Starts with complete darkness.

VO Ancient reptillian brain: “There is nothing… Only an ancient primordial blackness…”

“Radioactive” by imagine dragons starts playing

We see harry appear in this dark void, floating in slo-mo, camera slowly zooms into Harry’s face

VO Ancient Reptillian brain “Your consciousness ferments in it, no larger than a single grain of malt…”

Camera comes to rest on harry’s face, taking up the whole screen

VO Ancient Reptillian brain “No ex-wives are contained in it…”

Wham sound effect, music cuts out

HIII SU YAYY IM GLAD YOU LIKE FIONNA AND CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! o(^▽^)o despite my beef with the last 2 eps i really really do like f&c as a whole ... it feels like such a natural and intriguing progression for adventure time's story while also being creative enough to have its own identity. when i was watching it i was blown away with how much it exceeded my expectations!!! i wanna see where they take the 2 stories and im excited to see where the team decides take this universe (˘◡˘) ♪ ......

full disclosure im a #fake at fan i havent watched since iwas like 13 or something so take what i say with a grain of salt . but ig the main appeal of the first 8 eps for me is that i felt like it was set up as a subversion of what we knew about fionna and cake and, by extension, adventure time as a series. it takes a look at at's typical storytelling formula but from a more detached lens so it provides a new take on adventure time's storytelling by subverting it's key elements while offering a new perspective and tone (i was very pleased w how different f&c are from their at counterparts!) . simon's depression only seems to spiral with time despite everything "ending well" in the original series. fionna, who was initially excited to escape her boring life, becomes slowly disillusioned when she realizes she's out of her element amidst all the magic. both fionna and simon were stuck in a point where they can't progress in life (though in varying degree) because no matter what they do, there isn't really anywhere they belong. so their arcs are set up to have them live for themselves and carve an identity outside of wanting to escape their situations!! i found that very interesting!!

but then. episode 9 and 10 ...... gotta say i was pretty underwhelmed w these ones ha!

(extended thoughts beyond the cut bc its wayy too long and kind of a downer.. ^^ dont click if u havent finished yet!!):

i mean. eps 9-10 do a good enough job in wrapping up the story .... its just that the tone and way in which conflict was resolved felt kinda disconnected from the first half imo. fionna's struggles and what she needed was set up as a fairly complex problem and seemingly extended beyond her surface level desire to escape. but by the end shes like no wait im ok with my town actually i just needed to accept it :) which while yes that was the resolution the show was setting up, the way it's handled feels too. easy ig? idk her journey in the last two episodes feels wayy more cut-and-dry than i was hoping. it really feels like they wanted to delve into her struggles a little longer but weren't given enough time to do so, so they just kinda had to skip to The Part where she learns her lesson, but for me that kinda undermined the complexity of the conflict being set up and resolved things in a pretty generic way. also nitpick but her decision to not change her world mainly coming from gumlee going like "nooo we just got together!" was like disappointingly simple to me (._.)

which brings me to simon. ouuugh simon. i loooove fionna and cake's take on simon as a character a lot but im sorry betty and simon's resolution left me with more mixed feelings than it did closure. their story is bittersweet and doomed from the start so i dont have a problem with them not being meant to be but "simon was selfish too" being the major takeaway is so strange to me? throughout the show simon is shown to be incredibly selfless and self-sacrificial so having THAT be what we take away from his character feels so out of left field. and yes bc we dont see much about simon's personal life in the main series i dont doubt that he was prone to being selfish. it could be an interesting direction to take him in! but.... his selfishness towards betty is only brought up in episode 9 (we didnt see betty till episode 8 mind you) through an exposition dump via casper and nova (whose segments+designs were admittedly rlly cute) and directly called into question in the last episode, which was ALSO their last meeting. and it leaves such a sour taste to me ....... if youre basing a climax off a specific conflict....why wait UNTIL the climax itself to directly bring up said conflict with little to no buildup. i couldnt feel any closure bc i didnt think this was the conflict theyd choose to build their relationship on at all (then again i have bad foresight)

also "we could've made better choices" still confuses me bc literally WHAT..... if simon never put on the crown he wouldve died and never wouldve found marcy. if he escaped the crown's curse he wouldve projected his madness onto pb. idk. maybe i was reading too much into those isolated incidents. but also somehow i doubt that betty turning insane and ice king's existence were consequences of his selfishness 😭 mind you he literally tried to stop betty from saving him in at!!

