sakusa kiyoomi may be 192cm tall but he is most definitely a little shit.
putting away your favourite mugs on the highest cupboard so you have to ask him to get it down for you is a given — he loves subtly watching as you struggle on the tips of your toes, pretending like he's not fully aware of what you need, until you begrudgingly approach him and ask for help. he always helps of course, but sometimes when he's feeling particularly cheeky he keeps handing you the wrong mug to rile you up even more, despite knowing exactly which one you want.
when you watch romance dramas, you can't help but swoon at the lovely domestic scenes. more specifically, when one of them is cooking or doing the dishes and the other would gently place their hands on their partner's waist to move them aside so they can pass through. with the amount of times you've squealed at those scenes during your movie nights, you'd think kiyoomi would take the hint by now. yeah, right. kiyoomi — who would never fail to sneak up behind you while you're busy in the kitchen with your back turned to him and jab a finger into your side, taking his opportunity to slip past as you squirm and jerk away. he doesn't even spare you another look when you protest and scold him, but he has an amused smirk as he goes about the kitchen. maybe you can give up on the cheesy rom-com tropes.
kiyoomi always wakes up at an ungodly 5 a.m. to go on his morning runs. he offered for you to join him once and straight up left you behind with no remorse. like,, have some compassion, omi, some of us aren't professional athletes who's used to doing this every day. suffice to say, that was the first and last time you joined kiyoomi on his morning run. 90% of the time, when he's done his laps and finishes showering, you're still fast asleep in bed, all cuddled up under the blankets. kiyoomi's heart melts when he sees that even in your sleep, you somehow manage to wriggle all the way to his side of the bed.
however, he decides he likes it even more if you're awake to have breakfast with him and give him a kiss goodbye before he leaves for work. so it's not uncommon for you to wake up due to your natural walking alarm — a brat by the name of sakusa kiyoomi violently shaking you awake while muttering something about your favourite breakfast on the table. if that doesn't work, kiyoomi will not hesitate turn down the thermostat to freezing temperatures and snatch your blankets, basically forcing you awake.
of course, you've tried many times to get back at him. one time you got your hands nice and cold and pressed it smack against his stomach. you could feel his muscles tense under your palms as he jumped and sucked in a breath through his teeth at the icy intrusion. he didn't say anything, but he shot you a nasty evil glare that says "i'm going to get back at you and it'll be ten times worse and you'll never see it coming." to your knowledge, he hasn't done anything yet and to this day, you live in tremendous fear and suspense.
Tumblr media
*drum rolls* it's (once again) sakusa kiyoomi!! congrats to @niverine for guessing right you get a big hug from me

M, since it’s the 10th anniversary of Peaky, I’d love to know what you think are the 10 best perks of being Mrs. Shelby.
Oh dear!! 😳 Lee @zablife 💕 you got me good with this one. I love you for sending this one in you had me squealing 🤭 this gif makes my heart burst
I had so much fun writing this I was blushing the entire time.
Best perks of being Mrs. Shelby are:
10. Being the only person that can put out his demons which helps him relax.
9. Riding horses with him and spending most of their times in the stables.
8. Waiting for him to come home and jumping into his arms straight away (I always find this part my most fav of the day and I look forward to it is very dear to me) cause lets be real he'd only be coming home just for her.
7. Lounging around his study while he works, sat infront of the fireplace flipping through fashion catalouges & magazines.
6. Having the best lovemaking sessions 🔞 (oh they are just so good they always start in his study a bit of teasing or whenver tommy feels extra needy slightly raising her dress and it is indeed a very delighful sight!)
5. Her watching his face light up everytime with heart eyes & that special smile of his just for Mrs. Shelby (I melt everytime)
4. Being startled with long - loving neck kisses & backhugs out of nowhere.
3. Being very much ✨️ SPOILED ✨️ getting gifts all the time with tons of new jewellery - her favourite diamonds, imported silky nightgowns, dresses, lingerie, fancy furs cause he's obsessed with Mrs. Shelby looking like a real queen. (BASICALLY THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE AT HER FEET!!!)
2. The pleasure of having all the love and seeing the softest Tommy Shelby ever, being extremely loved and very taken care of even though he doesn't have that much time on his hands but for Mrs. Shelby he has all the time in the world.
1. Being Mrs. Shelby 🤭 basically the title is very heavy and it speaks for itself.
+ a bonus I might add cause I think about these two all the time!!
✨️ Having to carry around a spare pack of cigarettes and a lighter in your purse at all times just in case cause you'll never know when he'll get grumpy so as Mrs. Shelby be ready for anything.
✨️ Having him call for her just to fix the tie-knot and the lapels of his suit jacket along with his beloved pocket watch cause he just loves to hear her and her jewellery covered hands making sounds around him which relaxes him & awakens something in him. (an image he wants to burn in his brain forever)
(these are my top 10 but the list goes on forever) 🥰

Real question tho. Was there ever an episode where the moment Alya was in anyway involved in the hero plot as hero herself Marinette DIDN'T treat her inherently more like a genuine partner and MUCH better than she treated/ treats Chat Noir?
The only episode i can remember where this doesn't happen is in "Mayura". But every other time?
S4 needs barely any explaining, Alya and Adrien were at the complete opposite extremes of partnership treatment from Marinette. Alya got the partnership deluxe on easy mode basically handed to her and Chat had to tank all the downsides, she got every promotion possible bc she is Marinette's civilian best friend while Chat was most of the time more of a "beloved" pet and scapegoat or punching bag than an actual partner which he had to learn to accept that he doesn't deserve any better under Ladybug's leadership. If Marinette even rememberd thinking about Chat at all.
Even s5 still keeps it consistent that Alya would be Marinette's actual partner now if only she still had her Miraculous. I don't think there has been a single time where Marinette has not explicitly chosen Alya/ Rena over Chat Noir in terms of actual partnership. "Revelation" even had Ladybug deceive Chat again, sending him out as bait, so she can get Alya involved as Scarabella so Marinette can try to trick Lila into admitting out loud that she's indeed a liar and Alya finally believes her. There was nothing noble about that. She was SURPRISED that Lila immediately deakumatized herself.
Great, and tahts what Marinette abandoned Chat Noir for on the battle field with only a hidden Scarabella who could have NOT helped him in any way if he had DARED to need help against Lila and the whole city after him.
I will never ever get over Marinette in Hack-San just not remembering Chat's existence at all besides telling Alya to try laughing at his jokes. Since day 1 Hawkmoth is after their Miraculous but apparently Marinette couldn't possibly imagine taht Chat suddenly seeing a new Ladybug holder out of nowhere is a bad thing.
But hey, SHE was taken care of, and apparently that's all that matters in her head. How wonderful that the episode basically said that if Adrien had given someone else his Miraculous before this without telling her, Marinette apparently wouldn't have feared for Chat's life at all. No concern spared for Chat Noir's survival, it's a miracle she remembered him at all, I guess?
This is not the Ladynoir I once signed up for.
Tumblr media
Seriously, Season 4 was literally about Marinette pretty much replacing Chat Noir with Alya, and the only reason he got to be her special partner again was because Gabe stole all the Miraculous, not because she realized that the partner she wanted and the one whom she wanted by her side was Chat Noir. And apparently she didn't bother to tell him anything in Season 5 either, considering she's still ready to go behind his back (though this isn't as egregious) and lie to him. Like, the Season 5 finale has her tell Alya the secret about Gabe and that he was Monarch, but not Chat Noir (I don't mean Adrien, I mean Chat Noir), her partner who has been by her side the whole time. Like, Alya gets all this special and secretive information, and Chat Noir gets nothing, even the information he is entitled to. She hasn't learnt a damn thing. And I know, it's the fault of the writers, but it's so deeply entrenched into her character at this point that I'm finding it difficult to make that distinction.
Thank you for your ask!

SO... I NEED SOME HELP.
