omg I HAVE to ask about 'tis the damn season and two slow dancers (last ones out) because those are two of my FAVORITE songs!!
also ik you already talked about the while you were sleeping au but i just wanna say that i am sooo excited for it bc it's one of my comfort movies and ive seen it like a billion times <3 i cant wait to see what you do with it
a mitski or taylor title will always slap.
So, 'tis the damn season is a brother's best friend fic. Jake grew up poor and his mother died when he was young, leaving him with his asshole of a father.
Reader's family is very rich, like owning oil fields in Texas rich. Jake and her brother, Ian, were on the same pewee football team as kids and quickly became inseparable, their house always a refuge for him, especially during the holidays.
Jake, after not being able to make it for the holidays for the past few years due to not being able to get time off or being deployed, is bullied by Ian to come. This year the reader's parents are renting a lodge for the entire extended family in a made up skiing town in Colorado.
The reader is spending the holidays single, she has a (ex?)boyfriend she's taking some time apart from after a failed proposal where she told him she 'had to think about it'.
There's been a low simmering tension betweeen them for a number of years, that with her being newly single and Jake being Jake begins to come to a boil. They keep getting just a brush away from kissing—until they finally do.
And then... her boyfriend shows up uninvited. She tries to pretend like nothing happened between her and Jake, which annoys the shit out of him.
And they have to navigate family and insecurites and wants and needs all under a deadline—both of you are flying back to opposite sides of the country on January first.
here's one snippet under the cut and the pinterest board:
“My aunts hit on you yet?” He clicks his tongue. “One out of four so far. Nights still young.” You shrug, throwing back the last swig in your glass, “Or maybe you're losing your touch.”
and here's another, because i'm super excited about this fic.
With your head settled comfortably in his lap, he inquires, “Where's that boyfriend of yours?” “Uh, not, here.” You're quiet for a moment, a pinch to your brow and your lip tucked between your teeth. Clearly uncomfortable, not necessarily by him asking the question but by the memory it recalls. You release it with a sigh, “He proposed.” There’s an odd stirring in his chest, “Oh?” His hand drifts, thumb driving into the muscles below your ear. You let out a soft sigh, eyelashes fluttering, your body comfortably settling at the touch. He assumes why you're sans boyfriend, “And you said no.” It’s sort of a surprise, you don't really seem like the kind of girl who would not know whether you wanted to marry someone after three years, you also don't seem like the kind of girl who turns down proposals. You'd say yes just to keep everyone happy, especially your parents. Your eyes drift back open, yet you don't make eye contact, “No, I said I had to think about it.” “And?” “And… I'm thinking about it.” You take a swig off the bottle, settling your head back down into his hold.  “The sex is bad,” you blurt. It sounds like something you've been mulling over for a long time, the words worn smooth in your head, but it also sounds like you're trying to shove them back in as they come out.
two slow dancers (last ones out) is a second chance romance. The reader has finally filed for divorce from Jake after being estranged for three years because he reenlisted without telling her.
here's a snippet from a very rough draft:
With his hands bunched in the back of your shirt, he tugs, creating breathing room.  “I dont want to fuck you in the driveway.” He also doesn’t really want to fuck you in the shitbox place he’s renting. He wants to fuck you in your house, in your bed. He wants the things you shared to be the both of yours again. He's almost entirely sure that's never going to happen, he's fucked this beyond repair, so he’s smart enough to take what you offer him. You nod. He slides out of the car, a hand on your back and under your ass to steady you. He tosses you over his shoulder, hopping up the steps, carrying you to the door. Leaving one hand hooked over your thighs to keep you steady, he unlocks the front door, his other hand shakes as he fits the key into the lock. An image, now made bitter, of him doing the very same when you bought that big blue house together flashes through both of your minds. So many years younger then, so many older now. He feels ill, and can imagine you feel the same. You smack his back, your voice losing any playful or heady quality, “Put me down.”
thank you for the ask and your kind words!!

( hwang in yeop. agender. they/them. heart of gold & griff. ) supposedly KILLIAN SONG is actually a FAE, but i doubt it. they look like they’re TWENTY-NINE, though they act like they’ve been on earth for SIXTY-THREE years. i recently saw them at SIREN — i think they’re a MANAGER there. when dusk falls, you can usually find them heading home to STATEN ISLAND by BUS.
hii everyone! im raven (24, she/they) from the gmt+2 timezone. i havent rped in a hot minute im gonna be honest but im soo excited for this and i cant wait for the opening!! i wrote a little bit about my darling killian here along with a few stats, if you want to plot just hmu here or on dscord (rvn #4311) or like this and i’ll come to u !!
basics:
name: killian song
physical age: 29
real age: 63
species: fae
affiliation: unseelie court (estranged)
gender: agender
pronouns: they/them
sexuality: pansexual
more stats here!
backstory:
killian was born 63 years ago in the unseelie court. they were always a bit abnormal in the fae world. unseelie are darker and more open to mischief compared to their seelie counterpart, yet, killian simply didn’t care. they never did. sure they might be a little more prone to sarcasm and misconduct than your regular fae but they never felt like they truly belonged to their court, or the supernatural world as a whole really
they don’t really know who their parents were, they were simply born into the court and that was their family for the first twenty or so years of their life
killian is still a young fae, most of their family still live within the court but as they grew up the lack of something made itself stronger and stronger until they were torn by the need to get out there and start a new life
so they did, they left it all behind, no bad blood, but their family didn’t take the news well and refused to accept it. they’re still waiting for killian to come back and killian knows they would welcome them back with open arms but they’re content with their life at the moment and feel no need to go back
killian is young and having lived away from their community ever since they were even younger they lack the knowledge that older faeries have, such as concealing their appearance. because of that and despite knowing bits of the history of their species, they decided to make a pact with a witch, a small amount of their blood in exchange for a spell that would hide their fae appearance (they have completely black eyes and small antlers) from the humans they inevitably meet every day
personality wise killian is quite introverted and lacks social skills, that combined with their sarcasm leads to people thinking killian is mean even though they really aren’t
killian is actually really sweet and always thinks about others, the type to gift you things just because they saw it and thought about you
being a typical fae killian loves loves nature, so much that their house is so full of plants there’s almost not enough space for them to live in it
killian is totally a cat person, despite loving all animals they think cats fit their personality best, so they adopted two, leaf and blossom
they work as a manager at siren, mostly behind the scenes jobs but some nights they hang around the club to make sure everything's alright
wanted connections:
the witch that killian has made a pact with !!
the first person killian met when they left their court and ventured into the human world, could be a human that saw their true form and then found out about supernatural beings or another supernatural being that helped them (or not oho)
killian is completely clueless when it comes to flirting and romantic stuff (literally the type to ask their s/o if theyre dating after being in a relationship for 10 years) so maybe someone that hits on them and is fond of that side of killian (could be someone that hangs out at siren or anyone really!!)
maybe a roommate ?? someone who complains about the amount of plants or something, give me something fun !!
anything else, let's brainstorm !!

ranking the nancy drew games based on dead mom content™
you read that right. also spoiler warning obviously
33. ransom of the seven ships  -1/10   no dead mom content. negative bc of the fact that there’s blackface
32-24. stay tuned for danger, message in a haunted mansion, the final scene, secret of the scarlet hand, ghost dogs of moon lake, danger on deception island, the secret of shadow ranch, danger by design, the shattered medallion  0/10  no dead mom content™
23. the captive curse  0/10   no mom mentioned for lukas, is she dead or just somewhere else? we just don’t know.
22-21. secrets can kill, the deadly device  0.5/10  someone is dead but it is not a mom
20. the phantom of venice  .75/10  only a dead husband here...no moms
19. treasure in the royal tower  1/10 no dead mom but there’s dead estranged dad content. was marie antoinette a mom? idk
18. the white wolf of icicle creek  1/10  kinda estranged mom content but shes still alive. yanni’s grandma was killed by wolves if that counts and if he was telling the truth about that.
17. alibi in ashes  2/10  i cant remember if kate is ever mentioned, but just the fact that they’re in river heights and carson is gone and can’t help and she doesn’t have kate to help her out and has to go to her friends....idk hits if u think about it
16. last train to blue moon canyon  3/10  camille hurley was not able to have kids so technically isn’t a dead mom but she had her dolls....still sad as hell
15. curse of blackmoor manor  4/10  we learn about the penvellyn family so of course a family full of dead ancestors is full of dead mothers. one of those dead mothers is the iconic elinor who died from being burned at the stake. also the underlying plot is happening because of, not a dead mom, but a divorce and then new stepmom. lotta mom content in general.
14. the haunting of castle malloy  5/10  fiona’s parents were both killed in an explosion and really messed that girl up.
13. labyrinth of lies 5/10  grigor is an orphan, therefore there is some dead mom content, but its very minimal.
12. midnight in salem   5/10  not a technical dead mom, but dead mother figure with frances tuttle and lauren holt (i think that was their relationship....i played it once and theres not much on the wiki for MID yet) so technically the whole plot is in thanks to it, but i dont remember how much grief there was
11. trail of the twister  6/10  some dead wife content that nancy is an absolute dick about. you read the paper about ma. stop fucking pestering pa.
10. legend of the crystal skull  6/10  we get mr sad boy orphan henry bolet crying at his parents’ crypt. also his mom has the same photo as dr predovicu
9. the creature of kapu cave  7/10  for once we get a hardy asking someone about their dead mom instead of nancy! even tho, no one involved seems too sad about it and is very briefly mentioned. in fact, pua seems kinda happy that it’s just her and her dad so she can just surf all day.
8. ghost of thornton hall  7.5/10  again, dead mom content just because we learn about ancestors. a lotta dead sister/cousin content though. also it really hits you when you’re looking at the dates on the family tree and realize that harper and charlotte’s parents died like 4 years before charlotte died, and then harper and clara were alone except for each other. also the fact that clara’s mother died while she was young and before she ever told her who her father was just to have her new guardians die......rough.
7. secret of the old clock  8/10  woooo!!! another plot caused by a dead mom!!! not at traumatic as haunted carousel, but the culprit posing as your recently deceased mother’s friend is ROUGH. also nancy is actually nice when talking about gloria.
6. warnings at waverly academy  8/10  the twins’ mom dying and dad not knowing how to raise 2 girls causing them to pretend to be one person to get a scholarship and not be put up for adoption is so messy but a very good plot twist
5. tomb of the lost queen  8/10  jamila having a similar experience to nancy, where she thought her mom died in a  car crash, but turns out she was part of something bigger that she follows in her footsteps, KNOWING that it might end in her death too. AND those notes from that first exploration and all of the daughters of nerfertari leaving to find their ultimate dead mom (nefertari) and dying/disappearing in the process....idk it gets me!!
4. sea of darkness  9/10  here we have some primo dead wife action, along WITH the child. extremely sad and gets me absolutely every time i play through it.....the fact that he holds onto it being his fault.... oh my god im getting sad again!!!
3. the haunted carousel  10/10  dead mom content to the MAX. dead dad giving clues to daughter to find the last remaining photo of her dead mother since she burned every image of her after she died and then blacked out the memory. thats some trauma right there. interestingly.... im not sure if we learn her mom’s name even though her plot revolves around remembering her.
2. shadow at the water's edge  11/10  oh yeah theres a dead mom and shes HAUNTING YOU!!! kasumi’s story is so sad and nancy has absolutely no right to be poking into these people’s lives and absolutely deserves every time she gets second chanced because asked the wrong thing about their dead mom. also SO absolutely fucked up that anyone’s boyfriend would go “hmm, i want my sister to quit her job and move to the city with me,... oh yes! i’ll haunt her business with her dead mother. perfect!”
1. the silent spy  10000000/10   the FUCKING ULTIMATE DEAD MOM CONTENT™. nancy suddenly learning that her mother wasn’t just a civilian who died in a car crash and that the people who killed her were now after her??? so juicy. we get carson trying to protect nancy from kate’s fate, we get all those flashbacks, those recordings from revenant, nancy piecing together her mother’s double life that she never knew about... GOD!!!! and yes, i absolutely cry when i read kate’s note to nancy. that shit hits man. also kate writing a song for her and carson and then rewriting it to have a part for nancy in it once nancy was born really gets me too. p.s. moira was in love with kate you can’t convince me otherwise.
well. thanks for taking this journey with me.

