❝ Any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again. ❞

20.09.18 || I just finished up the first two weeks of online classes and oh my, are they stressful. I only taking three courses this term and I feel like I’m taking six! Does anyone else feel like online classes are more difficult than in-person classes?
This year I am a T.A. for the first time ever! This weekend will be used to brush up on my Greek grammar so that I can be the best for my students.

my feelings about Catullus is that he’s a little dangerous, I think there’s an intensity, and he has life to work through - he needs to breathe and find an outlet.
XD perspectives on obscure Greek classical poets ahah.
poems written in class instead of notes
Catullus
Catullus falls.
In love.
In life.
In a moment,
a heartbeat of both.
And when he falls, his life is both over
and begun.
And the world changes colour
It’s center shifts in the breath
When he meets her eyes.
Passion courses
Feel alive.
Feel lost.
In sensation, in slumber.
Darkness touches his soul
with the soft hands of love and
He’s doomed in the moment
That he feels.
But oh, to be doomed -
The sensation of surrender,
A fall to feeling
That like a tidal wave
Sweeps away all
Sanity.
He knows what is happening
But can’t fight the change
He sees in an instant
His ruin.
It’s in her touch.
He falls.
Sappho could live
A lifetime in love,
But he lives
A heartbeat in fear.
Take senses from
Him
Takes power from him.
Breathe.
He can’t.
Breathe.
Breath taken from his lungs.
Why does he feel
the way he does
It scares,
it’s
his ruin.
He looks into love
and in it
Sees ruin.
~
Ruin
His passion thunders wildly,
Keep it at reign
Like the hoofbeat of horses
That shakes the earth,
Don’t let it
Run away from you
Consume you.
In fire
In sound
In feeling
It’s beyond him -
Wrap your world in tight wire,
Bind it up close and strong
Hold it in
Don’t let
Your chaotic darkness
See light,
It will ruin you.
Catullus,
It will ruin you.
~
Demons
You are my lover
or you are my ruin?
You hold the fate of my life
in your eyes.
I’m tormented by
The demon of my passion.
It blinks at me
With tongues of fire
And tempts me
to darkness and ruin.
I love you
But that is my death,
I’m torn.
I hate that.
I love you.
It’s derailed my plans,
My carefully laid plans,
My course was drawn out,
Like stones in a cobbled street -
I knew the steps of this dance,
And you
Unearthed and flipped me.
I’m lost.