Tumblr media
short version right at the top here: my family has been getting really bad about asking me for money, even though they all have jobs of their own. i've been openly planning to move out, and i think that's why they're doing it. if you can spare some money to donate/tip/commission, i would be most grateful.
link to donate: https://ko-fi.com/faepr1nce
longer version is as such.
i've been openly planning to move out for about half a year now. for half of that half a year, i've held a really steady job, going in every day for the past almost four months now with only two true sick day exceptions. for a person with the disabilities i have, this is actually exhausting, but i need to get the hell out of dodge as soon as possible.
this came onto my shoulders in a rush, and while, yes, the people i'm moving in with being unable to help for a little while with saving up is part of my stress, it's not the major point of it, nor a moderate part of it. (so, don't you dare blame yourselves, you both, because i know you can read this.) the point of the matter is, i'm being drained dry of all my resources, and even my scarce moments of buying something i truly need sometimes puts me in the red. (i only have two dnd related subscriptions and one basic discord sub, that doesn't bother me and i plan for it every month.)
i would have liked to get my license (60$ max) and at least a car before moving out, so i wouldn't rely on my parents anymore, but it cannot be helped, and it will be addressed when i can address it.
currently! i need help to save up just to get one of my roommates out of a potentially life threatening locale before summer gets into swing (the latest this can possibly be done is the second to MAYBE third week of june. absolutely no later than june 21st, and that's pushing it.) she needs to be out by june 21st, and a week before getting her up here, i need to have the new place to stay before that happens.
at minimum, i need to have 1200$ USD to safely get my first roommate in a place where she can stay safely and avoid the lethality of staying in texas (in her current situation). i currently have around 250$ out of that 1200$ so i'm not starting from scratch and i put away 100$ - 150$ every pay. i just won't have it for when i need it, nor in the timeframe that i'd need it to be collected. if i had more time (and texas didn't FUCKING SUCK), then i wouldn't be fretting so much.
but i truly do need the assistance, and i can even draw or make graphics or psds or anything you need for at minimum of 5$ donations. if... if you could spare anything, i would severely appreciate it. i'm not going to beg, but i will ask very very nicely if you can give anything i'd appreciate it.

https://www.tumblr.com/darkwitchgardener/746072202665967616/why-are-some-tumblr-writers-so-fucking-entitled
as a writer do you have an opinion on that? personally i think it’s rude but most people under that post seem to agree but i bet they never post anything
Okay, let's talk about this. I personally do think that this post is not only a weird take, but also rude and disrespectful. let me dissect every part of their nonsense and share my thoughts in this
why are some tumblr writers becoming so fucking entitled?💀 like why are basically forcing people to reblog your work?
Let's look at these tumblr writers, shall we?
Most of us here have real life outside of this site and outside of fanfics. Some of us are struggling to finish school, college, some are even on their way to achieve their PhD titles and yet they still spare their precious time to sit down and write fanfics for free between writing down their thesis and studying for exams. Some others have 9 to 5 jobs, or maybe freelance jobs that don't have a steady working hours (meaning they could have been working 36 hours nonstop without sleep, aka just like me), while also dealing with a spouse or children to take care of in between jobs and they are still writing fanfics for YOU to read for free (ps. when I say YOU here doesn't mean I'm talking to you, sweet anon. I'm directing this to the OG poster and whoever is agreeing with their take)
I feel like looking at this alone, if a writer wants to be entitled to have their work promoted through reblogs, to be circulated around by their readers, and to have any kind of feedback, then they are allowed to. After all that hard work put on a free content, the many hours we spent and the lack of sleep we all get to finish a fic, whether it's 100 words or 100k words, the least a reader could do is show a bit of support or any form of appreciation
(I'm not saying that readers should treat us writers like Gods and celebs either, or for us to be placed on top of a pedestal, by the way. This is an entirely different kind of writers entitlement that I'd love to talk about in a different post, but this isn't the kind of 'entitlement' that's being talked about here, so...)
Why do writers ASK readers to reblog our fics?
Because tumblr's reblog system is the main reason why we chose to post our fics on Tumblr in the first place. Reblogging helps our post to be circulated around, while keeping our copyright safe/still belong to us instead of being reposted by others, and each time anyone finds our fic in their dash, these new people will be directed back to us without any reblogger/reader having to get into any amount of trouble of having to link you back to us or credit us (like reposters on wattpad barely do)
Likes and kudos may help boost our fics if it had been in any other platforms, but the same can't apply here on Tumblr. Because liking a post only helps YOU, a reader, to keep the post that you like to be 'bookmarked' on your 'liked' list. Not anyone will be able to see those liked posts unless you make them public or if these other people would spend more time perusing your blog
I personally don't mind if readers can only leave a like, even if I can't tell if it means you're actually loving the story or you're only bookmarking it to read later. At least, a like on my circulating fic indicates that you've seen my work and that's already enough for me. And I can also tell you that I, as many other writers, will always appreciate deeply those who take their time to at least leave a comment whether it's on reply or an ask if they can't help reblog the fic. Which means, if you can't reblog it, we can't really force you to do it, but we WILL love it if anyone do it
Talking about "Only likes will be blocked"
I have never once seen any of my writer friends saying this on their posts. Do I agree with this? No, not really. But I also don't agree when the OG poster said something about a writer adding this on their disclaimer because the writer thinks they have 'a power over other people's blog'. Like...this is another weird take.
Because for me, the only power that this disclaimer gives a writer is the power to curate their own blog and their audience.
I may not agree with a writer putting said disclaimer (especially when it leads to people clumping them with a bunch of us who don't think this is necessary to do) but I can't fault them by adding this disclaimer on their blog. Maybe this writer has a problem with silent readers or is fed up with the imbalance between likes and reblogs that don't do much in helping boost their fics?
We'll never know what's the reason behind this disclaimer but, I'm going to turn this one back around to the OG poster and their supporters and say, who are YOU to think you have the power to decide how a writer should be running their blog?
I've seen other writers doing things that I don't agree with, but it's their business and it's not my problem how they're handling their blog and their audience. If you can't agree with one writer's way in how they are running their blog, then perhaps you can turn away and support other writers instead? some of us don't bite and aren't rude to others. some don't even care what you do, as long as you're not stealing their work. some others don't have enough energy to do either one of the above and are only here to post fics and have fun (like me lol)
just don't post your shit at this point lmaooo 😭😭
This one is the part that makes me smh the most. Let me ask you this, which one would hurt a fandom community more: when writers or content creators suddenly feel like they have enough of entitled readers and choose to stop posting, delete everything, leaving nothing behind for other people in the fandom community to enjoy, or a loss of followers?
Content enjoyers and readers come and go, we all know this, we've all experienced this, but not everyone is willing to spare their time to write or create content for other people to enjoy. Fandom community will keep growing. New audience will keep on coming. But if nobody is creating anything, what happens to the community? What is there to enjoy?
I agree with you, anon. I don't think this person knows anything about what kind of hard work goes behind a fic or a content. Because if they'd known even just a sliver of what goes behind the scene and how these contents they are enjoying here in this site came to be, they would have never said any crap on what a creator does in order to feel appreciated and supported by their audience

your m+ posting always makes me wanna try it but it still scares me so hard as someone who rarely does dungeons and has never done m+ before (even tho i’ve raided a lot and am fine w that). do you have any tips on how to get started w m+ or anything for people new to it?