Requested by @calkesttiss | Prompt:
Hi! I just watched isi & ossi (rich girl and poor boxer boy AH) on netflix and now i cant stop thinking about cal and fake dating. Do with that what you will 😂
Cal Kestis x Reader
1 | 2 | Next: Part 4 | Masterlist
3 of ?
The next morning, you’ve slept in. The first thing your puffy eyes see was Tazha sitting by your dresser stool and touching every single bottle on the table. You sat up but that still didn’t get her attention.
“Since when have you been here?”
Tazha turned her head to you, she exclaimed as if she was surprised to see you awake.
“Well, good morning, sunshine!”
You lay back to your bed but Tazha prompt stood up, marched towards you and pulled away the blanket from your body.
“Ohhh no, you’ve been asleep for far too long!”
Your eyelids shot up and flicked to Tazha.
“What time is it?”
Tazha snatched up the clock on your nightstand and showed the time right in front of you. You groaned and rubbed the bridge of your nose.
“What’d you do last night?”
She wasn’t expecting you to smile and scoff through your nostrils. Tazha tilted her head in confusion as she studied your expression.
“Crazy night, I’ll tell you more in a bit,”
You stood up to go to the bathroom and wash your face. By the time you came back out to rejoin Tazha, you narrated everything that happened right after your conversation via the holotable ended. She is the only person who knows your nightly escapades. You mentioned your run-in with your new friend.
“Well, it sounds like you two had fun kicking the asses out of those muggers,”
“He was probably judging my fighting techniques. I was still sloppy,”
Tazha stands up from your bedside.
“Come on. Our dads are downstairs, they’re probably working on the party that you told me about. Get dressed.”
The conversation was indistinct but audible from your bedroom in the second floor, both you and Tazha arrived in the living room where her father and yours were discovering over business matters. You didn’t last long in the living room, you dragged Tazha away to the smaller dining hall where you usually make your own food. She sat by the barstool on the center island, watching you rummage and fix up something to eat.
“Why don’t you call one of your cooks to do it for you?”
“No, it’s fine. Not everything I need has to be done by someone else,”
When you settled down on a seat opposite Tazha, she immediately saw the firm expression painted all over your face.
“What have they talked about so far, Tazha?”
“I’ve only heard much,”
“Like what? Start from the very beginning,”
Tazha started off with the part that obviously her family is invited to your father’s party, she got to the better and relevant parts—one of which is that she had picked up a name from their conversation earlier while you were asleep.
“They’ve invited the Ithrels. Your dad said something like sponsor or something,”
“He’s made the Ithrel family his sponsors,” you deduced.
“You make it sound like that’s a bad thing,”
“Just a feeling. Thanks for covering for me, Tazha,”
Today was a busy day for your parents. You were left alone in the dark as you watch them confer with one another and with different people via the living room holotable. As a child, it was something you never understood, it was also the reason why you felt estranged from them—despite giving you what you could ever want and need or both.
Why did they always choose to speak with projections of people through a machine over their own daughter in the flesh who is always watching them from the door?
There was very little interaction between you and your parents. Perhaps the only interaction you’ve had so far from either of them was your mother calling for you to go to the atelier room. When you got there, five people who introduced themselves as designers lined up in front of you. Beside them was a mannequin wearing a dress of their making.
“I had them called here because I want you to pick out a dress for your father’s banquet.”
None of the dresses seemed to impress you. You approached every single one, each designer either smiled at you or stiffened from nervousness—probably because your approval was their prize, a ridiculous competition.
Your fingers felt the fabric of each dress, your hand slid down to the skirts’ lengths, and then you move on to the next dress. They were beautiful indeed. But you’ve no need of them, other girls could’ve felt like royalty for a night in dresses like those. To spite your mother, you twirled to face her and give your verdict.
“Sorry, but I believe I have more than enough dresses for a party like this,”
You crossed your arms. Wrinkles appeared on Yasina’s forehead upon hearing your answer. The designers were just as confused themselves.
“I beg your pardon?”
“Mom, there’s so much dresses in my wardrobe that I practically need a warehouse! I think I have enough to choose from in my closet instead of this. Send them back. Have them make a dress for you if that makes you feel any better,”
It all happened so fast for your mother, you walked out and headed for your room, realizing that there isn’t much to do in your own house.
“They’re probably too busy to even care that I’m gone,” you muttered it to yourself with great scorn, lousily tying your hair in a messy ponytail and then proceeded to march out of the house.
You were on your way to downtown again. You put on the hood of your poncho and suddenly you were one of the common faces in the crowd. The destination was your favorite pub, back in the Tipsy Taun-Taun.
The Balosar barkeeper greeted you as soon as you entered.
“You’re early,”
“Whatever, I’m a paying customer.”
“Just sayin’.”
He said he’ll be whipping up a glass of Merenzane Gold for you, but you stopped him there and ordered a glass of Meiloorun Juice instead.
“Aww, so the little princess got a hangover?” the Balosar jeered.
“No, I didn’t!”
The keeper proceeded to make your drink, you searched for a seat; the place is so much quieter in the day than in the night. Nonetheless, you enjoyed it either time of the day. When the drink was ready, Balosar called your name and you stood up from your table. As you were about to reach for the drink, another patron—a Devaronian—snatched it and finished it in a single gulp. It all happened in a flash that you still took a minute to process what he just did.
“That was my drink!”
“Tab’s on you, missy,”
You whipped out your blaster from the flap of your poncho, you clicked the safety and pointed the barrel at his nape. His chuckle sounded more like a grumble.
“Ooh, I’m scared. What’s the little princess gonna do with a big boy’s gun?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know, ass-wipe?”
That struck a chord on the hulking Devaronian, he swung his arm and flicked away the blaster from your hand. He raised his arms in a charging attack at you, you dodged soon enough that his clenched fists landed on a table, partially shattering it in the middle; you got your blaster back and attempted to aim the blaster at him, but your hands were trembling so much that the shot merely grazed his waist. He howled in pain but immediately shrugged it off.
You were doing well in dodging the enemy’s blows, swinging his left and right arm alternately which you cleanly ducked from.
“Stay still and let me claw that pretty little face!” he roared.
A large glass bottle shattered on the back of the Devaronian’s head. The impact wasn’t hard enough to render him unconscious, although it stunned him enough to lower his defenses. When he turned around, much to your surprise, it was Cal.
“We gotta stop meeting like this,” he casually said despite the mood of the predicament.
“I strongly agree,”
Once again, you two were a tag team. It was now two against one. Normally, a Devaronian thug could take two humans no problem. But apparently that urban belief betrays the Devaronian. He was bombarded with your kicks, using anything around you as a weapon against him, Cal wasn’t using his lightsaber but his fists and he threw them so hard that you could hear the impact land on the enemy’s cheek.
Cal was the one to deliver the last blow. The Devaronian fell to the floor, the barkeeper leaned over the bar to check the knocked-out patron.
“Yep, he’s out cold, alright!”
“Thanks… again,”
“You’re welcome… again.”
A brief pause between the two of you, and the Balosar is just there standing awkwardly.
“Let me buy you a drink,” you gently tapped Cal on the chest with the back of your hand, then you turned to the Balosar. “The last one isn’t on me, understood?”
You ordered the same drink for the two of you. Like last night, both of you talked over anything that you could think of.
“Where did you learn to fight?” he asked after taking a sip.
You stammered, “Oh, uh… I had a trainer but only for a short while. Then I picked up some more moves by myself—it’s been like that ever since,”
“Hey, there’s room for improvement,”
“Was I sloppy?”
Cal shrugged and avoided the question by chugging all of what’s left of his drink. Your lips pursed a smile. You finished yours as well, you tossed a credit to the barkeeper.
“Follow me,”
“What?”
“Come on!”
Both of you left the bar and Cal followed you to the backstreets one block away from the pub. You scaled the buildings and ended up in the rooftop.
“What are we doing here?”
“I was hoping you’d teach me, since you fight better than I do.”
“It’s gonna take some time,”
“I don’t care,”
Cal saw that there is no other way in getting around with you. You were your own brand of stubborn, but he felt that you got spirit. The rest of the day was spent with Cal training you basic combat moves in case of street fights and cantina brawls like yesterday and today.
“So, where you from around these parts?”
Your fighting stance softened when he asked that question, you knew you had to make up the vaguest possible answer quick.
“Oh… a little far from here,”
“Do you hang around here more often?”
“Yeah,”
He stopped asking questions and continued giving you pointers on how to dodge, take the upper hand, and exploit an enemy’s weakness. The session lasted until dusk, you didn’t even notice the time pass. You hurried to leave the rooftop, leaving a confused Cal watching you run away from his vantage point.
“And there you go again,” he muttered under his breath.
“Boo-woop!”
“Yeah... I guess she’s kinda cute,”
A small smirk curled at the corner of his lip.

i hv to say i disagree respectfully with the last ask saying the jiang siblings turned away from wwx! the way i see it, jc has always been showing how he cares abt wwx, he was the one to pick up pieces after wwx messes up, he lost his golden core to protect wwx, he went to burial moulds bc he wants to protect wwx, he didnt tell wwx he lost his core bc he was trying to protect wwx & make wwx feel guilty... & i agree w your reply, cause jc is a sect leader he cannot afford to do things 1/?
like wwx, he has too much to consider. i honestly cant see how jc has turned away from wwx. & jyl was always the most selfless & kind, she cared for her brothers so much, she only got w jzx after he became better, he was a jerk when hes young but he even agreed to let wwx come to see jl, he really did love jyl, he didnt even do anything that terrible. but the point is how could we say jyl turned away from wwx when she literally DIED FOR HIM? 2/3
anyway i am passionate abt jiang siblings they could hv been SO much more, i loved their dynamics & yunmeng shuangjie will forever hv a place in my heart, healthy relationships are maintained by all parties & none of them are faultless because they are human ! 3/3
i’ll chuck my answer under a keep reading!
i agree with you 100% i think the yunmeng bros relationship is very complicated and there’s a lot of factors that actually play into it
the thing is he does sorta turn away from wwx in the end though, the whole reason why lwj is so antagonistic towards jc is that he didn’t do more when he could’ve, showing his support for wwx as a sect leader and as a brother would have meant a lot more than the bare minimum lwj was able to do (he blames himself for it too but that’s another lwj character study to go into that will get way too long here)
yes he does do a lot to protect wwx esp at the start when they’re ‘estranged’, he makes sure wwx gets to see his sister in her wedding clothes he does truly care about him because they’re brothers at the end of the day but he also lets the gossip and sect leader talk get to him and to me that’s his biggest character flaw
and his incapability of talking about his emotions but that’s apparently common for everyone alskdjasd
there’s a fine line to walk between not caring about what others say about him, yunmeng jiang and wwx and maintaining his reputation and respectability as a sect leader; he’s allowed to not let what others say behind their backs get to him and still be a sect leader, he didn’t have to have such violent reactions and let everything people say affect him so much but that’s literally just jc’s personality, he cares about wwx but at the same time he’s thinking ‘why did you have to go and do this, why are you making it so hard for me to try and help you’ and it quickly turns into pretty ugly thoughts
when wwx comes back, his first reaction is ‘why didn’t you come home to lotus pier the minute you came back to life’ and he’s so majorly pissed off about it, it shows that deep down he does care about him and he misses his brother but tbf it’s been 16 years (or 13 years in mdzs) and he’s spent every waking moment searching for any sign of demonic cultivation and literally just torturing them + jin ling is a reminder every day that wwx is reason why his only nephew doesn’t have parents any more SO i can see why he is a little bit more emotionally inept than usual
i personally don’t think reconciliation is possible for them in the future; respectfully maintaining distance and not at each other’s throats, yes, but i don’t think they can ever be what they were before (doesn’t mean i don’t enjoy reading yunmeng bro reconciliation fics alskdj) they’ve both said too much and hurt each other beyond their breaking points and i just don’t think a relationship that’s broken down this much can ever really be repaired
i honestly don’t know what my point was i’ve gone on such a tangent i’ve like lost track BUT IN CONCLUSION jc is a complicated angry grape and while i’m not his biggest fan (personal opinion) i can recognise that beneath all that there’s a little part of him that will always care about wwx and value his wellbeing even if he hates seeing wwx with lwj lmao
QUICK NOTE ABOUT SHIJIE, in this household we stan shijie and all the women in the untamed who all deserved better but unfortunately mxtx hates women

and now...we come to the end of our journey...the final 4 episodes of the season. who killed jason blossom? you forgot that’s what we were doing, huh. you  were way too distracted by sex archie and the jughead/betty relationship (called ‘bughead’ in universe).
i have a friend who has been watching riverdale because i have basically tricked him into doing so and frankly, what i am typing here was and is only the surface of this show’s nonsense. as he watched episodes, he reminds me of all the completely bananas shit that this show throws at you literally every second it is on screen and honestly its a relief to know that, as much as i can try to just give you some basic facts, watching the show itself is still a totally different transcendent experience. its really the only show of its kind; shamelessly stupid but unaware of it while openly delighting in all the silliest cliches presented as straight faced as possible. if these write up do anything for you at all, please, please. watch the show. you will be shocked at how much more there is to discover.

