For the generated AUs, I got Supernatural Is Known AU + Orphanage AU ^^
Okay but Caleb Covington's Home For Extraordinary Orphans. He's not exactly evil, but after 20-plus years of dealing with everything from mermaids to were-elephants, he is Grumpy.
The Molinas always wanted a big family. Most Werewolves do. Something about a big pack just makes them happy. Not all of them turn, Julie and Victoria don't, but Rose, Ray, and Carlos do. (There have been So Many Arguments in the past about Carlos chewing on Julie's shoes.)
Except Rose found out that after her cancer, she wouldn't be able to have any more kids. They'd been trying for some time but hadn't had any more after Carlos, and now there was no more chance to have any at all. They mourn for a year, before talking it over as a family and deciding that pack is pack and they don't need to be blood related to be family. When Julie is fourteen and Carlos is ten, they finally get approved to adopt.
Victoria goes with them, if only to make sure they don't 'bite off more than they can chew'.
They meet a lot of kids, and just like Victoria expected, they want to take home Everyone. She has to be the voice of reason that no, they do not have a big enough back yard to convert into a lake to adopt that mermaid girl. And adopting Willie, the raccoon shifter, was a terribly unsafe idea because Carlos still hadn't learned to control his chasing-prey instinct. Do they not remember the ordeal with the Henderson's cat?
Eventually, Carlos and Julie come running up to their parents, dragging just about the palest young boy Rose has ever seen.
"Mami, this is Reggie!" Carlos proudly proclaims. "He likes dogs and music and pizza so he has to be our big brother."
Reggie is a sixteen year old vampire who is just grateful he got turned after he was allowed to drive. It's better than being fourteen for the rest of his (after)life, that would be rough. Oh shoot sorry Julie. It gets better, he promises.
Ray and Rose are just so charmed by Reggie and the way he naturally fell into a big brother role for Julie and Carlos that they decide yes, they will adopt a sixteen year old vampire. No they do not care that he won't age. Once he actually matures mentally into adulthood (which vampires do, just a lot slower than than humans) they will help him get emancipated.
Victoria is not there to talk them out of it. Victoria, in fact, is in Caleb's office, getting the paperwork done to adopt Willie.
("What? I said it was dangerous for him to be around Carlos until he gets his prey instinct under control during the full moon. I don't turn, my prey instinct is fine! The only thing I hunt is a good bargain.")
So they take Reggie and Willie home, and things are great. Willie and Reggie were friends at the orphanage, they get together for Family Dinners every Friday except on Full Moons, everything is great. Reggie fits in really well and admits that even before he was turned ten years ago, he didn't have a great family, so having two parents that care about him is really nice.
Except sometimes Reggie acts in a way that can't be attributed to being a vampire, or adopted, or maybe a little traumatised from spending ten years in an orphanage run by a grumpy werepanther. He zones out, and sometimes he talks to himself, or laughs at nothing. Ray and Rose love Reggie, and are fully willing to support their new son and all his quirks (Ray immediately started learning about Star Wars when he realised Reggie was obsessed), but they also want to make sure this isn't anything mental illness related that will hurt him.
So they talk about getting Reggie evaluated, about asking Doctor Turner if she has any recommendations for therapists who specialise in vampirism... But Reggie overhears them.
And then Rose overhears Reggie. Talking to himself in his room again. Except this time it's not under his breath.
"No dude, don't worry about it. I'll just... I'll make something up. I mean, you've always said that I might be autistic, maybe we can just... Nobody's going to find out and send you back, I promise."
Which is of course when Rose pushed open the door before adopting a now Very Familiar Pose to Reggie. The Mom Pose. Hands on her hips, eyebrow raised.
The boy on Reggie's bed slowly started going invisible again, and Rose pointed at him. "Don't you dare!"
He stops fading out of view. He looks to be about Reggie's age.
"Can you just turn invisible, or are you a ghost?" Rose asks. "Because if I find out you've been letting someone go hungry under our roof, Reginald, you are grounded, mister."
"I'm a ghost," the boy in the bed said. "I'm so sorry, it's just that, you were taking Reggie, and your sister was taking Willie, and they're all I have and I just couldn't stay there and I'm so so sorry..."
The more he talks the more solid he looks and Rose is not sure if that's a good thing or not, so she just interrupts him. "Right, we need to call Caleb right now."
"No, don't send him back!" Reggie said. "Send me back instead, please, you'll love Alex, he's great, he's funny and cool and he likes music and pizza too. I mean he can't eat it anymore but-"
"We're not sending anyone back," Rose promises, wrapping Reggie in a hug and hovering a hand near Alex' shoulder. "But we do have to arrange some paperwork so Ray and I don't get brought up on any kidnapping charges, alright?"

Happy birthday week! How about "maybe they're long distance and send them a whole package of their favorite things" with willex? ;D
The band drags themselves and their luggage into the lobby, grateful to finally have the opportunity to spend a few nights in proper beds with proper showers and surrounded by proper walls. They love tour life, but the difficulties of living in a bus for weeks on end were severely undersold.
Luke walks over to the counter to check them in: two double rooms so everyone can have their own bed.
“Is one of you Alex Mercer?” the front desk attendant asks after confirming the reservation.
“Alex?” Luke calls back to where the group had decided to stand out of the way.
“Hm?”
Luke nods him toward the front desk. “Apparently you’re needed.”
Alex walks over to join Luke, his brow furrowed in confusion. “I’m Alex.”
The attendant gives him a bored look, “Cool, something came in for you the other day. Can I see some ID?”
Alex’s confusion deepens. He exchanges an uncertain look with Luke.
Luke shrugs as he finishes signing the paperwork and accepts the keys from the clerk.
Alex digs his wallet out and presents his ID. The clerk barely glances at it, just long enough to confirm Alex’s name, before leaving through a door behind them.
They return with a box and place it on the desk in front of Alex. “Here you go. Enjoy your stay.”
“Thanks,” Alex says as he checks their name tag, the confused expression never leaving his face, “Naomi. Do you know where this came from?”
He’s met with a shrug, “There was just a note on the reservation. That’s all I know, sorry.”
“Not your fault,” he murmurs. “Thanks again.”
Alex picks up the box, giving it a gentle shake, before following Luke back to the others.
They greet him with curious expressions of their own but nobody says anything as they accept their keys and room numbers from Luke: Reggie and Luke in one room, Julie and Alex in the other.
Alex and Julie had determined long ago that they were never rooming with the others if they had the choice. Luke doesn’t sleep and Reggie talks - whether he’s awake or not. Sure, Alex snores but Julie can handle earplugs if she needs them. It’s the lesser of available evils.
Julie and Reggie had loaded up a cart while Luke and Alex were occupied so Alex’s arms are free to carry his new box as they make their way to the elevator.
“Who’s it from?” Julie asks once the door closes behind them.
“Dunno.”
“There’s no return address?”
“Oh,” Alex says softly. He hadn’t thought to look and glances at the label, narrowing his eyes in suspicion as he reads it. “Willie.”
Luke hums in understanding, “That makes sense.”
“But why?”
“Really?” Reggie asks as if it’s obvious.
“What?”
“Dude. You really don’t know what tomorrow is?”
“Tomorrow?” Alex takes a moment to think. They’d stopped being able to effectively track time a long time ago and he doesn’t honestly know tomorrow from yesterday most of the time.
Julie starts laughing as soon as she figures it out. “Oh, of course!”
“Can somebody please fill me in?!” Alex whines.
“Alex, I know you’re tired. But really?” Reggie teases. “To forget your own birthday?” He tuts disappointedly.
“Oh. Oh no.”
“Oh no?” Luke echoes as their elevator stops on their floor, dinging their arrival.
“Really? It’s Willie,” Alex reminds him as they file out into the hall. He holds the box up, “We’re opening this in your room.”
“Ours?!” Reggie squeaks. “Why?”
“If whatever’s in here explodes, I don’t want to deal with it.”
“Dude, he’s your boyfriend.”
“Yeah, I’m with Alex on this,” Julie chimes in. “Keep the chaos in the chaos room.”
Luke groans, “Fine. But if there’s anything embarrassing in there, I get full rights to-”
“Yeah, yeah fine,” Alex interrupts. “You can make fun, whatever.”
Luke and Reggie whoop exaggeratedly only to be shushed by Alex and Julie. They pull up to their adjoining rooms and unload the cart, dumping their stuff just inside of their respective doors.
“I’ll take the cart back and then we can see what Alex’s beau sent,” Julie offers.
“Can’t he open the box first?” Reggie pleads.
Julie exchanges a look with Alex, silently asking him what he wants. He nods his approval and Julie agrees with a laugh. “Of course your birthday gift requires a proper audience.”
“It’s Willie!” Reggie reminds her. “I don’t want to miss out on whatever he’s got planned.”
“And Alex started it, insisting that it needs to be opened here,” Luke adds.
Alex rolls his eyes but walks toward the table in their room, setting the parcel on it. He looks down at the tape job and then around the room. Luke presents him with a pocketknife.
“Why do you… Never mind, I do not want to know,” Alex starts to ask before changing his mind and accepting the blade.
“It’s for my guitar strings, smartass.”
“Right and you just… always have it with you?”
“How have we been friends for this long and you not know this?”
“Guys! Present!” Reggie interrupts them excitedly.
Alex sighs and starts slicing at tape, of which there is much more than necessary. Alex can’t quite decide if Willie was just worried about box failure or if he intentionally wrapped it like this as a prank. Neither option does much to assuage his anxiety about what he’s about to experience.
He finishes working through the tape, taking a deep breath as he sets the knife down on the table.
“It can’t possibly be that bad,” Reggie tries to assure him.
Alex turns on Reggie with a glare. “It. is. Willie.”
“And you love him and he loves you and blah blah blah, would you open it already?”
Alex closes his eyes as he takes another deep breath. He lifts the flaps of the box. When nothing happens, he cracks open one eye. And then the other. He slowly lets out the breath he’d been holding as he digs through the bubble wrap and packing paper.
His confusion returns as he starts removing items, one at a time, under the watchful eye of his friends.
First is Willie’s tie-dye crop top. He absolutely does not smell it in front of his bandmates. But absolutely considers doing so in the privacy of his own room later. Mostly his room. He’ll figure it out.
Then there’s a pair of hotdog socks that cause Luke to snort and Alex to roll his eyes. He’ll never live down almost dying on street food but at least it’s entertaining for everyone else.
Two cans of Cactus Cooler that Willie knows he hates. And absolutely could have exploded due to being shipped across the country but luckily didn’t.
Luke immediately grabs both cans, “I love this stuff!”
Alex grimaces, “You can have it, man.”
There are some bags of his favourite candy and hiding underneath everything is a mini, unreasonably soft stuffed dragon and a short letter. Alex blushes as he quickly skims it before stuffing it into his pocket before any of the others can get their hands on it.
To remind you of home, Willie had written. Well, that explains the cans of citrus soda. Alex can’t help the smile that stretches across his face. Willie might be a prankster and constantly keeping Alex on his toes, but his sweet streak undercuts all of it. And all of those sides are what Alex loves about him.
“Oh, lovesick Alex has taken over,” Reggie teases.
Alex responds by sticking his tongue out and gathering his gifts, except the cans of soda, and retreating to his and Julie’s room.
If he diverges from his usual style for their show the next night, sporting Willie’s top and his new socks, well, he can deal with the talk. It’s worth it if he can feel like his boyfriend isn’t on the other side of the country for even just one night.
And if maybe he has a new drumkit mascot for the rest of the tour, well, nobody else needs to know that at all.

