Drusilla’s Soul- Ch. 28
DIGITAL WORLD- NIGHTMARE SOLDIERS
There was a dark castle in the middle of the desert that was surrounded by large, towering mountains. Inside, there were many more rooms with countless different rooms that contained different types of weapons.
In one room, there was a beautiful woman wearing a purple kimono underneath a black catsuit. She had long black tied up in a geisha bun with a golden ornament in her hair, leaving her bangs apart on the sides of her face. She had a bat tattoo on her forehead called Mark of Evil. She had purple eyeshadow, purple lipstick, and purple nail polish. In her right hand, she wore a golden gauntlet called Nazar Nail, everything she had touched and she had four bat-like wings on her back, the small ones on her upper back and the large ones on her lower back.
She was sitting on her throne in the center of the room, the moonlight shining through her windows giving a silver light to the scene below. She drank her red wine as it made its way from her glass to her lips. Her mind drifted away from everything around her as she focused solely on herself and what she was going to do next. Everything seemed normal and peaceful until all the guards walked inside the throne room. When they reached her throne, they bowed down to the ground and then raised themselves back up again.
"Lady Lilithmon, we have located a man who is heading towards the real world with his companions," said Dynasmon.
"Oh? Tell me about him," Lilithmon said, her eyes never moving off of her wine bottle.
"His name is Angelus, and he's a vampire leader of Fanged Four. He's already killed several humans before he came here." Dynasmon explained.
"Hmm..." Lilithmon placed a hand over her mouth as if she was thinking hard. "Is he strong?" she asked.
"He's very powerful, my lady." answered Dynasmon.
"How strong are his friends?" Lilithmon tilted her head and asked.
"I wouldn't say they're weak either. They're quite well known for their prowess, but I'd expect them to be stronger than him. The cult is called Order of Aurelius and they claim to be followers of a new god, a demon called The Master." Dynasmon finished.
Lilithmon didn't answer, she was still lost in thought. She looked at Dynasmon after she finished drinking her wine. "Order of Aurelius, huh? I've never heard of this before. What makes these people so powerful?" she asked in a curious tone.
"They claim to be descendants from demons that lived hundreds of years ago during an era where humans still lived on earth." Alphamon began explaining what she knew. "The Cult believes that those ancient beings can resurrect humans using their blood; this makes them extremely dangerous when it comes to fighting against other demons. They also believe that they can control the dead, which is why they call themselves the Order of Aurelius."
"Interesting... I wonder how much power they actually possess." Lilithmon mused.
"My lady, I have heard of this woman who has a soul. Her name is Drusilla. She was a member of Fanged Four that she used to work with. Angelus murdered her family and made her insane before he turned her into a demon. He had her in 1860 in London when she joined Angelus. 42 years ago, she was cursed by Kalderash clan to have a soul and she knew what she had done and she fled from the team. After that, Drusillla still had a soul and saved people from Angelus,” said Dynasmon.
"A soul? Interesting." Lilithmon curled her lips into a small smirk. “I wonder how strong she really is.” Lilithmon stood up from the couch she sat on and stretched.
Lilithmon walked to the window, her long dress gliding as she walked. She looked at the full moon, it was like a pearl shining down upon her.
"Well, Dynasmon, Alphamon, gather the strongest troops and prepare our forces for war." she commanded.
"Yes, my lady." said Alphamon and Dynasmon in unison.
They left the throne room while Lilithmon saw these two left. She smiled to herself.
‘Angelus, huh? I should give my men a try…’ Lilithmon smirked before turning her gaze to the night sky. ‘Drusilla is such a beautiful girl. Beautiful as I am.’
Laboratory - 11:40 AM
"Let's commence with the final test, shall we? This satellite is the one I've used in my studies of this particular object, and it was my understanding that you are interested to take a look at it if it works as expected," said Mr. Trick, showing Darla what he had brought along for the examination.
"This will cover the sun with the red sky above the Earth's surface, which you know can be seen from the broad daylight if you look at. Let the test begin," said Mr. Trick, pressed the button as the panel was opened, and the two victims were standing outside of the opened door.
There was a hideous beast coming out of the entrance, it was a large bat, looking humanoid standing 16 feet tall. It had black skin with no fur, had a muscular build, and its wings were spread behind it, like some sort of huge bat's wings. Its head-triangular, with a flat face and horn-like protrusions with certain bat-like features, but its eyes had no pupils. The mouth was wide open with sharp fangs protruding from it. In place of hair on it, there were spikes growing out of the skull.
The creature screeched inhumanly loudly. Both men screamed in fear. The creature was about to hunt them, but the sun burned the bat aflame.
“Hmph. A surprising result,” mused Darla.
“It has an effect similar to the sun’s radiation, but far more intense. Intiate the red sky,” said Mr. Trick, pressed the red button as the satellite activated.
The sky had turned blood red and everything around it had turned dark except for the white light emanating from the street lights.
“Now let’s do another test,” said Mr. Trick.
The panel opened once again, another bat demon began to slaughter the both men and them.
“Dead God! Never thought I’d see the day when vampires can really look in daylight,” amazed Darla.
“It exactly works perfectly. The vampire blood has a much higher concentration than sunlight or any other kind of energy source. So much so that it gives off an extremely concentrated amount of radiation. Even the UV rays won’t cause any real effects,” explained Trick. “In fact, vampires have found their own way to use this radiation when fighting against their enemies.”
“How impressive. And you say that you can create a super strong, radioactive substance in a matter of a second? That would explain why we don't see the effects when the vampires are exposed to the sunlight,” said Darla.
“Yes… But even vampires can’t survive without eating blood or some type of animal blood to replenish itself. With this red sky surrounding us, we can able to walk into the daylight and hunt them humans,” said Mr. Trick.
Darla grinned wickedly, “That would be the best possible scenario for vampires, wouldn’t it? To hunt humans like prey. And destroy the race of man.”