SEASON 1 (PART 4):
Tumblr media
the lost weekend: this is the one with a very special guest star in it: molly ringwald as archie’s mom! she and fred (luke perry) have been separated for some amount of time for an unknown reason. yay she’s so cute! i love her. oh uh, also they’re getting a divorce. the papers are going through. archie gets the bad news in the middle of a gaming sesh with jughead.
meanwhile, veronica meets with her dad’s lawyer (whose name is paul sowerberry?? he never shows up again despite his unbelievably silly name) and tells him she’s not giving him a good statement as to her father’s character to help him get a lesser sentence. “fuck you dad!” is the general sentiment before she stomps out to go to school.
oh man there’s a weird aspect of this show that i have neglected to mention. this isn’t something i’ve ever experienced in school so it was totally foreign and weird to me but the students have their own lounge that they mingle and talk in...at...some point during the school day?? jughead’s opening monologue of this episode makes great pains to talk about how every moment of their lives are scheduled from 8am to 3pm but there’s apparently plenty of sittin’ time where they can just laze about this random room talking about crimes they have or are going to commit. a great deal of talking happens in this room when usually you’d have to like, sneak a convo while getting shit out of your locker between classes. i dunno, it’s weird. this is where archie tells veronica about clifford blossom sending her dad to jail so he can jack the land everyone is fighting over.
archie and betty make plans to celebrate jugheads birthday by taking him to the movies, which i feel like is in poor taste given his movie house was just destroyed but whatever. with betty coming along it’ll be just like the three muskateers! betty replies “AcTuAlLy ThErE wErE fOuR mUsKeTeErS” and somehow he doesn’t beat her to death with his bookbag right there and then. betty then doubles down on the bad words flowing out of her mouth and proposes they hold a surprise party for jughead since, according to his dad, he’s never had one. i have no idea what would compel her to think he would want this. even i know he doesn’t want this and i only know him through a tv screen. on top of this she goes out of her way to invite his deadbeat alcoholic dad multiple times. i thought she was supposed to be the smart, observant nancy drew type but like...what the fuck betty. jughead does, in fact, get pretty pissed at archie just for telling his girlfriend that he even has a birthday. presumably instead of telling him he emerged fully formed from the leader of the black parade’s forehead.
after finding out from some files that her dad was receiving money monthly from clifford blossom for some unspecified reason before the arrest, veronica challenges cheryl to a dance off and wins. unfortunately, veronica cant come forward with what she knows because it would make it look like her dad put a hit out on jason in retaliation. dance off to relieve the pain.
jughead fucking hates his party and makes sure everyone knows it. this is something NORMAL people do and he is NOT normal!!! he leaves the party in a huff when cheryl shows up to get her dance off revenge by ruining the party by inviting the whole school. this is the episode where he does his famous “im a weirdo, i have a hat” speech, which is deliciously dumb. they get in a fight, while jughead’s dad talks to kevin’s boyfriend (who you will remember is a member of his gang he assigned to keep tabs on the progress of the teens looking into the whole land plot mess) while betty’s mom secretly listens in?!
cheryl activates chaos mode and locks everyone in the house so they can play a game called “secrets and sins” which is really just an excuse for her to ask everyone horrible questions to make them feel bad. veronica accuses cheryl of fucking her brother, dilton doiley tells everyone about grundy’s statutory rape of archie andrews and chuck tells everyone about dark mode betty drugging him for an impromptu bdsm session which causes jughead to go apeshit and try to throw a weak little baby punch. jughead’s dad, as the only adult who for some reason let all this happen, finally throws everyone out and tells them to go home.
archie and veronica sleep together, by which i mean, next to each other in the same room. veronica testifies on her father’s behalf and discloses to betty the link between jugheads dad and the serpents and her dad’s land plot dreams. molly ringwald appears for 20 seconds.
INHALES. OKAY.
Tumblr media
to riverdale and back again: its homecoming babey! archie’s very supportive mother has a nice talk with him. :) veronica founds out that her dad only has to serve “a few more months” in prison for his various white collar crimes, further proof that riverdale takes place in america. jughead and his dad have a nice normal breakfast while fp sweats and asks him “hey uh, how come uh you’re writing about the uhhhh murder and investigating it and stuff” like a normal dad would. archie and veronica tentatively agree to start going out.
penelopy blossom brings polly (betty’s pregnant sister, remember her? i didn’t) a strawberry milkshake in the most ominous way possible. veronica plans to sneakily find out if jughead’s dad is helping her own and for what purpose, ultimately. jughead accepts and invite to betty’s house for dinner, not knowing her mom is going to grill the shit out of him and his dad over the whole kid murder thing.
polly finds the ring jason proposed to her with back in penelope’s room while snooping, and has no idea how it wound up back in the hands of his mother. according to penelope, jason threw it in their face when he renounced his lineage, then gives her another milkshake.
the cooper family event is disrupted when betty, wise to her mother’s horseshit, invites her estranged dad to dinner too. all hell breaks loose when the subject of homecoming comes up and fp reveals that while alice and hal were crowned homecoming king and queen, they got in a knockout, drag-out fight backstage. alice flips out before he can reveal what it was about and betty and jughead flee for the dance. meanwhile archie and veronica try, and fail, to find something incriminating in fp’s trailer.
cheryl discovers the milkshakes are DRUGGED and polly is going to sleep through homecoming. she informs her parents that she has disposed of the ring (evidence) and they dont have to worry about it anymore. you can see where this is going.
jughead’s dad drops a bomb on him right before homecoming that they’re going to move to toledo to meet up with jughead’s mom and baby sister. jughead hates this bc he just got used to betty and he wants to write his murder book.
archie and veronica sing a truly terrible cover of “kids in america” that has to be seen to be believed.
youtube
meanwhile, sherrif keller tears up fp’s house with a search warrant and finds the gun that was used to kill jason blossom. WHAAAA??? BUT ARCHIE AND VERONICA JUST SEARCHED IT??? how could this happen.....jughead finds out about the web of deception weaved by the friends and tells them all to fuck off so he can go to toledo with his family. jughead literally turns around and is informed that his dad was just arrested for murder. his life is so hilariously bad.
the sheriff sucks so bad at his job because he tells his gay son everything who then spills the beans to archie and co (sans jughead) who learn that fp is being framed, because they already tossed the place before.
cheryl has the ring. at this point none of these things mean anything.
i cant believe i still have two more of these. i’m going to have to split this post after this one.
Tumblr media
anatomy of a murder: as it turns out, archie discovers, information you discover during a breaking and entering won’t hold up in court. oops. meanwhile fp inexplicably confesses to kidnapping jason after his fake drowning at sweetwater river so he could use him as ransom after discovering he heir to all that sweet maple syrup money. according to fp, jason nearly escaped so they cut their losses and blasted a hole in him. he also confesses to torching the car and stealing the sheriff's files (which we, the audience, know hal cooper did, not fp). well. that’s that, i guess.
betty’s dad comes back to the family home to destroy the murderboard evidence all like “whoo hoo! fp took a bullet for me!” hal’s concern and his reason for stealing the files in the first place, as it turns out, was because the feud between the coopers and the blossoms is more complicated than we thought. the coopers WERE blossoms, until grand-pappy was murdered, so they packed their shit and left with a new name. so that makes polly and jason related. cool!
fp apparently used his his last phone call to call kevin’s boyfriend who, after some pressing by the gang, admits that while he didnt see fp pull the trigger, he did help him put jason’s body in a freezer. this tip leads them to the corpse of a serpent who had a sack of money in a monogrammed dufflebag with the initials “h.l.” (hiram lodge). this is a comically dumb move for a crime boss to make. it is shockingly stupid.
joaquin tells kevin about a secret stash he and fp set up before he bounces from town forever because riverdale sucks. in the stash is jason’s jacket. everyone puzzles over what it means until betty, noted brain genius checks the pockets. in it they find a usb drive.
they sit down and watch the usb and react like they’re watching a sad documentary and not a snuff film. betty calls CHERYL OF ALL PEOPLE and tells her what they just saw on the usb. cheryl, queen of chaos, confronts her dad and tells him that everyone knows what he did.
it turns out the video depicts jason tied up in the basement of the whyte wyrm, there the dead serpent watches over him. clifford blossom walks in and blows a hole in his kid. fp confessed to protect jughead, who was threatened by cliff as the heat poured on.
clifford dies surrounded by his greatest love, maple syrup, by hanging himself in the syrup barn. lol
Tumblr media
the sweet hereafter: how the fuck is there another episode of this? they solved the murder, what else could there possibly be to do. wtf. anyway.
the cops find hella drugs in the maple barn after clifford’s death. the assumed story is that jason learned about his dad’s heroin smuggling business and threatened to tell the cops on his dad which lead to his abduction, and eventual death. i guess the polly thing is in here too somehow. not important i guess. the lodges prepare for hiram’s arrival. betty and archie are going to be honored by the mayor for cracking the case at the 75th annual jubilee (wtf). hermoine attempts to buy fred out of the project now that the cops are cracking down on the serpents and making them the face of the construction company is now a very bad look.
betty tries to write an article for the town paper about fp being innocent but her parents wont publish it, citing it as a conflict of interest given she’s smooching the subject’s son. jughead FINALLY JUT NOW gets a social worker who realizes that fred has a dui and is not fit to care for a kid. he has to transfer to a new school district...SOUTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL!!!
cheryl apologizes for throwing hands at jughead in a previous ep and gives him her iconic spider brooch. i am only bringing this up because she says, specifically, that selling it will net him a good amount of hamburgers and “s t-shirts” for years. why is she the only one who notices he only wears one kind of shirt. betty’s article getting published in the school paper leads to the above retaliation.
veronica’s mom honest to god asks her to sexually manipulate archie into convincing his dad to sell the project to her.
betty’s mom, after a confrontation, tells betty abt the fight she and her dad had on homecoming night when they were high schoolers. turns out...alice was pregnant. she gave the baby up for adoption after she went to the sisters of quiet mercy, like she did with polly, even though hal wanted an abortion. betty immediately tells all her friends this shit.
jughead transfers to the new high and flourishes. turns out they’re all baby gangsters there so they look at him and his dad as kings to be admired. when the archie group heads off to go rescue him, it turns out they dont need to do anything. but now that theyre all conveniently together, veronica gets a txt from cheryl saying she’s going to go be with jason....
they rush to the river where cheryl is having her ophelia meltdown in his stupid little river boat dress where she punches through the ice until she falls through. theres no way to describe how silly this scene is unless you see it so i won’t try but its so melodramatic and cheesy that youre going to be amazed that it got through the writing team at all. archie saves her by punching through the ice the other way. from under the ice. you will soon find, that all of archie’s solutions are to punch things.
betty does a speech at the jubilee that convinces fred not to sell. a nice ending for him.
meanwhile cheryl burns her fucking house down for a lark. just for the drama of it all.
the same night, jughead and betty start to fuck, as do veronica and archie. not int he same room, like totally separately. but jughead is interrupted by the serpents and a dog named hotdog, who give him a jacket of his own so he can join the team. betty is scandalized.
archie goes to meet his father for a breakfast at pop’s chocklit shoppe for a serious talk. but while he’s int he bathroom, a man with a gun is holding up the chocklit shoppe. he demands fred’s wallet, then pops a hole in him and runs off.
and that.........is where this season......ends.