OMG YAAAAY okay i can actually give you tips that helped me because i didnt do a single m+ dungeon until late bfa, and i didnt do anything above a 10 until shadowlands season 2 which was also the first season i started doing like "high" keys if you want to call it that. but i always really wanted to try it all of legion and most of bfa i was just so scaredpilled and terrifiedmaxxing. ok anyway AUTISM BLAST READMORE OF DOOM
#1 thing i would recommend is doing a youtube binge of a bunch of guides for the current season's dungeons thats aimed at newer players or people unfamilliar with the m+ environment and then going in on a regular mythic or a +2 until you personally feel comfortable and think you have a grasp of whats going on. you can watch as many guides as you want but nothing's going to teach you like throwing yourself in there and doing it for yourself. idk if youve done dawn of the infinites before it was turned into m+ (or at all) but it had a few more mechanics and quirks for some bosses and they were a LOT harder at the time (morchie, chrono lord deios, and manifested timeways come to mind). my first time doing it my friends literally summoned me after the first boss because their tank dropped group and needed one and i had to learn everything on the fly with them explaining it over voice and while it was horrifying it was a good learning experience. for this season specifically, this video is a decent "cheat sheet" for all of the bosses and their mechanics that you can just skip through for a general idea of things, and this playlist consists of videos for each dungeon that are super in depth and basically explain what's going on from dungeon entrance to dungeon end. trash packs, dangerous abilities, what each role should be focusing on, bosses and their mechanics, etc
you said you already raid so i don't have to preach the whole "know your class" thing but m+ is an entirely different beast from raid requiring a different mindset and your personal responsibility pretty much skyrockets across the board. tank is pretty chill in raid but in m+ it's much harder because you have no cotank and you're the one calling the shots and setting the pace and you're sort of expected to know exactly what you're doing and how you're going to do it and if it deviates at all from what they expect you better be able to prove it wasn't a bad idea. i dont heal in raids so i dont really know how it is but i can't imagine that going from 5~ cohealers to none makes you feel any better and being able to compensate for everybody else's mistakes that aren't a literal 100-0 oneshot is pretty much required and very much not for the weakhearted. as dps you go from one in a million to expected to do your job because a dps in m+ who doesnt do their job (ccing, not getting hit, using defensives) is a lot more noticeable and problematic than a dps in raid who doesn't do their job because a bad dps in raid is just mildly irritating but a bad dps in m+ can make or break the run
across the board for all roles i think the #1 mindset change to adopt is a much heavier focus on mob control and having the proper utility to survive both mobs and bosses. this usually boils down to taking every cc talent you can spare the points for and sometimes sacrificing damage to take a talent point in being able to dispel diseases, or purge etc. you can usually get away with not taking the right utility talents in raid unless it's something like stampeding roar or darkness because you probably have somebody else who can do it for you. you can't really get away with that in m+ because you're running into situations where you have to interrupt or stun or purge or slow or knockback or run away or heal yourself or press your immunity button from the moment you put the key in until the last boss dies and you often have to exhaust every button available to you as soon as it's ready. sometimes its not enough, sometimes everybody's all out of buttons, and you just have to survive until things die. if you watch m+ streamers at all then you already know things are just constantly happening all the time and it never stops but most streamers play in coordinated groups with voice chat which reduces the difficulty of these dungeons by like 50% imho. if you're pugging then you have to play the game like everybody else in your group is a fucking idiot (which is just going to be true most of the time) and plan around the possibility that you have to do the job of 5 people
if you want to know what other people are running or what the best setup for your class is in m+, i recommend cross referencing between the m+ sections of both icyveins and wowhead, your class's discord, and subcreation.net and seeing what seems to be a common denominator between all or most of them. emphasis on cross referencing because most of these have their flaws. class discords are objectively super helpful and up to date but are usually full of freaks detached from reality who are physically incapable of doing anything except circlejerking. subcreation is a data website that just shows what most people are rocking irt talents/gear, and while i personally use it religiously many people advise against data websites because they don't give the big picture on why people are running x and/or y. i dont see a problem with that, it's just best used in tandem with other resources. i don't have any negative things to say about wowhead or icyveins, they're just authored by different types of hosts (wowhead guides are often maintained by one person who's really good at what they do naturally, icyveins guides are the product of class discords and thus are sort of a group effort). i personally like to refer to wowhead more because there's a lot more little comments and notes by authors explaining the rationale behind why x is good and y is bad or maybe if you're this type of player you'd prefer this instead of that. again, you might know all of this as a raider, but idk the extent of your raiding experience and it doesn't hurt to bring it up just incase. here's the subcreation page for havoc dh, which is my main, to give you an idea of what that website provides. i think an underrated benefit of subcreation stems from it "hiding" all of the talent points that are taken 99% of the time, so anything that remains is usually a flex point for a reason you have to figure out through the other resources listed. to use havoc dh as an example, the flex points in the class tree are usually just different choices made with utility (aoe fear, longer throw glaive or throw glaive that slows enemies, longer spectral sight etc), but in the spec tree there's only one flex point, and there's 3 different options that all fill the same niche (your burst aoe button) but are WILDLY different in how they play. i know why theyre picked and when, but if i didnt, id probably look at icyveins and wowhead. and to use havoc dh as an example again, glaive tempest is rarely mentioned on those websites compared to fel barrage and essence break, and if i wasn't very familiar with the class i'd be a bit confused. so that's where i'd go into the class discord and literally ctrl-f "glaive tempest" lol. i think this is honestly more relevant in m+ than in raid because raid is going to be focused on single target builds 99.9% of the time, but you need a mixed damage profile in m+ and that just naturally leads to more diverse builds that do different types of damage. the same thing can apply to healing and tanking though. m+ healing has a higher emphasis on "on-demand" spot healing, 1-5 target group healing but no more than 5, and damage is going to be more relevant here than in raid. m+ tanking will start to prioritize generating as much threat as you can in a very short amount of time to multiple targets, anything that will help specifically make you tankier vs multiple targets for an extended period of time, and crowd control, which is usually not something you see in raid.
do it scared. if youre scared to do it bad you still have to do it scared. there's no way to stop being scared than to do it scared. tell people you're still learning mechanics in a +2 and they will either not care in the slightest or be more than happy to explain things
a quick "shit, thats my bad" is like an irl soothe. will instantly diffuse any potential conflict unless somebody's just a cunt. then they're not worth your time. make a macro to say "oops mb" if you have to. it shows that you're not a dick and you are cognizant of your own abillity to fuck up and are therefore aware of what the correct thing to do was
in turn, dont be the cunt unless somebody is a cunt to you first. flaming people is worth it approximately 1% of the time. you probably aren't inclined to do this while you're still scared but wanting to punch your monitor because some dipshit just failed the easiest mechanic in the world is eternal in both raiding and m+ once you know what you're doing. there will come a point where somebody dying at a bad time to stupid shit is going to ruin the key. (thankfully you don't reach that point until the mid 20s, but people will act like that's true much sooner than that). they probably know they fucked up and you likely don't have to say anything more than "gg". there is also a point where it is expected of everybody to be able to do things with a moderate amount of intelligence. if somebody dies to a very easy to avoid ground aoe multiple times that most everybody in your group forgot could even one shot because it's that easy to avoid, yes, a little bit of "wtf are you doing you idiot" could be warranted. if you're the one dying to stupid shit, pull out the "mb dunno whats up with me right now" and clear your head. if somebody else is the one dying to stupid shit, accept you can't do anything about it besides be mildly irritated.
build good habits for mechanics early. unfortunately in a +2 and honestly for most keys until the high teens / low 20s depending on your gear, shit is just going to tickle and you're not really going to notice it. other people also just aren't going to do mechanics most of the time unless it is an actual intentional pass/fail that will most likely kill you or wipe you on every key level. i think the best way to circumvent this is to treat every swirlie like it will kill you, like every frontal will kill you (unless it's a designated tank frontal and you're the tank, and even then, treat it like it will kill you and mitigate it), like every unkicked cast could kill you, so on and so forth. obviously this is much easier said than done.
sort of related to the previous point, i also believe that you don't really learn to respect a mob or a boss until it turns around and slaps you for 2x your health bar. it's like a fun hidden reputation bar. you start a +2 tyrannical black rook hold with the risen arcanist being at 0/10000 "what does this guy even do" and one day in your first +25 bolstered fortified black rook hold the risen arcanist will arcane blitz you for 7 million damage when you have 800k hp and suddenly you're 10000/10000 "im going to have nightmares about this mob for the rest of my life" and you will have learned a valuable lesson. then, and only then, do you understand on a fundamental and atomic level why the risen arcanist must be treated with the respect that it demands, and what cooldowns you have to reserve for it in the next run. this is just a part of putting in the reps and doing it scared and just jumping right in. you will learn over time what mobs you HAVE to respect and which ones are allowed to get a few casts off or live a bit longer in favor of the more threatening ones. you will also learn which boss abilities are just a rough slap across the face and which ones are Literally 9/11 which will just instantly fucking kill you with no hope of ever surviving without pressing your biggest defensive, which sometimes means you just have to rawdog the slaps across the face so that you dont get instantly fucking killed by Literally 9/11. guides will always tell you this sort of thing and what to watch out for but just like how you dont really learn mechanics from reading about it, you dont learn that a +25 tyrannical iridikron's stonecracker barrage is just going to fucking kill you if you dont do something about it and it probably will kill you even if you DO do something about it and that's just the reality we live in and your next step is to find out if you cuold have done anything more to prevent it.
ok thats enough typing from me. if you ever have specific questions you can always send an ask again. i wish u luck i lov dis game mode i hope u enjoyed my autism wall of text <3

Very personal but important question(s?) regarding chronic health issues and disability
So I’ve had fibromyalgia and Gastroparesis for about a decade now, and I try my best to self-manage these issues (in addition to the expensive meds they give me that don’t really provide relief), but it becomes severely difficult for me to work a full schedule, particularly when my job drains me physically, mentally, and emotionally. I spend my days off in complete recovery mode, absolutely bed-ridden, afraid to do anything social or physical, because I risk going into a total Fibro meltdown. Which is a nightmare, but I’ll spare you the details.