Ooh, Juke podcasters AU?
Tumblr media
Alright, I went back and forth on this for literal ages, but it is high time I actually post something so, I hope you like it! Happy Juke Jeudi! Also lol RIP me trying to write a summary, failing spectacularly and instead ending up with over 700 words of a relatively solid outline for a fic I'll probably never find time to write 🙃
A kinda-sorta-enemies-to-lovers with a classic misunderstanding and of course a HEA (that isn't really well thought out, but couldn't sit in my drafts any longer!)
Julie Molina doesn't really play music anymore since her mom died, but she does listen to it and talk about it at great length on her very popular podcast she started back in her junior year of college after a very interesting elective on the topic
Now, she's a bit of a celebrity in her own right, as episodes of her show, "The Studio" (where she reviews listener-submitted songs from up-and-coming bands in college towns all across America) reach thousands of listeners every week
Luke Patterson listens to music, talks about music and, of course, plays music in his band, Sunset Curve, with his two best friends Alex Mercer and Reggie Peters (they did have a fourth band member, Bobby Shaw, but that ended rather abruptly when Bobby decided he'd rather have a solo career with Sunset Curve's most popular songs)
Now, Sunset Curve is on the edge of celebrity - a rather stressful recon mission ensured Bobby no longer had access to their music (and no, they won't be telling that story anytime soon) - and they're calling in all of their favours to get a showcase slot at the famed venue, The Orpheum
(click to continue reading my rambling below the cut)
Luke has been working on the booking manager, Caleb, for weeks and he's finally agreed to book them a slot in two week's time...assuming they can sell half of the tickets for the show themselves by the time the doors open the night of the show [Alex has anxiously done the math on that and it works out to about 1300 tickets if Caleb expects them to sell the place out (he immediately had to do his breathing exercises after having that realization)]
Luckily, the two optimists in the band have a plan - submit their best song (along with a little plug about their show) to "The Studio", get a rave review, profit (read: sell a thousand tickets in less than 14 days)
Unbeknownst to the current members of the band, there is a reason why Sunset Curve has never been featured on "The Studio" before, despite being submitted a handful of times by local listeners
Back in freshman year, Julie went on an ill-fated blind date set up by her well-meaning but ultimately misguided roommate, with her cousin, one Bobby Shaw (it wasn't that Bobby wasn't a nice guy, but he talked mostly about his music with his band and when they passed a street piano on the way to the theatre, she accidentally let slip that she used to play music and he was like a dog with a bone and when she refused to show him what she could do, he got a little too bold - she had stormed away soon after, walking the 12 blocks back to campus blinking back tears) - hence her distaste towards the band
Now, Luke is nothing if not determined, so here we insert a chapter or two of him weaselling his way into "accidental" run-ins with Julie (maybe he figures out a mutual connection? - Willie knows Flynn knows Julie) who doesn't realize immediately who he is, but they obviously vibe
Once Julie figures out the connection there is a smidgen of hurt feelings and explanations and apologies, but eventually she is persuaded to feature them on her next episode (and even goes so far as to have the band in the studio to plead their case)
Lo' and behold! They sell the allotted tickets and the show goes off without a hitch - Julie is in attendance, only slightly begrudgingly having been dragged along by Flynn and Willie
She is obviously immediately smitten (more than she already was) by Luke's stage presence and also the way he winks at her during the bridge to Now or Never (listen, she's only human okay??)
Their set wraps up and there are congratulations all around and an invitation for post-show pizza and there are more vibes and some not-so-subtle suggestions from both Flynn and Reggie about chemistry and oozing that Julie and Luke are both trying very hard to ignore while they enjoy their pizza
Luke volunteers to walk Julie home since she lives a couple blocks over (there is jeering and a few not-so-subtle nudges from Reggie, a very serious stare-down along with a threatening "text me as soon as you're home safe" from Flynn)
The walk home is relatively quiet, when they get to her door Luke confesses he hopes he didn't mess this whole thing up by trying to get the band on her show, he'd really like to see her again, etc.. Julie assures him that he didn't..and he can see her again. There is a cute Juke kiss and ta da! The End.