additional nitpicks the tone kinda switched back and forth and it felt jarring. going from the somber tone of simon and betty resolution/final meeting and the lighthearted/vaguely humorous tone of fionna and friends trying to stop the bad guy kinda messed with my investment a lil bit...also jay permanently living in fionna's universe was so strange to me likerwyt2r!^%@%#& DONT YOU HAVE SIBLINGS?

anyways i sound really critical but its only bc im rlly invested and believe it could be better if its given enough time to explore its concept better!! and even if the last 2 eps werent for me as a whole there are a lot of things i love about it . the visuals (casper and nova, simon and betty's resolution, the scene of simon returning to ooo, the dandelion scene, the epilogue, GOLB) were sooo beautifully done and did such a good job giving the scenes weight like seriously props to the creative team. i also looove beth and shermy we've only seen very little of them but already their dynamic is so endearing. there's so much passion and creativity jampacked into this project i reaaally can't wait to see what else they have in store

a/n most definitely another filler chapter but the one with drama will be out tmrrw and my schools starting in like four days so the drafts will come out slower

Helion was the best mate anyone could ever ask for. He could cook, he understood my emotions, gave me space, could give amazing cuddles and kisses, he was great in bed but most of all he cared.

In a sense no one had ever done before. When I wanted him home, he was home. When I visited him during a meeting he made me sit in his lap and glared at anyone who decided to mention it.

We had been mated for at least 6 months by now. And it was absolute bliss. Every single day he would wake me up with his head between my legs, every single night he would worship me like a queen. His kisses made my knees weak and my head dizzy.

Sighing at the thought of him kissing me, I continue trying my best at a dish that Rhysand used to cook for me as a child.

Just as I’m about ditch the recipe and head to his office, a strong pair of arms wrap around me.

Melting into his touch, I lean back. He kisses my neck and bites at my soft spot making me moan softly.

“Hey baby,” turning around my hands run through his beautiful hair. His lips find mine almost instantly. My back presses against the counter and I arch into his touch. Pulling him closer my fingers stray to the hem of his shirt.

“As much as I would love to continue this, I have to tell you something,” he pulls away. My kind is still reeling from his intense kisses. Nodding, I ask him to keep going.

“The Night Court wants to negotiate some stuff with us,” he told me.

Raising an eyebrow I beckon him to continue. “I want you to come with me, your first appearance outside of Day Court as High Lady, and I know what you’re going to say, that you’re not ready or you’re not sure, but I know that you’re ready, I also know how much you miss your brother and your nephew,”

He was right, I mean when was Helion ever wrong?

“I suppose Nyx should meet his uncle,” I sigh dramatically.

“Can you help me make this dish, Rhysand used to make it for me,” I ask him.

“Rhysand can cook?” he gapes at me in shock. “You can cook too sweetheart,” I lay a soft kiss on his adam’s apple and start gathering the ingredients.

“I know what you’re trying to make, you relax I’ll make it for you,” Helion says pressing kisses against my shoulder.

He’s elbow deep in flour, looking like an absolute vision. His golden eyes glint in the sun, his tan skin more prominent as the sun started setting.

We had decided to get this house because of its position and how the sun was almost always reflecting some room.

In the mornings it was our bedroom, during the day it was the seating area outside and during the evening it always seeped into the kitchen.

Not that I was complaining, it made the Day High Lord in front of me look softer and almost vulnerable.

“You’re staring, my love” Helion chuckles, his voice oozing smugness. “Is it so wrong for a female to enjoy the view her mate is providing?” I question, teasing.

“No I suppose not, you know I have to put this in the oven for awhile and we have some spare time,” he cheekily suggests.

“What shall we do?” I say feigning innocence. He circles around to the side of the counter where I’m sitting and gently holds my chin, “You’re so innocent right now but wait until I have you begging and writhing underneath me,”

I gulp, his words go straight to my core.

“What are you waiting for then?”

Update!

Hey! figured id hop back on this blog to give any lingering followers an update

I sorta took a huge break from tumblr and even online in general at one point, and haven’t really gotten around to being more active until recently, so ive got a few things on the agenda to address

First! this blog itself will likely remain not very active, i now have a separate account so going back and forth doesn’t seem appealing to me. that said i wont be deleting this or any other blog, id rather it be archived.