Cruel Summer (Episode 54)
"I invited your parents over for dinner tonight" Angus drops this bombshell on me as we are walking into the OBGYN, "I feel like we need to tell them about the baby because Annabelle was grilling me yesterday about why you weren't drinking at two events now and how Steph swears she got your measurements right for your costume, if they've figured it out then it's only a matter of time before your parents do too and I'd rather it come from us first." I'd been trying to avoid having to announce the pregnancy to my parents, my mother especially, considering how elated she had been on Monday, finding out I had gotten into Brichester.
"Great, so I'm going to announce to my mother that I, her 19 year old daughter who just got into Uni, is pregnant with her first grandchild and I have to do this without any alcohol to calm my nerves" I stress, we step onto the elevator and he takes my hand.
"It will all be ok Princess, I'll be with you and so will Tess and Brian" He tries to reassure me but I can feel the panic rising inside me. We reach the level that the doctors offices are on and check in with the receptionist, she hands us a form to fill out.
"Oh, your surname's Green? That's my husbands surname too" The receptionist remarks when I hand the form back to her filled in, I take a look at her name tag, oh shit!!
"Just a coincidence I'm sure" I tell her, knowing exactly who she is referring to, "Can I ask who I'm seeing today?" Please don't say Dr Green, please don't say Dr Green.
"You're seeing Dr Candice Ashbury" Eliza Pancakes, the receptionist tells me and I feel relieved.
We take our seats in the waiting area, our appointment is still another ten minutes away, I rest my head on Angus' shoulder.
"So, it turns out today can get worse, My Father is a doctor here" I tell Angus, feeling even more on edge now.
"Are you sure?" Angus questions me, he places his arm around me.
"The receptionist is the woman he left My Mother for, she worked for him, or at the same clinic, well that's how I remember hearing the story" I explain, it all happened so long ago.
"You never told me that your Father was a doctor" Angus remarks.
"I think I blocked it out but when the receptionist said her husband's surname was Green it all came flooding back to me, His name is Liam Green" I tell Angus, pointing to a plaque that confirms that Dr. L. Green does work there.
"Fuck" Angus exclaims before looking over at me, "Are you alright baby?"
"I am if I don't have to see him but the longer we sit here chances are I'm going to lay eyes on the dirtbag and I don't think I can hold back" I fret. I see two doctors, one male, the other female, approach the desk and grab patient files.
"Zoey Green" The female doctor calls out, Angus and I jump to our feet and begin to follow the doctor to her office but I'm fully aware that the male doctor is watching us and we lock eyes as I walk past him, I take in his appearance, grey hair, tall and skinny, well dressed, he looks different from the man I remember but I recognise his eyes because they match my own.
Once inside the the doctors office I relax slightly but still worry that he could get a hold of my information, that he could find out where we live, not that I think he would be a threat to either Tess or myself but I really don't want anything to do with him.
"Good Morning Zoey and Angus, My name is Dr Ashbury but you can call me Candice because we are going to be spending a lot of time together over the next year" Candice introduces herself, "Zoey I'll get you to lay on the table here and I'm going to examine you"
I make my way over to the examining table as Candice looks over my file.
"So you're around 4 to 5 weeks pregnant I see, is this your first pregnancy?" She asks me.
"Yes, so I have really no idea what to expect" I tell her
"Well feel free to ask me any questions, even if you think they are stupid questions, they're not, your concerns are important to me and I've heard it all" She says as she rolls up my t-shirt and squirts some cold liquid onto my belly.
"I have a question but it's not about the baby" I say nervously, Angus comes to stand on the other side of the table and takes my hand.
"Shoot" Candice prompts me as she goes over my belly, doing an ultrasound.
"No-one else can access our personal information can they? I mean no other doctor who works here can look up my address or contact information?" I fret to my doctor and she looks at me with curiosity.
"Zoey's estranged Father is a doctor here, we didn't know until today" Angus explains to Candice
"Ah ok, well I will lock your file with a password so no-one but myself can access it" Candice reassures me, "Now are you ready for some big news?" She asks us.
"That I'm pregnant?" I laugh, five weeks in and it's less scary hearing it from doctors.
"That you're pregnant with twins" Candice says, pointing to two small spots on the monitor. I look up at Angus, his eyes wide, mouth gapping open.
"We're having twins" I whisper to him, I had prepared myself for one baby, never considering there could be more than one. Angus looks down at me and smiles widely.
"We're having twins Princess" He says to me, putting my nerves at ease, he leans down and kisses me.
Candice prints out our scan and puts it into a small folder for us to take home.
"Three more weeks and we will be able to hear the heartbeats" Candice tells us, "How are you coping with the morning sickness?"
"Some days it's good, I eat small meals and stay away from certain foods, plus I drink a lot of peppermint tea and eat dry crackers but other days it's so intense and nothing helps" I complain.
"I can prescribe something for you if you want" Candice offers but I shake my head
"I can handle it for now but I'll keep that in mind" I say, still trying to wrap my head around the news.
We thank Candice and leave her office, making sure that my Father is nowhere in sight but as we are stepping into the elevator there he is, already waiting inside.
"Going down?" He asks us, waiting to push the button.
"Ah yeah, thanks" Angus says, putting his arm around me, we ride in silence until we reach the parking lot in the basement.
"I have a daughter named Zoey, she'd be around your age too" My father decides to tell me once we are off the elevator
"You've got some nerve, making claims on a child you abandoned" Angus yells at Liam.
"So you are her? You're my daughter?" Liam asks me, ignoring Angus
"I'm Ruth and Don's daughter, you're nothing to me" I scream at him, "You made no effort to be part of our lives so don't you dare think you're entitled to call yourself my Father"
"Is that what your mother told you? That I made no effort? I tried to get shared custody and she blocked me and placed a restraining order against me, she and that nasty fucker she married stopped me from seeing my girls" Liam tells me but I don't believe him, I know my mother would never have stopped us from seeing him, he was the one who left us and never came back.
"You're a liar, you cheated on my Mother and left her to raise two children on her own without any money and Don stepped up and raised your children while you were fucking your receptionist"  I say as I storm off towards my car, Angus close behind me.
I'm so angry on the drive home, going over what that lying dirtbag said, how he claimed he made effort but my Mother blocked him from seeing us.
"I'll call around and try to get us a new doctor" Angus offers but I shake my head
"No, I like Candice, I won't let him win" I say firmly
"Did your Mum ever say anything about him, other than he cheated on her and left her for someone else?" Angus questions me and my mind races with what little information I can remember, Tess and I were only kids when it all happened but I know my Mother, she's never lied to us.
"My Mother told us the truth Angus" I snap back at him, why would he even need to doubt her, he knows her.
"I'm sorry baby, you're right, I know Ruth, this guy is just a lying sack of shit" He apologies to me and I instantly feel terrible.
"I'm the one who should be sorry, it's been a stressful morning and I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you" I tell him, "Thank you for yelling at him too, I love that you stood up for me"
I pull into our driveway, turn the car off but just cant bring myself to get out.
"Lets take our mind off the bad thing that happened today and focus on the good" Angus urges me, pulling our scan out of the folder.
"I seriously thought you were going to pass out when Candice pointed out the two spots on the ultrasound" I laugh
"Well it was a bit of a shock at first but I'm happy, just more people for us to love" He says, putting a positive spin on things but I can sense that he's just as scared as I am, I take his hand in mine and kiss it.
"You're going to be a great dad Angus, our children will be so lucky to have you" I reassure him.
"And you will be the best Mum My Princess but if we stay in this car any longer we are going to  start to melt" He says, wiping sweat from his brow, the Summer heat is blazing today.
We rush from the car into the house, luckily Tess has the air conditioner pumping as she's painting in the basement. We collapse on the lounge together, staying two feet apart so we don't sweat all over each other.
"The weather channel said there's a cool change coming tonight" Angus tells me.
"Well it cant come soon enough, my body is over heating already, trying to incubate two little people as well as suffering through this endless Summer" I complain, it hadn't rained since before Christmas and the heat was making it hard to sleep at night so I'd started taking a swim before bed each night.
"I know you're uncomfortable baby, do you wanna go away for the weekend, somewhere cool?" He asks me and I think at this point I'd be happy to go Antartica just to escape this heatwave.
"Yes please and please make it somewhere where we can be alone because I have some needs that really need to be attended to" I tell him and he just laughs
"Zo, I could attend to those needs right now" He offers but I just shake my head.
"It's way too hot, remember when we did that on Monday night? It was just unbearable, I can hold out until the weekend but you better pack the goody bag" I suggest as he searches places on his phone.
"I found the perfect place, up in the mountains so it will be a lot cooler and far away from everything, we will drive up Saturday and come back Monday" He says as he books the log cabin in the woods.
"Can we bring Lily?" I ask, I don't want to leave my fur baby at home, I love having her around, I even moved her bed into our bedroom.
"First thing I searched for was pet friendly places Zo, I wouldn't dream of leaving her at home" He assured me.
It was just too hot to even think about putting the oven on so we ordered dinner, roast lamb with green beans, potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, corn broccoli and cauliflower with gravy, Tess and I set the table together, I wanted to tell her what happened before our parents arrived.
"I saw Liam today, at the clinic I went to to see the OBGYN" I tell her.
"Liam? As in the sperm donor?" She questions me, she had refused to call him our Father for many years, not since she had changed her surname.
"Yes, that's the one" I confirm to her.
"Oh the things I'd love to say to that arsehole, starting with why he decided to name me Teresa knowing our surname was going to be Green, you got lucky Zoey, Mum picked your name" Tess laughs.
"Well I did yell at him but he still kept talking, he said that he tried to see us but Mum stopped him and got a restraining order against him" I explain to her and she looks at me in complete shock.
"That lying sack of shit, if any of that happened we would of known, we were kids but we still understood what was going on" Tess states
"What if he's not lying though?" I ask her, I don't want to doubt my Mother and what she told us about him but why would he bring up a restraining order, knowing that that's something we could look into.
"Well I want nothing to do with him, I have a father and it's Don, we don't need Liam, we got by just fine without him" Tess says firmly, throwing the cutlery down on the table and storming off.
My parents arrive to the sound of Tess slamming her bedroom door.
"Well I see some things never change" Don laughs, handing Angus a bottle of red wine.
"I'll go talk to her" Brian offers, coming in the door behind my parents.
"I'll go, you've been at work all day and I'm the one who upset her so it's only right that I fix it" I tell him
The others move into the dinning room to give us privacy and I knock on Tess' bedroom door.
"Go away Zoey" She yells through the door, I ignore her request though and open the door. I hate that I've caused her to be upset.
"How did you know it was me?" I ask her once inside the room.
"I know your knock" She states, laying on her bed, facing the wall, refusing to look at me.
"I'm sorry I upset you Tess, it wasn't my intention, you're the last person I would ever want to hurt" I apologise to her and she rolls over, I can see she's been crying, her mascara has run a little.
"I'm not angry at you Zoey, I'm angry at him and how he lied to you and made you doubt Mum" Tess explains to me, I climb into bed and lay beside her, wiping away her tears.
"Don is our dad, Liam is nothing to us" I assure her and she smiles at me, "But I need you to come out and have dinner with us because I'm going to tell Mum and Don that I'm pregnant with twins and I need my own twin sister to be there as support" I watch Tess as her eyes go wide.
"Twins?" She screams at me
"Shh yes, twins, now lets get you fixed up so we can face the world together" I say, grabbing a tissue from her nightstand and wiping the mascara streaks from her cheeks.
We join the others in the dinning room, Angus has opened the bottle of wine and hands Tess a glass as we take our seats, Brian places a plate in front of us, it smells so good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Thank you for inviting us to dinner" My Mother says to Angus.
"You're welcome Ruth, we just thought it would be a great opportunity to talk" Angus says, jumping straight in but I'm not ready yet.
"Talk about what, this sounds serious, is everything alright?" Don frets, looking at each of us.