AU for five headcanons: haunted walking tour au!
Oooh this one is so fun! I love haunted walking tours so much and this ended up as way more than 5 headcanons but i regret nothing
— So one of the many attractions at the Hollywood Ghost Club is a haunted walking tour through the hotel and the surrounding area. Willie, being the owner’s kid, has worked there since they were old enough to work and is now the club’s most highly reviewed and requested tour guide.
— The demand for tours always spikes around Halloween, so they hire seasonal workers to work as tour guides and as ghost actors to jump out and scare the guests. Alex, Luke, and Reggie join as a way to make some extra money to record their demo.
-- It very quickly becomes apparent that only Alex and Reggie have the charisma needed to be tour guides; Luke gets relegated to ghost actor because he has no idea how to talk to the guests in a professional manner and also keeps forgetting the stories he's supposed to be telling.
-- This leaves Willie in charge of training the two very cute new tour guides. Reggie doesn't need much training though, he very quickly starts to rival Willie in popularity among the guests. Alex takes a little longer to warm up to it, almost seems embarrassed about the job, but once he gets into character on the tours he's really good at it and it's so hot really impressive to Willie.
-- He keeps telling himself not to get too attached though, they keep telling him that they're only working there for the season, and he's like 98% sure Alex and Reggie are already dating.
-- Meanwhile Luke keeps himself entertained by coming up with new and extreme ways to scare the guests (within reason). One day Julie and Flynn come in for a tour and Luke scares them so bad that Julie goes running all the way back through the hotel, screaming the whole way. Luke chases after her because holy shit do you hear that breath control this girl must be an insane singer which only makes her scream longer. Once he finally manages to calm her down (with the help of Reggie, who's leading her tour) he asks her to join the band and she's so bewildered that she says yes on instinct. And thus Julie and the Phantoms is born!
-- A few days later Bobby and Nick come in for a tour (maybe dragging Carrie along with them but only because she likes the glamour of the HGC), and when Luke pops out to scare them Bobby panics and punches him in the face. Luke finds this incredibly hot and asks him out on the spot even as his nose is bleeding. Similar to Julie, Bobby is so bewildered he says yes. He ends up joining the band eventually too.
-- Alex decides that even if they do this again next year Luke will not be joining them bc at this rate their band is going to turn into a full on orchestra.
-- As the end of the season quickly approaches Willie is dreading it because he's become really good friends with Alex and Reggie, but he knows how this goes. They’ll promise to keep in touch, they’ll text a couple times in the next couple weeks, and then they’ll eventually fall out of touch and forget about each other.
— Except the day after their last day, Alex and Reggie show up to take the tour as guests. Willie is just happy to see them, so he pointedly doesn’t ask why Alex is so nervous even though he knows where all the jump scares are. After the tour ends the two of them hang out in the club until Willie gets off of work, and at that point Reggie and Alex tell them that they didn’t want to ask while they were still coworkers so as not to pressure on him, but they would really really like to take him out on a date and have him join their relationship. Willie of course says yes immediately and the three of them live happily ever after

For the ship kiss ask: Willex - 19
Thank you for your prompt, I'm sorry for taking so long, my week was pretty busy. Here is my take on the prompt, I hope you enjoy reading it:
A few months after their fateful Orpheum performance Julie and the Phantoms had scheduled their first actual paid gig. They were the main event, not opening for another band and it wasn't and open mic. They had actually been hired, not as a last minute desperate replacement, but deliberately. There were flyers and posters. It had been announced on the club's website and social media and of course Flynn had posted about it on their own social media multiple times as well. Not that Alex really understood all of that, he mostly didn't care and just nodded along enthusiastically whenever Flynn and Julie got excited about how many likes they got or who shared their posts in a story or something.
It didn't matter, this was their first real gig as Julie and the Phantoms, it was starting in ten minutes and Alex was a mess. There hadn't been time for stage fright before their Orpheum performance with all the zapping and the being captured by Caleb and it felt like he was getting double the dose this time. Also, this time it wasn’t live or death, so to speak. Oddly, that made him even more nervous.
Alex was pacing up and down the alley behind the club, unable to go back inside and wait in the green room with Julie, Luke and Reggie. He checked his watch anxiously, he would have to go in soon, if he wanted to go on stage with the others and not be pulled in by Julie's… whatever it was that made them appear when she sang.
Maybe one mare round of pacing would calm him down. Or practicing the trick where he twirled his drumsticks in the air and caught them just in time for his solo. — Of course he dropped them and just as he was bending down to pick them up, he heard the distinct woosh of a ghost appearing.
"Sorry, I'll be right in, give me just another min…" he mumbled, expecting it to be Luke or Reggie, but when he looked up, it was Willie. "Oh, it's you. I didn't know you would come."
Willie grinned at him in the calming way he did. "Of course I came. You invited me, didn't you. And I haven't gotten the chance to hear you play yet."
Alex nervously pushed his hair back behind his ear. "Thank you, but maybe don't expect too much from me this time. I haven't been this nervous before a gig since the early 90s. Do you think it's possible of a ghost to get injured by their should bounded object? Because with my luck I'll manage to poke myself in the eye with a drumstick when attempting to throw them."
He was rambling, he knew that, but at least he wasn’t pacing.
Willie softly put his hand on his shoulder.
“You’ll be great. You guys are amazing and bursting with talent.”
“You haven’t heard us play yet.”
“You rocked the Orpheum, obviously your guys are good. And Caleb is a terrible person, but he knows his music and would never let anyone play at his club who wasn’t good.”
Alex couldn’t help but laugh at that.
“Interesting point you make there.”
He took a deep breath and focused on Willie’s hand on his shoulder.
“Ok, I think I’m ready to go in. Thanks Willie.”
Willie smiled widely. “Anytime Hotdog. And just in case…,” he leaned forward to press a kiss to Alex lips.
“For luck,” he explained before poofing out and leaving Alex speechless and thoroughly distracted from his stage fright.
You can find it on AO3.

First sentence prompt for PeterPatterLina: "I love you both, but if I don't get invited for the Puppy Interview and you two are, I'm going on strike."
"I love you both, but if I don't get invited for the Puppy Interview and you two are, I'm going on strike."
Julie chuckles at that, ruffling Reggie's hair to make him stop scowling. "I would think that if we ever get invited they would ask the whole band cariño, not just me and Luke."
"And we would tell them the whole band or nothing anyways," Luke chimes in. "No matter what, we've always got each other right?"
Reggie nods but still grumbles under his breath about the puppies, making Julie roll her eyes fondly. "It's just... you guys are the face of the band. Lead singers, the main song writers, and everyone knows you're gaga over each other."
"Only because we aren't advertising our throuple status until we got a shiny trophy on our mantle," Luke concedes. "Unless you want to come out to the puppies."
"We can," Julie says, laying a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Or earlier. Never. It's up to you."
Reggie fiddles with his flannel, thinking on it. Luke and Julie had been well established as a couple for ages now, while everyone thought Reggie was just perpetually single.
Because he doesn't want the stigma of being the one to disrupt the Phantoms power couple. Even if Luke and Julie had assured him time and time again that he made them better, and they didn't want to be together without him.
So they were together but almost no one knew, and Reggie had been fine keeping it that way until they were established-aka recognized with awards from the industry.
It was sure to happen so soon, but he wondered if he wanted to wait that long.
Turns out, he didn't, as during the puppy interview, deep in his bliss he turned to Julie and asked "Can we have one?"
And Julie, on instinct, kissed him sweetly. "Of course we can cariño."
"You think any of these are up for adoption?" Luke asked, leaning his head on Reggie's shoulder. "I like the little golden retriever, he reminds me of you."
Reggie stuck his tongue out and then kissed Luke tenderly. "You're one to talk, you giant puppy."
"Umm guys?" the employee asked from off camera. "You want me to leave all that in?"
Luke and Julie turned to Reggie who was cooing over a tiny pit bull mix and he smiled. "Only if we get to take one of these guys home."
"They're all from a local no kill shelter, and I think they brought forms with them," the employee said. "You guys just need to pick one."
Alex snickered from where he was off, petting the miniature husky he had bonded with early on and refused to let go of. "If they get to take home a puppy, then so do I."
"Willie's allergic," Julie reminded him.
"This guy is hypo-allergenic actually," Alex replied, cuddling the puppy closer. "And he already agreed."
Reggie turned his biggest eyes on his partners. Julie sighed and wrangled a little Yorkie to her lap, petting it and then smiled. "Fine, let's do it."
Reggie kissed her, quick and sloppy, then started going to each puppy to see who he liked best. Luke shuffled over to her side, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "You ready for this?"
"The puppy?"
Luke shook his head and nodded to the cameras. Julie gripped his hand, leaning her head against his. "Yeah. I'm tired of us hiding. Plus look how happy he is. I can't take that away from him."
"Love you boss," Luke replied. "And him, so much."
The interview went viral like crazy, everyone shocked and thrilled by the news of the three of them. But it was nothing compared to the post from the Phantoms official Instagram, introducing Bowie Mercer and the teeny little spaniel mix; Ellie Patterson Molina.
The last name that all three of them took when they married less than a year later, with Ellie acting as their ring bearer.