I’ve been considering applying for partial disability because I think working 3 or 4 days instead of 5 or 6 would be much better for most humans, honestly, but particular for someone like me who deals with chronic nausea, discomfort, and pain on the daily. I’ve been putting it off for ages though because I know that disability can be very difficult to get and a horrible process and I can’t work myself up to it or afford a disability lawyer to help me. I tried being a little more aggressive this past summer and collected “documentation” on my fibromyalgia in the hope of preparing to submit it, and literally all of my documentation says “fibromyalgia?” because apparently none of my doctors believe me after years of testing and thousands of dollars of office visits trying to get this diagnosis. To be honest, using fibromyalgia as my reasoning for disability needs was a dead end anyway because lots of doctors still don’t believe it exists, so I doubt the government would find that a good reason either. And I really doubt they would take the Gastroparesis seriously either, even though both of these conditions are dehabilitating at times.
So one of my friends recommended I go through the avenue of my mental health issues. At different points of my life I’ve been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, bipolar, ocd, adhd, etc, and who knows what the real answer is, but she’s a mess. I’ve been realizing over the past couple years that I’m very likely autistic, and that would actually explain a lot of these things, but the past 6 months have been crazy, and even though I’ve been working a bunch, I’m poorer than ever because of the rising cost of everything, so I cannot afford to get a formal diagnosis yet. But I know that I told my most recent psychiatrist all these horror stories about my anxiety, so I decided to get done documentation for her too, and guess what? Generalized depression and mild anxiety. Girl, huh? (Tw: blood and dermatillomania coming up) I showed her evidence of scars on my hands from picking my hands every night til I bleed everywhere, I described how I get overwhelmed and cry at work several times a week and often fight back panic attacks at work and in my private life, I told her than I struggled to fall asleep and stay asleep and only got collectively about a few hours every night, I told her that I literally could not socialize without using alcohol as a crutch but I can no longer do that because of my digestive issues so I self-isolate, I told her that I struggle to maintain eye contact and panic when people give me eye contact… so many stories like these. Mild anxiety smdh
So that comes to my first question cause I guess I decided while writing this that I have a couple:
1) How do you, as a female-presenting person, get a diagnosis for severe anxiety? How wild do my stories have to be without accidentally committing myself?! I have an ex, amab, who basically pulled a john Mulaney and was like, “I get nervous on planes sometimes” and he legit got a prescription for Xanax or one of those other big ones, and another who is on a dose of gabapentin 5x the strength of mine because he gets social anxiety sometimes, so this is especially frustrating that I can’t even get a dang proper diagnosis on anything after ten+ years of therapy, doctors, tests, everything.
2) What is the process like for getting an autism diagnosis and are there cheaper routes you can go that would still be credible? I’ve exhausted my expenses from years of jobs not paying my worth combined with money poured down the drain trying to get any sort of help with my kaleidoscope of issues, and at this point I’m too broke and demotivated and burnt out to figure out a way forward.
3. Has anyone been able to get partial or full disability who would be willing to hold my hand through the steps and keep me motivated? I know it’s a huge ask but I honestly get so anxious even thinking about the process that I completely shut down. At the very least, maybe you could explain what worked for you or how you would approach it better next time? I just moved far away from my support group so I’m feeling alone and even a word of caution or encouragement would help.
I know I’m not really as connected to this community as I used to be, but I’m hoping someone will get to the end of this and even a kind word or a smidge of sympathy/empathy would be nice. And please do reach out if you have fibro because I don’t meet many and it would be nice to have friends who can relate. Thank you for listening! 💜💜💜

Hey y'all. I hate to make this kind of post while the world is in the condition its in but I'm trying to survive and not be homeless.
The Situation
I've taken care of my disables veteran mother since I was 14. I'm 27 now and I'm really chronically ill from PCOS. I have PTSD and Major Depression because of this I never learned to drive because I was continuously traumatized while trying to learn or when trying to ask to learn. I needed my family's help to get to medical appointments and instead I was treated like an inconvenience until I could no longer work from being in pain all the time. My family kicked me out of the house after I snapped when I told them I was in a lot of pain and to nauseous to eat and they replied with a scoff. My mom called the cops and lied to them telling them I hit her and had me arrested for domestic violence... I've been a pacifist since I was 5 I've never hit anyone except for when I was having severe psychosis because I was unmedicated and undiagnosed. I greatly regret those times even though I have no memory of them. My mom was also pocketing and lying about my SSI. She had me work 3 jobs when I started getting sicker and my body started giving out about a year ago. I had to pause my college classes because of my health and I smoke weed to manage the pain since I can't get to doctors. My pausing class led my mom to tell everyone that I quit school to stay home and smoke weed all day. I work at the college and my campus is my real home. I would rather spend all day in pain on campus at work then stay at home because my real home is my campus. I gave her everything I could. I took care of her half of my life and when I genuinely needed her she abandoned me. I got kicked out in November and I've been staying with a friend. I'm trying to find a place to rent when I can afford to reunite with my cats. I need help with a deposit and some groceries for now. I live in FL and you need a medical card and I couldn't renew mine in time so I can't get medical weed for a while. The semester hasn't started yet so I can't start work yet. I don't want to be short because of the deposit and I want to help my friend with groceries while I'm staying with her because she isn't charging me to stay here even though if someone finds out that I'm here they'll be in breach of their lease and can get kicked out. I also need help with basic hygiene because I done want to spend my SSI because I need to find a place to stay ASAP.
Please if you can spare anything at all cash app me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
$0/$750
$600 for rent
$100 for the background check
$50 for a Uhaul to move my mattress, dresser, shelf and desk to the new place once I have one.
TLDR: Help me put down a deposit for a room to rent and and moving fees. My mom pocketed all of my SSI for the last 10 years while lying about how much I was receiveing and also demanded most of my paycheck. I don't have savings because she would take them.

Anything I need to know about fallout going in, or can I just, get it and go ham?
One big recommendation is to download and use Fallout Fixt. Other than that...
1- Reading the manual is vital! With a lot of older games there isn’t much of a tutorial and they expect you to read the manual for basic information instead. Fortunately, old game manuals are actually very fun to read and you can just use the index to skip over anything that is too basic. It was written for people who have never played an RPG before.
2- It is much more fun to make your own character rather than using one of the premades, which are not really that good build-wise anyway.
3- Unfortunately, a lot of games with tons of different skills don’t manage to make them all equally relevant or important. A lot of the skills in the game have only marginal utility and can be avoided.
Skills like small guns (which includes rifles and shotguns), lockpick, and especially speech are golden while skills like throwing are far less useful. There’s a big middle ground of skills that are decent but not really worth spending that many points on.
4- The Gifted trait is broken. It lowers your skills but gives you +1 to every stat. It almost feels like cheating, so if you want to have a much easier time you should consider it. Moving some of the bonus stat points to intelligence helps offset the skill penalty. Relative to 3 and New Vegas, it is relatively difficult to permanently raise your stats (although wearing power armor is a big strength boost).
5- The Awareness perk is a good choice for your first perk at level 3. It lets you know exactly how much HP enemies you are looking at have and also what weapon they’re wielding. This can help you make more informed decisions during combat. I think it requires 5 Perception as a minimum?
6- Don’t stress too much about the initial time limit. It is actually very generous and you should have time to spare if you take care to talk to people and follow leads. Once you deliver the chip you can explore far more freely.
7- Before you go to Vault 15 or The Glow, have a piece of rope on you. You will need to use rope to really get into these places.