"I saw Liam today" I blurt out, it seemed like the safer subject to start with
"Where?" My Mother asks me, I can see the panic coming across her face, Don reaches over and takes her hand and whispers something to her.
"At that clinic downtown" I tell her.
"Why were you at the clinic downtown Zoey? Mum asks me worried, "Is Liam your doctor?"
"Liam isn't my doctor Mum but he was working at the clinic" I explain
"Did he talk to you?" Don asks me, he's trying to keep calm but even he is nervous, I've never seen Don lose his cool.
"He did, when we were leaving, he recognised my name when it was called and confronted us in the carpark, making false claims" I tell my parents.
"What did he say Zoey?" My mum asks nervously, I can see she's trembling
"He said he tried to see us and you stopped him and got a restraining order, I told him that he was a lying dirtbag" I say but I can see on her face, she afraid, the truth is out.
"Ruth it's alright" Don whispers to Mum in a soothing tone.
"Is it true?" Tess asks our parents, "Did he try to see us?"
"Yes" My Mother admits before breaking down in tears
"I don't understand, you told us that he wanted nothing to do with us" Tess yells at Mum
"I was protecting you" My Mother says in a tiny voice, her head hung low, she looks up and her eyes meet mine "Why were you even there Zoey, that clinic is for pregnant women"
"Ah, well that's what we wanted to talk to you about" Angus speaks up, trying to get the conversation back onto it's original course.
"Please don't tell me that you got my 19 year old daughter pregnant after you made promises to us that her education would be a priority" My Mother says to Angus in a tone I'd never heard her use before, she was more angry than what I was expecting, "We trusted you"
"Really? You want to talk about trust Mum? You who lied to your daughters about their own father wanting to be in their lives because you were a bitter bitch who got cheated on" Tess screams at Mum, Brian puts his arms around her to try and calm her but she's too enraged.
"Teresa for once in your life would you shut up" Mum yells at my sister.
"Like you did?" I yell back at Mum, "You kept your mouth shut for years, knowing the truth so you don't get the right to come into my house and yell at my sister. I think you should leave, you've ruined dinner anyway."
My Mother gets to her feet and walks out of our house, leaving Don alone with us.
"Your Mum loves you girls, please remember that and I love you too" Don says to Tess and I before leaving the house.
We cover the food and place it in the fridge, no-one was feeling hungry after what happened tonight.
"I'll call Immie and let her know I'm not coming in tomorrow, we can get away a day earlier that way" Angus offers after we've cleaned the kitchen
I'm sorry Angus, I'm so sorry my Mum yelled at you, this isn't your fault" I tell him, feeling the tears stinging my eyes.
"Your mum is just in shock Zoey, it was a lot to dump on her tonight and I know that she didn't mean anything by what she said, I love your Mum" Angus says, taking me into his arms to comfort me.
"I'll never trust her again, she lied to us for years" I cry
"I think there's more to this than what we know, I don't think your Mum is the bad guy" Angus tells me but I'm too angry to see her in any other light

Hiruma is trans and here’s why
Tumblr media
estranged himself from his parents as early as possible and in general seems to have a pretty distant relationship with them
also became financially independent as early as possible
bonded with adult strangers over his peers (much easier to pass when you havent been in school with them since childhood)
his drastic appearance change (dyed hair, piercings)
as lots of trans people and gay people in general know, modifying your body in small ways like haircut and piercings to establish control over it in that way since you cant in others and feel that much more masculine is a big thing
when he finally gets himself friends who accept him, he is extremely loyal to them and forms a very close-knit group
“We dont have to waste asking for things we dont have. We can only look for the best way to fight with the things we have for our whole life.”
This quote is basically the pinnacle of hiruma’s arc, and sums up how his arc as a whole is relatable to the trans experience
A lot of his arc is about him versus the limitations of his body (how fast he can run, how fast he can throw, how quickly he can think of plans) and ultimately he came to terms with himself as is and now just looks “for the best way to fight” with it as is
Pretty self-explanatory parallel to the experience of dysphoria that ends on an optimistic note of being confident and comfortable in one’s own skin
And finally, I think we all just see him as a role model. Oftentimes you have to repress a large part of yourself and be cautious when in public because you never know if you’re safe or if the people aorund you will accept you, and you’re very very aware of how youre being seen and interpreted gender-wise. But hiruma, who is bold and brash and completely unashamadley himself at all times in the most bombastic ways possible, is the opposite of that, and in that way he’s what we wish we could be, loud and proud and not giving a flying fuck what the rest of society says

Im literally screaming at your new room, like bitch i live in new york and i cant even find a room that pretty???? You hit the damn jackpot??? Best of luck, i hope you adore your new place and have the best time in nyc!!!!
THANK YOU okay so i like telling this story because i’m so proud of myself for pushing so hard and generally annoying everyone i could until i got this room, but to be fair i also happened to be in the right place at the right time but one of my friends who lives in nyc added me to a bunch of facebook roomsharing groups which i scrolled OBSESSIVELY for about three days and i sent dozens (DOZENS) of messages of which only about 10 got answered. i saw the pictures for this room and sent them a fb message but i think the guy was just reposting from CL because the message (and the dozens of “messaged you!” comments on the listing) never got answered. i kept looking back at the pictures though and i didn’t have much hope cause it was one of those MUST MAKE 40X RENT/ GOOD CREDIT/GUARANTORS WELCOME listings and i have neither of those things. so i happened to notice there was also a phone number on the listing and i texted the guy (he manages move ins for the landlord) on impulse at 3 am like pretty please could you possibly rent me without any of those im very responsible and i have no parents to be my guarantor because it’s close to the truth and who doesn’t love an orphan. and he said maaaaybe he’d try to sway the landlord cause he’s nice. so we chat a bit, and he’s very helpful, and then he gives me a different address and i’m like no i’m calling about this other address, and he’s like oh. then no because that landlord is strict. and i’m like ): so long story short i asked some american adults that i am aquainted with if they could be my guarantors and they said no, which like, reasonable, and then i remembered that my estranged cousin is married to an american and i messaged her for the first time in 4 years and asked her if her husband could pretty please be my guarantor and he said YES and then as i am working out the paperwork with him the guy is like i just showed the room to someone else, if you want it you need to put in a deposit today and i freaked out because half of my deposit is STILL stuck in my store and i thought i had until the 1rst of next month and SO HERE WE ARE. i keep scrolling the roomshare groups because it’s like crack and i still haven’t seen a room as cute as this one.

Future Perfect
(A Westallen Campfire Tale)
(with new revisions)
Way back in S3, when I was still grappling with my unaddressed Westallen baggage, I made a Season 1 AU.
Dawn Allen of the original timeline follows Thawne and her father to Flashpoint but comes out in 2014. She gets stuck there much like Thawne did, because her timeline had been erased. So she creates a fake identity and gets a job at the CCPD as a fellow lab tech filling in for Barry while he's in a coma and decides to bide her time and watch over her father as he gains his powers.
In Dawn Allen's timeline, Barry's family moved away when he was twelve and he lost touch with Iris till he came back to Central and joined the CCPD. Meanwhile, Joe and Iris grew increasingly distant, Iris chafing at Joe's restrictions and Joe growing sterner and more fearful till they became alienated. When Iris discovered the truth about her mother, the estrangement was completed.
Barry and Iris fell in love almost immediately and married soon after. They were both much older when the Particle Accelerator blew and gave Barry his powers.
Iris was considered the first lady of the JLA and the matriarch of the Flashes. Dawn grew up idolizing her parents love story and their achievements, although always rather puzzled at her mother's distant relationship with Grandpa Joe. Henry died of natural causes in his fifties but Nora lived to old age and was a loving mother-in-law and grandmother.
When Dawn Allen arrives in 2014, she finds herself already losing memories of her beloved grandmother. She preserves all the memories of the original timeline in her own version of Gideon created by Barry expressly for his children, in which he has stored his and Iris's own memories to call their children home wherever they may be.
At first she is eager to see for herself how her parents' love story plays out. But soon gets upset when her mother starts sleeping with some guy who's also the ancestor of the man who destroyed their family. The upset turns to horror when she realizes Barry has no intention of telling Iris the truth.
With every bold-faced lie that drives the wedge between Barry and Iris further, Dawn becomes more and more disillusioned and heartbroken. She cant reconcile these people with the image she has of her parents. She was always cold to Eddie, but where once she was eager to please and warm with Barry, she now almost hates him.
But it's Joe that's the real cause of all this. Barry coming to live with them may have saved Joe and Iris's relationship, but neither of them ever challenged his authoritarianism and simply accepted his fear-based, patriarchal worldview. Henry and Nora weren't perfect but Barry growing up with a strong female presence meant that he never saw Iris as someone to be protected. Iris's hard-won independence and self-focus away from her father never materialized in this timeline, instead being caught up in the emotional needs of the men in her insular little family and letting it define her.
Things finally come to a head when Thawne finally reveals himself. Dawn takes him by surprise and helps Barry take him down but the timeline is irrevocably broken. Even if Barry went back and reset events, Dawn's own future would still be erased, and along with it her memories. She finally explodes, taking Joe and Barry to task for treating Iris with such disrespect, finally telling Eddie that she cant help resenting him for being the one who loves her mother the way Barry is supposed to and expressing her irrational unhappiness at how Iris hadn't chosen Barry, despite having been best friends for years. These are not the parents she has idolized, and she despairs of ever being able to return to the family she left behind, or see them the same way again.
Barry and Iris, Eddie and Joe see the memories Dawn's parents have stored in Gideon flashing through the time vault - their reconnecting, Barry proposing to Iris, their wedding, working as a team from the first, having children, Iris always being Barry's lightning rod.
Iris is betrayed and devastated and cant even begin to process it. Joe is bowed under the consequences of his duplicity. Barry is full of regret and guilt. Only Eddie finally realizes that no matter how much he loves Iris, he never had any place in this story.
Iris objects.
"I don't belong to anyone. My life is my own."
"Is it? So what. You're just going to let Dawn be erased?"
"I don't know. Am I supposed to just get over all of this so Barry and I can get together and save her?"
"That's up to you, Iris. All I know is that I don't belong here."
"That's not true. You belong to me. I'm choosing you, Eddie."
"There's a difference between choosing something just so you get to choose and choosing because you really want it, Iris."
"What're you saying?"
"I know you love me. But it's never been me you've really wanted."
Cisco then realizes that that timeline could not have disappeared without causing a paradox. The other timeline still exists, albeit in flux, anchored by Dawn's own presence as a time remnant. They figure out a way to use Dawn's memories stored in Gideon to piece the timeline back together so that it coalsces into an alternate universe running parallel to this one. Just as Barry created the speed force but once created it encompasses the length and breadth of time itself, they can create Dawn's universe so that it was always birthed by Earth1, which in turn created Dawn's AU, looping the universes together.
They have to use Eobard's expertise, Cisco's powers, Dawn's energy as a touchstone and Gideon's time drive to do this. At first it seems as though they have failed. Eobard turns on Dawn in a fury - only to be blasted back by her mother, appearing through the restored timeline like a wrathful Sigourney Weaver. Dawn's father, full-fledged, mature, experienced superhero, more than Thawne's equal, finally gets to fight his nemesis and beat him soundly.
In the aftermath, Dawnie sobs out all her woes in her parents arms. Instead of being appropriately shocked and horrified however, they are mostly concerned and amused. Iris reveals that she once walked out on Barry in the early years of his superhero career and that he moved out once when they were very small. The relationship Dawn has idolized has never been perfect, never been free of bad choices and conflict. But its still special because it means they chose to rebuild it time and time again, forgave each other and chose each other no matter what.
"We're not some gold standard, Dawnie. We're human and we mess up. That's how we know it's real."
Older Barry goes to talk to Iris. She asks him about what it was like when he first got his powers and worked as a team with his wife. Then asks him sadly what she had done to not be what her Barry needed. Older Barry tells her gently that we each wrestle with our own demons and the consequences of that struggle sometimes fall unwittingly on our loved ones, but not as a punishment. He tells her that he cant claim to be morally superior or better than his younger counterpart, because he doesn't know who he would be if his own parents had been ripped away, or who younger Barry would have become if Joe hadnt been there to protect and love him, flawed and imperfect as that love was. At the end of the day, Iris has to choose what she wants to do with those consequences. Nothing she chooses is either good or bad, but simply her own to face.