Hii! Could you do canon magical!Julie Juke angst with a happy ending? Please?
Hello!!! Sorry for the delay! I shall do my best!
Julie's magic was getting stronger.
Sure, Luke figured he was a bit more sensitive to the magnetic force that was Julie Molina than most, but he wasn't the only one to notice. Julie seeing ghosts wasn't new, though no one had realized that until just over a year ago, when Luke and his bandmates crashed into her life. But apparently she'd been seeing them for her whole life and simply never realized they were dead.
It made sense, at least the way Alex put it. Ghosts looked like they had when they were alive. There were plenty of strangely dressed people who hung out around Los Angeles, dead or alive. So unless she'd seen a ghost actively passing through a lifer or something, it wasn't surprising that she hadn't realized there were spirits of the dead lurking the streets. Luke still didn't fully get it, but it made sense.
Julie was magical, Luke had known that since the first day he'd known her. He couldn't seem to stay away from her, as if he were a moth and she was the last candle on earth. No matter what he did, he couldn't resist her. Not that he wanted to of course. Reggie and Alex had different ways of describing how Julie's magnetism felt to them, but it was equally strong. The four of them were connected by some unseen force that stemmed from the core of Julie Molina.
But it seemed that this attraction wasn't just for them anymore.
With Caleb gone, there were a lot more ghosts out wandering the streets of Hollywood these days. And many of them seemed to sense Julie, eyes finding her in crowds of lifers when the four of them, sometimes with Flynn or Willie as well, went downtown for a show or shopping. They'd all noticed it, Julie and Alex before the rest of them, but originally chalked it up to their defeat of the ghost magician who had trapped so many souls for decades.
But it continued, even as time distanced them from those horrible memories. Willie commented that some of the ghosts watching Julie weren't ones he'd ever seen at the HGC. And while most of the time the spirits didn't approach, weird things started happening.
A pair of ghosts passed Julie and Luke on the street, and a group of lifers walking past laughed at an overheard snatch of the spirits' conversation. An old friend of Willie's from the HGC had a much easier time lifting a pile of records when Julie entered the music shop behind the rest of her friends, his hands staying solid beneath them. Ray captured more orbs than usual during an outdoor photo shoot when Julie came to give him his lunch.
Julie's magic was getting stronger. It was giving other ghosts around her a stronger connection to the living world. Like she'd done from the beginning with Luke, Reggie, and Alex. And they were all getting used to it, but Luke... Okay, he wasn't too proud to say it.
Luke was jealous.
Because what he and Julie had, their connection, onstage and off, was special. What the band had was special. Julie brought them together, gave them a second and then a third chance at life. The music they made was awesome, and greatness was only a breath away, just waiting for Julie to finish school so they could start talking properly with managers.
But if other ghosts suddenly were feeling this connection with Julie... would they try to take her away from him? Would she want to go?
So yeah, Luke was jealous of the other spirits and the energy they received from Julie Molina, whether it was intentional or not.
But it was a secret.
"What'cha working on?" the angel in question asked, startling him out of his thoughts as she hopped over the couch to plop down next to him.
"Nothing," Luke said quickly, slamming his journal shut over the lyrics that had been forming under his pen.
Lines about losing a lover, a dream sucked away by others.
"Oh now I'm interested," Julie teased, grinning and shifting closer. "Tell me!"
"It's nothing," Luke insisted, holding the book away from her. "Just some random stuff, it's not anything good."
"Well let's see if we can't make something of it," Julie retorted, reaching for it, still with that smile on her face that made Luke's heart beat a little faster.
Luke leaned a bit too far, laughing, falling onto his side on the couch. Julie clambered on top of him, grabbing at the journal in his hands. Luke couldn't help but let her have it, not when she was giggling like that and her hair was falling loose in his face and her fingers were brushing over his arms in her attempts to get it.
"Hah, now was that so hard?" she joked, clambering off of him and flipping the journal open.
"Yeah," Luke responded, sitting up and giving the book a worried glance. He didn't want to freak her out.
Julie just hummed in response, her eyes flicking back and forth over the lines scrawled out in his terrible handwriting. She didn't speak for a full minute. Luke wanted to take it back, so she didn't see his jealousy, his fear of losing her. But there was no going back now.
Finally, Julie spoke. "Is this about me?"
Luke nodded. "Yeah, it is."
"Why?" she asked softly. "Why like this?"
"Because it's the truth," Luke sighed. "I know, it's dumb. I just..." He paused, finally looking up to meet her eyes. "You're a star, Julie. And for a while, it was just us, and you were our star, my star. But now..."
"Now I still am," Julie murmured, reaching out to rest her hand on his leg. "I'm not going anywhere, you know that."
"Why not?" Luke cried, suddenly unable to hold back. "You could work with any ghost, anywhere, you know you could! Why us? Why me?"
"Because you're you, Luke!" Julie exclaimed, grabbing his hand. "I don't want to make music with anyone else. No music is worth making, if we're not making it with you, that's what you said to me."
"Yeah, but-"
"No buts, Luke," Julie cut him off. "I know this whole ghost thing is weird, believe me, it scares me too, but I want to make music with you."
Luke pulled her into a hug as tears started to escape from her eyes. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, holding on tight.
"And what if I don't just want to make music with you?" Luke questioned softly.
Julie chuckled, the sound coming out muffled by Luke's shoulder. "I think I'd want that too."
Luke couldn't help the giddy smile that spread over his face, even despite the confusion that was their lives. Afterlives. Whatever. "So, this whole other ghosts thing has been bothering you too?" he asked after a minute.
"Yeah," she admitted. "I don't know what's going on."
"We'll figure it out," Luke promised, daring to press a feather-light kiss to the top of her curls. "Together."
Julie pulled back just enough to smile up at him. "I'm going to hold you to that," she murmured, just before she leaned up to brush her lips against his.
And maybe they didn't talk much about other ghosts that afternoon. Luke was pretty sure they were both okay with that.

