hate when nightmares are just obvious about their intention. i just woke up from a dream where my mother said i was dead to her for dropping out of college. there's really nothing to unpack there but i have to wake up sweating and hyperventilating anyway. be more interesting

I think that Alicent drilled Aemond on courting when he was young.
She teaches him about love and care and that a husband should not tolerate his wife, he should cherish her. Aemond is perceptive enough to see the way his father waves off his mother’s concern. The sight of her, the only one to defend him after losing his eye is one that will stick with his for the rest of his life. He promises her that when the time comes and she chooses a match for him, he will be a faithful and loving husband as the Gods (and his mother) intends.
When it happens and you are named his betrothed you’re....unsettled.
Not because of his eye. Gods no, you think its beautiful and captivating just like the rest of him. What worries you is that your soon-to-be-husband is...robotic.
He bows his head and kisses your hand upon introduction. Calls you “my lady” accompanies you to court and walks through the garden, but its all too rehearsed and empty.
Each move of his hand and word from his mouth sounds as if it has been practice several times over with no emotion behind it. There’s no care within them, only precision. You beleive he’s bored of you. A man of his status has no desire for a wife, only bitter obligation.
But that isn’t right.
The truth isn’t that Aemond is cruel or cold to you. He’s inexperienced.
He is the king’s son, but he hides a vicious scar on his face that ladies of the court whisper when they think he cannot hear them. He knows more of swordsmanship and philosophy than he could ever dream to know about women.
So when you curtsy and call him “lord husband” he goes silent. He doesn’t know how to respond to you, eyes grazing over his face without fear or disgust but instead curiosity. He falls back on the lessons he had with his mother, of how a man should address a woman and where his hand should lay on your waist never too high and never too low so as to not draw foul rumors to your name.
All he can hope is that some day he may address you properly without feeling like his mouth is full of cotton and his hands will cease to shake.

You know Talluhlah was ultimately doomed for tech issues when she was adopted by Wilbur fucking Soot. Man’s touches a computer and it fries itself.
I literally can never go back and watch the full vod of them first meeting because wilbur had to constantly un-mute, re-mute, turn on and off his speakers, JUST so he could hear other people and be heard EVERY TWO MINUTES.

truthfully i do think the narrative (embraced both by fandom & by spike) that the scoobies 'kicked buffy out of her own house' is flawed to say the least. what actually happens is that buffy refuses to stay and watch the potentials be led by faith. so the potentials & the scoobies, all of whom have every right to not want to be led by someone who just led them into a trap and who seems utterly unwilling to listen to their opinions and quite frankly who has not been very nice to them at all for the past few months, say: okay, then leave. so she leaves. i would hardly call that 'kicking her out'. she couldn't handle their decision, so she threatened to leave, and dawn called her bluff. and honestly she comes back a much better, more well-adjusted, and emotionally balanced person so. you know. it kinda seems like it was for the best! i know btvs fandom is very protective of buffy but the truth is that everyone needs to get bonked on the head with a rolled-up newspaper sometimes. even buffy. especially season 7 buffy

So yeah, we flooded this weekend, about 3 inches of water standing on the floor, all the kitties clinging to me when I woke up. Ravioli is traumatized, he is sensitive.
We've just now gotten it all dried out, everything up off the floor, prepping for round 2 of storms which will happen anywhere from today to the end of this week. The storm system is really volatile so they keep changing the dates it'll hit us. But we're ready....
I hope.

everyone is talking about the origins of henry 1.0 and how he was gifted to levi, but i can’t help but wonder if the “first best friend” they mentioned is actually lotan.
as far as i know (and please feel free to correct me if i’m wrong), we haven’t seen anything about how levi actually met lotan nor how he gained his status as the grand admiral. we know that levi has the ability to summon him at will (usually for comedic purposes) and that he can cause mass destruction, but they haven’t dove in deep beyond that (other than the monster festival chat). considering how nightbringer is covering the aftermath of the celestial war, including the upbringing of the brothers as the newly appointed seven lords, then it is safe to assume that we will be exploring how each of the brothers gained their statuses and the respect of the citizens of the devildom, including leviathan.
this brings me to my next question: why is leviathan the one who has the ability to command a dangerous monster like lotan? wouldn’t it be ideal to have lucifer, the strongest of the brothers and the leader, to command him? why not mammon, who worked directly under lucifer and is the closest one to him of the brothers?
well there’s one possibility: they both lacked the ability to gain lotan’s respect and hence control him.
again, i’d imagine that a monstrous creature as dangerous as lotan would not be easy to tame. he is a feared serpent of the deep sea — one with seven heads at that, and so strong that he caused so much mass destruction in the human realm,
and yet this monstrous serpent follows the command of leviathan.
leviathan, who prefers to keep to himself, enough to where interacting with others makes him uncomfortable. leviathan, who is very passionate about his interests and speaks in internet slang out loud.
leviathan, who was also the general up in the celestial realm and was so passionate about fighting that he felt like he had no purpose otherwise (and the reason why he’s so good at strategizing in video games).
leviathan, whose aforementioned experience could’ve been the overall reason why he somehow tamed the large, seven-headed beast.
now wouldn’t that catch the interest of the higher authority?
and wouldn’t that higher authority possibly be the demon king, who, as satan states below, gave them their rankings and demon names?
could that be why leviathan is the third eldest of the brothers, despite there being doubts in this? because even though his powers do not equate to an extremely powerful ex-celestial nor a throne who worked under said ex-celestial, he still gained enough respect that he could control such a wild, wild beast and eventually gain yet another leadership status over a whole army — a beast that his younger brothers cannot control either and hence are placed beneath him.
leviathan, the commander of the sea.
the grand admiral of hell’s navy.