12:30 Shibuya, Tokyo
The citizen walked lively down the street and the transportation stopped at every traffic lights they encountered as they continued to head towards their destination. The schoolgirls chatted while they were strolling down the street.
Davis walked inside the Starbucks and ordered his treats. He ordered a caramel Frappuccino and raspberry jelly danish.
Meanwhile, the sky had turned something onimous red due to the sun’s heat. The streets in Shibuya were still packed full of people, but they were all heading into the convenience store and coffee shop that would have been considered as a luxury if not for its location next to the subway station itself.
The man noticed the sky was hint of red and frowned slightly upon seeing it.
“Hey, look up there,” said the man as he gestured upwards with his hand as a signal for others who are near to him to follow suit. A few bystanders looked up in the direction of his gesture and confused.
“This sky is a bit red, I’ve never seen it anything like this,” said the man 2.
“It sure looks pretty onimous,” said the woman, slightly worried.
After Davis paid for the Starbucks and thanked them and exited as he carried his treats. He took a sip of his caramel Frappuccino and hummed happily at the taste. It wasn’t too strong or too sweet, which made Davis like it even more. He was a man of his word after all, he always kept his word.
As he was walking along, he noticed something unusual happening in front of him.
“Look, Mommy. The sky is turning red,” said the little girl pointing to the sky.
“That’s weird,” her mother agreed. “I thought the sky was normal just now. Are you sure it isn’t because of the sunlight?”
“No, you didn’t see how red the sky was. This is different,” said the little girl.
‘Red sky?’ thought Davis was puzzled. He then looked up and the sky turned slightly red.
‘Where did it come from? And why does the sky turn red?’ thought Davis.
Just then the sky turned redder and redder, until it turned a dark shade of red as the sun vanished behind the horizon except the lights still left from the city.
“What the hell?! Everything is red!” exclaimed the man 2.
The citizens began clamoring over each other to try and figure out what was going on as well as where the sun went.
“I’d better call the others,” whispered Davis to himself. He reached out for his phone and contacted Tai.
At Kamiya Residence
“Yeah, I see it,” said Tai that Davis told him something terrible had happened. He had no idea why the sky had turned red, but it certainly sounded bad. “We need to go right away.”
He hung up and scowled at the sky, it was red and everything. How is it possible that the sun suddenly disappeared and the sky turned red without any reason at all? What has gone wrong?

Some fandoms really want every mean girl character to be Cordelia Chase or Miu Kamenriderfourze. Nothing about their canonical characterization can prevent this fanon characterization. But I'm sorry, not every girl is cut out to be a queen

Part Seven - Rogues
1928
Spike found himself running through woods in the middle of the night in search of his beloved Drusilla only to find his sire dancing on a field, which had been scorched by fire, as the raven-haired vampire continued swaying from side to side, laughing away at herself in the process making Spike curious to what she was up to now. “Dru, what are you doing out here?” Spike asked the woman he loved as he walked towards her, pulled her body into his arms, and began dancing with Drusilla. “Here on these very grounds lies a future of torment, torture, and agonizing pain…it’s so delicious it makes me giddy!” Drusilla replied as she continued to slow dance with her immortal lover. “One day I’m going to raise a family right here, and will almost be worth all that I’ll have to lose before then…” “I was worried you got yourself killed babe; you know you’re not at your full strength,” Spike confessed admitting his fears for her. “Oh, my dear William, I will be the only one who will not die, not once, even at times when I’m so lonely I wish I would die…” Drusilla sighed with a profound sense of sadness, wanting to stay in that moment but knowing the future was coming. “You’ll always have me!” Spike protested, meaning what he said with all his heart but not knowing what the future would hold for him and the woman he loved more than he could ever imagine loving someone…at the time.
1977
Following Angelus leaving her after regaining his soul and Darla returning to The Master, Drusilla knew her time with Spike was nearing an end, that the quest for her to become strong again would be the beginning of the end for them both and despite how much sadness the thought of losing her beloved Spike one day, she knew her and Spike’s trip to New York would bring some happiness to them both as Spike set out to kill his second vampire slayer, Nikki Wood, while Drusilla set her sights on siring a new vampire, the first child of her new family. Drusilla had spent most of the night watching Tobias from a distance, she followed him as he walked home from his work at a diner nearby to his rundown studio apartment, watched him as he got strung up on drugs, and noticed that this man was far from the one she had seen in her visions. At first glance, this man was no more than a depressed junkie who without her input would die a nobody within a matter of years, but as she watched him further, she began to see the potential hidden deep within him and decided to make her move. “How sad a life you must live to need to block it out with every toxin available to you.” Drusilla greeted Tobias after he opened his apartment door to her, the vampire waiting in the hallway, ready to claim him as her own. “I can feel your pain as if it was my own and I know you are so lost you think you cannot find a way out of your despair, but mummy can make everything all better.” “Did Mick send you? He always did like his girls crazy as hell, just hand me the drugs already and tell Mick I’ll pay him when I get my wages from the diner.” Tobias replied to her, having no clue who she really was nor what she had planned for him. “I do not know this Mick, but I do know you, Tobias, I know who you are now, but I also know who you can be. I can give you meaning in this world, a purpose, and a love that will consume you…you will never be alone!” Drusilla said in a rather convincing tone, acting if she was the answer to his many troubles. “Whatever you are on lady…I want some.” Tobias responded in a mocking tone, confused by who this woman was and what she wanted from him. “I can you make you stronger than you ever imagined, give to you a family you have always longed for, make you part of something truly incredible and even lead you to the love of your life…once I make you worthy of him of course,” Drusilla promised the young man, knowing this time that her words were somewhat resonating with him, tempting him to give her a chance to prove she was telling him the truth, a chance which she would use to turn him into a vampire-like her…
The 2000s
Drusilla stood in the same field she had once stood in the late 20s, but what was now standing there was the abandoned building of an insane asylum, a building which had been built, used, and abandoned within the years since she had last visited this field. and the vampire could not prepare her eyes, for the place was even more beautiful, to her at least, than she found it in her many visions, and now that she had lost her beloved Spike, she could at least find some salvage in claiming the home she had dreamed off for many decades now. “It’s been a long time my darling boy, mummy would be so mad at you if you were not the only family, I had left…for now,” Drusilla told Tobias as he began walking up towards his sire until he was stood next to her. “I really did love that man just like I loved Angelus and grandmother, but they are all gone now…” “I still do not understand why you wasted so much time on that peroxide prick but then I’ve never been in love, if it were not for you, I’d have found it impossible for any vampire,” Tobias replied to the vampire who had created him. “You’ve certainly had your fair share of conquests though; you’ve been a very naughty boy but the time for you to settle down with your forever love is coming soon and mummy could not be more excited,” Drusilla revealed to him, knowing she was going closer to forming a new family, one she believed would be even better than the ones that came before.