8- Overall using drugs for anything other than healing or dealing with radiation (which is a much smaller aspect of the game than you might think) is a bad idea.
9- Do not give Ian a weapon with burst fire.
10- A lot of people don’t like it when you talk to them with a weapon in your active item slot. Rather than putting it away, you can keep your secondary slot empty and switch to that one when talking.
11- Also worth noting that while opening your inventory in combat takes 4 action points you can use as many healing items as you want and also reload your weapons while you are there.
12- Combat-wise, Agility is king. It gives you more action points, which means more attacks and more movement.
13- Try not to start with less than 4 intelligence or the game will be very different and you will be unable to do most things. Intelligence is a pretty overpowered stat overall.
14- Money and drugs are weightless. When possible, try to trade for either cash or more stimpaks.
15- By the time you reach the midgame, it might be worth it to start putting points into energy weapons. The absolute best weapon in the game, the turbo plasma rifle, is in this category. However, it is probably not a good idea to start with a high energy weapons skill because you are very unlikely to find any in the first half of a normal playthrough.
16- This is a bit unintuitive, but if you did not tag Melee Weapons at character creation you may actually be better off fighting unarmed rather than using them, as your unarmed skill is likely to be higher (resulting in a better chance to hit).
17- Once your skills are high, it is a great idea to start using called shots to target specific body parts. The eyes in particular are the most difficult but most deadly target, especially once you get the Better Criticals perk. You can even get instant kill crits this way.
18- The combat system is not very deep, but you should not neglect making good use of movement. It’s generally far more impactful than ending your turns with AP to spare for the extra dodge chance. If you move away from a melee opponent before ending your turn, for example, they will have to spend some of their points moving up to you again before attacking and so they may get less attacks off.
For the same reason, hiding behind corners during gunfights is recommended since it can force enemies to spend a round walking up to you rather than shooting.
19- The last major thing that comes to mind is also something the manual should have drilled in well: Save often and in different slots.

Do you have any tips on trying to self learn martial arts? I was looking specifically at Muay Thai, because it uses elbows and knees, but literally anything is good, I just have no clue where to start.
-Riley
Muay Thai is one of my favorites as stated before so great choice honestly. The thing with Muay Thai though is that a lot of the strikes do best when you can actually strike something as a lot of the strikes use a lot of momentum, and some of the fancier kicks can really be hard to preform in a shadow boxing manner due to how you have to move - so self learning Muay Thai will likely hit a wall at a certain point unless you have a sparing partner, a kick shield set up, or a good heavy punching bag since having that physical contact and grounded weighted "opponent" is caked into some of the moves.
With that being said, a lot of the core fundamentals and body shit for Muay Thai is more than still possible to practice at home without even having a bag or any target other than a good and proper wall (and light switch if you wanna have fun with it)
For example, a lot of Muay Thai moves and basics comes from the general stance (videos below) and the general way to stand while kicking and blocking as - if you didn't know - kicking often puts you on one leg and there is a form of balance and control that needs to be learned to get any of the kicks landing solidly.
For that in particular, most people would learn the basic stance and basic theory of how to stand and kick from someone else experienced (usually in person, but you can definitely find it online) and then usually one of the tips for people struggling is to go home find a wall and lift your leg up and tap the wall with your toes before bring it back. You could also learn the theory of the jab kick and do that specifically, but if you are learning the balance, so much as just using one leg to touch the wall is a good place to start. A particularly fun but "totally not recommended childish" thing is to do this exact thing, but to flick a light switch on and off. It'd piss off any home owner and you dont want to *kick* it on and off, but it is really good for getting that one legged balance and foot dexterity while feeling like a stupid child about it.
Once you get the general balance down, itd look into basic foot work (helps with fluidity and masking tells, this is something you should work on chronically though if you are dedicated), the jab / push kick (for distancing), low roundhouse, and blocking with the legs from some of the dedicated youtube stuff.
Additionally, if you have a friend that either is a masochist that trusts you, you can also run through the motions of strikes and keep the force to like 5% and / or pull back / pull the kicks and not actually strike them, but I would not recommend that to newbies or people without martial arts training since kicks, particularly high momentum driven ones like round houses, can be hard to control if you aren't confident and used to them.
I'm shocked we havent gotten the police called on us for the amount of times we just casually start a kick or punch or strike at our fiance but either not actually hitting him or stopping and then just tapping him playfully.
Also, if you do have a friend that would also be interested, you could always benefit massively by both just getting decent quality shin guards and actually sparing because sparring practice is one of the best ways to learn practical Muay Thai and it makes me kinda sad we only had time to go to a few of the sparring sessions.
I don't follow as much Muay Thai stuff on youtube as much cause I'm a Wing Chun Primary Simp and I'm currently focusing on expanding Wing Chun skills and repertoire but some of the links below I generally skimmed seemed decent starting introduction stuff and the channels - if you like them - probably have more in depth explanations for things than I could put in a single text post.
This first one looks good, it is a bit heavy so I wouldn't suggest all of this in one day and it is a lot for one time but it seems a good brief coverage of a lot of things you could practice.
The second one seems less in depth in the explanations on how to do things, but it seems more beginner friendly in terms of pacing and information.
That being said for both of these I only skimmed them so I might be wrong.

Foxma HC's
I love these bitches so much. I've finished Gotham now and lemme just say... You know that scene (spoilers for season 5 from here I guess lmao) when Ed breaks into the GCPD and is going through the files, and Lucius catches him and pushes him back with a hand on his chest?? Yeah, I've been thinking about that scene a lot. This list breaks from canon a little bit (as in, it exists in a world where they would realistically date), but oh well. Enjoy :-)
Tumblr media
I reckon they're one of those couples where people don't even realise they're dating until something obviously lovey-dovey happens
like, they'll be at a dinner party or something and one of them maybe gets a little too drunk and kisses the other, and everyone else is like "lol that's embarrassing, Lucius and Ed just kissed" and they're like "???yeah??? We've been dating for 3 years now???"
Like, between all the hand holding, and the sharing food and clothes, everyone just thought they were really friendly with each other (but in hindsight they probably should have guessed)
they have nights where they challenge each other at board games all night. Like, they'll cycle through about 15 games in one night, and have an ongoing tally of wins pinned up on the fridge
on their anniversary, they'll buy each other a new game to add to the tournament
predictably, if they ever watch a game show on TV, they'll race to answer the question first (but every now and then, Lucius lets Ed win just to see how excited he gets about it (Ed knows this of course, but he doesn't mind so much when Lucius looks at him like that))
because they're interested in the same sort of subjects, info dumping is always a fun time for both of them (even if it's unrelated, it's still fun)
while Ed's hanging up the washing, he'll listen to Lucius rant about the intricacies and beauty of biomechanics
and then while Lucius is cooking, he'll listen to Ed rant about epigenetics
This happens a lot though, with pretty much anything...
"so they've basically got a ton of chromosomes!! And there's this one fern that has the world record for having the most!! It's called the adder's tongue fern, or Ophioglossum reticulatum, and it has up to 1,440 chromosomes!!! That's way too many!!" "And what was this called again??" "Polyploidy!! Wait, I haven't even started on Oxytricha trifallax yet!! So basically-" *heart eyes*
Ed always forgets to carry his ear defenders around, so Lucius makes sure he has a spare pair in his bag just in case Ed needs them
Lucius likes to tinker with things when he's bored
one time, Ed came home to find him surrounded by a mixture of cogs and screws only to find that he'd taken apart their toaster
"it stopped working..."
"oh, okay!! Can you fix it?"
"Yeah! It was a fairly common problem, all I needed to do was- what? Why are you looking at me like that?"
*absolute heart eyes* "I just love you is all"
there are so many books and papers around their house that it could be mistaken for a library
well, it's like that right up until the moment Ed gets overstimulated by it all, and then Lucius helps him clean it until everywhere is spotless again (this usually happens late at night, leading to the two of them cleaning until 2 AM and they can finally both sleep)
their whole house is a mixture of dark wood and warm colours. It's really lovely when one comes back and can smell a home cooked meal wafting through the corridors. That's when it especially feels like home
They have a coat hanger by the door that is always overflowing with jackets. When it finally fell over, they both had to reevaluate how many coats they actually needed
one time Ed learn how to quilt so he gave Lucius a massive quilted blanket for his birthday. It was big enough to cover their bed and checked with reds and yellows and the occasional dark green. He loved it so much that it became a permanent fixture in their room
in the winter months, when their small flat can't keep out the Gotham cold, they'll bundle under the blankets and hold onto eachother until they fall asleep
there's not really a strict big spoon or little spoon, just two people clinging to eachother in a tangle of limbs
Lucius has one of those alarms where you have to solve a maths equation before it turns off. Normally Ed would love it, but not at 5 AM...