Older Iris speaks with Barry. To her amusement, he reminds her more of Don than her husband.
He says he is sorry to have treated her counterpart so shabbily.
"I think that's something she should hear, not me."
"Aren't you disappointed in me too?"
"Why? You're not my kid." She laughs, "Okay, so if I was her I'd kick your ass. But I'm not her. I've lived a lot longer and seen many stupid choices made by people who should know better. Fact is, Barr, you're a kid and you made a mistake. Doesn't mean you get a free pass, but it isn't the end of the world."
"What if she never forgives me?"
"Then you have to live with that. You have to live with it and still forgive yourself." *sigh* "You can't let your choices be defined by other people, Barry. Not even the ones you love. That's where you went wrong. You thought you'd tell her about your feelings only if she loved you. You thought you'd tell her the truth only if she saw you first. You didn't stand up to Joe because you were afraid of his disapproval. God knows no one can stop you once you go full tilt, Barry Allen, but you can't hold yourself back from the things you need to do because other people won't give you what you want."
"I was angry." *buries face in hands* "I told myself it was because Joe told me not to tell her, but honestly it was because I was angry. I woke up and she was with Eddie. She saw him, she saw the Flash but never ever saw me." *slumps* "I know that's awful."
*shrug* "It's how you felt. What you did was bad, but feelings aren't wrong or right. They just are."
"But he was better, wasn't he? Your Barry?"
"He's different. He lived a different life. We didn't grow up together. We weren't each other's first loves. He's not perfect, Barr. Neither am I. We've hurt each other pretty badly too. But he and I...we fall in love with each other a little more after every break. And every single time, it feels a little more precious."
Older Iris finally goes to see Joe. He's almost broken.
"Dawn told me I don't have much of a relationship with you where you come from."
"No. I was headstrong, you were controlling."
"Guess I'm destined to mess it up, then."
"Destiny has nothing to do with it. You were the one who lied. The one who's still lying." *meaningful look*
*crying* "I'm going to lose her forever, aren't I?"
"Maybe." *sigh* "I couldn't forgive you for the longest time. But then sometimes, with Barry, with my own kids...don't get me wrong, I hate what you did. But maybe I get why."
"I always told myself that it was to protect you. But I think it became more to protect myself."
*weary shrug* "That's usually how it goes. Kids are hard." *wry smile* "I guess we all only start forgiving our parents once we have our own."
*weak laugh* *scrubs face* "What do I do?"
"Let her go."
"What?"
"Let her go. Let her feel what she wants, do what she wants. Maybe she'll come back to you. But you need to build a life for yourself that doesn't involve her."
"I don't -"
"The only way to be a good parent is to stop living for your kid so your kid gets to live for themselves. Figure out who you are when you're not a cop or a father. You can't put it all on her...Dad."
"Guess you really have learned from my fuck-ups, huh?"
*modest shrug* "Can't make 'em all myself."
Cisco opens a portal and Older Barry and Iris stand flanking their daughter, saluting a final farewell to their younger counterparts and Joe.
Barry goes back to talk to Iris.
"You don't have to see me or talk to me," *leaning his forehead on her door, fingertips trailing over it as though to feel hers through the wood* "I know I haven't been any kind of friend that you deserve. But I need you to know. You asked me if I laughed at you, if I looked down on you. I never did. It wrecked me not to tell you, to hold myself back from telling you the truth. I don't even know why I did it. All I knew was that you looked at me the way I had wanted you to my entire life, and I was too greedy and selfish to let that go. I never let myself think what would happen when you finally found out. You know I'm good at not thinking about consequences. Like that time I tried to impress you by climbing old Mrs.Leroy's crabapple tree. I didn't think, I just did it and I got stuck, Iris. And this time you couldn't be there to talk me down. Because it was you I was hurting," *trying not to cry* "I don't know how to make it right with you, or if I ever can. I don't expect anything of you, or hope for anything more than you're ready to give. But please just let me know whatever you need to not hurt anymore. And I promise I will never ever lie to you about anything ever again" *chuckles through tears, remembering their old childhood vow* "I promise on all the mac and cheese in the world. On all the miles I'll ever run. On all the memories you've ever given me. On everything that I love. I promise, I promise, I promise." He wipes his eyes on his sleeve and leaves, not knowing that Iris is sitting down on the floor next to the door, silently crying.
In the morning he finds a letter telling him that she needs some space but she'll come back and talk once she's ready.
Six months later, Barry gets a call as he weaves through the summer rain in front of Jitters. It's Iris.
He stands stock still and stammers if she's decided to come back.
"Yeah, I have. I think I'm ready to make a clean start, if you are."
"God, yeah. I am," he laughs, bewildered by his good fortune. "I meant it, Iris, I don't expect anything -"
"I know," she says quietly. "And I don't think I'm ready for...that, yet. I might be, eventually though," the world stops and he's afraid to breathe wrong. "But I swear to God, Barry Allen, if you ever lie of hide anything from me again -"
"I won't, I swear! I promised didn't I?"
"Yeah. You did," he can hear the grudging smile in her voice and his heart lifts.
He clears his throat. "When are you coming? Do you want me to pick you up or-"
"I'm already here, actually."
"Wait what?"
"Look behind you."
Iris stands across the road, waving at him. He draws up in front of her as though in a dream.
"Hi," he breathes, a grin blooming uncontrollably.
She tucks a curl behind her ear, reflecting his tremulous joy back at him. "Hi."
Just like that, they fall in love again. And this time, it feels a little more precious.

I absolutely adore your thoughts on the psychological health within the SLBP characters! If you don’t mind, could you scale MidC, DtL, and IkeSen (pick whichever game you want!), too? If it’s not too much to ask ☺️
Hello, Precious! Let’s do all three!
Again, purely for fun! And, like the last time, there will be SPOILERS!
0=unstable, 50=borderline, 100=normal
MidCin, you’re up!
Louis (65):
Tsunderes, kuuderes and yanderes, by design, are not normal to begin with, because their logic only makes sense to themselves.
Louis being both a kuudere and a yandere are what take his score down.
Frequently thinking it to himself, and sometimes saying it out loud, Louis has obsessive thoughts about wanting to keep his love interest to himself, and fantasizes about keeping her somewhere where only he can see.
He also thinks that acting like a frigid ass, like the nobles, will somehow save her from the nobles.
Even though Louis falls deeply in love with the princess, he will also lie to her face without a hint of hesitation, undermine her hard work, and jeopardize the stability of the monarchy.
He also entertains a suicidal fantasy, and attempts to see it through.
Sid (80):
Even though he lies for a living, Sid praises honesty when it comes to his inner circle.
He has no qualms teasing Louis left and right, because he’s made it known to Louis that he wants to save him from himself.
Finding himself trapped in a loveless engagement, Sid makes sure that his fiancée knows ahead of time that he doesn’t love her and never will. He gives her the chance to break it off, even making sure that she understands that he will take other lovers, and is only with her to get information about her father.
Because Sid always has to be “on,” in order to take advantage of any kind of situation, so that he gets the information he needs to do his job, Sid sometimes has a problem with reigning it in and just being himself– and not his trickster alter ego.
This causes communication problems between him and princess, but Sid always knows how to smooth it over.
In every case where parents are involved, in MidCin, Sid has the most positive and supporting relationship with his.
He is close to his adopted father, who always has his back, and builds a positive relationship with his estranged parents.
Giles (70):
Anything– and I do mean A N Y T H I N G ! –that the princess does, whether positive or negative reflects on Giles. And I mean that the princess’ reactions reflect on Giles as a person and on his capacity as a Chamberlain who knows what he’s doing.
We all give him crap for it, but one small mishap from princess could realistically cost Giles his entire life’s work, since the first thing out of anyone’s mouth would be to question why she wasn’t taught and trained better– which isn’t Leo’s job, but Giles’.
And “well, I told her not to!” isn’t a valid answer. It’s Giles’ job to ensure.
Understandably, we can see why he has a vested interest in breathing down Princess’ neck, all the time. It’s also why he’s always so stressed out, and persnickety.
To add to that, his family life is complicated, leaving him depressed and estranged.
Giles is also sickly, and prone to bouts of fever, so his plate is quite full.
He works himself to the bone, and cant even get a decent amount of rest due to both lack of time, and a weak body.
Fortunately, Giles’ strong character keeps him running, even we he wants nothing more than to crawl into bed and cuddle up with his cat.
Always able to be depended on, one would never know from looking at him that he’s hiding so much turmoil inside.
Alyn (75):
His biggest “quirk” is that he hates tomatoes. who can blame him
He’s pretty damn normal, aside from his random and intense one-sided feud with his twin brother, Leo.
Alyn knows that his brother needs help, but doesn’t really do much to facilitate that, beyond throwing a few words of encouragement at his brother’s girlfriend.
His attitude toward Leo’s anguish is basically the embodiment of the phrase: “like pouring water on a drowning man.”
However, when he’s needed, Alyn will be there in a pinch, ready to make good on his promise to protect.
Although physically strong, he can be a bit of a pushover under the right conditions.
Leo (50):
You would think for someone who has women climbing into trebuchets in order to launch themselves at him, that Leo would be a little smoother than he is.
What brings his score down so low is that Leo’s backstory isn’t just a backstory– it’s right there with him in the present.
He (and Alyn) experience a trauma so deep that it continues into adulthood.
As such, Leo entertains the dangerous idea of pre-meditated murder in the hope of avenging his family, not realizing that he’s also contributing to its destruction.
Byron (65):
It’s supposed to be looked at as a way to get to know him, but not being aware of one’s own feelings– positive, negative, or neutral –and questioning whether it is “okay” to feel them, or express them, is neither normal nor cute.
Byron is also given to whims, either not giving a damn at all what the nobles say, or purposefully putting them in their place with ostentatious displays of affection.
Byron is very sweet to his romantic interest, but is also coldly indifferent to others who are close to him.
He understands that he wields incredible power, but he’s not above making his own brother (Nico), another king (Alyn), and a close friend (Louis) essentially beg on their hands and knees before he’ll lift a finger to help them.
He can also be unnervingly detached, such as when he’s attacked in broad daylight and just shrugs it off while his best friend throws himself bodily in the way to block a sword.
Byron may not like his father, but the apple didn’t exactly fall far from the tree, either.
They may not be exactly alike, as one wouldn’t expect them to be– they’re two different people –but he is definitely Gerald Wagner’s son, by blood and to some extent, personality.
Nico (65):
When the only thing that stops you from murdering a man in the middle of the woods is that your brother and his friend arrived just in time to prevent it, because they didn’t have much trouble following the trail of other people’s blood that you’ve been leaving, have a seat because you’re not normal.
Nico started out his young life as the bastard son of a king, who was forced by circumstances outside of his control to survive on the streets.
Even when he was taken in by his brother, Nico was forced to live in two different worlds: in the light as someone that everyone in the castle can see and here, and know that he’s there, but also in the shadows, as his relationship to the royal family was still kept secret.
In that sense, the sins of the father were carried on by one of his sons, Byron, who wanted to rescue his brother, but also treated him to some extent like the nobles who had chased Nico and his mother from the castle.
Nico says himself that no one really takes him seriously about anything, and that his opinions don’t matter.
Albert is very comfortable with making Nico his whipping boy right in front of Byron.
Byron, for his part, barely ever defends his brother.
All of this can’t be easy for Nico, who confesses to the first person he crushes on.
Not only that, he goes way out of his way, almost killing himself, to protect the person who truly loves him, and risks displacing a monarchy to ensure that he can maintain his relationship.
Albert (75):
Albert’s flippant nature stems from the fact that no one’s checked his ass, before Princess.
If not for her, he would continue on forever, bowing and scraping before his king, without realizing that there can be loyalty beyond fealty, and devotion that transcends admiration and patriotism.
Through love, Albert comes to understand trust and forgiveness, and how to handle one’s emotions.
Albert likes to plan for every situation, but as a tsundere, he is also reactionary.
