes back to "style", but in Japanese and not in English like the rest of his rant. This bit wasn't as relevant but I thought it was an interesting quirk.

ML vs Bleach 5: Aizen Sousuke vs Gabriel Agreste. Real Genius Mastermind vs Complete Idiot, whose plans only works, when narrative makes everyone else dumber than brick.

I mean, you said it all in one right there:

Gabriel is not a scary villain.

There's never any stakes when he makes a 'good' plan or seems to have a winning hand, because ML refuses to have any stakes.

Gabriel never ever wins in any meaningful way;

Marinette vs Gabriel is a literal never ending battle of attrition, because the writers only care about drawing out the story as long as possible to make bank lol.

the few times Gabriel ever has had a meaningful victory, it's erased from the timeline completely (twice, at least), or it's just a really cheap way to ""raise the stakes"" when it has no real impact on the story (Gabriel getting the Miraculous at the end of s4) and usually only serves to hype up more drama for the latest incarnation of the Status Quo.

Aizen on the other hand, is always a threat, always one step ahead of our heroes, but at the same time, our heroes still have their triumphs, and have to work, through blood, sweat, and tears for their triumphs.

They have to earn their wins, they have to struggle, they have to bleed, and they have to lose, and that's why their wins are so... triumphant.

We see them get the shit beat out of them on the regular, we see them dying and only saved by pure chance or forces outside their scope of knowledge (thanks, Zangetsu <3 ),

we see them struggling to recover physically and emotionally from their experiences, so that when they finally stand across the battlefield from the opponent who felled them before, and emerge bloody but victorious?

That's earned.

That means something.

Because we actually see the work that is put into fighting and training and going above and beyond to protect the ones you love,

all while Aizen just keeps revealing more and more dominoes falling into place, keeps pulling the rug out from under our heroes right as they think they've made a dent, until Ichigo is able to cleave moutains asunder with a swing of his blade but he still can't even put a scratch on Aizen

Meanwhile,,,,,,, uh. Gabriel hasn't been defeated purely because of plot armor, which is the same thing keeping him from winning!

Either he's a competent adult Miraculous wielder who can spam his ability infinitely and easily destroy some 13 and 14 year old kids who transform back in five minutes if they so much as breath the name of their Miraculous Power,

or he's a completely incompetent villain who would be doomed instantly if Marinette was allowed to defeat him using her smarts, except the writers hold her back from making any intelligent decisions, because then the show would be over lol.

Especialy since the new season revealed that the Rooster Miraculous can uh.... pick any superpower they can imagine and give it to themselves.

Meaning Marinette could give herself the ability to track Miraculous.

Marinette could give herself the ability to automatically find and destroy an akumatized object.

Marinette could give herself the ability to make custom lucky charms, literally anything she can imagine to track and capture corrupted Miraculous, halt akuma in their tracks, release Sentimonsters from the peacock's control and give them free will, etc etc. There's also the Goat Miraculous which for whatever reason does the exact same thing i said above.

Gabriel now has full access to the fully established power of both the Goat and Rooster Miraculous, which Marinette at least has the excuse of the writers didn't come up with these powers until the end of s4

Gabriel wants to bring his wife back from the dead?

He's literally got two different Miraculous to choose from to accomplish this goal:

He can use the Goat to create an object that will magically cure Emilie and wake up back up, or an object that will infinitely create further custom objects to do both that as well as anything else he can think of to achieve more ridiculous amounts of wealth or world domination or whatever.

or he can use the Rooster to give himself the ability to heal Emilie himself, or the ability to similarly track Miraculous, or see through a Miraculous suit to see Marinette's secret identity, the ability to make the wish without it backfiring on him, etc etc etc.