"nghh can you just turn it off already"
"give me a second, this one's a bit challenging... actually, I'm just going to grab some paper quickly-"
"can you at least taKE THE ALARM WITH YOU?!" Ed groans as he rolls over and tries to hide from the noise in his pillow
Lucius likes to go on runs early in the morning. He enjoys the fresh air and lack of people. That and the fact that Ed is only just waking up when he gets back, sleepily kissing him and handing him a warm cup of coffee with the promise of breakfast soon after
That being said, sometimes he'll go to get up for his run only to find Ed curled into his side. It's those mornings when he decides to snooze his alarm and spend another hour or so dozing next to the love of his life
they go on cute dates to their local museum, sometimes checking out the occasional lecture happening there
They enjoy comparing notes afterwards to see what parts each of them found most interesting
But sometimes if the lecture is boring (and it's rare for either of them to find a lecture boring) they'll forgo the academic notes, and instead send messages back and fourth across the desk
Ed always expects Lucius to throw the notes away afterwards, but he keeps them at the back of his notebook
This lecture is kind of boring. He's just ranting about Crayfish?
Yes, it is slightly strange. I think I heard him say something about invasive species, but honestly I drifted off about 10 minutes ago
Do you want to grab a Chinese after this?
Yeah sure! The usual place?
Obviously
...
Love you
I love you too

On Monday
This is my first fic in years so yeah. This is based on On Monday from 35mm. I have ideas for the rest of the song but idk if I'll actually post them.
Modern!Aemond x Reader
Warnings: Fluff, mutual pining??? Coffee shop is its own warning lol
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
A grunt left your mouth as you rolled over and grabbed the phone that was piercing your ears. You were comfy, the pillows were softer than they have ever been, and the bed has never felt softer. You were aching to fall back asleep but you knew better than to tempt fate and close your eyes once again. Slowly, you opened your eyes as you disabled the alarm.
This is fine, you thought. But as your vision came into focus, you saw the time. 6:00 AM.
“Shit shit shit shit shit shit FUUUUUCK!”
Oh god, you were going to be late. Again. You couldn’t risk that, so you pulled on whatever was on the top of the hamper and sprinted out the door. Thankfully, you only had to run three blocks away to get to your job at King’s Landing Cafe. As you burst through the door your boss, Mr. Greyjoy, was standing there looking at his watch only to glance up at you when you stopped right in front of him.
A smile spread across his face as you were catching your breath. “Nice to see you made it to work, Y/N, with only… 5 minutes to spare. Good job!” he patted your back on his way to the back as you half-heartedly gave him a thumbs up.
Once your body was all caught up after one of the fastest sprints you have ever done, you went to the back to get ready for the day. The morning rush was about to come in and you had to prep, well, the best that you could prep with five minutes. Except, now, it was more like three minutes now. You did the best you could but those three minutes were basically nonexistent.
The door opened and you looked up to see one of the most beautiful guys you have ever seen. He had silver hair tied back in a half up half down style that flowed magnificently with every step he took. He had a sleek eye patch that matched his all black outfit. Black shirt, black leather jacket, black jeans, black combat boots, everything on his body was black including the backpack that was snug against him. Other than his hair, the other thing that stood out was his eye. His violet eye. As he came closer to the counter you couldn’t help but stare. You were stuck on him and he hasn’t even said a word to you.
“Hey, welcome to King’s Landing Cafe. What can I get started for you?” you managed to spit out.
Shivers immediately down your back as the mysterious man made eye contact with you. His face was neutral and his eye was intense. You squirmed under his stare but as soon as you showed any uneasiness his face softened.
“I’ll just take a black coffee,” he stated. He looked you up and down with a knowing smile. “Are you okay? You seem a little… uneasy.” He knew that he made people uncomfortable due to his eye patch but he could tell that you were uneasy for other reasons. The silver haired man wanted to see if you would say anything.
You couldn’t help but stutter out your next few words. “Um, yeah. Yeah, one black coffee. That’ll be three dollars.” You were so flustered and you couldn’t quite pin down why. Obviously this beautiful man was the source of the uneasiness but there was something else. Something else pulling you towards him.
“Canihaveyournameforyourcoffee?” Once the words left your mouth your eyes went wide. There was literally no one else in the cafe. You knew that. He knew that.
His smile grew ever so slightly as he let out a little hum. “Aemond.”
“Aemond.” It was almost like you were testing how his name felt in your mouth. “Aemond. Cool, cool, cool. I’ll get that coffee right to you.” You turned around as quick as possible and got his coffee. For some reason you wanted him to leave but you also wanted him to stay. “Here you go, one black coffee. Have a nice day!” You almost shoved the cup in his hands only to have him back up a few steps.
“Don’t you need me to pay?” he chuckled. “You told me how much it cost but you didn’t even wait for me to pay you.”
Your eyes widened at your mistake as your cheeks began to flush. Once again he stepped up to the counter. Embarrassment flooded your body as he handed you the three dollars. You couldn’t look at him now. Who forgets the basics of receiving money from a customer from a cafe?
Aemond looked at you and could feel the shame radiating off your body. “Hey, it’s no problem. Mistakes happen to everyone.”
As you handed him his coffee that you almost pushed into his shirt you could feel him analyzing you. His gaze was so intense that you swear he could read you like a book and hear your heart pounding. He gave you a small smile, and raise the cup in a quick goodbye and turned around to leave the building. Seeing him walk towards the door pushed you to do unthinkable. Well, the unthinkable to you.
“Wanna stop by later and hang out?” you immediately slapped your hand over your mouth.
A smirk began to crawl its way to Aemond’s face as the words hung in the air for a few moments. Finally, Aemond turned to face you. “Yeah, I can swing by. Can I ask why you feel the need to ask a stranger to hang out?”
“I, uh,” you tried to come up with an excuse other than that you found him incredibly intriguing and attractive. “I want to redeem myself and show you that I’m not a complete mess?” That definitely came out as a question and you mentally smacked yourself.
Aemond hummed, something you surprisingly found sexy. Sexy? Your mind was reeling. You went from calling this man beautiful to sexy in the span of ten minutes. He found this stuttering attempt endearing, almost cute, which is not something that goes through his head often. Aemond didn’t understand it as well, but just like you, there was something pulling him towards you.
“Yeah, I can swing by. Who knows, maybe this time I’ll make a mistake.” He gave you one last smirk before he turned around and left.
The rest of the day was a blur but it couldn’t go any slower. You served customer after customer and you swore the gods were punishing you for being impulsive with Aemond. Despite the exhaustion, you were looking forward to seeing Aemond again. However, there was a nag in the back of your head, the thought that he just may not show up. Which, when you really thought about it, makes logical sense. Why would a guy show up at a cafe at the end of the day just to talk to a barista he had a ten minute conversation with. It wasn’t even that much of a conversation.
You were starting to feel the nagging thought run through your body as 5:30 rolled around. Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath and resigned yourself to the reality that Aemond wouldn’t show up. Just as you were going to lock up you see a silver head run down the sidewalk.
“Hey! Sorry, I was late. Classes ran late.” Aemond huffed out.
You just stared at him until he coughed in a hey, please respond kind of way. “It’s okay. We can hang out in the cafe but we’ll just be in the back so people don’t think we’re open.”
You opened the door and let him inside. As he went through the doorway you just looked at him in awe. You were drawn to his confidence, to him. Following him into the cafe the two of you chose a table in the back. Silence fell on both of you, kind of awkward, kind of comfortable.
Aemond was the first to break it up. “I just realized that you never gave me your name.”
“Y/N.”
“Y/N,” your name rolled off his tongue with such ease that you could believe that you two have known each other for years. “So, um,” a hand ran through his hair, “how do you want to redeem yourself?”