Second, i do have a personal blog ive been using mostly to goof off, @cosmic-chronologer , I don’t plan on posting actual content on it but if someone needs to reach me regarding something thats now the blog to go to

Thirdly! Moonblossom is fine, I moved the blog over to my current account and have been writing up a rough draft for the actual storyline. Ive been taking it easy lately so itll probably be awhile before anything concrete gets posted though

And lastly! To jumpstart myself back into being more active in general, I just opened up an ask blog for lofi dreamtale and the original concepts i had for the verse, @ask-lofiverse . As for “versecore”, me wanting to make it an original story was mostly because i wasnt in the utmv fandom at the time. but im back to drawing skeletons again✨ I had a lot of fun when I first made lofi dreamtale and it seemed like a good starting project to get my groove back. Ive been setting things up for a few days now so hopefully any past lofi dreamtale enjoyers like it

and that should be everything?? I know its probably a lot but thanks for reading anyway if u did!

Hello! It's been one year since I posted the first page of c2censuscomic (name...still pending) and since then ive made... 7 pages total. That being said! I'm proud of the pages I've made! It feels great to see a finished page after hours of drafting, linework, coloring etc. and I could see myself improving with each page. However, I started this comic very impulsively with a skeleton of an idea with very little direction. Every new page I had a new idea for the story going forward, which made me want to completely change pages that I had already posted. I still don't have a real draft for the story, so: I'm going to step back for awhile until I do.

When I begin posting this comic again, the updates will likely be larger and have more complete arcs so I can confidently go back and change stuff if I need to. That is, when I have the time to write out and draw a full color comic. Which will probably not be for awhile. Because I am entering my second year at college and I'll be pretty busy focusing on my studies.

But! I'm not going to stop drawing starbound oc comics! I'm just going to change my approach. While the story of the C2 Census is wildly incomplete, there are many more stories to be told with Thierri's Crew in more shortform, limited palette comics. And if all goes well I'm tentatively planning on starting up an askblog around December! I'm hoping that by making more regular comics and limiting the time I spend on them, I can improve my time management and speed/ease when making other comics.

Why didn't I say I love you?

'Why didn't I say I love you?' I thought, looking at the dozens of photos of me and my boyfriend. We had just gotten into such a big fight, and amist all that rage, I stormed out of the apartment. Im lucky my parents live by and have left my room alone. The anger has finally bubbled down, its been hours anyways. But....all I feel is guilt. Even when me and Thomas fight, we always say 'I love you' before we leave....he had yelled it, so why didn't I yell it back? Ugh, I can feel the lump in my throat, the growing urge to break down crying. Why didn't I just say it? Why was I so angry? He hasn't contacted me since, and I dont feel it is my place to contact him. Its been hours, maybe this is our last fight? No. Dont be silly, you love him, and he loves you. It's going to work itself out in the end. Dont worry.

Heh, dont worry, dont worry? Ive been repeating that silly line too myself for the past week, oh, how I miss the warmth of our sleepy cuddles, the small talks, the silent dinners in each others comforting presences. I miss him, my love, I miss how we would lay in bed, have silly banter, and just, cuddle till we couldn't hold our eyes open anymore, till our brains finally said thats enough. Oh, how I miss Thomas.

I finally broke down crying, its around 2 am, maybe I should text him? But, no. I cant, its not my place....but, he also deserves an apology. I type it up, hoping the paragraph was good, before realizing, a call would be better, Deleting the paragraph, my finger going up to hover over the call button, one second of hesitation, before pressing down and calling him. It rung three times, three rings Ill never forget what happened next.

The call started, I wait for the hello, signifying that he was on the other end....."Hello? Im sorry, but if your calling Thomas, hes busy right now" a female voice, almost shaky replied, I recognized it to be his mother's voice, I quickly responded, hoping she wont hang up before I get the chance to speak. "Is he ok? Are you ok?" I was concerned for both of them, one, my boyfriend has always picked up the phone, and two, his mothers voice was so shaky, almost like she has been or is crying. "No, and no. Thomas- he- he is in the hospital right now, hes.....hes not going to make it." It took me a full minute to comprehend what I was being told, before I knew it, tears were already rushing down my cheeks "w-what happened?" I said, trying not to sound like I was crying, trying to stay strong. The voice on the other end, hesitated for a minute, the silence growing, before it was broken, and she had said "He had been in a car accident, fatal." I couldn't take it anymore, letting out a broken sob, trying to calm down. The phone hangs up, his mother must've decided the conversation wasn't going anywhere with the way things were going.