Willex but they're both non binary.
They talk about how as a kid, it always felt weird being a young man, and growing up, their mind shifted when someone referred to them as "that guy" as if they just remembered how they are perceived.
Willie talks about in school, classmates would mock him for putting his hair on a braid and teachers would say he should cut it if he wanted to look respectable, he didn't, he felt pretty with his braided, he liked brushing his hair slowly and curling strands around his fingers, he started to give a middle finger to anyone who made fun of it, but he did wondered "what if i do look like a girl" and the thought never felt weird on his skin.
Alex talks about how he never could quite grasp what it meant to be a man, he used to think he'd never understand and would never fit in, but he figured out that if he tried to hard to act and look like a guy, he'd blow it, so he (unconsciously) took the mannerisms and the slang boys around him used, it wasn't an effort, it wasn't an effort to be around his sister and her friends and the girls at school, til someone called him out and said "boys don't act and don't speak like that" and suddenly he felt like being torn apart, thinking of every move and word and how they appeared to others.
Willie mentions the portion of androgynous kids at his neighborhood and how confident they looked but also how they never floated above the world, simply existing as if none saw smth wrong with them, Willie felt safe under that thought. Alex talks about sneaking into clubs and dancing the whole night and how none cared the way he moved, except to cheer him on it, dance always blurred the lines between masculine and feminine moves, he was just Alex, til someone in the club would compliment him and finish with calling him "girl", with no ounce of mockery, while that didn't made him feel right, didn't made him feel wrong either.
Neither of them ever showed a problem with liking "girl stuff", it was never a secret that Alex had a thing for pink and none in his band ever said smth bad abt it, Willie knew the adults always criticized his hair, his pierced ear and all his bracelets, but he didn't care it was just them being old, most of kids his age were getting those.
Things only became quite clear when they became ghosts and entered the new queer generation, that talked loudly about gender non conforming people and mixed up pronouns. Sure it sounded like a whole mess, but Willie was all about the mess. Alex was startled by how everything came to surface so fast and had a ton of questions.
Julie was already used to answering his questions, so after explaining what gender non conformity is and non binary different labels to Alex and Willie, she proposed to make experimentation party. Flynn was invited, the boys were there to mess around, everyone was trying on makeup and painting nails, cross dresing, some harmful mockery was made by Luke and Reggie but dutifully corrected by the girls, leaving even Willie and Alex with a new lesson. God, how awful was their time? Of course Luke and Reggie apologized, even Alex apologized because he never thought that jokes like were actually harmful.
After their little party, it wasn't unusual for them painting nails, even Reggie was wearing more eyeliner before their gigs (hell knows how he applied it without a mirror) but it was for fun. It felt different for Willie to have his nails painted and putting on girl shorts, for Alex, it was about intertwined terms when referring to him. It felt so new to both of them, and different, and old. It felt like realizing he was gay again. Willie was the first to tell Alex he didn't felt like he was boy entirely, like it was okay for him to behave like one, but he didn't felt attached to it like an identity, Alex said it was okay and that he'd still be his boyfriend.
As Willie started to present way more androgynous than before, now as a conscious decision, Alex started to question himself about that, spiraling again about what changes he'd had to adapt to if he thought about his gender identity. It was so easy for Willie, just changing without really changing. But for Alex, it carried multiple questions like, would that make him not a guy anymore? Would he still be gay? Would he have to come out again? What if he asked to change pronouns? "You don't have to do anything." Julie said. "There aren't rules to be non binary, hon, you see me? I'm genderfluid but i just love being girly." Flynn said. "And if there were, they certainly wouldn't apply to us." Willie said. Alex wanted to give it a chance. He didn't wanted to make a big deal out of it, so he just gave everyone a heads up before starting practice.
"She as in...girl?" Luke asked when Alex told he was going by he/she now. "Yeah." Alex didn't felt like explaining everything inside of it, sounded too complicated for the first conversation they were having about it. "Cool. Is that it?" And before Alex could say yes, Willie called out and said he was also changing pronouns, going only by they/them. Sure, everyone said. Reggie got confused and had the same questions Alex did when he spiraled about it, Alex said it didn't had to change anything, he was still alex, still gay, still their drummer, "whatever change it is, it's good change." They said. Alex agreed.
Except Alex didn't changed that much apart from being referred as her, being called girlfriend occasionally by his partner, and Reggie ranking girl petnames, Alex was okay with princess but not with dollface. Especially when Reggie added a southern accent to it. Willie changed, a hundred times, going back and forth. Alex liked their changes and celebrated each one.
So Alex and Willie were most definitely not girls, but they weren't exactly attached to being guys either. They were just ghosts. A ghost drummer, a ghost skater and each other's ghostfriend.

Julie as an exorcist for hire and Luke as her ghost partner au (Bring it On Ghost 😌)
and/or
JATP characters meet working a a pet store au (let’s pretend it’s a super ethical one where all the pets are rescues ok lol)
HOOO BOY OK ok ok ok OK
edit: uh. yeah. good luck reading this it’s so long but then so rushed idk man enjoy……….
edit 2: wait shit i just reread your ask and u specifically said julie exorcist and luke ghost…..I APOLOGISE. STILL WORKS………….
get it on ghost au:
so luke’s always been plagued with the gift of seeing ghosts - he hates it, it’s mostly annoying when they show up unannounced declaring that he has to help them — and worst of all, it’s exhausting having to get rid of the creepy ones in ways other than just guiding them spiritually (ie beating the crap out of them)
it took up too much of his time and he just wanted to focus on his music man
he figures out at one point tho that he can make a business out of it — make some money by advertising his skills (without his parents knowing cause well. they wouldn’t necessarily agree to it) and getting people to pay him to ‘exorcise’ ie beat the crap out of ghosts that refuse to move on and just insist on haunting the living
(alex and reggie know about this of course. esp when they suddenly have nicer practice rooms to chill in. alex isn’t thrilled he’s actually terrified, but reggie just wants to join in on all the client calls luke gets)
AND THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING: so one day luke gets a text from a potential client asking him to head over to the abandoned los feliz high school building (that particular building was shut down a couple years ago because of a tragedy and hasn’t really been dealt with yet)
BUT BASICALLY the text asks him to check out the building cause there’s this one notorious ghost that keeps scaring all the high school students in the buildings nearby and they just need it to be dealt with (he’s seen those high school kids running past it like their lives depended on it
luke’s happy to oblige, especially when he finds out how much the client is willing to pay, and heads over — only to get the surprise of a lifetime. he meets a ghost who 1. turns out to be the one who texted him (so he’s not getting paid and that’s not great news) and 2. is a cute girl who looks very much human and not like any of the other ghosts he’s met before
he’s taken aback, especially when she kicks his ass (and helps him kick the resident ghost’s ass)
it’s a whole cat and mouse thing for a while, she keeps following him whenever he’s alone and he keeps telling her to leave him alone (mostly cause she’s hella cute and he seriously can’t afford to catch feelings for a dead girl yknow). he tells her she needs to pay him or move on and she keeps insisting that she just wants to figure out who she is!! how she died!! who her family is!! so that she can move on!!!
so they strike up a deal: he helps her (her name’s julie, by the way) figure out who she is, the mystery revolving her death and why she can’t remember anything, and she, in turn, helps him on the job (she’s got a wicked left kick), slowly paying him back with her skills since she never paid him for that one job (the abandoned high school building, remember that?)
so she tags along wherever he goes (at first to his dismay), even joining in on band practice (the boys know of her existence and try to be as considerate as possible considering they can’t see her)
things start to change between the two the second luke hears julie sing, fingers slipping on metal strings when she follows the melody perfectly and holy shit he’s a goner (the boys are confused af they’ve never seen luke lose focus when it comes to band practice)
THEY SPEND THE NIGHT TALKING AND HE FINDS OUT SHE DIDNT EVEN KNOW SHE COULD SONG- he tries to get her to play various instruments to see maybe she was into that and turns out she can play piano!! and oh?? SHE CAN ALSO WRITE SONGS??? match made in heaven soulmates luke’s fucked and fully in love with a ghost etc etc
ah fuck this is getting long i’m so sorry but let me continue:
so this is where we meet our antagonist: the music teacher at los feliz, the one luke’s seen loitering around the high school (alex goes to that school and whenever luke stopped by for lunch he’d see the somewhat creepy teacher)
and he gets a bad feeling from him every single time
TO MAKE THIS SHORT LMAO: turns out julie’s accident had soemthing to do with the teacher, caleb covington, and turns out she was a student at that school!! 10 years ago!!
ALSO: SHES BOT ACTUALLY DEAD? SHES IN A COMA????? what a plot twist. it’s why she looks so normal so human. it’s why she’s never felt like any other ghost.
anyway stuff happens luke figures out caleb is some weird powerful ghost demon who sucks the life out of students for their talents and that’s what happened to julie except he never managed to finish the job.
luke finds a way to bring her back to life and together they fight caleb and it’s A HAPPY ENDING OH JESUS
do you still want the pet store au??? lmao
julie starts working at a pet store, she meets reggie first, and he takes her round the store introducing her to all the animals and staff members and when they reach the puppies section they find a guy their age on the floor on his back being attacked by several puppies (licking his face) and it’s the cutest thing julie’s seen in a while
that is until reggie shouts “luke! new person coming through” and the boy on the floor sits up and julie sees his face and decides actually. that’s the cutest thing she’s seen in a while
anyway.
coworkers romance and all that jazz 😌
she finds out he sings to the scared puppies and agitated animals at the store, and it melts her heart. he hears her sing along to one of his songs one day, matching the harmony perfectly, and he melts.
they fall in love and live happily ever after the end
AAAAAAH