Modern Day…
Buffy and Spike’s on/off relationship had reached its inevitable end almost two years ago, when their last split led to Buffy’s one night stand with Angel resulting in a baby which led to Buffy going M.I.A. after losing that baby, and in her absence, Spike had taken over the duties of protecting the city of San Francisco, a city which included Buffy’s sister Dawn Summers, Dawn’s daughter Joyce Harris, and Spike’s on/off roommate Xander Harris in its population. And it was during his patrolling duties within a local cemetery in the city of San Francisco that he was reunited with an old friend, one who would lead him into joining a mission to kill the first woman he ever loved… “Sneaking up on a vampire is a rather foolish move considering the heightened bloody hearing and everything,” Spike shouted into the dark night as he turned around looking for a face to come out of the shadows. “Calm down Spike I was merely trying to surprise an old friend.” Ruby Moon stated as she appeared from out of the shadows. “Someone who I owe my life to and yet have the audacity to ask another favor of.” “Well, if it isn’t the little witch, I helped break free from my ex-Dru’s crazy cult,” Spike said with a smile on his face, happy to see the witch in question. “I heard you were all suburban wife again living the normal life or as close to it as one can get married to one of Riley Finn’s G.I. blows.” “It’s good to see you again too!” Ruby responded with a chuckle as she walked towards the vampire, whom she considered being a good friend, one who she knew she could rely on. “So, go on and tell me what you need saving from this time? Please do not tell me your back being the ex’s magical minion again because you only get one save from that, the second time is on you!” Spike told her with a level of sarcasm, knowing he was about to help her again no matter what situation she had now found herself in. “Remember the friend we left behind? The one crazy enough to consider Drusilla as family. Well, he’s forming a team to kill that ex of yours, and something tells me you will want to be part of that team.” Ruby revealed to the vampire. “I’ve put Dru in my past and if you are smart you would too, let this friend of yours go it alone if he’s so determined serves him right for not getting out when you gave him the option anyway.” Spike rejected her offer, not loving Drusilla anymore but not wanting to be part of her death either. “This friend of mine is Theo Frey, and it just so turns out his mother happens to be your latest ex Buffy Summers’ son, I figured telling you that would help change your mind and everything considering you do not want to be the one telling the slayer that you had a chance to save her son and said no.” Ruby continued with her revelations, shocking Spike by the latest, knowing with certainty he would not reject her offer a second time.
Elsewhere, back in the city of Los Angeles, Theo Frey was once again stood behind his now run-down dive bar, the one he shared with his now-dead again lover Tobias, frozen in thought, with tears in his eyes, as he began to wonder whether Tobias was as guilty as Drusilla for killing his parents, wondering if his entire relationship with Tobias was just a lie and he had been nothing more than a fool to both him and his sire Drusilla. Suddenly, the very place he returned to for comfort, the place he lived with Tobias, and the place they have both called home, had become nothing more than a place of ruins holding memories of a past that the vampire/slayer hybrid could no longer believe to be true after Ruby’s recent revelations. “I did not think I would be seeing you again especially in the place you almost burned to the ground.” Theo declared after drying his eyes, as Faith Lehane, the vampire slayer determined on pestering him forever, walked into what remained of his demonic little dive bar. “Well, it’s not like you can be picky with your customers considering you only have half a bar these days.” Faith joked with the vampire as she walked over to the counter cautiously. “Your little friend Ruby left me this really sketchy video about you and her going to take out Drusilla and now Spike seems to be in on this little mission so I threw my hat in the ring considering you could do with another super strength in the ring, and something tells me you’re not exactly going to be hitting up B or Angel anytime soon…” “Ruby said something of getting some vamp help, but she never said anything about Spike and as for you no thanks, the last time I played with you, you turned my lover into ashes, well your blue-haired pet did anyway.” Theo snapped at the slayer, refusing to team up with her after their complicated history. “I get that you do not trust me, and I do not trust you but here’s the thing Dru’s a big player and she’s made an enemy of everyone not just you so, swallow your pride dude, and take the help I mean it’s better taking too much firepower to the vengeance party than winding up losing her…she’s survived this long for a reason kiddo.” Faith advised the slayer of slayers, trying to convince him to accept her help. “If B hears I’m not going you know she’s going to get herself involved, I mean it was hard enough telling her to sit this one out like it and I will not even get you started on Angel…” “Killing Drusilla…it does not mean I’m suddenly team slayer or anything, it just means, for now, she’s number one on my hitlist…” Theo explained to her. “I will not protect you; I will not save you, and I most certainly will not thank you.” “Well, that sure as hell seems like a yes to me.” Faith smirked, knowing Theo would rather chance to trust her, than giving Drusilla too much of an opportunity to escape his vengeance. Once Theo reluctantly agreed to work alongside Faith, and Ruby returned to Los Angeles with Spike in tow, the team consisting of a vampire slayer turned vampire, a rogue slayer turned good, a vampire with a soul, and a powerful witch began planning to strike Drusilla where she’s least expected to be attacked, at the one place she called home…