I drop my phone on the bed, crying as I sink to my knees. Hes gone? Hes gone? That cant be true.....but it is, isn't it? I cant deny the facts....some memories flashing through my vision. We were cuddling, his arms around my waist, we were having a small chat. "My love, we both know I make the better pancakes, you can't deny that." And I had responded with a playful chuckle "uh-huh, well, sorry Honey-boo, your wrong." And it all began. All the memories flooding my brain, tears rolling down my cheeks, soaking the fabric of my top. "Why did you have to take him away? What the Fuck did he do? He didn't do anything to deserve this........" I said angrily, before continuing on, a sadder tone, one that was softer "Why didnt I say I love you?"

nagi: he only ever orders chicken tenders and fries at restaurants. your waiter always gives you a look because they’re so bewildered that a 6’2, second year in high school, is still ordering off the kids menu. omg, and nagi gets pissy when the place doesn't offer them. first of all, you're at olive garden what did you expect, you bozo

reo: ok there’s no real reasoning for this one but i seriously feel like reo’s the kind of boy to try to sing or rap to songs when it’s so obvious he doesn’t know any of the words please djdkdkdk. nagi always calls him out, and he gets so pissy and is always like “i do know this song shut up 😒” (no he doesn't, he's lying!!!!)

raichi: posts “depressed” bart simpson edits on his "boys only😈‼️💥" priv story when you guys are in a fight. the fact that he has a boys only priv is an ick in itself, but the fact that he genuinely thinks that the edits are deep is what really does it in. (nagi swipes up w “keep up your head up king 🤕” to mess with him 😭😭)

indeed! some are physical appearance, so i may show some of those eventually, but i think i can provide a decent description(?)

ok, so !

- obviously the tail wags when excited or somethin,, he’s not really used to expressing positive emotion so that’s a good indicator of mood without down right asking

- it was kinda implied on a stream / audio he can sing to an extent so like..if cooking something for listener you could sometimes hear him hum

- def hugs from behind,, height difference (bonus if he’s tired and does this he’ll lean his head on listeners to hold them closer)

- ANOTHER THING ABOUT HIM BEING TIRED which is like all the time but anyways,, if listener tries to leave the bed or smth yeah yk,, subconsciously hold them closer/tighter 

- yk how penguins collect pebbles for their loved ones,, yeah.

- secret but not so secretly sediment about small things or details about listener

- in denial of separation anxiety

- usually holding listener someway or another when they're together bc of said denial (take that as you will)

- this is a really personal thing i do but bc his name literally means light in french listener would sometimes call him that as a more intimate petname

Me trying to figure out designs + dark wizard trans. Why does he have a tenta dick? A dark spell he did had the (accidental) side effect of giving him one (and also changing a good like 50% of his anatomy into something a little more monsterous but shhhhh we're not talking about that), but honestly he'd been wanting one Anyways, AND the spell went off correctly, so he 100% won that gamble.

(HI soooo this backstory thing ended up a LOT longer than i initally expected. Have fun reading lmao)

Sooo the relationship between these two is that theyre recently reconnected childhood penpals!!! They live on two different, yet similar worlds, and those worlds have some hidden connections! One day, a hot summer day, young lil baby Cafe (the person who is Not a wizard) found one of those connections, in the woods behind their family's home. Being a weird little child (as all children are), they decided to send a letter through it.

On the other side of that connection, a few days later, DW (Dark Wizard) found that letter (and the connection) in the woods surrounding his grandfather's home, and also being a weird little child, sent a letter back through. Thus! A wonderful summer friendship was struck up between the two, and lasted for years.

Unfortunately, somewhere around the middle of highschool, DW one day simply stopped responding. Cafe held out hope for months, but soon years had passed, and they simply had to move on. Life waited for no one, and they had college to get to.

The reason behind DW's sudden disappearance is the simply fact that his kindly grandfather, the one who he had been apprenticed to for the last 10+ years, and raised by even before that, was a dark magic user. And the particular kingdom they lived in hunted dark magic users. Also in his heyday, DW's grandfather was a real powerhouse, and caused Many issues (Likely also contributing to the banning of dark magic in that particular kingdom lmao).