Gabriel is not a scary villain, he's never a threat, and we already know he never will be.

today I discovered that despite being nominally in West Tokyo, Karakura is Fuchu (where Kubo is from) and Naruki is Hiroshima, but this does mean the Vizard base is roughly where I thought it was (maybe slightly more "west")

I also discovered that a lot of humor around Tatsuki sure seems like a reference to Akuma from Street Fighter, and her mention of Tekken is perhaps a 4th wall breaking joke reference to Street Fighter X Tekken / Tekken X Streetfighter because when she wanted it back from Ichigo, the next game (Tekken 5) wouldn't be out for almost another 2 years

The sparring session

azami’s chapter

The kids went home as soon as they arrived back in the village. Ichigo had mostly recovered along the way, back to bickering with Akuma like usual and giving Yuna some sense of relief. An undeniable tension still remained when they all parted ways.

Yuna lingered by the gate, watching her students disappear into the village. She breathed out a deep sigh, tilting her head to stare up at the sky and watch the few straggling clouds above. Her rumbling stomach snapped her out of her daze, and suddenly she was painfully aware of the mud clinging to her clothes and the tension in her body for being on edge for so long. As much as she wanted to check in with her kids and make sure they were actually feeling alright, it was time to head home.

She paused at the top of the stairs leading to her place, spying a certain persistent ninja sat outside her apartment. He had the audacity to act like he hadn’t noticed her already, staring ahead while he scratched at his cheek.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re waiting for me,” she called out, her heart fluttering when he seemed to perk up.

“I was. Figured this was the best way to fit in your busy schedule,” the teasing tone of his voice brought a scowl to her face. Even though in reality, she was happy to see him. The way her mission had gone overtaking the shame of her drunken flirting for the moment, allowing her to admit she could use the company.

“What’d you want?”

He stood up as she unlocked the door, his hands stuck in his pockets.

“I left my book at your place when I brought you home a few days ago.”

“Oh,” she felt a little bad for avoiding him if that was the case. Did he really not want to talk about that night? She had been so sure he would’ve wanted to tell her that he wasn’t interested in her. She opened the door and nodded to the right, “come in then.”

He thanked her as he followed her in, and she not so subtly hurried over to her table where the pieces of her novel lay on full display. She’d die before she let him read it.

“I don’t remember seeing anything out of place. What book is it?”

“Book number one of the Icha Icha series, you probably know it well,” her face immediately twisted up in disgust. She had never read them, but she spent a good portion of her life with Jiraiya-of course she knew them.

“You can’t be serious, you read that garbage?” Kakashi scowled at her, actually offended on behalf of an old pervert’s book series.

“Hey, hey, shouldn’t you respect your sensei’s work?” She rolled her eyes.

“I’ll check my room, you can look around out here.”

Nothing in her room was amiss, no sight of an ugly green book among her things. She even looked under her bed, but realized Kakashi probably hadn’t even been in her room for long. Not after she’d tried to undress-

She shook her head before the embarrassment could take over and left her room. Kakashi was waiting for her, leaned against the back of her couch in a way that shouldn’t have been so attractive, and holding up a book.

“Found it.”

“Good, I’m glad,” they both paused, an awkward silence hanging over them. “I’m about to have some dinner, if you wanna stay?” It took her a second to realize how dumb the invite was, cringing when it hit her that he wouldn’t be able to eat anything.

“Sure.”

She had expected him to lounge around and wait for her to cook up a meal, so she couldn’t help the look of surprise that crossed her features when he joined her in the kitchen. Even more so when he traded his vest for her apron hanging in the kitchen.

“What’s for dinner?” She couldn’t help but snort at the sight of him donning her froggy apron, trying and failing to suppress her giggling. Seemed that had been his plan all along, if his reaction was anything to go by.

“Um…can you get started on some rice?” She was pretty sure he wouldn’t listen if she said she didn’t didn’t need help.

Having him in her kitchen helping out with dinner, and wearing her apron, left her practically sick with butterflies. The whole thing felt absurdly domestic, working together in a comfortable silence. She couldn’t help but steal an occasional glance, admiring how sharp his jawline appeared even with his mask on and his pretty white eyelashes. Was he always so attractive?