Faith, Theo, Ruby, and Spike found themselves deep within the woods, the same woods that Spike had once visited many years ago, and the same woods Theo and Ruby knew all too well thanks to their time with Drusilla, and before long the group of rogues had found themselves standing outside of the abandoned insane asylum, boarded up with planks of wood that themselves had been broken, with smashed windows, and a general sense of abandonment, abandoned in the middle of nowhere, the road to it long gone, hidden in shame of its own secrets A truly horrifying, and haunted place filled with misery from its past, and the perfect home for an insane vampire-like Drusilla. “I get you’re on mission vengeance and everything here Theo but what are the chances you are going to turn us all and lead us into some kind of slaughter?” Faith asked Theo, as the four remained hidden within the trees, beginning to question Theo’s loyalty towards this team of rogues. “The only person I hate more than you and the blue haired bitch is Drusilla so as long as she is alive you are safe but the minute, she’s dead we’re back to being enemies,” Theo answered honestly, making it clear he had no intention of seeking redemption. “He looks like Angel speaks like Angelus and smells like Buffy,” Spike stated, referring to Theo’s similarities with his biological parents. “Got to say it’s as hot as it is annoying!” “Listen up do not let your past get in the way of dusting Drusilla once and for all or else you’ll be joining your ex in the afterlife!” Theo quickly threatened Spike, proving he distrusted them as much as they distrusted him. “You were her minion just days ago I was her equal, if we have to worry about anyone getting second thoughts then it's you, not me!” Spike responded, making it clear he was down to do what needed to be done. “She killed my parents, there’s no going back for me even if it kills me, you better know it's going to kill her too!” Theo declared defiantly as he prepared for the fight of his undead life.
Instead of just charging into the abandoned asylum, Theo decided to get his poker face on, going in first and playing nice with his former mentor Drusilla, as he got a layout of where her minions had placed themselves, knowing the vampire was always ready for an attack, ready to strike before anyone else, as her asylum had become her armed kingdom. Despite the disgust over having to pretend not to entirely loathe the woman that had killed the parents who had raised him since birth, Theo knew it would be worth the cost once he ended the night plunging a wooden stake into Drusilla’s chest if he could convince her that he was still an ally of hers, the problem, of course, being Drusilla was always one step ahead. “My first family was taken by Angelus before he decided to take me too…” Drusilla told Theo as they walked down one of the many hallways found within the abandoned asylum that Drusilla used as her headquarters. “But then I found a new one with him and Darla, then my Spike but your mother took that all from me which is why I found it so fitting that I was the one to take you from her…but you were never really mine were you?” “What are you talking about? I believed your every word, did every demand and loved you like a son, I have been loyal to you since the first time I met you and I continue to be.” Theo argued with her, fearing she already knew of his intentions to kill her. “I took you into my home and loved you like a son, I even loved you when you took Tobias from me because I knew that was the way things had to be but now you’re too far gone for me to save…” Drusilla said with a great sense of sadness as the two stopped walking, and Theo noticed vampires appearing from both ends of the hallway, as he realized she was the one ambushing him. “The only thing I can do for you now is killing you and hope you are reunited with Tobias in whatever hellish dimension you are sent to.” “You really do see everything coming, don’t you?” Theo asked as he pulled out a wooden stake from his jacket pocket. “You killed my parents, pretended to save me, and had me fooled to think you as my savior all this time! I trusted you…I fought for you…I loved you!” “Everything I did I did to make you who you are today, the slayer of slayers, the world’s first self-sired vampire and you repay me with siding with the very same people who abandoned you without a second thought,” Drusilla replied, as she pulled out a wooden stake of her own from out of the side of her dress, as her minions cautiously walked closer to them both, ready to help their master if Theo got the upper hand. “I don’t give a shit about them! I gave a shit about my parents, the ones who raised me, who loved me, and you took them from me!” Theo shouted at her furiously. “My whole life has been one big lie and you’re the one telling the twisted tale.” “I loved you as much as someone like me could ever love anybody…you were more my son than perhaps even Tobias, I had such high hopes for you and now you’re letting something as mortal as dead humans affect your emotions making you dumb, dumb, dumb,” Drusilla responded before going on to reveal. “My vision had two endings you know…one where you were her ending and another where she was yours, I guess we both know now what ending you have chosen.” Suddenly, the two vampires who had once considered themselves to be like mother and son were now ready to fight to the death against each other, both feeling equal as betrayed as the other, Theo having perfectly reasonable reasons to feel betrayed by her, and Drusilla in her mind only having reasons of her own.
Meanwhile, just outside of the abandoned insane asylum, where Drusilla and Theo were beginning to battle each other, Faith, Spike, and Ruby remained to hide behind the same trees where Theo had left the three of them as they awaited a signal from the vampire slayer/vampire hybrid to know when to come into the fight, not realizing that Drusilla already had the upper hand on them all. “I know he’s Buffy’s kid, Angel’s too, but at what point do we just bail on this and let the two vamps fight it out between themselves?” Spike asked the vampire slayer, and witch, who he was stood next to. “I mean this guy is just as evil as everything else we tend to kill so why don’t we leave it to Drusilla to kill him instead of one of us killing the kid?” “I am not going anywhere!” Ruby said defiantly, refusing to give up on her former best friend. “I have known Theo my whole life, you two only know the evil side to him but I’ve seen the best and worst of him and I was there when he lost everything…despite that there’s still good in him.” “Well, I do not bloody see it,” Spike replied to the brown-haired witch. “But I am not leaving you to die out here!” “I saw it…in the way he loved that vamp Toby or whatever, they loved each other as I’ve never seen anyone love each other, except maybe Buffy and Angel.” Faith confessed, once again standing up for the slayer of slayers, feeling now more than ever before that his redemption was drawing nearer. Suddenly, the sound of a window-smashing grabbed their attention, as they turned to see a vampire falling from the top floor window before hitting the ground with force, before getting back onto his feet and running back into the asylum via a side door, and although this was not the signal they agreed on, it was clear to Faith, Spike, and Ruby that Theo was in trouble and now was the time to act.