So uh, yeah. DW had to go on the run.

Eventually he became a powerful enough tyrant/menancing cryptid mix that folks collectively decided to stop attempting to hunt him down (barring the occasional greedy/overly confident idiot), so DW came back to where his grandfather's house once stood, and settled down there. He never truly forgot about the connection, but it took a few months before he finally worked up the nerve to pen a letter to his oldest friend. Thankfully, DW happened to finally put his letter through just when Cafe happened to be visiting home for a break between semesters.

Even though they had long given up hope on ever hearing from DW again, Cafe still enjoyed hanging out in the woods to chill out, and checking the connection was practically a ritual at this point. Only this time, there was a letter in that script, one they never could have forgotten, even if they tried.

And basically after that its them catching up on each other's life in the past few years, and sending each other lil trinkets and pictures of themselves and whatnot. Then yearning. Lotsa yearning. DW and Cafe have lowkey had childhood crushes on one another all these years, but how the hell would you tell that to a someone you've never met in person, and cant actually ever meet in person??? Plus, Cafe has tried the dating scene, and never really found anyone that interests them (they are demisexual). DW has literally spent years on the run. So they (individually) just kinda. Stew in the Yearning-Pining soup.

Eventually magic fucky ducky shit happens and connections around the world turn into fully fledged, creature permissible portals. Its a lotta chaos, but thats not the point, cause now! Now they can finally fucking hug each other!!! And be incredibly gay horny young adults together.

I dont have anything vaugely thought about beyond that point, but just know they grow old and grey (...eventually. dark magic does some Weird Shit) together.

okay so here’s what happened.

like a year ago, i see a fanart on twitter. the caption is brief, i dont remember it, but looking at the fanart i start getting Ideas and it inspires an au.

months later, i find that fanart uploaded on tumblr (i didnt know this fanartist had a tumblr as they dont link it and hardly use it). i want to save it to rb when i start writing/posting the au, but i dont want it sitting in my drafts for months, so i put it in my queue, scheduled to post at some ridiculous date, so i can post it and shove it up to the top of the queue when its time to actually start posting it

trouble is, i realize my ridiculous future date is actually a lot closer than i thought when the fanart suddenly posts with spoilers in the tags. .... which i also dont realize for awhile.

dfkghldskg celine im sorry i kept this in my inbox for so long i just didnt know what to put here ive made so many fucking things over the years narrowing it down is just dlkfjgkf himpossible (i know i got a bunch of these asks around new years too and i didnt do them) but i feel terrible for leaving it so ill just put a few off the top of my head that i always think about and will always be proud of i guess?? this set of scott mccall which i wrote the quote for but i was never sure if i was like plagiarising or something because i just like.. couldn’t have come up with that myself (still not sure) BUT anyway i still think its powerful just like He. this set of ADHD stiles that i remember took FOREVER both in the planning and in the execution because i had to sit and research symptoms vs character traits and blablabla dklfghkdjg but also cutting and editing all those snippets of scenes. i really got to know the boy well at least, which helped for my sideblog i guess XD this sciles set which also took an inordinate amount of time to figure out how to do and make nice and i tried using the technique multiple times but i think it just never stuck ... the instructions are waaaay down in my drafts now im not sure i could do it again  but im still proud i once could XD (and that i actually used to take risks with gifs d;lkfgjkldfgfg) this stydia au set (and also this sciles one, but the stydia one came first and idk i kinda think i did a better job at it..altho the kiss isn’t a half bad manip i gotta say self pat-pats) i went on a blending bender after that one for awhile ;ldkgkldfhgf ahhh the wild stydia days this sciles set just made me feel so many ways and i was just pumped to use o’broseys final make out sesh in a serious set cuz why not dkfghkjdfg this set is based off one of my fave songs and the fact that 6a fit it so perfectly drove me nuts so this is one of my fave gifsets even tho i hate the entire premise can’t believe how well this one fit im still so proud of my disney princess alpha :’) and i might as well throw in some spn ones so ill just say these were labors of love as all of my lyric/quote edits are and as a bonus each of these took WEEKS and actually months of thinking about before i was ready to publish so.. yea you could say im.. satisfied with them. x x x