Over dinner, an easy conversation flowed. He felt so different, a far cry from the dry, grumpy captain she’d followed around like a lost puppy. He’d loosened up the tiniest bit in the later years but it was hardly anything compared to the man sitting across from her cracking jokes and making her laugh harder than even Jiraiya used to manage.

“My students are stressful,” he’d started, sighing exasperatedly and leaning back in his seat almost dramatically. Her laughter from the action died down when her eyes wandered to where his shirt clung to his chest. His decision to leave his vest where it lay hanging off the back of her couch made it hard to act like an adult and not some horny teenager. Especially when he lifted his hand to run through his hair, and the muscles in his arm oh-so-obviously bulged. God, did he have to find the tightest jonin shirt she’d ever seen?

To be fair, it wasn’t anything compared to the Anbu uniform-

Her heartbeat skyrocketed as she remembered how good he’d looked, the tanktop had been like a second skin. All of his muscles had been so prominent.

Cut it out, you’re no better than Jiraiya at this point.

She moved to take a sip of her drink, anything to tear her eyes away from his damn pecs.

“Naruto and Sasuke fighting every second, and then there’s this weird love triangle with all of them,” she nearly choked on her drink.

“Love triangle?” She asked between giggles. .

“Sakura’s into Sasuke, Sasuke’s clearly into Naruto, and…Naruto, I can’t tell. Maybe both,” her shoulder shook from laughter.

“Wow, and I thought I had it rough. My kids-” she trailed off, the reminder of her kids bringing back the memories from their mission, leaving her chest tight all over again. No love triangles in her team, just Konoha’s number one trouble maker and another kid who refused to use his kekkei genkai. Not to mention the emotionally distant Uchiha she couldn’t stop worrying about.

Kakashi, vigilant as ever, leaned forward, “you alright, Yuna?” Her eyes snapped up to his, the clear concern for her getting her chest all warm and allowing her to take a moment to recover.

“Yeah,” she waved a hand through the air, “yeah, sorry, just lost in thought,” she could practically feel the doubt coming off of him in waves. He didn’t believe her for a second, but he didn’t push. He usually didn’t, it seemed that was something that hadn’t changed.

All too soon, Kakashi voiced it was time for him to go. As he retrieved his vest, she hopped up from the table and rushed to the kitchen, emerging with some boxed leftovers.

“Since you can’t eat it here,” she held it out to him, and he blinked down at her in surprise before his eyes closed-the indicator he was smiling and effectively making her face flush almost immediately. “I figure you’re still the type who hardly cooks.”

“Always so considerate,” she grinned at the compliment, her heart hammering in her chest when he reached out to poke at her nose. “I’ll see you around.”

“Yeah,” embarrassment flooded her at the way she’d practically sighed.

As far as her previous interactions with Kakashi had gone, she had to admit that had gone well. Nothing too mortifyingly embarrassing. She’d take that as a win.

The next day had been the usual stuff. It was the first time Yuna had been relieved to see Ichigo turn up late, panting with her tattooed cheeks flushed. The sense of normalcy had relieved her slightly.

Her mood a little brighter than before, she told the kids to get to sparring-Azami paired with Akuma, and Ichigo up against her. The redhead had huffed about the heat, and the unfairness of the pairs for a good while. She had a right to complain about the heat, she could actually see the perspiration dripping down the kid’s tanned skin.

“You’re being too rash,” she called out just as she sidestepped to avoid Ichigo’s fist, following it up with a kick to her side. The Inuzuka growled in frustration when she hit the ground, “think about it before you run in swinging.”

“I am thinking!” The poor kid only got more angry when Akuma chimed in with a snarky comment insulting her intelligence.

Yuna glanced at the other two, both of their movements visibly skillful and precise but she could see the growing frustration in Akuma’s face when his attacks didn’t land. His temper seemed to get the better of him all the time, and eventually his fighting would grow sloppy. Apparently, it gave him the edge he needed, his movements becoming unpredictable and throwing off Azami enough to land a hit. A kick sent her toppling backward, and then, a puff of smoke appeared when she landed.