Theo’s fight against Drusilla was unfair in every way as each time he gained the upper hand against his former undead mentor, her vampire army would attack him, and before long he was down on the floor, bloody, bruised, and beaten, while being pinned down by several vampires as Drusilla stood above him, ready to plunge the wooden stake she held into his chest and end him once and for all. “You have been such a naughty boy Theodore,” Drusilla stated with a look of struggle in her eyes as she kneeled over Theo’s body, clearly finding great difficulty with the fact she was about to kill someone she once loved like a son. “All I ever wanted was to be your mother…but she gets her claws into everyone I love.” “Get it over with already!” Theo shouted at her, ready to admit his defeat, accept his fate, and let his miserable life come to an end. And Drusilla did just what she was told, as tears formed in her eyes, she plunged the stake into Theo’s death while letting out a frantic scream at the same time, before falling backward and beginning to sob manically for a moment, only to be left just as stunned as Theo himself as he did not turn to dust, but instead, pulled the stake out of his chest, and rose back onto his feet. Before Theo or Drusilla could even usher a single word to display their joined shock at the fact that Theo was somehow still alive, the surrounding vampires, very recently loyal to Drusilla, began to kneel for Theo, displaying the change in loyalty, now towards the slayer of slayers, as Drusilla quickly rose to her feet and made her way out of the exit located nearest to her, as a shocked Theo continued to look at the vampires kneeling before him, still in shock, as the stake he was holding, which was just plunged into his chest, fell to the ground. “You are our new master now!” One of the vampires declared as Theo continued to just stand there in shock. “A vampire that cannot die, the true immortal, the true heir to the undead kingdom!” Another declared, followed by cheers from fellow vampires, just as Faith, Spike, and Ruby rushed into the hallway from the exit farthest away from them all, only to stop in their tracks by the shocking sight in front of them. “Theo…” Ruby shouted towards her former friend, having no idea what all this meant, or what would follow, as the slayer of slayers was declared king among the vampires…

S3. Ep17. Enemies Season 3 has mastered the ability to create running themes that tie into all episodes of the season, regardless of whether an episode directly deals with the main plot. While ‘Doppelgangland’ focused mainly on Willow, it also managed to completely set up ‘Enemies’ with its discussion of the overlap between humans and vampires. The show is steadily creating a more complex view of vampires and demons in general, even giving us Skylar, a demon who lives like a human and who Buffy deems to be harmless enough not to kill. ‘Enemies’ writer Douglas Petrie explores this concept a little further by comparing Angel’s role in this episode to the TV show, ‘Wiseguy,’ which starred an undercover agent who infiltrated the mob. One of the issues that show raised was the extent to which playing such a role leads one to become the part. Yet as always, there is more than one thing going on, and the writers continue to use the different dynamics of each character and their relationships to inform us of what’s going on inside of Buffy. Since ‘Bad Girls,’ Buffy has wrestled with the idea that she and Faith are the same and seeing Angel with Faith makes her wonder if that darkness is what attracts Angel to her in the first place. Mark Fields says it best: “As I see it, the role she asked Angel to play called into question just what it was about Buffy that Angel found attractive. This would concern Buffy because she doesn’t want it to be her dark side. She wants to be loved for her good qualities, not her dangerous ones.” As with the concept of a good vampire or demon, Buffy’s world is becoming increasingly more complex as she continues to wrestle with the question: what exactly does separate her from Faith? #enemies #buffymeta #analysis #buffy #buffythevampireslayer #bangel #sarahmichellegellar #davidboreanaz #season3 #podcastersofinstagram #podcast #becomingbuffypodcast #angeltheseries #vampire #btvs https://www.instagram.com/p/CcQdzEGL5oB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Drusilla’s Soul- Ch. 26
Shiokaze Park 5:30 PM
The sun started to set, the sky was painted with vibrant red and a yellow hue. The park was lit up in a rainbow of colours. It seemed as if every colour could be represented within the park. The playground had already emptied out, leaving only small children and some teenagers. Some teens were still in the park, walking around, or sitting on benches.
Now Nancy leaning on the gate, staring at the ocean, glistening beautifully under the setting sun. She sighed deeply, looking down at her feet. She became depressed when her two sons died last night. She couldn’t forgive Angelus for what he did.
“Nancy, so there you are,” Nancy turned to see her ex-husband, Malcolm, walking towards her.
“Why haven't you gone home yet?” He asked while putting his hands in his pockets.
“I can’t go back home yet,” she looked away from Malcolm again. “I’m just here for a little while.”
He sighed and stood beside her, leaning on the gate. They both stared at the ocean, admiring its beauty. They stay in silence for several minutes. They don’t speak much but it felt nice. No one needed to talk. Malcolm broke the silence.
“How do you feel now? I mean about our boys?” he asked.
“It hurts. Everything hurts and they're dead, they never existed because they never got their life together, not like me who had everything going great.” She said quietly.
Malcolm put an arm over Nancy's shoulder, trying to comfort her.
“You know why we didn't get married? Because we love each other too much. We always knew that someday we would come across someone who would take all of us away from each other, so when that day came we decided to leave.”
Nancy looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes. “I miss them, I'm going to miss them everyday.” She said softly.
“Don’t think about them too much, Nancy. All we have left is each other, that doesn’t change no matter what happens. I love you, Nancy, you are the best thing that happened to me. And Angelus, he will pay for what he has done and I will make sure that he won’t hurt anyone ever again. Just wait and see.” said Malcolm.