His question almost sounded suggestive but you just brushed it off, blaming your overactive brain.
You sighed. “I don’t know. Something came over me when I asked you to hang out and now I’m at a dead end, I guess.”
Aemond hummed before suggesting something. “How about we just have a conversation. I think I’ve seen you around campus so let’s start there.” He cocked his head to the side. “What’s your major?”
It was your turn to smile a bit. “I’m an English Language and Literature major. And you?”
“I’m a Philosophy major. Hmm. English Language and Literature. I think we share some classes. Do you take Professor Baratheon’s Philosophy of Language?”
Your eyes lit up in surprise. “Yeah! But there’s only one section of that class. How come I’ve never seen you before?”
“I stay pretty quiet and sit in the back. I don’t like to draw attention to myself. Sitting closer to the front has a tendency to bring me unwanted attention.”
“Unwanted attention? Why would people be distracted by you?”
Aemond raise his eyebrows his confusion. “Y/N, I have an eye patch and a scar running down my face. Most people just stare because it’s scary. I know when people look at me they see someone who’s messed up, someone different. And in my case, my difference has a tendency to scare other. When I sit in the back no one looks at me, everyone can focus and we can all just get through the class.”
“You don’t scare me, Aemond. I actually feel fairly comfortable with you.” You don’t know why you said it, or why it was even true. You’ve only had fifteen minutes of a conversation with him overall, and you already feel like you’ve been best friends for years. It confused you as to why people thought he was scary. You understood it a little bit, but other than the initial shock of seeing the eye patch it didn’t really bother you. If anything you found his eye patch and scar alluring. It made him mysterious, something that awakened feelings.
Your burst of honesty hit Aemond surprise. He gave a small smile. “Thanks, Y/N.” He said it with such sincerity that you could tell that it was something he didn’t hear often. You could tell that a barrier had been broken. Suddenly, everything felt oddly familiar.
The two of you went on through the evening talking about anything and everything. At some point you moved from a table to the little couch. Mr. Greyjoy added it to make the cafe more “homey.” Once on the couch Aemond pulled out his laptop and some philosophy books. Every minute brought you two closer and closer to each other until your head was on his chest and his arm was around you. You have never felt this safe, this comfortable with anyone. This though, this just felt right.
Aemond was going on about Plato’s view on theater and how it was all a farce. You were able to keep up with him but you didn’t have the desire to add on to the conversation. All you wanted to do was listen to him. You looked up at him and studied his face. You wanted to memorize it. The way that his eyebrows furrowed when he was thinking hard. How his nose wrinkled when he took a break between subjects. His violet eye brightening up when he got passionate.
“Plato just thought it was wrong, a lie. I have to agree with him. TV, movies, all of it, is just a lie. All of it is pretend and it can re- Y/N, you okay?” He caught you staring at him and all you could do was nod. “I can switch the topic if you’d like,” he laughed. “I know it can get boring.”
You shook your head. “No, it’s okay. I just, um, I just like to hear you talk.”
A smile graced Aemond’s face. “Hmm, okay.” He pulled you closer to him as a wave of confidence washed over him. “Anything else you’d like?” His face was suddenly mere inches from yours.
“Yeah, um, I…” was all you could blabble out. You leaned in closer. You don’t know what came over you but all you knew was that you wanted to kiss him. You wanted to feel his lips on yours.
Just as quickly as his confidence came, it confidence left. Aemond turned away and coughed in an attempt to ease the tension that was between the both of you. When he looked back at you, you were gazing up at him with big eyes. For a few moments all that you could two could focus on was each other. Aemond blinked a few time and shook his head as if to clear it and reached for his phone.
“Oh shit, I should get going. It’s already nine.”
“Yeah, we both should get going,” you softly laughed.
You were hoping you didn’t sound disappointed. You really thought something was going to happen. Your stomach dropped when he turned away but you swallowed it down and did your best to brush it off. After helping him pack up you and Aemond walked out of the cafe. You were about to say goodbye, a simple goodbye, when he pulled you into a hug.
As he pulled you in you couldn’t help but tense up. It wasn’t long until you relaxed into hug. For the first time in the few hours you’ve spent together you noticed how nice he smelled. It was familiar, it was comforting. You pulled away slightly to look up at him. Just like before, your faces were inches from each other. Very slowly, almost on instinct, you tiled your head up. Your eyes quickly darted to his lips as an invitation for him. He almost took it, too. At the last minute he inhaled sharply and put his head on top of yours with a sigh. When he broke the hug you felt cold. His warmth, his comfort, was gone. Once again you were going to say your goodbye and turn around and leave when you felt his hand on your wrist.
“Hey, it’s dark and I don’t think it would be safe for you to walk home. How about I drop you off?” Aemond prayed to the gods that his assumption was right that you walked home or he’d punch himself in the face
“I only live three blocks away, I’ll be okay,” you assured him.
“Y/N, I’d feel a lot better if you’d let me drop you off.”
You paused, trying not to think too much into his offer. “Yeah, I’d like that. Thanks, Aemond.” you smiled.
A warm feeling engulfed you as Aemond took your hand and led you to his car parked along the street. While you got in the car, Aemond took the chance to sneak in a look at you. Of course he’s been looking at you all night but you never saw it. Once you got settled he took off slowly. Despite the drive being slow it was too short for you. You desperately wanted to spend more time with him. The two of you were standing outside your apartment complex getting ready to say your actual goodbyes.
“Before you go, can I get your number?” Aemond asked. “You know, if you want to hang out again.”
“Yeah, sure.” Your cheeks heated up hoped that he couldnt’ see it in the dark.
After you exchanged numbers and made sure they were correct you said your real goodbyes. This time you pulled Aemond into a hug but made it a quick one. As much as you wanted to try to kiss him again, you didn’t want to push your luck.
Once you got to your room you flopped down on the bed and let yourself give way to all the emotions. You’ve never felt this giddy over a guy and you want more. Soon, your body caught up to you and told you just how exhausted you were. You fell into a slumber and dreamt of the silver haired angel you just met.

Tips for those who struggle with basic self-care due to disabilities.
1. Do everything in the shower
Literally I'm not even joking, brush your teeth, wash your face, change right after getting out so you don't procrastinate.
2. Eliminate steps you don't need
You won't eat because you have to walk to a certain place to get food? Keep food next to the places you most commonly spend time. (mostly right beside your bed) Same goes for water! If you don't like water use added flavoring. If you can't stand it cold try to get a hold of a cooler/ mini fridge it's not possible for everyone but if you can afford it that's a good option.
3. Find out why you struggle with a specific self care task and eliminate what makes it difficult where you can
You wont brush your teeth due to it taking too long? Use on of the plastic ones and just brush for as long as you can stand it. Even only a minute is better than not at all. If you struggle with showers because you can't bring your phone, then put it in a Ziploc baggie and bring it with you. Heck if you don't feel safe get one of those devices that locks a door from the inside so nobody can get in. Too many tasks? Try shaving your head (seriously, it takes less time to dry off and you don't have to shampoo or conditioner it).
4. Don't be afraid to do things at the wrong time
Didn't have energy to brush your teeth in the morning? That's ok if you have to leave the house keep a spare toothbrush in your bag to do it whenever you have energy (or use those disposable plastic ones they're pretty handy). If not just do it midday if you have the energy. Same goes for anything else there's never a wrong time to eat a snack (keep them in your bag if you're still in school step out into the hallway if you have to). If you can't shower in the morning do it at night, if you can't shower at all use deodorant/perfume, dry shampoo, and a wipe for your face once a day if you've got the energy.
5. Be aware of your energy and try not to overdraw.
This one isn't easy. Life is hard and you can't just stop living 100% because of disability. But, skipping tasks is okay when you need to. Take a break if you're working too hard or too fast. Ask for extensions if you're in school, if you're at work ask co-workers for help where you can.
6. Ask for help!!
Seriously. If you can't bring your groceries to the car ask for help. Getting things or making food can be too much sometimes if you live with someone else you can ask small favors if you need to. Otherwise? If you have people who are willing to help let them. If you don't have to do this on your own then don't.
