Taking Uncle Ben out of narrative and trying to fill his place with Tony Stark and Aunt May -even though she has her OWN role in the narrative already - is like taking Bruce Wayne's parents out of narrative and trying to fill the void with Amanda Waller and Alfred - even if he has his OWN role already. Batman being goverment's pet project and not product of Bruce's grief VS Spiderman being a rich person's investment in the name of their own self-interest and not product of Peter's grief.

I know a lot of pple on this site hate MCU stans, and that's understandable. Me personally? I don't think all MCU stans deserve the hate, I personally enjoy vibing in the corner of the MCU fandom that's dedicated to Black Panther, Eternals, and the characters of color in general. The MCU!Iron Man, MCU!Spiderman, MCU!Dr Strange, MCU!Scarlet Witch, MCU!Loki and MCU!GOTG stans do deserve the hate tho, yall the worst.

My favourite MCU character is loki. I would say Peter, but MCU Peter isn't really my favourite- still like him tho- and other than that there's Tony stark but I'm kinda over my iron man obsession, sooooo. Loki. Forever my obsession. (Not the Ragnarok or Loki show version of the character because ehhhh, let's not)

My favourite movie has got to be the first avengers movie. It's the movie that got me into the franchise and the one of the only mcu movies that I can revisit without hating any part of the movie. Other than that the black panther movies are a huge favourite, and the Spiderman movies are my brother's favourite, so probably those.

Show. Hmmm. I don't really have a favourite, I feel pretty lukewarm about nearly all of them.

It's funny because I read MCU fics a lot and generally consume a lot of MCU fancontent, but it's been a while since I've watched any of their movies and idk what the new movies shows are. What about you?? Who is your favourite character/movie/show??

I just recently rewatched NWH and I couldn't help but think Raimi Venom would have fit better than Sandman. Flint made his peace with Peter and didn't die fighting him. Eddie on the other hand...

The mcu has done more damage to Spider-Man’s reputation than Sony has. At least Sony never made him into a sidekick and made his own movies about some other guy.

Also, I’m pretty sure iron heart is the only one here who continues iron man’s legacy in the comics. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Me watching the raimi movies, this is relatable and I hope Peter makes it out of this. Me watching MCU spiderman movies, I agree with the villains, fuck them kids.

most spiderman villains (raimi, itsv, webb) are either greedy capitalists/corporations (kingpin & norman osborn) or victims of scientific research done by greedy capitalists/corporations. as peter is usually a struggling lower class worker, he fights for the little guy & oscorp is viewed as the main evil. while we are always rooting for peter to save the city and stop the villain, we can still feel bad for them bc if peter sees the greedy capitalists as the problem, so do we

in the mcu spiderman, peter parker is figuratively in bed with the greedy capitalist. (before anyone says “oh peter parker is best friends with harry osborn usually tho” yes….. but norman is an emotionally abusive father who harry hates, and always framed as bad. not to mention peter refuses to accept any money from them.) the vulture is a villain bc the greedy capitalist took away all the jobs w a massive corporation & completely ignored the smaller business he ruined. mysterio had intellectual property stolen from him by the greedy capitalist.

everyone always makes fun of the fact that all these villains have beef with tony stark and he doesn’t know who they are. that’s the point !!!! corporations and rich people don’t care about the little guys! spiderman does!!!! but the mcu films completely miss the mark because tony / stark industries / corporate greed is never explicitly framed as the villain. peter is on tony’s side, not “ours”

Okay, I know I said I wasn't gonna post weekly on Ms. Marvel episodes, but I did say I'd post every now and then. So, I gotta say this which is really bugging the hell out of me.

In episode two, Kamala is getting chased by Damage Control or DODC and they're using drones. Not just any drones, but it looks like the drones from EDITH! If this is true, then DODC not only confiscated this tech from Peter back in No Way Home, but they're also using it.....okay, I don't know if that's allowed, but if it is, then this should prove yet again that EDITH shouldn't have been a thing.

I hated that it existed. The writers for Far From Home had to make up some excuse as to why Mysterio was targeting Peter, and had to connect yet another Spider-Man villain to Tony Stark. Plus, I hate the fact that Tony still hasn't learned from Ultron apparently, and decided to make an AI armed with satellite drones and hacking abilities to invade people's privacies, and entrust that tech TO A TEENAGER! I don't know what Tony was thinking when he made EDITH, nor why he thought it was a good idea to give this to Peter, but he ain't gonna suffer any consequences over it, cause HE'S DEAD!

Because of EDITH, Peter got targeted and used by Mysterio, nearly got killed, framed for murder, got arrested by DODC, his identity exposed, and he and his loved ones get harassed by the public for things they didn't do and/or being connected to Peter. They're the ones that suffer, while the ex-Stark Industries employees get away with it, and even Talos and his wife posing as Nick and Maria get away with what they did. Does SI suffer consequences? WE DON'T KNOW!!! And now that DODC has the drones, they're using it to capture Kamala. Sure they don't know that she's a minor, but it won't matter. They were fine with arresting Peter, who was ALSO a minor, what makes you think they'll let Kamala slide?

If EDITH never existed, things could've gone so much better for these characters in the MCU.

Also, why is Damage Control suddenly an agency where they arrest enhanced and confiscate things?! When was that a thing? During the five year timeskip or after? Are they the new SHIELD now? Cause I thought we had SWORD.

I'm so happy to have found your blog because I also hate mcu spiderman trilogy but just couldn't find like-minded people on this site for a long time.

There are rumors that they'll be doing another trilogy with holland. (what with so many mcu projects getting backlash, they're definitely not gonna let go of this cash cow.)

If it’s any small comfort, the writers strike means we probably won’t see Iron Boy show up again for quite some time. Looks like we’ll have to make do with Spider-Verse, Venom, and the Insomniac games. Ah well. I’m sure we’ll survive 😈🥳😂