“Are you sure, Malcolm?” she asked as she wiped her tears. “Do we know who killed them?” She asked.
“That I cannot say. But I am sure you won’t want to hear any more than I told you. I promise you that once this case is solved, Angelus will suffer for what he did.” he reassured her.
He slammed his fist in anger. “Dammit! I should have gone with Matt, this wouldn’t have happened! I’ll find this bastard Angelus who killed our sons!” he yelled as he calmed himself down.
“Sorry I lost my temper.” Malcolm apologized.
“It’s okay. Thank you for being here. You know how I hate being alone.” She smiled at him.
She then hugged Malcolm tightly and Malcolm responded by hugging her tighter as well. Neither knew how long they stood there but after a few minutes, they finally let go.
“Come on, let’s get home before it gets dark.” Malcolm suggested.
Nancy nodded her head and they headed back to his car. After getting into his car, Malcolm began driving to their house, leaving Nancy thinking about her lost sons. She missed them dearly.
Meanwhile
Drusilla was in the dungeon, sitting down against the wall, her knees close to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs. She was staring blankly ahead at nothing, as if there were something she was trying to see on the other side of a wall or the floor in front of her, like a painting or an actor’s reflection. But her eyes weren't focused on any one object in particular. She was wearing a white, long gown that covered almost every inch of her body, her feet bare and dirty from walking around the dungeon.
She heard the cell door open with a creaking noise, but she didn't move, still not really paying attention to anything, until she felt someone stood in front of her. She looked up to see Darla and her two minions standing in front of her cell, smiling wickedly.
“Hello, Drusilla. It seems we’re going to be doing some experimenting today,” said Darla, grinning widely. “I believe you will enjoy it very much. I am sure you have been deprived for so long.”
“Experiment? What are you talking about?” asked Drusilla, frowning and narrowed her eyes at Darla.
Darla chuckled, “Well, my dear Drusilla, I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough.” Darla placed her hand under Drusilla’s chin. “Mr. Trick is going to extract that soul of yours, and you will no longer feel yourself. You’ll reunite with us.”
Drusilla glared at Darla, “You can’t do this! I’m not going to become an insane vampire like I used to! And I don’t want to reunite with you!”
“You will, Drusilla. Because I say you shall,” assured Darla, tightening her grip on Drusilla’s jaw. She squeezed hard enough to make Drusilla wince. “And once you do that, then you shall be ours again. We shall take great joy in your madness… and in being in control once more.”
With that, she released her grip on Drusilla’s chin. Drusilla rubbed the sore spot on her face where Darla had gripped it so tightly, glaring at her.
“Take her to the lab,” she ordered her minions, stepping aside as they approached Drusilla. They grabbed her by the arms, pulled her off the ground, and dragged her to her feet. She struggled, yanking her arms free of their grasp and kicking them in the shin, but they didn’t react, just dragged her along anyway.
As they walked down the hallway, passing countless doors, several of them opened and a few people peered curiously out at Drusilla, watching her pass through without making eye contact. Some smiled, others frowned. She saw none of them smile; it was the same thing she saw every day, after all.
Darla pressed the code into a keypad next to each door in the hall, and the door swung open automatically. They went inside the room, and closed the door behind her, locking it.
The room was quite large, made entirely of glass, which allowed them to observe everything in the room. There was a table with various tools spread across its surface.
There was a giant satellite electric plasma in the designed shape of a space laser gun. There was a metal table with straps laid over it that contained dozens of vials filled with glowing liquid. The liquid inside all appeared to be blue.
A rack on the far side held all types of instruments, including scalpels, needles, and even a scalpel that seemed like it could cut straight through stone. There were also many syringes.
A door opened automatically from another room, and an African-American man who wore a blue suit and a black tie came through, holding a clipboard, followed by Angelus came to the lab with three scientists. They were dressed in lab coats.
The man clasped his hands together, he grinned widely when he saw Drusilla.
“Hello, Drusilla,” greeted Mr. Trick. “Welcome back to our world. I suppose you spent time with the humans, yes? Such a naughty girl you are.”
Drusilla scowled at Mr. Trick. He began to study her carefully, but she remained still despite the intense examination. He backed away from her and turned towards Angelus and the scientists.
“I trust Drusilla has recovered fully,” he remarked.
“Yes, sir,” replied Mr. Angelus respectfully. “We performed a thorough examination, but I must warn you. Her soul needs to be removed.”
Mr. Trick nodded and smiled, “Then let’s get started, shall we?” He turned to his minions. “Place her on the table,” he commanded.
The vampires placed Drusilla on the table, strapping her ankles and wrists, and head restraints down firmly. She couldn’t move her body. Mr. Trick walked to the side of her table and cruelly smiled at her.
“It will only hurt a little bit,” he assured Drusilla. “I promise you that.”
Drusilla clenched her jaw tight. She stared back at him defiantly.
He laughed softly. “Oh, I’d like to see you try to resist. This will probably end up killing you. Or worse, maybe not kill you –“ he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly “–but it will certainly leave you incapacitated.”
With those words spoken, Mr. Trick turned on the plasma machine and began the operation. As he did, Drusilla watched him carefully, analyzing his movements in case of a sudden movement. But all seemed fine. She wasn’t sure what he was planning – she never knew – but whatever it was, she was confident she would be able to handle it.
The table raised up angle slightly, lifting her higher on the table as it moved. She could see the satellite of the ray gun aimed right at her chest. Just then, she felt herself beginning to panic. Mr. Trick turned on the knob from the machine, the plasma ball began to glow blue, whirring up to full power. Now he pressed the button, the blue beam straight through her body, she screamed in agony, tears welling in her eyes.
Her body suddenly jerked violently to the left, then to the right.