Robert (65):
Robert’s idea of dealing with the past is never talking about it, ever, which is neither helpful nor healthy.
He also likes to literally run away from his problems, and is just fine with up and leaving at a moment’s notice, with no regard for how that might potentially unnerve, frighten, or traumatize another person– in his case, a group of four specific individuals, all still technically children, who were close to him: Byron, Albert, Nico, and Princess.
While mature in every other regard, Robert is prone to lashing out verbally when people try to talk about his past, even in private.
He also uses stone walling and pretending the incident didn’t happen, as defense mechanisms.
He will also actively ignore any past connections until doing otherwise suits his purposes, leaving the people he used to know in the awkward position of having to guess at whether they’re supposed to try to reach out to him, or go along with acting like strangers.
Now for DtL!
Todo (30):
Todo, first name Heisuke, is the identical twin of Kyo.
Separated at birth, Todo grew up as the wealthy little lord (bocchama) of a crime-ridden family.
At some point, that house fell, and Todo would frequently dream that was in a futuristic place.
In one dream, he discovered that he had a twin, Kyo.
In his dreams, Todo would visit his brother regularly, and that’s when he realized that it wasn’t a dream at all!
Todo possesses the ability to travel across time, backwards and forwards, without restriction– and what he was seeing in his “dreams” was actually real.
Oh, and he’s also a pathokinetic empath who can control the emotions and physical well-being of others, most notably, Kyo.
Apparently, the knowledge that one has powers such as these will mess a person right up, and Todo proceeds to lose his damn mind.
Because time means nothing to him, death and life also mean nothing to him, since all he would have to do is press fast forward or rewind or whatever he does, and “fix” everything.
It would also mean, if he chose to, he could go forward in time and know everything.
Living in an era where superstitions are still deeply rooted in the culture, Todo oscillates between understanding that Kyo is a completely separate person from himself, and thinking that Kyo is literally a part of him that was split off.
Kyo (70):
Pretty normal until he takes his NOTICE ME, SENPAI! act straight into outright threatening others to stay away from the woman he’s crushing on.
He is skeptical and hard-working.
Handsy, clingy and uncomfortably honest when drunk, Kyo is otherwise a good-natured person who enjoys helping others.
Yamazaki (85):
Yamazaki is as popular with the ladies as any other ikemen, but he is also insecure and occasionally distrusting of other’s intentions, particularly around women in the RLD, whom he suspects want to use him (he’s half-right).
He also lets Okita get away with far too much, but he also possesses the power to lay Okita out like a picnic blanket, if he wanted to, so maybe it’s a good thing that Yamazaki chooses to let so many of Okita’s shenanigans slide.
An unrepentant hand fetishist, Yamazaki may look and act innocent, but he’s a beast in the bedroom.
Saito (80):
Saito is secretive and mysterious, but also kind and helpful.
He always keeps his promises, and trains his MC in self-defense so that she has an added layer of protection in an unfamiliar place, beyond ‘I know a bunch of samurai, so don’t mess with me.’
However, he can also be distant and secretive in a negative way, such as getting himself a fiancée when he’s still in love with his MC.
Haru/Kirisato (45):
That moment when the year is 1864 and The Silence of the Lambs novel won’t be published until 124 years later, and you’re talking about someone else’s skin belonging to you– while being completely, creepily serious –is how you know you’re not normal and never will be.
That and the fact that he’s very firmly in yandere territory.
Haru lives a double life as a spy, hitman, and courtesan, who seems to be keeping it all together, until he meets his love interest.
Keiki (60):
Not only does Keiki start out depressed, his own MC makes sure that he can barely climb his way back out, by actively traumatizing him when he needed her the most.
Keiki still carries the pain of watching a friend die in front of him, and as such, dislikes anything that reminds him that beauty– like life –is fleeting.
He is also surprisingly trusting, once he lets his guard down, and very fragile once his trust has been broken.
Kondo (90):
His biggest flaw is that he has no sense of direction, and that he loves animals, but they don’t love him,  AND THAT HE DOESN’T HAVE A ROUTE!
Sakamoto (85):
Stubborn and brusque, Sakamoto has a preternatural intuition that has saved him and The Exclusionists more than once.
Too bad it didn’t help in that alley!
Sakamoto is typically chased down and pestered by women, and to that end tries to make himself inconspicuous as much as possible, which is easy to do when you have flaming red hair.
He is thick-headed, but also sensitive, playful but considerate.
Okubo (85):
A graduate of the Byron Wagner School for Robots, Okubo doesn’t know what love is, but wants you to show him.
But look out, because he is chock full of naughty kinks, such as being a very frisky and bold drunk, playing footsie, an unashamed ear kissing and biting fetish, and dominating during sex.
Okubo is very observant when he’s not reading at the speed of light, and his anger is prone to his whims– sometimes he briefly says what is bothering him, and other times he is quite angsty and demanding.
Although he often vague, he is a sincere person.
He is also forgetful, and has no qualms about mooching off of others.
Katsura (90):
Energetic and suave, calculating and capable, Katsura is surprisingly sensitive.
Unable to leave others alone when they need him, he even goes so far as to politely ignore the fact that his former friend’s wife has been coming on to him for years, all because he doesn’t know how to say ‘no,’ without hurting her feelings.
Comfortably open about his hair fetish.
Okita (55):
Okita manages to be both gullible and naïve, which are not mutually exclusive.
His score is low because he is a yandere. He doesn’t find it odd in the slightest that the first thing to pop into in his mind is orchestrating another man’s death, rather than explaining the situation.
Because of his illness, Okita is understandably depressed and anxious, causing him to react to situations in ways that a healthy person wouldn’t.
He is also intensely loyal, and finds that a life spent living without the people he’s close to, is no life at all.
Hijikata (75):
Hijikata likes to take on more than he can chew, but at the same time, doing exactly that frustrates him. He’s super stressed, but finds it difficult to say no.
Like his real-life counterpart, Hijikata believes that someone must go down with the ship, and he has sworn undying loyalty to the Shinsengumi and the shogun, alike.
Because of his workload, and the fact that he is a light sleeper, Hijikata spends his days running on fumes, barely able to get any shut-eye, until he finds his MC.
Although his devotion to Kondo and Keiki is unshakable, Hijikata folds like a cheap suit when Kyo slides up to him and tells him to break up with his MC.
Doesn’t give a damn about anyone knowing that he likes women’s accessories, and wants to dress Yamazaki in women’s clothes.
Yuki (90):
Gender-fluid, bi-sexual Yuki is almost always bubbly and positive.
However, he is not above threatening others when he sees the need, as he doesn’t take kindly at all to having to watch the woman he likes be with a man whom he feels doesn’t deserve her.
His kimono shop is a legitimate business, but also a front where one can buy guns, swords and yes– smoke bombs!
He sometimes pretends to be drunk to get information, or further the romance of his love interest and her chosen partner.
He is stronger than Hijikata and Sakamoto. Combined.
Yuki also has sword skills that make Saito weep.
Takasugi (55):
Retroactively forced into the kuudere box, Takasugi is now a kuu/tsun mix of volatile angst and depression, often using silence as a weapon just as much as his angry retorts.
Takasugi knows that his illness is getting the best of him, and uses others where he cannot succeed on his own.
Stubborn and prideful, Takasugi just wants to be loved, but doesn’t know how to be straightforward about it.
Your turn, IkeSen!
Nobunaga (75):
Nobunaga has inexhaustible trust and faith in his inner circle, and rather than treat them like lesser lords, he treats them like family.
Even as an adult, he still experiences the trauma of a failed assassination attempt, and cannot sleep comfortable until he meets his MC.
He is stubborn about his feelings, denying them and excusing them away, until they become so blatant that he can’t help but act on them.
Ieyasu (55):
Hard-headed and resistant, Ieyasu has a hard time letting others care for him. Quick to try to prove himself, Ieyasu is prove to bouts of seeking vengeance even when the situation is in control.
Obsessed with affirmations of love, Ieyasu is several different dere-types, most notably a yandere.
He takes it personally when people have talent, but squander it.
Hideyoshi (60):
Loyal to the death, Hideyoshi is devoted to Nobunaga with every fiber of his being.
When Nobunaga is believed dead, Hideyoshi proceeds nose dive into a pit of despair so deep that he can barely feel anything.
Mitsuhide (75):
Genuinely believing that there is nothing worth loving about him, Mitsuhide is a sadodere who enjoys teasing others– the closest thing to love that he thinks he’s allowed to have.
Because Mitsuhide keeps his feelings and secrets close to his chest, he is often mistaken as a villain, which exactly what he wants.
Mitsunari (80):
Obtuse and clueless, Mitsunari lovable and pure.
His score is lowered because he actively refuses, at his age, to learn to take care of himself, and has a co-dependent relationship with the other warlords, who merely joke or chastise him about it, rather than taking him aside and demanding that he get himself together, since he is in no capacity a child.
Kennyo (55):
Self-loathing, and chock full of martyr complex, Kennyo goes from murdering madman to regretful, forlorn monk at the speed of light.
His determination to see Nobunaga fall blinds him to the fact that he has other options such as forgiveness.
Shingen (90):
Laid back and chivalrous, Shingen is mature, and dependable to those in his inner circle.
He keeps his illness a secret, which is a personal choice.
Kenshin (50):
A yandere bent on keeping those close to him, Kenshin honestly believes that he cannot die.
The first thing out of Kenshin’s mouth is that he won’t be cowed by a hostage, but the next time you turn around, he’s wrapping himself all kinds of ways around his MC’s (hostage) finger, the better to acquiesce to her every request.
As such, Kenshin experiences the cognitive dissonance of presenting himself one way, but behaving another.
Even knowing that that is how others see him, he is quick to defend himself when made fun of, as he doesn’t like his good intentions joked about.
Battle hungry and single-minded, Kenshin is often in the grip of ennui so strong that only extreme circumstances can pull him out.
Yukimura (70):
The only thing that brings Yukimura’s score down so low is his penchant for joking even when his MC has said she’s had enough, and the act that he’s extremely reactionary under the right circumstances, such as having sex on an unprotected battlefield and leaving his love interest there, deep asleep, with no shelter or anyone/thing to keep her safe.
Masamune (75):
Quixotic and capricious, Masamune is always raring to battle. He is preoccupied with appearing cool at any cost, but is also considerate and thoughtful.
His stubbornness is what cost him a higher score, as he contributes to his MC almost killing a man to prove herself, before he realizes that prattling about his own resolve has an effect on others’.
Sasuke (80):
Sasuke is incredibly smart, but he’s also a bit of a masochist, on top of being a huge fanboy.
He also subscribes to taking forever to notice/confess his feelings, but he is extremely loyal, and down-to-earth.

i feel myself getting sucked into a ed, skipping meals and counting calories, working out and drowning myself in water bottles and depression is getting the best of me again. i'm really tired and want to talk about it with somebody, but i dont know how, because i'm not what somebody would consider thin. i told a teacher i had problems with eating back in may and he just said that i need to eat, no more. and i cant tell my therapist, i already kept so many things secret, she will be mad as hell.
honestly it’s a really good sign that you recognize how unhealthy your behavior is and that you want to talk to someone about it. that’s a genuine mark of maturity and emotional intelligence and it really gives me a lot of belief in you and your ability to make it out of this. the fact that you’re not ‘thin’ seriously doesn’t matter when it comes to this sort of thing - eating disorders are an illness of the mind, and they’re extremely dangerous and fatal no matter how much you weigh. that’s what you need to focus on, and that’s what you need to keep reminding yourself. whatever your weight is, you can still do real irreparable damage by skipping meals and overexercising. you can still give yourself a heart attack or a cardiac arrest etc. i’m not just saying that, i need you to understand in a really deep and fundamental way that you’re entitled to help and that you need to seek it before this gets completely out of control. the teacher that you told really didn’t react in the way that an adult in a position of power is supposed to, but don’t let that one experience trick you into thinking that reaching out will always end like that. any informed person you tell about this will be able to help you more than he did. i know you said you didn’t want to, but i really think your best option is to just tell your therapist what’s going on. get it all out in the open, otherwise you won’t be able to overcome it. she’s not going to be mad - it’s her job to be patient and to help you with every struggle that you present to her (no matter when you present it.) you don’t have to go into detail right away if you don’t want to - next time you see her, just mention it. say you have a problem and that you’re afraid that it’s going to escalate. let her know that you respect her a lot and that you wanted to tell her because you know you need help. there’s honestly no way she’s going to be pissed off at you for it. this is your fight and all you need to do is take it one step at a time. each positive improvement you make, no matter how small or ‘insignificant’ it feels, is going to save your life. you can pull yourself back from the brink of this, you can. you have the power to do that, despite what your mind is telling you. talking to this about your therapist will really open the door to recovery bc she’ll be able to recommend coping mechanisms, support groups etc. i totally understand that it’s scary, but it’s not as scary as staying silent about this and watching your body completely deteriorate. again, it doesn’t matter that you’re not ‘thin.’ you need help, and it’s okay to ask for it. i’m going to leave a few links that i recommend checking out if you have the time, but i really hope you’re okay and that you are able to move past this. i’m always here if you need a friend.