The three of them stared into the empty spot where Azami had been in silent unison. A thousands questions whirring between them until a mix of awe and horror came over Yuna.

“She sent a shadow clone to training?” A shadow clone? At her age? She only knew one other person who’d mastered it so young and the reminder left her nauseous yet again. Itachi. She’d remembered hearing the story, how he’d sent a shadow clone to the academy and then got into a fight so it’d ended up getting revealed. It had turned out great for him, he’d graduated the academy early, much like she had. The story had been funny, but she wasn’t laughing now.

More and more Azami was starting to mirror her older brother, and it was becoming too much. Yuna’s worries were getting the best of her. Worried about what exactly she couldn’t really place.

“What the hell? She’s just skipping out on training?” Ichigo’s outrage barely registered in Yuna’s ears, eyes still trained on the spot where the smoke had finished dissipating.

“Do you need to go look for her, sensei?” Akuma asked, clearly annoyed that his victory had been so short lived. Finally, she tore her eyes away from the empty spot in the grass and turned toward him. His blonde bangs, practically glued to his forehead from the sweat, caught her eye and she sighed.

“Let’s just…take a break, see if she comes back.”

Azami didn’t come back, either out of pure indifference or out of fear of getting in trouble, Yuna had no idea. The kid was so hard to read. It was entirely possible she found the training boring, beneath her maybe. She couldn’t think of another reason she wouldn’t show up herself.

“This isn’t like her,” Ichigo murmured, her chin resting on her knees, “she always seemed to take this stuff so seriously. Do you think…it’s coz of me?” Yuna’s eyebrows furrowed, looking into Ichigo’s uncharacteristically sullen expression.

“What? What do you mean?”

“I messed up on that mission and she had to save me. Maybe she wants new teammates.”

“No, no, I really doubt that’s it,” she brought a hand up to pat the top of Ichigo’s head, her eyebrows furrowing as her thoughts ran wild. Akuma’s voice hit her ears, the two of them no doubt beginning to bicker but their words seemed to hit a barrier in her mind. She struggled to figure out what to even do when she wasn’t sure what she was worried about to begin with.

Another perspective. That’s what she had decided she needed, which was what ultimately brought her to the Hokage’s office to talk about Azami. He’d listened quietly to her recap of Team 6’s first proper mission, and then proceeded to chuckle when she brought up the shadow clone incident.

“Quite the prodigy, it sounds like.”

“That’s not worrying to you? Itachi did the same thing, it was how he graduated from the academy.”

“I remember,” his face grew slightly more serious, “is that why you’re here? You’re worried about her similarities to Itachi?”

“I think,” her shoulders slumped, her chest feeling tighter by the second. “The quiet, the ruthlessness-you know, it all reminds me of him.”

“Does it remind you of him…or Yuta?” His words hit her with the weight of a boulder, her eyes going wide. His expression seemed almost apologetic, “it would explain why you’re so worried. Of course, her lack of hesitation to kill is worthy of concern but I think, because of your past, you’re overthinking all of this.”

She was silent for a good while, letting his words replay in her head.

“You’re really not worried?”

“You know what hatred looks like, Yuna, and you tell me she rushed to protect Ichigo from those bandits. That’s not hatred,” of course, he had a point. His expression softened a bit when she nodded, “I know you feel responsible for what happened with your brother, but you were a child, you couldn’t have known what was happening with him,” she nodded, tense with her lips pursed. It was an old song she was sick of hearing, although it had been a long while.

“All you can do is keep a close eye on her, but really, I think you have nothing to worry about-”

The door opened, pulling both of their attention toward the head of white hair poking through. Kakashi’s eye widened when he spotted Yuna. A strange sense of calm washed over her just from seeing him, giving her relief from the memories of her brother. It made it painfully obvious just how bad her crush had grown.