Crush crush! Being asked to take photos, rulie
Everyone jokes that Reggie is the band's Instagram boyfriend for a reason.
He takes beautiful candid photos, seemingly at random, but the end result is always, as he says, worth it. Or, well. Almost always. It had scared Julie to death when he nearly got run over once, no matter how ethereal Willie looked in the picture Reggie had managed to take.
He'll do anything for that perfect shot, anything besides stopping in the street after Julie had cried that last time: lay on the floor, crack a joke, even sit on Alex's shoulders or rearrange the furniture. Carlos had been convinced they were being haunted until he saw Reggie do it.
So yeah. He deserves the title, and he deserves recognition for the beauty he captures, the pure amount of love he manages to filter through every photo.
The photos he takes of everyone but her.
Okay, that's not entirely fair. Julie's in plenty of group shots. She's just…not in any of the gorgeous solo candids.
"Am I vain?" she asks Flynn in a fit of desperation, frowning down at the latest picture that she isn't in. "For caring?"
Flynn wraps her in a hug. "Aw, Jules. I don't think so. Of course you're feeling left out. For what it's worth, though, I'm pretty sure he just can't look right at you."
She sighs into Flynn's shoulder. "Sure."
"I'm serious! Remember when you wore that new halter wrap bikini? He nearly fell off of the pier. Boy kept his distance so he wouldn't drown and die."
Julie shakes her head as they unravel, but she can't suppress a smile.
"There's no way. Reggie's practically part fish, Flynn."
"He was so flustered, Jules. He would've forgotten how."
She doesn't quite believe it, but it does prompt her to hatch a plan.
The next time she sees Reggie, she's wearing a new sundress and a shy smile, along with a complex braid.
He looks like a startled deer.
She lays her hand on his arm before he can retreat behind his bass, soundly ignoring the bemused looks that Luke and Alex are sending them.
"Could you do me a favor?"
A pink flush pools high on his cheeks, and she feels a little bad for putting him on the spot, but then he swallows and says—
"Anything."
And he says it so lowly and sincerely that sparks dance in the pit of her stomach.
She looks at him through her lashes.
"Would you take some pictures? So I can really see what this braid looks like?"
"Yeah," he breathes, "yeah, of course."
But he doesn't have that intense shine in his eyes as he aims her phone at her. He doesn't bite his lip, or lay on the ground, or say anything to make her smile or laugh. She eventually turns of her own volition.
And the photos he took are…fine.
They're just fine.
Every time she asks, rinse and repeat. She never gets those photos that glow.
She's starting to feel just a little unloved.
It's Flynn, of course, who figures it out.
"Jules…when's the last time you went through your deleted photos?"
"Never? You know me," she replies slowly, tracking every astonished twitch of Flynn's face with mounting dread."What is it?"
Flynn wordlessly passes her the phone.
Julie's breath catches.
She swipes through shot after shot, multiple candids of her with Reggie's signature warmth shining through. There's a softness to them that she's never seen before, though, something in the composition and the coloring and the moments he's captured that make her…
Beautiful. Bewitching.
Beloved.
The next time he sees her, he's wearing that deer in the headlights look again.
She supposes that's fair. She can count the amount of times that she's stood on his front porch on one hand.
As soon as he steps through the screen door, though, she launches herself at him, and he stumbles from the force of it, the way she presses him against the house.
The way she presses him to her heart.
She tucks her face into the crook of his neck. She tries not to cry. "Reggie."
"I'm here," he murmurs, rubbing her back. "I'm right here, Julie. What's the matter?"
"You love me," she says, stubbornly sliding her fingers through his belt loops when he flails, "and you weren't going to tell me."
His throat clicks. "How—I—how could I?"
She pulls back to look at him through her slightly tear-clumped lashes.
"You could've just showed me any of those photos. I was starting to think that I'd done something…that you didn't love me at all, and I must've done something because you love so much. I thought you never took photos of me. It…really hurt."
"Oh, Julie." He presses his lips to her forehead, a soft contrast to the roughness of his voice. "I'm sorry, I never—I only—I love you so much. Too much. I'm in love with you, Julie, and I couldn't hide it. Not unless I kept deleting all my pictures of you. The good ones, anyway."
She takes a shuddering breath. Tilts her head to meet his eyes and all of the emotions shimmering there, like so many facets of a precious set of gems.
"I wish you would've said. Reggie, don't you know? You're easy to love. I really, really like you, and I know I could fall in love with you, too. If…if you'll let me."
"Yeah," he breathes. "Yeah, if you're sure."
When she leans in to press her lips to his, she's never been more sure of anything.
The next photo he posts is one he caught of her, laughing and unaware, as she adjusts her sunhat in the passenger seat. Orange light streams through in an artful flare, and she doesn't hate the way her nose is scrunched, for once.
@therealreginald: best date w/ the best girl
@ julie's_butterflies: 💜💜💜
So. Everyone jokes that Reggie is the band's Instagram boyfriend for a reason.
Julie's just glad he's her boyfriend for real.

Happy birthday @innytoes!!!
This fic is based on the post you made that got me to ship RayReggie in the first place. I wrote this fic to honor the shenanigans the post led to. Thank you for being my friend and indulging my ideas. You’re such a creative and supportive person, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate your birthday.
“Help me propose to Julie.”
Reggie was stoked that Luke was getting engaged. Julie was the best, which was reason enough to be excited, but it also meant that Reggie would get the chance to be the best best man in the history of best men (Bobby and Alex were more than happy to let Reggie be best man because he was so excited about it). Reggie was going to knock the whole best man thing out of the park.
You know, after Luke proposed and all of that.
Luke wrote a song for her because of course he did. He was Luke. He showed it to Reggie and got his input, and Reggie was touched that Luke trusted him enough as a musician to workshop his proposal song with him. He also asked for Reggie’s help to plan the location, day, and time.
“Shouldn’t you coordinate that with Julie?” Reggie asked.
“I need you to be there too. Her family is going to want pictures, especially her aunt. She’s already been hinting about it.”
“So, you want me to creepily hide in the bushes and take photos of you proposing?”
“Yes?” Luke said, sounding unsure now that Reggie phrased it like that.
Reggie shrugged, smiling. “Sure, sounds fun!” Then he got an idea. “Actually, do you want a professional photographer to do it?”
“I don’t really want to pay a stranger to creepily hide in the bushes and take pictures of me.”
“You don’t have to pay a stranger,” Reggie clarified. “I know a guy who will do it for free.” He started fidgeting with his fingers. “I’m actually, kind of, dating a guy who will do it for free.”
Reggie hadn’t told the band about Ray. It was just easier that way. Alex already teased him about his Daddy Thing without knowing that his boyfriend was a silver fox, and he didn’t want to subject Ray to the shovel talk Luke and Bobby would most certainly give him. He liked him—loved him—too much for that. (And besides, Ray had also yet to introduce Reggie to his adult children, so they were, like, mutually hiding each other from the people in their lives.)
But recently, he’d been trying to figure out how to bring it up. Their relationship was getting more serious, and they were thinking about moving in together, and he couldn’t just say to the guys one day, “Hey, I’m moving out so I can live with a guy you’ve never met and who I’ve never even mentioned until now, okay bye!”
Luckily, the perfect opportunity had fallen into his lap. Luke needed a photographer. And Ray was a photographer. Luke couldn’t say anything negative about Ray or their relationship if Ray was doing something nice for him. Plus, Luke would get some awesome shots of the proposal, so it was a win-win.
Luke’s face lit up. “Wait, since when are you dating someone?”
“A little while,” Reggie said, unwilling to go into details just yet. “But he’s a professional photographer, and he’d definitely help us out if I asked.”
“Sweet! Let me know when he’s available!”
That was how Reggie found himself anxiously waiting for Luke with Ray at the agreed-upon location so they could go over the plan before Julie showed up.
Ray must have noticed that Reggie was nervous because he took Reggie’s hand. “It’s going to be okay. Your friends sound like lovely people. I’m sure it will go just fine.”
“You’re not nervous at all?”
“Maybe a little. It helps that I have my camera and reason to be here besides just meeting your friend and his fiancé as your boyfriend.”
“They’re not engaged yet. He still has to propose, remember?”
“Of course.”
Reggie spotted Luke as he rounded the hedge that Reggie and Ray would be hiding behind, and he waved him over. “Hey!” He pointed at Ray. “This is—”
“Mr. Molina?!” Luke’s eyes were wide.
“Luke?” Ray said.
Reggie glanced between them as he realized that they recognized each other. “Oh. You two know each other?”
“Better question:” Luke said, “you’re dating my girlfriend’s dad?”
Reggie processed Luke’s words and said, “Wait, your Julie,” he pointed at Luke, “and your Julie” he pointed at Ray, “are the same Julie???”
“Hold on,” Ray said, “You knew Luke was dating someone named Julie, and you knew my daughter’s name is Julie, and you didn’t put that together?”
“There’s a lot of Julies in LA! I could say the same thing about how you never figured out that my Luke and Julie’s Luke are the same Luke!”
Ray stared off into space as he processed that. “You’re right.”
Holy shit, Reggie was dating the father of his best friend’s fiancé (soon-to-be-fiancé, but still). He’d met Julie, just not as Ray’s daughter. That meant that if he and Ray got married, he’d be Julie’s stepdad. And by extension, after Julie and Luke got married, he’d be Luke’s stepfather-in-law, even though Luke was older than him.
It was that—the idea of being the stepfather-in-law to his best friend who was older than him—that broke him.
It started with a snort that descended into a fit of hysterical giggles. As Reggie practically doubled over, holding Ray’s hand for all he was worth in an attempt to keep himself upright, Luke said, “I think we broke him.” Which of course only made Reggie laugh harder.
“Just give him a minute,” Ray said back. “He’ll settle down.”
When Reggie could breathe again, he wiped the tears from his eyes. “Sorry, this is just… too weird.”
“Oh, it’s too weird for you?” Luke said. “I just found out that my best friend is dating my girlfriend’s dad!”
Ray added, “And I just found out that my boyfriend is friends with my future son-in-law.”
“Yeah, I think we can all agree that this is super weird,” Luke said, “but anyway, thank you for helping us, Mr. Molina.”
“Luke, how many times do I have to tell you to call me Ray?”
“At least one more,” Reggie quipped before they started discussing logistics.
The proposal went off without a hitch. Everyone cried when Luke performed his song for Julie, and Ray managed to get some amazing shots to show Julie’s aunt later. Julie only stared off into space for a few minutes when she learned about her dad’s relationship with her fiancé’s best friend, so that was a win.
And when Luke and Reggie told Alex and Bobby about the whole thing later? They made him sign a contract saying he was only allowed one dad joke per year with the penalty that he wouldn’t get to be best man. Reggie happily signed it knowing that after the wedding, once he had already been best man, it would be open season on the dad jokes.
And he already knew the perfect opportunity for the first one: his best man speech.

