still fucking pissed about the way im being treated by my professor. she basically told me to my face that my trans experiences & opinions were too advanced and complicated for our class, & that she had to teach them the basics...

and what exactly are those basics? cis people. cis experiences. cis opinions. this is not intersectionality. "basic feminism" should not mean white cis feminism. & i feel like she is projecting onto my classmates, many of whom seem very interested in what I have to say. one cis boy in my class even tried raising questions about nonbinary people based on those in his life, and she shut him down because she refused to understand what he was talking about. she's just fucking obsessed with her idea of feminism while trying to feel like an intersectional ally yet the minute ANYONE brings up trans people when she doesn't want them to, she throws a little fit.

just. when exactly are cis people supposed to learn about us? i am used to having to explain transness to cis people. i am willing to do that! i am willing to simplify it if need be! but cis adults & older teens can handle being challenged a little bit. in fact I'd say it's pretty healthy for them to be introduced to trans theory as part of their introduction to feminism, especially in an age where transness is a major part of the ongoing culture war. but noooo god forbid this cis woman's ego is challenged in the slightest. god forbid i have an original thought about gender that i didn't get from her fucking textbook

I'm so unreasonably emotional about how much the new people care about Gegg. Especially the French. They call him cute and smart and sweet. Multiple of them asked multiple times if he had any armor or protections. Offering him diamonds and listening to what he says. Baghera Jumped in front a Gun for him (so did ElQ, but i don't trust his intentions are pure). It's so genuinely nice to see after Gegg be treated like garbage by the English speakers (Calling him annoying, ugly, telling him to basically go kill himself). Despite how stressed I am about it, I like that my new job specifically hired me for my autism (it’s relevant to the role) so when they ask my availability I get to say “I’d rather not work Friday/Saturday/ Sunday because the F1 is on” and everyone just nods like oh yeah of course no problem

Thinking about how Will Graham views his anger as righteous which of course extends to Hannibal. A lot of his anger in s2 is over the fact that he finally trusted someone only for that person to betray him but it’s more than that. It’s more than just what Hannibal did to him. What he’s truly deeply angry about is that Hannibal knows his dark nature and not only knows it, but wants him to embrace the very nature he’s desperately trying to suppress.

He’s supposed to be the one that’s perceptive. He’s the one who is supposed to see it all while remaining unknown and unseen. And yet Hannibal recognizes what kind of person he has as soon as they meet. It’s not supposed to be that way. He hates that Hannibal is the one person he can’t hide from. Who will always see through the facade he puts on for others who buy into it. That’s why when Hannibal essentially tells him in s3 that he hasn’t changed, he’s fuming. If just Hannibal can believe he’s changed, maybe he himself can believe it too.

But he doesn’t. And deep down Will knows that’s just what it is too: a facade. Hating Hannibal is really just him hating himself at the end of the day. He takes a lot of his displaced anger out on him. He has these violent murder fantasies about Hannibal that symbolically can be read as him trying to kill off this part of himself. He can’t kill them off. Suppression only works for so long. The fantasies only grow stronger.

It’s only when he gives in at last during TWOTL. When he stops supressimg who he is. When he stops hating himself for it and overthinking about the act of violence. When he allows himself indulgence. This is when he experiences being at peace with himself possibly for the first time ever. At last, the internal battle that rages on inside him calms. The voices in his head go quiet. Even though this is brief, he knows that what he and Hannibal experienced on that cliff is a moment of peace in a lifetime of unrest. He doesn’t take it for granted, which is why he says what he does. When he stops fighting Hannibal, giving into the violence and also his touch as they embrace, it represents that he stops fighting with himself too. And isn’t that the most beautiful thing in the world?

There is a very particular brand of intra community homophobia against gay men from people who have a lot to say about "cis white gays" but are themselves very transmisogynistic... Like making fun of gay men for effeminacy, juxtaposing it with secondary sex characteristics like balding, treating feminine characteristics as infantile and saying "you are a grown man," getting mad at campy uses of feminine pronouns and language... These are the people who if you called it transmisogynistic would play dumb and say "I'm talking about MEN not trans women, says more about you than it does about me." I'm not trying to water down what transmisogyny is; I'm saying that there's no expression of contempt for gender nonconformity and "effeminacy" that won't also impact trans women, even if you cover your ass with the word "cis."