Stay safe and take care of yourself the best you can <3

Persona 5 Royal musings after two months
For all both of you who are curious where I’m at in my first playthrough of Persona 5 Royal, I’m at the point where I’m extensively dealing with two of the most irritating “Confidants” in the game — Sae and Akechi. In other words, I’m at the “Casino”-themed palace.
It’s pretty wild that I’ve been playing this for two straight months every single night and still have lots left to go. I think I must’ve forgotten just how HEFTY these mainline Persona games are. They constitute a *commitment.*
Tumblr media
Sae is more surprised to see her sister and colleague in the courtroom than she is to learn that the supernatural is real. Seriously.
Various thoughts at this time:
I really liked the structural and puzzle elements of the “Pyramid” palace the most of the ones I’ve experienced so far. I’ve gotten the most lost in the Casino — I wound up doing circles in one area like three times before I found my way out. And it’s interesting to me how the first two palaces had this whole “the closer you get to their treasure, the more distorted and insane the palace becomes” thing going, but they totally dropped that aspect after the second one.
I’m not really sure they justified the “space” palace very well. Every other palace has something to do with how the target perceives/interprets their location/reality, right? But there’s never any talk of that target perceiving his world as being in space or being a spaceship or anything like that. He’s just... really into space-themed stuff, and that’s it. *shrug*
Speaking of that palace, OH MY GOD THAT BOSS FIGHT. I had to attempt it four times, and I had to keep referencing strategy guides and tips online to optimize everything about it. I finally beat it on the fourth try with a whole 28 seconds to spare. Anyone who is coming into this game? I strongly recommend you look up how you can best prepare for that fight LONG before you reach it, because I had to spend a load of time creating special move cards, fusing various personas to reach perfect balance, leveling up specific characters to get them to have the moves I needed, etc. It SUCKED, but apparently this is a known issue with the “Royal” version among players. Evidently, he’s considered the hardest boss in the game now. So I guess it’s all downhill from here, at least... ? Maybe. (ETA: Yes, it was smooth sailing from here.)
Is it me, or do some of the lesser targets within Mementos really seem like they should have their own full-blown palaces? From a story perspective, that is. Take the leader of the “ADP,” the person you have to target for the “Fortune” confidant: This dude’s influence spreads pretty far, and he’s done a ton of messed-up things to lots of people over the course of numerous years. It sure seems like he’d be palace-worthy... he just doesn’t have one because he’s not part of the MAIN storyline. You get me?
Considering that they are now Japan’s Most Wanted, the Phantom Thieves sure suck at keeping a low profile. The team’s roster has grown to TEN friggin’ members with the addition of Jerky Akechi, and that’s not even getting into how everyone whose confidant I max out suddenly knows I’m a phantom thief... even if it doesn’t make any sense for them to figure that out. (I’m looking at you, “Sun.” There’s just no way, dude.)
Tumblr media
Oh, good! I’d been worried that my disdain was one-sided.
Ever since the two protags of Persona 3 Portable brought us such distinct personalities for our heroes via their dialogue options, it’s been downhill for the series’ protagonists. P4′s leader - Yu Narukami - and P5′s “Joker” (a.k.a. Ren Amamiya) are basically blank slates as presented in the games. Their dialogue choices make it clear that they are both largely unflappable, but otherwise? Their personalities are pretty malleable. The subsequent spinoffs and (especially) the anime adaption of P4 helped shape Yu into more of a clear character, at least, but... Joker seems to possess the potential to be largely the same dude? His sense of humor is quite similar, at least, but I guess we can’t say for sure how much he uses those options. I’m just starting to watch the P5 anime — which I’m hoping will more clearly delineate who he is — but I don’t have any kind of handle on him yet. EXCEPT...
Mishima is a wonderful boy who deserves NOTHING but friendship and respect. However, more than once I’ve been handed a list of dialogue choices that are nothing but demeaning towards him. I seriously can’t even believe the outing to the theme park with Mishima, in which Joker is a) invited there by Mishima, b) comes across entitled pissant Shinya Oda, and c) promptly decides to ignore Mishima in favor of Oda. What the FUCK. This leaves me thinking that if Joker DOES have any clear personality, it’s “guy who treats loyal friends pretty shitty.” ........Damn. I guess you only get kindness and attention from Ren if you’re either actively helping him in the Metaverse or might potentially fuck him. Otherwise, he ain’t got time to care about you. COLD.
Tumblr media
"Whoaaa! Looking like a dick, Joker!” - Morgana, probably
No matter what I may gripe about above, I’m still addicted to this game. Can’t help but still love the series in its P3-and-onward incarnation. And much like previous games, I tend to find the day-to-day choices of how to spend my time to be more addictive and enjoyable than the actual dungeon-crawling play.
Yusuke may not be a party member I use all that often, but as a character? He’s absolutely a favorite of mine. Funny and weird and delightful. And Ryuji is STILL a wonderful guy who deserves a ton more respect from his friends.
Yeah, so I opted to romance the sexy goth doctor who always calls me “my guinea pig.” ........... Don’t judge me.

CHARACTER HISTORY [TRIGGER WARNING FOR CHILD ABUSE/NEGLECT]
Many can remember their childhood in saturated tones, back when color was still new and the start of a new day didn’t bring dread to the same old routine. For Sullivan, he remembers it as bleak. Cardiff was cold and gray, and that’s what he remembers the most. No day sticks out from another and the years blend together except from when they get darker— for when Sullivan felt like he wasn’t alone in the worst way. The saturation seemed to always be behind him, but never in his past. It was always pressed up against him, threatening to dim more than just a small flutter of his eyes. It was the feeling that lasted longer than anything else, and the one thing Sullivan can't help but want to run from as much as he wanted to embrace it.
Sullivan was a saving grace to his parents, but the manner in which they held this token was far from gentle and caring. His father, a scientist, had the claws of a witch he'd meant to observe and study dug deep in his heart and his mother, that very witch, was just as captivated by him to turn on her own kind. Sullivan's mother abandoned her coven to hide with her lover and together they hoped to spare the world of the impending doom brought on by the dying harmony between those gifted, and those not. They'd come to both understand that magic would be the end of everything, but that the gifted and non-gifted to work together. When they had a child, they believed they could instill a remedy to save the world even if it meant harm only they could justify.
From a young age, that bleakness came from the laboratory Sullivan's father held in their home. Most gifted children came into this world with a part of their soul at their side to always keep them company. It didn't matter if they were alone, they always had a piece of them beside themselves. This was never the case for Sullivan, as upon his birth, his father had severed the tie between him and his daemon the moment it's threads began to form. He believed it would remove any link of magic to his son to isolate him as a mundane creature like himself. What they failed to understand was that it wouldn't spare him, even if he had survived. The daemon had never been able to settle and instead of a piece of soul, it was diminished to a shadow of it. The rest of him, his body on this plane, was missing a piece of his being that would slowly drive him mad.
Sullivan would grow up with eeriness that he was never quite alone, but not in a way that most children did. There were no imaginary friends to take the role of what he felt. Instantly, he felt watched and threatened. No one would notice initially, but what should have been his daemon had altered his very shadow that was a separate entity of Sullivan's severed being. It would soon challenge his existence, and the only remedy would be the very experimentation his parents continued with every sedative and pain killer.
When he was twelve, his life shifted. The company that his father had run from had finally pinned him down. The ever present phobia of water that made Sullivan avoid it had been justified when they stormed the property in the middle of the night and drowned his father and mother in the lake just behind the family's home. His mother, in particular, had been harder to get rid of. She had been alive when they tossed her to the bottom of the lake tied down and weighed with stones-- and alive when the fulfillment of Sullivan's fears rang throughout the property, and every intruder met a similar fate.
Sullivan ran away after that, taking his father's work that had yet to be destroyed and run off. More than once he'd nearly been caught, but he never recalls just how he saves himself. Little does he know, he's never been alone. The parts of him that were untouched by his parents experimentation lies in the shadow of his being that no one can see is never quite synched to Sullivan's body. It is reserved with every bit of rage and strength that is needed to survive in a world where its vessel is nothing but a ticking clock for when tragedy will strike.
PRESENT DAY
Today, Sullivan works at a hospice where there is no anxiety of his own ability. Death is definite, and there's nothing to anticipate when he knows its bound to happen. He's found peace there and more importantly, a supply of pharmaceuticals that he's been addicted to since he was young.