Hehehe YouTuber au headcanons?
More Youtuber AU!
-So Carrie is clearly huge in the fashion and beauty and lifestyle spheres. She does brutally honest product reviews with stuff she buys herself (because fuck sponsorships that require you say nice things), makeovers for herself and Reggie into different styles, make-up tips and routines, and every now and then she goes all Rich Youtuber and surprises her subscribers with like, a shopping spree or buying poor kids their prom outfits or whatever.
-Reggie's favourite was the one where she got them both a full historically accurate Renaissance Faire get-up.
-Also of course Dirty Candi has its own channel and they do stuff for that too.
-Very few people link Carrie's cute hype-man and boyfriend Reggie to that video essay channel that goes really, really in depth into Star Wars lore and background details, mostly because he doesn't show his face on that one.
-Some people are like: hey isn't he that tiktok guy who films himself giving dogs at the park the most unhinged compliments. (Insert clip of Reggie telling a Pomeranian she could lead armies and help them win the skeleton war, while she wags and lets him pet her)
-Alex has a reaction channel where he does both shows and movies he's never seen/was never allowed to watch as a child, as well as like tiktok stories and memes. People like his snarky sense of humour. They also love whenever he does something horror, because he insists on watching it with his cute boyfriend, who is 100% not phased by anything and will be like: it's okay babe the werewolf is just tearing that guy apart. Remember, he deserved it, he was rude to that gas station attendant trying to warn them not to go into Werewolf Woods.
-Willie doesn't have a youtube but he does post sick skateboard tricks on tiktok.... sometimes in locations he Should Not Be.
-Flynn has a channel where she makes parody songs and raps. Julie and the guys are sometimes featured.
-They all live together in a big mansion and people are like: OMG IT'S ANOTHER YOUTUBE HYPE HOUSE and Carrie is like: um no, this is my fucking house and the others just live here because else it gets boring and also Reggie is like a sad puppy if he doesn't get to hang out with his friends at least an hour every day.
-Julie as a Sims Youtuber. She started playing a lot after her mom died because you can turn on the Sims and forget about everything and suddenly it's four hours later, and she needed that at the start to just get through the days. She's got a few long-running series that are very popular.
-Julie is the only one going to school because her Tía would murder her if she dropped out of college to become a youtuber. Ray promises her he'll be proud no matter what she does but also he doesn't really understand Youtube and how you can make a living with it. He's very happy to help film on bigger projects or give camera advice to everyone, though.
-Everyone has guest starred on Carlos' ghost hunter show and people keep wondering how the hell he knows all these famous youtubers because he's such a small channel.
-Luke is the guy who is like: COME ON GUYS YOUTUBE ISN'T A VALID CAREER WE NEED TO BE DISCOVERED AS A BAND THE OLD FASHIONED WAY. He's like a cryptid that pops up in the background of everyone's videos. There's special Youtube Compilations of him from across the different channels, and he HATES IT.

Let’s get you out of these wet clothes
Prompt from an old @innytoes prompt list
Their “cool teleportation skills” had gotten a little unpredictable and sometimes Luke and Reggie thought it would be fun to test their limits. Unfortunately these tests also usually came with an important “forgot to think things through” component that often left Julie and Alex cleaning up after… something. Today was no exception.
Of course leaving the two anxious band members behind was also a recipe for disaster. So they had a system. They were allowed to start worrying after a certain amount of time had passed or if a third person was present and also starting to worry. Today was again, no exception.
Julie and Alex were watching the clock, only minutes away from their predetermined worrying-permissible time (no, counting down to it doesn't count as worrying). Luke and Reggie had disappeared a while ago and shortly after, it had started raining. Heavily. And it hadn’t stopped. As was usually the case, they hadn’t disclosed their plans ahead of time, generally opting on adventure-filled chaos when they got up to whatever they got up to when they left their brain cell at home.
Alex and Julie hear a sudden crash just outside the studio and run to the doors, pushing them open in hopes that their bandmates had appeared and were met with what could only be described as two drowned puppies.
Alex drags them both into the studio while Julie runs to the bathroom to grab towels.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Alex chastises them once the doors are closed.
Julie throws towels at each of them and drapes another one around their shoulders. Their teeth are chattering and goosebumps line every bit of exposed skin. She’s about to start helping dry them off when she stops.
“Wait. No. Hold on,” she works through her thoughts and then turns her attention back to the boys. “Let’s get you out of these wet clothes and then warm showers.”
“J-j-j-julie,” Luke tries to protest and she rolls her eyes.
“It’s nothing I haven’t seen before, can it. Let’s go.”
Her and Alex help the boys undress down to their boxers, leaving the sopping wet clothes in a pile by the door. They both wrap up in towels and head to the back of the studio.
“Who’s idea was it this time?” Alex asks and at Reggie’s sheepish look, he turns his attention to Luke. “You’re first but be quick.” He shakes his head in dismay. “You two are going to get yourselves sick.”
Luke closes the bathroom door behind him and turns on the shower.
“W-w-w-we just w-w–w-wanted to get… b-b-b-but then we couldn’t get h-h-h-home,” Reggie manages to stutter out through his chattering teeth.
“Dude, save your energy.” Alex tells him, going to grab clean clothes for Luke and setting them just inside the door for him.
Luke follows directions for what may be the first time in his life and finishes his shower quickly, allowing Reggie the opportunity to warm up.
“What were you thinking?” Alex asks once Reggie is in the shower.
“We just wanted to get a nice thing for Julie but then we couldn’t poof home and had to walk.”
“Awww, thanks, Luke!” Julie beams at him and he grins at her.
Alex rolls his eyes. “How far did you go this time?”
Luke’s hand comes up to rub the back of his neck. “Uhhh, the pier?”
“Dude! You can’t keep going that far without telling us!”
He looks sheepish, “I know. I’m sorry.”
“So? What nice thing did you get?” Alex asks.
Luke looks up at him confused.
“For Julie? What did you get her?”
“Oh. They were closed. For the rain.”
Julie laughs as Alex groans as he shakes his head. “You two are fucking idiots.”