Mr. Trick grinned evilly. “I love seeing you suffer,” he taunted. “Still enduring pain, I see.”
Drusilla kept screaming, her body jerking wildly against the straps attached to the table. Her visions started to blur, her thoughts became fuzzy, and it felt like she was falling apart. All she could see was Mr. Trick’s evil grin and his cruel laugh.
Finally, her soul came out of body completely, absorbed into the red orb in the center of the laser. She fell unconscious on the table and he turned off the machine, smiling maliciously as he did.
“Well done, Mr. Trick,” said Mr. Angelus happily after he finished admiring Drusilla’s tortured features and lifeless eyes. “You’ve certainly got a talent for torture. I never know when I’m going to come across some new material for my collection.”
“Thank you, Angelus,” said Mr. Trick with a wide smile on his face.
Angelus ordered his minions to release Drusilla from the table. They unstrapped Drusilla from the metal table and gently lowered her onto the floor. Drusilla lay there, moaning quietly. She stood up shakily, feeling weak, dizzy, and confused. She took a step forward but staggered, catching herself against the wall to keep upright. She opened her eyes, staring dazedly around the room, trying to remember how she’d gotten here. Then she looked at Angelus, who stood a few feet away from her with his arms crossed and his smirk plastered on his face.
“Daddy?” asked Drusilla in a hoarse whisper.
“Yes, baby. It’s me. Come closer, Drusilla,” smiled Angelus. Drusilla stumbled towards Angelus, stumbling on her way towards him as if she were walking on water. He cupped her cheek with one hand, tilting her head upwards, looking into her eyes.
“Drusilla, do you remember what I brought that gypsy girl?” Angelus inquired. “You were cursed by the Kalderash clan to have a soul. You can’t die until it is extracted from you. Do you understand what I am saying, Drusilla?”
“I remember now,” replied Drusilla, staring at her demon father, whose smile widened ever so slightly.
“Very good. Now your soul is gone, your body is no longer connected to your spirit. Your soul will disappear into nothingness.” Angelus said. “And soon you will return to us. I am happy you are finally home, my sweet, precious daughter.”
Drusilla hugged Angelus’ torso and rested her head on his chest. “I’ve missed you, Daddy.”
“I know, darling. And I have a surprise for you. You will see Matt and TK as vampires. Do you remember them?”
“Matt and TK?” repeated Drusilla, pulling back from Angelus, staring at him quizzically. “Who are they, daddy?”
“They are the ones who saved you, Drusilla!” exclaimed Angelus happily, his eyes gleaming. “They are your new family. And they will love you very much and protect you! Isn’t that wonderful, Drusilla?”
Drusilla grinned, clasped her hands gleefully together, “Really, daddy, really?!”
“Yes, darling!” Angelus laughed darkly. “We’re going to the cemetery tonight, and they will join us and we’re going to destroy the world. Wouldn’t you like that, Drusilla?”
Drusilla nodded vigorously and clapped her hands together again, jumping up and down and giggling happily. She had been missing her father so much during the past years, she hadn't realised just how much she had missed being with her real parents.
“Yes, Daddy! We’re going to destroy the world!” yelled Drusilla, grinning from ear to ear insanely.
Darla rolled her eyes as she gazed at Drusilla from where she stood beside Angelus, watching Drusilla hug her father.
“Well, I hate to interrupt this adorable moment, but we need to go prepare for tonight,” she said. “Are you ready, Drusilla? You’ll be joining us, won’t you?”
Drusilla turned her attention from Angelus to Darla.
“Yes, Grandmum,” she nodded enthusiastically. “We're leaving now! I want to meet them now, please, please can we please leave now?! I miss them already!!!”
Angelus laughed, “Alright, now. Everything will be explained to you in a second. Now go get dressed.” He waved his hand at Drusilla’s outfit. "And make sure you put on some makeup, too."
"Okay!" exclaimed Drusilla excitedly. She dashed out of the room, closing the door behind her with enthusiasm.
“My minions, go to the cemetery and bring two boys in here. We want to make sure they’re ready.” instructed Angelus.
“Yes, boss,” they responded in unison, turning to the door and exiting the lab, shutting it securely behind them.
Graveyard - 10:30 PM
TK stirred his eyes open. He was in the darkness, and couldn't see anything. He could feel something solid inside, he was in the coffin. He pressed his hands through the coffin lid and found it didn’t budge. He began tearing the coffin lid's fabric, trying to crawl his way out. He fisted through the lid when the soil spilled from underneath him. He crawled his way out of his grave. TK stood up, he looked at himself. His clothes were filthy, covered in dirt. His skin was covered in dirt, as well. He looked where he was, he was at the graveyard. The moon shined brightly down on him.
"You've risen from your grave," TK heard a voice come from behind him. He turned around. There were five vampires appearing before him. TK backed away from them, and one of them walked toward him, Luke, smiling at him.
"Do not be afraid. My name is Luke. You are now one of us, and so is your brother," said Luke.
"My brother... Where is he?" he asked.
A hand popped out of his grave, he climbed out from the earth, his blue tuxedo was covered in dirt and soil. His blonde hair was filthy, as well. He opened his blue eyes and looked around where he was.
"Matt?" he heard his brother's voice where he once stood. He turned his head to see his brother
standing there. He was covered in dust and dirt.
"TK?" asked Matt.
TK walked toward Matt with a small smile, reaching up, and cupping his brother's face. He was so cold, yet so alive. Luke cleared his throat, causing Matt and TK to pull their hands away from each other.
"I hate to interrupt your brotherly reunion, but you will meet Angelus once again. You two now are vampires, and you have been granted the gift of the immortality we all possess," said Luke.
They both looked confused. "Immortality?" they asked.
"Yes, Immortality. Your powers are not like those of our kind. You are now immortal, but only for a short time."
"Then why did we just die?" asked Matt.