Television and White People problems I cant relate to
I might make people mad, but I am just gonna say it. A good half the time I cannot relate to the problems and motivations of white people on TV. But I am going to list some scenarios that I cannot relate to
1. Unaffectionate Parents/parents that arent around much/parents who are strict = bad parents who ruin thier children
Listen purposefully withholding affection from your child as a manipulation tactic does equal bad parent. Never allowing your child to make meaningful connections outside of the home as a way to control them = abusive parent. But like shows like Gilmore Girls have the main character and side characters acting as if she has been horribly scarred by thier parents not letting them listen to rock or run around and dirtying an expensive dress. Or they excuse or justify a characters bad behavior because thier parents aren't around (usually these are rich characters).
I am a working class Latina and I always felt this was total BS. My grandparents were not affectionate people. There were no hugs or I love yous after the age of 5. Both worked long days and I was constantly left in charge of my siblings. I wasnt allowed to wear makeup until after I was 15 (I didnt start wearing it until I was 18) and when I did my grandpa constantly made comments like "what do you have on you face?" "Only ugly women have to wear makeup!" "If God wanted your nails to change color every month he would have made it so they could without that junk (nail polish)!". I wasnt allowed to listen to rap music. If my grandma bought me an outfit I wasnt allowed to do anything to get it dirty
I wasnt allowed to stay the night at a friends house until I was in high school and even then my grandparents preferred people stayed the night at our house versus me going to someone elses.
Guess what...I am fine. I never was rebellious. I knew they loved me. I knew they cared. I wasnt a teen parent. I can tell people I love them. I am affectionate with people I am close to. I graduated college. I was a good, friendly, well adjusted kid. All of my Latina friends were too. But like every other white "bad kid" or "jerk" is that way because of thier parents supposed lack of interest.
Listen I get the validity of loneliness or even anger at feeling as if your parents are not interested in you. I am just saying it is something that is not in my experience, so I have a hard time relating to it even though it is a very common troupe.
2. Cutting out family members/estranged family.
Ok so my Latina self has never, ever understood this movie plotline. Like I have extended family who may not even be related to me that are big idiots, which everyone recognizes, but I still see them at all the family events because it is rude not to invite them when they are family. Like we do not stand physically abusive people in my family. But that is what you have to be in order to be cut off from us. Stupid? A Mooch? Toxic? Prejudiced? A very annoying drunk? All those things are okay warrant toleration because you are family. And again this is extended family. In movies or shows where the child has cut off the parents from thier life or that make snide remarks or talk back to them...OMG not only can I not relate but I cannot even process.
Again I am not saying that people should have to tolerate any behavior which causes them anxiety or makes them uncomfortable. But like the idea of ever cutting out my grandparents or even my mother completely out of my life is unimaginable. Right not agree with the things they do or say, and I may not make an effort to reach out to my mom, but I will never purposefully avoid or talk bad about them to any one. And believe me my mom is pretty toxic but I would never hinder her ability to reach me if she needs me. I will no longer go out of my way to please her, but moving away having children and not letting her be part of thier lives. Nope not doing it.
Most of my latino friends live in multi-generational homes (grandparent, great-parents, parents, self and thier children). So just the idea that your grandparents or parents live in a different home than you was hard enough to wrap my mind around while watching TV. The idea that you moved across the country to get away from your family unimaginable.
Again not condemning any one who does that just explaining why minded just cant relate.
3. 18=Adult and going crazy
Tumblr media
I am 25 (I think, I forget) years old. I am a virgin, I didnt have a sip of alcohol until I was 23 or right when I turned 24 (again I forget). I've never had a boyfriend. I have only been on like 3 dates with 1 person. I still ask my grandparents permission to go places, I tell them my plans and who I am with. I do this unprompted. My grandparents dont demand that I do it. I just do.
Dont get the wrong idea, I have had lots of fun. I lived on the dorms as a college freshman, I made lots of friends and was in multiple clubs, played intramural sports, worked as an activities coordinator at the college and hung out with friends. I've gone to concerts, I've traveled to multiple countries and studied abroad. I vacation with friends.
Like I could never relate to teenagers or college kids on television as a teen and I still can't as an adult. Dont get me wrong freshman year of college I met the Wild kids all testing thier boundaries and exploring thier sexuality now that they were out of the house.
But that just wasnt me. I didnt feel the need to. I didnt want to drink (my house wasnt anti alcohol or anything like that). I didnt want to experience getting drunk or trying drugs. I didnt have the need or urge to do anything sexual with anyone. It wasnt because I was ashamed of my body, saving myself for marriage, or emotionally scarred by my grandparents about the subject. I just didnt want to. My grandma always tells people when they ask her how she raised me to be such a good kid (although thinking on it I should resent being called a kid at age 25) that my brother and just came out perfect or the closest thing to perfect. Like I am not saying that to claim that I am, but just to give y'all the idea of how non wild I am.
18 was a wierd age for me. I was exploring mostly myself as an individual seperate from my family. Figuring out what I liked because when you live with so many people you kind of blend interests. Sometimes I dont know if I actually like an activities that I frequently do or if I frequently do it because one of my siblings likes it.
Making friends outside of family. I always had friends growing up but my closest friends were my siblings and cousins. College was the beginning of meeting people from different backgrounds and becoming friends based on common interests rather than out of convenience. A great transition to my next unrelateable troupe.
3. Peer Pressure and letting bullies get away with it.
So like for the longest time, TV made it seem like it was hard to stand up to bullies, like it was Big deal and hard decision to stand up for someone else. Like to an extent some more recent shows still do it (Glee for one). And I just cant relate.
I never cared what other kids thought of me. I was always secure in who I was and happy with myself. While I wanted to please my family, i never felt pressured to please anyone else to to follow the mass consensus on what is cool or not. I also could never stand a bully.
In elementary school I flipped over my shared desk when my desk mate called the new girl (who was on medications that made her fall asleep during class a re***d) and told him that if him and the entire class that if they have a problem with her then they can fight me and I am obviously not kidding. (My very first outburst and threat of violence). In the 7th grade a couple of girls were harassing a girl in the bathroom for telling thier secrets. Even though it wasnt any of my business and these girls were known for actually fighting other girls, I still told them that they were being stupid and to leave her alone. Which earned me a shove against the wall and a "you want to fight me?". To which I stupidly responded "I am not afraid of you" which was a huge lie.
My childhood friends who werent related to me were usually the people who nobody wanted to be friends with. Mostly kids werent considered "able" or were too "annoying". I hated the idea of people being shunned because they werent "able" or because they didnt have a concept of volume control, personal space, or the ability to read a room) or because we were related. I straight up yelled at a guy in the middle school lunch room because he was saying that I was so nice for hanging out with the special kids especialky Bob (not his real name) because everyone hated him for not being able to shut up or go away. Bob has asperger's syndrome or was adhd I honestly dont remember. He had an assigned aid and would get too close to people and once he started talking he wouldnt stop so classes were hard for him and making friends was hard to.
In 9th grade band class I stood up and called out the drum section for laughing and calling the drum majors (a Male and a female) a f*g, ugly crack baby, and other slurs while they were conducting and then told the substitute that I refused to continue playing until they were sent to the principles and dealt with accordingly. I then walked out and put my instrument away very loudly in front of the band and pulled a chair up behind the drum majors so I could glare the entire class down while they played.
In 10th grade a made a huge scene when a guy thought he'd be cute by saying that the only reason my friends and i were doing well in Spanish class was because we were "sucking mr.------ balls". I stood up and shredded into him about how that accusation was basically calling mr.----- a pedophile and that it showed how much of a sexist pig he was that he has to basically accuse successful ladies of having to used sex to be successful because that is easier for his ego than admitting his laziness inattentiveness, and bad attitude are the reason he is failing a class about his first Language.
I also yelled at a girl in the middle of the school grounds for saying there should be a holocaust for gay people.
Apparently I am the queen of making a scene. I list these things not a bragging thing, but because they werent hard for me. Most of were just reactive. I never understood why TV made doing the right thing seem like it was so hard and that you were being a freaking martyr.
I was never bullied. I knew that kids didnt like me but no one every messed with me or harrassed me the way they did other people. Doing the right thing did not make my life harder. Standing up for people wasnt some herculean task that took like two days of thinking and emotional preparation. The "majority" of people allowing mean spirited people to harrassed others never swayed me to let it go. Indifference was never an option in my mind.
So I was always really frustrated by characters who didnt automatically help a person who was being harrased. It is my least favorite TV or movie plotline. And again I can't relate.
Again this isnt to bash on anyone or to suggest that making a scene or putting yourself at risk are the only ways of helping others and standing up for others.

。・*・゚☆   mafalda    ・・・    @marblecarved !
arms weave ’ round own bust as head cants to the side; her stare narrows once it is laid ’ pon own shoes and there, as if set in stone, it remains. her inattention is an act, however, because she is listening; listening to what Molly, her father ’ s second cousin, has to voice or, in her opinion, has to blubber about. Mafalda is displeased  …  no, scratch that, she is furious toward what Prewett ’ s pride did to her father, and no amount of I wish is going to change what happened in the past; her father did not ask to be born a Squib, so why brush him aside ? and then treat him as if his existence is not important ? ❝  I  …  ❞ jutting of chin follows the stumble in her speech, and stare is now placed upon other, pointed, accusatory ( as if it was Molly ’ s fault for her stumble ). ❝  I want to know why  …  why consider us as family now? Why wish to know me now, after all these years ? I don ’ t  …  ❞ a shake of head, flutter of hands as if to say nevermind; Mafalda then proceeds to take their tea cups to the counter near the sink, the clink clank of porcelain and the brief rush of water from the tap breaking the quiet in the kitchen for a moment, putting her at ease. ❝  I remember father asked for your help, because he did not know how to introduce me to your world; and not even once had he mentioned your sons and daughter  …  we did not know them and I assume they, in turn, did not know about us,  ❞ now done, she turns ’ round, towel still in hand. ❝  Is a Squib something so shameful to have as a cousin ? Why did you not talk to father, or about us ? ❞
it hadn’t been her pride  that had gotten in the way of a relationship with their estranged second cousin.  it was the family, and their pride.  as a child you do as your parents say, and you respect it without question.  at least it’s how she’d been raised, and how she tried to raise her own children.  hadn’t really worked though had it ?  she could’ve reached out sooner, once she married arthur and was part of the biggest blood-traitor family known to the wizarding world, but she hadn’t.  she’d focused instead on her own family that had been growing steadily in the years, and just never got around to it.  she regrets that now of course, regrets a lot of things about how she treated that side of the family.  ❛ i cannot fully excuse my actions, dear.  it was just an unspoken rule in the family and i went by it, didn’t bother to question it because it’s how i was raised.  to respect what your parents say and don’t put up a fuss.  of course i regret the decisions that were made, i should’ve reached out much sooner than this, but i was too focused on my own life and my own family. ❜  there is a sadness and guilt in her eyes, for she knows she should’ve done better and deserves the accusatory glare of her cousin’s child.  ❛ it is nothing to be ashamed of.  i know that now more than i did before.  we’re all equal, whether you’re pure-blood or not.  i only wish i’d have tried to reconnect much earlier. ❜