“Ah, am I interrupting?”

“No, we just finished up,” she thanked the Hokage as she stood up, and turned to give Kakashi a friendly smile when she passed him to leave.

His voice stopped her just as she had started to step out.

“That food was amazing. Be careful or I might start mooching off you,” he said with one of those closed eyed smiles, the compliment bringing an embarrassingly huge grin to her face.

“Mooch all you want, I always make too much anyway.”

Yuna knew she had to talk to Azami, nothing was going to clear up if she didn’t try. The only problem is she had no idea where the kid liked to hide. She’d considered asking Sasuke, but more than likely he wouldn’t rat out his sister, especially to someone he’d never spoken to.

It was a long shot, but she did remember where Itachi used to hide-where she’d often been dragged to when Shisui wanted the three of them to hang out.

Her Anbu tracking skills didn’t fail her then, because that’s exactly where she found Azami. All of the targets from Itachi’s shuriken jutsu practice remained, decorated with knicks from all of the kunai that had pierced them in the past. The feelings welling up in her chest were conflicting; nostalgia and anger twisting together in an almost nauseating mixture. She let the nostalgia win over for the sake of the raven haired girl standing in the center of the targets. As far as Yuna could tell, she hadn’t noticed her yet.

Out of sheer curiosity, Yuna decided to stay in the shadows just to see if Azami could manage Itachi’s old move. It seemed it would’ve been pretty difficult to pull off without the help of sharingan, but then again, she was no Uchiha-not like she was an expert.

Azami’s feet left the ground, jumping up into a backflip and tossing out her kunai, followed by the second wave. The clang of metal hitting metal broke the oddly tense silence, Yuna only realizing she’d been holding her breath once a few of the kunai hit the targets. It hadn’t even been half but she couldn’t contain her excitement, pumping a fist in the air and yelling from the treeline.

“Nice!” Azami, now startled by the sudden shout, botched the landing and hit the ground with a harsh thud.

Way to go Yuna, already off to a bad start before you even began!

“Sorry, sorry!” She jogged over to help her up, cringing when the poor kid nearly toppled over as soon as she got to her feet. “You landed on your ankle, is it alright?”

A stupid question, considering the only thing keeping Azami upright being her grip on Yuna’s shoulder along with the way her pale face scrunched up in pain.

“Hopefully it’s just a sprain, I’ll take you to the hospital.”

The two of them earned plenty of stares walking through the streets with Azami towed on her back. Yuna had hardly noticed, too busy wallowing in self pity at how wrong everything managed to go. She hardly believed Kakashi or Guy had broken their student’s ankle. No, she was just the worst teacher in Konoha’s history. It left a permanent pout on her face, her cheeks puffed out in a childish manner.

“Are you mad at me?”

Azami’s voice had been so quiet, she probably wouldn’t have heard it if she hadn’t been so close. Yuna’s steady steps faltered at the sudden shift from her student’s usual silence, feeling a little bad that had been her first instinct.

“What? About the shadow clone?” She breathed out a soft laugh that almost felt more like a sigh, “no, but how about you start with why you didn’t show up yourself?” She glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, seeing the guilt flicker over her face.

“None of you want me around, I can feel it,” it was her turn to feel guilty. Of course, Azami wasn’t dumb. The sheer trauma of what had happened to her had probably aged her ten years mentally, it wasn’t so hard to believe she’d picked up on everyone’s unease after the mission.

There was no use lying to her.

“The truth is, at first, being your teacher was hard for me. Itachi killed someone very important to me,” Azami’s expression shifted into something akin to horrified. She’d wanted to go on, elaborate that Azami looked so much like him but she spoke up with something that stopped her in her tracks.

“Shisui…” She had been so sure that Azami was too young to remember her always hanging around her older brother but apparently that wasn’t the case. She swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded.