a random, vaguely lilo and stitch-inspired juke thing
Julie and Carlos’s Mom died a year ago because of an illness
Julie stopped singing at that point, switching from being the house musician to being just another waitress for Caleb Covington
Caleb hires a new in-house band: Sunset Curve
Luke doesn’t exactly make a great first impression, but eventually he and Julie become friends.
Ray, a Navy chaplain, is deployed six months after the death of his wife, leaving Julie to care for her ten-year-old brother.
Tia lives across the country, but drops in periodically to help (judge Julie’s ability to) care for her nephew. “Julie, sobrina, I love you. But I’m afraid that having to care for Carlos on your own is too much responsibility. Your father agreed that if at any time during his deployment I felt you were buckling, I would take Carlos back to New York with me.”
Luke has made his interest in Julie clear, but much as she wants to go out with him, she’s in school and working and trying to make sure that keeping Carlos with her, in the house where her mother lived, is the best thing for both of them in Tia’s eyes.
Luke really likes Julie and asks her out, but Julie’s got too much on her plate for a relationship, which is what she tells him, also acknowledging that she doesn’t really do “casual dating.”
Luke gets it and totally respects her, but still manages to weasel his way into her life in small ways–mostly with Carlos, but also, right before Tia is supposed to come, she ends up with a huge leak in the roof of the house that she grew up in. Luke, Alex, Reggie, and Bobby all come help fix the leak, as well as look around the house and do all the repairs that she hasn’t managed to get to yet.
After a month, Luke asks again, on a really bad night, only to be turned down again. When she walks away, Carlos fills Luke in. “Don’t worry. It’s just a bad day. She really likes your arms and your voice. (voice and your punk shirts/arms and impressive guitar skills) I know, I read her diary.” “She thinks I’m impressive?”
When Julie’s oven stops working suddenly and she totally breaks down, Carlos calls Reggie, who he has majorly bonded with while hanging out at the restaurant. Reggie calls Luke, Bobby, Alex, and Flynn, who all bring dinner. Flynn calls her brother’s roommate’s cousin’s friend, who happens to be good at fixing things, and Willie is introduced to the fam. (with Alex totally panicking because i’m so bad at flirting but he’s so cute ohmygosh what do I do??? Until, as he’s leaving, Willie casually asks for his number and invites him out!)
After Julie’s panic attack, the guys take on more responsibilities with Carlos and Flynn starts staying with them to help out. Slowly, over time, Julie realizes that the boys have become a crucial part of her family. When Luke comes with Julie to drop Carlos off and pick up something heavy somewhere(?) Julie has a moment of realization (in such an innocuous moment, naturally) of how good Luke has been to her and how that makes her like him even more. And would them dating be a bad thing? He’s already such a crucial part of her and Carlos’s life. So naturally, she asks him out right then and there and Luke drops whatever heavy thing it is in surprise and yelps when it falls on his foot and then after they get all of that squared away he’s like, “hell yes Julie. Of course I’ll go out with you!” and cue the happily ever after lol

Oooo, if you're still doing them, 10 for the band? Pick your people!
ty for this one!! you said pick your people and i proceeded to not in fact pick people, so here’s 10 for everyone <3 though i guess technically it's between alex & julie lol. but hey, they're all here!
10. “Text me when you’re safe at home.”
Usually, Alex stays over at the Molinas after movie night.
They gather every Friday around dinner time, as many of their friends – most times, all of them – as are able to make it. They eat dinner with Julie’s family, who are always happy to host them, and then spread out on the Molinas’ couches. They take turns picking movies and buying snacks, but their roster ends up looking pretty similar each time: a popular movie most of them somehow haven’t seen, a terrible movie for them to talk through, and either an animated movie or a musical one. On the best days, those latter two are combined.
Tonight, Alex and Reggie have one of the couches to themselves. Willie sits with them most times, but they were unable to make it. Reggie is taking full advantage of the extra space by sprawling out on top of the entire couch, feet propped up in Alex’s lap. Flynn, Julie, and Luke share one of the larger couches. They have the worst view of the TV but the best access to the snacks, which they think is a pretty good deal.
Alex is only half paying attention to tonight’s first movie. It’s Indiana Jones, something he likes but isn’t crazy about, and unlike most others here, he’s actually seen the full movie several times. He’s content to zone out, eating some popcorn and watching his friends. Not in a creepy way, of course. In a loving way. He loves his friends.
He sinks back into the cushions a little deeper. The Molinas’ couches are much more comfortable than the one they have at the Mercers’. He could easily fall asleep on them. Half the time, he ends up doing just that. Today, however, he can’t.
For the first time in months, he’s unable to stay the night. He has a family reunion tomorrow, and his parents insist that he has to be home on time, so he’s heading out after the  first movie ends. It’s a shame, really. Alex thinks he could easily wake up early tomorrow and make it over to his parents’ place in time, but they clearly disagree, and he doesn’t want to start an argument. He’ll just enjoy the time he has with his friends while he has it.
Unfortunately, that time is flying by. Logically, Alex knows that this movie is almost two hours long. It feels like only two minutes have passed by the time the credits roll. He gently moves Reggie’s feet from his laps, sighing.
“Time to go?” Luke asks. He sounds disappointed. Alex shares the sentiment.
“Yeah,” he says, stretching out his back. “You guys have fun, though. I’ll see myself out.”
Julie scoffs. She’s already untangling herself from the blanket she and Flynn had snuggled under.
“No you won’t,” she says, joining him near the door. “We’ll walk you out. We need a break anyway.”
And so they do, all of them getting up and shuffling towards the door. They watch as Alex tugs on his shoes and grabs his jacket. Alex’s heart aches with the love he feels for them. It would’ve been so easy for them to stay put, to just call out their goodbyes and start the next movie. He wouldn’t even have been offended or anything, he would’ve understood. But they didn’t do that. Instead, they wait.
“Have fun tomorrow,” Reggie says once Alex zips up his jacket. “I hope the cake is good.”
“But maybe don’t eat the hot dogs,” Luke suggests. He has a blanket wrapped around his shoulders like a cape.
Alex snorts. “I doubt my grandparents will be serving those, but I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Do you have everything?” Flynn asks. “Phone, keys, wallet?”
Alex pats his pockets and fanny pack, confirming that he does, indeed, have everything he needs.
“Have fun with the other movies,” he says.
Reggie is the first to throw himself at him to hug him goodbye. His friends line up after that, everyone wishing him fun for the next day, and good luck for dealing with his less-than-pleasant relatives.
“Text us when you’re home safe,” Julie mumbles into Alex’s shoulder. He holds her a little tighter.
“I will,” he promises. Then, with a final look at his friends, he opens the front door and steps outside.
Twenty minutes later, he toes off his shoes and immediately heads up the stairs and to his bedroom. It’s quite late already, so his parents have gone to bed already, and now that he’s out of the cold, Alex feels the exhaustion of the week seeping into his bones. He rushes through his nighttime routine and curls up under the blankets. Once he’s comfortable, he reaches for his phone.
Alex: home safe. love you all.

someone mentioned blo pens and it got me thinking they came out in like the late 90s so they could be brought up in the "what did we miss" talk
Tumblr media
would the boys like them? i think Reggie would love them actually like Julie or Flynn randomly mentions them and the boys are curious so they look it up and Reggie is mesmerized, Alex is kinda like iffy but he'll try, and Luke is just no Then it's just out of sight out of mind for a while until Flynn drops by with a box and everyone goes ham Reggie ropes Luke into actually trying it and he doesn't like it but Reggie is happy so he's doing it Alex somehow masters the fucker in 0.2 seconds flat and draws Willie and him together, and Reggie just uses a horse stencil and a millon other little star and heart ones, Luke just makes a guitar Then Flynn outshines them all and makes a literal masterpiece of like them all jamming or something and when they look at her in awe and shock, she just says "What? I practiced." - also completely different idea, what if Julie introduces them to doll customizing? again they all try it for fun but Alex is the one who likes it the most and over the course of like a month or 2 he pops out the entire band, Willie, and Flynn dolls when he feels stressed, he starts up a wip or a new one. literally falls down the rabbit hole of doll youtubers and Willie is so touched, never been given a gift before in a While and his sweet disaster boyfriend gives him something that took hours? possibly days? whew, he's in love lmao Reggie likes playing around with them and Willie and Julie join him, and Alex and Luke get roped in ofc so doll tea parties kfnvibvu Ray buys Barbie stuff because he finds Julie at one of her tea parties omg he just pulls up with a Barbie car and penthouse, and Julie is equally mortified and grateful? Reggie is just estatic and everyone else is just so amused ok wrote this instead of going to bed at a normal hour and its long ibyivb
