Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (2023) He was fifteen years old. Who was this guy? He looked a little fragile but he wasn't. He was disciplined and tough and knowledgeable and he didn't pretend to be stupid and ordinary. He was neither of those things. He was funny and focused and fierce. I mean the guy could be fierce. And there wasn't anything mean about him. I didn't understand how you could live in a mean world and not have any of that meanness rub off on you. How could a guy live without some meanness? Dante became one more mystery in a universe full of mysteries.

i was thinking about this line from my fic:

love love love a character who is so universally loved but doesnt realize it in the slightest and the craziest thing is that this statement applies to like every main character of the bear but most especially syd and carmy

like syd who despite quitting the fine dining industry for not having her own voice is clearly well appreciated by the people she did work with, to the point that they are giving her favours and telling her that she always has a place in their restaurant???? and not to mention sugar crying over something as simple as her omelette, richie telling her shes apart of the family now, and carmy affirming that she is a giver a caretaker and a lover through and through??? absolutely scrumptious!!

and then carmy who has connections in copenhagen, the trust of chef terry, and being like an actual microcelebrity?? plus sugar constantly looking out for his well being and mikey wanting to protect him by keeping him away from the beef and richie yelling i love you to cut through the vitriol hes throwing at him, and syd who chose to stay because she believes so deeply that he is first and foremost a good person before he is an incredible chef??????

like UGH that shit is my bread and butter they are so disgustingly humble and unaware of their own value to the world but they try try try to be so so good to everyone so when they fail they think the worst of themselves but everyone around them knows and sees how lovely they are and the heights they could reach if they would just look in the mirror, past their weary eyes and dull skin to see that they are good and loved and deserve to be happy UGHHHHHHH

Tubbo’s situation is so funny because he’s trying to get in good with Fred so he can get information (and just having a close friend) meanwhile Fred is most likely using Tubbo to get info about the islanders - like Tubbo just supplied about bbh. In the books Tubbo found it literally states that A rank workers are encouraged to be warm and welcoming to their subordinates to keep them working. Like sorry Tubbo but you’ve been seduced by standard work place manipulation tactics XD

I have so much brainrot about Medic's wife, specifically the design from the comic doodles that Makani drew, I'm so ready to draw a whole comic about her, man I love hallucinating.

#im sure there are already fics like this #i just love the idea of james thinking he's changed too much and that he can't give up his new worldviews even for thomas #only to discover that thomas has also changed in the same direction and is the first to suggest drastic action #the political situation in early colonial georgia is quite unique. i would imagine it would have an impact on someone so justice-oriented #...ofc this implies that the obvious original tragedy is semi-displaced into a Secret Second Tragedy later on #we know what happens to flint by the beginning of TI after all

oh my god I know like it sounds weird to say this when it's just avatar but the original show has aang go back to the southern air temple to show katara and sokka his home only to find evidence of the genocide of his people and the loss of his loved ones and it's quiet until you see his grief and his rage but you just see the aftermath a hundred years later and the netflix adaptation makes it feel like they wanted it to be a cool action movie with an epic scene showing the fighting and running of the airbenders like that side by side with aang running away and it's like ??? okay it's "darker" congratulations I can see that's what the goal is based on the differences in firebending and early on screen deaths go and focus on every bit of violence for the audience's lazy sadistic pleasure instead of any of the characters personal narratives especially the women that can all be taken right out + the discovery of different places all over the world in the earth kingdom and outside of it. put everything in omashu so they don't get to meet people and see the diversity of the world and each town and SEE what life is like for them under war and have these experiences with all these people build up to something bigger at the end

#changing the order of when the audience discovers new information in favor of a more linear storytelling was a bad idea #it came off as so bizarre like adding in these types of scenes so that it's just cooler and more intense #when the original show had 20 min long episodes 20 episodes per book not much time was needed. but so much was missed in the live action?#because they had to add and drag out things like this that just feel wrong #and it's not very good every event in the live action felt very smushed together like no scene stood out no contrast just the same level #of flatness all around you dont even get a chance to really feel anything about what happens on screen #when everything happens so surface level and without much real emotion it just happens so something can happen after that and so it can end #it felt like watching a bad movie everything that gave the cartoon any meaning was taken away #adding in that weird airbenders genocide scene towards the beginning but leaving out katara's inspiration of haru and those earthbenders #was it not cool enough did it take too much away from sokka's romance plotlines #one of the most important book 1 katara episodes #it felt like the natla script was written by people who are writing from memory based on what they watched 10 years ago