“Seeing you- someone so similar to the person I knew…it worried me, but,” she made sure she was looking at her as she spoke, “you’re not him, and I promise to stop comparing you to him. I’m sorry I ever made you feel unwanted, because you’re very important to me. You’re also important to your teammates.”

“Really?”

“Really,” Yuna smiled, crinkling her nose in amusement, “Ichigo was scared you didn’t like her because you had to save her,” she could practically feel how hard Azami shook her head.

“I don’t care about that, I…just wanted to help her,” Yuna smiled, feeling lighter than she had since they’d gone out on that mission.

Along the way, Yuna had mentioned her conversation with the Third Hokage; only recapping the fact he’d called her a prodigy, of course. The poor kid had fallen into what could only be described as flustered silence, only saved by their arrival at the hospital.

Yuna couldn’t help but shrink in on herself when the doctor confirmed that Azami’s ankle was sprained. She sent her student an apologetic smile from over the doctor’s shoulder, her expression painfully unreadable.

“Do you want me to stick around for a bit? O-or I could go find your brother?”

“Sasuke would just make fun of me,” she paused, “but I wouldn’t mind if you stuck around,” she smiled and nodded, taking a seat in one of the nearby chairs.

They’d sat in comfortable silence, Yuna kept her focus on a book, while Azami did her best to take a nap. It had reminded her of the days she used to spend with her brother. Yuta had always been quiet, choosing to sit in impressively long bouts of silence while she did whatever. When she’d been a kid, she thought he had been angry having to babysit her but she realized later if he had been angry, he wouldn’t have been quiet. A small comfort among the bad memories.

The reminiscing was cut short by the door swinging open and slamming harshly into the wall with a loud smack. The two of them hardly had a second to even register their own surprise before Ichigo was running in, followed by a less enthusiastic Akuma.

“Oi, oi, what happened?! Ino told me she saw you carrying Azami to the hospital! Were you attacked?” Ichigo slammed her hands on the bed, staring wide eyed at the startled Uchiha.

“No…I just hurt my ankle,” she answered, and Yuna was somewhat grateful she left out how it had happened. “You came to see me?”

“Obviously! You could’ve been dying or something,” from behind her, Akuma rolled his eyes so hard Yuna worried they’d get stuck in the back of his head. Ichigo made herself comfortable on the end of the bed, going on about how cool the shadow clone was.

Akuma had leaned against the wall, a little further from the group than Yuna would’ve liked. She lowered her book into her lap, unsure if the sour look on his face was natural or if he was upset about something.

“Didn’t your grandfather invent the shadow clone jutsu?” His expression shifted for a split second before he turned away, something she could only describe as a pout on his face.

“Yeah, that was him,” it wasn’t too far-fetched to think he was jealous, or something along those lines.

“Maybe Azami could teach it to you,” the conversation beside her had trailed off, all eyes now on the blonde. He was silent for a second before he let out a huff and crossed his arms over his chest.

“Don’t need it.”

Poor Azami had to head home on crutches, clearly embarrassed, and Ichigo’s surprisingly clingy nature wasn’t helping. Even though Yuna had promised to help her home, Ichigo wasn’t having it.

They had run into Sasuke, who was also on his way home. He regarded his sister with a sneer, eyeing the bandages wrapped around her ankle and the crutches and clicked his tongue.

“What happened to you?” He hardly sounded concerned, more mocking than anything.

“Sprained my ankle,” Azami was unphased by his attitude, limping past him on the crutches, Sasuke huffed.

“I told you that you’re too useless to make it as a kunoichi.”

“You wanna say that again-?!” Yuna stopped Ichigo from charging at the boy just in time, shooting her a pleading look.

“Be a little nicer to your sister, hm?” Yuna spoke as politely as she could, his cruel words making it difficult to remind herself it’d be ridiculous to argue with a child. No matter how badly she wanted to. He scowled at her, clearly not sorry in the slightest.

After double checking that Azami was okay, she ushered Ichigo along so she could walk her home.