Luke smiled. "The reason Angelus and Darla sired you and you will work with us."
TK looked at Matt and used psychic communication with him, telling him not to join them.
"Matt, we don't want to do that. He's up to something. We have to save Drusilla. Just pretend we'll join them," said TK.
Matt nodded. "Alright, we'll join you."
TK asked, "So what's the plan?"
Luke grinned, "Our mission is to destroy the world. Our targets are the humans, and you'll get to kill them. You will be immortal, and able to drink their blood whenever and wherever. I'm certain Angelus will be pleased with your actions once he finds out."
They were silent and thought about everything they would need to bring this apocalypse. Angelus would take over the world, he wanted the human race eradicated. Luke knew that if the human race was exterminated then no vampire would be safe, and so many more would fall prey to their wickedness.
TK grabbed Matt's arm. "We can do it. No matter what, we're in this together."
Luke chuckled, "Excellent. Let's get in the van," he said. TK and Matt followed him back to the van, and into the back where the others were waiting for them. TK nodded at Matt, "Let's do this," he whispered.
"Hey, Luke? There's something I want to say," TK said, breaking the silence.
Luke turned back to look at TK. "What is it?" he asked.
TK grinned as he walked toward him. Luke was taken aback as TK stopped right in front of him, putting his hands on Luke's chest. He stared up at Luke with a grin, Luke could barely breathe.
"I really don't wanna work with you anymore," said TK, smiling. He punched Luke in the face, stumbling backward and landing flat on his butt. Luke rubbed his cheek and glared up at TK, "You little bastard!" he growled.
Luke ordered his minions to attack Matt and TK. The vampires charged at them while Matt and TK prepared themselves. TK blocked every blow he received from the vampires. He kicked at an unsuspecting one when one hit him square in the jaw. Matt punched another vampire in the stomach, sending him flying across the cemetery, and knocking him off his feet. As more vampires attacked Matt and TK, they started fighting back, kicking, or scratching at any vampire that got close enough. TK kicked the one in the gut, making him double over and land on his butt.
The bald vampire raised his fist to strike Matt, but he dodged out of the way, grabbed his fist, twisted it behind him, and grabbed his head. Matt's face morphed into a vampiric visage, his eyebrows disappeared and his ridge became visible. His eyes were blazing yellow with catlike pupils, and his mouth stretched out in a snarl, showing his sharp teeth. He bit the vampire's neck and he screamed in pain as his throat was torn apart. TK laughed as he watched his brother bite other vampires.
"A vampire bites other vampires," said TK.
After Matt was done devouring his victim, he pulled his mouth away and looked back at the rest of the vampires. They all stood frozen with fear as they stared at TK and Matt.
"I don't understand! Which sides are you on?!" yelled Luke.
"Oh, it doesn't matter what side you're on," TK said. "We're Digidestined, the chosen ones. And we have a long journey ahead of us to make sure nothing happens to our loved ones. You'll be dead by the end of the night."
As he finished his sentence, he grabbed a tree stake from the ground and stabbed a vampire straight through the heart. He dropped to the ground and exploded into dust.
"Traitors! Get them!" yelled Luke. A few more vampires came running from the shadows and attacked Matt and TK. Matt quickly killed three of them with his claws, while TK was staking them to their hearts, causing them into dust. Now all the vampires were dead except Luke was the only one left.
TK walked toward Luke, laying on the ground, crawling away from him. TK glared at him deathly. He pointed the stake toward Luke.
"Now... you're going to tell me where Drusilla is. Or else...." TK trailed off. He lowered the stake, pointing it directly toward Luke's chest. "I'll stake you."
"Why do you want to know where Drusilla is?" Luke asked. "Why would we tell you?"
"Because I'm the one that will give her a happy life, one filled with love and happiness," TK replied, looking straight at him. "And you won't tell me where she is."
"Okay, I'll tell you. Drusilla is in the lab, Mr. Trick removed her soul and she's back to her old self again," answered Luke.
"Her soul? Does that mean...?" TK trailed off.
"Yes, her sanity went to insanity. Drusilla came back to Angelus and worked with them. They have a great plan, which we will try and implement after we eradicate humanity from this world forever," laughed Luke.
TK's eyes became furious, he grabbed his collar and lifted him up in the air. He threw him against a tombstone, shattering it into pieces. The vampire lay on the ground, still alive, groaning in pain. TK grabbed his collar once again, leaned closer to him, glaring down at him.
“You know, you might want to watch where you speak. Because I know how to get her soul back. Izzy and I studied the ritual, and I’m the only one who knows how it works,” said TK.
Luke’s breath haggard. TK’s morphed into a vampiric feature, his eyes were yellow with catlike pupils, fang lengthened from his mouth, and his fingernails were sharpened and dug Luke’s neck, making him bleed a little.
TK bit Luke’s neck and sucked on it for a while, enjoying the taste. When he pulled away, Luke fell to the ground, crumbled into dust.
TK turned to Matt. “That took care of that vampire.”
Matt nodded. “Well then, let’s go save Drusilla.”
“Wait, Matt, we have to stay in motel tonight. We can’t go out during the night without getting caught,” said TK.
Matt furrowed his eyebrows. “You’re kidding! Why?”
“Because people think we’re dead. Plus, the last thing Angelus wants is anyone knowing about this. It is best if we go out and find Drusilla ourselves,” said TK.
“You’re right. Let’s go to the motel then,” agreed Matt.
Matt picked up the keys from the deceased vampire, they walked to the van parked next to the gravesite. They got in, and drove off, leaving the graveyard.

"While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon." - Sarah Michelle Gellar I came out as bisexual when I was 15 because of Willow and Tara, these shows have saved my life and I have countless happy memories because of them! I want to say that so I can really make the point of how disgusted I am by Joss’ monstrous actions!! I stand with and fully support all the cast and crew who have come out with their stories!
